Hi, hello everyone! <3

It’s been a while since my last masterpost and I figured now would be the perfect time to post this anyway since... you know... after today, there will be no more of the real thing. So consider this as a kind of fix-it gift from moi, which you can devour when we’re all sad about the show ending. I would include the cheesy ‘Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened’ quote, but that would be kind of hypocritic since I’m already bawling my eyes out myself, so... yeah. Enjoy these fics at least! :)

Lastly, Skam might be ending, but I promise you we’re not going anywhere... As long as there are fics to recommend, we’ll be here with new rec lists at hand & ready to reply to all your asks/requests!

But actually, it's Isak who turns around one night when they're cuddling in Even’s bunk bed, Even’s hand twined in Isak’s curls and guitar music playing in the background, and asks, “Do you want move in together?”

Which leads him here and there collecting roses and notes at locations that hold memories. Many of the big pivotal moments for Isak and Even are revisited, leading up to an Evak proposal.

@westiris is amazing and I read two of their Evak fics a few days ago but it just hit me, at 1:30am in bed, how much I love them and how great they are.

(trying to dodge spoilers of any kind so bare with me)

In with love, from anonymous, they and the other author (who's tumblr I can't find, so feel free to link it) captures so many nuances of being gay that aren't ever mentioned, and I love that. Even's mental illness is treated with respect that the show didn't always give it, and for that I am eternally grateful.

In take me to the stars, each character is so amazing and lovable, capturing my favorite aspects of them and adding things that the show never did. Isak's unique viewpoint on life is tragic but well done, and I think I fell for Even as Isak did (or is doing. I don't think it's finished)

I highly recommend their work guys plz do yourself a favor and go read them

Lets call this fic what it is. A bite feast. Do you wanna skip all the vampire lore and exposition and just get your teeth sinked into a one shot? Well here you go a funny little oneshot in which Sander bites Robbe(no turning). Its a quickie but it certainly quenched my thirst.

Dead of night (ITW) by orphan_account (PG)

Can’t say to much about this fic. Its a chaptered fic that started to get it wheels turning but we seem to be stuck in neutral. Author you asked for some HC to inspire you to write so jumping off your last vamp fic I would suggested exploring Sander as a lone wolf vampire and how finding Robbe ignites the idea to mate or to herd again. 

Paint me in trust (complete) by themoongirl/ @dearrobbe @dearsander (R/mainly due to violence)

Just completed and what a ride. This is truly a structured love story and though I don’t think the arc will be novel it doesn’t matter because this is such a deep love story about forgiveness, acceptance and sacrifice. I also love how the other characters feed the love story as a whole and how their experiences shaped Sander and Robbe to make decisions about how far they were truly willing to go to be together. The writing is so solid that you will wheeze through this fic. Structurally I think this fic is the author’s best work to date. Alpha/Beta/Omega 

Don't you call him baby (ITW) by @ayellowcurtain (R/Mature)

Big big shout out to this writer for doing something that is rarely successful which is creating an entire narrative story via prompts. Anyone out there who wants to start writing a world inspired fic but maybe feels like they would love input in what ideas to explore within that worlds setting should look at this fic as an example. Its really angsty and at times challenges the idea of the typical Sander alpha and Robbe omega love story. Its really unique but in an incredibly intelligent way and once again its told entirely through short form prompts. Its really great to see an author allowing their readers to create the angles of their storytelling.

Rescue my heart (I'll drown without you) (ITW) by @skamsnake & @zaddyskam (Explicit/Mature/NC-17) Kudos to the detailed world descriptions and exposition building that snake and zaddy undertake in explaining concepts around ABO because I didn’t even know what this genre was until I read this fic. From my understanding ABO writers decide what ABO concepts they borrow or chose not to use in the ABO world. This fic is in canon so set during an equivalent timeline to S3. We get an in-depth look into concepts such as alpha space and also how in this society Alphas/Omegas and Betas live and date interchangeably. Of course we have the normal angst ridden love story at the center of s3 but with a twist or should I say a knot.

Holding On Tight To You (Complete) by pinksaltcrystals (PG-13)

Am really happy to have a ABO fic in the mix that stays within a realm that accommodates readers of all ages. There is no explicit sexual content in this fic aside from mentions of heat and rut. It is a really good case study into how heat effects Robbe (omega) and also the very primal instincts the Alpha/Omega dynamic spark between the lovers(R+S) outside of sexual encounters. Also I love to see how other character canons in this fic are developed. Some interesting choices between who is an alpha/omega and beta. Really gripping read that explains the science of omega heat in the ABO world. 

Sander & Robbe (ITW) by JesseLblack / @jesyblack (Explicit/Mature/NC-17)

Written in Spanish this mpreg fic explores teenage Robbe getting pregnant after unprotected sex. Scandalous! It’s not complete yet but interesting concepts around teenage pregnancy in the ABO world and heighten fertility during heat. Author I haven’t seen an update in awhile but I would be really interested to see where you were going to take this.

Bring me a higher love (complete) By Skamtrash / @vearthling(Explicit/Mature/NC-17)

An Mpreg fic set into the future in which Robbe decides he wants to be a young dad and he has to convince Sander of that too. Once pregnant this is a cute quirky little fic into the weird abnormalities of pregnancy cravings and adjustments that ring very true to what most couples go through in these developing months. Super sugary and Sander gets no.1 best pregnancy partner in this fic. 

Hunger Games

just another dressed up heartbreak (turned his tears to diamonds in his crown) (kinda of a oneshot its part of a volume of works) by aletterinthenameofsanity  (R/mainly due to mentions of every dark trope you can think of)

Robbe and Sander victors of the 80th games. Cold blooded killers that fell deep in love during their Victory tour. This is a one shot in a large volume of works for this author exploring the Hunger Games. Milan is our Haymitch, I mean of course he is. This fic is a one shot part of the larger volume but in this part of the story we find out just because you win the games doesn’t mean the competition to stay alive has ended. Its sinister, dark and not for the fate of heart but some very interesting tropes explored and we truly get reminded that the capital always wins in the end. Also be prepared to see our evak couples how you have never seen them before. I like this fic alot but trigger warnings at every corner as this volume of fics are very very dark.

Game of Thrones

I, I Will Be King (ITW) by proawler / @sander-schmander (PG)

Sander Targaryen, First of His Name, King of the Andals and the First Men, Protector of the Six Kingdoms. Sander Targaryen is betrothed to Britt Lannister when Olenna Tyrell invites the king to a party at Highgarden. During his visit he meets Robbe Tyrell and all the tiresome work of politics melts away as he is completely mesmerized by the budding flower standing before him. Author please continue this fic!!! Its so good. I love everything I have read thus far. I beg of you, am a sucker for GOT and you have done a fantastic job thus far capturing this world.

This or That: Fanfiction Edition

I felt the need to link to a few of my absolute most favourite fics from various fandoms so ... that’s a thing that happened. 

Slow burn or love at first sight: The burn makes the payoff that much greater, the slower the better. I want to be in physical pain by the time they kiss 100k words later. 

Fake dating or secretly dating: I’ve recently read a couple of really good fake dating fics but I probably liked them so much because the fake dating turned into secretly dating. And apparently I have a thing for coming out scenes and/or others finding out. 

“Oh no, there’s only one bed” or long distance correspondence: I mean, come on. Bonus points if they wake up accidentally cuddling and/or the whole thing was a setup by their friends to push them together. Long distance isn’t much fun, unless it’s a small part of something much longer. 

Hurt/comfort or amnesia: Has to make up at least 90% of the stuff I read, probably because I’m drawn to cursed/disabled/mentally ill/fucked up characters in the first place.  --The Golden Bird by pierrot_dreams, original, E (very, very E), currently 170k - take those tags seriously, because I guarantee you WILL be triggered 

Enemies to lovers or best friends to lovers: Again, I’ve read some excellent ETL fics lately but the ‘enemy’ part is always based on miscommunication (hello my beloved #stupidboys tag). I don’t do actual enemies (fuck off Drarry). Give me more of that slow-burn, childhood-best-friends, one-sided-pining plzkthx. --And they were right in front of you the whole time by Ihavecoldhands, Evak, T, 18k

Mutual pining or domestic bliss: I feel kind of cheated if a fic ends without a bit of domestic bliss, but I rarely read things that are entirely that. Mutual pining, particularly when it’s third-person limited and the pining is clearly mutual but the narrator misinterprets it or thinks they’re imagining it. 

Smut or fluff: If I read a smutty one-shot there’s a very high likelihood that fluff is also in the tags. I like smut as much as the next guy but if there’s no feelings involved then I’m just not interested. N’awws before phwoars. --Mondays at Sixteen by @folerdetdufoler​, Evak, E, 163k - copious amounts of both smut AND fluff, what more could you want

Fantasy AU or modern AU: I’m super picky about fantasy and sci-fi in general because worldbuilding is of vital importance and it’s too often poorly done. I’m also not really a fan of real-world magic or supernatural elements in a fic if they’re not part of the canon (including Hogwarts AUs). Modern AUs are a pretty safe bet and some of them are AMAZING. --There Are No Gays in Football by Malu_3 (Grainne), Merthur, E, 213K --Keep the Key Within Reach by SpiritsFlame, Mercy, E, 62k  --If You Look to Your Left, You Will See by unoriginal_liz, Thommy, E, 144k

Alternate universe or future fic: Future fic meaning a continuation of canon, or future as in set in the 24th-and-a-halfth Thentury? Either way, I’d pick AU. Especially when canon makes all AUs technically canon also (thank you Julie Andem). 

Canon compliant/missing scenes or fix-it: I have TWO absolute-most-favourite fics to add here, one of each, so I can’t really choose between them.  --Trauma Medicine by Kispexi2, Mal/Simon, E, 168k - missing scenes; very possibly the best fanfic I’ve ever read in my life --Grow In The Openings by mindabbles, Wolfstar, E, 33k - because the only acceptable post-Marauders Era fic is a fix-it fic 

Reincarnation or character death: Not really a fan of either but FUCK character death. No. Just no. Unless that character happens to be a canonically-dead hologram, or a canonically-dead wizard who is then brought back to life. 

One-shot or multi-chapter: I’ll go for either but the longer the better. 450k slow burn angst with a happy ending? Yes hello that is my name. 

Time travel or isolated together: I’m up for both but the only example I can think of is that Hornblower epic in which Archie didn’t die but he and Horatio were beamed up to the Enterprise, Beverly saved his life, they hung out with Riker and Troi and then Picard married them. (In the unlikely event someone knows this fic, LINK PLEASE.)

High school romance or middle-aged romance: Some of my absolute favourite fics are the latter, but given that my two most beloved ships mostly take place in high school, I have to say the former.  --In Case The Scene Gets Nasty by zarah5, Brendon Urie/Ryan Ross, E, 90k - I know people are squicky about RPF, and rightfully so, but this is hella AU and I shamelessly adore it 

Arranged marriage or accidental marriage: Not a big fan of either, but the old What Happens In Vegas trope can be entertaining. 

Sci-fi AU or magic AU: Really not into either; see above. HOWEVER, this is a good excuse to link to another favourite with supernatural elements which put me off reading it for ages, but god I’m glad I did.  --Burning For Your Touch by cuteandtwisted, Evak, M, 257k

Neighbours or roommates: Both have potential for shenanigans and different forms of tension. 

Body swap or gender-bend: I have fond memories of a few Wolfstar body swap fics back in the early 00s (and of course, Rimmer and Lister). I’m all for gender-bending if canonically cis characters are written as trans or non-binary. 

Angst or crack: Never really got into crack, although there has been the odd one I’ve liked. I prefer to have my heart ripped out, shredded into tiny pieces and slowly put back together again. 

Apocalyptic or mundane: Mundanity tends to make the stakes internal rather than external, with more potential for angst and whump, and that’s basically where I live. But if we’re talking post-apocalyptic, then I have to recommend:  --Stars Fell On Alabama by saddle_tramp, original, E, 104K

Yess, about the fanfic recs: I’ve read tons in other fandoms, I like canon things mostly but AUs are great if they’re somewhat close to canon (like for skam a space or period setting wouldn’t really interest me as much but a uni au would be v cool. Also like stories about ~predestined soulmates or any other ~we live in a dystopia kind of thing isn’t really for me), sex scenes are fun but not necessary, I loooove fluff, loove humour, def need a happy ending, a bit of angst is good too

Mainly I just love stories where I can fall in love with the characters all over again and they fall in love with each other!! Friends to lovers/enemies to lovers/etc are also great. Funny tropes in general are great. And I’m not super into kidfic. Sfsgsh I’m sorry I feel like that was a lot at once haha, thank you for indulging me, take your time to answer if you need it ❤️ (2)

@lunawave75 asked for beautiful fanfics so I went through some of my bookmarks on ao3. It’s not up to date and my tagging system is a mess so this is in no way a complete or comprehensive list. Also, these are just my opinion. You may want to read the tags and summary first. I don’t know if you’d consider them beautiful, but most of them I had bookmarked as wow.  I tried to leave out fics that are already in my skam fic rec tag.

Hour by Hour by everything_else (700 words) Little bit of angst and fluff. It’s really sweet. Summary: Isak is away when Even has an episode. 

While I was going through their stuff, I realized they wrote: Don’t Fuss Over Me (54k words) - It’s pretty angsty. Isak meets Even when he is still in an abusive relationship (he gets out of it and recovers).

Patrick Verona eat your heart out by allyasavedtheday @littlespooneven (1k words) Ok so this is one chapter out of Ciara’s Settle Down fic which consists of 40 of her amazing one shots posted on tumblr. I love her longer fics too but I have already recommended one of them. I just love this one so much. Oh, hi!  I do still read evak but I’m very picky about it and so there are several that I just haven’t read at all.  And trying to remember the entire year worth of fic is harrrdddddd.  However, I will do my best to answer these.

24. favorite fic you read this year.  we can take the long way home by @modestytreehouse.  I’m a sucker for soulmate fics and I really liked how this one worked.  I like that it wasn’t quite the conventional idea and the world building was really wonderful.  Plus, it was something nice to watch out for every week as it was posting.

25. a fic you read this year you would recommend everyone read.  I don’t want to say the same one again, so I’m going to put a different one.  Five stars by @brionbroadway because it’s so much fun and so cute and Even is so Even-ish!!

26. number of favorites/bookmarks you made this year.  This is not something I do regularly or consistently and so sadly in this case the answer is none.

27. favorite fanfic author of the year.  Probably unsungyellowraincoat.  I haven’t read too many evak things consistently this year (tending to drop in and out as the mood took me), but this is one person whose stuff I will generally always pick up even if I’m not on an evak kick.  

28. longest fic you read this year.  Probably we can take the long way home by @modestytreehouse again.  I’ve grown impatient with wips for the most part and usually read only at the end which means if they don’t end at a good moment in my life for reading then I often forget to read them at all (to the extent that I found several as I trawled back through the tag to answer these questions).  This was one I did read as a wip though and so therefore just ended up as the longest one by virtue of that.  A very good one to be my longest!!!

29. shortest fic you read this year.  I don’t know the names, but I’ve read lots of really sweet short drabble things on tumblr.

please, can someone recommend me a good evak fanfic, that respects the characters personalities (like even's bipolarity) and that does not happen in a parallel universe (what i mean is that it respects what the series said ) thanks.
