#even though Ahsoka’s no better than Anakin honestly

I know someone has probably said this better but. There's really so much about Luke & Ahsoka interactions that can be explored. Because honestly they have every reason to resent each other?
Anakin was arguably much more of a father to Ahsoka than he ever was to Luke (even if he was more of an older brother figure to Ahsoka than an actual father figure). He trained her and built her lightsabers and had a dumb nickname for her and made dad jokes and like - everything Luke ever could have wanted out of his dad. She knew him when he was still Anakin Skywalker and not Darth Vader. She knew Padme!! Padme also was kind of her mom! Luke doesn't even know Padme's name until sometime post ROTJ - it's possible Ahsoka was the first person who could have told it to him.
Not only that, but she had the Jedi Order. She was trained by the Order at its peak, raised from infancy in the rituals and knowledge that Luke now must piece together from whispers from ghosts and whatever old texts he can scrounge up from the corners of the galaxy the Empire somehow missed. He is doing all of this on his own with no guidance, no oversight, meanwhile it's knowledge that came to her as easy as breathing.
And she walked away from all of it. Everything Luke has ever wanted - a relationship with his parents, proper Jedi training, the Jedi Order itself - she had without ever asking for it, and she walked away from it without a backward glance. And she's still walking away from it - she's not a Jedi, she won't claim that title, she won't join Luke's new Order. Maybe she shows up from time to time and tells him some stories and shares from knowledge, but she won't train him, and somewhere deep down he knows that he will never be as much of a Jedi as she is even though she doesn't claim that title anymore, and part of the reason because is she won't help him.
And for Ahsoka's part. Anakin returned from the Dark Side for Luke. He couldn't - or wouldn't - return for Ahsoka, who he trained, who knew him and loved him and would have died for him. He tried to kill her and would have if Ezra hadn't saved her. But this boy, who shares nothing with Anakin but a name and half his DNA - he was enough to bring Anakin back. She wasn't, not with everything they shared, not with all the times she'd almost died for him, and he'd saved her, and she'd saved him. How do you not kind of hate someone for that?
And besides, he's trying to bring back the Jedi Order. The Order that cast her aside as soon as it was convenient for them, the Order that allowed Anakin Skywalker to become what he did and was too blind to see a Sith Lord under their noses and that died for those mistakes. And sure, he's trying to do it differently, he's trying to do it better, but what does this boy know of better? What can he know of the sins of the Jedi Order? When he speaks of the Order with stars in his eyes, what can he know of the pain that she suffered? That so many suffered? How can he correct what he doesn't understand?
I just think it would be cool to see more of that explored in canon.

My Thoughts on Episode 3
...I'm gonna be honest, I do not have high hopes for this episode from how many of the people I follow have been going on angry rants about it.
Here we go, I guess.
----------
Well, at least now there's one acknowledgement that Sabine is Mandalorian.
----------
"Learning to wield the Force takes a deeper commitment."
...I swear to god, I really hope they're taking the "Sabine's just a little Force sensitive" route, because is Felony is actually trying to imply that anyone could be Force-sensitive if they just "tried harder" then I'm going to fucking scream.
If anyone can be Force sensitive, why hasn't everyone tried? What was the point of Order 66 and why were the survivors of it so important? Why the fuck didn't some random person just turn into a Jedi and take out the Emperor, why did they have to wait for Luke?
It just...it ruins literally the entire franchise and makes everything pointless and meaningless, if that's what Felony is actually saying here.
----------
I've never been more bored in my life than watching this sequence.
----------
*long sigh at calling Sabine a Jedi*
----------
Y'know, this would've been a perfect time for Jacen to just say- "I want to be a Jedi, like dad!"
Like, are we just supposed to forget that Kanan existed at all??? Not even a name drop???
----------
"I can't use the Force, I can't feel it...not like you do."
Great, that's just great.
So Felony's going the- "just try harder and anyone can be a Jedi!" -method, that's...just...
*UNHINGED ANGRY SCREAMING*
"The Force resides in all living things. Even you."
Yes, Ahsoka, because it's the literal life-blood of everything, but that doesn't fucking mean that anyone can use it. That's why there's a section of the population called Force-sensitives, because they're sensitive to the Force and can therefore use it.
If everyone had that capability, then that classification is useless and also---again---this calls the entire fucking Star Wars franchise into question and makes the entire thing meaningless!
"If that's true then why doesn't everyone use it?" "Talent is a factor."
No, sensitivity to it is a factor.
God, I'm not even 15 minutes in and I'm already so fucking pissed.
----------
"The Jedi Order would not have accepted her, she is not an acceptable candidate." "By their standards."
Yes, Ahsoka, by their very strict standards that are-
YOU HAVE TO BE FUCKING FORCE-SENSITIVE, FOR FUCKS SAKE!!!
"Standards that were proven over a millennium." "And failed."
No, they didn't fail---the Jedi Order was very successful and helped spread good all across the galaxy until your shit asshole master fucking massacred them and then spent the rest of his shitty miserable life desecrating their culture.
I legit fucking hate Ahsoka now.
Like, I really do.
TCW was the only show that actually made me like her, and honestly I can't fucking stand her now.
----------
So Sabine and Ahsoka are bashing on Huyang for...following protocol so they aren't noticed by their enemies and/or other hostiles?
Seriously?
Do they want to get caught or give Morgan time to escape, if they're found out?
...
Fuck it, I'm rooting for the villains to win for once---I hope they kick Ahsoka and Sabine's asses, kill or capture them, and leave Huyang to go help Luke rebuild the Order.
Huyang deserves to be appreciated and he should be somewhere where he, and his knowledge of the Jedi, is---not with a couple of jackasses who'll harp on him for even the smallest thing, even if it helps them.
----------
PURRGILS!!! MY BABIES!!!
----------
Oh, so now they'll follow "standard Jedi protocol" when it's convenient for them? After just bashing Huyang for it? And bashing him for it the whole show?
Wow.
I don't think I've ever wanted to fucking deck a character this bad since Anakin---it's kind of ironic that it's Anakin's padawan that's making me feel this way, though.
Huyang deserves better.

Star Wars Characters at a Family Wedding in Ireland
ANAKIN - Gets extremely nostalgic about his own wedding and makes his adult twin children groan in embarrassment. Is in such a good mood that he isn't even mad when Leia calls him a fascist for voting Fine Gael, and manages to give his grandson an effective pep talk.
PADMÉ - So resplendent that the bride is almost jealous but honestly how could you be upset with her she's just so nice. Gets giggly tipsy over dinner and waltzes with C3P0 afterwards. Touches up literally everyone's makeup for them throughout the night and does a better job than the actual makeup artist.
OBI-WAN - Waits til the night is winding down then magically locates a squeezebox, fiddle, a guitar, and a tin whistle and hands them out to start a sessiún. The sing-song goes on until 5am and it's all his fault. His signature song is 'The Lass of Aughrim' because it makes him feel all literary.
R2D2 - Has at least four too many double Jamesons and literally starts arguing with the wall. Shmii finds him passed out under a table the next morning, wherein he swears he's not drinking until Christmas.
C3P0 - Wrecks the heads of the hotel staff over dinner with all his requests, to the point of embarrassing the other people at his table. Conducts impromptu ballroom dancing lessons while the band plays and charms the pants off everyone with his patient explanations of how to foxtrot.
LANDO - Pulls out a deck of cards and starts a game of 21s in the corner. Absolutely swindles everyone. It's okay though because he puts his winnings behind the bar so nobody has to pay for their drinks after that.
AHSOKA - Brings enough weed to share with a chosen few, like an absolute queen. Ends up hanging out in the loo for ages rolling for herself, Sabine, Maz, Kanan, and eventually Ben. Despite her relative stillness and quiet, she enjoys the music more than basically anybody else and people will quote her fondly slagging Anakin over dinner for the next 20 years.
SABINE - Camera queen who tries to look like she isn't enjoying herself. Fools nobody because she keeps grinning and snort-laughing. Her photos are a thousand times better than the photographer's and are the ones that the couple use for their album.
HERA - Helps Leia gang up on Anakin about politics because goddamn it, Leia isn't wrong. Hands out isotonic powder sachets and paracetamols to everyone before they go up to bed. They're gonna need it.
EZRA - Gets so hyper after consuming so much 7up that Hera has to send him to bed before the DJ takes over from the band. Sneaks down later for the cocktail sausages.
DIN DJARIN - Couldn't get a babysitter so he's tucked up at home watching The Late Late and hate-tweeting it.
GROGU - fell asleep in front of The Late Late. Delighted when somebody brings wedding cake to the house the following day.
KANAN - Literally will not be at peace until the DJ plays Kenny Rodgers' 'The Gambler' because it's not a wedding without it. Once that's done he insists on 'Come On Eileen'. Somebody's gotta be the keeper of the flame of tradition, after all.
CHEWBACCA - Requests all the group dances. Rock the Boat, The Siege of Ennis, The Macarena, The Walls of Limerick, Chain Reaction. Bullies everyone into joining in, except Ben who is the absolute antithesis of craic.
LUKE - Every wedding requires at least one merrily drunk uncle and Luke does not disappoint. Suit jacket? Gone. Top buttons? Open. Tie? It's now around his head while he stands on a chair playing air guitar to 'Hotel California'. Ends up puking in a flower pot. Iconic.
LEIA - Would have been okay if she stuck to wine all night but a single gin and tonic on top of the shitty hotel merlot and suddenly she's having an hour-and-a-half political argument with Anakin. Embarrasses the hell out of her parents, brother, and son by smooching Han repeatedly while dancing.
HAN - Organises the pre-ceremony pints. His sotto-voce asides are funnier than anything in the speeches. Quietly sings along to 'Brown Eyed Girl' by Van Morrison in Leia's ear while they dance, prompting all that smooching.
FINN - Sneaks into the hotel's public bar to check the hurling scores on the telly then reports them back to all the lads. Keeps his wits about him regards alcohol so he can take care of Poe later but eats so much cake he feels sick.
POE - Holds court in the bar, telling long anecdotes about his life that are only 75% true. Dances and flirts with all the aunties and nanas and makes them feel great about themselves. It doesn't convince Ahsoka to give him a spliff, though, because she is immune to his charms.
ROSE - The boomers yell at her for getting the DJ to play 'Celtic Symphony' by the Wolfe Tones, but she calls them hypocrites who are oozing postcolonial shame. Anakin offers to adopt her because now she's the centre of the politics argument. Knocks it out of the park at the sing-song because she knows all the words to at least 20 rebel songs.
MAZ - The first to place her handbag down on the dancefloor so as to coax the other nanas onto the floor. Jovially flirts with every man over 18 and under 60 that isn't her blood relation. Asks Poe to marry her.
REY - Finishes at least three other people's dinners. Sings along very loudly to every song that the band AND the DJ plays. Can't dance at all but it doesn't stop her. Should probably check on Ben because she knows what he's like but decides that tonight he's his family's responsibility. Loses her entire shit when ABBA plays.
BEN - Zero craic, God help the poor craytur. Drinks brandy as an affectation and starts quoting James Joyce after four of them. Gets extremely mopey after brandy number six and ends up having a long heart to heart with his Grandda Ani. Cries then throws up. Auntie 'Soka gives him a joint to settle his tummy. Subsequently feels better and then knocks everyone's socks off singing 'Raglan Road'.
SHMII - Begs off the party at 10pm because she's 97 years old. Still makes sure that everybody takes their hangover down to breakfast the following morning for a Big Feed of rasher-sausage-and-pudding, and maybe hair of the dog if they're desperate.

2, 5, 20 for the ask game🥰🥰🥰
Eyyyy thank you anon!!
2. What character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them?
Honestly? Jango Fett, and the Mandalorians as a whole.
I didn't have much of an opinion of Jango when I started, except admiring how neatly Mace decapitated him. I don't have much exposure to Legends, either, so I was relying almost entirely on Lucas's canon. Now, though- with Jango Fett being portrayed as a wonderful father and this warring culture being held up as the one that takes in all the poor :( orphaned :( children (hey who made those orphans I wonder), this one that puts such a good and pure emphasis on family- and always being held up as superior to the Jedi- I simply cannot stand them.
I tend to steer clear of fics that have Jango and/or put a lot of emphasis on how amazing Mandalorian culture is. No thank you. I'm a cripple. I have no patience for fetishizing a culture where your worth is entirely determined by how well you can fight.
5. Worst blorboficiation?
Anakin fucking Skywalker.
He's a fascinating character! Absolutely he is! But, notably, he also slaughtered thousands of innocent sentients, was entirely responsible for one massacre and played a key role in another genocide- (I think Palps would've unleashed Order 66 with or without Anakin by his side, but that doesn't change the fact that Anakin willingly helped him.) Reducing him to a wee babe who was stripped of all agency and was merely buffeted by the winds of fate - simply tripping into committing genocide - makes him so much less interesting. Let him have agency! Let him be a horrible murderous bastard! That makes the bits where he's not hit all the harder!
20. Could anyone have fixed Anakin?
No.
Other people have put it much better than I have- @gffa, @antianakin, and @david-talks-sw all come to mind- but... yeah. Not even Ahsoka, regardless of how much Certain People might like to think she could have. But only Anakin could've fixed Anakin- other people could've helped along the way, but he would have needed to choose that path for himself, and he... didn't.
It was there for him. But he chose not to. And that makes his story all the more tragic- that he had every opportunity to choose differently, and instead fucked himself over, again and again and again.

In the Expanded Universe, the Clone Troopers didn't have inhibitor chips. If Ahsoka and Rex were pre-existing EU characters before TCW, how would Order 66 play out?
As someone particularly unfamiliar with the EU, I'm basically going to have to give my best guess here based on what little I know about how clones and clone/Jedi relationships were treated pre-TCW.
So the first option is the one that seems to be most in line with what the Prequels were going for which is that the clones are slightly less than sentient and so while the relationships between the clones and the Jedi might've seemed friendly, it wasn't the deep friendships we saw from TCW, but perhaps closer to like a co-worker's politeness than anything else. So if we just assume that the plot of TCW itself goes pretty much the same, Rex and Ahsoka are on a star destroyer coming back from Mandalore when Order 66 hits, then the way this one goes is that Rex simply doesn't hesitate when given the Order. This is very likely to end in Ahsoka's immediate death since she is surrounded by clone troopers on that bridge. If we want to be kinder to Ahsoka for some reason, then let's say she manages to pick up on the danger and is able to somehow flee the bridge, then she'd just escape immediately. She'd probably kill several clones on her way to a shuttle because she wouldn't really care about keeping them alive the same way we see happening with Obi-Wan and Yoda in ROTS; it's them or her at this point. Rex would either be killed in her escape or just left behind and we'd never know what happened to him after that.
The second option is the anti-Jedi version where the reason the clones are so quick to turn on the Jedi is because the Jedi have treated them badly and so the clones hate them and aren't opposed to their genocide. In this case, obviously Rex and Ahsoka's relationship would be very strained, he's with her on this mission because he's been ordered to go by Anakin probably but there's no friendship here and never has been. The aftermath of this probably goes exactly the same as option 1, honestly. The most likely outcome is she gets immediately murdered because she's surrounded by people who want her dead and aren't going to hesitate, but if you wanted to be REALLY kind to her, then she gets a split second to react to the danger and finds a way to flee the bridge and probably kills several clones on her way out to a shuttle. Maybe this is the one where she uses Maul as a distraction, knowing it will mean the deaths of the clones, but instead of going after Rex, she just goes after her own escape. This would probably lend itself well to a darker Ahsoka, honestly.
Option 3 is based on what little I know of Karen Traviss's abominations and in this one I guess Ahsoka would realize while spending time with Bo-Katan that wow the Mandos are just SO MUCH BETTER than those stinky Jedi and she realizes she's been in love with Rex this whole time and the two of them decide to stay with Bo-Katan and become Mandalorians alongside the rest of the 332nd or something. Maybe they met up with that dude Kal Skirata and his Null sons or whatever when taking back Mandalore because everyone seems to think this dude shits gold or something.
TL;DR It would suck, pretty badly. The best option for me is option 1 and Ahsoka is immediately killed along with most of the other Jedi during Order 66. It doesn't break continuity with the films at least and it's thematic that she dies from Anakin's choices, even though she'll never know it.

I am so tired of Ahsoka!
She wasn't needed and now she is literally everywhere. I go on on any social media and serach for Prequel Trilogy stuff and I can't go 1 minute without seeing something about her, when she wasn't even in the films. I honestly am so mad that I wasn't part of the fandom before Ahsoka was created because she kinda becomes "the most important person for Anakin (fuck you Obi-Wan and Padme)".
It's a bit sad since she could have been a cool character. Just make her master someone else and don't make her the most special and powerful Jedi. And if they wanted to make her a padawan of a "special" master than maybe introduce a new Jedi who idk maybe left the Jedi Order long ago and now they return because of the Clone Wars. This would mean that: a) Ahsoka still has a "special" master b) because she is trained by a master who only recently returned to the order she has training different than any other padawan c)due to her master she has controversial opinions on some Jedi customs. This could be a good point of conflict for her character (do I listen to my master or the Order) and also doesn't make unnecessary changes in the story of film characters (Anakin, Padme, Obi-Wan and others).
Honestly, I think that when you do a serial for a beloved film you should ensure that the characters you fit with what the films tell us. The Jedi Council didn't want to make Anakin a master, so why would they give him a padawan. As ignorant as they could sometimes be, I think that connecting "Anakin is not mature enough to be master" with "Anakin is not mature enough to have a padawan". It's really something I think they would notice.
I 👏 HAVE 👏 BEEN 👏 SAYING 👏 THIS 👏 FOR 👏 YEARS 👏
She is COMPLETELY unnecessary to Anakin's story and always was. Every story beat she supposedly fulfills is already fulfilled by another character. I kinda wonder if it was an attempt at whitewashing Anakin's character (Lucas was involved in TCW and apparently wanting Anakin to be more appealing from what I heard, and this was back when the prequels and Hayden were NOT as loved as they were now because my generation wasn't as huge a fandom voice as the old OT-loving guard) and making him more appealing but no. Anakin is a human garbage can and that's what makes him such a compelling and interesting character!!!
I honestly would probably be a huge Ahsoka stan if TCW was envisioned as its own thing and focused on her as a character on her own instead of making her Anakin's Most Specialest Beloved Padawan Who Is Best At Everything (She Can Even Fight Grievous omg!!!). Back then we were so starved for female characters, we had Leia and some Padme mainstream but that was it (you only knew about Mara Jade in Legends and she wasn't in the mainstream merch or anything from what I recall), and much as I love a good dies-of-sadness joke, Padme is often simplified to that and shoved aside even though she's a really cool and complicated character in her own right. I will give Ahsoka credit for blazing the way for female characters to be more included in Star Wars, but it falls flat when she's just propped up as Coolest Wisest Bestest Jedi-but-not-a-Jedi-actually-she's-better-than-the-Order Girlboss. Now we're back to Only One Female Character Above All Others. (Rey and Rose were ruined with bad writing, Hera and Sabine are wonderful but definitely not mainstream (and probably being butchered in the show), Gina Carano ruined our chances of any more Cara content, Peli was just a cameo last season, and Bo-Karen also got the Always Right Beloved TCW Girlboss Treatment.)
Imo the Council was pretty much always on the money with Anakin (at least with what they knew of him - they didn't know of the Tusken murder spree for example) and there's no way Anakin was ever ready for a Padawan or that anyone in their right mind would give him one. In MY episode III fanfiction when Favored Main Character Got A Padawan, Obi-Wan got the Padawan because he had more experience teaching, even at 12 I knew Anakin had no business teaching anyone. Also, it was NEVER previously canon that Padawans were assigned. Masters chose them as in the Jedi Apprentice series. I will NEVER let that go. Ahsoka being assigned to Anakin was so contrived.

This is random but I was falling down the rabbit hole that is tumblr, and I came across Star Wars Au's because like every five months the idea of Anakin, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, Padme, Rex, and like teen Luke and Leia in the fix-it fics latches onto my brain even though I haven't watched anything star wars related in over a year.
And I feel like people are sleeping on a random idea that I love??
So basically Padme survives out of pure spite instead of dying because there's no way she was going to let her kids live in a world where their father is a sith lord. Obi-Wan never takes Luke or Leia to Tatooine and so he doesn't really know what to do with himself because his former padawan is now a sith and he hates that he didn't see it coming but also...HIS PADAWAN IS A SITH WHAT DOES HE DO??
So he decides to go and try to find any other surviving Jedi because hey why not. He ends up meeting Ahsoka, who by this point has decided to help take down the Empire. They reunite but eventually he tells her that Anakin is Vader.
She doesn't believe him at first but after a while connects the pieces and it's tragic and she's upset and she realizes that she doesn't know if she can actually do it. If she can take down the empire while knowing that she is hurting Anakin, who, while a sith lord, she still cares about because they were basically siblings.
Padme ends up helping Ahsoka by giving her the idea of not actually directly fighting the empire but trying to de-chip all the clones. So she proceeds to find Rex again, which leads to her meeting with the bad batch, which leads to them telling her about the kid (Kanan/Caleb) who survived. So now Ahsoka is on a mission to de-chip every clone she can find and Obi-Wan is on his own mission of finding any and all of the remaining Jedi that survived.
Eventually somehow Luke and Leia, having grown up with knowledge of the force and becoming Obi-Wan and Ahsoka's padawans, end up forcibly dragging their father kicking and screaming out of the darkside and back to the light.
But like.
Ahsoka.
Hunting down clones.
Tricking them because she's not technically a Jedi and then they're like wha??? and then she's just like 'also you have inhibitor chips inside you and we need to get them out' and sometimes there's a fight but she's awesome and most of the clones, once freed, are either sympathetic to the rebellion or they at least agree to help her and she ends up having a full on base with special med bays and all this stuff, and even if a clone is freed and still wants to support the empire she lets them, just asks that they don't reveal this place because she knows better than anyone that sometimes the 'good' side isn't right for someone and they need to choose their own path and she hasn't been found by the empire so far.
I just...yeah.
Cause she knows about the chips.
and she could help.
But I feel like her first priority in the actual star wars canon (which honestly, what even is the canon at this point) was taking down the empire and I feel it would change if she knew it was Anakin.
And really, I just like the found family vibes the entirety of tcw has and yeah.

Mace windu and anakin for the detailed character meme?
A more detailed character meme! Send me a character and I’ll answer…
Mace:
What I like about them: He's got this incredibly strong moral core, and despite his fanon reputation, he's amazingly understanding about the things that are genuinely difficult to understand and come to terms with. Mace understands anger and Falling, yes, has struggled with these things even, but he's come through as one of the strongest, fairest, most respected Jedi in the Order, and he is... honestly every time I think about him and Obi-Wan reacting to Depa waking up from her post-Fall coma, I'm just like [jennyslate-drunkhistory-im-like-SCREAM.gif] about their understanding and forgiveness and listen he gets such a bad rap for being 'stern and unyielding' but his actions in canon are all so positive and his fanon reputation is entirely built on The Specific Delivery that GLucas insisted on for all the actors in TPM and just. [scream] I love him.
What I dislike about them: The comic where he lets Palpatine have access to Anakin at 12. It's not canon anymore but I don't Like it.
Favourite moment: His immediate response to Anakin telling him about Sidious. There wasn't any doubt, he just fully believed this admittedly unstable subordinate, because even if Anakin lies a lot and everyone knows (see: Padme situation), he fully believes that Anakin wouldn't lie about something as important as this. Runner up is Mace complimenting R2D2 in TCW.
Least favourite moment: Uhhhhh I don't have a least favorite moment, so to speak? I do hate his character design in TCW and '03, it's... I know everyone's features are exaggerated for the animation designs, but for him it feels as though the features exaggerated for Mace were kind of um. Riding the line of racism.
A situation with this character that I want to see explored more: I wish for more scenes where he and Anakin are alone together. I want to see one or both of them in a slightly negative situation, like injury or illness, and the other having to handle that. Both directions are good, in different ways. More generally, I want to see more one-on-one interactions between Mace and younger Jedi. I want to see those character dynamics! Show me Mace with Depa or Aayla or Ahsoka!
An interesting AU for this character: I'm always down for those "Mace survives RotS" AUs, they can be so good.
A crossover: Not counting the obligatory "Mace and Nick Fury have to interact" MCU crossovers? Hmmmm put him in Twilight. Just to see what happens.
OTP (or OT3+ etc…. just… favourite ship): I don't really do a lot of Mace ships (just the time-travel one), but I really enjoy seeing Mace/Qui-Gon in fic.
Other ships? I did write Mace/Jaster recently for an event, and that was fun, but also funny since I'm open to Mace/Jango. I'm also, obviously, a fan of Mace/Anakin in a time-travel context.
BROTP: Depa (obviously) but also...
NOTP: I'm sorry but Ponds. The power/age difference bothers me and the character dynamic I imagine is much more Best Coworkers than anything romantic.
An assortment of headcanons! - Generally kept to short cuts and fades before he went with shaving. Not counting his padawan braid, I don't think he really experimented much with growing out his hair for braids or knots or locs. Googled a few haircuts for black men and I think a normal fade and 'the Duke' might be about the area I'd consider him in. Might have done some shorter locs (like two inches) or the like, but that's about it. - He 100% knows that Padme and Anakin are going at it like rabbits whenever they're in driving distance of each other. He does not know they're married, but he knows Padme's pregnant before Anakin does. - I want to say that he doesn't have any food allergies, but does have a topical allergy, like skin contact types? Maybe space eucalyptus.
Anakin:
What I like about them: Absolute disaster man. Wet cat energy. Gender as hell. Unhinged. So easy to save and push in a better direction. So easy to turn into a complete monster. Impossible to be boring.
What I dislike about them: Bro he killed babies.
Favourite moment: Bickering with Obi-Wan in the arena in AotC while not even noticing that Padme's being all competent behind him.
Least favourite moment: He murdered babies. So. The Tusken slaughter.
A situation with this character that I want to see explored more: Willing confession of the Tusken slaughter and submitting himself to the fallout without whining about it or continuing to try to justify it to himself.
An interesting AU for this character: I have dozens for him. Just. So many AUs about this lovable moron.
A crossover: Anakin commits a homicide in 1890s London and now Sherlock Holmes is trying to find him.
OTP (or OT3+ etc…. just… favourite ship): Rexanidala, slight bias to Rexwalker.
Other ships? So many??? Anifives, Lumakin, Windwalker, Codakin, Barrakin, Foxakin, Anakin/501st, Bokkin, Anakin/Organas, Obikin (if only as a reader)... the list goes on.
BROTP: Obi-Wan and Ahsoka, definitely.
NOTP: Despite my openness to Obikin as a reader, and it having sixteen years and raising from age nine and years parenting, I run into that shape of a block with An*soka, despite them having significantly less Messy Dynamic in all directions. Like. It exists! I see it! But I do not wish to read it. Just. Cannot brain it. I tried and it doesn't work for me.
An assortment of headcanons! - Fucking. Gender. - Develops a shellfish allergy around 20 - Likes spiced food (like Indian 'mixed spices', rather than 'burn your mouth' spicy) - Had a rage crush on Mace as a teenager that nobody is ever allowed to know about (it's not as good a secret as he thinks)

sorry for ACOTAR posting at 7am on a wednesday but unfortunately this series has given me brainrot even though I hate it💜 anyways my most recent though is (also unfortunately) about R/hysand and how much more I’d have approved of F/eysand if SJM really just had F/eyre go “fuck it, we’re evil now”.
So like, for a bit of explanation- I love the Star Wars series, I have issues with it ofc but who doesn’t rn, and the one thing I’ve been consistent on is that Padmé Amidala is a far better woman than I could ever hope to be because if I were in her position and Anakin Skywalker had come to me and said “baby I made you an Empire” I honestly would have just said thank you and gleefully bitched about the paperwork later. I love that dynamic between characters, and while I understand why Padmé as a character would never do that, I love fic exploring the concept of if she did.
There’s a fic on ao3 called How to Take an Empire that while not exactly the concept I described above is in that same vein of accepting Vader as Anakin and vice versa and it’s a fic I love immensely and highly recommend fans of Ahsoka Tano read at some point. And I personally think it’s very apt to compare R/hysand to Darth Vader (never Anakin tho😤).
R/hysand is introduced to us as a vile, cruel, sadistic man and spends the rest of the series acting in the same manner, just with the authors and characters explicit coddling. He’s spent the last fifty years working as the feared right hand to the woman who essentially made herself queen of Prythian through trickery, deceit and (supposedly) long con type plans. I’m getting a very Palpatine x Vader dynamic from them. R/hysand does all the dirty work (read: war crimes) for Amarantha that Vader does for Palpatine and then doesn’t have the decency to have his own prequel tale (god forbid) to show the inevitability of his fall nor the subsequent redemption through love and compassion.
Where for Vader, redemption = death because some crimes can never be forgiven, for R/hysand we get empty justifications on why he did the horrible things he did and the narrative forgives him for it.
My original point tho, tangent aside, is that if SJM had the balls to actually double down on all of his awful behavior- looked us as readers in the eyes and said “this is your man, these are all the horrible things he’s done, and this is still your man” I’d have been okay with it if F/eyre had looked at that and said “yeah, I’m okay with that actually”.
But she didn’t and now we all have to live with it.

Obi wan was kind of a hater, he looked down on all of anikans closest relationships aside from padame…who he probably was attracted to (she had slot in common with the duchess)…he gave Rex a hard time even though in the end Cody was the one who turned on him and Rex was able to resist the order 66…he was always talking about R2D2 even through the droid had proven himself in battle countless times and saved many lives and Jedi
Obi-Wan was very critical, cynical, and hypocritical in regards to his treatment of Anakin’s relationship with Padme, too.
Yeah, Obi-Wan did genuinely grow attached to Anakin, in spite of his constant denials that he did until the end of Revenge of the Sith when it was too little too late to make any sort of change for the better. That genuine affection he developed for Anakin definitely was also one of the major reasons why Obi-Wan kept secrets from Yoda and the Council about Anakin’s romance with Padme and his growing unease in regards to his former padawan’s increasingly dangerous and erratic emotional/mental instability.
However, Obi-Wan Kenobi was also a deeply cowardly, insecure, hot-tempered, proud, and self-centered man. He built a stubbornly inflexible shield of arrogance, criticism, deceit, manipulation, and willful denial to avoid having to take the risk of truly facing and fully owning up to what were, at least partially, consequences of his bad decisions and flaws. iIn a lot of ways, he is similar to what Anakin becomes as Darth Vader until the end of Return of the Jedi, which is what truly makes them great foils when you really examine their dynamics, growth, regression, and aftermath in the series.
The take that Obi-Wan Kenobi was “emotionally mature,” “kind,” and “vastly morally superior” to Anakin is ridiculous to me because he really wasn’t. Yeah, technically we see Anakin committing more atrocities against others throughout the galaxy than Obi-Wan Kenobi because it’s a story about his fall from the side of the Jedi Order’s even more corrupt space soldier cult of enemies in the Sith/First Order from within the confines of a very corrupt and misguided cult-like Jedi Order that he had a one-in-a million chance of succeeding in because of his bad choices, his background, the Jedi Order’s neglect and unwillingness to meet his needs, and Palpatine’s deceptions and manipulations.
Obi-Wan doesn’t go dark, in spite of repeatedly being an asshole, because the plot required for him to remain as a deeply misguided tragic failed mentor character for the Skywalker boys in the lesser evil cult of two deeply fucked up space soldier cults.
However, it’s also not a story about Obi-Wan being this amazingly brave, kind, selfless, and supportive guardian and friend who got dealt an unfair hand by the Skywalker boys treating him like garbage all the time either. More often than not, we witness him being the asshole in his relationships with Luke and Anakin by abusing his position of authority and/or seniority over them, not the other way around.
For the most part, I don’t believe he intentionally went out of his way to seriously hurt Anakin, Ahsoka, or Luke. However, he was willing to knowingly take that risk to do so repeatedly when he was befriending them/working with them because Obi-Wan was more terrified of not fitting in with Yoda and the Jedi Council by being honest with himself, being honest with those he cared about, sticking up for those he cared about, trusting his own heart, and honestly admitting that he kept being an ass-kisser and kept following a fucked up Jedi code because he had no faith in his own self-worth.
Granted, Anakin did genuinely go overboard in his obsession with finding Obi-Wan to get revenge after the events of Mustafar. Obi-Wan and Yoda did have every right to feel angry about him going dark. However, they were the ones who allowed for it to become a possibility for Anakin to go dark at all in the first place as his guardians and teachers who repeatedly deceived him, endangered him, exploited him, gaslit him, isolated him, manipulated him, and willfully neglected his emotional/mental health and well-being as a child under their care by allowing him to speak alone to Palpatine, a politician they all had suspected was shady (sans Anakin since he had no prior experience with politicians before the age of 9 and was being groomed by him over that time) on the Council for the past 13-14 years now “for the greater good.”
It’s not like taking Palpatine down came from an entirely genuine desire to stop their enemies to protect other people because they were such “kind” and “selfless” people either. Yoda and the high Council also suddenly cared about taking the Chancellor down 14 years later into his term because their decision to have the recruits of their military/organization follow him was coming back to bite them in the ass by ruining their reputation in the eyes of the general public throughout the galaxy. Yoda and the majority of the high Council repeatedly decided to vote on being servants of the state to Palpatine and other politicians they knew were corrupt for “the greater good” for years now. They very conveniently only decided that one of them “must be a Sith they had to take down” after he requested them to join war, the high council agreed, and their organization/military’s incompetence and toxicity got exposed to the general public of the galaxy in ways that became harmful to their public reputation on a widespread scale, too. It doesn’t matter that they actually turned out to be right about suspecting Palpatine to be a Sith Lord, or that they had good reason to be suspicious. It’s all too transparent just how self-serving Yoda and the high Council actually are being when they suddenly decide to turn on a corrupt politician they enabled and supported for when the consequences of choosing to follow him have finally made them look bad in the eyes of the general public throughout the galaxy.
Anakin technically became worse in terms of morality because he got recruited to join the even worse military space soldier cult/dictatorship in the galaxy as Darth Vader. Yeah, that is, at least, partially on himself for his own bad decisions and eventual lack of effort to try better after he got put in that suit for a while, though I don’t think it’s fair to place the blame all on just him. He was constantly dealing with horrible mitigating circumstances of being an abuse, manipulation, and oppression victim with compromised agency under corrupt authority figures within broken systems his entire life in one way or another from which there was never a safe escape offered. He likely suffered from a handful of some moderate traumatic brain injuries to his prefrontal cortex from being electrocuted by Sith lightning, considering the changes in personality, decrease in empathy, flat emotional affect, and poor long-term decision making skills.
However, though the entire Jedi Order didn’t deserve Order 66, I don’t think many of them were these “blameless” victims or “noble” failures like Obi-Wan and Yoda kept trying to convince themselves they were after the Jedi Order’s and Republic’s fell either. I think a lot of them were and/or grew up to be very arrogant, cowardly, deceitful, hypocritical, manipulative, and willfully in-denial assholes who kept trying to lie to themselves about still being these heroic, kind, brave, and selfless soldiers of the Republic for “the greater good” because that was easier to accept than honestly acknowledging that they had been willing to knowingly commit these atrocities and hurt people in their fear of the Sith and fear of these corrupt institutions they served because they were more concerned about their needs, their public reputation, and their security than they were about doing the right thing when it seemed the odds were stacked against them.
Aside from protecting Anakin and himself from the condemnation of the Jedi Council by being quiet about his relationship with Padme that he knew about, I don’t really remember a time in the books, movies, or the clips of the TCW (2008-2020) cartoon when Obi-Wan was actually supportive of Anakin’s crush on Padme or his relationship with her. In Attack of the Clones, he forbids Anakin from getting romantically attached or involved with her. He insists that Anakin leave Padme behind after she gets knocked out for a minute in a battle on Geneosis when he sees that Anakin wants to go and rescue her after that happens because “he needs him here.” The TCW TV series actually makes Obi-Wan’s criticisms of Anakin’s attachment to Padme and his attempts to pressure him to choose between her and the Jedi Order look even worse.
At least, in the movies Obi-Wam never had been through a similar experience as Anakin to compare to where he fell in love with someone outside of the Jedi and felt pressured to choose between them and that ridiculous “no attachment” Jedi mantra, so his lack of empathy and criticisms in regards to Anakin’s feelings for Padme and their relationship feels more understandable. In TCW, though, Obi-Wan has also gotten romantically attached to someone else and felt conflicted over choosing between her and the Jedi Order, but he still refuses to have any sort of understanding for Anakin in this scenario. It makes him look like more of an asshole and a hypocrite.
They never should have made Obitine a romance in TCW because it doesn’t line up with the rest of Obi-Wan’s established characterization, and it makes him look like more of an asshole for not being understanding of Anakin’s attachment to Padme. In the movies, he was a hypocritical ass-kisser of the Council/Jedi Order at nearly all costs, but he wasn’t usually that blatantly hypocritical and law-defying of the Order. His flaws were there, but he lacked the courage, outside knowledge, and self-reflection abilities to fully acknowledge his shortcomings.
There’s no reason why a Jedi shouldn’t be able to feel safe and accepted by the Council for having and maintaining close relationships with other people, while also being Jedi in their day jobs on the side. So long as neither seriously interfere with the other, it shouldn’t have to be an issue, and I don’t think it would have necessarily become an issue of becoming unhealthily codependent, obsessive, and possessive for Anakin, Padme, or other fallen Jedi if they could have been able to feel safe and supported being honest about caring about their loved ones, needing help, and wanting more freedom in their personal lives without the constant threat of being shunned, ignored, or dismissed by their bosses, mentors, and the government if and/or when they were constantly lingering in the background.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, just because Obi-Wan Kenobi was a very bad guardian and friend who was a deeply flawed person with very emotionally/psychologically abusive/ cult like brainwashing tendencies in regards to Anakin and Luke, it does not mean that I also think he was a heinous mustache twirling Disney villain who deliberately set him up to fail from the very beginning because he was just that petty.
I just so happen to view him as being a very arrogant, cowardly, cut-throat ambitious, hot-tempered, hypocritical, impatient, emotionally immature, manipulative, exceedingly status conscious, self-centered, and willfully in-denial bastard. He was generally willing to throw other people under the bus who got in his way of being able to obtain the security of external validation from those authority figures with positions over him within a broken Jedi Order because he was too afraid to admit that he lacked too much security in his own moral self-worth and agency to do the right thing. Then, after it all shattered to pieces, at least in part, because of his own bad decisions, he and Yoda were way too guilt ridden and proud to accept the truth that they really hadn’t been the brave, kindhearted, or noble heroes of the story that they initially set out to be, but assholes who knowingly practiced, supported, and used abusive, exceedingly controlling, isolating. and morally wrong methods and practices to try and achieve worthy ends because they were easier and safer than actually taking the risk of facing their fears by learning to let go of air tight control and toxic conformity instead.
I’ve said that Anakin went on to develop similar negative traits, too, albeit in different way, but he’s the only one of his surviving predecessors from the old Jedi Order/Republic who consistently gets framed as wrong for it, never gets rewarded for it, and doesn’t get to be rewarded with any sort of happy ish ending until he finally does. Obi-Wan and Yoda never truly learn their lesson (the Obi-Wan Show doesn’t count as legit character growth for him because he goes right back to being an asshole again in the OT films, anyway), and ultimately get rewarded for being assholes who unrepentantly continue justifying behaving and treating others as pawns in shitty ways for whatever they consider worthy ends.
Yet, the narrative of the OT says I’m supposed to feel sorry for them and let them off the hook for treating Luke in shitty ways to use him as a pawn for their own ends without any remorse, just because they’re on the lesser evil of two deeply messed up sides. The way they’re written in the narrative of the OT movies gives me no real reason to be sympathetic towards Obi-Wan and Yoda, aside from just not being Sith, the greater evil side of the enemy, but I don’t know why I should be seeing them as heroic, sympathetic assholes, or reformed assholes at all in the narrative of the OT that Lucas treats them as? When do they actually ever do or say anything remotely apologetic, genuinely kind, and selfless for anyone else in the movies, unless it somehow benefits their own ends of “the greater good?”
Even that “sacrifice” that Obi-Wan made for Luke in A New Hope where he let Vader kill him in front of him was something he had an ulterior motive for doing. He wanted to become a force ghost to be able to train Luke to kill off Vader in the afterlife, and further motivate him to do it. The only surviving well-meaning asshole from Luke’s predecessors of the old Jedi Order who seems to genuinely grow to understand the true meaning of remorse and selfless sacrifice at all in the OT movies is Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, and the narrative expected me to see him as more unsympathetic than Obi-Wan and Yoda, even though he had more meaningful character development and reformation in the last 20 minutes of Return of the Jedi than the “good guys” had throughout all three movies.
Yoda sucked in both the OT and PT movies. Obi-Wan was an asshole in both the OT and PT movies, too, though the PT movies definitely did make me more sympathetic towards his charactef. I get a better understanding of why he is an asshole in the PT movies than the OT movies, he’s a victim of a shitty Jedi Council, too, and he does face a partial negative consequence for being an asshole by helping push away Anakin. Ewan McGregor really did a wonderful job of making me feel for Obi-Wan as a character, even though he was generally an arrogant, hypocritical, and misguided asshole. However, when I look at all of his bad behaviors, choices, reactions, words, and traits throughout the franchise as a character on the whole, Obi-Wan Kenobi was even more of an asshole in the prequels at times than he was in the OT films. Just because Ewan McGregor and the script of the prequels made me more understanding of why Obi-Wan’s character acted like an asshole on a number occasions, that doesn’t mean I thought that made it cool for him to be one either. I could say the same thing about Anakin Skywalker, Padme Amidala, Mace-Windu, Qui-Gonn Jinn, the overall Jedi Order as a galactic superpower law enforcement/military, Padme Amidala, Jarr Jarr Binks, and the overall Republic government in the prequels.
Do I think they were cartoonishly evil mustache twirling villain Darth Sidious/Lord Palpatine level assholes who were secretly malicious psychopaths in their intentions all along with no genuinely pure motives or potentially redeeming qualities? No. They all believed they had good intentions and they all had so many poignant moments of great bravery, idealism, kindness, idealism, and optimism. Unfortunately, they all failed and got dealt consequences that were far worse than they deserved because their fear of honestly and openly taking more risks to face any sort of potential conflict or threat to their beliefs, family, lives, or lifestyle from the outside consumed them more often than not until it was too late.

“Honestly, just stop it.”
pref for from lost to a sea of troubles but, y'know, whatever sparks
hi!!! ok so yes absolutely this is set after lost to a sea of troubles (knocking on the wrong door au), where anakin is basically kidnapped by Sith!Obi-Wan, who posed as an innocent civilian in order to lull him into a false sense of safety (they have sex)
(1.1 k) (warnings: dark, dubious everything, sorta dead dove but not like. REALLY. stockholm syndrome but make it space, sorta conditioning? these tags are so much darker than the actual fic, but that's definitely what's implied but not stated)
Kenobi sighs when he sees Anakin. Anakin doesn’t like the sound, but he also definitely doesn’t like the way hearing it makes his chest feel tight, like his skin has suddenly shrunk down to squeeze around all his muscles. The Sith is disappointed in him.
It shouldn’t feel like the worst sort of reality, to know that the Sith is disappointed in him.
But it is.
Kenobi sets aside the tray of food and steps into Anakin’s room. No. Not his room. His cell. It’s important to remember that. It’s incredibly easy to forget.
“Darling, you’re bleeding,” he states the obvious, stepping forward as if expecting Anakin to simply offer up his injury for inspection.
“No, I’m not.”
He is. He’d tried to gnaw off the cuffs around his wrists. His teeth and his wrists hurt now, but he doesn’t want Kenobi to know that.
“There’s blood on the ground.”
“Water,” Anakin says dismissively, even though he knows the lie is as transparent as the blood on the floor isn’t.
“Hm,” Obi-Wan says. He touches the force suppression cuffed wrists and the thing has the audacity to expand at his touch, widen until it slides down to sit halfway down his forearm instead. “Honestly,” the man sounds exhausted. “Just stop it.”
“Never,” the answer comes quickly and easily to Anakin’s tongue.
He hopes it rings truer than it feels.
“I hate to see you hurt like this,” Obi-Wan—no, Kenobi—admits. “Please cease trying to escape these bindings. They’re for your own good, darling.” “Don’t call me that,” Anakin snarls.
“Ah, I am sorry,” Kenobi says, though he doesn’t sound very sorry at all. “Would you prefer I call you Anakin?”
His name in Kenobi’s voice makes him feel weak. It reminds him of all his past transgressions. Every time during that one night when he heard the man in front of him say his name like that and shivered from how good it sounded.
He wished it didn’t still sound so good. So right.
Maybe if he had access to the Force, he’d be able to ignore his own inclinations to arch into the Sith’s gentle touch to his bleeding skin. Maybe it’s shouting a warning, loud and clear, but Anakin can’t hear it.
He couldn’t hear it that night either, though Ahsoka could.
“Of course you couldn’t,” Obi-Wan murmurs, pulling bacta and bandages from the pocket of his robes and studying the wound. Without Anakin’s connection to the Force, his shields are practically non-existent. “I never had any intention of hurting you.”
“You’re hurting me now,” Anakin points out because it’s true. He’s being hurt every moment he spends suspended in this weird form of captivity, where he’s allowed to leave his room—no, cell, and access every part of the house he wants, but he has no chance of finding any comm or any sort of weapon.
Obi-Wan shakes his head and hums. “You did this to yourself,” he tells him. “Look at you, you still have blood at the corner of your mouth.”
With a wet thumb, he reaches up to wipe it off. Anakin should flinch away, but for some reason he does not. “I hate you,” he says dully, aas his body shivers and tries to arch into Obi-Wan’s delicate and gentle touch. He makes the pain go away, Anakin’s body whines. He makes us feel good again.
If he could forget how good Obi-Wan made his body feel, he thinks he could live a much better life in captivity. But he can’t. The Sith before him has starved him from all other forms of contact, after giving him the best fuck of his life the night before.
That last part should not be related, but Anakin has found that his mind keeps trailing back to it without his permission.
The way Obi-Wan had touched him so…surely. As if he were already positive about his claim over him. The way he’d been so…so good. He’d made Anakin feel whole, even though Anakin hadn’t felt missing before he’d felt his touch.
No. No. It’s ruinous to think such things. Ruinous to indulge in those memories. It had all been a lie. Obi-Wan had been lying to him, hiding his Sith eyes.
“Yes and no,” Obi-Wan says, moving to the other wrist. He glances up at him before ducking his head back down. Anakin looks at the few pieces of hair that fall over his forehead, and then he looks away. No. No.
But Obi-Wan keeps talking as if he hasn’t heard Anakin’s thoughts, though Anakin knows he has.
“It was never truly a lie,” the man says. “More an omission of truth. You must understand, I didn’t want to. I simply knew it was necessary. And, Anakn. Love. You cannot pretend that you have not benefited from being in my care. You sleep regularly, you eat regularly. And not to mention, the war is over. I gave the galaxy their criminal. They gave me you.”
Anakin turns away to look at the wall. He knows the Sith’s words are true. He’s been shown the footage.
If anyone is looking for him, they aren’t doing it publicly. They’re too busy celebrating.
“I made your favorite,” Obi-Wan tells him. “I had to look all over for the spices, but I finally found them in an antiquities shop. I had a bite and I started crying, so I feel confident in this being up to your standard of heat.”
Anakin detests the way the Sith speaks, as if they’re friends. As if they’re more. He’s casual with him, but a sort of casualness that speaks of familiarity. One that does not exist between them.
He also detests the way he waits—craves—for the finishing touch of this ritual. After Obi-Wan has bandaged his second wrist, he raises both to his lips and presses kisses into the skin above, below, and beneath the bandages.
Anakin shivers at the touch of his lips. He tries to pretend he doesn’t press up, press forward, but he does.
“Please, darling,” Obi-Wan murmurs, standing from Anakin’s bed and reaching for the tray of food. He sets it where he’d been sitting. There are flecks of what Anakin knows must be tigoalarun, in the rice. A seasoning native to Tatooine and known for its heat.
“Stop this foolish attempt for attention. I will give it you, whenever you want. I just cannot stand it when you hurt yourself,” the Sith says, and he reaches out to stroke over Anakin’s curls. He forgets to flinch away.
He’s too distracted by the seasoning. Tigoalarun. Even his master had not been able to find it for his sixteenth birthday.
He looks up at Obi-Wan’s kind and tired and handsome face, and his mouth begins to salivate. He tries to convince himself it’s because of the smell of the food, but Obi-Wan smiles like he knows differently.

To say a drive with the Emperor was nerve-wracking was common among those who worked for the Empire. This was common throughout the whole experience: shaky hands, sweaty palms, and stuttering if you were particularly more affected. The head of the Empire had secured his wary trust among many, often cornered politicians to give more control or materials in the name of the “greater good for the Empire.”
Keyti was an exception to the politically charged fear. Hers was from hoping to survive an interaction as she had been a beloved prize to the former Chancellor in her adolescence until she developed more than he lost interest. She counted her stars, thanked the Force, and moved on. She had survived and was determined that by now, there was nothing that Sheev Palpatine could do to break her more. Even behind the power of the dark side, she knew he was nothing without the stepping stones of others he had disposed of and manipulated to gain this title. Without Lord Vader, he was nothing.
Arriving at Mustafar was relieving, seeing the slowly changing landscape she had heard about. The Emperor had sensed the solace, eyes glancing her way, a small smile forming on his pale lips. “Eager to return to Lord Vader?”
That was one way to put it. Though, she was. She knew she was safer near him. At the very least, there would be a witness to the horrors the Emperor caused, even if Vader didn’t stop the punishment. Her yellowed eyes moved to the vile man sitting across from her, his loyal guards at his side to protect him (as if he needed them), and she pursed her lips momentarily, looking back to the lava rivers twisting through the decimated plains.
“I’m eager to begin my assignment, nothing more, your Highness.”
The captain spoke over the intercom to announce the landing procedure, the ship rocking slightly as the landing gear was deployed. Keyti straightened up, letting her hands rest on her lap while she kept a blank look on her face.
Amara’s earpiece buzzed momentarily while she was within the fortress tunnels, pausing as the Emperor’s arrival was announced. Keeping her datapad in hand, she made her way through the extensive network to the elevator, jabbing the button to go up to the landing dock while she hit the button on her earpiece. “Any news for Lady Keyti?”
“Yes, Corporal, she is arriving with the Emperor.”
Her heart sank at the news, and her auburn eyes widened as the elevator rose to the ground level; she said,” Thank you.” She only hoped that Keyti was alive and in one piece. If what she had been told about the Force was right, the Emperor would have been aware of the former aristocrat’s hatred for him already—not that he would honestly care.
Keyti waited for the Emperor to exit, taking a slow breath before leaving the small craft and hobbling down the ramp to continue to fake her injury. She couldn’t let him be suspicious of her distrust, but she wouldn’t doubt it if he already had hints. The Force would show her feelings, and she could only silently hope nothing would be done.
She saw Vader’s familiar form entering the landing pad, his eyes glancing between the two before pausing and bowing to his Master.
“Rise, Lord Vader. You have an apology to give to our dear Keyti for the injury you’ve given her,” the Emperor said, though not fully believing she had been injured. Still, it was nothing to worry himself over if she felt like she had to hide the fact that she hid herself in his apprentice’s assault on Inquisitorus. He would review the footage soon enough and begin a plan.
Standing, the Sith Lord glanced at Keyti, unsure if she had been injured. He didn’t sense pain or discomfort from her, and he was sure she would be radiating it. Their time on Serenno had proven that to Vader when he had taken a sizeable amount of flesh out of her calf even when she had tried to mask it - and the many times she’s had a flare-up with her back. Still, he obeyed, giving a momentary bow of his head - shorter than what he had given the Emperor - while his voice lowly rumbled out,” Forgive me, my Lady. I cannot control my actions when I’m in that … state.”
“I’ll forgive you if you give me aid to the medical wing - personally,” she smiled softly, teasing him with a slight glare in response from him before the Emperor made a pleased sound.
“It would be a small price, but I believe that Lord Vader can make an exception,” Sidious gave a reserved smile, glancing at his apprentice as the taller made his way to Keyti.
Only because you’re ordering me to, Vader absently thought, holding an arm out to Keyti to help her out of the landing pad to the dark onyx hall. Keyti gave a slight bow of her head to the Emperor, hobbling her way out while using Vader as a crutch. Once farther away, he pulled from Keyti, arms crossing,” Why are you feigning an injury?”
Glancing back, she looked up at him, voice soft,” I wasn’t expecting him to circle back to Inquisitorus so quickly. Forgive me if I had to fake a few things to keep this,” she reached down her binding, carefully pulling the drive out,” safe from him knowing … apologies for the hiding spot, I didn’t have any other place to put it under short notice.”
“Keyti,” his yellow eyes move to the drive, holding a hand out,” why do you insist on mistrusting him? Your loyalty—“” I know, my Lord. My loyalty to him should not wax and wane … but please. Review the footage. Alone. This was … difficult to watch, but you need to see it.” Her eyes pleaded, searching his exposed features while his gaze held steady toward her. As she put the drive into his hand, the sensors picked up on the warmth, and his eyes moved to the small stick, observing the light glinting off of it.
“Why do you believe that?”
“When you saw the Jedi, you hesitated. When I was with him to protect the children, you still hesitated. I want you to see that you can control yourself even if it’s not at the forefront of your mind. Though, one might think you’re fond of me since I am unharmed,” she couldn’t help but tease, grinning while making her way through the hall before spotting Amara as she rushed through the halls.
“Thank the Maker, you’re safe. Oh, Lord Vader. Forgive me,” Amara paused once she was beside her friend, bowing her head. “Corporal Amara Beklau. I’ve been tasked with cataloging the tunnels beneath the fortress.” The relief she had shown before formalities caught him off guard momentarily, glancing between the two new additions to his castle’s staff.
“Ensure its accuracy, Corporal, and make reinforcements where necessary to the tunnels.” He glanced at Keyti again while tucking the drive away, abruptly leaving the duo. She let her gaze roam along his enormous, imposing form before smiling slightly. Indeed, that was a good sign since she wasn’t immediately killed.
Amara watched Vader briefly, briefly expressing surprise while looking up at Keyti. She spoke when she believed he was out of earshot, a small, teasing smile forming on her features,” I understand your little crush now.”
Keyti only replied with a swift punch into Amara’s shoulder. Glancing up, she saw him glance back, brow arching before vanishing around the corner to locate Sidious again. Her face heated up in embarrassment, and she looked to Amara, who only gave a grin,” You’re welcome.”
The Sith warrior’s eyes momentarily bore into her while her lips pursed momentarily,” You are lucky I enjoy your company; otherwise, I would take a page from our Lord’s book and kill you.”
Amara tilted her head, her smile fading. “I have never seen him without the mask. Even though that allows for seeing his eyes, I’ve never seen his entire face. He is quite handsome … past, y’know, the clear signs of being infected.”
Yellow eyes lingered on Amara for another few heartbeats before she looked back down the path he had taken,” I’ve only seen him without it a few times. Considering he needed medical attention after Inquisitorus, I doubt he would have thought to put it on. With also being in his castle, and with a visit from the Emperor…”
“I have no doubt about that, but … what was that drive you gave him?” Her head tilted, auburn eyes glancing over the other as she motioned to follow her to her quarters.
“Only because I trust you and you already know the truth of my past, I’ll tell you.”
Struggling to keep up with Keyti’s stride, she nodded, glancing up at her,” Of course. I won’t tell anyone else. Was it from the fortress?”
“Yes,” she glanced down at her, giving small nods to other staff members as they passed the halls and entered the sizable elevator. Amara’s thick, dark brows furrowed as she moved in behind her, opting to be quiet while another staff member slid beside the two.
Once in her quarters, Amara sat on the ottoman at the foot of the bed, watching as Keyti moved to pour some wine for them both. “Inquisitorus was ultimately a failure in retrieving information from the Princess. As soon as Lord Vader arrived, from my understanding and the footage I saw, he suddenly had one of his episodes after someone had greeted him.”
“Another episode happened?” Amara’s veins felt cold, yet she still reached out to the offered glass as Keyti sat beside her with a nod. She had been lucky to never have to witness one personally, but she did fear the possibility that she would.
Sipping her wine, Keyti stared out the window she had, overlooking the barren trees and orange glow in the sky from the lava. “Yes. I doubt that anything the sergeant had said would cause him to be triggered, but something did happen. I had been able to leave the landing pad to get further into the fortress when I noticed he was distracted by Reva. Then, I saw the Princess, a boy her age, and two Jedi. I thought maybe something they had done had caused the shift, but the kids were terrified, Amara. I couldn’t let them just die like that, even if I was helping members of the Rebellion.” Amara watched while her eyes cleared back to blue, brows furrowing while she shook her head before continuing,” I’ve already lost part of my calf to him. I can only imagine what being eaten alive would feel like … especially to kids so young. They couldn’t have been older than fifteen or sixteen.”
A gentle hand on her shoulder made Keyti’s gaze return to her, and her friend offered a soft smile:” If it’s what felt right, then it was the right thing. If it were me, I wouldn’t let them face that either. What happened afterward?”
“He found us,” she swallowed harshly, taking a sizable drink from her glass even with the pain medication still in her system. Really, she needed it after the day. “Lord Vader found all of us and began to come closer as the male Jedi ignited his saber and convinced the woman to lead the kids away. The hall got cold and dark, and then these dark, muted flowers started to peek through the floor panels. It was strange, and they had begun to lead towards me but stopped before moving towards the man. Vader hesitated before he started to try to get towards him. Even when the boy had started up one of the remaining cargo ships, Lord Vader’s pursuit was mainly on that male Jedi. That leads me to believe that they knew each other in some way that lingers when he’s blinded by the hunger.”
“Do you have any idea who they were?”
“No, I don’t know many Jedi since they were eradicated for the most part. The ones I did learn of, I eradicated. I’m sure I could access files, but after I returned after getting Reva medical attention, I wanted to review the footage. The cameras did show him watching us in the hall as if trying to figure out something, but I don’t know what. He still attacked, but he hesitated, and he didn’t pursue the children specifically.”
“And you gave him the recording?” Amara asked uncertainly, brows furrowing. Keyti, I do not know if that was a wise decision. What if it triggers another one?”
“Considering he fed by now, I doubt it would.”
“I suppose we’ll know when the Emperor returns to Coruscant … but, strangely, he was in an episode and still targeted that man.” Amara’s brows furrowed momentarily, humming while sipping at her glass. “As you said, that would be a relationship that’s enough to recognize even when he doesn’t have mental clarity.”
“The Jedi did tell me that Lord Vader would recognize him, but the story would be long. He must be someone that he knew perhaps before the Empire.”
“Do not dig into his past, Keyti,” Amara warned, watching as her friend only shrugged while she sipped her wine.
“His past doesn’t matter to me. Only his present and future.”

After a long hour of punishment at the hand of Sidious, Vader made his way to his chambers, ordering everyone to stay away. The staff knew that if anyone dared disobey, they wouldn’t survive five seconds after an interruption. Moving to his meditation chamber, he settled on the chair before pulling the drive from a pocket as his body ached. While in his meeting with the Emperor, news came that Rebel forces had bombed the fortress, and nothing was salvageable. However, after reviewing this footage, he wondered if it may be a good thing. Eyes stare at it momentarily, still surprised that Keyti had even risked her life to obtain it for him. Hitting a few buttons on the panel, a port opened close to the arm of his chair, and he plugged it in, looking at the monitor as the various camera angles in the fortress pulled up.
Pressing a few more, he rewound the footage to the beginning with his arrival, brows furrowing as he could remember getting there and the sergeant greeting him. Pausing, he saw a glimpse of Ahsoka in the corner. His shoulders squared while his eyes scanned the multiple monitor recordings, seeing her disabling alarms. Looking closer, he saw Obi-Wan find the boy who had managed to locate Princess Leia’s cell, calling his name softly.
His name was Luke. A sharp pang of pain pierced his chest, memories of the plans he and Padmé had begun to discuss resurfacing. But he quickly brushed them aside, his attention returning to the monitor. He watched as Obi-Wan used his lightsaber to open the door, revealing the children. They embraced, and a thought crossed his mind. Could he be a friend of hers? He shifted his gaze to another monitor, where he was closing in on their location. His brows furrowed as he tried to recall why he had been so compelled to go that way.
His features relaxed at Keyti’s arrival to see the group, pausing when she motioned them to go the other way. Obi-Wan lighted his saber, and Keyti spoke. Naturally, he noticed that Ahsoka didn’t trust her. However, when he was at the end, he heard Keyti mention saving the children and made a low hum in his throat. A weakness. He straightened when Obi-Wan mentioned Alderaan before Keyti and the Jedi started noticing the flowers.
Glancing to another screen, he saw Ahsoka guiding the children, trying to keep them from the worst carnage. His eyes moved back to see his pursuit of them before focusing on Obi-Wan. His expression was unreadable, but his anger began to rise again as his fingers dug into the arms of his chair. Observing the fight, he noticed Obi-Wan distracted by the moving cargo ship, and then the following exchange between his former Master and Padawan made his blood freeze.
“Luke got it started up. He really is like his father.”
“When his father isn’t starved.”
His fingers crushed the chair’s arms, watching as they escaped. He has a son. Ripping the drive from the port, he shattered it into his palm, letting the broken pieces fall before exiting his chambers to reach Keyti’s. His steps were heavy within the hall as his anger radiated in the Force, and he didn’t stop for formalities while he opened the doors to see Amara and her with wine.
Amara’s eyes widened, and she glanced at Keyti while putting her glass down on the dresser, able to feel his intense, radiating anger. “I’m goin’—”” Sit back down, Corporal. I’m sure Lady Keyti has already spoken of the events with you.”
She knew not to lie, only giving a solemn nod as the door shut behind him, making his way closer to the both of them. “How much of the footage did you watch? What do you know?”
Keyti put her glass down, trying to push the fear that wanted to mute her as she attempted to hide her shaking hands. “I stopped when I noticed the cargo ship’s departure, but by then, I was speaking to you through the Force. I was not paying full attention to it, not even when I saw the Emperor arriving. Should I have, My Lo—”” Silence.” He snapped, moving closer as his jaw clenched, the thin tendon across the cheek cavity tightening as his hands balled into fists.
“What do you know of the Jedi?”
“Nothing. I do not know who they are. I only knew Princess Leia. I had to get what I could onto the drive before I ran out of—” Her voice cut off as her throat tightened, watching helplessly as he leaned closer. Amara’s throat also began to tighten, eyes widening in alarm as her breath caught.
“The recording never existed. Neither of you will speak of this again. What happened at Fortress Inquisitorus was a failure. Speak of it, and you will not breathe again.” He loosened the Force choke on both women, pulling back as Amara inhaled shakily as he watched Keyti’s eyes water.
“Leave, Corporal,” she weakly said, glancing at Amara, who only nodded, not pausing to act formally as she made a swift exit. Waiting until the doors shut, she tried to steady her voice and ignore how the tears wanted to fall.” Who were the Jedi?”
“Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka Tano,” he simply replied while straightening, arms crossing over his chest.
Keyti lifted a hand to rub at her neck softly, voice quiet,” If either of them cross my path again, you will be given their decapitated head … but I could not let you kill the children.”
“This is the only time where that weakness was beneficial. Do not let it happen again.” Moving out, he was silent while he only knew the assault on Alderaan would be an answer to everything. If he could just see his son … perhaps he could understand how he survived.

Alderaan had been in the sight of the Emperor for long enough, especially after the destruction of Inquisitorus. The materials would speed production up, secure the Emperor’s final grasp of power, and he would be able to teach the Organas a lesson. Their lives would be a small price for securing his throne entirely — his power. More whispers had been spreading through the various regions, and a growing Rebellion was biding time to the right moment and opportunity to begin their attempt to push back against the tyrannical government. Using his favorite dog apprentice, he sent Vader to Alderaan to engage in a battle to ensure victory before the rebels could begin to gain footing. Then, his Empire would prosper and last.
Vader’s yellow eyes scanned the glimmering city, the familiar sight reminding him of memories he had worked hard to repress. It wasn’t too long ago that he was here training in a saber duel with Obi-Wan, trying to work towards becoming a Jedi Knight. Yet, it still felt like a lifetime ago. When he was still human. Still helplessly in love. Still good. Now, he was sure none of that remained in him as he turned as Appo approached him,” Sir, we are ready to begin the assault, just awaiting your orders.”
“Then begin, but if any children are captured, do not kill them,” he said simply, watching as Appo nodded with some surprise at the order before communicating to the rest of the fleet. His eyes moved from the clone to below, watching as chaos erupted as the Rebellion army started to work to ensure that the Imperial fleet could not break through. Soon, he would begin his own assault, but he wanted to simply watch a moment to see the legion do their work.
Blasts whistled in Vader’s notched ears while he stayed in place, watching as the Rebellion put up a fight he hadn’t fully anticipated. That was admirable even to him. However, all their efforts would be in vain. A gloved hand was raised to use the Force to stop a few blasts from hitting his chest, and dark robes moved within the bright sun as he made his way down a path. Tanned, gnarled skin felt the warmth of the glaring sun, seeping past the aperture within his cheek and nearly drying his mouth. Igniting his saber, the pale blade hummed red, and he plunged it into a few of the clones from the Rebellion while his stormtroopers began their pushback. Panic was severe within the Force while his blade infected those whom he speared, watching as they turned on their fellow comrades to unleash a new, unholy chaos on the battlefront.
Obi-Wan was with his legion, instructing them to do what they could to keep Alderaan from falling into the Empire’s grasp. He saw the black-robed Sith going through the ranks, watching in horror as anyone in contact with his lightsaber suddenly was infected. Kyber crystals could succumb to the virus? The General readied his own saber, gloved hands holding a slight tremble as he now felt uncertain about the fate of Alderaan. Still, they would try to keep everything secure — that was their duty right now, and he could trust within the Force that it would work out. Other newly appointed Jedi tried to limit the number of troopers as more chaos erupted from the clones, and some stormtroopers were zombified.
One of the new Jedi narrowly escaped a harsh swipe from Vader, eyes widening as she saw his face. No. It couldn’t be. Yet, the familiar profile of the Sith Lord was now unmistakable, the hint of the scar through his brow visible at certain angles of light as it had healed slowly through the years from the bacta treatments.
His pursuit continued, movements easily keeping up with Selonna as she tried to move away from his pale blade. No, this was wrong. Her voice was weak and heartbreaking as yellow eyes bore into her. “Master Skywalker, what has become of you?” She had just been a Padawan at the time of his disappearance, and the unforeseen circumstances of the war had propelled her to Knight status faster than expected. Anything to get their numbers back up from the decimation of the Republic. She had studied as best as she could, often seeking help from Yoda or Obi-Wan, who were the only council members alive, but nothing could have prepared her for the truth that had been hidden.
His jaw tightened at her voice, hand raising as Obi-Wan watched him use the Force to impale her on the blade. “Anakin Skywalker is dead.”
Elyndra was close, her green eyes widening at watching as the virus took hold of Selonna, screaming her name. Her heart shattered at seeing her dear friend jerking as he pulled the blade out of her chest. Selonna fell to Vader’s feet as he watched her, clicks and chirps emitting from him as his gaze moved to Elyndra. The order was simple in Selonna’s withering mind as the virus burned in her blood in an attempt to rewrite her DNA.
Kill her.
Fingers dug into the lush earth of Alderaan as Selonna’s body struggled to metabolize the virus, and a sound of annoyance came from him as he used the blade to decapitate her instead. “Weak.” Lifting his gaze, he scanned the battlefield as the Jedi constantly deflected blasters as clones fought back. Then he saw Obi-Wan observing, and his hatred burned brighter in his chest once more. His hand gripped his saber, and his eyes narrowed as he made his path toward his former Master. An inhuman growl escaped when he was met with the familiar defensive stance as blue-grey eyes bore into his, and he squared his shoulders once he met with Ahsoka not far behind coming to aid.
A soft whisper in his mind was familiar, yet often forgotten when he reached clarity after an “episode.”
Execute Order 66.
The Emperor was aware of his apprentice’s movements, sensing his feelings through the Force and the burning hatred. Only one individual could cause his apprentice to lose sight of the objective. His will should not be threatened by old feelings, and Sidious let out a soft hum while reaching to his apprentice in the Force, his voice barely a whisper as he gave the order.
Vader’s pupils contracted, and he suddenly rushed forward while the hunger burned in his belly as the inhibitor chip was engaged, blue and white blades stopping his assault as Ahsoka grit her teeth at the strength behind it. Her eyes widened when she saw the animalistic rage in his eyes, and the dread began to creep into her chest while her exhale became a mist near them. The air around them had chilled significantly, and Obi-Wan used the Force with her to push him back, their eyes noticing the flowers beginning to blossom at Vader’s feet as low guttural sounds escaped his throat.
Maker, protect us.
Padmé had seen the battle begin, ordering the children to stay in the palace while she rushed out to help. Even if it would expose her, she couldn’t be idle any longer, not when her husband was there.
Keyti had noticed the flowers, and her gaze lifted to a woman in white running closer, brows furrowing as she saw the two children she had saved weeks earlier close to the palace. What the kriff is happening? After she retracted her blade from a clone, she made a sound of surprise as someone else only took her down, glancing back to see Yoda get a clone to secure restraints on her. Her eyes moved back to Vader as she didn’t attempt to escape, and Yoda noticed, looking over as his own widened in shock at seeing the former Senator moving toward her husband. Was Padmé truly so foolish?
Lifting his arms to deliver a heavier blow towards Ahsoka after he had delivered a harsh injury to Obi-Wan’s leg, he stopped as the ghost of his wife stood in front of him, hands up to hold onto his arms.
“Anakin, stop,” she pleaded, brows furrowing as he stared at her familiar form.
She was a ghost—something of his imagination—but why did she feel so real? The shock had been enough to disrupt the hunger, and yellow eyes were scanning over her. He stiffened as her hand lifted to his injured cheek, thumb softly brushing along his cheekbone like she would before. Her eyes watered at the sight of him, what he had been subjected to for decades at the hand of the Emperor, as she could see him try to place her.
“I’m here. Ani, please, put your lightsaber down,” she pleaded, glancing at the pale blade as it hummed steadily before it suddenly clicked off. She looked over to clones beginning to make their way closer in an attempt to restrain him, putting a hand up. “No, stay back. Everyone, please. Just move back.” She couldn’t risk triggering him to be set off again, not when he seemed to be calming down.
Ahsoka refused to move, but Obi-Wan only took a haggard step back, watching Anakin’s brows furrow tightly while slowly lowering his arms. Clipping the saber to his belt, his large, gloved hands slowly moved to her face, watching as she leaned into the familiar touch with a saddened smile briefly on her lips. The hunger subsided momentarily, clarity returned, his eyes widening as he pulled her into a tight embrace, feeling her tremble beneath him. He buried his face into her neck then, clutching onto her clothing tightly as he could feel the tears welling up in relief of her being alive.
Tensing at him moving her, Ahsoka readied herself to protect Padmé, but his softness surprised her before she had to deflect more blasts as the battle didn’t pause around them. Glancing back to Obi-Wan, she saw him direct Keyti being taken into custody while they could. If they were lucky, they could keep Vader as well.
Pulling back, the hunger began to claw at his belly again, voice soft,” Leave. I’m not safe.”
“I can’t leave you behind again, Ani. Not when I just got you back. I don’t know what the Emperor has told you all these years, but it’s been a lie. I know there is still good in you, and I want our family together.”
“I will take care of the stormtroopers. Alderaan will be safe for now,” Anakin said as he pulled away. Then, he motioned back to the palace, “Get back inside.”
She nodded as she got to Obi-Wan’s side with Ahsoka, supporting him better as she watched him ignite his lightsaber again before starting to decapitate troopers. Not even the virus would be able to keep them alive, and Padmé averted her gaze from the brutality, voice soft to the others. “Let’s get inside. He’s back.”
Ahsoka wasn’t convinced as they helped lead Obi-Wan back inside to treat his burn, glancing back,” I’ll believe it when he doesn’t embrace the dark anymore.”
Obi-Wan refused to look back, his voice soft.” If it keeps Alderaan safe for now, we will accept him being here. Perhaps Padmé is correct. There may be some good in him still.” He hoped that it could be beneficial for the Rebellion—even if it was dangerous.

Keyti was silent in her cell, leaning against the wall to aid with the pain in her back as she had been waiting for what seemed like hours. The pain medication had worn off some time ago while she reflected on the attempted claim for Alderaan - still shocked at the unfolding events. Senator Amidala was alive, and not only that, but was married to Lord Vader. Still, her hands trembled from the fear of seeing his rampage continue after seeing his wife, hoping that she had been spared from it. Her head lifted as the cell door opened to show the Senator, her expression curious to the relieved warrior as she entered.
“Is Lord Vader stable now?” Keyti’s voice was soft and weak, but she needed to know. Her blue eyes searched Padmé for any sign of injury, but she seemed fine.
She didn’t expect the soft smile that came onto Padme’s features, nodding as she stepped closer.” Yes. He is stable. He’s also vouching for your release to Master Kenobi and Master Yoda. It seems you managed to make a positive impact on him, even through it all. If you are granted release, you cannot return to the Empire, however.”
“I did not plan to. Not when Lord Vader can also be free of that hell.” There would be nothing for her to return to but Amara, but even she knew that friendship wouldn’t give her the immunity that being close to Vader did.
“He isn’t free entirely from it, but eventually, he will be with time.” She turned and heard the cell open again, watching Obi-Wan enter with the key while he limped slightly from his wound. Still, the bacta cream had provided more comfort than he expected.
“Considering your previous help with the twins, we’ve decided to grant you freedom, My Lady.” He watched with interest as she seemed to relax, nodding.
“I’m assuming in exchange for any information regarding the Empire or Lord Vader?”
“He has said you would not know many of the Empire’s dealings, but I believe you know of his,” he let her move forward before clicking the restraints off, watching as she rubbed her wrists momentarily before a brief pained expression came over her features.
“He still kept his secrets, but I am relieved that one child I helped you save was his own. I don’t believe I would have been forgiven as easily if they weren’t.”
Padmé smiled, voice soft,” Both of them are. Leia’s identity has been easily hidden with the Organas, and Luke doesn’t exist on record. However, I believe that I can trust you, Keyti. My husband does, so I will.” Surprise coated Keyti’s face at the realization of Vader’s trust in her, which only caused Padmé’s smile to widen,” Despite what he may try to lead you on, he does trust you. Please follow me. Formal introductions are in order now if you’re going to be a Rebel.”
Unease settled in the warrior’s chest, but she knew she wasn’t in the position to fight back—not when Keyti was given a second chance that she couldn’t receive if she returned to the Empire. Though she would do anything to get her possessions back from Mustafar she pushed the thought away for now. She stood up slowly, wincing at the sharp pain that shot up along her spine.
Obi-Wan caught a fleeting glimpse of the pain, moving closer to offer his arm for her.” Are you injured, My Lady?”
“It’s something I’ve always had, just some damage in my back. I’ll be fine.” She hesitated but soon grabbed the robes that Obi-Wan wore, glancing at him with a silent nod of thanks.
Padmé stepped closer, looking her over while her brows furrowed,” do you need a wheelchair?”
“No, just pain medication when possible. I usually take Dotaxrin tablets. Vader will know.” Keyti leaned into the former Jedi more, and concern only painted his weathered features more as he supported her up.
Padmé and Obi-Wan exchanged glances, but Padmé opted to alert the med bay to bring medication to the sitting area, motioning them to follow her. Keyti followed, masking the pain as she glanced around the ornate decorations, making a soft sound of surprise at how even lush the cell block was.
As they entered the dining hall after a gradual journey from Keyti’s pain, she looked up to Anakin as he stood with arms crossed while Ahsoka stayed quiet for the moment. They looked at them once they entered, and Ahsoka only arched a brow momentarily before Anakin spoke.
“A flare-up?”
Keyti gave a miserable nod, causing Ahsoka to glance between them. Oh, it wasn’t a show. She watched as Obi-Wan carefully led her to the closest, plush seat she could, getting her softly settled down. It wasn’t long before a droid came in, holding a tray with water and the requested bottle. Keyti swallowed hard while another pain wave assaulted her spine, eyes shutting tightly as she heard Anakin’s low voice rumble out again to the droid.
“What is the dosage?”
“375 milligrams, extended-release as requested. How many pills are required?”
“Two if it’s extended.”
Obi-Wan glanced at his former padawan as he listened, noting what was needed for the warrior since he could quickly sense the pain in the Force. He could only imagine how easily Anakin could have sensed it if the medication had been prepared so swiftly. Keyti shakily took the pills offered by the droid, giving a weak nod as she slowly took them. Sitting back, she exhaled as the droid placed the glass of water on the table beside her,” please continue to take sips to aid in releasing the medication.”
Padmé said then,” We also will need a wheelchair. After this meeting, she will visit the medbay.”
The droid looked at her, nodding,” We will prepare for her arrival.” After the droid exited, Anakin moved closer, keeping his arms crossed. “How long has it been hurting?”
“I don’t know. Sometime during me being within the cell, My Lord.”
Yoda and the Organas soon entered the room, and the others looked over at them, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, and Padmé smiling while giving warm greetings. Keyti became quiet, trying to mask the pain again as she bowed her head. She noticed Anakin only squared his shoulders, keeping his arms firmly crossed over his broad chest. Glancing over him, she wondered about his connection with everyone else in the room and how he still seemed to be emitting Vader’s mannerisms.
Bail then spoke, sitting beside his wife,” It’s good to see everyone unharmed after that, but truly, we are happy with your return, Anakin. Unexpected, I do admit, but still relieved you’re back with Padmé. The past fifteen years have been difficult for her and the twins.”
The Senator smiled weakly, making her way to his side again. She held his bicep carefully as he stood as Yoda and Obi-Wan sat.” I know they’ve been difficult for him as well. I know the children will want to meet him soon, but I wanted to gather everyone for more formal introductions. Anakin is the only one who would know everyone in this room, and since we’ve agreed to release Lady Selus, she should also know everyone else and vice versa.”
Their eyes moved to the warrior, her tattooed hand rubbing at her brow quietly with her eyes shut in pain before opening at her name. Looking between everyone, she gave a slight nod,” Well, I am aware at least of who Master Yoda, Master Kenobi, and Ahsoka are. I’ve never formally met the Organas as I didn’t do many diplomatic missions like other Imperial officers. I would stand and offer my hand, but I’m in a lot of pain at the moment. Forgive my manners.”
Padmé softened, looking to the Organas,” Keyti is the one who helped the twins escape the fortress.”
Ahsoka glanced at Obi-Wan, who was simply observing everyone while also signing for Yoda, quiet as he often was in larger group meetings, before her gaze flicked to Anakin. His features were unreadable, but his gaze was outside to the balcony, watching the skies as they grayed with the threat of rain. She could only hope that the longer he was back with them, the more he would continue to turn to the Light again or at least become balanced.
Breha spoke then, her voice soft and her features gentle.” For that, we thank you. As for your pain, you do not have to worry about formalities. Thank you for helping them, and I’m assuming she knows the truth then, Padmé?”
“Yes. Lady Keyti is aware that Luke and Leia are our children.” Leaning into Anakin more, his gaze moved back to his wife, leaning down to only give a soft kiss to her head. There was a pause as the droid returned with a wheelchair, getting it parked to the side for when they finished the meeting before the door shut again.
Yoda glanced at Obi-Wan and the Organas, humming softly to get everyone’s attention before he signed. “Trust Keyti, how? Work with Vader, she has. Tell the Empire information, she could.” Obi-Wan nodded, continuing his interpretation for the Grand Master.” Yes, how can we trust her not to go to the Empire about the Alliance?”
Anakin’s eyes moved to him, lifting his head back as Padmé could feel how he tensed beneath her touch. “Lady Keyti has been assigned to me, and she knows better than to cross me if she wishes to stay alive.”
Keyti gave an exhausted nod, with a half-assed gesture of her fingers towards him,” My loyalty has never been to the Emperor. He has caused his own damage to me before I was of age, and I refuse to bend to his will anymore. The Empire’s role in aiding in Inquisitors before being assigned to Mustafar allowed me to leave Sho-Torun, where I was a Lady, but the people never enjoyed my presence since I killed my husband. I will not hide the fact that I did, but he mistreated me, and that is all I’m willing to explain for now. My Lord knows more details; perhaps in time, more of you will as I also learn to trust you. We have to simply take this gamble.”
Padmé glanced up at her husband as he watched while Keyti tried to adjust her sitting position, brows tightly furrowed in pain. Ahsoka’s eyes narrowed before she looked to Anakin, but as he nodded when the warrior had grown quiet, she leaned back in her own chair more casually. It would take time for her to trust her, but if her former Master had already formed his own, she could at least give more than she had in the fortress. Perhaps what she was saying is correct, but there was a small trickle of danger when the Emperor was mentioned. Especially before she was of age. Ahsoka could only speculate about its meaning.
Yoda nodded, humming softly as he signed,” The Order, you tried to join. Turned you away, we did. Too old. Led you down a dark path.”
Anakin’s attention was caught then, looking to Keyti,” You were?”
She looked up to him, giving a slight nod,” Had I known who you were, I would have told you. I didn’t believe it was necessary since I wasn’t allowed to stay … but yes, I came to the Order on my own when I was ten. I tried to hope that I could be trained, that I could be helpful. I was angry, and then Senator Palpatine noticed me in the halls. He took a liking to me, but when I turned twelve, he … lost interest, and I was soon arranged into a marriage.”
Padmé’s eyes widened while Ahsoka’s brows furrowed, the Senator speaking up,” That young?”
“Yes. The Emperor has a particular taste, and once I had grown out of it, I was sent off to be quiet. I refuse to be quiet now if you are willing to accept me as a Rebel. Though, I will not tell it to everyone in this room.”
Breha lifted a hand to cover her mouth in shock, glancing up at her husband as his jaw clenched. He saw how Anakin realized the meaning, his body tensing. His brow muscles tightened, and for a fleeting moment, he was glad he didn’t have to suffer that particular fate. He knew when she was trying to deceive, but there was no indication within the Force, and his voice came out rougher,” You do not have to continue. You will be safe here, just as I will be, if not welcomed more easily. I believe, for now, you should head to the medbay.”
Padmé moved from him, nodding to get her outdated datapad.” I’ll get 3PO to take her.” After she requested his presence, she looked back at Anakin with a soft smile. “He’ll be happy to see you back, Ani.”
“I’m assuming you have R2 then as well?”
“Of course, we couldn’t separate them. For now, I believe we can all return to our duties.” Scattered murmurs of agreement came as the group began to break up, leaving Anakin, Padmé, Keyti, and Ahsoka in the sitting area before a knock came. Peeking in, 3PO’s gaze found Padmé easily before he shuffled his way in.” You requested my assistance?”
“Yes, please bring the wheelchair to Lady Keyti and escort her to the medbay for treatment, 3PO. After that, please return to us.”
“Oh! Yes, of course.”
After Keyti’s departure, Anakin’s voice was soft, only audible to his wife,” her husband abused her. Treated her like a slave.”
Ahsoka watched them, unable to hear what he said, but noticing the shock on Padmé’s face before her lips became a thin line, she shook her head. Glancing back to the door where the warrior had vanished, she said,” How long have you known her?”
Turning, Anakin’s eyes moved to his former padawan, making her pause with the soft glow they seemed to hold as he thought momentarily. “Almost three years, I believe. Before being captured, she had risked her life lying to Sidious about her reason for being at the abandoned fortress after my latest … episode. She recovered footage, which taught me that Luke is my son.”
“Then I can trust her for that. She knew it was important,” Padmé said, moving closer to hug him again. He shook his head, and his large hands went to her waist.
“She was unaware of that at the time. According to her, she wanted me to see the footage to show that I hesitated.”
“Do you still have the drive somewhere?”
“No, I destroyed it upon hearing an exchange between Obi-Wan and Ahsoka.” His eyes moved back to Ahsoka,” I could not let others learn the truth, and since the fortress was destroyed by the Rebel airstrike before Sidious left Mustafar … no one else was aware.” He paused as another knock came from the door, watching silently as 3PO moved back into the room.
“You requested my presence, Senator Amidala?”
“Yes, we have someone for you to see again, 3PO.” She motioned to her husband, who looked at the droid he had crafted as a child, expression unreadable.
“Again?” He echoed, studying the larger frame of his creator before the familiar lines and features of his face beneath the scarring dawned the realization. “Oh, my circuits! Master Ani, you’ve returned! Oh, R2 will stop being a sad bucket of bolts now. Currently, he’s with the twins. They’ve been very interested in the details of the most recent invasion.”
“Lead us to them, 3PO,” Anakin said simply,” it’s time they officially meet their father.”
Padmé only grinned brightly, holding onto his arm again as her joy overwhelmed her fear of what she had witnessed on the battlefield. If he could converse and be close to humans, he would be okay … right? If he had hesitated, perhaps there was hope that they would be recognized even in hunger. “I think the one you need to worry about the most is Leia. She’s stubborn, just like her father.”
He looked back down at her, softening with a quiet, rough-sounding chuckle escaping his throat. “Oh, she is? Does that mean that Luke is more like you?”
“That’s what Obi-Wan says, at least. He looks like you the most, though.”
“They had a personality swap then?” As he grinned, Padmé could see the sharp canines her husband had now, heart aching for the modifications done to him, but they could have a med-droid look over him later. For now, she only wanted her family together for the first time in fifteen years as she returned the grin.
“They did, and I believe it was a funny little joke from the Force,” she laughed, leading him into the hall.

Hey everyone,
So I was going through a Bad Batch trailer analysis I had made before S2 premiered and saw something. The trailer is from about 8mo ago and I managed to get this screenshot.
Tumblr media
Omega is shown briefly with this boy, who appears to be about 3yrs older than her (anywhere from 2-4yrs older tbh). This is the only time we see him and the only convo/dialog we get is Omega telling him ‘let’s go’. I can’t tell what the light source is in the background, but they are clearly inside somewhere.
Here’s the same shot only I messed with it a bit in Procreate to try and make it brighter.
Tumblr media
There appears to be some kind of doorway or something behind Omega on the right, though it’s barely visible and I could totally be wrong. Despite the low quality we can see that the boy has a scarf, fingerless gloves and a casual tunic (nothing like what the rich/senators/powerful people wear). I haven’t really seen this kid discussed but I have 2 theories about who he could be.
**I HC the Clone War lasted about 4yrs. Idk how accurate/concrete the years are for SW**
Tumblr media
Theory 1–This boy is Petro, one of the padawans from Gungi’s group (the cocky kid). Considering we’ve seen Gungi already and knew for a fact he was gonna show up, it’s not entirely impossible that we’d run into the others. Personally, I was really sad we didn’t hear a thing about them from Gungi the whole ep (and that Echo didn’t even suggest contacting Rex?? Like yes Gungi belongs w/ his people, but Ahsoka!!! The others!!! I honestly thought that was how the padawans would tie into this season, though so far only Gungi is confirmed). While Petro is about 12 during the padawan/Hondo arc, this boy appears to be about 14/15, meaning about 2-3yrs of the war go by. If BB S2 is about 6mo after O66, that could work out (I think. Cuz Ahsoka would be about 15 during her time with the padawans and about 17/18 during O66). While Petro’s hair color is darker in CW, hair can change color over time. However, the texture of this boy’s hair is more wavy than Petro’s and his nose is straighter (Petro’s nose curves in). Yes we’ve seen Anakin’s straight golden hair turn to a long, curly chocolate brown, but usually facial features stay the same. All facial features ‘shrink’ as we age so yes, they do change in size, but they should still be the same shape, just proportionally smaller (unless surgery or something).
Tumblr media
Theory 2–This boy is Lux Bonteri. Lux is about Ahsoka’s age when they meet. Because CW is an anthology series, the only linear time progression we get is through Ahsoka aging (though there are some stories w/ out of order episodes). Since the padawan arc and Ahsoka training Lux happens in the same season, it’s possible that she met Lux after her time w/ the padawans. If so that’d put them both at about 15. As stated in Theory 1, this boy in the screenshot appears to be about 14/15 (Lux’s age in CW). Lux would be about 17ish in BB S2 which doesn’t really line up with the boy in the picture. However, we have already been introduced to Saw Gerrera in S1. It’s possible Lux returned to/stayed with Saw and the rebels on Onderon after Steela Gerrera’s death. That’d be a way to bring Saw back in since we just saw him that one time in S1E1. Also, Lux’s hair texture and color line up better with this boy and while his nose still has a bit of a button shape at the tip, the bridge of his nose is straighter than Petro’s. Only the ages don’t quite line up.
There’s also the possibility that we’ve never seen this boy/he is a new character. I could be totally wrong about my theories. We’ve gotten 2 new characters so far (Phee Genoa and Tawni Ames) so it’s not impossible to have another. I must admit that while both Lux and Petro check similar boxes to this mystery boy, neither match him completely. Lux would be almost an adult (17/18) while this boy looks to be 15 at the oldest (I HC Omega is 12 in S2) though his hair texture, color and nose shape matches this boy more than Petro. In contrast, Petro would be the right age (about 14/15 during BB) and we’ve already got confirmation that Gungi is alive.
I just wanted to bring this up cuz I rewatched S2E6 ‘Tribe’ and was going through some of my previous posts. Thanks for reading 💕
*Edit—I had a thought that it could be Kanan as well. We haven’t seen him since he ran off in S1E1 and because Omega knows Hera, she could set up their meeting. His nose shape and hair color are a match along with his age, though I think the hair texture is a bit different. However, given that he mistrusted CF99/Hunter the last time he saw them, I highly doubt he’d trust Hunter again.

He could barely feel the sun shine on his skin through smoke and clouds of Kadavo. Unwelcoming, poisoned planet with so many volcanoes he could literally feel the ashes on his skin. He didn’t look up as he and the other slaves were forced to step off the ship, just moved forward, subtly scanning the perimeter with the Force. The collar on his neck wasn’t exactly Force dampening but still somehow he wasn’t quite able to use It well. He was still able to feel Rex’s steady and calm presence as well as agitation of Governor Rushi beside him, but no Force jumping, Force pulling and definitely no Force healing was foreseen in the nearest future. He just knew that.
“Master Kenobi, you are the first Jedi I have ever entertained at our educational facility,” a voice spoke. He ignored it, still assessing the situation and surroundings both. “Few possess Jedi’s resolve. And your power of will is my greatest enemy,” the captor continued. He didn’t show him he cared for those words that sounded both like praise and assault. Then, in the matter of seconds the situation changed. The Force didn’t warn him, he did not felt Zygerian’s intention either. Faster than he could have noticed or intervene, the slaver pressed the button and sent seven togrutas flying.
“No!” a gasp escaped his  mouth as he sat up, momentarily awake. He looked around, noticing he wasn’t back on Kadavo, but in his very own quarters on the Negotiator.
Failure sounded from everywhere around. He was a failure. People were tortured and killed because of him.
A tremor shook his whole body as Obi-Wan slowly slid on the floor and covered his face.
“What have I done…” he whispered.
***
She couldn’t sleep. Ever since Zygerria and Kadavo Heliana couldn’t sleep and had spent too many hours here, training in the dojo, but everyone coped with damage in their own way. Anakin for example locked himself in the hangar, repairing every inch of jedi fighters and then moved to clones’ ones. Ahsoka preferred clones’ company, deliberately avoiding Jedi, playing subbak and eating sweets. Heliana stuck to the dojo and Obi-Wan… She tried talking to after the night she bandaged his wounds, but he wouldn’t come out of his quarters or let her in. Let anyone in, for that matter, cause Cody tried reaching his general and failed too. Heliana knew he needed time. They all did. Obi-Wan was never particularly expressive when it came to his feelings, just like a good Jedi should, preferring to deal with them on his own, but she wasn’t sure he would’ve succeeded this time. Something shifted in him and ever since he came back from Kadavo his shields stayed up. Heliana couldn’t get his empty, almost haunted look out of her mind, but since he was not letting her in and she knew better than to try and break in, all she had left to do was dealing with her own trauma in her own way. Her shoulder still felt stiff from the shot she took while escaping, so practicing kata sounded like a good idea to get back into her form. Honestly, she would do anything just not to think about what Obi-Wan had gone through.
”No!” The cry sliced across her nerves as a vibroblade, jolt shoving her off her feet, straight to the floor.
“Kriff,” Heliana cursed, sudden pain starting to buzz around her, crawling under her skin. “What the…”
“Boss, you okay?” Taker turned around, worried expression on his face. He was skipping sleep to keep an eye on his Jedi, even though she claimed to be alright.
“I’m fine,” she didn’t lie. The pain wasn’t caused by her fall, it was what caused it. just as fast as it started, the ache went away. Almost as if someone turned the water off. That could’ve only meant one thing: she felt the Jedi’s emotions and then the Jedi put his shields up.
Heliana frowned. Not good, she thought. She almost jumped on her feet and hustled away from the dojo.
When she entered the room he was sitting on the floor, half naked, only bandages on his bare torso, his face in his hands, fingers in his hair,  trembling. One look at  the soaked with blood white stripes sends Heliana three days back, to the night she was taking care of those terrible wounds, and it filled her with rage. Obi-Wan’s back was a mess of the cuts and burns left by electrical wip and the worst part was that no high quality bacta could’ve helped with those in just three days. But they definitely shouldn’t hurt bad enough to make Obi-Wan shiver that much. She had never seen him like that. In all the years of being a Jedi he’d endured too much physical trauma to let it hurt that much. It must’ve been something else.
He didn’t look at her, nor did he let her know in any other way that he noticed her presence, so Heliana walked to him and sat right beside him.  “Obi-Wan?” she called quietly, not sure if should show her presence with a touch. He seemed so hurt, so vulnerable that her heart was in agony.
What have they done to you?
He stayed silent, still not acknowledging her being here, as if drafted too far away in the thoughts and pain that were torturing his body. He looked lost, unable to pull himself together and that was worse than the blood on the bandages. The flesh will heal, but what about his soul?
“Obi-Wan, look at me, please,” she pleaded, sending a warm gentle touch through the bond.
He shrugged, finally realizing her presence and looked up, avoiding her eyes.  He couldn’t have looked her in the eyes even if he wanted, which he didn’t. Nor did he want her to see him like that, but the darkness of the room still hid most of it, so that is a compromise. Only feeling her being there doesn’t really help.
“I'm right here,” she tried to sound as calm as she could. “I've got you.”
He tried to say something but ended up producing a sharp cough. Heliana’s hand reached to touch his shoulder, offer support, anything, really, but stopped as she saw him flinch and slightly pull back. Then he whispered:
“Seven.”
His voice… His voice was barely a whisper, quiet and trembling, rippling with pain and desperation.
“What?” Heliana asked, confused.
Obi-Wan let out yet another cough before he’s able to speak again. “Seven togrutas are dead… Because of me..”
Heliana suddenly felt she was going to be sick and it took her a moment to realize that it was actually him. He wanted to scream until he would run out of breath, but he couldn’t.
“How are you okay with that? Seven lives…taken…” his snapp ended up yet in another cough, making Heliana’s heart skip a bit. This is not good.
Obi-Wan drew in a shuddering breath. “Get out.” he said shakily.
“No,” Heliana protested immediately. “I’m not leaving you. Not like that.”
Tell me how to fix this, her heart cried. The other side of the force bond felt like a brick wall. She still could feel the tremor and slight echo of the agony she felt before, but he wasn’t about to let her in.
“I’m fine,” he spat angrily, anger making his voice stronger.
Heliana shook her head. “You’re not.”
“You have no idea…’’ he started, but she cut him short.
“You’re right, I don’t. All I know is that you’re skipping meals and trainings. You haven’t talked to anyone. Haven’t left this room for three days and you have been shutting me out for just as long until this night,” she paused to let that sink into his brain. ”I may not know what exactly happened there, but I have felt what that makes you feel. So please, please,  stop telling me you’re fine. You’re in pain and I’m not sure how I can stop this.”
“Just go,” he ordered, squeezing his eyes shut. He couldn’t see her, not like that, pleading to help him, the man who was responsible for massmurder. It didn’t occur to him that it had been three days. For him time stopped right then and there on that platform on Kadavo.
A bit of silence fell upon them.
Then Heliana cried out, her voice cracking: “I can’t.”
Obi-Wan felt her one hand reaching and touching his face, her fingers gently running up and down his cheek, the other one gently wrapping around his wrist.
“I can’t,” she whispered again, and a sob that followed, almost crushed him. Then he felt a  ghost of her breath as she pressed her forehead to his, seeking comfort and giving it, both.
Tumblr media
Not longer than two seconds later Obi-Wan pulled back, though, letting her hand stay on his cheek. It was nice to feel human touch even if he wasn’t worthy of one. He had to face the consequences both literally and figuratively. So he looked her straight in the eyes, Heliana’s gaze filled with so many emotions, and he knew what she saw too. The look of a hunted animal that was. Because he felt like one and it was his very own doing. He failed. He was sworn to protect these people and failed. Crushing pain twisted his insides again.
His voice cracked as he spoke:
“I am a murderer, Heliana. Seven lives were taken because of me. Have you not heard me say this before?”
Her expression didn’t change. “I did,” she said. “But this isn’t true.”
“It is.” Obi-Wan noticed her chew clench. Stubborn as she was, Heliana disagreed. She always did that. How could she not see what he became?
He felt the urge to crawl out of his skin. How could she be so unbothered by what happened because of him? How could she be touching him and not be disgusted, how could she look at him like that? With this kindness and care, and a mirroring image of his own pain.
“Tell me,” she demanded, not taking  her eyes off of him. “Tell me what happened, let me be the judge.”
Let me help,  was what she meant.
Obi-Wan wanted to stop that right there and then. This was wrong. That was his mess and he had to deal with it on his own. She shouldn’t have even been here. That only happened because he slipped and lowered the shields for a moment. He was so exhausted, keeping them up…
“Obi-Wan,” she pleaded. “Do it. For me.”
For me. He almost chuckled. As if giving her a sense of his pain would’ve done her any good. It certainly would not and he wanted to keep her as far from that as he could. After all, she had her own fair share of Zygerrian hospitality and the only reason Obi-Wan still hasn’t mentioned that was because her injuries were also his fault. Had he not jumped in that pit immediately as he saw the governor, the mission would’ve run its course. He looked away, unable to see the cut over her eyebrow. The shiner near her eye was probably still there as well, invisible in the darkness of the room. Failure.
Heliana’s hand moved to his chin and made him look at her again. “Don’t do that, don’t drift away again.” she asked, a strike of pain running through her body at the look in his eyes. His gaze was the one of a broken man. Heliana knew he wasn’t able to deal with that weight alone. Whatever they did in that facility , it was definitely bound to break him and now she wondered if they actually could’ve done that. If not, his stubbornness and self-judgment  were quite close to doing that for them.
“You need to rest. Just let me help.” Heliana felt her eyes burn. Why wouldn’t you just let me help you?
Help… That was what he was trying to do there… Help..
Obi-Wan felt something inside him break. Like a wire that was holding what was left of him together. His shields dropped a moment later. A wave of the agony, guilt, desperation and embarrassment collapsed onto Heliana’s senses, making her gasp in shock. His emotions were wild, but his voice sounded very calm , scary kind of calm as he spoke:
“I wanted to help… I just wanted to help them.  Seven of them were dead the moment my foot stepped on the Kadavo. He executed them with one press of the button. I couldn’t do anything, I simply didn’t manage to. And then I had to choose over and over again not to do anything, because they would get punished, not me. I learned that the hard way. The moment I tried talking to Rex they striked the togruta beside me. The moment they thought I looked and one of them funny they would beat someone else not me. I… I had to protect them and instead had to watch. ”
Heliana stayed silent. For any Jedi watching innocent suffer would’ve been one especially painful torture, but for Obi-Wan… She knew him most of his life and never once had he not tried to help those in need. Never had he walked by without getting into the fight to protect those who couldn’t protect themselves, even if he had to risk his life to do so. Never. What those Zygerrians did,  was able to break him, they knew exactly what to do to make him suffer most. And she wasn’t there to share the burden when he needed to. She let him brush her off with a smile, pretended his exhausted gaze was just because of the physical torture.
Heliana’s grip on his wrist tightened and Obi-Wan hissed, momentarily bringing her back from her thoughts.
“I’m so sorry,” she said, her thumb brushing his suddenly wet cheek. He couldn’t tell when he stopped fighting off the tears. After all, that was the least he owed those seven people whose cause of death he was.
“I’m sorry you’ve had to deal with that alone. I…”
“It was my mistake. All of it. I should have stick to the plan. I messed it all up. Did more damage than good. Killed seven people. I …”
“No.”Heliana cut him short. “You didn’t kill those togrutas. You didn’t torture them or Rex. It was not your fault. You were captured and tortured. Not the other way around.”
Heliana cupped his face and made him look her in the eyes.
“It is not your fault that happened to you or anyone else. What happened to me is also not your fault and I promise you, I’m fine. And I forgive you. There’s only so much I can do for you, it seems, cause you have to forgive yourself too. So until this happens I’ll be forgiving you for both of us, do you understand?”’
Obi-Wan’s gaze lit up for just a second. Just enough for her to notice the pain slowly drifting away. Good, she thought. Heliana knew, her words weren’t able to fix this, not until he would forgive himself. But that was a start.
“Thank you,” he whispered, feeling one knot untie inside him. “Thank you for not giving up on me.” he took her hand and pressed a kiss to her palm, still not sure if she wouldn’t pull back in disgust.
“I’m not going anywhere,” Heliana said, as if she read his mind. “I’ve got you. Always.”

What if? (P3)
Tumblr media
What if Anakin never broke our hearts?
What if Luke and Leia were raised together on Naboo and trained together as Jedi?
What if Luke went on to reform the Jedi laws and Leia rescued slaves from all around the galaxy?
This is what I think would happen:
Thanks for reading!!
Part 1
Part 2
The twins are both knighted at 21
Leia joins her father on his slave runs
Luke advocates for better Jedi laws, picking up where his parents left off
Obi-Wan, now retired from training Luke, officially leaves the order
And...since he's off the hook from Jedi laws, settles down and starts a family of his own
Ahsoka, after leaving Leia to join her father's slave runs, goes to find her own path; protecting force sensitive children (and adults) around the galaxy who are being persecuted because of their gift
Leia and Anakin, continue to rescue slave after slave
On time during a solo mission, Leia gets caught
Anakin is off on his own mission, unable to get there in time
Padme, though she knows Leia won't appreciate it, pays someone to rescue her daughter
He's not the most heroic or honorable person, but he was nearby and in in the area, and the only person available skilled enough
He's trustworthy enough to get her out quickly and safely
The man is a smuggler named Han Solo
For him the plan is simply get in, rescue the local princess, get out
But when he realizes she's not just a damsel in distress, but capable, snarky, a skilled pilot and mechanic...he can't help but fall in love
When he arrives she's scheduled for public execution
But according to her "she had it handled"
Just between them, she probably did
Leia doesn't care for him at first
His attitude puts her off, he's sarcastic, arrogant and annoying
But after he shows her that he really cares...she decides that maybe he's not that annoying, and perhaps his sarcasm is just a little attractive
Anakin and Padme don't approve of their relationship
They don't trust this cheating, lying, "promiscuous" man, not to mention he's ten years older than her
Han and Leia don't care, and elope together after only a year
Han takes on the name Amidala
A year later Ben Amidala-Solo is born
(Perspective check: Obi-Wan is 60, Anakin is 45, Padme is 49, Ahsoka is 40, Han is 35, and Luke and Leia are 25...and btw, Darth Vader died when he was 45, so Anakin became a grandfather when he would have died and that just warms my heart)
Sorry, back to the story
Leia retires the vigilante life when she finds out she's pregnant
Not one to remain idle, she turns her attention to politics instead
She follows in her mother's footsteps, soon becoming a senator of Naboo at only 26 years old
Han turns respectable with Padme's influence and his trade job flourishes with returning customer's praising his good work
Now to turn our attention to their son
Tumblr media
Ben struggled with nightmares as a child and rarely slept
He was awful as a baby, wailing the whole night through
He only got better as a toddler because he was afraid something would kill him if he made a noise
Every single night he would lie awake terrified
The nightmares are caused by the emperor trying to corrupt him even as an infant
Uncle Chewie tries to help, but he hasn't had much experience with children and especially not delicate non-furry children
Ben wails uncontrollably whenever Chewie holds him
His parents are the only ones who can console him
But Han and Leia are often busy, and rarely home
Han with trade jobs and Leia with diplomatic meetings
Honestly they never intended to have a kid, and while they don't regret having Ben, they were unprepared to take care of a child
Even though they are distant, Ben has a special bond with his mother who shares his connection to the force
The force is a sense of comfort for young Ben and his mother helps him-though subconsciously-access the force easier
Ben suffers from separation anxiety when she's not around
Han spends countless nights with Ben as a toddler, replaying recordings of Leia, to soothe his son to sleep when Leia wasn't there
On the days when both parents are gone, Ben goes to his Grandparents; Anakin and Padme
He also hangs out with Chewie...but much to his dismay, Ben is still scared of him for the first five years of his life
Ben loves his Grandparents dearly
Padme becomes a second mother to him
And Anakin forms a special bond with Ben because of the force
Ben is very strong in the force and while his mind is too clouded to find it himself, he can easily feel the positive force energy from his family
This is very calming and serves to ground young Ben's chaotic mind to reality
Ben continuously struggles with insomnia due to nightmares
He dreams of impending doom
And the death of thousands by his own hand
He feels frequently that he's inadequate, unworthy of love, or sometimes even that he's a monster
Throughout his childhood he he has low self-esteem and self-image, and he struggles with anxiety and depression
However, Padme senses something is wrong with her six year old grandson
She begins to recognize some of the signs that Anakin showed when he was struggling with fear and depression shortly before the twins birth
The nightmares, anxiety, impulsivity, and irritability
Most people brush it off, Ben has always been this way
But Padme approaches him and asks him if he's okay
He melts into her comforting presence and tells her everything; all about the nightmares, his fears and the voices in his head telling him he's not enough
Padme helps him feel less alone, and shows him how loved he is
She also realizes it may be something force related and turns to Anakin for further help
Anakin, (with Ben's permission) searches Ben's mind
There he finds Snoke's presence
Anakin protects Ben, forcing Snoke out of his mind
He also teaches Ben how to shield his mind from future attacks
Their happy boy emerges, and while he still has the occasional nightmare or bout of depression, and he may always be a little timid, he feels much happier without Snoke manipulating his thoughts...and with more sleep
Even when Han and Leia get restless and join Naboo's Airforce (Meaning they're often gone for weeks at a time) Seven year old Ben finds solace in the love of his grandparents
They help him understand why his parents leave, and make sure he feels loved
Han does try to be a good dad, and likes to teach Ben how to fix things, such as things around the house or even the Falcon
When he's gone for a long time he brings back a toy ship to build and play with together
When Ben was six years old he wandered into the Falcon searching for his dad
Han, absently asks Ben to pass him a wrench
After that becomes a sort of game, Han asking Ben for various tools-sometimes even ones he doesn't need- just to see Ben giggle and happily pick up the object in his chubby child hands, grinning ear to ear as he bounds over to his father
Han asks for Ben's help every time he has to fix the falcon, and Ben loves every second he gets to spend with his dad
Chewie also doesn't mind Ben's intrusion and although sometime he can get a little rough with Ben, he thoroughly enjoys the little boy's company
Honestly he's just happy that Ben isn't scared of him anymore
Although he pretends he's annoyed when Ben plays with his fur
Sometimes when Ben gets bored of that, Han gives him his golden dice to play with
He will spend hours lying down next to his father fascinated with the dice, until eventually he falls asleep (Often in Chewie's lap) and Han or Chewie has to carry him to bed
When Ben proves competent enough, Han lets him actually help instead of just passing him tools
By the age of eight, Ben is learned in the anatomy of a ship
Han buys some scrap and a broken ship to begins to fix it up together with his best friend and son
After a year of working on it, the ship begins to take shape
Anakin can't take it anymore and and decides to join in
"We can do better with this"
Anakin and Han bond over building the ship together and discover that they don't actually hate each other
This is the first time that they speak more than a few passing words to each other
Leia is relieve her father finally is getting along with her husband
The ship is completed when Ben is almost eleven years old
He wants to drive it himself and Han almost lets him...
But Leia is the voice of reason
She only allows him to be a passenger
That rule changes quickly however, and with the help of father, grandfather, Uncle Luke, and Uncle Chewie, his mother and grandmother relent within the year
By twelve he is flying his first ship (still with an adult's help)
And by fourteen he's allowed to fly the ship by himself (with an adult still on board)
At fifteen he's one of the best pilots on Naboo
He gets his official license by sixteen (and no longer has to fly with an adult)
He's a fairly responsible pilot (Padme's doing) though he does enjoy a good thrill ride
Not unexpected when you have Han and Anakin as your teachers
But despite what most people would think, Leia actually taught him the most about flying (Though Han and Ani did quite a bit)
At 17 he is gifted a new ship (He names it "Starflyer-base")
Ben is also maturing in other ways
He becomes Luke's Padawan
This is partly because he needs to learn how to control his power and so he can properly protect himself from Snoke and the influence of the darkside
But ultimately becoming a Jedi was his choice
(I'm sorry I didn't write about C3P-O and R2, I just didn't really know what to say about them. Assume they're just hanging out throughout all of this watching the chaos continue)
(I'm also only on season 2 of the clone wars, so if I left anyone out I'm sorry!!)
Thanks for Reading!!

ranking all of the star wars media i've seen so far because i think aside from andor (which i'm not watching til it's finished) i've watched all the (canon) pre-original trilogy content
(copied and pasted from my twitter)
10. solo
i won't say i disliked it but it didn't capture my attention either. it was kind of just there and i zoned out for most of it. i liked the droid but then she died :( i think it absolutely should've been allowed to be a comedy
9. rogue one
kind of the same story as solo; i don't really see why it needed to exist and nothing about it much interested me. i didn't actually like it any more than solo but i think if i flipped the ranking people would get mad at me.
8. the phantom menace
the beginning of my sw journey and yet sadly it did not leave much of an impact on me. the editing was. something. and it felt oddly-paced. sometimes the cgi and practical effects were really cool though (and sometimes they weren't).
7. attack of the clones
honestly this movie kind of felt all over the place? like so much happened but not really in a good way. the editing felt better than the first one though and it had less jar-jar which is always a good thing.
6. revenge of the sith
watching this after the clone wars added a lot more weight behind the events but also made anakin's turn so incredibly jarring. i feel like they really nerfed padme too :/ it's mostly the added context of the clone wars that puts this one above the other two in my eyes, even if it also manages to be a detriment. idk.
5. obi-wan kenobi
i think a lot of people didn't care for this one and i can see why but i thought it was fine. probably did not need to exist but young leia is the cutest little shit and her interactions with obi-wan really made the series for me. glad it was short though.
4. tales of the jedi
yeah i know it JUST came out but i'm putting it here anyway. on the ahsoka side of things i don't personally feel like her episodes added much except for maybe the first one bc i love backstory, but ahsoka is ofc my favourite character so i will never complain about more screentime for her. dooku's stuff was pretty interesting though and i like the context that it adds to his whole deal. i kind of feel we should've gotten it sooner tbh.
3. the clone wars
i think the main thing holding it bad a little for me is its length. i feel like it could've been cut down a fair bit, but for as many boring episodes as it had, there were plenty of great ones as well. i'd say that this is the piece of sw media that does the most for the franchise as a whole. it added SO MUCH context and opened up so many paths for more content. characters actually got to be characters, including the clones, and it makes the third movie hit that much harder. perhaps most importantly of all (this is a joke don't @ me), it gave us ahsoka, who i love very much, and who i find very interesting. i will never get sick of her.
2. the bad batch
though it had plenty of action and drama, the main draw of this show for me is the more lighthearted stuff. omega's addition to the sw cast was a very good decision and i loved every moment we got of her. to see a sw series that put more focus on family was really refreshing for me and i can't wait to see more of it next year. this show was also my first introduction to kanen and hera and goodness i had no idea what i was in for.
1. rebels
if you've been paying any attention to my twitter at all this past week this should come as no surprise. like the bad batch, if there's one thing i loved most about rebels, it's the found family aspect. i loved seeing the main cast interact and all of their dynamics had a wonderful quality to them that i appreciated. and it gave me back ahsoka! and i love it for that. the entire show had this strong feeling of hope running through it, which of course made the second half of s4 hit all the harder for me. as much as kanan's death and everything surrounding it hurt me, however, i can only commend the series on the impeccable writing that led to that moment. everything was incredibly well-crafted, creating a moment that impacted me more than any other piece of media ever has before. it made me cry at fiction for the first time ever and i love it for that. but i also hate it for that. but i love it for that. i desperately hope that we'll get to see the main character again in the franchise's future, not just because i miss them dearly, but because i feel like none of their stories ar quite finished. i think there's a lot more we could see from them, with my biggest (and probably most unrealistic) hope being for a series focused on hera as she raises her son and works to move on from kanan's death, bc i feel like the series did Not give her enough time to grieve (not that i can blame it, war is busy).
and there we have it! i don't know if my rankings are very controversial but, as i was saying last night on my twitter, i often enjoy tv shows more than movies, which is why they all ranked above them here. thank u for reading my long post.
