tips on staying safe at your local pride parade

make sure you have the following items:

- sunscreen

- water

- first aid kit

- shoes you can run in

- face mask

- hand sanitizer

if you see anti-queer protests, don’t engage.

keep your phone charged. bring a battery pack if possible.

utilize the buddy system. don’t go to pride alone.

establish a rendezvous point in case of emergency and you are separated from your group.

share your plans and where you are throughout the day with a friend who isn’t attending.

keep a piece of paper with emergency contacts on you.

carry cash, but make sure it’s kept in a very secure location.

pride is so much fun. but you have to be sure you’re staying safe and prepared in case of emergency. stay safe out there friends 🧡

Bodily autonomy extends to people doing things with their bodies that you, personally, do not like.

One thing I am very tired of seeing is people spreading the idea that certain procedures or bodily adornments should be outlawed simply because they don't think it's "right." For example, I saw a person spreading a person's nose job result around, saying it should be illegal to do this procedure. But we have no idea why this person got it. You can absolutely criticize beauty culture without resorting to spreading peoples' image without consent, or shaming individuals who recieve certain procedures. Additionally, you can encourage individuals to reflect on their choices and why they want certain things, but you cannot expect them to ultimately conform to what you think is best.

We can advance the idea that all bodies are worthy inherently and no matter what, but we ought to continue to do so regardless of if that body has had changes made to it. "Your body, your choice" as an ideology extends to making choices others don't like.

Again: When you don't own your body, you own nothing.

wow yesterday was really really really sad you guys i didn’t realize how attached i got to his cat over the past eight months but that truly rocked me, i also just haven’t been in the exam room watching as an animal took its last breaths since i was a teenager so i forgot how intense that is. G has seen me fall apart many times at this point but yesterday was the first i’ve ever seen him unravel like that too, it was so devastating. we brought her home and buried her in the backyard under the trellis and it started raining right when we finished <3

#Ratatat was such a special girl she was so awkward and polite and wojld always stand in ballerina poses #i’m in G’s alone while he’s out and it’s the first time i’ve been alone here without her keeping me company #i think like……i haven’t lost a cat since i was a small child #and before i got my Nelbow i didn’t really feel super attached to cats jn general? but now i’m fully like #oh no cats are put on earth to be twin counterparts to people to keep us HAPPY and SAFE and it’s imperative everybody has one!!!!!!

the physical effect that work is having on me these days is CRAZY….. the constant eye twitch was bad enough but now I’m just sore all over…… like really bad headaches from the noise and stress and stomach aches from worrying….. and I maybe should not have joined in so enthusiastically during pe today……
