Ramona Monet’s deep burgundy lips manoeuvred into an ‘o’ as she released a deep breath of air sending her fringe flying. The last place she wanted to be was the spirit rally, but her Pops had banned for from the hidden gem in the older parts of LA. Ramona’s love of old movies stemmed from the many times her father had dropped her off at the movie theatre on his way to work. Being banned and her best friend performing at the rally is the only reason she would show her face.
Ramona had chosen a red tartan shirt with her fishnets that would more than likely land her in Principle Lessa’s office. As usual, she would fight ‘it broke dress code’ earing a little less respect from the adult but admiration for the quick retorts. Ramona made her way to the gym as the first beat of Carrie’s song played, her black ankle boots finding the way to the bleachers.
“Hey, Monet,” Nick spoke, leaning forward from his concealed position in the nest of jocks. The kind blonde had always been lovely to his girlfriend’s best friend.
“Nick.” Ramona nodded looking back as Carrie burst into the fast pace choreography that went with the pop song.
Dirty Candi’s music was not what Ramona listened to, but she couldn’t fault that it was a catchy song that would be in everyone’s head for days. From a distance, Carrie’s brown eyes finding Ramona wearing her self-made merch.
Ramona’s shirt sported the letters of Dirty Candi in the iconic colours Carrie had stressed over in the beginning. The black shirt was bleached in a tie-dye fashion, but it made Carrie’s heart flutter at the supportive friend she had.
“Whoo!” Ramona called over the loud background noise as Carrie gracefully dropped to perform the floor choreo. The words referencing to the band Queen made the teen girl knowing it was Carrie’s way of acknowledging the car karaoke.
Ramona’s attention was brought to the side where two girls were watching the performance. Flynn and Julie had been in the back of Ramona’s mind since the accident happened; Ramona’s heart dropped at the girl. Julie and Ramona had a good history tainted by tragic loss and teenage angst.
Ramona and Julie had been childhood best friends being a few houses from each other and that history was bittersweet. The two girls had nervously shared their first kisses in the now dilapidated treehouse in the Monet’s backyard. A relationship bloomed like a flower in the morning sun before the sun was concealed behind a storm cloud. Julie’s mom died, and Julie asked for a break.
Now everyone knows that a break is really a breakup and the naïve girlfriends had believed that. Then as Julie struggled with music, she struck out to the closest person, her girlfriend and Ramona found herself dumped. The dumping shattered Ramona’s heart, and the friend group divided. Flynn chose Julie and Carrie, disgusted by the cruel words, chose Ramona in a true Carrie fashion; Carrie and Ramona had initially only interacted together for their mutual friend/girlfriend. Then Ramona’s heart was obliterated when days later, she caught Julie staring at Nick with the same look Ramona used to get.
Ramona’s head turned to disregard the girl that had run out of music class the previous day during her performance. Rumours circulated by the end of the day that Julie Molina had been officially kicked out of the program; Ramona was both sad and relieved. Julie’s own head turned to catch the profile of her ex-girlfriend.
“Go Bobcats!” Carrie Wilson chimed strutting off to the girls change room for the dramatic exit. Needing a break from Julie, the Monet girl followed Dirty Candi into the change room.
“Nailed it,” Ramona spoke, revealing white teeth behind her dark lipstick gaining the pink-haired girl’s attention. Carrie’s face beamed at the compliment.
Ramona and Carrie Wilson couldn’t be farther in comparison with their different tastes and appearance. Carrie was all pink and glittery while Ramona was grunge and angst. Ramona was the one to push Carrie into making a YouTube channel, even promoting the group to Ramona’s followers without prompting.
“Oh! Thank you!” Carrie tugged her best friend into her arms, choking her taller friend with the tight embrace.
“So, I overheard Julie and Flynn when I walked by the music room. Julie’s going to perform for Mrs Harrison.” Ramona warned her best friend concerned as Carrie’s complexation changed to make the gaudy pink wig, “OH!”
Carrie’s French manicure gouged Ramona’s bare arm as she was tugged after the teenager back into the gym. A gasp fell from both their lips as Kayla, the purple dancer for Dirty Candi appeared. The three students rushed the stage where three guys popped out of nowhere on the stage.
“What the hell?” Ramona demanded watching her ex-girlfriend break out of her music shell, “Wow.”
“What do you mean ‘wow’ Ro?” Carrie asked in exasperation as her best friend stared at the stage, enjoying the music being played. Carrie scoffed only to soften when she saw the expression on Ramona, “Ro, she doesn’t deserve you. She never did.”
The sad smile appeared on Ramona’s face as her eyes met the bass player’s wink. Ramona flushed at the attention taken aback from the confidence. For a split-second, Ramona considered wiggling her way into the band to get back at Julie.
But while Ramona dressed like a confident badass, it was inside that she felt alone and hurt that Julie was doing so well without her. That sent rage flooding Carrie’s body so when Kayla fawned over the band Carrie glared at her. Kayla dropped her head at the glare.
“I’m gonna go,” Ramona spoke walking away from the stage and her ex who apparently, she still had feelings for. God help Ramona. Why was it when Ramona was shaking the feeling that Julie had to come back with a bang?
Ramona was striding out of the gym as the band disappeared, leaving the Molina girl alone to explain. Ramona leaned against the bathroom sink uncaring of the germs in carried staring at the teen in the mirror. The bubbling sadness faded down, remembering the changes that had happened, she was better without Julie.
Ramona walked back into the hall, catching the tail end of Julie’s conversation with absolutely no one near her. Ramona’s mossy green eyes rolled as she walked by the younger girl the bubble of anger reaching the surface. The sheepish smile on Julie’s face as a concerned custodian pushed his cart by.
“Oh, so does this girl.” Reggie spoke, watching as a rocker chick made a wide berth around his only remaining alive friend, “Ooh, she’s pretty.”
Julie watched the older girl walk by keeping her gaze ahead, “Hey Mona.”
Ramona cast a weird look at the other girl with a roll of her eyes, “Good on you for performing. Surprised someone other than Flynn survived Bitch Bomb 2019.”
Ramona turned around the corner of lockers leaving the Puerto Rican’s shoulders to deflate at the remind of Flynn running off. Sunset Curve watched the interaction with raised brows flicking between the very different girls.
“What was that about?” Alex wondered, viewing the sad expression of the gifted singer’s face. The utter sadness reminding him of when he broke up with his first boyfriend in ’93 and the lingering feeling.
“That was Ramona.” Julie sighed, picking at the braided bracelet on her wrist that had matched the one you used to wear.
Being fourteen without jobs and little allowance gifts had been mostly thrifted or homemade so for the six month anniversary they had braided bracelets. They had never come off their wrists until the breakup; Ramona had cut it off in a puddle of tears. Julie couldn’t bring herself to remove hers.
“When did Julie get smart enough to how about holograms?” Carrie scoffed as Ramona joined her at the lab table. The performance lingering like a bad taste of the girl’s tongue, “I worked weeks on that song! It was so hard getting Katy’s choreographer to help.”
“Carrie she-“
“She is so stupid! We’ve all lost someone, and we didn’t pull a Bitch Bomb 2019.” Carrie exclaimed referring to the first months of Julie’s grief-led wrath.
Carrie was both right and wrong in that sense because everyone grieved differently, Carrie would do retail shopping. Ramona’s way of dealing was locking herself in a room with a piano and lugging up water balloons to a roof; very Peyton Sawyer of her. Julie never reached out to apologize for her actions, but Ramona blocked her on everything.
“Car focus on the lab. You still have that bomb-ass song you’re working on.” Ramona sympathized with the teen. Carrie nodded her head, deciding to not focus on some girl with a fluke of a performance; Julie almost puked on the piano a few days ago, so her surprise band was probably a one-time thing.
“Don’t you have anything better than-“
“Carrie do you hear something?” Ramona pursed her lips, scanning the classroom with a feigned look of confusion. Carrie’s lips twitched at her best friend’s antics, “I swore I heard the voice of irrelevance.”
“Ooh and I swore I smelt gutter water perfume too.” Carrie flicked her hair over her shoulder, smirking at Flynn’s look of anger, “Mr. Taylor! Flynn threatened to burn me!”
Mr Taylor turned his attention from Kayla to Flynn’s expression of disbelief and the glare directed at the table ahead. Putting on a look of shock, Ramona appeared genuinely flabbergasted to the chemistry teacher.
“Flynn, that’s detention.” Mr Taylor spoke, turning back to Kayla.
“You bit-“Flynn was cut off by the bell ringing. Ramona and Carrie had already left the confident girl in the room. Flynn was fuming with both Julie’s lying and the unfair detention because of two popular vindictive girls.

One would expect Ramona Monet, as a member of the music program, to play guitar or drums. However, Ramona was a classically trained pianist with an affinity with stringed instruments as well. The Monet family had a footing in the music world with her mother taught in the same way, and her father a composer.
“Oh! Sorry.” Ramona’s intense focus on the music enchanting the room was pulled as the awkward form stood in the entrance.
“Seriously, Molina?” Ramona winced as her hands fell on the keys creating an ear gouging shriek. Her green eyes shining brighter with the bare face she had chosen with little motivation for makeup, “I’ve been using this room every day at the same time since freshman year. You should know that. Guess I really wasn’t even an afterthought.”
Ramona’s hand shoved soft top binder of her notes in her black bag covered in many pins and embroidered patches. Her bright pink nail polish surprising Julie but her eyes drowned in the form-fitting ripped black jeans with the wine red cable knit sweater. Cheeks flushing Julie stuttered.
“S-sorry. I just-“
“Whatever.” Ramona shoved passed her ex-girlfriend, “Why do you even wear that?”
Julie glanced at the meaningful bracelet that Ramona intensely stared at with the dark and light strings braided. Julie’s eyes fell to see Ramona no longer wore braided bracelets but a bracelet with a moon charm.
“It means a lot.”
“Just not the person.” Ramona darkly chuckled, “Kinda childish?”
Julie shuffled uncomfortably on her feet picking at her cuticle at the insult her antagonist ex threw at her. Three ghosts glared at the Monet girl pissed at the unfair treatment she was giving Julie.
“Hey! What the hell is your problem?” Luke snapped, stepping forward even as Alex made his input of it being unnecessary; they were dead. To Alex shock, the disgruntled girl shifted her gaze from Julie to the trio.
“My problem is none of your damn business Uncle Jesse.” Ramona spat earning raised brows at her reference.
“Did she die in the ’90s too?” Reggie stage whispered to his best friend staring the pretty brunette down. Ramona’s eyes rolled.
“Should have known. The only people Julie didn’t scare off would be the dead.” Ramona snarked twisting on her heel to storm off into the distance.
“I’m sorry!” Julie yelled, bringing the brunette to a dead stop with her foot not planted on the floor yet as the apology finally came.
All Ramona had ever wanted was Julie to apologize for her shitty decision to dump Ramona cruelly. Using bitter words on her personal life to drive the wedge but the final nail in the coffin was the slammed door in Ramona’s face.
“For what?” Ramona seethed, “For asking for space and screaming when I gave it? Dumping me and acting like I was the black plague? How about when you forgot about my audition? Burning the flowers, I sent for the funeral? Or making breaking off communication and Flynn completely ignoring me?”
“Oh damn.” Luke murmured, stepping back to the drummer and bassist floored at the confrontation. His heart dropped, finally understanding why Julie avoided all topics relating to Ramona.
“I was wrong.” Julie admitted, “I pushed you away. I got mad when you gave me what I wanted. I should have talked to you and not broke up with you that way I did.”
“She burnt funeral flowers. “Alex whispered to Reggie, surprised at the out of character action from his new friend.
“I chose you over my audition. I chose to offer support for my best friend, not just my then-girlfriend, on one of her worst days. I get to the funeral, and you refused to let me say goodbye to the woman that practically raised me as well.” Ramona calmed down, staring at the younger girl breaking apart in front of her.
It felt like a weight dropped off Ramona’s shoulders or the chains of heartbreak and confusion unlocked with the key of closure. The clouds disappeared, letting the sun help the flowers bloom after a year of rain. A genuine smile spread on the girls face as Julie’s dropped at the beautiful sight.
“I hope you well Birdie.” Julie’s heart fluttered at the pet name Ramona had coined for the teenager. It shortened from songbird to birdie, and Julie hadn’t heard in what felt like years, “I gotta go. It’s filming day.”
Julie went pushed into a memory.
Summer 2018
The camera was entirely set on Ramona in the treehouse that her Pop had built when she was five years old. Fourteen-year-old Ramona was relaxing as she fixed her white off-shoulder crop top to be straight once more. The cover of the song accompanied by her acoustic guitar was pretty to the years of the short girl at the entrance.
“I still think it’s cheesy to call it Music Monday.” Ramona told the camera with a shy smile after strumming the last note. Her eyes meeting the girl that tackled her in a hug, “Birdie!”
“Birdie?” Julie questioned leaning back from her kissing attacks on every inch of her dirty-blonde girlfriend.
“Songbird is a bit of a mouthful.” Ramona blushed hiding in Julie’s neck unaware of the camera still rolling. The blush deepened at the lingering kiss to Ramona’s hairline.
“I love it.” Julie softly spoke, leaning back to gaze into Ramona’s green eyes swimming in the soft feeling.
Julie Molina and Ramona Monet had been the classic best friends with hidden crushes that shattered one afternoon. Ramona was nervous about a date she had the next day, and she had never kissed anyone. Julie, awed by her best friend, admitted she’d never kissed anyone and so in a cliché, the girls decided to share their first kiss. Feelings were revealed, and the two started to date.
“So, what brings you here.” Ramona asked, stopping the camera from recording as her girlfriend shifted, “What’s up?”
“If you’re ready I’d like to have you over for dinner.” Julie shyly asked, avoiding Ramona’s gaze.
“That’s not new Birdie.” Ramona chuckled helping the shorter girl to her feet fingers caressing the bracelet that was a twin to her own. Julie’s eyes flicked down to the light pink shorts that matched the butterfly click in Ro’s hair.
“Not as my best friend. As my girlfriend.” Julie murmured fearing the response.
“Should I call your parents Mr and Mrs.” Ramona wondered, kissing Julie’s cheek as the other girl relaxed at the statement. Julie feared Ramona wasn’t ready or didn’t want to be at that stage in the relationship, “If you are ready, then so am I.”
“You’re the best thing to happen to me.” Julie beamed, “Oh! I wanna show you the song Mom, and I made!”
Julie tugged her pretty girlfriend to the front of the house to lead her to the Molina’s garage they renovated into a music studio. The girls’ laughter floating in the summer breeze, the relationship blooming under the sun as it developed further. Naïvely the two young teens believed nothing could rip them apart, if only they knew.
“So, I’m guessing she’s off-limits?” Reggie offered as he bounced on his heels, attempting to lighten the mood. The glare from Julie was enough to answer that question.
“Reg. Firstly, don’t date your friend’s ex. Secondly, you’re dead.” Alex deadpanned at his best friend to turn to Julie, “Are you okay?”
“No.” Julie honestly spoke, “I guess I never realized that losing my girlfriend also meant I would lose my best friend.”
On the other side of the school, Ramona Monet could finally smile as the memories with Julie regained the colour grief had erased. Ramona Monet was better than fine, she was happy.

she/they bi trans butch lesbian nick
bc. nick dresses like a butch lesbian
pins: x x x / ritual 6 / ID in alt text
some hcs:
nick is very much the sort of "i am a woman because i'm a lesbian" sort of gender
not nonbinary, just likes she/they pronouns
she's out to her family, and to her girlfriend (and her girlfriend's dad) and that's it. coming out is hard. it means people asking questions and changing perceptions and losing friends. there's also just, like, so many steps. there's too many things you need to do. hell. hell. what if they just didn't -> it also might mean getting switched to the girls' lacrosse team, and like, nick is all for trans inclusivity in sports, but like, these are her guys. and also the team she knows how to work with. really, they ought to make it co-ed
nick is the handsomest butch princess at the princess dance party <3 -> alternatively, nick attending a short-notice princess dance party in her normal clothes + a pink feather boa and plastic tiara for that nuanced gender experience
nick's little sister is the coolest kid in her class because she has a "secret sister" -> adults assume this is an imaginary friend. kids assume she's a superspy like kim possible. nick's sister doesn't confirm or deny anything because she's good at secrets
carrie likes having "girls' nights" and painting nick's nails while they gossip and vent. nick doesn't get any particular gender euphoria from having painted nails, but it is gender affirming in the "this is a thing girls do together" sense
nick's very happy with their gender presentation, actually
being only out to carrie is part of why they stay in their on/off relationship for so long; nick doesn't want to lose being able to go over to carrie's house and just vibe knowing that all 2 people there know she's a girl. she really doesn't want to have to come out to more people -> nick liked hanging out with carrie more before they were dating. but there's no going back now! -> it's not like you can just go back to being friends with your ex or anything!!
nick, posessed by caleb: well THAT's definitely not my gender. nice to have those lingering doubts handily done away with. also, i would like to not be posessed please
nick is now significantly less okay with being constantly misgendered by 99% of everyone they know! -> cause yk. being possessed by a transphobic ghost pretending to be you for months. it has what one might call An Effect
after all the caleb stuff, nick ends up hanging out with the whole ghost band gang more & makes trans friends for the first time! -> they also learn that you can, actually, go back to being friends with your ex, if you're willing to like, have an honest conversation and talk it out
with all the openly trans people in the ghost band gang (flynn, luke, willie, reggie in particular as a fellow transfem) nick feels a lot more comfortable and undaunted by the idea of coming out to them since, like, they already know what's up -> nick's like what's up i'm a she/they bi lesbian and flynns like damn same and then they high five
bc she's now regularly hanging out with a whole bunch of people who know her pronouns and thus hearing them used with some regularity, she starts to get used to it for the first time :) -> downside: now it feels bad when people don't use them. that plus yk. The Caleb Thing means that now they kinda really want to be out, instead of relegating All That to a nebulous future where it's easy and not complicated. Oh Fuck That's So Much Shit To Do. luckily, she has her friends by her side :)
julie and flynn (and luke and alex and reggie and willie and the molinas) help motivate & support her to actually go through with coming out instead of just continuing-not-to-but-now-it-feels-bad -> and help her remember & deal with all the Billion Fucking Steps and Paperwork. executive dysfunction is easier with a friend<3
when nick comes out publicly, she literally just starts wearing pronoun pins. no other changes in appearance whatsoever. she already dressed exactly how she liked :)
when she gets her name legally changed, she just changes it to nick, bc changing your legal name to a nickname of your deadname rules

Tumblr media

A-N: I've had this idea in my head for a while, and I really just needed to get it into words. So here you go :) enjoy. Also I had no idea, what on earth to call this.
[masterlist]
Tumblr media
Orpheum, 1995
Y/n sat at one of the tables situated inside of the Orpheum building in Hollywood. Her e/c eyes carefully observed the muscular arms of her boyfriend, Luke as he played his guitar on the stage alongside his bandmates. Sunset Curve was their group’s name and it was consisted of Reggie – the bass guitarist, Alex – their drummer, Bobby – another guitarist and Luke – their lead singer. Right now, the band was going through a sound check for tonight’s performance. The band was hoping to make it big in the music industry, after they played this gig. They were hoping to be music legends.
Sweat trickled down their faces as they wrapped up the sound check, and jumped off the front of the stage. High-fiving each other as they did so. The h/c female cheered loudly for her boyfriend and friends, gaining their attention as they set their equipment down behind them. A wide smile adorned her features as she soon felt Luke’s arm stretch across her shoulders. The boys having now walked over to where she – and one of the waitresses – Rose stood. The latter having just finished wiping down the table in front of the group, and now looking towards the four boys. Y/n kissed Luke’s cheek, before hugging Reggie, Alex and Bobby. The four boys and two females engaged in a small conversation – well unless you considered Bobby flirting with the waitress that – then you could call it one.
“We’re going to grab street dogs; you want one babe?” Luke removed his arm from his h/c girlfriend’s shoulder, turning his head toward her as he asked. The girl in question only formed a face of disgust at the food, in response to it. She wasn’t sure how he; Reggie and Alex could stand the taste of the street dogs. But, despite her own distaste towards the hot dogs which were made in the hood of a car, she merely shook her head. Kissing her boyfriend briefly on the lips, before the boys rushed out the back exit. Y/n turned back towards Rose and Bobby – who also refused the street dogs. She joined into their conversation as they waited for their friends to return. Unaware that in a few minutes, they would never see them again. Well, not for another twenty-five years and alive that is.
Tumblr media
Orpheum, 2020
Julie waited in the dressing room; nerves bubbling in the pit of her stomach as she waited for the boys to turn up. Where were they? She bit her lip at the thought, checking to see if she was ready to go on. She was panicking on the inside; they were set to go on in a few moments. But, the ghostly boys of Sunset Curve had yet to show up to the venue. The clock continued to tick away on the wall, nearing the time when they were to start singing. The curly haired girl glanced up at it, anxiously waiting for her bandmates to show their faces. But alas they did not.
The Molina girl let out a nervous sigh, and headed towards the stage, briefly glancing back to Flynn who was behind her. She stretched a small but noticeable smile onto her features, as she sat down at the piano onstage. Her fingers setting down dahlia flower atop the lid, before connect her fingertips to the keys. She looked up briefly out into the audience, at all the familiar and unfamiliar faces waiting for her to sing. Maybe they had already crossed over? The thought crossed her mind briefly, but she shook it away. Her hands slowly began to play each chord for Stand Tall. Until she was now fully singing the lyrics to the song. Each word fell from her lips as she got further into it.
Y/n sat situated in a chair in the audience, beside her husband Bobby or Trevor he goes by now. She tapped her fingers against the side of the seat waiting for this opening band to go on. She’d heard of them through her daughter, Carrie. She had said that it was a hologram band by an ex-friend of hers, Julie Molina. Which honestly the h/c did not believe was possible in the slightest. She hadn’t thought holograms were possible until today, but apparently, they were and it took a teenager to work out how to use them. Her gaze soon settled onto a figure entering the stage area as they were introduced. Julie and The Phantoms the band was apparently called, and the girl entering now must of been Julie.
The woman briefly glanced around, confused where her so-called holograms were. Until, she realised they must not have appeared yet, and so she returned to looking at the girl now seated at the piano. The teenage girl's voice picked up slowly with each key she pressed down, as she sang the lyrics to her song. A song which sounded so eerily familiar to Y/n's ears. Yet she could not work out where she knew or had heard it from before. The h/c woman chose not to dwell on the thought, but rather continued to bob her head in time to the music.
It wasn’t till Julie had gotten halfway through the song, that something unexpected happened. Something that did not make sense what so ever. Y/n’s eyes widened, as she witnessed, one-by-one the deceased members of Sunset Curve appearing on stage out of thin air. She took a small peek to the side at Trevor, her husband to see what his reaction was. Which he seemed to be mirroring her own wide and shocked expression.
Y/n turned back to the front, leaning forward slowly and trying to make sense of what was happening. It was impossible. Reggie. Alex and... and... Luke. Constant thoughts of ‘how?’ flew through her mind right now, she was pretty sure she looked ridiculous right now, with her widened eyes. But who wouldn't? If they saw their ex-boyfriend and best friends suddenly on stage right now. Ones who were supposed to be dead and that died twenty-five years ago. It was simply not possible.
The song soon finished and just as the last few notes were played, Y/n found herself briefly connecting her gaze with Luke’s before he disappeared. She sat there for a moment, trying to comprehend what had happened before standing up and slowly clapping to the girl onstage. She needed answers, and preferably from Julie who seemed to be the one behind the ‘holograms.’ Once she stood up again, she quickly kissed Trevor on the cheek and explaining she had to use the bathroom, she hurriedly followed Julie back towards her dressing room. Her gaze looked around, to make sure she wouldn’t be caught back there. Before lifting her hand, to knock on the door. After a few minutes, Julie opened the door to reveal the h/c woman stood out there patiently. The teen had a look of confusion on her face, as she asked why she/Carrie’s mother was stood out there.
“I need to talk to you about your band.” Y/n rushed out, nervously. Tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear. Julie just nodded, eyes widening slightly at the mention of them and allowed the woman to step inside. Closing the door behind her, making sure nobody could disturb them. It was awkward for a few minutes, with both Flynn and Julie seated opposite Y/n on the couches before the older of the three decided to finally, voice her thoughts to them.
“The band. They’re not holograms, are they?” The h/c woman bit her lip, not quite ready for the answer to her question. Her e/c eyes proceeded to look between the two teenagers already losing patience over waiting for the explanation she so desperately wanted to hear.
“No. They’re ghosts.” Julie bluntly let out, after hesitating for a moment. She might as well speak the truth? Right? After all, the woman before them technically did figure out they aren’t holograms, like she told everyone at school. Y/n's eyes widened slightly, and she felt herself pale a tiny bit. ‘Ghosts?! What?!’ She muttered under her breath; at the new information she had received. It still remained impossible in her mind, as ghosts were not real. But yet, if they were? Then why and how are they here? Too many questions were flowing through her head and thoughts right now. Each one she so desperately needed answers to, but did not want to speak so she didn’t overload the two girls with her questioning.
“A-are they here?” she stuttered out quickly, she felt herself feel a little bit of hope at the thought of knowing they were in the room with her. Maybe, if they were, she could ask Julie to pass on one last message for them all from her. That hope however disappeared, as soon as she saw them shake their heads quite quickly at the woman.
“Oh.” She muttered, quickly standing up and heading towards the door. But, just before she exited, she turned around one more time to the two girls still seated on a couch. “Can you tell Luke ‘I miss him? And that I’ll always love him?”
Julie just simply nodded, as Y/n walked out.

I Miss You - Julie x Fem!Reader
Julie x fem reader where reader is most definitely a giant f girl- she does weed and crap but she’s like hopelessly in love with julie who wants nothing to do with her.....”
Disclaimer: Not going to lie, I struggled with this one. Substance abuse is a hard topic to write without making the relationship unhealthy (I know weed isn’t that bad, but you know what I mean), so I kind of put a spin on this request.  I hope you still like it :)
Tumblr media
Julie Molina knew one thing: You can’t force anyone to change.
That’s why she merely sat in the background as she watched her ex-girlfriend make a fool of herself in the middle of this party.
Y/N and Julie had been friends since elementary school, and dated for a year up til last January. It was that winter that the older girl started hanging out with a less than savory crowd who convinced her to take up habits that Julie just couldn’t approve of. The third time the girl had shown up to her house, in front of her family, reeking like whisky, Julie told her to leave and that she didn’t want to see her again.
The girl took it to heart, and Julie hadn’t heard from her since. However, she had seen the girl spiral from afar. Every party they were both at, Y/N was destined to go home so drunk after flirting with some girl all night in the corner of the room. She normally ended the night blacked out or so high that she could barely formulate a sentence. Although it hurt to watch someone she used to love fall flat on her face, Julie knew it wasn’t worth the risk of taking her problems on, atop of her own when the girl clearly didn't want to stop herself.
Y/N grabbed the waist of the girl next to her, and Julie watched as the girl who was clearly off-balance to begin with, tried to lean into the other’s ear with a smirk on her face. The two girls went toppling down as Y/N could barely stand. Julie sighed, setting her drink on the table and rushing toward the scene.
Michael, a guy from her 4th period chemistry class, helped the other girl up, pushing Y/N to the side in the process. Julie gave him a pointed glare as she reached for her former girlfriend’s wrist.
“Come on, Y/N, it’s time to go home.”
The girl looked up at her with drooping eyelids, swaying softly side to side. Another boy assisted Julie in getting the girl to stand up right, wrapping her arm around his neck. The boy helped usher Y/N to Julie’s passenger side seat. Julie thanked the boy and he waved as he ran back toward the house.
As she got into the car, she took a look at her passenger. Y/N was knocked out cold, leaning against the frosted window. Julie bit down on her lip as she watched her cheek slide down the glass. The younger girl removed her jacket, leaning over toward the other seat. She lifted Y/N’s head for a moment to place the soft fleece between her and the bitter cold material.
She put the car in drive and then pushed quickly down the street. As she approached Y/N’s house, she felt her heart rate pick up as she searched up and down the driveway. She saw that both parents cars were gone, a stroke of luck she’d begged for silently on their drive there. She unbuckled her seatbelt and opened the door to the frigid cold. She rubbed her hands together for warmth as she walked over to the other side carefully, watching for patches of ice.
She softly knocked on the window to jar the girl’s eyes opened. Y/N lifted her head off the window, staring over at Julie with puffy eyes. Julie pursed her lips as she opened the door. Y/N stared at the girl as her breath came out in a cloud of frozen air.
“Y/N, come on, let’s go.”
The girl moved her head enough to slightly nod, and took Julie’s hand. It took a moment, but she was able to stabilize herself on the slippery ground as the two walked over to the front door. Julie knew the girl wasn’t coherent enough to find her keys, so the girl reached across, placing her hand in Y/N’s front pocket.
“Getting a little fresh there, Molina,” She slurred, Julie feeling her hot breath on her neck.
Julie found the keys, and pulled them out of the jean pocket. When she met the girl’s gaze again, she rolled her eyes at her.
“You wish, Y/N.”
Y/N chuckled, leaning onto Julie’s side as she opened the door. They both stepped inside the warmth awaiting inside the front door, and Julie set the keys on the ring above the shoe rack. She shifted Y/N’s grip on her neck and moved toward the stairs.
The two waddled back and forth up the first flight before Julie stopped to rest. She took a few deep breaths before pushing on and making it through the last seven stairs to get to Y/N’s top-level room. She grabbed the knob and threw the wooden frame open. She moved quickly to get the girl to the bed and set her down carefully on it.
Julie met her barely open eyes for a moment before leaning down to her legs. She unbuckled the huge black boots the girl wore and threw them to the side. She stood back up and stared down at the girl who was practically sleeping in front of her.
“Y/N, you’re ready for bed,” She tapped on the girl’s thigh to get her attention. “Crawl up into the covers.”
The girl grunted, moving on her knees toward the headboard. Julie monitored her movements as she found the blankets and curled underneath them. Julie gave the room a once over before waving at Y/N, who was already snoring. She giggled to herself for a moment before turning toward the door.
The next morning, Julie awoke to a knock on her window. She rubbed her eyes, pushing off her plushy red comforter to crawl off of her mattress. She made her way over to the window and stopped just short of it, staring at the bushy hair and tired eyes of the girl on the other end. She rubbed her eyes again, blinking twice to make sure her vision wasn’t tricking her.
“Y/N,” She whispered to herself, leaning forward to unlatch the window.
As soon as the open air hit her room, the girl came tumbling in. Julie suppressed a laugh as the tall girl fell to the floor with a bang. Y/N stood up quickly, dusting herself off and giving Julie a sheepish look.
“She’s never been graceful,” Julie said, as she crossed her arms at her chest.
Y/N regained her balance and stood in front of Julie. She rolled her eyes at her smirk and leaned back to shut the window. As she girls met eyes again, the older one rubbed the back of her neck nervously.
“I just...I wanted to stop by and apologize for last night.”
Julie rose an eyebrow in surprise, “Do you even know what happened last night?”
“Ruben told me you brought me home, and-” She sighed before saying the last part. “There were videos of....my actions last night all over Snapchat.”
She clasped her hands together, staring at the ground for a moment.
“I’m sorry you had to see that....again.”
“It’s fine we’re not even-”
“Friends, dating, whatever anymore, I know.”
Julie bit back her next statement as she watched the girl’s nervous gaze meet hers again.
“I still want to apologize.”
Julie rubbed her forehead in frustration, shaking her head at the girl.
“I just, for one night I wish you could have fun without getting drunk or something and numbing out the whole night,” Y/N met her eyes and hers widened. “I just... I miss you Y/N, but seeing you like that, I...I can’t even think about even being your friend again.”
“I know,” the girl said softly, fidgeting with her hands at her waist. “I miss you too. I...I wish I knew why I did the things I do too. My mom was right, you were the best influence on me.”
“Shirly knows a thing or two,” Julie let a soft smile grace her lips as she watched the other girl’s nervous movements.
“She knew I didn’t deserve you.”
A silence hung in the air as Julie’s eyes drifted over toward the corner of the room. Their breakup had been dramatic and brutal. There had been yelling and crying for over an hour.
“You’re trying to control me,” Y/N hissed, pulling away from Julie’s grip.
“I’m trying to stop you from consistently poisoning yourself,” Julie bit back, fists balling at her sides.
“You sound 85 years old, Jules. I’m just drinking with friends.”
“Every night? Y/N, no 17 year old should black out every Tuesday night for a month. It’s not healthy. You’re being stupidly irresponsible and I refuse to pick up the pieces again.”
Y/N stared at her as Julie started to shake. Tears fell from the young girl’s eyes as she ran over to her bed and fell to the mattress in a curled ball. Y/N couldn’t stand looking at her so upset. She opened her mouth to say something, but retracted it last minute, walking out of the room.
Even looking back at that moment sent shivers down Julie’s spine as she stood in front of the girl yet again. This time, Y/N was much calmer, sober and seemingly sincere. She took in her red eyes and her disheveled hair and tried not to walk up and run her fingers through it to fix it for her. Instead, she held her hands at her sides and waited for what the girl would say next.
“Julie, I know there’s nothing that I can say to make this better,” Y/N rubbed her hand against her cheek as she cocked her jaw. “But I want you to be proud of me again.”
Those words shot through her system in a millasecond. She felt her heart physically pinch in her chest as she tried to take a breath out. She finally found the strength to shake her head.
“You should do this for you first, Y/N. Take care of yourself for you.” She took a step toward the girl, holding her hand out to her. Y/N hesitated, but grabbed it and intertwined their fingers. “It’s clear that you want out of this, or you wouldn’t be here telling me that.”
Julie squeezed her palm, smiling up at her with wide eyes.
“You deserve that, I promise.”
Y/N let a small smile roll across her lips. “My biggest cheerleader, even when she hates my guts.” She brought Julie’s hand up to her lips and kissed the top of it quickly.
“Thanks Jules.”
The girl let go of her hand and moved back toward the window. She unlatched the lock and pulled the glass open. As she stepped outside, she leaned back over and smiled at the girl who watched her leave. Julie’s curls fell to the left side as she tilted her head. A small grin plastered on her face as she gave Y/N a small wave. She nodded before disappearing out of sight, closing the window behind her.

No one pov:
Y/n goes to school with Reggie. Luke, Alex, and Julie. She was like the nerd she didn’t like to sing in front of people but she had a great voice. Carrie was like a friend to y/n she was there for her when her dad left the family for some other lady. The dad and y/n were like peanut butter and Jelly they were really close y/n thought her dad was more than a dad she thought of him as a brother and a friends she  would be able to talk to him no matter what. The mom and the dad were close to but then when y/n turned 6 years old the dad left and before he left her mom and dad fought a lot.
Y/N Pov:
I am now 16 years old and i am in high school I have a crush like any other girl in the school on one of the band members of Julie and the Phantoms. I like Reggie but he doesn’t even notice at all I wonder why he is always around f/n but who knows maybe my friend is lucky she has had a crush on him for a while since they came to the school. “Y/N!!!!” “What?” “You will never guess what happened” “well what happened” “I was asked on a date” “with who” “Reggie!!” “Oh... that is great”.
Time skip to f/n date:

Reggie Pov:
I really like f/n but then again I wonder if she likes me i mean we have been friends since we came here. “Hey f/n” “Yes?” “I was wondering if you would like to be my Girlfriend?” “I would... Love to be your girlfriend!!” “Great” “I should start heading home” “I can walk you home if you like?” “I would like that” Well that was very successful she is very pretty I really hop we last long. As I walk her home I look at a room in the house and I see a figure dancing to Julie and the Phantoms. “Reggie!!” “Reggie” REGGIE”  I was interrupted by my thoughts when f/n called my name “I’m I sorry was distracted” “It’s fine” “I’ll see you tomorrow f/n” “see you tomorrow Reg”
Time skip to morning:
Y/N Pov:
My friend told me that her and Reggie are a couple and that broke my heart I get up an get dressed in a Red and black Plaid with black jeans I obviously tied the plaid shirt. As I enter the school building I see f/n and Reggie sitting on a bench cuddling. I cant believe it but I am jealous and I am not usually a jealous person what is wrong with me I can’t believe it but I wish that was me. As I was thinking about it I went right into class. As I was about to sit f/n called over Reggie and told me that the seat was taken and that i had to sit somewhere else. I sit behind her. “Hey f/n who was that you were talking to?” “Oh nobody. Why?” “Just wondering” “Oh okay” I can’t believe my ears did she just that I was a nobody?? As the class ends I head over to Carrie. “Hey y/n what happened” “Not much..” “I know you what’s wrong” “F/n called me a nobody ever since she got a boyfriend I have...” “Since when did f/n get a boyfriend” “Since last night” Oh... well I am having  sleep over you should come” “Thanks I will think about it” “No probe” “Hey Carrie?” “yeah y/n?” “If you ever got a boyfriend would you ever push me away?” “Y/n I would never we have been friends since we were born you are like a sister to me” “Thank Car”
Julie pov: a/n ~ I know finally
What did I just hear f/n has a boyfriend I need to know who it is and well I am happy for f/n she is my sister so why not. “Hey sis” “Hey Jules” “Who is your boyfriend?” “How did -” “I over heard Y/n talking to Carrie” “Oh... don’t be mad but it’s Reggie” “Why would I be mad” “Also you two are really cute together” “Thanks Jules” As we were walking home I saw y/n and Carrie laughing and walking up to Carries house. So I ran over to them and started to yell at y/n “You are the worst friend ever F/N told you she had a boyfriend and all you do is just ignore her she has been with you no matter -” “NO! I told her I was happy for her and all she does is give me the cold shoulder she may be your sister but me and f/n are not like me and Carrie” “Oh please y/n you know nothing about f/n”
No one Pov:
“Oh please y/n you know nothing about f/n” Little did they know Reggie, Luke, Alex, Carrie, and F/n were watching.  “I do know stuff about F/n she has a boyfriend named Reggie, She loves to sing, she loves to be herself no matter what type of people are around and I also know she is being distant from me I tried to sit next to her in math today and she was talking to her boyfriend Reggie and said that I was a nobody I helped her through your mom’s death and she treats me like Shit I try so hard to play it of Julie but she seems to not need me anymore.” “I don’t care how she treats you Y/N she is still going through the heart break about our mom and today is our Mom’s birthday” “That Julie is Bullshit F/N told me when your mom’s birthday is and I can tell you it is not today. I would rather be with Carrie she understands me way more than anyone would she knows what i am going through and she is there for me and i am there for her that is how friendships work you are there for each other but no I was always there for f/n I need to talk to someone who will acutely listen to me. I need someone who will wait until I am ready to talk f/n has never done that for me it has to be all about her so I’m sorry you only listen to your sisters side of the story.” As y/n is about to walk away with Carrie Julie says something that hurts y/n feelings. “Wait Y/N my sister never liked you in the first place she only cares about her family and her boyfriend.” “Thank you for the truth I don’t need anyone except for Carrie from now on.”
Later that day at Carrie’s
Carrie and y/n walk to Carrie’s house. “Hey y/n” “Yeah Carrie” “I can cancel the sleep over if you want and you can stay over.” ‘Thanks but are you sure” “ Yeah you are more important than Julie, Reggie, Luke, Alex, and f/n.” “You are the best Carrie” They continue to walk but at the Molina’s house hold there is a lot of tension. “Hey f/n” “Yeah Jules” “are you okay” “Yeah what she said hurt” “You guys have been friends for a while now” “Julie I know but she has been friends with Carrie since they were little”
Reggie pov:
What I just witnessed was terrible. F/n was never y/n friend she was just using her to get more friends and now I just can’t imagine why I am even dating f/n. I now figured out I know nothing about f/n. “Hey f/n I am going to go now” “NO” “Why” “BECAUSE I AM HURTING AND ALL YOU CAN THINK ABOUT IS GOING HOME AND NOT BEING HERE FOR ME, ME REGGIE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOUR HOME!!!!!!” “YOU KNOW WHAT F/N WE ARE OVER.” “What Reggie what have I done wrong” “You are not there for your friend y/n what she said from math class was right I see you guys together smiling and laughing you should be their for her not the other way around relationships go both ways your friend or ex - friend are supposed to supporting each other so f/n we are over” “Fine I don’t need you anyways Reggie” “Come on Alex, Luke”
Luke POV:
What I just witnessed outside and in the house was messed up f/n and Reggie were together for 3 days what world are we living in. But yet again what Reggie said was right. “Guys do you hear that music” “yeah” “Alex you hear it” “Yeah lets go figure it out.”
No one POV:
Luke, Alex, and Reggie hear music coming from Carrie’s and they walk up to a window and see Carrie and y/n dancing to “Dance Monkey.”
Tumblr media
Carrie sees Luke, Reggie and Alex she tells y/n she will be right back.
Carrie Pov:
Me and y/n were dancing but as I was spinning I see 3 boys from our school oh I wish I knew there names. Wait I do weren’t they Luke, Reggie, and Alex I don’t know. “Hey Y/n” “Yeah Carrie” “I’ll be right back” “Oh were are you going” “Oh you know to get some sun” “ Oh ok I am going to get some water and make some popcorn” “Ok” I walk outside and walk right behind the 3 boys. “What are ou doing here?” I must have scared them because they just jumped and start to stutter. “Well we heard music and came to check it out.” “Wait your Reggie dating F/n right?” “Um... yeah” “Oh well why aren’t you at her house?” “Because we broke up” I started to laugh because they just broke up man that is funny. “Why are you laughing?” “Because they have only been together for 3 days” “Hey Carrie what’s taking you so long?” “I need more time” “Oh why are they here” “Well because they saw us dancing” “Why is Reggie here?” “Wait do you don’t mind that me and Luke are here?” “No are you the ones dating f/n” “Well no” “But Reggie shouldn’t be at her house?” “Well him and f/n broke up today” I answered y/n before anyone else could then I smiled at Julie’s friends.
Reggie pov:
I am blown away y/n is beautiful and she is strong and not scared to speak her mind I can’t believe what I am about to ask. “Hey y/n” “yes Reggie” “will you go out with me?” “What... but what about f/n don’t you still like her?” “No she was mean but know that I figure it out I like you more than f/n... So will you go out with me?” “Yes... but can we keep this a secret for know” “Yeah I agree you know let f/n get over our break up” “yeah...When and where is the date” “Saturday and a surprise but I will pick you up at 6:00 P.M.” “Okay” Yes I got the girl of my dreams. “See ya y/n” “Bye Reg”
