don't be surprised that me someone who is obsessed with archetypes is posting about mbti...but please buckle up for the post because it's a handful, and i'll make the post as easy as possible to understand!

♇ anyways, [i'll be using sentences that i've learned as well] the mbti is used to understand yourself, the relationships your in along with your personal growth; the mbti is about your cognition which means your intelligence, how you process and understand information.

♇ people need to understand that the typology cannot predict how someone is going to consciously behave, for example, someone sees an intj and the first thing they think is that "omg that person is definitely going to be so emo".

♇ however, the mbti does predict the subconscious micro-expression [which means someone's true emotion] and body language. keep in mind, anyone can change behaviour, so yes, mbti's can change depending on the personal growth of someone, someone's mbti might fully form when they're like a middle aged adult, in my opinion.

♇ the mbti typology believes that we understand information in two ways, which are functions called ⬎

the judging and perceiving functions.

♇ the perceiving function ⟶ understanding information that is experienced first handedly by the person, and putting the information together afterwards.

♇ the judging function ⟶ understanding information without having to experience it first handedly, and putting the information together afterwards or even the same time they come in contact with the information.

♇ everyone judges information by a logical and a rational mindset, along with value based and a honest criteria which is involved with the four modes of cognition [intelligence] everyone has.

↳ and those four modes are:

♇ sensing, intuition, thinking or feeling, which can either be introverted or extroverted. every type has four of the functions [sensing, intuition, thinking or feeling] in descending order, meaning from strongest to weakest. which also refers to how much someone uses four of the functions they have; and the plethora of the descending combinations gives rise to the 16 types.

♇ let's begin with the perceiving functions ⬎

which include SE, SI, NE AND NI.

SE ⟶ extroverted sensing.

SI ⟶ introverted sensing.

NE ⟶ extroverted intuition.

NI ⟶ introverted intuition.

♇ beginning with the sensory functions [SE AND SI].

⟶ with SE which is the extroverted sensing.

⟶ extroverted sensing [SE] react to events first handedly, [like their own experience], before they believe or understand in something.

⟶ they see things as it is and don't overthink the answer in front of them. for example, they're the type to look at a maths question and think that all "solutions/problem solving" can lead to the same answer.

⟶ people with extroverted sensing are action-oriented and need to experience things themselves in order to understand it, like i have mentioned before.

⟶ onto with SI which is introverted sensing.

⟶ introverted sensing [SI] react to events as patterns they have seen before, for example, if someone has already seen two individuals who belong to loud and violent houses react to situations in a defensive way, and the [SI] individual meets another person who has the same background as the other two people they have communicated before and notice that the new individual behaves the same way. they'll understand that people from abusive households are normally protective over themselves out of trauma.

⟶ [SI] individuals build personal associations to data, they'll look at something like "this solution is bad" and "this solution is good" because of the outcomes they have seen or heard before; which is different than a [SE] native, who would rather want to interact with the solution before they come up with an answer. [SI] people who are selective and consistent; they only want information that is useful for them.

⟶ they're people who go by previous examples, and are likely people who can identify patterns in large source of information, and dont need first hand experience to know when something is true.

♇ now with the intuition functions [NE AND NI]

⟶ starting with NE which is extroverted intuition.

⟶ extroverted intuition [NE] are people who see countless of possibilities with their intuition, every probability or likelihood they see they will take it into account. they're the "anything is possible" group.

⟶ [NE] individuals see possible connections, which causes their work to grow more bigger and bigger as they're expansive people, like [SE], [NE] natives have no specific preferences they'd like to work on, and find every idea useful. these natives tend to be very action-oriented as well.

⟶ they are people who need to first handedly go through situations for them to make the dots/connections; which could sometimes not give them the upper hand when they're trying to solve something compared to an [SI] who will already make the patterns due to events they have read or heard before.

⟶ now onto NI which is introverted intuition.

⟶ introverted intuition [NI] are people who could be perceived as people who arent as expressive to situations openly, but will feel a lot on the inside. they're the type of people to form a logical concept from information that is relevant or they think is relevant.

⟶ like [SI] the [NI] individuals only see information or patterns that makes sense to them and and they do care about other people's thoughts and additional information within their research.

⟶ they're specific and are likely to understand things easily while finding further links and connections. they're reflective about the information they gather, so when they do receive details, they'll see if it makes sense or not.

⟶ people can either have SE & NI or SI & NE; it can never be "i have SE & SI or i have NI & NI".

TE ⟶ extroverted thinking.

TI ⟶ introverted thinking.

FE ⟶ extroverted feeling.

FI ⟶ introverted feeling.

♇ beginning with the thinking functions [TE AND TI]

⟶ with TE which is extroverted thinking

⟶ they're people who most likely focus on their own judgement, they will decide what makes sense to them and what doesnt make sense to them; what is logical and what is not, which will normally be based on their own experiences with the issue. they're focused on the end product, so they'll likely do the same thing to see if the outcome changes.

⟶ they think of ideas that are effective, and are objective to the route they're taking, they're people who like information that can be proven to them. if they can't see it, they wont believe it. it's their basic understanding of logic.

⟶ [TE] individuals can be considered as quite annoying because they normally don't listen until they have to go through a specific situation all the time/or go through much life lessons to understand what to or not to do.

⟶ with TI which is introverted thinking

⟶ [TI] individuals like to make everything make sense to them, which could be time consuming because for example, they would like to learn something so simple, will learn it, but during the process they would want to know every step, even the irrelevant steps which makes it time consuming.

⟶ they can only go forward in life when they do understand something, they're people who are likely to be anxious when they dont know information they think is relevant to them, compared to [TE] natives who wouldnt mind learning the details when they're going through a route.

⟶ [TI] people are considered less impactive than [TE] folks as they're people who only want to learn the depth of a topic and not other possibilities that can surround the topic.

⟶ onto FE which is extroverted feeling

⟶ [FE] natives judge on what they see on the outside, for example they're the type of people to judge people based on their appearance or based on their first impressions compared to other functions. they wouldnt really be like "oh i just need to know the depth of this person" if someone presents themselves as rude, the [FE] person will always think of the other person as insolent, no redemption.

⟶ people who have [FE] are usually those who are mainly like "it can only either be these two options" nothing else. they're normally like that when they experience something physically first and if their mind thinks something is negative they will always perceive that thing is negative while deeming the opposite thing of that instrument positive.

⟶ they're people who are clear about their intentions so other people can understand what they are striving for. could sometimes lead to them failing since people will always know what they're up to.

⟶ onto FI which is introverted feeling

⟶ [FI] people judge the weight of something after they deeply understand the matter. and when they understand the deepness to an information they decide what part of the information is useful for them.

⟶ like the [TI] system, [FI] is very specific and particular about everything, like they cant just go on with life knowing 2+2 equals 4, they'll need to understand why 2+2 equals 4.

⟶ evidently, they're people who take the time to understand something which can sometimes take it longer for them to understand a subject compared to other people but when they finally understand it, they become very efficient to the subject and find ways to simplify it for other people so everyone else can learn.

⟶ people can either have TE & FI or TI & FE; it can never be "i have TE & TI or i have FI & FE".

⟶ TWO THINKING AXIS ⬎

♇ SE AND NI ⟶ see the issue and would like to explore different possibilities of it or live through it.

♇ SI AND NE ⟶ see the issue and would rather focus on that single issue before they apply it to other things.

TWO JUDGING AXIS

♇ TE AND FI ⟶ see the problem and would solve it with how other people might've solved it before, but would solve the problem with multiple tools they'll think that can work on the issue.

♇ TI AND FE ⟶ see the problem and would rather solve it with a tool that might've worked in other scenarios. wouldnt think to use other tools if they know the one they have right now is useful.

SO...WHAT MAKES AN MBTI...AN MBTI?

♇ the order of the functions i have mentioned: SE, SI, NE AND NI that belong to the thinking functions and TE, TI, FE AND FI that belong to the judging functions make the mbti!

♇ including what function is the strongest to what function is the weakest.

♇ the axis pairs will either be the first and fourth function or the second and third function.

⟶ SE AND NI being function pairs.

⟶ SI AND NE being function pairs.

⟶ TE AND FI being function pairs.

⟶ TI AND FE being function pairs.

♇ for example, let's use ISTP ⬎

⟶ I = introversion.

⟶ S = sensing.

⟶ T = thinking.

⟶ P = perceiving.

♇ good question! what makes up for the first letter in the code is the second letter in the strongest function and the strongest function for ISTP is TI and what is the second letter for TI? It's "I" which causes the function to now become from _ S T P to I S T P.

♇ if the TI was a TE it would commence the function to become E S T P.

"okay but what about the last letter in a type code?"

♇ you'll have to look back at the first extroverted function in the type code for your mbti, and for ISTP it is ⟶ TI SE NI FE. the first extroverted function in the type code is SE which means EXTROVERTED SENSING.

♇ SE belongs to the perceiving function which implies that the last letter for I S T _ will be I S T P.

How to balance all your interests when you have multiple passions?

I’ve been pondering how to balance all my different passions, interests, and side hustles, as I’m the kind of person who tends to love variety and easily gets excited about new projects. It’s often the completion part that I struggle with! This is a fairly common conundrum for certain personality types, and can also be related to conditions like ADHD. It can be really hard to know how to streamline and simplify things to make it more manageable and less chaotic.

Chronic illness can be a factor here too, as I often start a new project in a high energy period, but then may not have the physical energy to easily complete it. It can be hard to know how to handle this sometimes, as I can’t predict how I’ll feel from day to day or week to week. Sometimes I just have to let something go for a while, and accept that I will come back to it later. I also accept that there’s some projects I will abandon, and I don’t see it as a major problem as long as there’s no financial investment.

So how do you handle this tendency?

I personally find it’s best to embrace it, and find ways to work around it rather than trying to pigeonhole myself into only one project, passion or interest at a time. However, if you’re trying to make money, earn an income or build a business - and you need to pay the bills with it to survive - then you will probably need to narrow down to one thing at a time for work. You can still allow yourself freedom to explore in your free time, though.

For example, I love borrowing a wide range of books from the library, and reading about a bunch of different topics at once. Switching from one book to another works for me and I find it stimulating. The great thing is that the books all get returned to the library, so they don't create long-term clutter. I also enjoy writing blog posts about a range of different topics, rather than sticking to one particular subject.

Same goes for my art - I have one style that I sell commercially, and then do whatever I want in the rest of my spare time as it captures my fancy. I find creating different IG/Tumblr accounts for particular art styles/niches works well. If it becomes popular and sells it's a cool bonus, but I don't worry too much about it making money. Digital art is great because it doesn't take up storage space, so I'm shifting from doing large pieces on canvas to doing more digital art.

Having said all that, I do have a bunch of blogs and Tumblr accounts floating around on the internet that I've forgotten about and largely abandoned. Same with old creative projects in storage. But it's okay, because I enjoyed exploring that idea/hobby/style for a brief period of time. Sometimes I go back and integrate creative stuff from the past into my current projects (for example, taking an old blog post and updating it for my current blog).

It can become a problem if you waste a lot of money on hobbies you forget about or business ideas that never get off the ground, so I’d recommend finding ways to avoid spending too much money to begin with. Ideally, it’s best to spend no money and find free activities, but obviously this is not always possible. My post about Decluttering My Fantasy Self may be relevant if this is you.

If you're multipassionate, I don't think there's one right or wrong way to manage your interests and hobbies. Some people like to focus intensely on one hobby at a time, then move on to something else. Others enjoy moving between different interests simultaneously to keep them stimulated. I've done both at different times in my life. Emilie Wapnick has a great book about this called How to Be Everything which is more focused on career, but you can apply the same principles to hobbies and side hustles as well.

just saying i dont seem to have either ne or se becuase i dont think in imagination or have billions of ideas, but i dont notice the present at all and dissociate all the time. The only thing I worry about is how much people hate me, and then constantly forgetting that people can percieve me, and then the otehr thing i focus on is my hyperfixations. So idk what mbti type I would be anymore but I just wish people would explain this more in depth because I definietly do not think in depth and analyize anything, I just am too busy worrying about what people think and worrying that people will leave me, and worrying that Il say the wrong thing, and worrying about peoples values that are different to mine, than to actually think about anything else or notice the present. Like I know I have fi now and probably si but se and ne is just fuck all same with ni.

Ne being the bouncing-off-the-walls function is a misconception, Ne by itself doesn't do that, considering its definition as the holistic perception of external reality. Ne is a single point overseeing the context of what's collectively happening...

Ne users vibe! They pick up the wave and flow with it, keeping a pulse on the big picture. That's the opposite of someone chasing flying unicorns and vomiting rainbows. Many Ne users are very laidback, and are *very* much in touch with reality...

It's reality at the abstract level where all of the moving parts happening around them are blended into a singular idea. Like a coach leading the team, a conductor guiding the orchestra, a nurse navigating thru the healthcare system, a journalist covering the state of economy...

They all stand in a position of perceiving a synergistic image produced by all the moving parts around them. That's what Ne sees!

So where does this whole bouncing-off-the-walls thing comes from? To change the collective idea, we need to create momentum shifts... One impact or two isn't enough. We need to approach this relentlessly at the right angles!

If you're asking "isn't making impact Se? So we need a lot of Se?" You'd be right! Ne users dip into their Se. An idea can be concretely realized in so many ways...

Many things have to happen to get an idea off the ground. Seeing possibilities is byproduct of this. They're multi-tasking, paying attention in all of the things, dipping into Se making impact wherever they can. They're trying to be in many places doing many things at once!

And with their respective codec function, ESxJs build and rely on structures to tune the moving parts to shape their ideas at large scale. ENxPs who'd rather bask in the flow wear many hats building up a swiss-army knife variety of skills.

Planets & Functions

Disclaimer:

These are my current observations. I'm aware I need to observe more to improve my understanding of the connection between planets and functions. I deduce the main theme I've seen similarly in both then match the planets and functions accordingly. There are 10 planets and 8 functions so there will be some overlaps. I tried my best to match their essence together. I hope you like reading these because I have fun connecting! It's a fun way to learn cognitive functions.

You can be strong in mutiple planets but we focus on your strongest planet(s) or influence hence your type or dominant/auxiliary function(s) is most likely associated with those planet(s). You can be influenced by mutiple planets and the lesser influence (the influence may still be strong no matter what) may be associated with your lower functions (auxiliary, tertiary, inferior).

Easy aspects (trine, sextile, conjunction) work like dominant/auxiliary/tertiary functions and hard aspects (square, opposition, conjunction) work like tertiary/inferior functions.

Focus on aspects, houses, signs, etc. to know your influence is associated with which function(s).

For example: you have strong Mars, Moon and Pluto. Mars is the strongest, Moon second and Pluto last. You may be an ESFP (Mars: Se; Moon: Fi or Fe; Pluto: Ni, Fi & Te). It's just a rough example to predict your type. I don't claim its accuracy since this is just an observation. Overall it's for entertainment purposes so have fun!

🟤 Saturn: Si

I associate Si - introverted sensing with Saturn. It's an easy connection because these two are very similar. They are both about hard work, stability, conservation, tradition, etc. I notice dominant/auxiliary Si and Ni users or J types (ISTJ, ISFJ, INTJ, INFJ, ESTJ, ESFJ, ENTJ, ENFJ) have strong Saturn or Earth influence in the chart. They are blessed by Saturn. I'm jealous because I have inferior Si and a weak Saturn. You may wonder why dom/aux Ni users may have a strong Saturn. It's because our chart is a combination of lots of influences. One placement doesn't purely mean you are a certain type. It just means you have strong Saturn influence, but you may have other stronger influences (for example, Pluto or Mars) that make you another type. Descriptions are overlapping. J types in general prefer to plan so they may have strong Saturn or/and Earth influence. But Si is Saturn closest archetype, not Ni for the above reason. ISTJ is the closest to Saturn due to having auxiliary Te that is more tough, masculine and fatherly. ISFJ with auxiliary Fe is more warm, motherly and Moon-liked.

The most possible type: ISTJ

Other possible types: ISFJ, INTJ, INFJ, ESTJ, ESFJ, ENTJ, ENFJ

Honorable functions: Ni, Te

⚪️ Uranus & Jupiter: Ne

I associate Ne - extroverted intuition with Uranus, Jupiter second. Ne and Uranus are similar in so many ways. They are both about unorthodoxy, unpredictability, open mindedness, qurikiness, futurism, freedom, etc. Ne is the opposite of Si, like Aquarius comes after Capricorn. Dominant/auxiliary Ne users (ENTP, ENFP, INTP, INFP) usually have strong Uranus. Dominant/auxiliary Se users may also have strong Uranus in a lesser extend or P types (ENTP, ENFP, INTP, INFP, ESTP, ESFP, ISTP, ISFP) in general. P types prefer to go with the flow, are more adaptable and love freedom so they may have strong Uranus or/and Air influence. ENTP is the closest to Ne due to having auxiliary Ti that is more detached, partial and logical and tertiary Fe is more humanistic. ENFP with auxiliary Fi is more passionate and personal.

Color: white, sky blue

The most possible type: ENTP

Other possible types: ENFP, INTP, INFP, ESTP, ESFP, ISTP, ISFP

Honorable functions: Se

I associate Ne - extroverted intuition with Jupiter because they are both about optimism, fairness, foreignism, theory, philosophy, etc. Dominant/auxiliary Ne and Se users or P types (ENTP, ENFP, INTP, INFP, ESTP, ESFP, ISTP, ISFP) in general may have strong Jupiter because they all love adventures & traveling. I think Ne is a bit more closer to Jupifer than Se because Ne is theoretical and philosophical like Jupiter while Se is hands-on and practical. Among the two dominant Ne users, ENFP may be closer to Jupiter because they can be more optimistic due to not having auxiliary Ti that structures dominant Ne in ENTP. ENFP is also more stubborn, untamed, honest and idealistic due to their auxiliary Fi.

Color: beige? I don't know lol help me pick a color.

The most possible type: ENFP

Other possible types: ENTP, INTP, INFP, ESTP, ESFP, ISTP, ISFP

Honorable functions: Se

🔴 Mars: Se

I associate Se - extroverted sensing with Mars. They are all about drive, action, competitiveness, agressiveness, passion, bravery, pioneer, impulsiveness, athletics, wildness, confidence, sexiniess, etc. Dominant/auxiliary Se users (ESTP, ESFP, ISTP, ISFP) have strong Mars or Fire influence in the chart. Dominant/auxiliary Se users are hot, athletic, blunt and child-like like Mars and Fire placements. They have no filter. Nothing fears or stops them. They can't be controlled. They master following what they want. They're doers. They learn by doing. ESTP is the closest to Mars due to having auxiliary Ti that is less emotional and more tough. Mars is not based on emotions. ESFP with auxiliary Fi gives a touch of softness and is Venus/Neptune-liked.

Color: red

The most possible type: ESTP

Other possible types: ESFP, ISTP, ISFP

Honorable functions: Te

⚫️ Pluto: Ni

I associate Ni - introverted intuition with Pluto. They are both about psychology, secret, knowing, mind reading, manipulation, depth, etc. Pluto is a higher octave of Mars like Ni is the opposite of Se. Dominant/auxiliary/tertiary Ni users (INTJ, INFJ, ENTJ, ENFJ, ISFP, ISTP) usually have strong Pluto or Fire/Water influence. Ni is about what we don't know or our unconscious. Ni perceives our hidden dark sides. Ni reads into silence and absence. Ni/Se users have encountered many upheavals and gone through transformtions like they have lived many lives so they have a profound understanding of human psychology. INTJ is the closet to Pluto since auxiliary Te is more commanding, intimidating and powerful and tertiary Fi is more passionate, deep and intense. INFJ with auxiliary Fe is more motherly and Moon-liked. Another planet that connects to Ni is Neptune.

Color: black, burgundy?

The most possible type: INTJ

Other possible types: INFJ, ENTJ, ENFJ, ISTP, ISFP

Honorable functions: Se, Fi, Te

🟣 Neptune: Fi

I associate Fi - introverted feeling with Neptune. They are both about idealization, compassion, etc. Dominant/auxiliary Fi users (INFP, ISFP, ENFP, ESFP) usually have strong Neptune or Water influence. Fi alone is a creative function to me. So many talented artists are dominant/auxiliary Fi users because of their ability to express emotions. They understand the intricateness of their own feelings so they have deep sympathy for other creatures. They have high desire to live in the best world so reality is often not their strength. Luckily ISFP have a more balanced auxiliary Se and tertiary Ni so they can conquer both physical and spiritual worlds fine. INFP & ENFP can be too idealistic, scatter-brained, clumsy and unrealistic due to blind spot Se (INFP) and inferior Si (ENFP). I've also seen dominant Ni users (INFJ & INTJ) have strong Pisces/Neptune because of the dominant Ni + auxiliary Fe combination (INFJ) and tertiary Fi (INTJ). The dreaminess, glamorousness, creativity transcendence, etc. are similar to Ne & Ni. INFP is the closest to Neptune due to dominant Fi and auxiliary Ne provide a highly creative combination.

I've also seen dominant/auxiliary/tertiary Se and dominant/auxiliary Fi users (ENFJ, ESFP, ISFP, ISTP, ENFP) except INFP (due to blind spot Se) and maybe ESTP (due to tertiary Fe is more Moon-liked and ESTP is more pure Mars) have strong Sun/Leo/Fire influence. The drama, expressiveness, passion, authentication, attention seeking, etc. are also associated with Fi in the Fi/Te axis that wants to express their identity. Dominant/auxiliary/tertiary Te, Fi & Se users have a drive to be seen successful. They want to shine and feel like the best of the world. That's the best feeling ever. ENTJ is the closet to Sun due to dominant Te that is assertive, authoritative and commanding and tertiary Se is strong, fast and risk-taking.

Dominant/auxiliary Fi users (ISFP, INFP, ESFP, ENFP) may also have strong Moon or Water influence in a lesser extend. The difference between Fi and Fe is Fi have high ideals (Neptune) while Fe likes to protect loved ones (Moon). They both want to feel loved. INFJ is the closest to Moon because dominant Ni is intuitive and sensitive to all needs and auxiliary Fe is still caring but less smothering and prefer one-on-one interaction. Si (ISFJ, ESFJ) gives a more physical and down-to-earth attention while Moon is more intuitive. Dominant Fe (ESFJ, ENFJ) can be more Sun-liked because they want public attention.

I associate Fe - extroverted feeling with Venus. At first I didn't have much knowledge to match Venus with a function. I know Venus must be a feeling and sensing type. Neptune is a higher octave of Venus so it's more intuitive and abstract while Venus is more physical and sensual. Since Neptune is associated with Fi due to out-of-this-world ideals, I found Venus seeks more shallow admiration and material luxury. Taurus can be both either Si or Se with its desire for physical comfort and materials. Libra loves to be in a relationship which is associated with Fe more than Fi. Libra seeks harmony, peace, politeness and balance are all associated with Fe. Hence I believe Venus is more related to Fe. While Neptune and Pluto are more related to Fi due to idealization and passion. Dominant/auxiliary/tertiary Fe & Fi users (ESFJ, ENFJ, ISFJ, INFJ, ESFP, ENFP, ISFP, INFP) usually have strong Venus or Earth/Air influence. No matter what Venus is the lower octave of Neptune so it will influence both Fe and Fi. ESFJ is the closest to Venus since dominant Fe has sophisticated and charming manners and auxiliary Si loves physical comfort.

Ne Potentiality

Daydreaming

The Ne function is motivated to discover new information, whether by absorbing it from the outside or by synthesizing it out of existing datasets through a creative alchemy. It is highly imaginative, which is to say it's driven by images and information structures of all kinds. However, these images are not immediately evidenced in the environment, but are all those which the environment evokes by containing an adjacent graphical relationship to the present. When faced with a situation the Ne user will only casually consider the literal objects before them as their mind soon drifts up, around and behind those immediate objects to uncover the visual and conceptual implications related to that moment. They are quick to leap beyond the physical world and become lost in their heads; conjuring up novel ways to interpret situations as they unfold. They have a talent for manipulating information spatially and relationally; fitting together ideas that are otherwise largely disconnected from each other. They may find themselves comparing elements of the periodic table to music bands, or imagining what the life of an eraser would be like from the perspective of a Pixar film. As children they may be absentminded daydreamers oblivious to their surroundings and caught up in a self-made world of equal parts fiction and reality. The domain of their imagination can be far more interesting to them than whatever is happening in the outer world. Some may nurture this world with stories they make up, complete with characters, landscapes and perhaps an entire legendarium.

Lack of Attention

But the time the Ne user spends in their head often translates to time not spent in reality. Far more than the average student, they will be prone to space out in class, be unable to get through long texts or any tasks that require a very slow or arduous pace. Their perception of the world outside of their interests will be faint, hazy or splotchy. If something is not particularly rich with associative potential, the details of objects in daily life will soon fade, leaving only their general impression as an after-image in their mind. When listening to others, as they’re absorbing the person’s words, one word will trigger a mental tangent midway and they’ll pursue it curiously at the loss of what else the other person was saying. They can live a klutzy existence, tripping on objects, wearing mismatched clothes, losing things and forgetting appointments on a regular basis. But despite this exterior inattentiveness, internally they may experience quite a hyperactivity of thought. Far more is happening within than without and this can also cause troubles such as over-thinking, excessive worrying about outcomes or not getting a good night’s sleep from an inability to slow down their mental chatter. They may find it difficult to keep a steady mental pace and can often be diagnosed with ADD, ADHD or Sensory Processing Disorder. Reality can register to the Ne user as a series of information flashes which are somewhat spontaneous in nature and which channel from every previous dataset collected in the unconscious.

Mass Data Absorption

Jarring as it may be to be inundated by sporadic correlative flashes, it can also be incredibly stimulating and addictive to constantly be experiencing this imaginative feed. A small rush or high may be felt every time a new idea pops into awareness and the Ne user will thirst after that feeling of realization, the sensation of novelty or the intrigue of curiosity. And when Ne is particularly strong, they will seek this type of experience with undying fervor. They will become media junkies, often binge watching entire seasons, rushing through novels and games, or going on researching sprees for days or weeks on end. A slowdown of volume, or a lack of things to absorb can lead to feelings of stagnation, hollowness and absence of thriving. As such, their impulse will be to pick up something else right after finishing the last thing, needing to have some form of interest always in mind. However, this can be problematic if they find themselves more engaged in the endless flux of information than in the information itself. Despite vast amounts of information entering, much may be going in one ear and out the other. A perpetual challenge for the Ne user will be to be more targeted in their attention and sink deeply into a few topics rather than spread themselves thin across dozens of topics. And indeed, when they learn to channel their focus toward a single direction, they can become over-night experts on subjects, memorizing every minute detail about a favored hobby, genre, pop idol, science experiment, or category of trivia.

Serendipity & Flash Visions

The Ne user's capacity to synthesize such high volumes of information sometimes leads to spooky insights, uncanny realizations and predictions of the relevant situation. Suddenly a vision may flash before their eyes, stitched together from hundreds of unconscious micro-correlations accumulated around this moment; converging into one instance in time. This can lead to a semblance of clairvoyance where the Ne user attains some knowledge into the unseen causalities of the universe. They may come to deeply trust this sense, whenever they feel it manifest. However, these sudden flashes will not represent a stable ability and their appearance will be as unpredictable as their own inspiration. In other cases this can produce a habit of serendipity where the individual participates in a cosmic flow towards meaningful happenstances by consciously or unconsciously directing their energies in those vectors. The Ne user will attune themselves to the real-time synchronicities of the universe, ebbing and dancing in harmony with an eternally unfolding fractal towards undiscovered lands. At a more modest scale, the Ne user's information synthesis will regularly evoke epiphanies when various information vectors -- previously suspended in an unconscious superposition -- click into alignment and burst forth immediate realizations that alter the fabric of their mind and their paradigm. In all of these cases the Ne user is rapidly altered -- seemingly by a divine act -- into a more true alignment with reality as it may exist at the widest scale possible.

Tinkering

At a much more practical level, the strong Ne user is not only driven to absorb and synthesize information but also to actively participate in the information collecting process. They will enjoy engaging with elements of reality through tinkering and experimentation. More than a few household devices may be taken apart as they yearn to see what’s inside. They may take up a variety of interests ranging from sculpting to rock collecting, music composition, cosplaying, animation, voice acting, puppeteering and ventriloquism – but will rarely become expert at any of them. As a jack of all trades and master of none, they will dabble with mediums frequently but may find themselves changing hobbies every few years. This can also cause a great deal of disarray in their personal lives, as they soon lose interest in a once beloved life trajectory. Repetition is among their biggest turn-offs, and this can also lead to a life-long struggle with keeping a set occupation unless the Ne user is fortunate enough to find a job that is as dynamic and evolving as their interests. They enjoy being on the cusp of their understanding and seeing what lies still beyond their reach. Over time, every interest they've ever had has the potential to spontaneously reignite itself in them. On a whim they may circle back around to a hobby after having packed it up in the garage for years or decades, and continue their joy for it as if no time had passed. Indeed, they often have closets or garages filled with various unfinished hobbies or projects - waiting for an occasion to become the center of their attention.

Puns & Humor

The Ne user will also have an integral sense of humor and bring that with them into many of their interactions. They’ll have a capacity to convert their wild imaginings into out of context parallels; comparing a person’s gait to a limping platypus, an unusual jawline to a can opener or a shih-tzu to an animated mustache. They’ll juxtapose ideas together in absurd and off-the-wall ways and highlight the unseen peculiarities of things. The Ne user will have a natural drive to spark up the environment; to provide levity and life to situations as well as to their own life. Life is too dreary if you can’t have a little fun. Wordplay can be a favorite medium of humor, where they'll manipulate the semantics of the situation to make puns and associations. "Oh you can sit here with me, chairing is caring!" or "That omelette was egg-squisite! But the bacon was hogwash" or spoonerisms like "I'm stoing to the gore" may be commonly heard phrases. This sense of humor can lead many Ne users into stand-up comedy or to adopt a role as a talk show host for their ability to improvise and keep the flow of a conversation going in unexpected directions.

Imitations & Parodies

The Ne user will also have a playful tendency to parody multiple characters and scenarios in real-time. A certain event or external sound/word will trigger an association chain which reminds them of a scene or meme, and their mind instantly re-enacts the memory both mentally and physically. The Ne user wears many hats and may be a sort of walking record of enactments, ready to sprint into their acting mode at a moment's notice when the situation presents itself. They will manifest this in the form of "mini-skits" that imitate the iconic qualities of a thing. The Ne user may be an expert at playing with their facial muscles, making a wide range of expressions. They may also excel at modulating their voice tone, picking up and repeating accents from movie stars or obscure demographics. At a more functional and less recreational level, this gives the Ne user the ability to be adaptive and construct personas in social situations. If they are driven to assume a certain professional or social role, they may seamlessly be able to play the part. This can sometimes become a longstanding act, as they use the persona for months until the Ne user may even forget that they assimilated or constructed the character in the first place.

-Behaviors Under Stress

Distraction & Escapism

When the hardships of life cause a fall out of emotional health for the Ne user, their first instinct will be to divert their attention away from the overwhelming pain. Humor, recreation and consumerism will be exercised as an antidote to their pain, often leading them to engage in reckless spending, jovial displays and to seek out more risky experiences. On the inside the Ne user will be viscerally compelled to stay on the run by an avoidance of their own anxieties and fears. They’ll feel that they would not be able to stand up to the full magnitude of their despair, and rather than have it crush them, they choose to highlight or exaggerate positives and downplay or ignore the magnitude of any negatives. They may also become immersed in a certain media, binge-watching Netflix or playing video games instead of tending to pressing responsibilities. Despite a completely conscious awareness of the necessity of certain actions, the more pressing a responsibility is, the more their mind will fight powerfully to avoid it, disallowing proper mental focus and follow-through. The Ne user will be in conflict with their mind as it struggles to do anything else but what it's supposed to do. Therefore, rather than address the issue head on, the stressed Ne user may skirt around the problem and find something more magnetic to focus on and just wait for the project, assignment or relationship to fail on its own.

Extraverted Intuitive Description

1. The extraverted intuitive is primarily defined by two things; novelty and discard. Novelty and discard are not oppositional, they are synonymous. Discard is required for novelty, as if any condition lingers, then novelty vanishes, as the excitement of the new that novelty is defined by cannot exist without the old being dispatched. This makes this type incredibly subversive, and incredibly astute at recognising momentary opportunities, sometimes day-to-day, however, other times second-to-second, i.e. in the form of a freestyle rap, or an immediate pun. They maximise a state of extreme free-association and openness, as in their ability to discard their impressions faster than any other type, they are constantly open to the next opportunity. You have to neglect that which came before for renewal to take place, it is the opposite of Si's conservation and maintenance formed by a stronger cognitive attachment-forming.

This ideational transience carries both a light and dark element. The light element is its childish naivety. The extraverted intuitive gazes at the world constantly with infant eyes. They are the eternal child. When all is discarded, life remains permanently fresh. This can make the Ne type incredibly charming. However, this can also carry all of the callousness and neglect that a child may treat an old toy with after being gifted a new one. I will elaborate upon this in section 4.

2. The extroverted intuitive can also be understood by their tendency to often avoid meaning. In their lack of Ni, they will perceive the world as a series of unrelated stills. While it is true that they link many things together in their free-association, they need to perceive things as ultimately fundamentally unrelated on a deeper level to do so, as if the world was bound up by definite, convergent patterns then it would be impossible to subvert and make novel connections, as novelty is based on originality, which deep, fixed patterns reject. Ne connections do not meaningfully belong together.

The best example of this is a pun. Puns are based upon homonyms that carry two separate meanings, it is trans-contextual. You can assume both meanings of a pun, which is why its funny, as that duality carries a subversion of a canonical, singular interpretation of a word or phrase. Trans-contextualism assumes a lack of holistic meaning because it asserts multiple perspectives as equally valid, but this means that for the Ne type, nothing can truly be meaningfully connected to anything. Things can only be arbitrarily connected, which is why Ne creates so many possibilities.

Post-structuralism Aside

This is also why I believe that the Ne dominant post-structuralist and post-modern types are accused of being 'intellectual tricksters'; their relativism rejecting canonicity implicitly carries the idea of novelty-chasing for its own sake as the relativistic attitude carries the same drive as that which is built on abstract subversion. Abstract subversion is relativistic and trans-contextual, which ultimately looks like 'comedy' over time. In a rudimentary way, we could call it an intellectual movement treating the world with the same cognitive logic as a pun, as it assumes the validity of a multiplicity of interpretations in its relativism, as a pun does.

Difference Between Ne and the Pi functions

In essence, as Ne users revile all kinds of constraint, to 'map' things as Ni would define itself or the world by definitive axioms and would destroy their free-association. Ne is concerned with that which is forever UNCODIFIED. Archetypal patterns that are permanent, eternal, and exist outside of any context in their universalism present a predictability in their codification. Ne is therefore also not typically 'archaelogical' in an academic sense.

Furthermore, Ne types still perceive the world through Si, which means that they build a library of specific contexts and particulars, though the Ne dominant will be bad at maintaining and tracking this library. This means that though it is largely uncodified, when something does mean something to them, it means something to them in a specific context (i.e. nostalgia, a favourite impression that is very wrapped up in their particular experience), which also makes it impossible for them to view the world through universal, sweeping meanings and grand-narratives. Since they cannot divorce a 'structure' from particular instantiations of being and contexts (Si), it does not maintain an over-arching quality like Ni's more typically religious structures (whether actually religious or not, their vision will maintain a religious structure in how it points to something larger and structured outside of their particular 'self').

3. What people do not really understand about Ne in some of the mistypes of Ni users I have seen is that Ne is momentary. It considers 20 different possibilities, but even when deciding on one, it cannot commit even past that point for long, and doesn't perceive where it will actually go. I have illustrated what I mean here. https://ibb.co/bgXMkNk I intend on making a cleaner, more concisely worded version in the future. It is slightly repetitive because I was making this at a point in which my thoughts were somewhat scattered, and I usually repeat myself on 'key points' to compose my thoughts, I often struggle with internal clarity.

This type of ideation also struggles to latch onto context from the previous moment in its presentism also, which means that in its most extreme state, Ne functions like predictive text, in which the next word is filled in based on relevance of the current word while the sentence itself lacks cohesion, as it cannot recall the context of all of the previous words included. Ne in its purest form bounces from whatever is relevant to the current idea, not what came before it. It is like this scene from Don't Hug Me I'm Scared also: https://youtu.be/dbL-NSkXnl8?t=349. The only difference is that there will be a more clear link between two of the things (i.e. maybe after the "We are in the universe" mentor appears, the next mentor to appear would be more related to something he had said, such as the cricket mentor being switched to in relation planets and realising they are spherical like a cricket ball instead, something more akin to that). As a side note, I feel that Don't Hug Me I'm Scared may be the best representation of Ne in its most extreme form. Each time a mentor figure is introduced to explore a concept, the concept is explored from every angle with a core meaning being completely lost. I.e. Clock: "Now you can see the importance of time! It helps us make pizza, it keeps things in line". Duck and Yellow Guy: "But when did it start? And when will it stop?" Clock: "Time is important and I am a clock." The fact that it can help us make pizza as a divergent what-if to springboard off in-the-moment is considered by the clock to be more relevant than some eternal truth as to what time actually is, with the question of its true nature being dodged. This is extreme Ne, which is also where a senile quality can emerge, in which nobody really knows anything because only the off-the-cuff pizza ideas are being considered. What we could do by using time is of primary importance.

Drug Function? :0

I also feel that this is why it is often considered the 'drug' function. Being high often induces a state in which cognitive cohesion dissolves and previous contexts of thoughts are dismantled, the similar state most likely being responsible for an increase in creativity in many artists that do get high. If you cannot focus on anything other than the current ideational moment, including the context the moment was built upon, then you can go in radically creative directions. The most extreme version of this would most likely carry a senile quality, breaking ideational boundaries to the point in which the brain is addled beyond the possibility of proper, cohesive comprehension of anything (which requires ideational constraints). I do genuinely believe that psychoactive compounds may create a state of quasi-intuition in non-intuitive types, or even maximise it in intuitive types. It may even explain the Ne types attraction to alcohol in the drunk-Ne trope, i.e. Rick Sanchez - blurrier ideation and messier, less inhibited/constrained cognition is where Ne lives, so such compounds may make such a person feel 'more themselves' if they identify with this process so heavily.

4. Where the extraverted intuitive's greatest strength is ideational opportunism, their greatest weakness is neglect. In a state of severe Ne escapism, they neglect themselves, their relationships, their obligations, and so on, not wanting to be bound up by a single frame as they will be unable to access the next shiny new opportunity that may catch their eye, until they lose so much continuity in their life that they can barely recall why they are even doing what they are doing, repressed and aimless (senility). In their ideational transience, their attachment-forming and ability to codify sentiments long-term is often lower. In a dark state, they are a fantasist allowing the rest of the world to waste away provided it is exciting enough. Worse yet, they may not even realise they are doing it anymore, due to that senile characteristic. In their transformative ability, they lose a real store of definitive knowledge, truths and so on, so the idea that they even have a problem is in itself up for debate, as that rests upon many fixed axioms, which Ne rejects.

Examples

In their dark form, they are the evil clown, Batman's Joker and Harley Quinn, or The Terrifier's Art the clown. They are Rick and Morty's Rick Sanchez, neglecting family obligations and ruining his Grandson's school life in pursuit of escapism. I feel that you can also note Rick's senile quality in the first few episodes of the show, and the writers' drifts towards senile aspects for subversion in the original pilot, or buried within episodes like Morty's Mindblowers. Rick's drunkeness and forgoing his real backstory mirror this quality also. They are Better Call Saul's Jimmy McGill, burying his past and decodifying his attachment to as much as possible in pursuit of novel opportunism as an escape, whatever the consequence. I feel Bob Odenkirk plays inferior Si incredibly well; in certain scenes in which Howard or Kim are talking to Jimmy about Chuck's demise, he acts like he is almost unsure of who Chuck even is. Completely buried or dismantled long-term attachment and continuity to the point of near irrecognition of Chuck emotionally. They are Junko Enoshima, pursuing the insanity of despair over the sterility of hope, remarking that hope is too 'boring' and ordered. They are Willy Wonka running so far from his father that his occupation, his factory, becomes a surreal fantasyland full of exciting yet nonetheless dangerous hazards. ATEEZ Yeosang MBTI Analysis

- INTP -

An in-depth analysis of an idol's MBTI type. Based on my opinion and observations, may change later. Not an expert.

MBTI: INTP (Ti - Ne - Si - Fe)

Dom: Ti - Introverted Thinking

A judging function that uses subjective thinking and logic to make the most rational decisions

Yeosang is known for his bluntness, which is honestly the most Ti dom thing ever. He admits this himself, even saying the members are scared of his honesty. He isn't purposely mean though - Ti doms are just straightforward. They often don't see the point in sugarcoating if they see something wrong/irrational. Ti wants the truth always.

Aux: Ne - Extroverted Intuition

A perceiving function that creates new ideas through connections and patterns in the environment

His Ti - Ne shined in ep 5 of the Salary Lupin series. The way he thought of the theory of MPD being an obsessive lover of San and of Seonghwa being genderfluid was quite astounding. He connected the details so well that it was highly convincing. Although he was wrong, it was still impressive that he managed to come up with that (even if it was given to him by some sort of script - I doubt it would've been that descriptive). He even has a witty sense of humor that I've noticed in high Ne users (e.g when members were wondering about Woo's apple watch model and Yeosang proceeded to put a literal apple on his own wrist, calling it an old model).

Tert: Si - Introverted Sensing

A perceiving function that is focused on the internal sensations of the body. Prefers familiarity and internal structure

Yeosang seems comfortable keeping some sort of routine (e.g working out). He's quick at picking up choreo and can dance correctly not too long after, making him a perfect lead dancer. He likely has a good eye for detail.

Inf: Fe - Extroverted Feeling

Extroverted Feeling places importance on the values of others and group harmony. However, Yeosang is known to be quite blunt. He isn't rude on purpose, he's just honest (which seems to be a lot of IxTP's problem). A higher Fe position would likely sugarcoat or phrase their words carefully so that they still receive a positive reaction in the end.

For Yeosang, it seems he struggles with that. Like the time he was having some issues with Wooyoung, he didn't know how to talk about it. He didn't even want to bring up the issue for fear of disrupting peace. However, it ended up slipping out anyways accidentally on live. A lot of Fe inferior don't really know how to face issues they have with others properly. How to bring it up, the apropriate timing and setting, etc so they may end up having an emotional outburst.

He also tends to keep things to himself, only going to Hongjoong when he was struggling.

Why he's not an ISFP (Fi - Se - Ni - Te) or ISFJ (Si - Fe - Ti - Ne):

I don't think he's an ISFP since I don't see him use ISFP's functions at all. San is an ISFP and comparing the two, they're completely different. Of course not all ISFPs are the same, but Yeosang does not have a dominant/auxiliary feeling function at all.

Or an ISFJ...although same functions as INTP, just different order, I don't think he's a Si dom or Fe aux. He definitely does not seem Ne inferior.
