The shadows surrender to reveal the deck of cards beneath the flickering glow of a dying candle.

A soft sigh escapes his lips.

It wasn't uncommon for Taehyung to feel an initiative connection towards the deck he handles, or organizes, but what makes him intensely inquisitive is that once again, he feels the meticulous change about his surroundings. The sudden rise in temperature causes perspiration to gather around his temple, his throat cracking up with thirst, brain clogging up with an exhilarating energy which renders his mind empty.

The deck of cards resonate around his nimble fingers, and the glow of his jacquard fabric on his shawl glimmering a brilliant shine in his dim chamber. Taehyung’s hazel eyes concentrate on the message which they are trying to communicate; but something tells him that they're not messages, but rather, a signal. For him, to him.

Initially confused, he's not unfamiliar to any of the emotions he's going through, though. If anything, his heart palpitations grow as each whisper grows deeper in the depths of the night, and the stirring of his cock within his robes tells him that the message is solely for him; something which is a cue to be the querent.

With an anxious heart and an innate desire to understand what's the interpretation, he's quite relieved that the Arcana still resonates through their apprentices.

Lust.

His usually cold and eerily quiet chamber now tingles with the melody of the herb bottles crinkling against each other, notifying him of a possible augury. Whether it was a good one, or a bad one, was totally now upto what his fate had in for him.

His mind drifts over to the time when he used to work for his Master, and how his master especially warned him of the introspection sometimes the existential wisdom can lead him through the magical realm. A longing press vibrates against his chest at the remainder, something he admittedly made himself forget. A deep yearn for something, something.

Melancholy.

Shifting uncomfortably in his mat, Taehyung spreads out the deck of cards grasped within his hands on the table, each one carrying the weight of a story yet to unfold. His pupils dilate, threatening to shallow the thin, tawny ring surrounding them as his own energy intertwined with the symbolism of the cards, something Taehyung knew was necessary for proper response.

His hands, shuffling down the two decks to feel which card, frenzied their energies to reach out to him; his calculating gaze locked with the cards spread out and the energy between them pulsed with intensity. It was a representation of the unseen forces at play—a dance of hearts, an exploration of desire, suppression of feelings and congested desires.

His eyes widen when his brain tries to examine the possibility of two voices together in the realm; and when his hands sort out the two cards together to place them on the velvety rug, his eyebrows shoot up to his hairline, hiding underneath the black shawl he draped himself in.

The bubbling confusion dies in this throat. Impossible.

The Lovers card, now revealed, depicted two figures entwined in a dance; and right beside it stays the Five of Cups, unveiled in its melancholic vicinity, portrayed a solitary figure standing amidst spilled cups.

His palms feel sweaty by the time his lips part to withdraw an exasperated sigh, equally puzzled and frustrated about the peculiar and out of the box combination; but his heart throbbed at the confirmation of what he had surmised already.

So did his cock.

Even in the realms of clandestine destiny, there was no answer to which face of the conjuncture was for him— he wasn't bothered about any, but he was for the fact that the realm chose him. Arcana chose this odd combination for him. Ever since he's been told to never ever doubt Arcana and Their choices, Taehyung couldn't help but feel uncanny when he felt the tapestry of emotions inside him swirl like crazy— melancholy poking his heart with a potential to Destroy—and his body burning with the ache to touch himself, to please himself.

Yet none exceeded the excitement he felt at that moment, the dim illumination of the chamber making the glimmer of his eyes stand out with a grin stretched on his ridiculously pretty face.

Afterall, he was chosen for the fortune hour.

a/n : this idea of fortune reader!tae has been on my mind rent free ever since the season greetings 2022 has been out 😫 though this genre is totally new and difficult for me to write, i’ve had fun writing it so far! i’m currently at 7k words and wanted to share it with readers to know your opinion.

A D&D (5th Ed!) Character Survey!

Made because my WoD one doesn’t work well for D&D which is what I’m mostly playing now! I love doing these after I’ve played my character a few times as they let me develop them - and I love redoing them later to see how much they’ve changed. I imagined other people do too!

The Sheet

What is your character's full name? Why did you choose it and does it have any special significance in or out of character?

Does your character have any nicknames or alternate names they go by? How did they get them?

What race is your character? How/Why did you choose it for them? Was it just for stats reasons - or was it because of the back story you had in mind? Explain it to us!

What class(es) is/are your character? How did they come to be that?

If you had to sum up your character in five words or less, how would you do it?

List your characters attributes, and then head over here and copy paste what each level corresponds to.

Now, looking at above - would you say that matches how you think of your character in your head? Why did you choose to make your character's lowest stat their lowest stat?

List what skills your character has proficiency and expertise in. How did they gain proficiency/expertise in these skills? I don't mean like "I dunno, I chose them," they had to develop them at some point through their life, right? As an example: if they have arcana proficient - did they study with a wizard? Were they having to work with a lot of magical items?

What is your character's alignment? Why did you choose it? Head here and copy paste the description of your character's alignment. Does it sound fitting?

Before we continue on: have all these things always been the same for your character? Has their race ever changed due to a reincarnation spell? Did they always intend to multiclass? Have you altered their alignment? Don't explain thoroughly yet - just say yes/no, and if yes, note what changed, but not why.

Describe the realm in which your character's game takes place. Are you playing in a pre-made world like Faerun, is it homemade by your DM, etc. What's the area like? How’d your character get to where they are now?

Brawny or Scrawny

So earlier, you talked about your character's race. In D&D, races can age and die fast (half-orcs generally only last 50-60 years) while some last forever (elves can live centuries.) You can see the general age range of races here. So how old is your character? Do they look older or younger than their age? How do you indicate their age?

What gender does your character identify as?

How tall is your character? Is this tall or short for their race?

Describe your character's body type - slender, overweight, gangly, stubby-limbed, pear-shaped, stocky, etc.

Describe your character walking in three totally different locales: First, describe them walking in a place they feel comfortable and safe. Second, describe how they walk through a dungeon laced with traps. Third, describe them walking in a place where they feel extremely out of place - say a druid who hates cities in the middle of a city at a party, or a rogue who hates spotlight walking across a stage.

What's your character's skin color and general appearance otherwise - example: blotchy, ashy, covered in boils, etc?

What's your character's hair color/style/general appearance? If they vary it, give us some examples of styles.

What color are your character's eyes? Do their eyes stand out in any special way (for the sorcerers out there!)?

Describe your character as purple prosey as possible - as if someone who considers them the love of their life has just spotted them across a room and is writing it in a romance novel.

Look, in D&D, most races don't stand out - like sure, dragonborn and tiefling are rare in most games, but people are still used to them so they don't cast a second glance. Thus: what is your character's most distinguishing feature, basic "well I'm an X!" aside? What’s the first thing someone notices about them?

Does your character have any scars, tattoos, or birthmarks? Describe ‘em, as well as how/why they got them.

Describe your characters general clothing style. What do they wear when relaxing and not on an adventure? What do they wear on an adventure? See if you can find some outfit examples.

What weapons does your character carry? Please note for our magic users, this means your arcane foci and pouches too!

Does your character have any magic items? What are they? What do they do?

Does your character have any other accessories they commonly wear?

Describe your character’s voice - what’s the tenor, is it scratchy like they smoke nine packs a day, do they have any specific accent? It's a fantasy world, sure, but that doesn't mean you can't add an accent. Also on that note - does it ever change? Example: some people have a customer service voice where things are suddenly peppy and bouncy.

Friends, Families, and the Jerks You Travel With

You're born to a family whether you love them or hate them - in most cases, anyway. In D&D you can have all sorts of starts to your life. What did your character’s family consist of as they grew older - and are they still around now? Describe each family member - or if they were orphaned, the people at the orphanage, or if they were adopted, that. Does your character miss them - hate them - love them - want to avoid them? Describe your character's relationship to them.

Who's in your character's party, and what are their real, honest opinions of them? If you're in a West Marches style D&D game - where you have a much larger group of 10+ and you travel on an adventure with whoever you can gather each week - just choose the characters who would make the ideal party for your PC here.

Are there any NPCs (Non-Player-Characters - those people the DM plays) who aren't part of the aforementioned party your character is attached to? What does your PC think of them, and why are they close?

Got any other - maybe not friends, but positive relationships aside from the aforementioned? What's your relationship with them?

All righty - in a D&D game you ALWAYS have monsters to fight - but who's the big bad, if you have one? Why does your character want to put a stop to them? Are there any smaller villains in your campaign your character wants to put a stop to?

So you may have mentioned a love interest or two before this point - if so, describe a little more about your character's relationship with this/these person(s), and how they became love interest(s). Does your character have any crushes outside of their love interest(s)? Why?

The Past

We know where your character's game takes place. Is this the same place they grew up - or some place they came more recently? What do they love or hate about it?

Does your character have any notable family history they have to live up to, or an infamous ancestor, or some sort of ancient legacy they have to take the mantle up on? Have they been gifted any sort of destiny super quest from their god of choice? Basically - has something extremely notable happened to set up your character? Are they going to follow it - or try to subvert it? If they don't have one - do they wish they did?

What was your character's childhood like? Was it traumatic - or happy? Pick three memories from their childhood and describe them in a paragraph - try to vary them.At least one happy and one sad. The third should lean toward how their childhood was - that is, if traumatic, make it sad, etc.

D&D games aren't rife with proper schooling, but there are mage colleges and towers and some countries have schooling - so what was your character's education like? How were they in school, how much school did they complete? I don’t even just mean the academic side here, I mean, the social side. What were their cliques (as much as you can compare them to Modern Teen Movies, anyway), their stereotypes, etc.

What’s your characters vocational life like? Have they worked a bunch of jobs, or just one - did they intern? What’s their dream job, did they ever get fired, etc. Are they too young to have had a job?

I'm presuming you've been on this adventure for at least a little bit at this point. Let's go back to your party members. List each one, and then a short line referencing a memory or scene that cemented your character's relationship with that character - or a moment that defined their relationship. For instance, say your relationship with Horb the Half-Orc was fine - but you became friends once when he approached you while you were losing at cards and he subtly stood behind a guy and made him nervous, helping you win. Etc.

What have been your character's two happiest moments on the adventure?

What have been the two most traumatic moments on the adventure for your character?

What are two moments that had you - the player - laughing aloud during the adventure? Equally, have you ever cried? Was it at the traumatic moments - or something else?

So - earlier I asked if things on your character's sheet had always been the way they are now. Not counting feats/basic mechanical upgrades that changed things - what happened that caused your character to change? If they changed alignment, why? If they changed race, gender - what happened? Why did they multiclass?

What's Inside Your Heart

Give me six words that describe your character. Three positive, three negative. Adjectives or nouns work. Make sure your negatives are actually negatives. "Too nice :)" isn't a negative. Don't try to explain away anything. Just state it, leave it. Don't include "sort ofs." Sort ofs are BORING.

What's your character's sexual orientation? Romantic orientation? What is your character into romantically (by which I mean - what do they want out of a date and a relationship)? Do they have a TYPE?

Purqun Tiahin Introduction!

fHello everyone and welcome to another introduction! We haven’t posted in a while because we are very lazy, but now that school started I will be looking forward to write more, as some kind of reward for my hard work :P I know none of you are actually reading us, but if one day we get well known maybe you will see how bad we are. Anyway, today I’ll be presenting the biggest nerd but also the strongest girl of the session, our purple blood Purqun Tiahin! As always I’ll be presenting according to the following with just a little change:

1.Basic Informations and life stuff:

Starting off with the basics of basic informations, Purqun Tiahin is a purple blooded troll, and as her blood caste shows, she’s a tall girl with long black hair. But who cares about appareances? Artists most probably, but I’m divaguing. This time, Purqun doesn’t mean aything I know of, as it was an oc I got by adopting her. Only her sprite and a few facts about her, and here I went creating her!

Unlike other purple bloods, she despises violence, and is always looking for a calm place to stay. Thankfully, her hive is everything she could have ever asked for, it being an incredibly large castle, with about a fourth of it being a library. Indeed, Purqun is the kind of person you see either with a book, a lack of sleep, or their legs hugged to their chest. Since her life has been surrounded with books her whole life she not only like reading and staying up at day (???) to finish a book, but she also lives in a world of Pure Imagination. She likes fantasy books the most, with a cute romance between the hero and the princess. But she was put in such a place for obscure reasons.

When her lusus picked her, she was forced to go live in that castle with her new grub. Vulturemom (purqun’s lusus) tried to keep her grub away from the world she was fated for, which is being the official writer of the Purple Chronics, a 24 volumes series, each about a purple sign, counting the adventures and prowesses of the Clown Church’s followers. Through the sweeps, after her lusus gave up on keeping her away from her destiny, she writes 3 of them, her ancestors, Chahut’s and Gamzee’s. But before finishind all of them, in her 9th sweep, she gets into sburb and she’ll understand how stupid this whole thing was, though she might tell you about the purple chronicles if you ask about it!

Purqun is Namurr’s matesprite, and she met her thanks to her moirail who will be presented next by mod ral! Her kismesis has also been presented, and it is Mutirr! Indeed, through the game, Mutirr discovered that her descendant was dating a purple blood, and because of her own matesprite, she got to dislike highbloods, and as she got to really like her descendant, she couldn’t help but hate Purqun for dating her, so they both agreed to get into a kismesissitude.

2. Personality

First, I’d like you to imagine your life, away from any other life forms out of cockroaches and your bird mom, in a large castle you can’t explore. Purqun grew mad at this situation and decided to explore it all when she was just a kid and ended up getting lost where she was forbidden to go to: the library. After a few days in there, and after her lusus found her again, she became very curious about all of this, and started reading. Thanks to all the fictions she has read, she has become a very open and kind hearted person, as it is told in adventures novels or love stories. She is a huge fan of love fictions, and she herself likes to write some in her free time.

The said free time is pretty small. Indeed, after finally getting interested in her duty as the writer of the Purple Chronicles, she was forced to spend at least 16 hours a day in her library to learn about different writing styles to be the most efficient possible while writing the different volumes. This also created some parts of her personality, like the fact that she is open but can also be very rude if she’s being interrupted in her work. Because of that she became paranoid, and her mental state was detoriating with time. But one day, as she was already managing the library, as a lot of highbloods were interested in her collection, a teal blooded girl came to ask about some book, and from this day, she kept coming times to times, and the two girls kept in touch and at one point much later, they got into a matespriteship, and maybe you’ve got that the teal blooded girl is actually Namurr.

Actually, a few weeks before, Purqun met a bronzeblood, and became moirail with him, and he saw that she didn’t have enough time to have friends so he decided to send one of his friends there for her! What a great friend really, he is so cute. But thanks to those two people, she got new friends, and came back to her original self, the open and kind hearted self.

However, through the years, Purqun was like any other purple blood, very hot tempered. Even if she is nice to the people coming to get some books, she despises rude people, or very noisy people. In those case she could also be rude, but most of the time she’ll go straight for the kick in the butt out of the building, but given that her feet are covered by iron boots, I don’t think it would just leave a few marks. But like some people, she could either break things or take a bath, it would make her feel much more relaxed and calm her down $, releasing her from all the pression that’s put on her shoulders.

3. Miscellaneous content and stuff about sburb

In sburb, Purqun was of great help to the team, as she was probably the tankiest of all the 12 trolls, and the closed range fighter. With her notebook&pencilkind as her strife specibi, she can combine both of them for defense and offense respectively, as she can make the pen as long as she wants or as hard as she wants with a bit of crafting, which helps when her favorite way of fighting is through throwing both of her weapons really hard at people. When they all entered their mediums, she got in the game thanks to the Fushia blood of the team and got the rust blood in, the two that you will see soon probably. I

never mentionned it here, but she’s our sylph of life, as she’s literally a story teller. In a basic way, sylphs can tell you about their aspect and heal through or the aspect in particular to others. As a sylph of life, she is able to “heal life”, which means she can revive anyone, make someone old young again, cool stuff like that. Her medium is the Land of Snowdrops and Crowns (LoSaC), and surprisngly enough, there’s literally no crowns visible at the surface of the planet, which is covered in snow. Her quest is to find a way to get all of those crowns out of the snow, by either makig them all come at the surface or make all of the snow melt, at the price of disrupting the cold ecosystem for the consorts.

Her fetch modus is pretty annoying, but quite interesting in my opinion. To retrieve an item out of her inventory, she needs to tell a story about the said object without saying what it is, and the most related item to the story will be taken out.

Her whole look is inspired of coats gentlefolks used to wear in europe (and probably in america idk), and since I don’t want to add more pics in there, look for Julian from the Arcana game, he wears something like that. She also wears very big boots, kind of looking like equius’ but more of a steel and kicking hard type.

→ Profile. Class. 3-A. Personality. Tamaki is extremely shy, aloof, depressed, "intimidating" and introverted, especially around audiences. He gets nervous very easily when talking to other people. If his anxiety gets the best of him, Tamaki will often face away and lean into a wall to hide his face from others. This also happens whenever Tamaki has a bad feeling or feels insulted. While his physical abilities and Quirk are outstanding, Tamaki is very socially awkward and lacks confidence in his own powers. He apparently feels overwhelmed by the pressure to be perfect and this has damaged his self-esteem.

The bullet had been the finished product , and rather than allowing Red Riot to even get remotely close to it due to his duty to protect his underclassman, he got shot twice. Realization taking its sweet time to dawn on him, his quirk didn’t activate no matter how much he tried anxiety was eating him up, he felt nauseous and a cold sweat ran down his back even if the situation at hand was soon to reach a solution. His was nowhere near close, his judgement clouded and he didn’t register any single word spoken to him, it was as if people was speaking underwater. When he arrived to the hospital with both of his current teammates and he was given an official diagnosis, that the body part that contained his quirk was permanently damaged he didn’t utter a single word. He didn’t cry. Not at first, not in public. Kirishima had escorted him back to his room, an uneasy air between them but Tamaki found enough strength left within him to smile and pat his shoulder prior locking himself inside his room and then, and only then, he felt a panic attack raise. It threatened to appear before but he swallowed it down, but now he was left alone and he was vulnerable. He sunk to the floor, his breathing erratic as he bit his lower lip not to scream at the top of his lungs. Tears were rolling down his cheeks as he covered his eyes, he didn’t want to see. He didn’t want to face reality. No one aside Kirishima and Fatgum knew this, how is he supposed to tell his parents? How is he supposed to... tell Mirio and Nejire? Tamaki felt ashamed, hiccups leaving his lips as he tried to breathe, desperately trying to get some air in his lungs since the pounding of his head wasn’t getting any better. He couldn’t even picture himself telling this to either of his friends, they would worry for sure. They’d feel guilty for not being there, he didn’t need that he didn’t need Mirio to panic about his current state. Tamaki could feel gagging at the sole image of his worry, his nausea combined with his panic attack wasn’t making any of this better. It took him a while to breathe, even longer not to shake from the cold sweat. He didn’t want to sleep but his body was going numb and the floor was cold in contrast to the fever that was soon to follow.

Pro-hero verse. Tag. 「 V04 ; Tamaki ／ ᵇʳⁱᵍʰᵗᵉʳ ᵗʰᵃⁿ ᵃⁿʸ ˢᵘⁿ 」 After graduation, he kept on working with Fatgum for about five months prior to starting his own hero agency alongside Mirio due to being a dream of theirs from young age. Not only that but since he had shown potential as a student whose only limit was his perfectionism that shared a double-side with his pessimistic self, now as a pro-hero he raised to the top ten which, in consequence, made him rise in popularity charts and gain quite the stable fanbase.

Their meeting still took place, a gloomy new kid on his own in the corridor was approached by an hyperactive and loud blond, a peculiar meeting with an ever lasting bond; years passed by and they even shared middle school, graduating earlier had made Tamaki anxious but he was giving his best and cried tears of joy when he managed to enter U.A.. Entering first had been an experience, he had trouble interacting with others but, this time around, he talked more with his classmates not enough to suddenly be called a social butterfly, but enough to be acknowledged by most and made other friends besides Hado. If anything, he could not wait for Mirio to enter and surprise him with his newly adquired social skills and help him like a big brother would, it was his time to actually be the one helping instead of being saved.

Eldarya / Fantasy verse. Tag. 「 V09 ; Tamaki ／」 A half-human and half-vampire breed, he was rather thankful his parents decided to leave Earth when the war broke down and hid in the safety of Eldarya though nowdays it was quite the ongoing crisis with the missing pieces of the heart of the crystal. Either way, as part of the Garde Obsidienne... his everyday life is filled with heavy work and constant sparring, on rare ocassions does he actually work as guard or escort. Whenever he has free time, however, he likes to practice his magic and how could he apply it in combat it was rather particular and there weren’t many reports on it aside a mutation given by his birth origin, other half-bloods would have something similar yet never quite the same, always something far too different and original from one another.

My next life as a villainess, all routes lead to doom verse. Tag. 「 V14 ; Tamaki ／」 It was quite the experience to learn that this was, in fact, not his world and that he had died during a rescue mission by putting priority to the people quirks might not be real but magic was, which didn’t make this any better. Not only did he have his past memories after experiencing a panic attack that drew all oxygen out of his lungs, leading him to pass out and wake up on his bed, but he was supposedly a mob character ( from a game that he once saw Hado play )? Well that alone would be amazing because his existence wouldn’t change anything, but he had light magic? And wait, hold up, this is the sequel and his destiny is to the hidden romance option?
