My husband is a man who collects things he can use. A pistol, a pocket-watch, a woman's love, a wife....
I'm obsessed with That Scene(tm) between Katya and Andrei in the California Director's Cut Rerelease of Goncharov, so I did a lighting study inspired by the film's Art Deco Posters! Little details like Katya never referring to her husband by his first name really add to Andrey and Katya's tense dynamic, which is one of the most underrated parts of the movie imo.

The Tragedy of Unchecked Misinformation: An Appeal for Responsible Internet Use
Has anyone else noticed the dangerous common denominator in this maelstrom of pseudoscientific gibberish flooding the internet? Let me shed some light if you haven't: it's the rampant, unrestricted access to information dissemination platforms, granted indiscriminately to all — regardless of their level of intellectual maturity or educational background.
Irresponsible Internet Access: A Lurking Threat
Imagine providing a toddler with a loaded firearm — it's as preposterously reckless as it sounds. Now, think of granting anyone and everyone the means to freely navigate and contribute to the internet — same level of danger, but with far-reaching and often irreversible repercussions. Our failure to regulate access to the digital world has allowed the perpetuation of baseless theories, the promotion of pseudoscience, and the flourishing of outright lies.
Take, for instance, an unsettling trend I recently stumbled upon — a video promoting borax ingestion as some sort of dietary supplement or 'health fad.' While this isn't about vilifying a specific demographic, it is concerning to observe such harmful misinformation being propagated by people, who are — ironically — often seen as caretakers and educators in their households. It's vital to remember, however, that being taken in by such dangerous misinformation is not exclusive to any one group; it is an issue that transcends gender, age, and social status, underscoring the critical importance of digital literacy for all internet users.
The Age of Misinformation: A Gullible Audience
Compounding the issue of unchecked internet access is the alarming readiness of certain internet users to uncritically accept any and all information presented to them. This unfortunate trait has fueled the rise of damaging belief systems, from anti-vaxxers and climate change deniers to COVID-19 skeptics and flat-earth believers. This willingness to believe in unverifiable claims extends to religious dogmatism, with unscientific declarations like 'Jesus is real' shared as truths without empirical validation.
A Call to Arms: Quality Control and Regulated Access
With today's advanced technology, we possess the means to combat this wave of misinformation. We could, theoretically, have artificial intelligence ensure the veracity of shared online content, safeguarding the reliability of digital information. Yet, our focus is scattered — engrossed in perpetuating bigotry against various marginalized groups, and misguidedly 'canceling' individuals as a self-congratulatory act of faux-justice.
As the world continues to burn, both literally and metaphorically, and as the internet increasingly mirrors the lowest common denominator of human intellect, it's high time for rational and critical thinkers to step up. We need to convince our governing bodies to implement stricter regulations on internet access and enforce quality control measures for online content.
The need of the hour is to act — before the avalanche of misinformation turns into an unstoppable force, inflicting irrevocable damage on our society and future generations. Our collective survival could depend on it.
DO NOT INGEST BORAX!!!

in kpts, almost everyone in the mafia is trapped there. a good half of them clearly want out.
porsche vehemently doesn't even want in. he resists to the best of his ability, and even once he's in, he still dreams of that bar on the beach. chay would drop the mafia in a heartbeat, if he felt that it was possible. kim's already got one foot out the door. kinn wishes he could have even half of what kim has, but he's been thoroughly convinced he's never allowed to have it.
so despite all these characters who would love to be let loose, who would kill for a chance at true freedom — would run off into the sunset and never look back — it's interesting that the narrative gives the slightest promise of freedom to the two characters who didn't know it was possible, who never even thought to dream of it. vegas and pete do not understand the value of what they've been handed.
will they ever understand? will they ever see that freedom as a gift instead of a curse?

As a former horse girl, I am standing up for horse girl Harrow rights. Sometimes you’re small and from a rural area so you put all your childhood angst into horseback riding. She would have a small black Arabian and they would have a deep unspoken bond, Aragon-style. She deserves a horse bestie.
While I have trouble imagining Harrow going for a hobby that's both athletic and requires a bond of trust with another living being, what are AUs for if not exploring new angles on characters? I support your horse girl Harrow AU. It would good for her, to have a living companion that doesn't understand complex human ideas like war crimes.

make an au that isn’t tragic for one or more brother challenge (impossible)
anyway au idea where sonic’s entire life was predetermined by the emeralds and his close friends were all created by an emerald to lead him down a path and when the fulfill their goal, they just get removed from existence pretty much right in front of him
basically sonic gets the illusion of choice (i was thinking of a moment where he confronts the emeralds and they use projections of his friends to try to convince him to turn back to his destiny and he has to choose between turning back and destroying the projection)

“The illusion of freedom will continue as long as it's profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater.”

I've been thinking so much about the final two lines of that Hua Xi poem you shared a few days ago, "my eyes adjust to the dark, but my heart never." I will see injustice clearly. I will not look away. But I will not let it numb me. Thank you for sharing that bit of text with us ❤
let your eyes adjust to the dark but only in order to find the way out again

I am shaking with fucking rage listening to this state of the union i think maybe two other faces have made me instantly get this angry.
I am not your "fellow American." I refuse to be American if this is what it means to be American. I am human before I am an American.
I refuse to die before I see a free Palestine. I will see a free Palestine in my lifetime. I refuse to die before I can see a free world. I will see everyone free in my lifetime because I refuse to die without seeing it. It's probably impossible but I don't care because I have to see it. I'm sick of seeing anything else.

Meditation is the way out of this illusion. It's the Pill of Divinity.
If you don't meditate, you will be a slave to your genitals.
If you don't meditate, you will be a slave to your stomach.
If you don't meditate, you will be a slave to money.
If you don't meditate, you will be a slave to what men and wives think.
Meditation requires discipline. If you don't pro-actively add this discipline in your life, other hardships will enter your life so that you do gain discipline.
Meditation strengthens your willpower so that you won't need any of the crutches you have right now that will surely destroy your mind and body in the long run. Bad habits will naturally fall away as your mind becomes clean. There is a scientific process to finding the Present Moment that has already been discovered by the Masters of Yoga, anything else is a waste of time. Everybody else wants your attention because they're parasites with an agenda.
If you want to live a life free from worldliness, you have to meditate. There's no other way. Hopefully you can see the correlation between what I've posted recently and Scientific Meditation. It's the only path to true liberation and it is the only way to truly rebel against depravity.
Ultimately, this is a world that depends on your emotionality and your lack of self control so they can swoop in, profit from it and tell you that you need a dick in your face to keep you happy and braindead: the modern day lobotomy.
Whatever you think meditation is in your ignorant and brainwashed state of mind, you're wrong.
How do I know? I thought like that too and I've tried everything before concentrating on one object or thought. I've tried everything but having a dedicated routine to my soul and God. But it's your choice to be confused and confusing. I'm just letting you know you have options.

Comes to You
Have you ever noticed that the world comes to you? In fact, the entire universe comes to you! It all comes to you, and the question becomes: what is your answer?
"Comes to you" comes from all your sensory processes. You do not have to do anything. You don't have to lift a finger! It is a gift from the universe. The chemical-electrical signals of the universe enters inside of you. Then, what do you do with this gift?
You are in an enclosed bubble and the entire universe is outside. The universe enters inside your bubble, one input at a time. The amount the universe enters inside your bubble depends on your reaction. What do you do with all of this?
Your reaction is your answer. You push back. You take the very, small piece of the universe and you bounce it back to where it came from. A small piece of the universe stays with you and the rest bounces back. What stays with you, changes you.
The universe enters and the universe leaves. How much the universe leaves behind depends on you. That is how simple this is! This is what the universe left behind: The universe gave you life. Gave you consciousness. Gave you existence. And now, what do you do?

Just saw a post about Jester’s Privilege and (link) for those who want a definition and I wanna apply it to Spamvil:
Imagine Spamton and Jevil are thoroughly in the dating/smitten phase but Jevil still cannot stop making jabs and jokes at Spamton’s expense. Cute moment’s inturupted by a riddle mocking Spam’s gushiness or just a jab at his world view. It’s all in good fun, that’s just Jevil’s humor and the way he plays around. But Spamton takes so much of it to heart cuz it’s his partner saying it and it’s already hard enough to decipher what Jevil general means about certain things, let alone if he genuinely respects him in the relationship.
Cue Spamton just straight up having this like break down cause he needs to know if Jevil means the jokes he makes or why he makes them so often and Jevil’s just like “They are just jokes, jokes? Why are you so wound up, up?” cause he’s a jester and the card kingdom’s resident madman, no one has ever taken him seriously because his whole existence is being part of the bit. Then Spamton has to explain that his words mean a lot to him and that in their more intimate moments they aren’t just words or a bit but something he has to take to heart because being part of a relationship require you to take your partner seriously and Spamton needs that part.
So for the first time in a long time Jevil has to reevaluate that some games and jesting should be paused or reserved and it’s important to check when a joke doesn’t land, cause for a first time in a long time or ever his words actually matter/mean something to someone.

"Even more dangerous than ignorance, however, is a fallacious certitude, which can afflict people at all educational levels and all IQ levels. While we may not see our own fallacies, the saving grace in this situation is taht we can often see other people's fallacies much more clearly - and they can see ours. In a world of inevitably fallible human beings, with inevitably different viewpoints and different fragments of consequential knowledge, our ability to correct each other can be essential to preventing our making fatally dangerous mistakes as individuals, or as a society." -- Thomas Sowell
