HJ!Fundy

Hero’s Journey is my attempt to cram every single canon thing (hard, dubious, and semi-retconned) into one cohesive timeline. I can’t wrap my head around the FundyWasTaken/Dreamon Hunter bit within any normal scenario, so I took A LOT of liberties with character interpretation and just split Fundy’s character into two. I differentiate them as Fundy and Dage.

Anyway, this is Fundage II and Salome Wastaken. They’re salmon-hybrid siblings. Fundy really looks up to his uncle, so when he transitioned, he took his uncle’s name.

Also, Dream took Dage’s surname even though they never ended up getting married, hence the Wastaken. (Fundy’s Wedding video is a dream sequence)

I was a 5up among us enjoyer/5undy shipper in autumn 2020 lmfaoo and i vaguely knew abt the dream smp through a discord server I was in? I watched the fundywastaken wedding video without knowing who dream was lmao

Then my brother was obsessed with the manhunts in January 2021 or so and introduced me to dream properly and well. I got obsessed, binged all his videos, binged all of George's, then got into dnf clip compilations (thanks space croissant. shoutout to space croissant) and THEN tumbled into dsmp lore. Lurked on dtblr for like a year until I started accepting my hyperfixation was indeed minecraft roleplay and rpf shipping and hashtag cringe was dead 🥳

And now I'm here!! Still!! Wahoo!

So, in my pre-canon fic, I wanted to be self-indulgent and include all the most obscure lore and some dubious lore I could find. I also wanted to reference retconned lore too because I can.

Specifically, I wanted to include the whole FundyWasTaken subplot because dude, Fundy’s wedding video had so much effort put into it like literally what the fuck.

Anyway, since dsmp!Fundy is literally a child at the start of canon and therefore wasn’t even born yet in the timeline of my precanon fic, I obviously can’t do the fwt subplot, right? Right?

Wrong! I made two versions of Fundy. In order to rationalize this decision, I made it so that newly identified son of Wilbur Soot took his name from his famous bounty hunter uncle. This bounty hunter is the other version of Fundy, the one being paired (implied) with c!Dream.

Both Fundy Soot and this bounty hunter have the full name: Fundage. The bounty hunter is called Dage by Dream throughout the fic to separate him from Fundy Soot.
