One of the happiest, most exciting things about revisiting trc now is that back when I first read them I wanted to draw every scene but I was lacking the skills to.

And now I’m looking at every dog-eared page, every paragraph I highlighted with a grin on my face, because I can. Cars are no longer a scary thing to draw, I know exactly how I want the characters to look like, and more importantly I know what emotion I want a piece to convey and I feel confident I can convey it.

What a day!! 20 yo me would definitely be gobsmacked and I am living for it

(Sorry for the rambling but I don’t think you realize how important those books are to me, simply put they are my roman empire)

A lot of Christians like to use "Honor thy father and mother" to shame you for cutting off family members, regardless of how abusive, narcissistic, or generally unhealthy they are to you and/or the rest of your family. And this really irritates me.

For some reason, they (in reference to Christians who do say this) seem to think it's the child's responsibility to parent their own parents, despite them literally being the child. "You have to make it work", "You are supposed to support your family", "you need to try and make it work; they're your family".

Like, that's not what "Honor thy father and mother" means, at least not to that extent. They are missing the "Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.” (Ephesians 6:4) part of the equation.

Or: “Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.” (Proverbs 4:23)

The Bible even says to cut these people off:

“But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of brother or sister who is sexually immoral or greedy, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or robber. Do not even eat with such a one.” (1 Corinithians 5:11)

“I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them.” (Romans 16:17)

“As for a person who stirs up division, after warning him once and then twice, have nothing more to do with him.” (Titus 3:10)

“Do not be deceived: Bad company ruins good morals.” (1 Corinithians 15:33)

“Stay away from a fool, for you will not find knowledge on their lips.” (Proverbs 14:7)

Sometimes, you have to let people go, even family. You can't force someone to change, force someone to stop their actions, or force someone to take responsibility. They must do that on their own, especially if they are an adult.

Don't feel shame for cutting off a family member who's doing you harm. You can't keep chasing after someone who won't change.

the scene in gotg vol 3 where rocket finds the baby raccoons absolutely wrecked me. he finally discovered that he truly was a raccoon, before he was torn apart and made into something else. the way he tenderly gathered them all into his arms and made sure none of them fell was heart wrenching yet so sweet to watch

So with the self-imposed house arrest underway, does DMK actually have any forms of entertainment in his room? His prime at least had a television set and some books laying around to help pass the time, does DMK have a similar setup? (dark can actually read...right?)

Books don't hold his interest very long, and cooking is only available as a nighttime activity, so he spends a lot of his time either napping or digging through all his stuff when he can't leave. He's got a phone as well, as up to date as they are in the Mirror World (which is ahead of Dreamland at least). It's hit or miss whether anyone he'd want to call would have one too, though. They haven't quite caught on.

I am so goddamn tired of society acting like we're not!!! I am so goddamn tired of us as a society acting like we are above all the other animals!!! I do not care that we are the apex!!! We are fucking ANIMALS!!! Like, just take a step back and observe us like we have our own nature documentary on Nat Geo or something. Maybe with David Attenborough or whatever, idc. Just imagine it.

We are a species of apes that just so happened to gain the ability of extremely complex and abstract thought, capability of language, an almost absurd level of self-awareness, and the type of intelligence that allowed us to discover, invent, and develop tools. A species of apes that just so happen to have such a crazy level of curiosity that we have the capability to learn about the world around us, and beyond.

The way we learn and develop is fascinating. If you observe a toddler from that standpoint, watching them interact with the world around them, you'd see how natural curiosity is to us, in our human nature. Neil deGrasse Tyson has literally said that children are beings of chaos because they're curious and learning about the world around them.

We all have children in us, just like we have our ancestors in us!!! Our brains are wired like theirs. Relatively, we have been in this state of society for an extremely short amount of time!! Our brains and nervous systems are still wired to survive and keep us safe from predators and other dangers!!

We are social creatures!! We need love and connection to survive!! We can't do things on our own. The only reason we ever got to where we are is because we work together and communicate and share knowledge. The way society is right now is too isolating!! Humans aren't meant to be fighting for a place in society!! Haven't you seen zookeepers?? Or anyone who cares for nature in any capacity?? We have an incredible capacity for compassion and caretaking, because we have the capability to know and understand the inner workings of ourselves and countless other species!! Caretaking and compassion is literally an innate human trait!! We're supposed to take care of each other and the world around us!! We literally are capable of pack bonding with ROOMBAS, for fucks sake!! Little robots that our ape brains see moving around on its own, being part of our homes, and thinks "little guy is alive... I love him"!!! Isn't that beautiful???

We were an evolution of Mother Earth, Herself, to grow Her and expand Her and care for Her!!! Whether you believe in intelligent design or just the absurdity of it all, it still happened like that. We have the capacity to care for Her in an evolved level, yet we're fucking it up so badly right now.

Indigenous cultures have always been on the right track. They've always been right about this. They have always known that we are all pieces of the same organism, just like the atoms and cells and organs and electricity in your body are all part of one body!!

And btw, culture is another HUGE part of us being social creatures!! Being expressive and creative and connected!! That's part of our nature!! We're meant to sing and dance and laugh together!! That connectivity of us being a collective is So Important!!! Making fun of people for being "sheep", or having "herd mentality" every single time is so stupid because yes!!! Yes that's EXACTLY how we are supposed to be!!! We are social creatures, remember?? The whole point is that we do things together!!!

I know how society is rn isn't the end all, be all, but it just breaks my heart that this Capitalism shit goes against some of the most beautiful parts of humanity!! We are animals!!! We are cute and curious and compassionate and social and we need warmth and sunlight and sustenance from the earth and water and sleep and shelter from the elements!! We have instincts just like everything else!! We came from the dust and we will return to the dust because we will always be part of the Earth, just like all the other animals!! And somehow, despite all odds, despite how robotic Capitalism wants us to be, our human nature seeps into everything.

Take care of yourself! You are an animal, after all! <3

As much as i hate and reject the s8-post cannon… i can’t deny one of my favourite klance tropes occurs during that span of time.

Lance waking up cold and sweating in the middle of the night, trapped in a mundane life, aching with years of unresolved trauma and dormant adrenaline.

Something in his body just knows. That this isn’t right. When his friends told him to give himself time, that adjusting to normality wouldn’t be easy, he’d laughed. Adapting is what he does. But he’s not normal, how could he possibly be normal after everything that happened to him?

He thinks back to a time when all he wanted was a quiet life like this. But it’s hollow, and he feels more alone than he ever did when they were trapped in space. It’s not some grand realisation, really. But a quiet, resolved awakening. A primal acknowledgment that snags his soul to heel.

It was always him. (I told you so).

Keith is passing through his system, dark clad and steaming with resolve. A man who knows himself, truly. Who did the hard parts of personal growth while Lance was still pretending to be happy. Keith was forged in fire and suffering, but Lance’s suffering had only gained him grief.

And Keith answers when he calls. Lance’s heart pulses, aches more than just for his face. But for his life. He finds himself insurmountably jealous of Keith. And he finds himself utterly foolish for ever trying to hold him back. When he left Voltron, and when he came back. Everything in between. Keith made hard decisions, took impossibly dangerous leaps of faith, put everyone he loved at risk and thrust his own life into god’s hands like some fucked up sort of yo-yo.

Lance answers the doorbell when it rings. And he’s there. He could scream until his face went numb, drown himself alone in the dark, run to the tethered edges of the known universe - but he would never escape Keith. The bond their lions shared, neither pilot would ever be untangled. A sore mess, flashes of red, black and blue. He sees the lion for a moment, flashing in the back of his mind’s eye. Keith became the most formidable leader he’d ever known.

And they take vacations down to sample that countryside living, sure. When it suits them. But Lance and Keith, neck and neck, could never have been normal.

And they could never have been apart.

So much big brother proud moments

Someone said that him goind around the maze pretty fast to avoid forgetting to find ying, solar and duri, is him being worried for his two youngest siblings

And i find that ultimately adorable especially how he just joins those two's shenanigans

If its was more on septuplets, then showing him being that big brother to his siblings throughout the whole show

How he's their idol (angin trying to be like petir) on how they trust him (tanah and the rest) on how they find him a comfort space

Cuz like he is pretty supportive if you just dont annoy him. And he seems to be a worrywart too

Then that would hit pretty hard in gurlatan especially when he says "help"
