Question for Gallifrey Fans- we see little bits and glimpses at different parts of Gallifrey in Classic and New Who but there’s always room for interpretation that some things might’ve been rebuilt and there’s lots of parts we don’t see, such as regular city environments.

How do you imagine Gallifrey in your head?

Is it like a space Manhattan? Space London? Is it like the cities in Star Wars such as Coruscant? Do they have cafes and clothing stores and what do those look like? I’d love to know

A Desperate, Deep Sort of Longing.

Romana/Leela (Gallifrey, Big Finish Audio.) (475 Words.) (AO3 Mirror.)

Romana's daydreaming about Leela has been getting more intense. And no matter how hard she tries to shake the feeling off, she can't help but let her thoughts wander there when she lies down at the end of the day.

(A/N: Short little drabble to kick off this blog. :D)

 Romana was bored. There was no way to dress it up. No way to make the emotion fancy, or meaningful. She was simply bored. Lonely, perhaps. Days seemed to flow together, turning into weeks. Or was it weeks flowing into months? She couldn’t be sure. Of course these moments were rare. The times when nothing too disastrous was happening, and all there was left to do was monotonous daily tasks. She should be thankful, she told herself. Thankful that she had a moments peace, and the world wasn't on the brink of ending. But nonetheless, she sits in her all too clean quarters in something between a daydream and sleep.

  If Leela were here, she thought, she would be saying something about how it makes no sense to keep a room so organized and clean to the point where simply living in it would mess it up again. The thought made Romana smile. It was difficult for her to think about Leela without smiling. 

   As improper as it may be, she couldn’t quite help herself from letting her thoughts wander further. Leela seemed to take up most of her more carnal fantasies lately. Even if she wouldn’t admit it with a knife to her throat. She had toyed with the idea of acting on them before. Usually while she laid in bed, still coming down from whatever it was she had decided to do to herself for the night. But how could she act on them? And risk not only being turned down, but a scandal that would be all too difficult to simply sweep under the rug.

   But would that be so bad?... Perhaps it was worth it, if only to have a moments reprieve from the strange brand of torture she was putting herself through. Maybe she was overthinking it. Maybe Leela even felt the same way. It was a desperate, deep sort of longing. The type of longing that she herself wasn't even sure how to categorize.

  The first time she found herself thinking about Leela, she assured herself it was purely a physical attraction. They were friends, after all. It wasn't completely out of the ordinary to think about a friend in that way once or twice. But as these fantasies continued, they got less and less physical and more and more emotional. Romana found herself thinking of what it would be like to do absolutely mundane and domestic things with Leela. Something as simple as lying down with her after a long day. It was getting harder for Romana to tell herself that these feelings were purely platonic. 

  Like most nights, this train of thought dissipates as Romana falls a bit deeper into sleep. Wrapped up in the sheets of the all too clean room. To the sound of complete silence, broken only by the sound of her own breathing.
