against the storm is a good game bc it knows that lizards are inherently good bakers bc Bakery is Warm and they love that and no other game has so thoroughly convinced me of this so gold star

Got my hands on BG3
This is Raus, a disaster durge chaotic gaydad necromancer
(he's my favorite bbeg from the ongoing dnd campaign I'm DMing)
Of course he doesn't look exactly like that in the campaign, but that's close enough! And boy am I happy to be able to play as gith.

something i keep thinking about as i replay dark souls 1 in ng+ is how at any given point in a soulsborne game I'm going "wow i hate this area, i can't believe they put in such and such an enemy, ridiculous, What Do You Mean I Have To Climb Out Of Blightown" and I'm just low key annoyed all the time, BUT the overall lasting impression i come away with is generally "that place was super cool! i can't wait to go back someday". i really love how that is the typical from soft experience for me
dark souls 1 probably has this the most which is why it remains the best of the games for me
(castle sol is a glaring exception to this. seriously fuck that place)

Examples of what I mean (in order):
1) Metal Gear Solid series
/
2) Call of Duty series. You’re taught something like reloading or switching guns in the form of a shooting range. The controls aren’t actually said by the characters, but you understand that in order to switch your gun, you need to press a certain button.
Legend of Zelda series would be another good example.
I guess Ace Attorney works too as an example, but AA isn’t the greatest use of this style since it led to some funky storytelling (Phoenix literally gets amnesia, Phoenix and Mia not knowing what cross-examinations are)
/
3) Mario Party series right before a minigame / Danganronpa right before the trial begins / I think most strategy games, like the Civilization games, do this
/
4) Lots of older games, like Pac-Man and the early Mario games

I want to play the Sims 4 so badly and make myself and my brothers but I'm so uncomfortable with the idea of making myself as a human I can't put it into words
