🔥I would love to hear your thoughts on the girls in Yugioh

I like em a lot but I wish they got to actually Do Things (especially in Zexal, they had so many cool girls and they hardly got to do anything)

I LOVE YOU YUGIOH GIRLSSSS

🔥 kind of insane that "the yugioh girls are good characters and deserve just as much respect as the male characters do" is a bit of an unpopular take but some anime fans are stuck in 2005 livejournal mindsets and do still act like girls in yugioh existing are the most heinous crime against yaoi possible. COULDNT BE ME!!! yugioh girls get behind me i love you I WILL PROTECT YOU!!!

theyre such a weird case a lot of the time too, though, because with the way yugioh works we equate "doing big, heroic moments" with dueling, because...well. This is the Card Game Dueling Monsters show. and the girls really indeed Do Not Get to Duel A Lot (let alone Win a lot) so in that department especially YEAH THEY REALLY DONT GET TO DO MUCH. And you get instances like poor fucking Rio Kastle, who's fridged for half of Zexal in the hospital, and Akiza JUST NOT GETTING TO TURBO DUEL EXCEPT LIKE TWO TIMES, MAYBE. GOD. But something I've noticed alongside that is because dueling = The benchmark for doing big plot actions, when the girls Do get to do some pretty cool stuff that isnt a duel, it doesn't really get dwelled on or talked about too much in fan spaces, and it's a shame!

I will never stop proclaiming that the DM anime was so real and right for making Serenity Wheeler the one to dive into the ocean to save her brother after the pier duel, it's one of my favorite scenes in all of Duel Monsters. SO much bravery and determination in that action. HER EYES WERE STILL HEALING AND SHE DID ALL THAT STILL!!! WAHHH. and god Tori, Tori Kotori Zexal my daughter MY BABY, everyone wants to be like "ohh she doesnt do anything shes annoying" MISS ME WITH THAT!! It sucks that she doesnt duel, yeah, but she does SO FUCKING MUCH over the course of Zexal. She piloted a spaceship out of a black hole. She followed Shark and Kite to go save Hart and Yuma and she was BEATING THOSE LITTER BOTS TO DEATH to save her friends!! She's by Yuma's side for all the incredible bullshit he has to deal with and without her I think he would have just completely fallen apart. She's so tenacious and loyal and fearless when it counts the most and it's such a bummer there's, like, no Tori meta.

I guess that all isnt too much of a hot unpopular take is it??! hrm. I guess it boils down to "some people have equated "not dueling" with "annoying and bad character" re: the girls of yugioh, which imo is a kneejerk borderline-to-genuinelly-misogynist reaction manifesting over what's really a bad writing choice completely out of the characters' hands" and you should really give yourself a chance to take a look at Everything the girls actually did get to contribute to the plot, because you can really find some great character insight and actually pretty important to the plot gestures in there. tl;dr 🔥 if you think ygo girls are annoying im turning you into a golf ball and putting you into a sand pit.

Day 4: Gorgon

CW: Mentions of someone being blinded and brief suicidal thoughts

Felix woke to hearing distant shouts, the kind that usually meant arrogant heroes or angry villagers, neither of which meant good things for his peaceful existence. He sighed, the sound coming out more of a hiss as he stretched to get ready to meet whatever fate had decreed he meet today.

He left his cavern warily, listening and watching for any archers or warriors lying in wait. Seeing and sensing none, he continued on until he reached the only clearing between the village and the forest that led to his cave. He paused, trying to figure out what he was looking at.

A girl was tied to a pole that looked like it had been hurriedly installed in the ground, her eyes bound in red fabric. She wore a thin slip that was filthy from presumably being dragged through the forest, with tiny cuts and bruises all over what skin he could see. Still, she held a proud posture, her head angled towards him as he got closer.

“Are they giving away girlssss now?” He asked, watching as her head turned quickly in his direction.

“Not girls in general, just me.” Her response was level. Not terrified, not pleading, just… calm. Very odd.

“And why have you been given to me?”

“They want you to kill me.”

“Oh?” He crouched next to her and hooked a finger under her blindfold. “Were they aware that thissss may have protected you?”

She jerked her head up so the blindfold fell, revealing two milky eyes that saw nothing. “Yes, they were aware. That is why they blinded me.”

It was all he could do not to recoil. Her fellow humans had done this to her and then sacrificed her to him? Though he was considered a monster by most people, being a Gorgon, even he would not stoop to this level of cruelty.

She seemed annoyed by his silence, turning those eyes on him as if she could see him. “Well? Are you going to kill me or not?”

“I have not decided yet, but you are not helping your case.”

“Take your time,” she said sarcastically, making Felix’s eye twitch in annoyance.

He continued to crouch over her, thinking over his options. He couldn’t turn her to stone, obviously, but he could kill her. Quickly, with a slash to the throat and her life would be over before she knew it. It would be humane, really.

But there was something about this girl. Here she was, faced with imminent death by the claws of one of the most feared monsters in the land and she had the nerve to sass him. She had a fight in her that told him that she would have had a long, successful life had this not happened to her.

He was taken out of his thoughts by a hand touching the top of his head, petting some of the snakes’ scales. He jerked away from her touch, hissing out of habit.

“What are you doing?”

She shrugged. “If I am to die anyway, then I was curious to know what your head snakes felt like. Besides, they do not seem too opposed.”

It was true, he had to admit. Instead of biting like he had expected, they leaned towards her touch, hissing in a gentle way that had no malice behind it.

“Just- do not do that again. That is a good way to get a bite.”

“What do I care? I am about to meet Death anyway.”

“No, you will not,” he said, making his decision. With one claw, he slashed through her bindings. She tried to stand, but collapsed on unsteady legs. He rolled his eyes and helped her up, leading her back to his cave before depositing her on one of the flat rocks.

“Why are you helping me? Why not just kill me and be done with it?”

I wish I knew. “You will inform me of humansssss’ weaknessesssss and in return, I will allow you to live.”

She scoffed. “Their weaknesses are right above their neck. For you, that means their eyes, for me that means their brains, or lack thereof.”

He sneered at her, even though he knew she wouldn’t see it. “Try not to be that obvious.”

She got up suddenly, stumbling around until she found the cavern entrance. For some reason, that panicked him and he leapt up, grabbing her before she could topple over.

“What are you doing, you sssstupid girl!”

The panic increased when he saw she was crying, fat tears rolling down her cheeks onto his chest as she weakly smacked at him to let her go.

“Just let me die. Please?”

“What happened?” He was not in the habit of playing therapist to humans, but something in him told him that this was the right move. She went limp in his arms, sobbing against him while he awkwardly held her.

He hadn’t been this close to another living creature that wasn’t trying to kill him in ages.

She finally subsided and he moved them to sit down, with her leaning against him. “My village was in the middle of a famine,” she began, her voice breaking. “I prayed to all the gods to help. I asked for anything that could help. One of the gods blessed me and I found I was able to make plants grow with a single touch.”

“That doesssss not ssssound sssso bad.”

“My village is a superstitious kind, the kind that does not believe in miracles or gifts. They’re odd, outliers in the community. One of them saw me at night wandering the fields, bringing our crops back to life. And then….” she trailed off. She didn’t need to continue, Felix already knew the rest. “I just wanted to help.”

“You cannot fix what doessss not want to be fixed.”

She sat in silence for a moment, seemingly thinking over what he’d said. “Hey, can I stay here?”

Felix instantly straightened, stunned. Stay? With him?

“Sssstay? Here? With me?”

“Yes. You seem like a good person. Or Gorgon? Whichever you would prefer, really.” He could see the hope on her face and suddenly every trace of resistance left him and he, the fearsome monster, found himself caving to a fragile human.

“Fine. You may ssstay. But what issss your name?”

“Marinette! Yours?”

“I am Felix. Welcome to the cave, Marinette.”

so funny story, i thought i was doing so badly on my trip, and i thought for sure i was gaining, and felt like such a bloated piece of shit. but then i weighed myself yesterday and came in at 148! so i’ve lost 5 pounds AND i’m on my period for the first time in 4-1/2 years (since i got pregnant with my now almost 4yr old) because i stopped my birth control because it was making me SOOOO nauseous + giving me migraines. girlssss (and guys) i’m getting there! anddddd i have a teeny tiny thigh gap! first time in like 3-1/2/4yrs!

AHHH I WAS WAITING FOR IT ! i, yesss, have heard all of them and i got to know that lapillus has a member which is from Philippines/Argentina? I GOT EXCITED! NGL! this girl called Maria Chantal Videla (or chanty, her stage name) is fire fr, but anyways, gonna talk about the recent comebacks under the cut so the dash isnt full of my babbling

i will start with LOONA since i'm an orbit AND I WAS SO EXCITED to listen and see my 12 cutie girls doing a summer concept (which is a concept i adore, i was a sistar stan pls), but i felt that BBC tried to do something that mixes elegant concept with summery tones and not the other way around and I don't know if this was a shot in the foot or not, i got this impression especially because of the white tulle clothes when they are in the train in the beginning of the MV, yk? besides that, I felt that choerry got SO little screen time? i don't know if theres any orbit out there thinking this too, but i can't stop thinking about it every time i see the MV, which by the way is too beautiful! other than that, i'm truly happy to see yeojin & haseul with a bit more lines, although gowon and vivi are still… anyway…

now about kepler girlssss, i must admit that i was expecting a COMPLETELY different song because i was basing it on the teasers, yk? and i still have such a mixed feeling about it, but hikaru and dayeon/xiaoting's lines HAVE MY HEART ALL OVER! i loved hikaru's hair and i also thought the blonde bahiyyih LOOKED GREAT, AMAZINGGG. but, anyway, i felt that wake one kind of told kepgirls in this comeback: "you'll have the budget of a soda for the MV, so work your magic" WAKE ONE IS NOT IN BANKRUPTCY AND STILL WON'T GIVE THEM A WELL WORKED MV 😭😭

You and Loki made your way towards the bar that was opposite the venue The Devils Angels had just performed at. Loki had settled on a black vest as opposed to any of the leather garments he had to choose from. From outside you could see that it wasn’t simply just a bar, there was more loud music followed by a long queue that lead almost to the bottom of the road. You were almost certain you weren’t going to get in until the security guard exchanged a glance with Loki before stepping aside, letting you both in, reminding you that Loki was in fact a celebrity. Loki guided you inside with a hand on your lower back as he followed along. As soon as you walked in, eyes were on the pair of you. The sound of music pumping through the speakers rattled through you whilst Loki continued his guiding. The both of you approached a VIP looking area with security who once again stepped aside allowing you both in.

“Shot, shot, shot” you heard Nat chanting along with the rest of the band who were watching the brunette, drummer one downing shots. Slamming the glass on the table, he high-fived Steve before looking at you and Loki.

“Oh hey, it’s Loki and his laydayyy” he grinned.

“Oh look, it’s Bucky besotted” Loki quipped, earning chuckles from everyone as he gestured for you to sit down. “This is y/n, y/n this is Bucky our drummer, Thor who plays bass and Steve you already know.”

You smiled at them all with a small wave before sitting down.

“Hi y/n” Bucky smiled, giving you a wink “do you want a drink?” Before you had time to even answer, Bucky was requesting shots from one of the waitresses who seemed to only serve the VIP area you were in. “You want shots right” Bucky nodded as he looked back towards you.

“Yes!” Nat spoke for you.

“Get the girlssss some shotsssss!” Bucky cheered.

Waiting for those, you properly looked at everyone. Bucky had hair just past his eyebrows as well as tattoos and a nose ring. He looked like a true rockstar. Thors hair was a dirty blonde, reaching his shoulders. He had two plaits in his hair, moving it out of his face, connecting at the back. He smiled when your eyes met, blue staring into yours. Steve had shorter, lighter blonde hair and seemed to only be focused on Natasha as they spoke with one another over the music. Looking at Loki, he seemed to be in his own world, people watching too as he sat with his legs splayed, one arm on the back of the booth chair, head moving to the beat of the music. You bit your tongue when your eyes met, you had been caught staring. He raised the arm that was on the chair, giving you a small finger wave as well as a smirk. You smiled and looked down before the lady returned with a tray of shots.

Everyone reached for one, so did you. Everyone brought the small glass to their lips, so did you. Everyone downed their shot, so did you. Everyone reached for another, you did not.

“Wait, wait, wait, wait, waittt” Bucky interrupted “y/n, doesn’t have a shot” he smiled, looking into your eyes as he leant slightly closer to you “what’s the matter, don’t want another shot?” He teased, running his tongue over his bottom lip after he spoke. In all honesty, you would have taken another shot hadn’t the first one burnt your throat.

You shook your head no, pointing to your throat.

“Good idea!” Bucky exclaimed, standing up and walking towards you. Leaning down, he licked a stripe from your neck to the back of your ear earning a glare from Loki who pulled Bucky backwards. “Oh, I forgot the salt, sorry” Bucky laughed, putting his hands up as Loki lead him back to his seat.

“Bucky, do control yourself” Loki scolded.

“Believe me I am” he snorted “sorry y/n if I’ve crossed a line, I’m a douchebag most days, forgive me?” He pouted.

“I’m fine” you assured everyone before picking up a shot and downing it.

“That’s my girl” Bucky praised earning an eye roll from Loki before he resumed his people watching. Some of the night passed like that. The girl bringing you all shots whilst the crowd grew livelier and livelier. Steve and Nat grew closer and closer as they took more shots. You, Thor and Bucky spoke with one another as you switched from shots to a pornstar martini.

“Brother, are you alright?” Thor asked Loki who was still in his own world.

“Brother?” You gasped, chocking on your drink.

“Adopted” Loki cut in, looking at you and trying to stifle his smile as you sighed at the spilt drink on your top. “And yes, I’m fine.”

The boys resumed their drinking games whilst you stood up, making your way to Loki after dabbing at the stain on your top profusely.

“Can I sit here?” You asked, gesturing to the space next to him.

“I haven’t denied you all night, I won’t start now, be my guest” he nodded. You opened your mouth to speak before you were interrupted by the bouncer letting in Tony Stark who had two gorgeous blondes on his arms.

“The party doesn’t start until Stark walks in” he spoke matter of factly “sit down, yeah there’s great” he said to the girls before reaching into his pocket and pulling out a small bag and resting it on the table “I even brought a gift”

“Stark, you’re a lifesaver” Bucky said, picking up the bag before bringing it to his lips and kissing it. Your eyes widened as you realised what it was. Quickly, you grabbed the bag from his hands. “Y/n?”

“You—you can’t be seen with this” you explained, hiding it under your top.

“Are you going to make me come get that from you” he spoke seductively, wriggling his eyebrows.

“Bucky!” Loki huffed.

“Look y/n, we’re rockstars dude, I do my best drumming after I’ve” he paused, tapping his nose. You looked around seeing Stark, Steve and Thor all nodding, waiting for you to hand over the bag but you couldn’t, what if paparazzi were around? What if people saw them? You couldn’t give them the ba—

“Got it!” Natasha rallied.

You tried to grab the bag from her as she threw it to Thor. You quickly made your way to him before he threw it to Steve. Steve threw it to Bucky and suddenly you were part of this torturous game of don’t give y/n the bag of coke. When it reached Loki, you gave him a warning look as he opened the bag.

“Loki” you said ominously as he dipped his index finger inside. “Loki” you repeated as he smiled widely at you before his finger made contact with his gums. It was wrong, it was, but you couldn’t deny how sexy he looked as he disobeyed your tone. He wasn’t yours to order, yours to warn but him being so blatantly defiant struck something in you, something feral, something daring. You stepped towards Loki, looking him square in the eyes as you leant down, dipping your finger in the bag and repeating his actions. You winked at him before you sat back down. Your eyes barely left each other’s, waiting to see who would crack first in the minutes that Stark cut lines.

“Bon appétit” Stark declared after rolling up a bill and using it to snort a line.

You were certain that the drugs had no affect. You felt fine. Loki looked fine. The rest of the group faded out whilst you and Loki continued the staring match. You didn’t worry about Nats safety when taking anything, you were roommates in college and now housemates, you knew for certain she could handle herself, you just kept your gaze trained on Loki. Your gums as well as your lip began to feel slightly numb but you didn’t care, your attention was captured by the song that had just started playing.

“Marky got with Sharon and Sharon got Cherise she was sharing Sharon’s outlook on the topic of disease” you sang along to the Butthole Surfers song. Whilst Lokis expression remained stoic. You carried on singing, daring him to crack and he finally did once the chorus came.

“I DONT MIND THE SUN SOMETIMES, THE IMAGES IT SHOWS” he belted, standing up.

“I CAN TASTE YOU ON MY LIPS AND SMELL YOU IN MY CLOTHES” you continued, standing up too.

Before you knew it, you were both on the dance floor, singing along together, facing one another as you both moved to the rhythm. The rest of the world was nonexistent as the song played, you and Loki dancing. By the time the second chorus started, Lokis lips were on your neck, as your head fell backwards, revelling in the sensation. When the infamous guitar riff began, you felt his lips on yours, claiming them in a fierce, passionate kiss that brought feeling back to your lips. When you broke apart, your eyes opened and the rest of the world returned. You smiled lazily at Nat who was dancing with Steve. Bucky was head banging the air and Thor was with a lady. Stark was still with the blondes and life felt euphoric. You looked back at Loki, hands ruffling through his hair as you gave him an enticing expression. You would have probably kissed him again if not for Bucky yelling “SHOTS!”

You all sat down, resuming your drinking as you leant down, inhaling some of the white powder before Loki did. The rest of the night passed in an intoxicated, fun blur before you insisted on calling it a night the more touchy and flirty you and Loki got. A few girls that you knew entered and greeted you and Nat, probably wanting to enter the VIP area which Stark allowed. You announced that you were heading home but Nat pleaded to stay. Steve ensured that he would look after her as well as the other friends who were now sitting with you. Loki insisted that he made sure you got home safe which was the perfect opportunity for you to invite him inside. Tonight was surely going to end with a bang.

1. How apart are the 4 kids in age? I mean twins not aprt but they are aprt by minutes right?😂

2. Do they attend private school or public school?

5. Are they planned(I like to think they are unplanned😂)?

6. What's E and L's reaction when they find out they r having twins

1. How apart are the 4 kids in age? I mean twins not aprt but they are aprt by minutes right?😂

Jonah and Dolores are 2.5 years apart. Dolores and the twins are 3 years apart. So Jonah is almost 6 when the twins are born, Dolores is 3. Violet was born first so that makes Jasmine the youngest.

The twins were born 27 minutes apart.

2. Do they attend private school or public school?

Hmm. I can see Ethan and Lilac placing value in the public education system while also wanting the educational experience from private school. I'd say they enroll them in public elementary and middle school. When it's time to move on to high school, the kid decides if they want to go on to a public high school or a private. I can see Violet and Jonah choosing private solely for the STEM programs offered there.

3. God parents?

Jonah: Sienna and Naveen

Dolores: Bryce and Jackie

Violet: Rafael and Kyra

Jasmine: Aurora and Elijah

4. Who are they closest to in the gang?

They adore Uncle Bryce and Aunt Sienna with all their hearts. Bryce is the cool, fun uncle and Sienna spoils them with treats. Individually, I see Dolores really jiving with her godmother, Jackie. Jonah with Bryce (as he eventually aspires to be a surgeon). Violet with Elijah and Aurora. Jasmine with Sienna!

5. Are they planned(I like to think they are unplanned😂)?

Jonah was 100% unplanned but never unwelcomed. Dolores was a bit more planned, though they were still surprised she got pregnant so soon after trying. And the twins... lol. They only wanted one more and got two so.. half and half?

6. What's E and L's reaction when they find out they r having twins

They are stunned. Lilac cries tears of joy (and a bit of anxiety lol). Ethan holds his wife's hand and mentally kisses the little amount of sleep he gets goodbye. They're both a little bit terrified because caring for one baby at a time was so difficult.... Now two? Little do they know, their friends and family are all in to help them out in anyway they can.

7. E and L's reaction them being twin girlssss😍😍?

Overjoyed. Neither of them could have imagined it that way. Lilac teases Ethan about having to deal with four Allende sassy girls. "You know what? Throw in Jonah too because that boy's sarcasm is unmatched."

8. Does any of them have blue eyes? It would be nice to have one of them with ethan's blue eyes instead of hazel🥺

Lilac has green eyes and Ethan has blue, both recessive genes. I picture both Jonah and Dolores to have hazel eyes. The twins are the ones who inherited his blue eyes.

9. What are their nick names?!

Jonah: His sisters call him J. His mother's side of the family often calls him "Jo". Alan calls him "little Ethan" affectionately because of how much he looks like his father. When he was a baby, his mother called him "bunny" because of the cute little way he scrunched up his nose.

Dolores: As a child, she was called "Lolly" by the family. Her father calls her "Captain" or "Cap" because she calls the shots in the house and in his heart. Her mother's side of the family jokingly calls her "Alivios" (which means "relief" in Spanish because "Dolores" means "pains"). Later, when she grows older, she decides to go by "Lori"

Violet: She goes by "V" or "Vi". When she was a baby, her mother called her "tater". Bryce called her "Thing 1"

Jasmine: "Jazzy" by the family. As a baby, her mom called her "tot". Bryce called her "Thing 2"

Both twins are affectionately called "florecitas" ("little flowers") by the Allende family side.

All children are referred to by their mother and her side of the family as "mijo/mija" and variants of "mi vida", "mi cielo", "corazon"

10. Out of four who is most similar lilac and who is most similar to ethan?

Ah! They're all a mix!

Jonah is similar to Ethan in looks. Dolores is similar to him in personality.

Dolores is similar to Lilac in looks. Violet and Jasmine are very similar to her in personality.

11. Are they close to alan or lilac's side of the family?

They're close to both! They love Grandpa Alan and Abuelitos Allende! All three grandparents spoil them so the kids live for it lol.

12. How many languages do they speak? I like to think at first 2 english and spanish and they learn some more as they grow

Ethan and Lilac are passionate about teaching them both English and Spanish, especially during their formative years. Ethan makes a point to use his Spanish around the house and to address his children. As the children grow up, they are fluent in Spanish in various degrees. Some can speak it better than others, they can all understand it, read it, but not write it.

13. Who is the laziest child and sassiest child? I loveee kids with sass😂

That would be Jasmine, without a doubt. Though, for sass, Dolores gives her a run for her money. Poor Ethan and Lilac when they have to deal with an argument between those two.

she was born in eire, pennsylvania, and lived her whole life there. her mother is originally from sulani, but due to work issues, shortly before her birth, she and her father moved to america. she was never on her mother’s original island before she was 16. attended law school, like his father, but left after a few semesters because, in her opinion, that was not her way. then moved to sulani, deciding to take charge of his life without his parents' shadow. enrolled in biology at the university of the city. If someone should not find malie graham in her house at night, don’t worry! it’s normal. she always knows when the sun comes up, any time of year. every night, she sneaks away, tucked away in a hoodie, and goes to her favorite place. a bridge. banal, no? well, from there, the sunrise is great! many times, i assure you, they asked her why of those trips, trying to extrapolate some more detailed information also because you know, the silence, is mystery, and in a small town like that, the mystery is novelty! she works at a small kiosk on the beach every day. she wants to pay for her own car gas and, in the future, college tuition. she’s always been a girl with a head on her shoulders. at the kiosk is often seen to entertain with boys and girls of her age, talking about the more and less. is always cheerful, that’s what they say about her, and we still wonder how such a thing is possible. believe me, it is not always so! you can see the difference on a rainy day!
