“can’t sleep?” the toss and turning of your figure in the bed—quite frustrated in motion even—accompanied with the occasional groans gave him the idea that you weren’t asleep, or couldn’t sleep at all. a simple nod coming from you was all he needed before his mind started constructing ideas on what he can do to accompany you on yet another night like this.

he’s not new to it, certainly. after all, before you were lovers, you two were friends and he wasn’t a stranger to this problem of yours. however, when he was first introduced to it, he didn’t know what to do and what he could do to help you. he just let you talk about your experience with this conundrum, listening and silently noting the fact in his mind.

and before he knew it, he started to come up with plans for the night in case you have trouble falling asleep once again. it all just felt natural to him, he started buying items that he thinks could aid you even if it’s just for a bit—tea that has sleep benefits, any book that he comes across that he thinks you could use, a board or card game that you two can play. although god forbids that the game being played would end up in a friendly match. with his somewhat of a competitive and taunting personality, the small match becomes a tournament between you and him.

it either ends up with you becoming sleepy and him having to carry you to bed as you doze in his arms or staying up all night ‘til the rise of the sun as you try to beat each other into defeat.

although he doesn’t want to admit to you that he’s really looking out for you. he doesn’t want to say that just the simple mention of sleep and anything to related to that would have his mind drifting to the thought of you, it’s like you and sleep itself is just associated with one another–despite the fact that you lack of it. and in all honesty, isn’t this what you’re supposed to do to your cherished ones?

and when you two had established a romantic relationship with one another, the things he would do for you soon became more intimate and affectionate. accompanying and talking while sitting across each other soon became cuddling sessions in bed—he occasionally plays with your hair or provides soothing touches on your skin—, massages from him are being offered to help you relax, and you try things together often.

he becomes quite strict on things related to your well-being, as health and sleep are correlated to one another. such as coffee being forbidden especially when it’s being taken during the night or having naps during the day limited so that you won’t be awake the whole time later on.

“sleep is essential.” he tells you rather flatly as if it’s not something that you don’t know, his fingers combing through your hair and massaging your scalp in the process. you don’t know what time it is right now, perhaps sometime around dawn as the night looks darker and quieter with only the rustling of leaves outside the window being heard.

“but you don’t sleep?” you answered, words close to a mutter as you slowly eased into his hold and kind caress, the gentle rhythm of his breathing and his voice served as a lullaby. “i do not need it.” his answer elicits a confused reaction from you, eyebrows drawn into one as you look up to meet his gaze, eyes that were often in a glare are warm and soft.

you asked him, “why?” in which he responds, benignly, “i’m a puppet, have you forgotten about that?”

he bought you a stuffed toy—one that resembles him in some manner with its grumpy expression and a small hat on top of its head, donning colors that are similar to his. it wouldn’t be surprising if you were the one who got it for yourself but the fact that he went out his way to get a cotton figure (of him) definitely astonished you to the core.

it doesn’t matter if you have asked him for help about it or not, he only wishes you to know that he is there for you. his affection for you goes past the line of simply just admiring you and memorizing every line of your face, he cares for you more than you know and more than what he makes you realize.

The team noticed that something about Hotch has changed and they noticed it sooner then later.

He leaves the work earlier (still very late, but at least a bit earlier). He looks more relaxed, no tensed shoulders in sight anymore and more importantly, he looks so so happy.

So it's honestly no surprise, that the team guesses the obvious and makes Aaron invite you for a dinner night at Rossi's.

So he does, which leads you to stepping in front of Dave's door nervously as you wait for him to open the door. You are dressed in very radiant colours, that are in big contrast with Aaron's black suit, even if you've tried your best to match with him tonight.

"It's okay, they're going to love you," Aaron reassures you, when he notices your nerves. He squeezes your hand that's in his in reassurance and gives it a quick kiss.

And right as he does that, the door opens revealing Dave there.

"Hi," you immediately greet him, your nervousness not preventing you from smiling at him.

"Hey you two, we were wondering,  when would you finally show up," he teases you for coming late. It's your fault you guys came late, because you couldn't decide what to wear, you wanted to make a good first impression and Aaron sweet as always gave you all the time you needed.

"Come on in, don't want you guys to freeze to death out here," Dave ushers you inside before you can even introduce yourself to him.

But that thought is gone the minute you take a step inside, because suddenly there's people introducing themselves to you from every direction.

Even if it's a lot to take it, your smile never drops as you greet everybody.

"Oh," you say after you've been introduced, "I forgot something in the car, I'll be right back." And just like that you are out of there, but the happy mood, that you've brought with you, lingers in the room even without you.

All eyes move from you to Aaron and he raises his brows in question at it, "what?" He asks, almost annoyed.

"Hotch, where have you found her? She's like a literal ray of sunshine-" Penelope starts.

"Or more like how did you manage to make her go on a date with you?" Derek pokes fun at him, but to be honest, everybody has the same questionon mind.

"Well, she was the one to ask me on a date and I couldn't no, even if I wanted to, which I didn't," Aaron replies, like it's no big deal.

"What? She asked your grumpy ass out?" Derek's eyes go wide. He would have never guessed that you, the sweetest person he's just met, asked Hotch out. Aaron just glares at him, but doesn't manage to respond, because you are back.

"I've brought you guys this," you pull a big box filled with all different kind of cookies out of the bag. The team quickly notices, that in the box are everybody's favourite cookies.

And if they thought they liked you before, now, they adore you like three times more.

"Wait, are those-"

"Yes, I hope, I did them right. I had to use some online recipes, so I'm not sure they'll taste good-" you start rambling, cheeks going a little red. You've asked Aaron shyly about team's favourite cookies the minute he invited you to this dinner.

"Are you kidding? These are great, can you come to dinner every time from now on? Oh my gosh," Penelope squeals and she grabs your arm with a 'come on, we've got a lot to talk about' and drags you towards the other girls.

You chat happily with them the whole evening, while Aaron looks lovesick at you the whole time and every now and then you look at him and grin big at him. Clearly enjoying yourself and seeing you this content with his closest friends, basically his family, makes Aaron's heart go crazy.

"She's very lovely, Aaron. I'm so happy for you guys. You deserve this, " Dave whispers to him, sometime during the dinner, " it's clear that she makes you happy. Try not to mess it up."

"I won't," he replies with a certainty, Aaron will try to do everything he can to make this work, because he doesn't think he can remember being this happy ever. And he doesn't think he would ever feel happiness again if you and him didn't work out. You are it for him, he knows that.

"Good. " Dave pats him on the back.

You two are the first ones to leave, because you are tying to make sure Aaron sleeps properly. And when the team hears this explanation from you, they almost melt from the cuteness of you two.

And when they see the smile painting Aaron's face as he leads you towards the car, they know Aaron is a goner for you, which they can't blame him for.

The way you met Mikey was nothing short of a simple way. All you wanted after some extremely stress inducing stress was a little treat for yourself, luckily there was a small convenience store only a short distance from your school, you had taken notice of two people that would regularly come into the shop, buying the same items every time, three small packets of dorayaki.

Walking towards the convivence store you noticed the two regular shoppers standing close to the doorway arguing with each other, the smaller one pouting his cheeks puffed up while his eyes had an annoyed look while the taller one scolded him for being so careless with his own money. "Ken-Chin, just this one time, I already told you I'd pay you back!" the smaller one said making the taller one roll his eyes "Mikey, we both know your just saying that I'm not buying anything for you." Hearing the both of them argue was something from a comedy show, as funny as it was. You couldn't help but feel a bit bad for the smaller one, who you now knew by Mikey. "U-um excuse me. I... I um heard a tiny bit of your conversation and I... I'll happily pay for the snack you, um w-want." This seemed to seal the deal between Mikey liking you, he immediately took you up on the offer and even took the time to become good friends with you, the friendship blossoming into a relationship between you and Mikey.

Mikey kept it no secret from you that he was a leader of a gang and often told you all of the wild stories he had, most of them being about how badass everyone was and how they were the scariest gang in all of Tokyo, Japan. So when Mikey mentioned wanting to take you into a meeting with everyone so you could meet them, saying you had become anxious was an understatement. You knew Mikey would never put you in direct harm, he loved dearly. The part that scared you was meeting all these important people in Mikey's life, you've already met Draken and have become a good friend in his eye's but everyone else was another face you would have to try and impress for Mikey's sake.

Mikey had you stand between him and Draken during the meeting, listening to everyone ask who you were, all their eyes matching the way you'd move around uncomfortably, before your brain could scare you anymore Draken called out for everyone's attention before letting Mikey continue. "The person you see standing next to me is my partner in crime!" even in front of his own gang members, he'd still make jokes. Mikey stepped back as a way for you to introduce yourself. All you could notice was how quiet everyone suddenly was making you more nervous. Taking a deep breath, you stepped closer to everyone, "H... hello, I'm..." in just the two seconds it took you to get the hello, out you forgot what to say next. A few muffled laughs had your face red with embarrassment, fortunately Draken had everyone quiet with a threaten they knew would happen if not. "I'm Y/N, Mikey's...um, girlfriend." Introducing yourself as his girlfriend still came as a shock to you and everyone else, before anything else could be said multiple cheers, clapping and even laughs could be heard for probably miles.

After finally getting through introducing yourself a handful of men came up towards you and mikey. The first one to speak was a boy with lilac hair introduced himself as Mitsuya, The second division captain. The second people you met were introduced as angry and smiley, The 4th Division Captain and Vice-captains. It took you awhile to figure who Nahoya and who Souya was, thankfully the twins found humor is how often you mixed their names up, even making bets on long it'd take you to get their names right. Slowly everyone had warmed up towards you and seemed to be more than comfortable talking to you, most of them not even noticing that you would just nod along and make the usual "Mhm's", "oh, thats interesting" and other small things that would keep you engaged in their stories, towards the end of the night you found yourself able to leave mikey's side and get to "talk" to the other's before eventually finding your way back to mikey's side, ready to head back home and just lay in bed for awhile and mikey had no complaints about the idea.

Your first meeting with childe was a bit of a terrifying experience, traveler offered to spend the day with you to help you feel comfortable in Liyue, traveler forgetting they agreed to have a training session with childe. Not wanting to make them miss something important, you offered to go with them and watch on the side line, not being a fighter yourself. The moment childe saw you, it was already game on, Sure traveler told them you were just a friend but childe wanted you to know he was so cool, a badass, more then just travelers fighting partner.

Childe made sure to ignore traveler once the training session was over, making his way towards you hand extended out to shake yours. "I'm Tartaglia, but you can call me Childe as most do, what's your name sugar?" Every word left your brain when hearing the bold name childe called you. You knew this wouldn't be the first time childe would call you a nickname but it caught you off guard, hearing it say it so casually, seeing as this was the first time you two have met. When your hand connected with childe's he winked at you before kissing the back of it, "A shy thing aren't we?" Childe teased laughing before gently shaking your hand. This was a small start to the friendship you and childe would have before it formed into a relationship.

Childe wrote letter to Teucer, his younger brother, often. He couldn't help but talk about you in every letter he wrote back home, Teucer eventually tired of his older brother talking about you and only ever you, he made the trip down to liyue to visit his older brother and meet the girl his older brother had fallen so head over heels for. Childe told you how much of a handful his younger brother could be and would understand if you may want to skip out upon meeting him, but was assured when you told childe you didn't mind meeting Teucer. The moment teucer saw you and childe waiting for his arrival, he dashed passed his older brother straight up towards you, wasting no time in shaking your hand and introducing yourself leaving you almost no room to get a breath out before childe intervened "Hey, Hey, let's give her some time to introduce herself too now." Childe said holding back laughs from how excited his sibling was.

Your brain seemed almost empty, unable to find any words to try matching or even being able to give teucer any information he'd like to hear about. "He-Hello teucer, um... I'm sure Childe has spoken a lot about me in the letters he sends you." Teucer scoffs at the words a lot, making you worry the meeting is already off to a bad start. "W-well its, uh.... true, i am Childe's Girlfriend. My name is Y/N." Teucer already knew about you being his girlfriend, having slight suspicion his older brother was lying but now knowing it was true, he wasted no time in accepting you into the family. "I'm glad he wasn't lying about having a girlfriend, i was starting to worry i was his only friend." Teucer says making himself loud enough for childe to hear before grabbing onto your hand wanting to explore liyue with you.

The idea of seeing threads came to me after seeing a meme about red threads tying soul mates together. Everything that came after - the other threads, the thread world, how it works, is unique to TRT!

TRT is now longer than War and Peace, and Crime and Punishment combined! So if you've read all of TRT so far, then you have the perfect middle finger to anyone who tries to say you can't focus on longer stories!

The inciting penguin documentary that Foggy drunkenly watched (which led to him declaring Matt and Jane 'penguins') was about Adelie penguins specifically!

Jane has a leather jacket because I love leather jackets and think all badass characters should have a leather jacket! And so you should you! EVERYONE DESERVES A COOL LEATHER JACKET.

The long hiatus between Chapter 4 and Chapter 5 was because I had life things pop up. During that hiatus, I realized the plotline/ending needed some work, so I spent those two years outlining, and I also wound up doing a bunch of additional novel writing classes just because I wanted to learn. A lot of this wound up influencing TRT!

The grey threads are one of the only threads that no one has solved yet!

There are absolutely some bad people working for Cyrus James. There is also a guy named Kyle. He is there not for Evil Purposes (tm) but instead because this was the only place he could work that would allow him to pay off his student loans.

When I started TRT, I thought maybe 5 people total would read it. I was told five people total would read it by some shitty people. So I wrote it expecting five total people would read it, and told myself at least I'd enjoy it, and I could use it to learn. In other words: I had ZERO idea TRT would take off like this. None. Nada. Zip. AND LOOK AT US NOW, BABY. FUCK THE HATERS, 6 YEARS AND GOIN' STRONG.

Based on my outline, we're a bit over halfway to the end!

I hope you enjoyed these TRT funfacts. And I hope you know: this fic isn't just me. It's you, too. This fic has become so much larger than just me. It's the TRT playlist you've sent songs in for that keeps me inspired when writing. It's the fanart I look at to give me a boost. Hi, I have a bunch of random questions about hw! 1) Do they sing the songs their group makes themselves? 2) Do they film their shows in the real world or in the Sekai? Do the virtual singers help them with that? 3) Are their relationships outside of hw more or less the same (e.g. Tsukasa with Toya or Rui with Mizuki)? 4) How likely are they to be recognized even with their masks? 1- everyone except nene does, starting off!! given everything thats gone on with her, pre-main story she still can’t get herself to sing anymore, even for online songs where she isn’t performing in front of an actual in person audience. after main story she gets more resolve, and she does take some time to start singing again, but with her very supportive friends she starts to find her confidence in singing again :) (can i mention how overjoyed rui gets about it. can i mention how much he missed her voice. can i mention how AGAIN he is filled with so much guilt around how the sound of her singing coming from her room was replaced by suffocating silence after what happened. can i mention how genuinely happy for her and proud of her he is, that despite it all, that maybe they really do have a chance here, all together. sorry i’m insane about rui and that doesn’t change here.)

2- i’ve been debating on whether or not they start filming their shows at the closed off wonder stage actually! they do start off filming in sekai at least. i think both areas have their pros and cons, so they might end up alternating. not sure yet.

3- tsukasa and toya’s relationship have stayed the same, and same with saki. tsukasa’s past has actually stayed practically the same in general. i haven’t changed much about his.

mizurui on the other hand. ohohohohohohoho. fun fact i was brainrotting specifically about swap au mizurui a lot a while ago. bc this au co exists with wxs-ified n25. dont look at the old tag i had for them please. i want to fix them cause i have more stuff i want to add and like. do it better. but i haven’t gotten around to it. all you need to know is n25 now does theater shows together instead. yahoo. anyway i think about swap au mizurui a lot. because. augh. their relationship has stayed very similar to canon, being lonely outcasts who found each other on that rooftop, but it makes me ill bc. rui introduces mizuki to theater and shows. he might not do them anymore but he sometimes talks about them with mizuki and mizuki can see the love he had for them and they get curious. and they give it a try and find so much joy into doing shows and being able to express themselves on stage with less judgement while they act and finding people who DO accept them and while they’re not able to stay long it gives them hope, that there are people who will accept them as they are, and if mizuki’s lucky they won’t even lose them. like. rui who was so hurt by theater and things that happened with it and mizuki who finds so much comfort and hope in it. are you hearing me.

4- through the power of luck none of them really get discovered. i think the one thats the most likely to be recognized is tsukasa though, maybe with saki or toya stumbling upon one of their videos.

10. The Floating Festival

By far the strangest and funniest glitch I've seen in a while. Let this screenie be a toast to all the weird glitches I've had in my game this year!

9. Wyatt Appreciation

I absolutely adore Wyatt. One of my favorite sims ever, but here's a fun fact: Wyatt wasn't originally gonna be in the story. It was originally just gonna be Megyn, Eva, and Jayden, but since we met Eva first, it wouldn't make the most sense if she only had one other friend to introduce to Megyn, so Wyatt came into existence! I also wanted an openly LGBTQ+ character in my story (Wyatt is nonbinary).

8. My Broken Hand

Not Sims-related, but definitely worth mentioning since it was just a strange incident that disrupted my life in the strangest way possible. On the morning of September 15 I was walking down the hallway in my room (the basement) when I suddenly tripped and fell against the wall. I tried to catch myself but my hand landed in just an awkward enough position to break my 4th metacarpal (bone underneath the ring finger). I was in a variety of casts for 6 weeks and I was forced to put my story on hiatus again. I'm happy to say I am healed and completely back to normal, though it is still ever-so-slightly sensitive.

7. Participating in community competitions for the first time

I submitted by sims Cylene Vinca (top) and Meredith Blakely (bottom) to both of @akitasimblr's bachelor challenges and had/am having an absolute blast! It inspired me to do my own community competition. I definitely plan on submitting my sims to more community things in the future!

6. Megyn (in general)

Definitely my favorite sim ever at this point. Heck, I have a whole story about her!

5. One Life Challenge

I started the One Life Challenge in March and finished it in October, and I had a lot of fun with it! The One Life Challenge is a challenge I invented myself, so if you wanna give it a try for yourself here's the rules post (I need to update the rules for For Rent though)

Total Drama Sims

I still absolutely cannot believe how successful Total Drama Sims was when it launched. Of course it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, but I think it's significant how I reached triple-digit notes for the first time and got about 75 new followers within the last month.

Playing with other people's sims has been an absolute blast. Each and every sim has their own distinctive personality and it's been so fun get to know each one. I can also tell these sims were made by different people by how different they all look! From each other and from my own sims. Total Drama Sims is definitely my most successful endeavor yet, and I'm so happy all of you seem to enjoy it! So thank you 💖 I'm considering doing a season 2 down the road, because why not??

I like how you take things in unexpected directions. I thought the whole idea of bringing the Adepti in as players in Meirin's blog was such an amazing choice. You have a lot of talent in writing different sorts of characters, and I like it a lot.

I also like how you can find a way into blog arcs. With the way you write, you're flexible enough to push the writers on the other end just enough to get them to open up into the lore they have. I remember you pushing Elzer in Dresvi's blog just enough to drop little tidbits about the general lore and the fire situation that's apparently going on in there.

Also, do not get me started on how entertaining it is to watch you start up shenanigans in Meirin's tea house. It's so much fun to read your shenanigans.

I never know what I'm gonna get when I see you as an asker, and that makes it fun.

A lot of wonderful friends (most notably @meimeimeirin @floraldresvi @moraxsthrone and @localplaguenurse) have been really inspiring me to write more and kinda... open up more? feel more comfortable with myself in my blog? bc I always had this idea of being kinda "anon" and be a little removed from my own posts and writing, but they've given me courage to be myself and have fun and do what I want and that includes selfshipping which I never really... did much? Included some of my thoughts on the songs but it's almost like 2am so it's a bit incoherent.

1- Frozen Heart - SIAMES

I think I was listening to this a lot when I was making a drawing of my object ocs, Ross and Percy, and it ended up in my on repeat. It also makes me think of Roger, it might be in his playlist now idr. This song devastates me in every possible way and I LOVE it. "Can we leave it behind? Cause I just don't know where we're going..."

2- Digital Silence - Peter McPoland

I just really like this song. It makes me think of Razmerry's patfw a lot (I still want to make a pmv with those characters with this song, btw), but lately I've been relating it a lot to my own ocs, specifically the old people cast of my comic Cursed Lights (except when they were younger :333). "This is the way that it is, this is the way that it always will be.."

3- Need 2 - Pinegrove

I like listening to this song when I go walk outside when the sun is just starting to set- my "sunset quests." I also just find a bit of relatability in this song. "It's nothing worth me saying aloud... so why do I seem to need to?"

4- Brutus - The Buttress

I literally love this song SOOOO much it's unreal. It's so Doggo and Nyx core. I want to make a pmv with this still so bad. Funny because when I first heard it I related it more to an au I had of Doggo, but now it fits very nicely with her character in canon. :) "I don't want what you had- I wanna be you!"

5- KICK BACK - Kenshi Yonezu

Tbh I don't know how this ended up here but this song has come on a lot lately in my liked songs so ig it makes sense??? Chainsawman opening, a banger fr. A very fun song to listen to.

6- Lovers - Kiltro

SWIFTPAW ZOMBIE AU MAPPPPP I had a part in it and was listening to this OBSESSIVELY. This song is seriously so good though, I'm glad the map introduced me to it. Again a song I've related to Ross and Percy, but also Roger CL. Roger. Rogerrrrr :,,,,,( my tragic old man, literally one of my favorite non main CL cast. "...All that's past or what comes next. Lovers, brothers, killers, friends..."

7- EXUVIUM - Crywolf

I'm so. I'm so normal about Crywolf songs. One of my favorite music artists like. Ever. And this song is one of my favorites, it's so insane. I love how bro screams for the last like 40 seconds of the song. Between the fact I listen to the album this is in frequently, and I've been (internally) planning an amv with my oc Smiley with this song lately, it's literally rarely left my on repeat LOLLL. "Lay waste to everything with your light..."

8- Gold Guns Girls - Metric

I've been getting into a lot of Metric songs lately, I really enjoy them. This is one of my favorites! I relate it to Daisy from my comic, as well :) I like to listen to this song when I'm in the shower sometimes, it's a fun sing along song. "I just wanna be your friend, is it ever gonna be enough?"

9- DOUBLE TROUBLE - Odetari

This is one of those songs that I don't really like half of the lyrics to HELP MEEE. I really like the main "Trouble, Trouble" part of the song and like the general pacing and rhythm of it but that's it. Makes me think of Damon and Robin since those two are literally double trouble haha. I didn't realize I listened to it a lot.

10- Song About Me - TV Girl

I like listening to this one, it's fun. I wanted to make something with it with Melody and Mimic, but idk if I ever will finish it :// I really love the little voice in the back that repeats everything. "But who really cares? If it was all in my mind, if it was all in my mind, to begin with."

My Identity as a Rigger / Rope Top

Most of my friends (including many on here) who know me well know that I am passionate about a few hobbies, and one of them is my love for rope bondage. 

My journey in rope bondage began a little over 5 years ago. To be honest, at that point in time I did not have much interest in rope. I saw it as a long drawn, uninteresting activity. But, I’ll be honest, a lot of my friends circle was curious about learning and doing it, and so I thought it does not hurt to learn at least how to tie someone quickly and safely so that the “fun times” can begin. 

I started learning Japanese shibari / kinbaku first from websites and YouTube (very bad idea, do NOT recommend), and then from books (better idea) and teachers (best idea, though not always practical depending on where you live and how much you can afford). 

In Japanese shibari there are several schools of thought, and I started learning the one that is most commonly taught at a beginner level: the Denki / Kanna style of bondage. In the beginning, what captured my interest in rope was more the geometry and engineering. The Denki style is strongly structural, and it intrigued me about how to build strong, stable structures that withstood tension and pressure and could be used very safely. The shapes that emerged from it were to my liking in a mathematical / geometric way. Interestingly along the way, I had to use quite a bit of physics, and learned quite a bit of human body anatomy - layout of nerves, blood flow, muscles, tendons, pressure points, flexibility and tolerance. It was fascinating, in a scientific way. 

So, I kept learning, contrary to my initial premise of “just a bit and no more”. 

3 years in, I had attended close to a dozen workshops and lessons, and was increasingly fluent in foundational structures, tiny details, and the push towards perfection in execution of ties. But, something felt missing. I would tell my friends, I know a lot more about rope now, but I feel like I dont have my own flavour, style, love of what I want to do through rope. 

And at that point, something changed, a lot. I got introduced to the second major style [there are more] of kinbaku, a more esoteric and less commonly taught one - the style of Nureki / Naka. 

Naka’s style of tying initially looks puzzling. It is far less structured, it has weaknesses that need to be carefully adjusted or patched. But, it has something that at least I had failed to feel in the Kanna style - and that was emotion. Naka’s style of bondage - classically centred around the concept of semenawa (suffering and endurance in rope) is not about structure and shapes and patterns. It is a way of expression, a language of communication of how you convey your feelings to your partner / lover / bottom / submissive in rope [note: not all rope bottoms are submissive, although I would argue that you need to be fairly masochistic to be into semenawa]. 

What Naka style of bondage enabled me to do was something that I struggled with - to express emotions. As a person I am fairly good at identifying and knowing what I feel and when and why. But, I am not good at talking about it. Words get stuck in my mouth and my mind - perhaps influenced by social and cultural pressures of being vulnerable as a man. So, I instead turned to rope as a medium to express - express my pain, my sadness, my aggression, my anger, my passion, my love, my loyalty, my deep care and affection - and share it with the person I am tying with. It is not uncommon for us to be able to convey, shuttle back and forth, and sense and cry together on those shared emotions without any, any words being spoken. And that has something very beautiful in it. 

I have been tying mostly in Naka style now for more than 2 years, and have attended multiple trainings and workshops. It has opened up a new world for me in bondage and self expression. My friends tell me that my personality switches when I start tying. I am generally a very laid back, soft spoken, gentle and approachable person. But, when I and my rope bottom kneel down side by side and I put her in place and reach for the first line of jute, the mood shifts. The tension is thick and quiet, in search of wordlessly sharing and listening to the emotions of the day. I extract every bit of submission and surrender out of her [note: I have sometimes tied men too], and she knows that me making her endure and suffer is, in a twisted way, a proof of how much I value her, how much I this depth only with her, how much it touches me to see how far she is willing to give to my (often) silent unleashing.

I am far from a master, it will probably take me years more to really find my own way of expression. But I am happy with what shibari has given me, and how it has helped me grow as a person - in patience, in expression, in connection. This year I hope to actively start teaching [I have taught in bits and pieces before and have been kindly encouraged], but the logistics of it are yet to be worked out. Perhaps this is also why I am critical and selective about the rope work I often see on social media (especially here on Tumblr) because I can very easily see mistakes where many just see a pretty picture, and I feel responsible to share the real essence of shibari.

Hiiiiii I asked the question earlier about the Azriel centric book, mentioning my more casual reader friends and their lack of feeling or interest in E/riel, etc etc. Thank you for the response 🥰

In HOFAS, so many things happened and I’m still trying to let it all sink in so I don’t remember it exactly but when Nesta Bryce and Az were talking about Bryce’s (and the Asteri’s) light, they debated if it was starlight or light or maybe even DAYlight. My Elucien ears perked up! Were the bonus chapters and HOFAS not as Az heavy as it was relative to the other characters and SJM bringing him up more than Elain in interviews lately, I would be 💯 convinced that Elucien is next. But I still have my hesitations, I guess we’ll find out! I so badly want it to be Eluciens!!

I feel like whichever couple is featured in the sixth (last?) book, they will not get as much page time or attention where we can really dig deep because SJM will be tying up a lot of things. So if I had to choose, I’d rather get Elucien in ACOTAR5 and not the sixth book so they get proper page time and exploration and explanation. I adore Gwynriel! But idk man, we’ve been with Elain and Lucien for way longer and that mating bond was revealed to us way earlier. Ultimately, in my ideal world, SJM will write a full book for both ships and write a 7th book to wrap it all up with all of our MCs POVs (including Feyre and Rhys!) and that would make for a wonderful full circle book! But the chances of that happening are way way slimmer. It sounds like after ACOTAR5, she’s gonna turn her attention elsewhere so who knows when we’ll get ACOTAR6 or even the possibility of ACOTAR7!

I am pretty curious if Helion / Lucien will end up being tied to descendants of the first Starborn with the light they have and if so, will that play any important role to the plot as it did for Bryce's story as Theia's heir.

I think it's understandable to be going back and forth on the next book.

You're right, Az has gotten a lot of attention in the last two releases (SF and HOFAS) and if SJM is marketing the next book the way she did Nessian's than it would be valid to assume he's next.

But if she's marketing the next book the same way she did ACOMAF, where she was super quiet on Rhys's future role and what he would become to Feyre or the ending of CC2, where she kept it a secret from everyone than that could indicate "less is more" and Elucien is next.

There's precedence for both scenarios which is why I think the arguments on both sides are valid.

But with her saying that she's focusing on the next ACOTAR book then looking forward to a different project after that it makes me wonder if we are going to see some sort of major resolution to the Koschei / Beron / Spring / Vassa plots.

She wanted to move directly into CC3 after writing CC2 so if the next ACOTAR book sets up for the "final" spin-off, where the big bad is finally defeated, then wouldn't it make sense for her to continue on with the ACOTAR series rather than something else?

That is also something that makes me lean towards Elucien being next. Along the lines of what you said, if the next book deals with the Illyrians / Valkyrie / Time Travel (really big storylines) and that's then going to connect to Koschei / Beron / Spring / Vassa /the treaty, it seems like a lot for the final book.

But if she were to break those down into individual plots / series, it's less ground to cover.

If Elucien was next and they only dealt with Koschei / Beron / Spring / Vassa / and the treaty and their book did not need to bring in Time Travel / the Illyrians and the Valkyrie (because why would the Valkyrie / Illyrians be connected to Koschei in the next book then suddenly be meaningless in the final one?) that wraps up the arcs that were introduced in ACOWAR.

Then, SJM goes on to work on her new mystery project, then CC4 or hops back to the ACOTAR world. But at that point she calls it a new series that deals with the Valkyrie / Time Travel / the Illyrians and that will connect to the future crossover stories. And maybe that new series will not consist of only traditional romance standalone dual POVs. Maybe it will shift POVs between ACOTAR characters and even characters from other series but because it would then be labeled a "new series" it could standalone from Feyre's trilogy and the two books following her sisters.

There's a lot of different and valid ways to look at what SJM has planned and honestly, any single one could be right because we just don't know. She seems to be spinning a bunch of plates at the same time and we're all just trying to get inside her brain and think like her but she's managed to surprise us all time and again!

I'm not really sure if my writing process even counts as a "process"?

When i start a fic, it's typically because I have one goal in mind. For An Insulting Indifference, it was to explore the psychological effects that reality TV has had on all the cast members, specifically Noah and Alejandro. The romance was secondary to that, honestly, but it was woven in really well to the character arcs I wanted them to go through as they grew!

Once I have a main goal in place, I just start the fic! A lot of my fic writing is improvisational. I get super into the mind of the characters I'm writing, and let their actions and words flow out naturally. A lot fo the times, it's the characters that drive the story more than I do. They lead me down paths I never expected to take the story myself, and then I just follow it and make the most of it!

Of course I have certain beats I want to hit, so I always try to find a way to introduce them as naturally as possible into the narrative that exists besides myself.

I also reread and edit my fics dozens and dozens and dozens of times before posting them, since I don't have any beta readers. Also, I will sometimes write future scenes at the bottom of my document so I don't forget them, which makes foreshadowing much easier, as well as making parallels and callbacks.

Hope this gave you some fun insight! And I'm sorry again for the wait on the last chapter. I'm still chipping away, waiting for the spark to truly come back. The reboot seasons have helped a lot in that!

ok. so. this fic is my baby. my first born, if u will. let you love me is just. idk. domesticity and ~drama~ and royai all wrapped into one. it was a major comfort to write. the development of the relationship between roy and riza, and all which stood between them was cool to figure out. not to mention giving them their own backstory and own challenges!! that was so fun (and also, cue the ✨ melodrama ✨ for the extra feels hehehehe SO FUN). and omg. riza having a kid and them just having such a wholesome relationship. and then introducing roy into it as well, and having james taking to him so quickly. an absolute TREAT to work on. i still listen to the playlist i created to listen to while writing it today and love it w all my heart with all the memories it sparks 🥰 it's a pure joy. so it makes me endlessly happy when others leave little comments and enjoy it as much as i did working on it. because writing this fic is the most enjoyment i have ever had working on something. pure joy

this next fic is also my baby. my child. the love of my life. hit and run was soooooo fun to work on. it all started as a night out in edinburgh, going on a drunk ghost tour into the vaults of north bridge. next thing i knew, a royai fic pops into my brain and its this beauty right here. stunnin. i really tried to incorporate some of my own country's history into it, blending it in with royai, which is why i love it. and again, it doesn't get a lot of attention nowadays, but when people like it enough to read and drop a wee comment, it sparks so much joy, let me tell u. it makes my day <3 it's probably my most re-read fic from me hahaha

ANOTHER CHILD. my bby. my inferno is just..... so happy. so free from angst - which i wanted!!! i didn't want any drama for royai. there is life drama, just like there is for everyone. but it's mostly just them being happy. in love. doting on each other. being successful and achieving their dreams. so when ppl comment on it and tell me how they love it.......... (one or two have even told me its their comfort fic like !!!!!!!!!!! 😳 wtf!!! 😳😳🥹) it makes my heart so happy. i adore this one sm

special shout out to this one. the way it was, was the biggest, most daunting project i have ever worked on. it took me years to even be mentally prepared to write it haha. there were struggles. there was plenty of hate for it, weirdly, lmao they were wildin - which even pushed me to the point of not even wanting to finish it (i remember conversations with my close friends, offering only to finish it and share it with them, rather than posting it). but guess what, ya bitch overcame it, and i did finish it. i fucking did it!!! and yes, there is melodrama. there is angst, possibly too much of it. but ehhhh who cares. i still love it and that's all that matters. it's another one of my children and i adore it, faults and all 🥰 so whenever i get a wee comment on it i just "audshfdg aww 🥺🥺🥹" it makes those comments even more special to me :)

Ranger! Idk why exactly, i just like to think that Khozzak isn’t… he’s not bad with animals necessarily, he just really doesn’t know what you… do with them??? Fjklsdjf I mean, his Jackal is a construct; his Warclaw is a construct; his Griffon… well, Hornet just decided that she really liked him and now she follows him around. She’s allowed to do whatever her little heart desires. He doesn’t know how to deal with animals so she’s the most spoiled little Griffon in the world ♥

5. What would they look like as the side character in someone else's story?

Still a Lightbringer for the Order of Whispers! He specializes in foiling enemy mesmers, so he could be a recurring character for shenanigans VS evil mesmers! :D In AU’s he isn’t the Commander, he actually eventually leaves the Order of Whispers and makes his own Guild! It’s made under a serious premise but basically turns into “thieves and minor criminals accidentally find a family in each other.” ^^

7. Do they have any skills or abilities that their class wouldn't normally have/just go about their class differently in some kind of way?

He’s always had a knack for connecting to the Mists, due to a weird incident when he was a kid that he doesn’t remember himself! In that sense, he’s a Revenant before they’re properly introduced, but was originally trained as a Warrior. He thought of his Rev tricks as just “putting his own flair on it” lmao.

Specifically during and post-Icebrood: He gets a kind of freezing dodge! I mean, he gets iced, and he acts kind of like a spooky ghost ability-wise for Icebrood Saga. Basically, he can now dash through enemies and freeze/chill them on his way through! <3

14. Biggest misconception about them?

hm… Probably, since that Level 70 fear story - that he’s easily foiled by mesmers! While that was true back then, he doubled down and took to studying mesmers as well as he could to make sure that he never made such a mistake again. So, while the general public probably believes that mesmers are his main weakness, they’re not anymore! >:) Now he’s become their weakness! It’s my favorite bit because when I first played story with him, I… somehow picked every single story step where mesmers were out for your head. I have no idea how I managed that, but it gave him a vendetta Lmfao.

15. What is their favorite and least favorite part of being the commander (or whatever role they play in your canon)?

His favorite part would be that he gets to travel! He always meant to when he was younger, and just never had the time because he was taking care of himself and two sisters. His least favorite part… learning that enemy mesmers are the actual worst. :) thinks about that Level 70 fear story again, where you get tricked into murdering your own troops <3 "he had such a great time! it was so fun!" i said, you know. like a liar.

I like this one, because it’s right off of his playlist and specifically highlights how he has trouble expressing emotions a lot! His childhood was a rough one, where it was better to hide your emotions rather than show them in any form. Spending most of his teenage years and adult life in the Order of Whispers, where he was taught how to hide them further, definitely didn’t help him learn how to express himself at all! It’s all in there, it’s just… having trouble getting out somehow. :’) It’s okay though, he figures out that people really like home-baked bread and stuff, so he starts doing that and giving it out to his friends and all aksddfgkj (He makes Qlikk’s favorite cookies at least once a month ♥)

What’s the first fandom you can remember being a part of and would you consider yourself still a part of it? hmm y’know i was just thinkin about how involved i’ve actually been in fandoms, and i gotta say i’m pretty inactive in them (as in i don’t produce a lot of “content” for them) and tend to just enjoy the series by myself or with a friend. i consider my contributions to a fandom to be my art for it and i don’t think i post art frequently enough to really Be a member of a fandom. but i don’t mind that!

to actually answer the question though, my first was likely pokemon. specifically mystery dungeon because hero x partner videos on youtube (LMFAO) were what introduced me to deviantart, and then the ✨rest of the internet✨. i still love and draw pokemon, but i don’t think fandom culture is really for me LMAO so no i don’t– and never really have– considered myself part of any fandom.

2. What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received? Alternatively, what would make you happiest to be complimented about? omg i immediately know the answer to this. somebody once said to me, “you’re like a sunflower: tall and pretty” like WHAT!! 😭😭💖💞💘 anyway that’s when sunflowers became my favorite flower 🌻

3. Do you want to be famous? absolutely not, i wouldn’t be able to tolerate such a constant and tremendous amount of attention. but i wouldn’t mind a small following! i kinda like the idea of inspiring a small group of people... anyway it’s kinda the same reason why cult followings > giant fandoms

4. What’s something you always wished you could be good at? oof, many things. i wish i was generally more crafty (cosplay, plush-making, etc.), i wish i knew my way around some sorta weapon tbh, like archery? and i wish i was handy with tools n such. ooh and storytelling, i have a lotta doubts abt my storytelling abilities. OH and i wish i had more common sense/street smarts T_T) i’m aware a lot of these develop with practice, but like.. omg my brain is always so full, setting aside time is difficult LOL. but hopefully i’ll get to try them someday :”)

5. If you were given complete freedom to plan your dream vacation, where would you go and what would you do there? it’s nothing really unique but i just really wanna be someplace tropical in a quiet and remote area. buy fruit from local street markets, hike up scenic mountain trails. Y’know. and just fuggin paddleboard and swim and relax on the sand all day long (the coarse kind of sand that feels like a sugar scrub). also my dog has to be there with me. and it’s a permanent vacation. i will live there.

How did you first end up on Tumblr? an artist i’ve looked up to since.. forever left deviantart for this hellsite (affectionate), so i followed. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ now they (mostly) left for twitter, and i followed them there too, but turned tf back. we already know how abysmal twitter is. edit: and it’s really only gotten worse huh

7. What was the last piece of media you saw/read/played that left a memorable impact on you? it was probably when i decided to watch an lp of the last of us a while back. i rarely cry on the spot from any sort of narrative, but that one left me in pieces from the beginning. that was an intense game throughout so i’d say it left quite an impact on my heart ;; aggressively ignores part two edit: the show’s good tho!! i wonder if it’ll fix part two. also this art is from 2020

8. What are you looking forward to in the foreseeable future? it’s not guaranteed to happen but i’d love to move into a place with a close friend or two, and we’re all doing our best and cooking for each other and playing video games together,,, i’d really like that. edit: since writing this i’ve actually begun some moving plans with a group of friends WAAAHH i’m so excited :D we’re going to test our roommate compatibility this summer!

9. What’s a random fun fact that you’ve learned recently? my friend kinda hinted to me a while back that a part of the ancient cistern dungeon from skyward sword is based off a super cool japanese short story?? it’s called “the spider’s thread,” if you’re unfamiliar with the story and you’ve played ss, just read a synopsis of the story and it’s very clear where the inspiration comes from. this was just such a cool reference

10. What’s a piece of advice that you’ve always found useful? hmmm i can’t think of any especially profound advice to share, but the phrase “lefty loosey righty tighty” helps me remember which way to screw screws, twist a hose faucet, etc.

HI OMG ILY TOO 😭😭 already know this is gonna take me a hot minute because u chose some deep questions but mostly because that’s just a me problem <3333 here we go!!!

what are 3 things you’d say shaped you into who you are?

dAng okay starting off STRONG hm for positive things i’d say first my middle school friends. my friend group coming out opened to door to my own queerness and created an atmosphere where queerness was the norm and we were able to unapologetically express that. it’s a little nostalgic looking back because since moving schools i’ve definitely had to suppress a ton more and talking about my queerness in any way irl has become sort of taboo for me which is a little sad. but i will forever be grateful for them for introducing that side of the world that i might have taken a long time to meet otherwise and ofc for being such a beautiful support system and lovely people <3 i miss yall second uhhhhhhhhh i’d say omg okay so listen this is gonna sound stupid but i am 100% serious when i say seaweed brain podcast. they not only reintroduced me to percy jackson and showed that it’s okay to still love this fandom when you’ve “outgrown it” (and that led to me re entering a lot of fandoms that used to bring me a ton of joy as a kid) but they’ve also taught me a ton, how to think critically about text you read and topics you hear about, how to love a text and see it’s faults, showed me a ton of new perspectives and taught me a lot of important lessons about like problematic parts of literature or tropes or ideas that as a kid i obviously didn’t catch but are so so important for me to learn about and start unlearned now. and ofc theyve showed me that it’s okay to have different opinions and to change your opinions and to share your opinions and have respectful open fun discourse about them <3 and always such a queer safe space for me before tumblr was in the picture and have let me live vicariously through their rants of how gay the books are with their guests :) so yes i would fr say they have shaped me a lot into the much more informed nerd i am now and help provide a support system and a source of comfort from irl <33 love u erica and carter lol keep slaying and lastly i’d say definitely joining tumblr <3 i first came on here last summer after a therapy session where my therapist was asking about my friends and was like ‘well do u have any online friends’ and i was like no my parents wouldn’t let me and also i wasn’t sure how to even find those friends. and then i remembered about tumblr which i had previously though was like an old app like i didn’t think it still existed 😭😭 and i was like well hm lets see if it’s still there and honestly *winks at camera* it was the best thing that i’d ever done no but seriously i was not doing so hot at that point and the community on tumblr—just the unapologetic joy and curiosity and passion and casual affection and community—it really helped me just to get through the day knowing i had a source of joy at the end of it! and it also gave me a space where i could be myself after a day of masking and conformity and finally god finally have somewhere where i could express things like hyperfixations or simple queer things without apology or criticism and ahhhh it’s helped me love myself so much more and encouraged my curiosity and helped me learn so much through so many resources! and ofc gave me many many lovely ao3 fics :) ily all so so much ty for being the best <3 tumblr for the win

12. what’s some good advice you want to share?

probably something i think a lot more people need to hear is that no one fits into a box. humans exist on a spectrum in pretty much every dimension of our life and trying to limit yourself to just one point on that spectrum erases so much of the beauty and potential and magnitude of just living as yourself. even though society might tell you that you’ll only be accepted if you look, dress, talk, act, believe, grow up, love, experience the world in one way, they’re lying. those are systems of oppression that have hundreds of thousands of forever of years integrating in our institutions and so yes they will make it hard for you to exist as you are no matter what. but they are nothing compared to the true complexity and nuance of being human. they cannot define you—literally no one can define you except yourself. and that’s another thing: it’s okay to be wrong about that definition. the journey of self discovery and throwing off the labels society has placed on you since birth is not. easy. but it doesn’t have to be, and it will never look the same for anyone, and you will probably make interpretations about how you fit into the world that you will disagree with later on! but the important thing is to find people who care about you and support you and love you not despite but because of who you are and if you are struggling to find those people, make sure to care about and support and love yourself!! because you are beautiful and strong and worthy for just existing in this world that is trying it’s damn hardest to make it difficult <3 i love you for all the wonderful confusing doesn’t make sense and doesn’t have to lovely rainbow of a human being you are

24. what’s one thing you’re proud of yourself for?

jesus u fr chose the hard ones bestie 😭😭 um i’d say one thing i am proud of myself for is how much i’ve grown over just the last year or so? i’ve found so many incredible resources and learned through research and communities and self reflection SO much about myself and about others!! i’m really proud of how much more informed and critically thinking and mature i am today, and how much i’ve learned about my own biases and those present in the institutions controlling our everyday lives. obviously still working on it but i think i can say i’m much more able to see things in a nuanced way and im more informed about a TON of things that i previously assumed i knew! i also love how this has really fed my curiosity and also allowed me to connect with other people like y’all in communities i never would have reached out to otherwise <3
