The animated Barbie movies from the early 2000s had far more nuanced feminist ideas and rich storylines for their characters, not to mention some amazing soundtracks and top notch comedic voice acting, than whatever the Barbie Movie (2023) ever had going on…

hi hi it’s been a few months! i was thinkin bout how it’s simblreen time in a month and it made me sad and reminisce and i just wanted to check on this blog again <3
i will say, im likely not going to be active again for a long ass time. i have 0 motivation to even open my game. it’s actually quite overwhelming to think about doing, a lot bc of the maintenance i’d need to do to my mods folder and that’s not worth it if i’m not gonna enjoy playing anyways. it might have to do with my mental health being shit too but eh who can say lol
i would like to say, this blog has literally brought me such joy over the past 2 years. i got to interact with cool ass people and play the sims in such a creative way i hadn’t really done before (i hadn’t ever really played around with using poses and doing photo shoots and shit before simblr) idk thinking about it makes me smile but it also sucks ass that i don’t see myself ever being in that place again. that being said, i might come back whenever i pick up sims again. but i dunno. feels like chapter has been closed for a while.
bye for now <333
(if you’d like to follow me elsewhere, i’m over on @book-tease ! it’s a fandom/personal blog tho so i reblog a lot be warned)
wait but before i go have some pics of my cats

no I don't think I ever did watch that one when i was a kid, was it creepy?
(For those who may see this out of context they mentioned an old Muppet movie and I brought up Elmo in Grouchland)
I don't remember Elmo in Grouchland being mega creepy but I vaguely remember some parts being. Distressing? I think they did a good job at capturing little kid fears like losing an item that means a lot to you or having people be mean to you or getting in trouble for asking for help.
Now, Elmo's Musical Adventure - Peter and The Wolf? That one got kinda spooky, simply because they played everything so straight. I did not need to see duck!Telly scream and run for his life.
(Side note this reminded me of the weird Elmo computer games we had. I'm like a Sesame Street Sleeper Agent.)

I, Gancena, am beginning to suspect that the overlap between Mortal Kombat fans and JoJo fans is greater than I first realized...

Random thought, but anyone else feel kinda sad sometimes when they see nostalgia images that have things from your childhood? like in a "god damn, I used to love that..." kinda way.
doesn't mean it's all bad! it's kinda nice seeing something that reminds me of the good times in my life, though I still can't help but feel a mixed up wave of nostalgia and somberness when I look back at those memories...IDK some some feelings I get.
