Now that Taylor joe is over I feel like shippers are going to be worse for 1989 tv. One group would be screaming "Taylor date harry you guys are soulmates" while others would be "she's coming out this is for dianna". Not to mention the men she is going to be linked with everytime she steps out of the house. I have nothing against Taylor and harry dating again if they want to(they are adults and it's not my business ) but I am terrified of the shippers who will take even the most random coincidences as 'proof'. I hope Taylor can get through all this while handling the grief properly

those people are obnoxious and just the absolute worst parts of fandom on both sides, and they've never actually loved her as a person nor supported her real life regardless, so all we can do for her and ourselves is ignore them. i am slightly concerned about what the media coverage of the re-recordings will look like going forward since some people don’t know how to behave themselves (as evidenced by red tv), but those particular groups thrive on negative attention and their own bizarre twisting of facts, and they’ve been doing this for years. they don't deserve our time. hopefully she doesn’t see that stuff, but i think she’s smart and strong enough to know to ignore it if she does encounter it, and she’s the one who knows the truth of her experience. (they were always going to be deranged about 1989 anyway, this unfortunately gives them more of a vendetta, but it certainly doesn’t give them more veracity). they’ve always taken the most random coincidences as proof because they’re conspiracy theorists thriving off of confirmation bias. taylor's hopefully doing the very best she can to take care of herself and protect her space and mental health, and that's the best we can do for ourselves too.

It's LITERALLY "my mother accused me of losing my mind but I swore I was fine." the song dives into the feeling of danger and why she KNEW he was trouble! she heard everyone tell her to run and she ignored when they said that. she told her mother she was fine! but she went through with it anyway. the song processes THAT emotion.

it's a love song, but it's not a happy one. it's a song about fear and danger and making choices based on an adrenaline rush rather than an actual connection. and in fact, the song actually questions how much of it was choice. the whole second verse "I can't decide if it's a choice, getting swept away. I hear the sound of my own voice asking you to stay." the next lines "all we are is skin and bone trained to get along. forever going with the flow, but you're friction." spells it out SO CLEARLY!!! she's not with this guy because she likes HIM, she's with him because he's different and makes her feel something. and what she feels is treachery and danger. she's afraid and that's what she's running to. the WHOLE SONG is about the seduction of treachery. NOT the love for this person, or even the like of this person. She's not being seduced by THIS PERSON. she's being seduced by the FEELING THAT SHE COULD GET HURT
