i know canonically charlie loves daft punk and muse but this information does not stop me from adding primarily cavetown songs to all of my charlie spring playlists

This short right here is worth more than a thousand words. Maybe my brain is just making stuff up, but the fear and sadness in his eyes is so relatable

I have a lot to say about Heartstopper but I don't know how to fully express it.
However, one thing I would like to say is just how important and powerful that end scene is in episode 8, where all of them are just dancing together in a room. It's nothing but a bunch of queer teens, happy, dancing, full of queer joy and queer love and in a safe space.
I'm so glad the directors let that scene play out for a while. It's just so important. Like, I can't remember having shows accessible to me as a child, adolescent or even teenager where I could just be mesmerized by such a heartfelt scene of queer joy.
It makes me so fucking emotional and happy for adolescents nowadays to have this type of media available to them on mainstream media. I know it can be easily overlooked, but as someone in their late 20s, I appreciate this so much. As such, I will continue to consume media geared towards YA in the form of shows and books as long as I live, as it just wasn't as readily there growing up, at least in the small town where I lived.
Thank you so much Alice Oseman. I trust you with my life for giving us the type of gentle queer media that is so desperately needed nowadays. I wept tears of queer joy because of you. <3

I know how obvious this is, but can we talk about just how fucked up Harry’s comments are about Charlie’s sexuality on Heartstopper? Nick’s reaction is literally everything. Harry’s comments may be aimed at Charlie, but Nick is actually getting a taste of homophobia. How cruel people are all because you’re attracted to the same gender. And that shit STINGS. It’s not just about Charlie at this point. It’s the fact that Nick is finding more reasons to stay in the closet because it’ll put his SAFETY at risk. Those homophobic words that come from Nick’s so-called “friend.” The fact that Harry’s friends and Nick’s “mates” just back Harry up on his shitty comments. The literal f-slur that finally pushes Nick to punch Harry. Nick must’ve felt so betrayed. Yet Nick tells Charlie that he shouldn’t even have to deal with those types of comments from people like Harry, let alone be used to them. Nick is so protective towards Charlie because he knows that the people around him won’t accept Nick for who he is and the boy he loves (don’t know if that’s a strong word, but you get what I mean) but is already a target of homophobia. Nick finally understands discrimination, even if it’s not directed towards him, he realizes just how bad Charlie has it. But damn, he’s not gonna put up with it, and he sure as hell won’t let Charlie put up with it anymore. THAT’S how much Nick’s relationship with Charlie means to Nick, to literally fight those whom you thought were your friends to keep that thing that makes you happy.
