people keep posting duolingo 'alternatives' like these apps offer more than like the 5 most popular languages lol. No shit there's plenty resources for French and Korean. The issue is the smaller lamguages because no one is doing those like duolingo!!
AAAAAHHHH MY PEOPLE ARE HERE (well one of them anyway)
Beni (B’nai) in Hebrew means “son of” or “children of” so this must be a specific subgroup of Jewish people. Jewish liturgy often refers to Jews as “B’Nai Yisrael” for example.
just found out there's really cheap language classes here at an adult education center so guess who's gonna learn Hebrew as soon as they offer a new course for beginners!!
parred down $300 of textbooks to the barest minimum of $143 (or possibly more because B&N makes you agree to buy new books if they don't actually have the used books they advertised. Why can't they have an option to email you and let you make a new decision based on the price of the book? Or have a button to choose not to buy the more expensive new book? I know why).
Anyway, I've purchased the books. Cancel the pillory. You may dispose of your rotten vegetables elsewhere.
That's cool your mom converted :) when I move, I'm gonna start my own conversion process so it's really nice to hear of others 💙
Yup! And hers was an enormous pain in the ass because we were members of a conservative synagogue when I was growing up, which is a Jewish denomination and has nothing to do with politics. This is an oversimplification but as far as degrees of "severity" go you have, in ascending order, Reform -> Conservative -> Orthodox -> Hasidic. And the whole process took her like a year and a half, she had to learn to read and speak enough Hebrew to be able to study the Talmud, like the whole thing sucks lol. You have to be committed. I was converted at birth in a mikvah due to being born to a Christian mother but I spent, I dunno, seven or eight years of my life in Hebrew school right after day school, attending Shabbat services, right up until I was bat mitzvahed. Good luck and godspeed!
