Hellcheer au where they're in the same college class and keep responding to each other's discussion boards because they're both convinced the other person is a genius because they just. have the most beautiful insightful things to say and they're infatuated with the thoughts they have and connections they make in their discussion posts

They've never met in person and only know each other by name and their tiny canvas profile picture or whatever until they do meet somehow, maybe in a different class or through mutual friends OR maybe one of them works somewhere on/near campus and the other shows their student ID to get the discount and the one working like. quotes one of their discussion posts at them or something idk

never mind the fact that i already have four hellcheer wips and will have seven by the end of the week shh i need you all to know that i’m thinking about a daisy jones and the six style au where it’s like rivals to lovers with a dash of secret relationship (and a happily ever after because tjr i love u but i do not believe in a world where chrissy and eddie don’t end up together i just do NOT)

the only thing that’s going to be genuinely difficult about this au is writing them not immediately being head over fucking heels for each other BUT the tension!!! is!!!! the!!!! best!!!! part!!!!

also i am absolutely seeing chrissy as a debbie harry/kate bush type and maybe corroded coffin is less heavy metal and more hair metal like poison or motley crue (soz eddie i know this would hurt your soul but it’s Necessary) and sure their first album did well and they’re somewhat popular but when chrissy joins the band it really puts them on the map and as much as eddie likes her it just burns his ass that the band couldn’t get there on their own.

(that is until they both fuckin’ admit that they’re crazy about each other and their songwriting gets even better but maybe they keep their relationship a secret because the animosity between them really sells their records)

And I love the fandom adopting the idea that Eddie is gay, and Steve is bisexual (and often Eddie is Steve's bi awakening, that feels accurate), but I'm also very hyped about the idea of Eddie learning he's bi because he has a brief crush on Chrissy.

I can picture him so easily after spending half an hour with Chrissy in the woods his mind going like "I thought I was into guys?!?! what's happening???", and then blushing because she was adorable all the time and then learning that he was wrong all along for sterotyping her for being a cheerleader, thinking to himself "well I think it's time to rethink a few things", and then everything goes holy shit and he gets to know Steve and he goes like "ok, yup, so apparently I've got a type and that happens to be layered jocks with unfitting reputations, hearts of gold, 80 pound sweet pupper energy, impossibly huge eyes and smiles that can eclipse the sun. I'm fucked."

Eddie and Chrissy were eye fucking on that picnic table but people still say they're platonic. It doesn't annoy me. (Well, a little.) It just makes me laugh because they claim they love Joseph Quinn but completely ignore him whenever he speaks the truth about the character he played. It doesn't stop you from shipping Steddie or shipping Chrissy with a woman. He played Eddie bisexually to me, and if Grace had gotten to interact with any other character, I'm sure she would have too. I don't know why it makes me laugh. I guess it's better than being annoyed. Steve and Robin are perfect examples of fantastic platonic chemistry, Eddie and Chrissy are not.
