Pokeani characters as glitches from the Pokémon games

Gonna leave a bunch of these blank for now bc I'm indecisive and I like hearing what you all have to say!!! Also some of these accidentally got sad oops. Anyways, enjoy!

Ash: Pewter Gym skip glitch (RB). He's pacing around town, still trying to figure out how he's gonna beat Brock with his very ill-suited team, when suddenly everyone starts treating him like he already has the badge. Okay then.

Brock: Bad Egg (multiple gens). He's opened his own Pokémon daycare, and for some reason, one of his client's Pokémon keep laying radioactive, hazardous eggs. Eventually, his business gets shut down, which is why he later decides to become a doctor instead.

Misty: MissingNo glitch (RB). She just so happened to leave the Safari Zone, go to Route 20, and surf along the coast of Cinnibar Island when that monstrosity of pixels jumps out at her. Tried to use it in a gym battle once but was put on a month-long suspension by the Indigo League.

May: that glitch where if the battle ends in a draw, you black out but the victory music still plays (RBY). Specifically from that one cursed Petalburg City episode where she wins against Ash by using Ember on his face and the whole town cheers for her.

Dawn: tells her mom "no need to worry" and then a minute later, accidentally warps herself to Glitch City (RBY).

Barry: the void from DP. He runs too fast in the wrong pattern one day and suddenly, all he sees in front of him is black.

Cilan: Berry glitch (RS). He notices that the herbs he planted at home a few weeks ago still haven't grown and thinks it's a bit odd. But then autumn rolls around and the leaves are still green, the sun doesn't set, and his Xtransceiver is stuck on 10:37am. The passage of time has stopped, and Cilan can do nothing but lament.

Clemont: Lumiose City save glitch (XY). One of his inventions misfired and now has him frozen in place as the world passes by him. Permanently.

Bonnie: The Lv. 153 exploding Bulbasaur glitch (RBY). It's her last day on this earth, and she has absolutely no regrets.

Mallow: Pomeg glitch (RSE & DPPt). She's just trying to comfort her injured Tsareena with those berries she really likes when suddenly, Tsareena passes out in her arms. But not really somehow? She is very confused and alarmed.

Goh: Mew glitch (RBY). He researched meticulously for this one, down to the Fly/Teleport trick, location, and Special stat. Bonus points if Gary convinced him that Mew was hidden under a truck first

Horace: Celebi egg glitch (GSC). Really, he wasn't trying to hatch a Celebi, it just happened. He panics and releases it out of guilt.

shigegou, shigesatogou, shigetoki names .

names i’ve seen for shigegou  :  projectshipping, mewshipping, regishipping. i think regishipping is perfect !! i associate projectshipping and mewshipping with shigetokigou in my head, but regishipping is way more shigegou.

name i recommend for shigegou  :  113shipping. ltrly just the episode they caught the regis. the number 113 is associated with change and new beginnings, and this was the beginning of a different side of shigegou, one where they don’t fight as rivals, but as friends. this was a new chapter in their relationship, and an important part of it, but i still prefer regishipping. idk.

names i’ve seen for shigesatogou  :  nothing!! literally nothing! everybody always calls it shigesatogou. cuz that’s what it is. i don’t think i’ve ever seen somebody refer to this ship as something other than shigesatogou, tbh. 

name i recommend for shigesatogou  :  catchemshipping. it’s bad. we should just stick to shigesatogou. but hear me out, hear me out! ash’s last name is ketchum and his original goal was to catch ‘em all, which is goh’s current goal. and gary, especially in the original series, proved himself to be way better and quicker at catching pokémon than ash. 

names i’ve seen for shigetoki  :  again, nothing. i’ve only seen like 2 ppl talk abt this ship actually. and it’s just referred to as shigetoki, or no pairing name at all. but there are even less popular ships w ship names, and this pairing deserves at least a bit more popularity.

names i . . yk the drill  :  trialshipping, rivalguideshipping. trialshipping is really only bcz of the idea of the project mew trial missions, tbh. they only interacted in one on-screen mission, but i feel like they saw each other at even more, establishing some rivalry.  rivalguideshipping is more because of goh, and how both gary and tokio were his rivals in very different ways. gary was his classic annoyingly-smart rival, and tokio always tried to stay friendly. they both guided him on the same paths, in such different ways.

Gou's hometown, Vermillion City, is known as "The Port of Exquisite Sunsets" while Tokio's hometown, Cianwood City, is known as "A Port of Crashing Waves"….

What a lovely parallel! It's definitely not a coincidence to make Tokio's hometown Cianwood.

After all, they're both enthusiastic nerds who wish to meet their favourite Mythical Pokemon and earnestly strive towards their dreams. Of course it makes sense for them to both be from a port city. A port is where ships set sail. Their capacity to dream is symbolically represented by the port cities they hail from as they set off on a journey and sail to their dreams.
