Look I have no intent to play the official TCG game or sell my Pokemon cards at professional grade eBay values. I just love the cards for the art. I love the little clay art ones. I love the full art ones that I know I don't have the luck or commitment to hunt. I have card art images saved. I like the silly little guys.
I just went through a card binder of mine. HS Undaunted was a good set- shame that all the ones I have from the set are flea market bootlegs my grandma got me when I was younger.

Of Bonds Forged in Battle - Arataki Itto x Tengu General Reader
as a tengu general charged with keeping the forests and lands of Inazuma safe, its no surprise that many gangs come through your path, but this time, the leader of the Arataki gang decides a formal introduction is long overdue.
hello hello everyone ✨ apologies for the silence, i just started a new job so my free time ia a little shorter than it was but i wanted to write something new, and with my Arataki Itto brainrot ensuing in full force, here's a little oneshot about him to start your week. and yes, i diagnose him as Himbo so i hope you enjoy 💫
~
the first time Itto had seen you was on the battlefield, sunlight glinting off your sword and the arrows that flew from your bow as you darted between soldiers, between his men and fought with that blissful unending fire in your eyes.
he'd watched you for a moment as you roared orders at your platoon and charged endlessly into the hoard charging to your face, unphased, undaunted, with endless strength. and he'd smiled so wide his cheeks ached. at last there was another who met his strength and passion for battle, for victory, and in that moment, he vowed to know you. but the chaos of the battle in the ruins of Tatarasuna swelled so suddenly that not a moment later you had vanished and his attention was taken away to some guards who dared to face him.
the oni grinned and growled, launching his spiked batton of a claymore into the smoky air before sending it hurtling down over his shoulder into the ground so hard to create a cavern at his feet. the soldiers fell, more rose up, and he raced towards them, laughing as he swung and broke the earth beneath him again and again, but through it all, you were in the back of his mind.
"Itto, your... fifth and final beer." the bartender called from across the wooden bench before sliding the goblet down towards him.
Itto chuffed as he caught it and raised it in toast to the young man filling another's cup, calling down to him louder than necessary, "I thank you good sir! may you never run out of good wine!"
"Maybe for you I will." he muttered under his breath but the head of the Arataki clan just bellowed a laugh, clapped the soldier at his side on the back, ready to drink his fill once again when out of the corner of his eye, through the window of this bar in the middle of Inazuma city, he catches a glimpse of the cloak night black and silver that had donned his tengu warrior in every battle he'd met them in.
in a split second, Itto shot to his feet, the stool tumbling out behind his large legs before he stumbles towards the door.
"Hey!" the bartender called after him. "No matter how many youve come here, you still have to pay for that drink!"
"Ah, just put it on Shinobu's tab." he called back with a wave of his claw tipped hand before stumbling out into the cool moonlight night, his crimson eyes gleaming in the distant crescent hovering high behind the clouds, but Itto's focus was fixed on find you alone.
after taking a deep swig of the heavy beer in his goblet, draining every last drop, he threw it over his shoulder and marched through the street in the general direction of where you had headed, you the whisper of power and strength from the battle field, the ghost of pure flame, his fire tengu.
Itto grinned so wide at the thought of seeing you that his posture staightened and his steps swung wide beneath him, every step booming through the stone ground of Inazuma, his waves of flicked white hair flashing like the moon on the midnight sea, only for his steps to skid to a stop as a small blade pressed to the side of his neck.
"why are you following me, Arataki?" you hissed behind him, voice as cold as the air was. "What do you wa-"
"MY TENGU!! AHAHAHA IT IS YOU!!!" Itto's voice boomed so brightly, you shuddered and blinked, but before you could regain your composure, he'd spun and taken you into his arms, swinging you around as he laughed and eventually set you down. with hsi hands on his hips, the tall, muscular gang leader beamed down at you with all his teeth before saying, "Oh, I'm so happy to see but you really don't make it easy, huh? you sneaky thing, hiding from me all this time."
you nearly hissed as you looked up into his eyes, at those horns that reached for the sky, at the cape of a sleeveless jacket pulled over his taught body. blinking away from all of it, all of him, you snarled, "I could care less about you, let alone take time out of my day to hide from you. I have every reason to cut you down right now."
"But you're not."
"Only because it'll only make more trouble for me with thw Shogunate, not that I don't want to."
"Ah ah ah, you're not so good a liar, my tengu."
"I'm not your anything."
"Pah! Don't look at me like that and act like you didnt see me on Tatarasuna too." Itto challenged.
a heavy frown began pressing itself into your brow as you muttered, "I dont know what you're talking about."
"And it wasnt just then either. There was Fort Mumei when you had your bow, lighting up my lines with some godlike aim, on the south shore of Serei Island with your two burning swords, which were so cool honestly, and.. and also Sangonomiya when you-"
"Enough, Itto! What does it matter that we've seen eachother when our clans have fought countless times over land because you pushed the borders or whatever else?" you interrupted, so sharply it made the tall gang leader blink for a second. "If anything, our fateful meetings, like you like to call them, are all your fault. None of this would be happening if it wasnt for you so it doesn't matter!"
but despite your retort, his smile returned in a heartbeat as he tutted, shook his head then said as calm as ever, "Well, it does matters because however it was caused, it makes us battle buddies now, which means we have to duel."
you couldnt believe how simple this man was. his smile unwavering as he crossed his arms and watched you stare at him, apparently not picking up on the utter confusion that furrowed your eyebrows and left your mouth slightly ajar. "We're what now?"
"Battle buddies." he answered without missing a beat. "when two warriors from opposing sides cross swords in battle more than thrice, it is certain that they are bound to again in a battle of will between two."
"... did you make that up?"
"Yes I did." Itto announced, "and i think its a rather well written haiku, dont you?"
no words could describe how unbelievable he was. yes, you had seen him in all those battles but... who hadnt?
this broad shouldered warrior who laughed in the face of possible death, who swung his hulking weapon with such determination and assuredness that fate seemed to rewrite itself to ensure it struck true, who's will was as unshakable as the power that the Geo vision around his neck imbued him with and remained as permanent as his smile. you stared up at Arataki Itto as the moonlight spilled over the endless streams of his white hair, shone in his scarlet eyes and caught in the gleam of his full smile, and in the end, your mind drew a blank.
"What..." you exhaled, shaking your head as the hollowness of disbelief filled you. "What are you?"
Itto blinked again but chuckled as he answered, "An oni. You know that already, or at least now you do. I mean, these horns make it rather obvious, no?"
"That's not what I'm talking about, I just... you're so... you." the silence that hung then was different to the ones that had passed on the midnight breeze. in the distance, the clattering and laughter of the bar wafted out into the empty street of Inazuma city, a few stray cherry blossom petals floated around you both as you stared into each other's eyes.
"You know..." Itto finally said, his voice dropping as he took a step towards you. "I have a feeling we'll always end up this way."
hardly moving from your shock at him, you rasped, "what do you mean?"
exhaling as he smiled, Itto took a finger and gently tapped it to he spot of skin just below the hollow of your throat, his calloused skin was surprisingly warm despite the chill around you, but not seeming to notice your heart tripping a second, Itto continued in a low, gruff voice, "You.. an immovable force..." then he pressed his finger to his own chest and said, "me... an nstoppable object."
"It's the other way around." you stated without blinking.
"Huh?"
"the... phrase is unstoppable force, immovable object."
"That's what I said."
"No it's not."
"Well it means the same thing." the oni shrugged before continuing calmly, "What I'm saying is... we will always end up like this: crashing into each other like... like how two swords will always clash somewhere in the world. it's that whole opposites interact thing."
"you mean opposites attract."
"thats what i said." Itto grinned before continuing, his eyes gleaming with a pride you'd only seen in glimpses when darting past him on thw battle field. "the power your pyro vision gives you and the strength my geo vision gives me will always bring us together, in battle or not. it's like fate or something. even if we go our seperate ways now, in time we'll find each other again."
"How can you be so sure?"
"I've watched you fight against every single stronghold my men have put up this year, and with our goals, we've put up loads. like loads loads, and you're always there facing me, crossing blades with me. and besides that... we're here now, aren't we? I dont know whether it's because you're tengu and I'm oni but, i think no matter how many times it happens, I'll always be happy to see you."
Your chest tightened at his words, not so much in anger but apprehension. just like all those times before, he was testing a line drawn in the sand, and you didn't know what would happen if he crossed it. so quickly, you asked, hands tightening into fists at your sides, "But... we're meant to be enemies. Why do our coincidental meetings matter so much to you?"
Itto grinned and then chuckled, the red marking on his cheeks stretching as his smile cut into his cheeks, before muttering softly, "Isn't it enough that I like you and I wanna have a chance to get to know you beyond knowing your the head of a rival clan? that I admire strength in all its forms?"
in an instant, the squeezing sensation in your chest softened and bloomed into something slow and warm as you watched the moon flicker in Itto's eyes, peaking out from behind a cloud to pour its fullness over both of you in the silent streets of Inazuma. you couldn't understand him, let alone your own thoughts enough to answer so the silence hung and the cherry scented breeze drifted between your bodies, tying itself there like the red string of fate. and through it all, his bright, devilish grin remain on his face, as unwavering as his will and the power his vision provided him with.
Itto sighed slowly when you didn't answer and placed one hand on his hip while scratching his hair with the other, muttering, "Though, I have to say, if every time we meet is gonna be this cold, I'd rather we make sure we meet in a bar or something. At least we can get at least get a drink then. Would you like that? To get a drink? With me?"
again, silent, you gazed up at the oni leader of the Arataki Gang and suddenly, urged to try and understand the profound and seemingly emptiness of this man's mind, or at least to stop him from rambling on, you sighed, "S-sure..."
"AHA! EXCELLENT!" Itto roared into the night, throwing an arm around your shoulder before leading you back to the bar. "You know I have a friend, Shinobu, and she's so generous. she just offers to cover my tabs whenever me and the gang go out, so I'm certain she wont mind dealing with another couple of drinks for us, ok? Don't worry about it. you can meet everyone and maybe we can plan our duel!"
"I'm not dueling you, Itto."
"But we have to! It's battle buddy law!"
"There's no such thing as-"
"Hey guys!" Itto called as he kicked the bar door open once more and hauled you inside. "My battle buddy doesn't wanna duel!"
and as the members of the Arataki clan erupted in shock and slightly drunken hysteria at their leaders statement, a slow sigh escaped you. overcome by the endless brovado and inner strength of the oni at your side, you allowed yourself to be taken in by the people who made up his clan, not to oppose them in a fight but to drink with them and Itto. part of you was determined to use tbe moment to gather intel, but as you sat with them, somewhere deep within you, you were beginning to feel the warmth of something you hadnt in a while. the longing for someone...
the longing for a friend who understood you so strangely but so very, very well.

You and Sapnap arrive at his house and begin to prepare for the party. You are in the kitchen cooking snacks while he tidies up. As you pull some food from the oven you hear the bell ring.
“I’ll get it!” you hear him shout. You can’t help but smile at the joy in his voice. You hear a chorus of “Hey Bro!”s and “What’s up”s as Dream, George, Bad, Quackity, and Purpled walk in. You pop your head out of the kitchen.
“Hey guys” you say with a warm smile and a wave of your hand.
“Hey y/n! Oh, are you making foo-”
“BESTIE OMG HAI”
“GOGY HEYY”
You run to hug George. He apologizes to Dream for interrupting. Sapnap and Dream are beaming. You and George share a look.
Why are they beaming at us? You both think.
You shake your head a bit as if to clear your thoughts and continue the conversation.
“I did make food Clay,” you say with a smile. He grins. Purpled looks confused as to why he’s so excited about food, and Sap turns to him.
“Y/n makes the best food ever. You’ll see.”
Purpled nods and looks at his phone.
“D’you guys mind if Niki, Jack, Fundy, and Karl come?”
Sapnap nods.
“Sure, why not.” he says with a warm smile.
Bad cuts in. “Can I invite Skeppy then?”
Sap nods. “The more the merrier. Invite whoever you want.”
Ten minute later Niki walks in.
“Hey Niki!” you call, pulling her in for a hug. “Have any other friends with you?”
“No, but I can call them!”
Sapnap shrugs.
“Go ahead”
She calls her friends.
As she is on the phone Jack and Fundy walk in. She silently waves hello, and everyone else greets them.
“Hey Jack! Hey Fundy!” you call, already back in the kitchen making more food.
Skeppy and Karl come in eventually. Most of the people have shown up by now, except Niki’s mysterious friends.
Suddenly five boys walk in the door. The first one in the door is tall, with a beanie and curly brown hair. Behind him is another boy, taller than him, with shoulder length pink hair. And then comes this very tall lanky kid who looks like he wants to die. He has light brown hair. Behind him are two shorter boys with similar shades of dirty blonde hair.
“Wil, Techno, Hi!”
One of the short blondes pipes up “Hello woman. Have I met you before? I’m Tommy.”
The one with the curly hair pushes “Tommy” aside.
“I’m Wilbur, Niki’s friend. She invited Techno and I. Tommy invited himself and his friends.” he rolls his eyes then continues. “Who are you?”
“Oh, I’m y/n. Nice to meet you, Wilbur.”
He’s kinda cute.
Sapnap steps up behind you and puts his arm around your shoulder, pulling you closer to him.
“She’s a friend of mine.” he says, his voice not quite unfriendly but not very kind either.
Why’s he being so protective?
Wilbur continues smiling, seemingly undaunted by Sap’s cold glare. His friend with the pink hair nudges him out of the way to shake your hand. His firm grasp warmed your icy hand. He smiles charmingly.
“I’m Technoblade, the smarter twin. Pleased to meet you.”
You smile at him. Sapnap still rests a hand on your shoulder, but more relaxed now as he talks to George about the upcoming soccer game. You take Sap by the hand and drag him to the kitchen.
“C’mon, you gotta try my cookies.” He smiles a bit, blush dusting his cheeks. You all but shove a cookie in his mouth. He eats it and beams.
“Wow, y/n, these are really good! Everyone, come try these!” he calls into the living room, where everyone else is talking. They head to the kitchen and all try one of the cookies. You decide to start a conversation with Wilbur.
“So Wilbur, what are you into?”
“Me? Well I like to write music.” Tommy cuts in, “And his spotify playlists are poggers!”
You laugh a little.
“Really? Well maybe you could put some music on, it's a little boring right now.”
You smile, and he pulls out his phone and a bluetooth speaker. After a bit he starts playing some music, and everyone enjoys it.
You end up sitting on the couch with Sapnap. You can’t help but notice his thigh pressed closely against yours. He gets a message on his phone, and when he looks at it he starts to frown. You notice.
“Hey,” you say softly, “is everything okay?”
He nods a bit, then shakes his head no.
“Can I help?”
“Not quite. It's- this girl. She asked me to homecoming.”
“Oh. Is that a problem?”
“Well- I don’t like her-not like that. But I don’t want to hurt her feelings.”
He looks perplexed, and you can’t help but think he looks adorable.
Maybe ask him to go with you?
“Well, tell her you’re already going with someone.”
“But I’m not…”
“Go with me then.” you shrug, as if that wasn’t the very thing he had been dreaming about.
“Really? You don’t already have a date?”
“This junior asked me, but I turned him down.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah, why not?”
“Okay then.” he says with a warm smile.
But are we going as friends or as a date? He wonders. He looks at the time then stands up. You frown a bit at his warmth leaving your side.
“Hey folks, it’s getting a bit late, so you should probably head out.”
Everyone gathers their stuff and finds a ride, and you realize you are stuck without a ride to your house, which is 45 minutes away on a road you hate.
Oh dear. And Niki won’t be able to take me, she got a ride with Purpled.
You turn to Sapnap at the same time he turns to you.
“How are you getting home?”
“I- I don’t know.”
He thinks for a moment, then comes up with an idea.
“You might as well stay then.”
“Oh, okay” you nod. This should work. Then you look at your shirt.
This is kind of a nice shirt, and I don’t want to mess it up.
“D’you think I could borrow a sweatshirt? I don’t want to wrinkle this one.”
He nods, and motions for you to follow him upstairs. He hands you a sweatshirt and points you to the bathroom. You change into his sweatshirt. It is so long it covers your shorts and makes it look like you’re wearing nothing but the sweatshirt. When you come back in his room he swallows dryly
Holy fuck. She looks good in that.
He points to his bed.
“You take the bed, I’ll take the couch.”
You frown and shake your head.
“No way are you taking the couch. You’re the injured one here.”
He laughs a bit, and his mom calls from down the hall.
“Just share the bed!” she yells.
You and Sapnap both shrug.
“I have some editing to do, so you can do whatever.”
“Editing? For what?”
“Oh.” he says, scratching his head. “I have a youtube channel.”
“Really? What’s it called?”
“Uh, Sapnap”
“Huh. Cool.”
You would have thought I would know about this, but i guess it never came up.
You lay on his bed and scroll through your phone for a while as he edits his video. Finally he yawns and turns around.
“I’m gonna sleep now.”
“Finally” you fake complain.
He looks concerned.
“Sorry y/n, was I keeping you up?”
“No it's fine, I was joking.”
He goes back to smiling and crawls in bed.
You end up falling asleep before he does, and just as he begins to drift off you jolt awake, cold sweat covering your body.
“Y/N? Are you alright?”
You pull your knees up to your chest and rock back and forth.
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. Breathe. You’re okay. You're safe.
He tentatively rests a hand on your knee. He can feel you shaking, and pulls you to his chest, resting his cheek on your hair.
“Hey” he mumbles, arms wrapped around you protectively, “shhhhh. I got you. It's okay. You’re safe.” He continues reassuring you, talking quietly and calmly. You fall back asleep in his arms, dreaming peacefully. He falls asleep to the rhythm of your breathing, steadied by his comforting presence.

Ninety days. It is Bjorn's 90th day today and my body seem to have an internal alarm. Right after midnight, I started crying for no reason. I thought about Bjorn and checked the date. 90 days since I lost my son. A huge wave of grief just hit me. So today, I write to honor him by honoring those I am most grateful for.
Today I honor those who held my hand. Those who are not related to us by blood but have become family. And I honor those who gave me a reason to get up everyday and function. These people have stayed with me in my dark place and waited for me to come out and see the light again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So in no particular order here they are.
Doogie, my bestfriend in HS. The first to come for me. The one who saw me first after that miscarriage. And the first in a lot of things in my life. Thank you for the beautiful words, for the sage, for showing me how to honor my son, for loving me when I truly felt unworthy and unlovable. For holding me when I felt like I am breaking apart. I cry until now when I think about that moment you walked into the hospital room. I thought, it has started. People seeing me at my lowest, at my most broken, it has become real... losing Bjorn. That you were there to mourn with me. And I could not have survived it if it was anyone else. I am glad it was you who came to me first. I am happy it was you who showed up and shared that first few quiet moments after that loss. I wouldn't want it any other way.
Darlene and Kento. Both have worked for me since Arkitekto Kolab days and they have been my biggest supporters in EVERYTHING. They have seen me fail and get back up, lose both my parents, and now Bjorn too. Darlene cries whenever I cried and of all my work babies I think it is she who has cried with me the most. Kento, whom I have loved too as my own, spends most of his time comforting me and Darlene. A true gentleman and friend. They were one of the few who I thought to call first when I lost Bjorn. And I did. Thank you Dardar and Kento for everything you have done for me and more.
Monique took care of me when I was hurting, she would show up during the oddest hours just so she can sit with me. And she has been my comfort blanket through all of this. Crying too when I cry, happy when she sees me happy. This girl has a good heart and I would want to see her truly happy because she deserves it so much. Thank you for being with me and sitting with me in the hospital, visiting Bjorn, or just trying to stay alive. I am truly blessed to have you in my life, Niq.
Jam who is on top of my list is not in the photos (for some reason, I don't have a photo of her). She is a steady and true friend. She has her own struggles with friendships but she did not let that stop her from giving and being a true friend to me. Jam, you have no idea how lucky people are to have you. And I am blessed too because you chose to stick around in my life. You came back for me and picked me up when I couldn't. You sat with me and ate peanuts with me in the hospital because it was the only human thing I can think of doing at that time. Yet, no matter how painful it was to hear me talk or see me in my darkness, you sat right there and chose to be with me.
Myk, you moron, leaving me! What am I going to do without you? Well, for a year at least. I tried my best to hide from you after the miscarriage because I thought I have told you sad stories enough. But you came with your love anyway. Accepting all my decisions, processing with me (even if I felt I did not need it), and loving me all the same even if I was being stubborn. I love you, you know that right? I am glad I have you. Please come back soon because who else would rescue me if I get stuck somewhere?
Diane (and Aiys - who is not in the photos) - my favorite brats in the whole world! Our friendship does not need to always have presence. I honestly thought I have lost you guys, but you reached out and I felt so relieved. I have lost friends along with losing my parents and Bjorn. Maybe because I secluded myself so much, maybe because it felt like I can't love anymore, or maybe because I did not want to lose anyone anymore. But in true brat fashion, you guys just snapped yourselves back in and I am all the better for it. I love you guys, immensely.
This kid volunteered to be my son. Roj. And my coach said Roj is in Bjorn's name inverted. And the more I think about it, the more I am glad I found my son in him. Roj is not a replacement, although admittedly, it was easy to see him as so. A few weeks after the miscarriage he came to me and said: "Can you be my mommy?" And boy did I cry. I agreed, of course. Who wouldn't? You see, this boy came out as bisexual during our LEAP journey and I over the weeks I found him to be a true gentleman, a hardworking kid, and a really good friend to all. I felt honored he even asked me to be his mommy. Moreover, I thought, if Bjorn came to be, I would want him to grow up and be like this boy. Thank you Rorow for calling me your mom. I needed that, it did help me get up. I had someone who was counting on me to get up and make something of myself. But more than being a son, you have been a great addition to my family. I can't wait for King and your sisters to finally meet you.
Vince and AJ. The brother and the Kuya. Vince started my LEAP journey with me and I will forever be grateful because if I wasn't LEAPing, I would have done horrible things to myself during the miscarriage. He brought me to people who saw the best in me in my worst. AJ has been with me since day 1 of grieving, he saw how broken I was even before I did and volunteered to sit with me through it all. These 2 are my most constant cheerleaders. Always rooting for me no matter what. Thank you guys, I never had kuyas but you two have been more than that to me. You guys saved me from myself. For that, I am eternally grateful.
Lionheart, Kelly, Pau, Mommy J, Lawrence the fallout (haha), Buddy Beng, and of course, my Coach, whom I love very dearly. Where do I even start? Shale, you are one hell of a woman. I don't know how you carried all of us to the finish line but you did. I love you guys with all of my heart. Thank you for loving the good, the bad, and the ugly in me.
My other Undaunted constants: Rai, Tim, Jeca, Ken, and Mau. Solid support. Grabe. Ang iyak ko parang hindi na maubos-ubos. And here I am speaking tagalog because of you lot. How do I even begin to thank each one of you? We had our crazy nights, and on my loneliest, andyan pa rin kayo. Mau, of course, is in this list because he is awesome. I am here for you guys, no matter what. In the very short time we have known each other, we have been in our most vulnerable, so bawal na unfriend sa atin. We know our worst secrets already! Hahaha
SPAM. I will never forget how you all gathered to just sit and have a drink with me. You all shared painful memories of your past when I clammed up and refused to talk for fear of ugly-crying in front all of you. But you talked anyway. It took all of my strength not to cry that night. So much so that I just burst into tears the moment I got home. I have never truly told you guys personally how I appreciate every single one of you. And I promise to take care of this friendship. I love you guys immensely. Hard to believe, but I really do. What started out as professional connection has become a full-blown friendship that I cannot undo and I refuse to undo. You guys are all blessings to me. I would have stopped being an architect, it is easy to just give up, but you guys are such a great support group, I don't know what I would do without you lot. Thank you, SPAM. I will always always always be grateful for you guys.
Chess and Kevin. My dynamic duo. Thank you for visiting me at home and allowing me to pour my heart out. Shen and Audie were there two. My A+KO babies just barged right back into my life unannounced when I was going through the toughest time in my life. I thought I didn't need it, but I am thankful now that you did. It reminds me to keep on doing good no matter how much I get hurt. Good intentions always sparks another. And I am glad I sparked something in you guys. When I needed to be reminded, you guys came at the right time.
Buck (who isn't in the photo), thank you for allowing me to grieve and go on my own. I owe you a lot. You will always be a brother to me.
And the other people in my life I failed to mention or post photo of bec of the 10-photo limit: Ate Jaqi, Doj, Shailoe, Jimbo, Jorge, Steffi, Karen, John, Miljo, Aya, Sheila, DJ, Yssa, Arvin, Yen, Kooks, & the arki thesis kids Jaje, Joseph, Apollo, Karl, & Alexa. THANK YOU. The old constant friend, the unexpected friend, the coaches, the work kids, the extended work kids, the mentees, the young architect hopefuls who seem to put so much hope in me... You guys have given me little sparks of hope everyday, giving me purpose to get up, reminding me of my good, helping me accept my not-so-good, and believing that I can be bigger than myself.
Thank you for sharing my grief and my sorrow. I am rebuilding myself everyday, and doing that has been made a little bit easier because you all exist in my life.

Short Biography of MUJIBUR
The Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman (1920-1975) is the architect of independent Bangladesh.
Bangabandhu was born on 17 March 1920 in the village Tungipara under the gopalganj Sub-division (currently district) in the district of Faridpur. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's father, Sheikh Lutfar Rahman, was a serestadar in the civil court of Gopalganj. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman passed his matriculation from Gopalganj Missionary School in 1942, IA (Twelfth Grade) from Islamia College, Calcutta in 1944 and BA from the same College in 1947. In 1946, he was elected general secretary of the Islamia College Students Union. He was an activist of the Bengal Provincial Muslim League and a member of the All-India Muslim League Council from 1943 onwards.
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was a founding member of the East Pakistan Muslim Students League (est. 1948), one of the founding joint secretaries of the East Pakistan Awami Muslim League (est. 1949), general secretary of the awami league (1953-1966), president of the Awami League (1966-1974), president of Bangladesh (in absentia from 26 March 1971 to 11 January 1972), prime minister of Bangladesh (1972-24 January1975), president of Bangladesh (25 January 1975-15 August 1975).
As an activist he had been a supporter of the Suhrawardhy-Hashim faction of the Muslim League. During the 1946 general elections, the Muslim League selected him for electioneering in Faridpur district.
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was one of the principal organisers behind the formation of the East Pakistan Muslim Students League (est. 1948). After partition (1947), he got himself admitted into the University of Dhaka to study law but was unable to complete it, because, he was expelled from the University in early 1949 on charge of "inciting the fourth-class employees" in their agitation against the University's indifference towards their legitimate demands.
Sheikh Mujib's active political career began with his election to one of the posts of joint secretaries of the East Pakistan Awami Muslim League (1949). As a political prisoner, he was then interned in Faridpur jail. In 1953, Sheikh Mujib was elected general secretary of the East Pakistan Awami Muslim League, a post that he held until 1966 when he became president of the party. Like his political mentor Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy, Mujib also underscored the importance of party organisation and management. To organise the party, he resigned from the Cabinet of Ataur Rahman Khan (1956-58) and devoted himself to the task of taking the party to grassroots level. A charismatic organiser, Sheikh Mujib had established his firm control over the party. He had the mettle to revive the Awami League in spite of the fact that his political guru, HS Suhrawardy, was in favour of keeping political parties defunct and work under the political amalgam called National Democratic Front.
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman entered parliamentary politics first in 1954 through his election as a member of the East Bengal Legislative Assembly on the United Front ticket. He was also a member of the Pakistan Second Constituent Assembly-cum-Legislature (1955-1958).
Sheikh Mujib was a pragmatic politician. In the Pakistan state, he appeared as the undaunted advocate of the Bengali interests from the start. He was among the first language prisoners. However, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman grew in political eminence in the early 1960s. Through his organising ability Mujib was able to salvage the Awami League from a series of defections and exit of various factions from the mainstream party. He reorganised the Awami League and put it on a firm foundation. In 1966, he announced his famous six-point programme, calling it 'Our [Bengalis'] Charter of Survival', which aimed at self-rule for East Pakistan. Struck sharp at the roots of West Pakistani dominance, the six-point programme at once drew the attention of the nation. Though conservative elements of all political parties looked at it with consternation, it instantaneously stirred the younger generation, particularly the students, youth and working classes.
Disturbed by the political views of Sheikh Mujib, the Ayub regime put him behind bars. A sedition case, known as Agartala Conspiracy Case, was brought against him. It may be noted that during most of the period of the Ayub regime, he was in jail, first from 1958 to 1961 and then from 1966 to early 1969. During the second term in jail, his charisma grew so much that a mass uprising took place in his favour in early 1969 and Ayub administration was compelled to release him on 22 February 1969 unconditionally.
On the following day of his release, the Sarbadaliya Chhatra Sangram Parishad (All Parties Students Action Committee) organised a mass reception to him at Ramna Racecourse (now, Suhrawardy Uddyan) and accorded him the title 'Bangabandhu' (Friend of the Bengalis). In him they saw a true leader who suffered jail terms for about twelve years during the 23 years of Pakistani rule. Twelve years in jail and ten years under close surveillance, Pakistan, to Sheikh Mujib, indeed proved to be more a prison than a free homeland.
The general elections of December 1970 made Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman the sole spokesman of East Pakistan. The people gave him the absolute mandate in favour of his six-point doctrine. Now it was his turn to implement it. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib was so serious about the six-point that on 3 January 1971, he held a solemn ceremony at Ramna Race Course with all the East Pakistan representatives and took an oath never to deviate from the six-point idea when framing the constitution for Pakistan.
Bangabandhu's most uncompromising stand on the six-point programme led ZA Bhutto and Yahya's military junta to take a stringent view. Instead of allowing him to form the government, the junta resolved to undo the results of the elections. President Yahya Khan cancelled unilaterally the National Assembly meet Dhaka scheduled to be held on 3 March 1971. The announcement triggered off the death-knell of Pakistan. Bangabandhu called an all-out non-cooperation movement in East Pakistan. The whole province supported the non-cooperation movement. During the course of non-cooperation (2-25 March 1971) the entire civil authorities in East Pakistan came under the control and directives of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, himself becoming the de facto head of government of the province.
During this time, on 7 March Mujib made a historic address at a mammoth gathering at the Race Course which marked a turning point in the history of the Bengali nation. In his address Mujib made specific charges against the Martial Law authorities which failed to transfer power to the elected representatives. At the end of his speech, he made a clarion call, saying: "Build forts in each homestead. You must resist the Pakistani enemy with whatever you have in hand..Remember, we have given a lot of blood, a lot more blood we shall give if need be, but we shall liberate the people of this country, Insha Allah [ie, if God blessed]..The struggle this time is the struggle for our emancipation; the struggle this time is the struggle for independence."
Meanwhile, General Yahya Khan and other leaders from West Pakistan came to Dhaka on 15 March to start a dialogue with Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib and his party. The dialogue began on the following day and continued intermittently down to 25 March morning. During the period, non-cooperation and hartals continued relentlessly. Students and leaders of various political parties had been declaring independence from March 2 and the spree continued down to 25 March. At mid-night of 25 March 1971, the Pakistan army launched its brutal crackdown in Dhaka. Sheikh Mujib was arrested and kept confined at Dhaka Cantonment until he was lifted to West Pakistan for facing trial for sedition and inciting insurrection.
Although during the War of Liberation begun in the wake of the 25 March army crackdown Bangabandhu had been a prisoner in the hands of Pakistan, he was made, in absentia, the President of the provisional government, called the Mujibnagar Government, formed on 10 April 1971 by the people's representatives to head the Liberation War. He was also made the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. Throughout the period of the War of Liberation, Sheikh Mujib's charisma worked as the source of national unity and strength. After the liberation of Bangladesh on 16 December 1971 from Pakistani occupation, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was released from Pakistan jail and via London he arrived in Dhaka on 10 January 1972.
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman headed the first government of the post-liberation Bangladesh for a period of three years and a half. Starting from scratch his government had to deal with the countless problems of a war ravaged country. Restoring law and order, rehabilating the mukhtijodhas, restoring the ruptured communication system, and, most importantly, feeding the hungry millions and many other problems bedeviled his administration. Because of his charismatic leadership Bangladesh gained recognition from the international community including the United Nations.
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was assassinated by a group of disgruntled army officials on August 15, 1975 along with most of his family members excepting for his two daughters who had been staying abroad at that time. Bangabandhu’s eldest daughter, Sheikh Hasina, is the current Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
