#horizontober2023 #horizon zero dawn #hzd #aloy #thunderjaw #hzd cauldron zeta #hzd pc #v close to not managing this one lol #'machines woven out of light' was what i thought about when i saw this prompt #but since i love doing cauldrons i didn't have a save file i could use bc i'd completed them in all my saves :( #then i remembered the fact that you get approx 3 million save slots on pc (compared to playstation) #and dug through my files to find one where i hadn't done zeta yet - luckily i had success #i'm not sure i'm really happy with the shot? it's... ok... #just sorta boring #i think i could have made it more interesting if i had a save in hfw - for the future perhaps #oh i did discover something in photomode on pc - if you turn the camera away from the thunderjaw #the light effect/lens flare on the cauldron arm disappears #i was trying to get the arm lit up and was using the weapon wheel to time it correctly #and then i would set up the shot (making aloy look at camera) and turn back to the thunderjaw and the light was gone #kinda weird and idk if it's the same on console?

Cauldron Zeta.

I'd forgotten how short this one was. It's just find the entrance, go through a couple tunnels and then - bam! - you're at the core. No other machines to fight (unless you count those stalkers outside). No large rooms to explore. No climbing.

I was slightly disappointed until I saw the thunderjaw. He pretty.

#I mean i don't know what i was expecting when the entrance was being watched by GODDAMN STALKERS #and then i was like hey i'm not finding any enemies? and then i got to the room that would normally take like 15 minutes to find #and i was like AW SWEET I AM THE MASTER I KNEW THIS WOULD BE A QUICK CAULDRON <3 #then i saw the thunderjawbreaker (that's the english name right?) and i sorta #peed my pants. mentally of course #gods it took me SO LONG TO BEAT IT AND SO MANY TRIES I'M EMBARRASSED #and it wasn't my weapons what got it but my skills. Had to shoot down its blaster things to use them against it OTL #it was hilarious because it didn't occur to me until like the fourth attempt and first time i did it i was screeching and in panic the whole #time so i was really just *HURRIEDLY GRABS THE BLASTER* *SHRIEKS* *TURNS AROUND AND STARTS SHOOTING AT THE SAME TIME #WHILE STILL SHRIEKING* *MISSES LIKE 5 HITS BECAUSE I'M NOT EVEN SEEING I'M IN PANIC PLEASE HELP PLEASE STOP STOOOOOOOOOOOOOP' #so i wasted the blaster's ammo lol. So Icouldn't beat it OTL #but the next round WAS MY ROUND BABY I WAS LIKE AH NO NO /FUCK YOU/ NOW I'M GONNA SEE WHERE I'M SHOOTING #I ALREADY FACED DEATH. LIKE FOUR TIMES. I AIN'T SCARED NO MORE YOU TINY LITTLE- FU CK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU #and I totally AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACED IT AYE KABOOM #and honestly the rewards? so worth it!
