man in relation to that last post, and its not really related to this blog outside of it but its weighing on my mind

ive seen two things lately about audiences and content creators, specifically those of the Edgy kind. And, as a disclaimer, i am both LGBT and mixed race and oh, also disabled, and i am not saying “yes their content is offensive But you should care about them more” like ofc im gonna care more about the people who are hurt by the spreading of harmful shit but. anyway

whats been on my mind is the fact that these creators create, with all their edginess and their discarding of feelings for Facts and whatnot forms these audiences that, even if mild in their reactions, have and hold no place for feelings, and people who they disagree with. Even the ones who just have “Comedic” content thats laughing at minorities and whatnot, it breeds things in the audience - and attracts peole who’re already infected by it - that focus on laughing and making fun of people and tearing people down who they just mildly disagree with. We all knew that, but specifically whats weighing on my mind is that........... When you do that, theres no backing down. If you realise youve been wrong somewhere and the people youre attacking have been right, if you realise you dont want to make this content anymore, if you realise you’re tired or stressed, or the environment youve created has gotten too toxic, how are you going to back down? People look to you for their vicious entertainment, people look to you for things to tear apart however lightly, to Roast or to offend or to seriously hurt, and if you arent providing fresh bodies to that audience, theyll take it from you. You have to either be sure when you go into creating edgy content that youll be doing this for the rest of your life, or youre ok with being the subject of what youre inflicting on others when you stop. That, or you have to hope to god that your audience gets bored of you before you call it quits

like...... It all boils down to this. Edginess attracts two main kinds of people, people who are clueless about the harm theyre doing and looking to parrot others/who want to make people uncomfortable or upset/who want to make people feel like they feel, thats one category, and the other main category is genuinely fucked up people who like to see the hurt and the offence it causes, who want women/other minorities to be uncomfortable at best or unwelcome or feel in danger at worst, people who show through their humour that theyre willing to act in ways that hurt people for fun. The first category, people who dont get the harm it causes and just want to shock people (which, as a person clueless to microaggressions and racism and why things actually offend people could either be just surprise Or serious harm they label as shock), theyre clueless about the power youre breeding in them and the cluelessness, but the second group of people are actively harmful. Either way, when you finally need your audience to be understanding, when you need to post your “my mental health is going downhill and i cant ignore it anymore” video or post, youre stuck with these people, and obviously others outside those categories, but youre stuck with them. The people who are willing to beat down already beaten down minorities? Who reduce everyone to a set of stereotypes and if they disagree with any quality you have youre their target? Who think doxxing and swatting are funny, who think harrassment and death threats are just edgy and, well, you know edgy is totally fine right?? Edgy is good right?? what are you going to do?

Maybe when youre in your hour of need your audience will have a change of heart, but if you attract an audience who follow you for and approve of your disregard for peoples needs, who make fun of and attact people saying they need help (”i suffer at the hands of oppression” “im disabled” “im a targeted minority” “ive suffered from harassment” etc) what do you think theyre going to do to you when you dont want to play the game anymore?

Like theres a leap in logic here between being an edgy content creator and definitely reaching a point where you wont do it anymore. Yes, maybe youll be edgy for the rest of your life....... But as someone who was an edgy teenager slinging around slurs constantly and racist and homophobic and transphobic shit...... The end to that was the singular logical conclusion for me as someone trying to be a good person. When you actually learn about these things, or when you start to live it as an lgbt person or you reconnect with your nonwhite half, or you have a family member who is assaulted, or a friend who finally confesses their online harassment and the severe damage its done to them, and you have an audience waiting for you to tell them who to laugh at/treat like shit if they want to because well, theyre wrong and stupid arent they, why should anyone treat them well - thats the conclusion a lot of these people take from seeing people be made the butt of jokes.......... What are you going to do?

Ive always tried to make this blog a mentally and emotionally safe place. Ive made mistakes, but ive always tried to own up to them and learn from. Like, yeah, theres been some racist shit on this blog before, probably some transphobic shit too, ive had this blog since i just turned 17 in dec. 2013....... Its important for my followers that i cultivate a place that is good for them, that isnt stressful, that focuses on good content or. me having fun in video games lmao. and why is that good? well, because i want to. Its not necessarily the right thing to do nor the wrong thing to do, it just Is morally. But when it comes to cultivating an audience based on constantly shocking people, and making people uncomfortable, and making innocent people scared to exist or ashamed of their existence or hurt because theyre reminded that what they are is disgusting to people like you, whether you mean it or not? Thats where I feel things like this become a moral choice. Like, first of all, even if youre doing it jokingly, if youre having fun pretending to throw punches and kicks even if the point is to laugh at you, you run the risk of people getting hit. Thats why we dont do that in public spaces. When youre jokingly throwing metaphorical punches even if the joke is that youre being an arse purposely, youre in that corridor, and the traffic in that corridor is every single person that sees your post, possibly hundreds, possibly thousands, and so the chance that youre going to hit people - many people - is huge. But to get back to whats on my mind, even if you dont give a shit about all the people you hit accidentally or on purpose, when you train an audience to expect you to feed them meat, when you stop feeding them meat theyll still be looking at you, and if theyre hungry enough - entitled enough, angry enough, uncaring enough, tired of life and other people enough, unknowing enough, ready enough to bring the fight to other people - theyre going to pick at you if not take chunks off you if not tear you to shreds. When you call people who think shock humour and hurting other people is acceptable, well, thats what youve done right?

You dont need to make a blog like mine thats purpose is to be safe. You dont need to actively try to make sure people feel like they fit in with your content, you dont need to create a space for other people to enjoy at all, maybe you just wanna do what makes you laugh. But the less space we hold for people to hurt people the less people are going to get hurt, shocker i know, but also the less harmful people’s anger we are unknowingly feeding, and the less fucking clueless kids who are going to grow up parroting things theyve heard and never understood, that truly evil people understand, and the less content creators in the future we’re going to have to dig out of the hole they back themselves into

jun is the so-called fiery leader of ace (also lead dancer and lead vocal) but is honestly just a giant dork and a sweetheart. hes the type of guy who you scream at for being dumb and call him an idiot but thats your weird way of expressing your undying love for him?? ask literally any jun stan, they’ll say they hate him. hate him for being so PERFECT like a fucking DISNEY PRINCE he’s the designated prince of the group you know theres always that one member and hes just so LOVEABLE and stupid and skjdakhkjs he fuckign dropped his cake on his birthday when do your faves ever. dad of the group, probably lost the maknaes in the shopping mall about 3 times already. talks a lot, hates aegyo, his members might be planning on sacrificing him to satan? he does on idol class with chan every…i think its wednesday and fans vote who gets punishments n stuff and jun loses every damn time i think hes losing his faith in choice lmao. #saveleaderjun

BUT HES ALSO A SWEET NOODLE HJKSHJKS oH and did you know that before he joined a.c.e he had no experience in dancing whatsoever and in a year and a half, he caught up with the other four members that have been dancing since they were kids?? I STAN TALENT YALL you’d literally never be able to guess that bc all of them are like on an equal dance level its insane

his stage name is wow, but its hard to take seriously so the fandom just calls him sehyoon lmfao. it used to be seyoon but when he went on mixnine, he revealed sehyoon was the official romanization so here we are lmao. even if your bias isn’t sehyoon…it’s sehyoon. he’s just that guy ya feel me?? anyways sehyoon is a relatively quiet and reserved guy, but his members really pull out the dork in him, i love it so much?? he doesn’t talk much but when he does all of a.c.e directs their full attention to him to listen, its really sweet, hes pretty awkward with people but you can tell he just feels so safe and comfortable with ace it honestly warms my heart. he’s the main rapper and main dancer, but!! our multitalented man is also a vocalist. yes, you heard, me, the main rapper can sing, and really well at that. (if you scroll up back to the flashlight and dont recall covers, you can see more of his voice.)

gets the least lines, but not by much. although hearing his singing voice in their actual songs has happened like with 2 lines?? so idk man im just waiting for their ballad song that theyre apparently doing for their third song, god im so ready. i love his voice a lot, damn.

he’s also like reeeeeeeeeally gay for jason…the entire fandom ships it and they even ship it themselves. wowson, the otp of ace, they honestly just cant keep their hands off eachother??? i know a friend who struggled to tell apart jun and jason so she just looked at who sehyoon was standing next to and instantly knew it was jason. IT WAS ALL HIS IDEA. EVERY. SINGLE. PART. this is the same kid who everyone on the show knew as the shy, quiet, handsome boy. but then.

jason is his stage name that he chose for himself but his real name is byeongkwan, its another case of an idol having a stage name and nobody calling them by it?? i mean most new choice call him jason and i personally switch between the two but most choice seem to call him byeongkwan or bk if theyre extra lazy lmao. memers call him byonk sometimes.

jason is the weird child of the group and we all love him…he’s the second lil ball of sunshine and part ½ of the maknae line. he’s often found clinging to sehyoon or literally any of the members bc he’s an affectionate son who loves cuddles okay?? p r o t e c t h i m.

he’s also the lead everything. yeah thats really not fair but jason is op ok?? singing, rapping, dancing, visual, like sehyoon he’s the full package, i can hardly call them the rap line they’re just the op line t b h. triple threats.

INTRODUCING OUR CHANSHINE, MAIN VOCAL OF ACE, CUTIE MAKNAE CHAN!!!! he always introduces himself as a.c.e’s main vocal cutie maknae chan, its his iconic line and it suits him so well like LOOK AT HIM ISNT HE JUST A FUCKING RAY OF SUNSHINE WHAT A PURE CHILD I MUST PROTECC he’s literally the happy virus y’all AND ACE KNOWS IT TOO heres this one time where donghun even said that looking at chan cheers him up. certified sunshines only, everyone. also watch that whole video its long but its worth your time.

5am thoughts: theory: Story Of Light

is it called the Story of Light because its Shinee telling us and the whole entire world that they will no longer grief in sadness and that they've moved on and accepted what has happened? I'm sure we all know Shinee may still be sad (and maybe more than that) but what if this whole album is telling us that shinee, that all the members, Minho, Onew, Key, and Taemin are ready to have a new beginning? Like, they're ready to let all the sadness go and accept what has happened and that they will continue to work and grow.

What if You&I was about them talking about Jonghyun? Like, what if this song is about them trying to talk to Jonghyun? And theyre all trying to tell him that its hard when he's gone like they dont know what to do. "I’m the only one hurting, I may look fine I’m not easy, my feelings aren’t for decoration" And like they're all reminiscing their memories with him. All those good times that they're not ready to let go of. "A handful of memories, I laugh and remember every day" (okay the lyrics arent in order but JJJJust lemme finish and fyi, its gonna be a lOoong one). "There are countless stars in my heart, there’s one star that shines painfully I don’t want to grab it but I don’t want it to go out" okay in this part i think they maybe talking about Jonghyun. Maybe the stars represent people and "theres one star that shines painfully" might be Jonghyun. A star... someone really special to them... is hurting deep inside. Maybe Shinee is trying to tell us that although a celebrity or ANY person in general who may seem happy in front of the cameras or may seem happy in the outside in general is actually in deep pain inside. Dealing with self doubt, depression and all that and we just dont know :( "The things I can’t throw away make me smile" this is kinda self explanatory. Jonghyun, someone they love, someone they deeply cherish, someone they can't simply just let go of, someone who can always make them smile. You know? "I know that you’re being honest when you wish me well I’ll let you go easy, don’t think that you’re stepping on me" this is kinda hard to explain haha ahm.. maybe as time passes by, Jonghyun's absence is telling them to let go and move on and maybe they're mad with what he did? I DONT KNOW I DONT MEAN IT LIKE THAT! like mad, like?? how do i explain?? like maybe frustrated?? thats the best word i can think of right now riwjkrs they're frustrated but theyre not gonna blame it on him. like the good friends and brothers they are they will let it go easily.. UGH do i make sense? anyway. "I’ve let myself go to the wind and the rain that’s falling cooly But my feelings aren’t for decoration" okay so this is the part theyve told themselves that they really need yo accept what has happened. and maybe "my feelings arent for decoration" means that whatever they are feeling and whatever they are going through shouldnt be joked about in social media since its a serious matter and well ive seen some haters and some "new kpop fans" talk shit about this issue and honestly 😤 it makes me want to slap a bitch

We don't always know what happens when we turn around. We don't always know when they're hurting. It's actually pretty easy to lie and fake a smile now a days so we always have to be careful with our loved ones. we dont always know what they're dealing with and one wrong move can cause a bomb to explode.

Maybe theyre telling us that behind the scenes, theyre also suffering with personal or family issues. like every other person, celebrities have problems that they deal with too. they also have feelings. maybe on stage theyre smiling and having so much fun but backstage, theyre suffering? they cant breathe, they're overworked, theyre tired. sometimes they're forced to do things. Honestly for me, the kpop industry is so pressuring. you have to be this or that and if you cant you get criticized for it.

okay this part is like giving someone a hug before they leave for their flight. Like even when hes gone hes not alone and shinee is not alone. like theyre always together. theyll always be together. literally,for me anway, the whole song is about how theyll always be there for each other. even when the other is far away, it will never stop them from what they are doing. and thats why i love Shinee so much💓

this is when they realize that: nothing is going bad. everything is going just fine and everything is great. maybe they havent fully recovered yet but all those depression and pain is finally gone and theyre happy. the first 2 lines is probably them asking themsleves, why didnt we do this earlier? they finally followed what their heart wanted instead of being trapped in their own mind and they finally can breathe again. they feel free and loose. they dont feel the heavy chains hanging on their shoulder anymore !

Theyre remembering Jonghyun more with their happy memories. How his existence highlighted mostly everything in their past. Jonghyun was such a big part of their lives and even if he was gone, they were still happy that he was able to be part of their lives and they were thankful to be a part of his.

What I know about Chinchillas

Chinchillas, that creature that God made when he was trying to make an original species and mixed a Rabbit and a Squirrel, but to make it more special, he gave them the softest fur in the world.

Unfortunately, Chinchillas are usually described as “low mainteinance” pets, along with rabbits, hamsters, mice, rats and the like just because they are small and live in cages.

While, in reality, I’d categorize as “medium maintenance” pets. I mean, you dont have to wake up at 8am to give them a walk or be worried they are scratching your couch or plotting to murder you while you sleep, but they are far from boring and require a lot more of care than “refill water and food bowls once every week, clean cage once it starts to smell” Plus, they live for 10 years or more. So you’d better have that in mind before getting one.

For starters, the cage needs to be huge. More tall than wide, because they are jumpy and like to have many stories within their cage. This is because they are native to the Andes, in South America. So youd better have that in mind when giving them their cage and making its setup. Wich should be... A lot of stories, their food bowl, hay rack, water bottle, and a couple of hiding holes and small houses. From there, you can expand it as much as you want. Put some bridges! More platforms and perches! Boxes! Etc. Basically, if its non-toxic and cant give them problems when ingested, go for it. It’ll make a good enrichment. Or theyll give it a good 2 second sniff and forget about it forever.

And Wood. Cardboard. But most importantly; wood. Your cage can’t be finished without some good chews. It’s not just because they chew the cage bars and wont let you sleep. But they are rodents, that means their teeth are always growing, and if they cant chew they’d die. And i dont mean in they “#omg #im dead” kinda way. Since their teeth are always growing, they’ll eventually won’t be able to close their mouth and if they manage to survive for longer, their teeth can reach their skulls and break in to the eyes and brain.

Speaking of teeth, they have to be yellow-brownish, and no, they are not dirty, don’t worry about that. All rodents have colured teeth.

And speaking of body parts. Male chinchillas have extremely long penis. And they clean it regularly, they succ their own dik. All the way to the bottom. So unless you cant really explain your innocent child what a Penis is, don’t get a Male. Males may get hair rings in their peens, that are... well, hair rings around it, they are painful and very very bad, so if you notice anything wrong with the downparts of your Chin, take a look at it.

They also do better in pairs or in small herds of 3-4 individuals, but if you dont have a life and you have all the time in the world to try fill the social void of your chinchilla, you can try. But yeah, try to keep at least two in the same cage. Just dont introduce a new chinchilla to the one you have without a proper introduction or they’ll fight eachother. I am not experienced with introductions, but I am sure you can find a good guide or ask someone who has experience.

You want a cuddly pet? Chinchillas are not for you. They tolerate some soft petting, and love cheek and neck scritches, but they generally dont like to be held of hugged.

Since chinchillas are pretty energetic, they need to get out of their cage at least 30 minutes every day, personally, I spend from 30 minutes to 1 hour and a half every day with my Chin

Make sure the room is Chinchilla-proofed. And when you think you have it, check again.

These lil shits will jump, scutter and try to make trouble. They chew wires, leather purses, footwear, foam, paper, including wallpaper, cardboard, sometimes plastic and metal, too. I caught mine chewing the walls stucco after he ripped some of the wallpaper off. They are small, and most of their mass is fur, so they can fit in most holes and spaces in your room. Dont be deceived. Their fluff lies.

On top of that they will use any and everything to get to the higher ends of the room. Nice shelf you have there, mind if I jump on your shoulder, then on to your desk and THEN parkour my way to it in less than 2 seconds?

What about the bathroom? you ask. Be prepared for them to take a stroll on your sink and in to you bathtub or shower, don’t forget to close the toilet seat and keep all your cleaners and dangerous stuff off from their tiny paws, and then, check again.

They are born troublemakers.

Ok, play time is over. Now what? How do I make them come back to the cage?

There is a method I Call P&P. Patience and Peanuts.

Step 1 Keep your treats in a jar. And give them some of those treats every once in a while, for about the first week or two after you brough them in to your home. In this period of time they wont get play time. And if they are already used to playtime, sorry buds, you gotta learn this first.

They’ll eventually associate Noise of jar opening = Treats

Now you are good to go.

Step 2

Patience. The first play times may be longer than youd expect. Maybe 2 hours, maybe 3. Whys this? Chinchillas dont really like to be inside their tiny cage and would rather spend all their time in this new place they can jump, run and play. But, maybe sometimes, theyll return to their cage. Thats fine. Do not close the door.

They need to understand that just because they are inside the cage, you are not going to stop play time.

Wait for this to happen the more the better. If they dont run off as soon as you approach the cage, you can give them a treat through the bars, you want the door space free.

Once you are bored and a long time has passed, you chins feel they can go inside and out all they want, wait for them to step inside If you are in a super hurry, try to encourage them with treats or gentle hand movements.

Then, once inside, reward them, use this distraction to close the door.

Step 3

Repeat untill... well, a month of so.

Step 4

Now stand next to the spot you give them the treats and open the jar. You should now have your chins inside the cage ready to be given the treats. Close the door and reward.

Step 5 Youve successfully trained your chinchillas to come when called by the sound of a jar of treats.

Theres obviously more methods, but this is the one I use, mostly because it just developed naturally.

After playtime, they need to rest and do other chinchilla things. You? you have to clean after them. Chinchillas pee inside the cage usually in a set spot, but they poo everywhere. On your bed, on your chair, your desk, your everything where they have been. They are poo machines, they dont stink and they are hard, so they are not too gross, but its still poo, so... clean it, please.

Talking about personal hygene, Chinchillas need Dust/Sand baths At the very LEAST once a Week. two or three are preferred. And no, not normal sand nor dust will do, it has to be Chinchilla Dust or Chinchilla Sand because their skin is fragile and HAS to be specific for chinchillas. Yes or Yes.

Oh, ok, why don’t i leave the dust/sand inside the cage so they can bath whenever they want? Because:

A) If they bath too much, their skin will dry and will occasionate troublesome dermal illnesses

B) Sometimes they pee and poo in there. And they will roll in it. Ew.

Please dont leave the sand bath in.

They don’t usually spend a lot of time bathing, 10 minutes will be enough. Or... when they get bored. The Bathtub needs to be sturdy enough so when they roll, it wont get topped, thats it. Top cover for reduced sand spreading is optional, it works, but you will still get sand everywhere around your chin.

Also, beware, even if you put a little bit of sand or dust, it will go floof and up in to the air, and then, down in to your floor/clothing/whatever.

If you are allergic to dust or have respiratory issues wear a mask or something if your Chin likes to make a mess.

To clean the “bathtub” you can scoop the poop and the unusual pee with something and re-use the sand untill you notice it is getting clumped or dirty.

Alright, day one is over, you head to sleep. Its 5am. Dead quiet. The lights are off, you are in your sweetest dream, eating a pizza. And then, when you least expect it, Hell breaks loose, delivering to your ears, the roar of 100 demons. Adorable little demons

They are not dying, they are scared of... something. If you just got your Chin it’s most likely the new enviroment and all the new stuff. Mine has been with me for a year and something now and while he doesn’t bark as much, sometimes he gives me a small heart attack when I’m in bed. Once a month, maybe, they don’t do this often.

And finally, let me reiterate:

They are smarter than what you may think.

Don’t let them decieve you.

Those bug eyed, big eared, fluffy little creatures know what to do, and how to do so that they always win.
