oh MAN i finished watching Emesis Blue this morning. this sfm movie really is a masterwork of ambient psychological horror and freaky body horror. It's like if you extrapolated on the events of the early tf2 comics and merged it with Perfect Blue. you barely even need to know any tf2 lore to watch it but the little bits it incorporates into the story are really great callbacks to the early comics. KARKJHKJHADKJFHGFHG ITS SO GOOD the freaky mutated scout is incredible. genuinely scary, 10/10. and pyro's uncannily reverberating voice is nuts. watch Emesis Blue if you've got the stomach for it it's really worth it

ok ok ok so i reaallly love little shop of horrors, its one of mty favorite movies... like i may or may not have named a scattergun "Audrey II" with the description as "Heal me, Seymour!"... uhm yeah and anyways ive been thinking about the dentist scene and realized, hmmm, this is like sooooo medic coded (i mean medic is like nicer and stuff but its the vibes yknow?)

and then i just spiraled from there. lol.

so i think sniper HAS to be Seymour, im mean it fits songwise too "suddenly sniper" right? and i put spy as Audrey mostly for the outfits? but honestly any of the mercs could be Audrey... like maybe demo heavy or engie. and since medic is obviously the dentist then heavy could be the masochist patient, but i feel like scout would fit a lot more since theyre both so talkative. and then for the 3 singers honestly any of the mercs could work too, or like throughout the movie they rotate with the mercs who dont take a main role i guess. oh and engie could be mr. mushnik? the cast in this movie is pretty small so its hard to pick which mercs to put :/

I've been in the dsaf fandom for a year or two by now lol. but like I've only been lurking and...some fans take dsaf TOO seriously. Like, no hate. none at all. but,, I wish people acknowledged more often that Dayshift at freddy's at it's core, is silly. like, all three games are full of jokes (some less than others) and that's the original premise. Yeah, there's the serious lore bits and all.. but what about the SILLY bits? Can we have the silly bits appreciated? Jack can piss for 15 minutes straight, Dave ate an entire ashtray of lit cigarette butts and lost his sense of taste after, ALL the phone guys were programmed to say "darn" and "heckin'!" as a substitute for swearing, and Dee is a tickler (not ticklish, a TICKLER she tickled Dave til his springlocks went off in the premature ending, and she can tickle Jack when in the suit to set it off if you don't wind the box). Henry is the reason why they have cameras in the fazbender's bathrooms.

I love seeing the serious bits too, but I wish people spent as much time with the silly bits as the serious ones. Even when it comes to making your own silly bits!!! Like, yess!!!! Go write that Undertale!DSAF AU. Go write about Dave and Jack as kitchen appliances. Go write about what you headcannon Dee's favorite songs and movies are. Go write about Jack having magical princess half wolf demon powers. EVEN WITH THE PAINTINGS!!! I saw a drawing of Dave and Jack in sailor moon get up and they killed it. absolutely. I know the dsaf artists out here are killing it with their art, it's all amazing and I have lovingly gazed at all of them before. and yes!!!!! Go RP as Peter Kennedy having a deep carnal desire for bird watching, go RP as Harry Fitzergald enjoying himself at an aquarium, go RP as Dave Miller spending hours trying to figure out how air fryers work so he can give it a shot at building one at home.

Please do anything your heart desires!!!!! You can look out the car window with your headphones in and listen to music while imagining sad sfms of the characters and keep it to yourself. But if you wish to share, just now that there's people out there that have been wishing someone would create what they've been imagining too!!! Make your funky spotify character playlists!! Even your youtube music ones!! Because there will be someone out there who thinks the same as you and enjoys them the same as you !!

I live for the serious ones too. Please, go write that heartfelt fic about Dave yearning for his soulless friend's presence in the afterlife. Please, go write about Jack despairing that he doesn't just stop existing after death, and is stuck in a void. Please, go write about Dee speaking to the gang in afterlife about how she wishes she had a longer childhood, and how she is sad that the very few things that made her childhood a childhood is gone and that she can never truly have it back( jack, and all the friends and lovely gifts and animals and all the joy). Please, go write about DaveTrap surviving the fire in the good ending and being miserable because no matter how much he was angry and hateful, he missed Jack, he missed having a quarrel with him, he missed asking just one more time, if Jack wanted to kill kiddins' with him, and then him having to visit Jack's grave and despairing that Jack had never lied when he told him his name. And then DaveTrap sees the other graves, all the other ones, of the kids that died at fazbender's because of fazbender's. And he also sees a grave bearing his own name. His real name. And it was right next to four other graves, of people who's names rang bells in his ears, of people with a last name he recognized, of people he remembered betting on whether or not they'll die with Henry.

AHHH I think this might be too long. i just love ranting about my ideas because as much as i have a love for writing, i can never execute the ideas. they are cursed to forever be just an idea i can share to my friends who don't like dsaf but like hearing my rambles.

Just finished watching the FNAF movie (hooray for early UK release!) and I unironically loved it. Some things I want to mention…

Honestly me just losing my fucking shit whenever there was a reference to the lore/games?!?! Like I was SO excited it was unreal

THE TOREADOR MARCH?!? FOXY SINGING?!? BALLOON BOY?!?! VANESSA?!? THE FREDDY LAUGH?!? THE “IT’S ME” WRITTEN ON THE MIRROR?!?

Not gory at all tbh like there’s a couple of scenes involving blood but most of the kills cut away before showing anything (there WAS a scene where Freddy chomped someone’s torso in half but you only see her bottom half afterwards, like the bite happens in the shadows)

There were, in fact, five nights at Freddy’s (and one day) (yes I counted lol) and absolutely nothing of particular scariness happened on Nights 1 or 2, Night 3 was cute, Night 4 started off cute but got sad and then Night 5 was kind of terrifying, kind of funny, kind of fucking awesome and filled with lore

They definitely missed a trick by not mentioning the Bite of ‘87 (or ‘83? Idk) or Golden Freddy but I know there MIGHT be a sequel so… 👀

I spent the whole of the movie trying to figure out who the fifth child/animatronic was 💀 like obviously Freddy, Chica, Bonnie and Foxy… was the fifth one the fucking cupcake?!?!

The cupcake was kinda goofy but I loved it all the same

The animatronics went from villains to not villains to villains to not villains again like what a journey

Look most of my FNAF knowledge admittedly comes from watching Markiplier and JackSepticEye playthroughs but since when was Vanessa William Afton’s daughter?!? Also is Vanessa THE Vanny???

“I always come back” - cue the 20 people at the 10:50am showing I was in absolutely losing their fucking shit

In the sequel (if there’s a sequel) I DEMAND more Matthew Lillard as William Afton/Springtrap like yeah he’s dead but FLASHBACKS!!!! Prequels?!? So much potential there. What I’m trying to say is that we deserved more of him, he was amazing but only there at the beginning and the very end, that’s my top complaint tbh

Not that scary to be honest but there’s some jump scares

I will say this, it definitely felt VERY campy at times, like there were moments involving murderous animatronics where we were all giggling in the cinema

Abby (Abi?) was VERY cute and sweet but also I wanted to shake her like you fucking idiot why are you going up to the scary ass animatronics?!? Stay in the office with your sleeping brother

The fact Mike still has custody of his sister after their aunt was presumably murdered in his home is not adding up but hey ho 😂

Is it the best movie ever made? No, but it was enjoyable for me so I call it a win

Good Stuff: Emesis Blue

I'll admit, it was of pure happenstance of sitting down and watching this movie. I won't beat around the bush, because I'm glad I did. This was actually one of the best-animated horror films I've seen. Hell the audacity that this is a film about Team Fortress 2, all animated with Source Filmmaker, astounded me in the best possible way. Frankly, this review was purely made from the visceral urge to talk about this. For those interested, I'll see to not spoil too much because it's a see-to-believe work of art.

The movie takes place in an alternate universe of TF2 where the characters fit their original roles but aren't just the characters named Medic, Heavy, or Spy. The best aspect I like about the story is that it centers around a central mechanic from the game, it's basically the catalyst behind both the story and the horrors you get. It has clever ways of incorporating elements from the game into a way that can fit that universe while you know it's all its own thing.

I'll say now however that it is a double-edged sword in that when it's immersive, it genuinely gets immersive; you can forget this is a TF2 film sometimes. However, if you're well aware of what this is all based off of, you will get taken out of it occasionally. This isn't so much the fault of the creators as it can be the limits of technology and assets that everybody well into the fandom can be too aware of. My issues beyond that can be chocked to not everything being as perfect as I could imagine like the voice acting or particular scenes here and there. That being said, this film was tense.

I love how Emesis Blue restrained itself from having jump scares even when certain moments that could've applied music stingers or sudden cuts. There are shocking and highly intense moments, but it's otherwise quiet and unsettling. It's not a cryptic horror, but I like how it's basically uncovering a history that's well-established here. There are also good elements of noir and action with reasonable humor in this too; it's not all horror from beginning to end. You're with the characters wondering what the hell is happening or could happen and they don't just feel like TF2 characters playing other identities. That's what I love about SFM films, you can insert the mercs into any situation if you frame it well. The lighting and coloring especially help immersed me because I'm serious in saying this can be one of the best-looking animations I've seen.

I don't know what else to say. Fans of TF2 came a long way despite the game itself recently struggling due to neglect. The fact this is an actual hour-and-forty-minute fanmade movie, with no tricks, is an incredible feat I have to respect. If you're into an animated slow burn, unsettling suspense thriller then I highly recommend this. If I had to be genuinely objective, this would be an 8 out of 10. But my heart has to give this...
