The comedy of Trolls getting its flowers finally and being recognized as a fun series after the most recent movie when the first one has had me in a chokehold for years. When I used to have Netflix I would just watch that whenever I wanted to have fun.

Sometimes adulthood is looking at a jukebox musical based on a kids toy, and just deciding "yeah actually this is a good movie."

From here on out when making posts about transformers stuff I love I’m not gonna put in a footnote every time about how much other bad stuff there also is in the franchise/fandom. Cause trying to keep posts well rounded and faithful to the entire tf fandom as a whole every single time is so exhausting and also the tf fandom sucks? Additionally it’s too large. sometimes i think about the time when I was maybe 11 or 12 and extremely scared to watch any saw movie because i was depressed. I was afraid that jigsaw would somehow find out about it, think that I don't appreciate my life and put me in one of the traps.

I just rewatched the Cars franchise (yes, ig also due to the new show) and wow (Owen Wilson's "wow"), one of the most hilarious character traits of Lightning McQueen that I realized is that he's so SO childish. This dumbass literally dreams about being some wierd meta flying (cars universe-)alien fighting machine once Dinoco sponsors him. Pouts when he's upset. Hellbent on doing the things he loves (i.e. racing). Extremely competitive. Gets a nightmare about frank demolishing his race and that's enough to get him "I NeED tO GeT oUTtA hErE!". Literally had no shame at all saying 'I love you' to Sally (cars 2), Mater (Cars on the road) and (I'm sure) to eVerYOnE in Radiator Springs. "MaTeR, YoU ArE ThE BOoMB!". Surrounded by obviously new gen racers and still races. Dances in the middle of nowhere just to get his mentee to come with him. Loves dinosaurs. "Oh, Let's scare those folks of my mountain!" Lightning *scared 0.001 seconds ago*: YES COUNT ME IN!. Literaly could be excited about anything except clowns.

Like I wasn’t really looking into it very much and was a little worried they would be trying to appeal to adults for some reason. I didn’t really care about an origin story (and origin for WHAT. Another continuity? Because that’s not an origin, anyway) given the origin is different pretty much every time, but I’m glad it’s apparently just trying to be a decent kid’s action movie.

But huh, I’m cool with the villains ironically being an alien invasion lol, wonder how the Quintessons will be dealt with here. Also presumably Megs’ start of his decent into being the scourge of the galaxy. Guess there’s a decent way to make it a “We have to get Them before They get Us” motivation for galactic conquest but eh, who knows.

I hate putting plants on Cybertron though. It makes no sense and helps give me a feeling of “this is just Earth again.” But whatever.

Anyway that all sounds alright. Maybe I’ll watch the trailer at some point. Probably the movie if the reviews are decent. Probably at some point even if they aren’t.

Will say robot designs look nice. And Hollywood stop casting stars for their names.
