Here's a part II to my original NSFW ffxiv headcanons! Someone requested an afab version :3

Some of the information below will be repeated and expanded on from P1 since it's relevant, but this post will focus mostly on the female sex and also delve a little more into reproduction. It's more technical in wording than the original post, mostly because I've spent more time thinking about this since then, fleshing out my ideas.

You're welcome to adopt parts of these for your own fics/headcanons/etc if you like them, I don't mind! You're also welcome to keep doing you if you don't. To each their own pussy. If you like pussy.

There is a lot of vulva talk under the cut. If you don't want to read about genitals then don't click the cut. There is also a version with illustrated diagrams on my Pillowfort(here), if you do not want to see vulvas, do not click the link. The post was intended to have the visual guide alongside it, but I have to leave these out on tumblr bc of content restrictions.

There is also some mention of the role of things like tail docking and food restriction to maintain body shapes, so if you're sensitive to these themes, read with care.

Descriptions of genitals are "averages" but ofc size, shape, color, hair content might vary significantly between individuals!

Miqote vulvas are pretty similar to Hyur in size, shape, and variation. It should be noted, however, that instead of pubic hair, Miqo'te women grow fur similar in texture to that of their tails, which may also be similarly patterned. Fur does not grow around the anus, leaving a smooth gap between the tail and mons pubis.

Most healthy Miqo'te have a "primordial pouch", a pair of fatty deposits around the lower abdomen, stretching to the start of the legs. It is generally soft and warm, used to insulate and as a bit of natural protection over their organs. A prominent pouch is considered attractive in traditional Tribal environments, where it represents being well fed. Though the novelty of its softness can be quite enjoyable to non-Miqo'te, some working as dancers or in Ul'dahn pleasure houses may be encouraged to restrict their diet and reduce its size so they might appear more conventionally appealing to patrons of other races.

Males do not have heat cycles, but females do. Females in heat have an extremely strong drive to mate that is often impairing to other senses, and bear a distinct scent which will arouse and attract male Miqo'te. Heats commonly last between 2-14 days, and reoccur every 2-3 weeks if medicines, magics, or potions are not used to limit it. If pregnancy occurs, heat will end "early" within the next day, and the heat cycle will be suspended until roughly a month after the end of the pregnancy.

Ovulation is induced by genital stimulation, particularly from the soft "barb" like structures on the surface of an erect Miqo'te penis. Pregnancy is possible outside of heat cycles and with amab partners who have smoother dicks, but both are extremely uncommon.

Because they are induced ovulators and have heat cycles, Miqo'te do not menstruate.

Pregnancy lasts about seven months. Fraternal twins and even triplets are extremely common, and may have different fathers. Miqo'te children learn to climb often before they can even walk very well, and infants are known to put this to use escaping cribs and getting on top of furniture where they absolutely shouldn't be

Hrothgar vaginas are relatively small, though the single set of labia around it are quite large by comparison and covered in short, thick fur, joining in a point near the top. The clitoris is deeper inside the vagina and not usually visible from the outside. There is a small hairless patch directly around the anus, but otherwise the nether regions are entirely covered in fur.

Like Miqo'te, Hrothgar often have primordial pouches around their lower stomach and upper legs. These tend to be less common in Hrothgar, however, and less prominent. They are visually more obscured by fur, and may not be noticed without being touched.

They have a heat cycle and traits similar to Miqo'te, however, female Hrothgar only go into heat every 3-4 months. Cross-race pregnancies for Hrothgar mothers are especially rare, as the barbed penis of male Hrothgar is necessary to stimulate ovulation. Mating between Hrothgar can be painful because of these barbs, so it's probably not done for pleasure much outside of heats, unless the gal's really into masochism.

Because they are induced ovulators and have heat cycles, Hrothgar do not menstruate.

Pregnancy lasts around 9 months, and while twins are far more common than in other races, usually only a single child is born.

Viera vulvas are not terribly different from Hyurs, though on average tend to have much larger labia and prepuce, and a smaller vagina. The clitoris is quite large and erects significantly when aroused. Viera naturally grow a lot of pubic hair, which if left unshaved will typically completely obscure the genitals.

Viera are born with fluffy tails that curl upward to around the small of the back. In traditional villages, these are usually docked off of infants and magic may even be used to remove the scarring during the healing process. It is not widely discussed with outsiders, to whom it often appears that some Viera have tails while others do not.

Female viera have no heat cycle. Ovulation occurs during arousal and genital stimulation. Because they are induced ovulators, Viera do not menstruate.

Pregnancy lasts around 18 months, but can go on as long as two years, at which point a single child completely devoid of hair is born. Twins are very rare.

Au Ra vaginas are tucked inside a scale-covered cloaca. The cloaca is the only rear orfice, concealing also the urethra and anus. This slit is convex (curving inward) usually, but when aroused, will convex out as it swells. The cloacal entrance usually does not reveal anything internal on its own, and must be pried open (y'know, with a dick. or fingers. or a toy.) However, during orgasm, it's known to "flash" open in time with spasms.

The "labia" are fused to the walls of the cloaca and large. While the vagina appears narrow between these and the large clitoris, it can be stretched open fairly wide. Note that "fairly wide" is relative - Au Ra women are quite small and races like Roegadyn and Hrothgar would likely cause pain if their dicks were forced in very deep. Small dicks are generally preferred, unless, like that Hrothgar lady, you're into it.

Au Ra do not have heats, but do have yearly "mating seasons" when the drive to reproduce is stronger for both sexes, and offspring are more likely to be conceived. Outside of these conditions, Au Ra females enter a period of estivation where their reproductive cycle is suspended. This may lead to decreased interest in non-reproductive sex. Au Ra do not menstruate.

Pregnancy lasts around 5-6 months. Au Ra children are born extremely small, but grow quickly and from one year up until about 10 years of age, tend to be larger than children of the same age in other races.

oH on the topic of comfort, kaeya really likes resting two fingers on the back of your neck???

ik he seems like the type to throw his arm around your shoulder which yes he totally is but during more serious conversations his hand automatically seeks out the warmth of your neck

your neck feels amazing especially during the warmer months due to his chilly fingers contrasting with your warm skin

he likes that he’s able to access such a vulnerable part of you and you would willingly let him

he’ll be carefully monitoring your reaction though, any sign of fear or disgust will have him recoiling within himself again and you most likely will never see his true nature ever again

once you’ve seen the parts of him he’s offered to you, the hushed whispers of his past, and the uncertain lines of his future, he will take off his eyepatch

pretends like he’s not super nervous but he’s SWEATING-

you can understand why he covers it up but you would like it if he felt comfortable enough to take off the eyepatch occasionally when he’s with you

anyways life w kaeya will never be boring but he is a very complicated man

the poor woman works so hard bc the knights are so mf understaffed, this is literally the best way you can ever show her your love and appreciation when she has work

she will MELT if you have a hot shower and dinner waiting for her when she inevitably returns later than she promised

will completely refuse at first with, “you did not have to do this, it’s too much” but shush her as you shOULD bc she deserves the entire world

she’s the definition of “you do something for me, i’ll return the favor ten times grander”

Stormy Weather

This started when @swaps55 mentioned missing thunderstorms a couple of months back. I've been missing my boys, so I thought I'd finish it and share. Because, storms...

Setting: Post War, Alenko orchard, BC Interior

It’s the deep rumble outside, the subtle vibrations of the house in response, that wake Caleb from the depths of slumber with a suddenness that that sets his heart to racing. Bolting upward in bed and drawing his knees to his chest, an instinctive defensive reaction, it takes a good, full minute to catch his breath and understand he isn’t back in the heat of battle; it’s just a thunderstorm rolling through the valley.

Another rolling rumble thrums and his gaze drifts to the window, spattered drops of rain barely noticeable on the pane’s surface in the dark until a bright flash lightens the skies behind it. Habit born from years of service has him counting the seconds as they tick by. One… two… three… four… It starts as a gentle rumble, slowly gaining strength, ending with the glass panes rattling loudly in their frames. Closing his eyes, he loops his arms around his legs, drops his head to his knees, and inhales deeply.

Movement to his left assures him he isn’t alone, but somehow, Kaidan sleeps through it all. Lifting his head, glancing down at his husband’s sleeping form, Caleb manages a weak smile. After so many years in the Alliance, of being at the ready on a moment’s notice, missions with little or no sleep, saving the galaxy from one threat or another; nothing short of a bomb going off next to him can wake the man most of the time these days. It’s a refreshing change and a hard-earned break for him. Next time, wake me… After everything, he doesn’t have the heart to follow through on that.

Oh, how he wishes the same could be said for him. Too many years – most of his life, really – spent this way, old habits now so ingrained he doubts they’ll ever change. He does, however, reach over to gently run a hand down Kaidan’s arm until their hands tangle loosely, an effort to ground himself.

Slipping free of the bed and bedding, he slides his feet into slippers, grabs his robe, then heads downstairs. On the eastern side of the house, he exits onto the covered porch and takes a seat on the swing there. It’s a favored sitting place, a thinking place. Something Kaidan still gives him grief about upon occasion, but he doesn’t mind. It’s one of the things they share, a connection point.

Tonight, he’s in a contemplative mood tonight. Storms here are different than he remembers back in Shannon. Occasionally more violent, but overall, they have a different sort of energy than gales rolling in off the Atlantic. They smell different, too. Earthier. Fresher. Not the salt and brine he’s used to associating with them. But the winds are just as sharp. He shivers beneath his robe and wraps it more tightly around him.

Another roll of thunder rumbles past, this time only two seconds away. The wooden railing clatters in soft accompaniment. A wind gust whips around the corner of the house with speed that rivals the Normandy and sets the swing into motion, gently rocking Caleb back and forth. It’s a surprisingly soothing motion, but not enough to return him to the safety of oblivion.

The next flash is much closer, barely a second to catch his breath before the thunder resounds, this time with a harsh, crashing, cracking boom. Instinct has him lifting his arm to shield his eyes, though it does little good. The entire house rattles around him this time, loudly protesting the disturbance, then gently settles once more. Droplets of rain pick up speed, and soon stampede as opaque sheets to flood the ground beneath it. Again, the wind races past, catching it just right, and sends a spray of moisture toward him; Caleb sits in place, his robe soaking it up, the skin beneath cooling as it makes contact.

A creak behind him alerts Caleb he is no longer alone. Glancing over his shoulder, he expects to find Niamh or Tadhg to stumbling out, broken sleep due to the storm, but he instead meets a concerned whiskey-brown gaze. Barefoot and dressed only in pajama pants, Kaidan wanders over. His sleep tousled hair falls into his eyes and a light shiver rolls across his bared chest and arms even as one hand rises to cover a yawn. The other hand reaches for Caleb’s. “There you are.”

Tangling their fingers together, Caleb shifts so Kaidan can sit behind him, pulling their joined hands around his waist. “Aye, here I am. What woke you?”

Kaidan snuggles close, resting his chin on Caleb’s shoulder. “You weren’t there.”

“Mmm. Storm woke me.” Caleb leans against the back of the swing, propping his head with his free hand.

“Dreams?”

“More like… memories, I think.”

Another flash, more thunder. Kaidan’s hand tightens around Caleb’s. “Shannon or the Citadel?” At this point in their lives, Kaidan is well aware of the most potent of dreams and memories that haunt on nights like this.

“Citadel. At the end,” he replies quietly before leaning back against Kaidan’s shoulder. The last bit of tension bleeds out of him at the contact and the way Kaidan’s arms wrap more securely around him.

There are a few seconds between the next flash of lighting and the inevitable thunder, a sign the heart of the storm is moving past, south of them. It eases his mind enough that sleep starts to tempt him. “I was thinking…”

“Hmm?” Kaidan nuzzles where Caleb’s shoulder and neck join when his voice trails off. “About what?”

He tilts his head to the side to give him more access. “Your storms are so different from the ones in Shannon.”

Laughter, soft, warm, and embracing, tickles at Caleb’s ear. “That’s because this is Canada, not Ireland.”

“Aye, I know that much,” he mutters, turning a bit so Kaidan’s lips now run lightly along his neck. He shivers when they find another sensitive spot. “I loved walking in the rain in Shannon. Used to drive Nan crazy when I’d come home, soaked through to the skin, no explanation. Ned, I think, understood, but Nan never did.”

Kaidan’s smile curls against Caleb’s neck. “Did you get storms like this? With the lightning and thunder, I mean.”

“Sometimes. Mostly just rain and wind. The gales could blow something fierce.”

There is a moment’s pause, as if Kaidan wants to say something but holds back, but it lasts just a moment. Until it doesn’t. “Like Despoina?”

Caleb stiffens momentarily, then relaxes again. “Shannon isn’t on the edge of the sea like that, but similar I suppose,” he replies. Despoina has a whole other set of memories tied to it; most of them not pleasant. Still, without that mission, neither of them would have ended up where they are now, and Caleb won’t trade that for anything else. They’ve gone through hell and back to get this far; it’s theirs to enjoy now.

Kaidan trails a line of small, gentle kisses across Caleb’s cheek until their lips meet, tangling together more insistently. Caleb relaxes into it, savoring the connection, returning it in kind. “You know the best part about storms around here?” Kaidan asks when they break apart some minutes later.

Caleb chuckles. “Aye, but you’ll tell me anyway, won’t you?”

A grin slides across Kaidan’s lips. “The best part is getting to go back inside and snuggle together in bed.”

Caleb leans in to steal another quick kiss before rising to his feet. “Not so subtle there, mo ghrá. You’re losing your touch.”

Kaidan winks as he grabs the front of his robe, tugs gently, and meets him with another touch of their lips. “Who said I was trying to be subtle?” he counters when he releases him. “Especially around you? Someone has to keep you on your toes.”

The trip back to their room takes twice as long as usual, both careful not to make any sounds that will wake the kids. As Kaidan closes the door behind them, Caleb shucks his robe and slippers, turning to meet Kaidan’s arms again. With a small smirk on his lips, he ghosts his finger tips up and down Kaidan’s spine as their lips meet again. This time when they separate, Kaidan frames Caleb’s face with both hands. “You’re sure you’re all right, mo shearc?”

Caleb leans into the touch, wide smile spreading across his face. “Aye, I’m fine,” he promises. “Better now, here, with you.” And really, that is all that matters.

((also for real I mean it when I say this is rambling as hell lol, apologies and no stress if absolute no one reads all this))

OKAY SO Mass Effect 1-

Stars help me, I was honestly hooked right from the start?? Like even in Legendary Edition (the combined trilogy just re-released in one "can play it on one system + minor improvements", for anyone who doesn't know) where it's smoothed out, of course it's obvious that ME1 is a decade old... but the foundation for these relationships are all there and gods I love them already.

Like - Kaiden right off the top is a delightful good fightin lad, what the hell. I've heard that he's viewed as 'bland' by a good portion of the fan community but I dunno, he's a delight and even more complex by the time 2 rolls around and you encounter him on Horizon, it was honestly Ashley I was way more meh about - mostly because before you can learn about her family history/etc, she comes off as hella xenophobic and I was immediately offended for my growing space family that she didn't like/trust all the aliens around, pfff.

(she gets redeemed a bit through further actions/evolving thoughts, but I thought in retrospect it was a bummer that they didn't flip the order there, give her a chance to be liked before the complicating factor of being so rude about aliens >:c that then she could grow from... ah well. Apparently she has a good arc but uh, let's just say I chose Kaiden at the "key junction" in the latter part of the game so I won't be seeing anymore of Ashley uh... anytime soon, haha.)

Garrus??? Is??????? The ABSOLUTE best???????????

I liked him from the start, I'm always a bit of a sucker for a rogue-detective "the system won't bring this bastard to justice, so I've got to" type and all their moral shadiness XD But he just gets better, honestly, and where I'm at in ME2 (right before the Reaper IFF mission, as of typing this, with everyone's loyalty!) I am only digging myself deeper into this hole-

-*wheezing* okay anyways -

Wrex is AMAZING I love fightin' middle-aged krogan bastard, gods. Liara is great too, I'm a sucker for a wlw relationship (playing fem!Shepard, so) - buuuut I'll admit she's a bit more one-note in ME1. Last week while I was still on ME1 I remember hearing (while trying to dodge spoilers) that her arc is really good, though. I think they leaned a little hard on the 'innocent but sexy' sterteotype on her (so despite the yikes aspect of a few of the things I've learned in ME2, lol, I actually really like the complexity that's been added to her character.)

Saved Liara first, so by the time I got to Noveria and had the standoff with Benezia there was the chance to have emotions over Liara having to face her TwT and of course, I made the questionable but quality decision to free Queen Rachni heheh. no ragrets

More than a blow-by-blow of my choices though I totally wanna take the chance to say that even in the mild jankiness of ME1 (goddammit, the Mako.... please..... please just go up this impossible cliff I just want to resource hunt-) the way that the lore, both obvious/key to main plot and the lesser/filler/background/world-building kinds... I just love it. It incorporates it well, you can go ham in the codex learning more, or just dive into the basics - it's clearly a complex galaxy (and they do an even better job in 2 of fleshing it out further), and it never really felt overwhelming. It was pretty natural figuring it all out-!

Plus the interesting implications of resource hunting amongst the sapient races, and the little side missions you better bet I did every one of- there's so much rich depth in the story if you do 'em!! (And that lead with that Keeper side mission...? Looking back, damn, clever foreshadowing-!!!)

And oh my gods, Ilios??? hell yeah. I loved that mission so much, especially having Garrus & Kaiden with me when talking to the hologram/computer, and more than anything, that last sprint in the Mako trying to get to the jump before it closed-???

Also mannn I love a good setpiece, and having to go up the side of the elevator, space-side?? such a cool setup!!

Plus it felt good having been Paragon enough (as simple as the good v bad vibe system is, I don't hate it, lol) to avoid one of the Saren fights, ngl. And the er, "second fight" with Sovereign-Saren.... hell yeah

... I'll admit I had to double check my choice re whether to save the Council. I did in the end, but I swear, sometimes the way they phrase things I'm like ".... okay but Garrus is right, defeating Sovereign is more important than these few leaders??????" woops. Listen, priorities, is all I'm saying..... (￣ヮ￣|||)ゞ

'Course later they emphasize (in ME2) that there were 10,000 people on that same ship and I was like well I wouldn't have second guessed if I'd known that, I mean c'mon-

Also I did indeed romance Liara in this one, so I got that scene ;Dc But,,,, I also knew by the end that I was totally gonna romance Garrus in 2 since he's an option then finally,,,,, lemme tell you the guilt as I waffled over whether to romance Liara bc of it. hahaha.

Aaaaand Mass Effect 2-

So I'm only up to right before the Reaper IFF Mission, so I don't know the ending, etc etc lol. That said, I've just finished every side mission I've found with the exception of the Shadowbroker Quest and the Arrival Quest (I've heard the latter basically leads into ME3, and the former is best either right before the Omega 4 jump or in postgame).

So from the start - fuck yeah fuck yeah what a high adrenaline start Shepard noooooo but also yes save Joker aH-

The motion comic too hot damn nice job

I loved this setup, seriously - especially forcing Shep into this situation, having to work with/for Cerberus, and the compelling reasoning given behind "why" they do what they do (I especially found it a good point that the Salarians have the Task Force, the Asaris the Commandos, the Turians the- etc... like, true, when you put it like that, having a similar group advancing human interests/solving human interstellar problems is pretty reasonable...). That said, I love too that it really isn't shied away from how Cerberus is nonetheless fucked up - or its at least done fucked up stuff.

Listen, I still think some messed up stuff is gonna be revealed in 2's endgame......... after that Horizon mission and the Collector's ship???? TIM I SEE YOU YOU SHADY MF-

aaanyways lol...

I'm so so glad on a gameplay level they nixed the Mako style exploration. A few Hammerhead missions are fine and a lot more focused than the slippery ass navigation in that glorified ATV, pfff. The probes are a neat way of getting after similar resources - and more importantly, having good levels and some good hubs (the Zakera Wards, Omega, Ilium, etc) is way way more fun than having a more 'sprawling' space that is.... a lot of empty nonsense, lol.

Then there's the fact that we get Joker right off the bat and you can interact with him so much - and him and EDI??? Get out gods I love them. Kasumi is so right when she says they sound like a bickering old married couple lol. I have a terrible feeling that some shit is gonna happen with EDI..... but I don't think she's evil as-is, at least.

Side-eying the hell out of those "access forbidden" parts of her that she doesn't even know.... and the fact that her AI core has a locked door access................... something's gonna happen gdi LEAVE OUR ADOPTED AI ALONE.

(Also Joker pls stop fracturing your thumb on the mute button)

Also please save me there are so many hot aliens in this game,,,,, the xeno/monsterfuckers really comin' through strong in the sequels............... doin' the lord's work........................................

In general, I love how many levels ME stepped up in two with complexity and interwoven narratives!! Like, to the point it'd be almost a drag to replay ME1, even though it was fun going through it (if occasionally a bit tedious with the cookie cutter rando planet science/mine facilities, lol). Like, just from how fun and interesting ME2 is, mostly! more of all the pre-introduced races, plus new ones, plus more filling in of intragalactic politics, and more interesting implications of all these space-faring races mixing....

Also gods WREX and his planet holy shit,,,,, fuckin' hell yeah my man get their shit together and also adopt Grunt yes good-

And Mordin??? My singing semi-evil scientist best friend forced to confront his choices more than he thought he ever would have???? With some of the best ongoing general report chatter of all the companions??

(when I tell you I choked on my coffee when I talked to him after confirming romance choice w/ Garrus and that 'pamphlet' and 'anaphalactic shot if ingesting-' kajsldkfjsldfjk)

Like, fuck, the fact that they actually dive into the mixed morality and horrors of the genophage, and you can confront Mordin on it, for good reason, yet he still stands his ground, until finally some bits of his loyalty mission seem to... affect him, and I'm guessing might set up things for 3 with him? Unsure, but either way, damn, the fact that they start to dig into it...

And Taliiiii my beloved forbidden alien wife TwT her loyalty mission was SO GOOD. I love how varied they all are?? Getting to defend her and discover what she'd unwittingly been a part of-!!

Zaeed is a bastard but tbh I love that he is and that he's unapologetic in him - and Kasumi omg, best thief. A heist?? Gods, yes- I love our couch lounge chats XD

Samara is..... illegally.......... she's an illegally powerful and beautiful and eloquent MILF...........................

(.... listen I'm sapphic as hell and I'm kicking my own ass for picking her up last aksjdlfksjdfl - but her loyalty mission, damn. And seeing how there's this interesting cultural subset, and the struggle with the Asari in that they unquestioningly accept/respect justicars, but also know that the impact outside their culture is a diplomacy nightmare waiting to happen-)

I am weak for morally implicated murder dads okay?? And that voice??? His mannerisms?????? How you first see him, and that prayer after assassinating her...???????? And his history/his people's history with the hanar, gods I love how messy it is, it feels so much more real!

Also Jack is a mess and I love her (and want to get her some therapy, omg), and her and Miranda nearly duking it out after you've done both their loyalty missions??? so good and makes a lot of sense-! Honestly I would love more interactions between teammates on the ship, but there's already so much the devs had to balance I can't blame 'em for minimizing, heh. But suffice to say I also love Miranda and Jacob, even if I'm softest for my alien crew XD Hell yeah Jacob, we'll get loud and spill drinks on the citadel indeed TwT

.... I could write a whole essay on how much I love Garrus oTL Perhaps because he and Tali are the throughlines from 1 on your 2 crew, I have some of the strongest feelings about them... but genuinely, he was one of my favorite companions in the first game, and how you find him as Archangel in two? Getting to help him fight his way out after he's gone nearly 48 hours straight fighting off three gangs alone, jfc. His vengeance quest and what can happen there.... That line? fuck me, that line -

It's so much easier to see the world in black and white. Grey? I don't know what to do with gray...

But yeah gods I'm just gonna keep rambling if I'm not careful lol. Gods I don't even know what to talk about it's all so good and while I can understand people roasting the obviousness of Paragon V Renegade (v neutral) choices/alignments, I think they do a pretty damn good job in 2 of pushing it further - to the point that there were some times that I accidentally got renegade points and I wasn't that mad, haha. There's so much fun in the interactions that I just have a good time anyways~

I have so many thoughts about TIM (The Illusive Man) and Cerberus.... theories evolving galore............... and like, what the hell!! Omega 4 going to the center of the galaxy is such a cool twist, goddamn - though my heart still breaks at losing Kaiden (his line if you haven't romanced him?? about feeling like he lost a limb when he lost you??? holy shit.... but I also can't blame him for not trusting Cerberus to the point of it affecting his ability to trust Shepard... like fuck Shep go after himmmm) I'm really excited to see where that goes since he comes back in 3, and what the fuck happens with Cerberus bc while I love the fact that obviously there are a lot of people in it for the right reasons, doing good work, there are those that are doing the opposite, and I have a very bad feeling about where TIM will end up landing....

All that said though I need to do the Reaper IFF mission (where I'm lightly spoiled as to getting That Boy, but not how/what happens to make it so - just that it's apparently wise to have all your side missions done before getting him...) and the actual Omega 4 jump. So we'll see what happens and what I think about it from there heheh!

You've got a nice little flute of wine, to calm the nerves of course, when suddenly you get bumped rather harshly from behind!

You turn on a dime and come face to face with... Oh

There, only inches away, stands the George Harrison, with a mouthful of food, a wrapped up snack for later, and eyes wide as saucers

It's a race to see who can apologise first

While you over come your shock at nearly cursing out one of the stars of the show, he hurriedly chews and swallows the last of his snack

"I'm so sor-" "-eg your pardon!"

You overlap each other with your apologies, causing a similar scenario again as you both accept the other's apology

The two of you chuckle a bit at that

At this point, George feels like he's just now getting a good look at you

He wonders if you're a recent hire, bc otherwise he certainly would've noticed the most beautiful woman in the building before now

Suddenly a touch self conscious, he wipes the crumbs from the corners of his mouth and scrambles for a way to make small talk

It's not really his forte, you see

Luckily, you come in to save him

You cock your head to look at his napkin of snacks

"What have you got there?"

Now when you meet John, I think you approach him!

He's backstage taking a smoke

You'd think he's just having a quick break to relax before filming starts, but the way he's looking around, shifting his weight, and fiddling with his outfit says it all

For one thing, getting to know more then just your co-stars is a bit of a relief

You wink at him and walk off to your dressing room

John waits a moment until your out of sight, weighing what just happened in his mind

Now Paul I think is the one guy of the four to seek you out!

You're relaxing in your dressing room adding just a few small touch ups to your lipstick and so on until you're on

When the gentle knock comes to your door, you assume it's your assistant come to fetch you

You check the time and then hurry over to answer the door

"Yes yes, I-"

Paul is standing with his hands clasped behind his back, a respectful distance from your door

When he'd heard you were the leading lady of this film, he knew he simply had to see you in person

He's a bit of a fan himself you see, and he can tell you right now, the camera doesn't do you half justice

Paul's mouth forms a little "O" as he looks you up and down so quick, it's almost subtle

Not at all impressed, you look at him expectantly, but try to hold back any attitude

"Can I help you, Mr. McCartney?"

He snaps out of his daydream and at last looks at you with the respect you deserve

"Oh, my apologies love, I just wanted to greet my co-star!"

Paul gingerly takes your hand and kisses your knuckles

Alright, maybe you're a little impressed

"I've heard so much about you, I couldn't believe it when they told me you were going to be a part of our little film"

He laughs, and then clears his throat awkwardly

"Sorry, I guess I'm just something of a fan"

You're a bit taken aback to see Paul, the ladies man himself, McCartney acting flustered, but what a compliment for one of the Beatles to be a fan of you

Needless to say, you're nice about his being awkward and hang around for a little conversation

He tells you about all the movies he's seen you in and how wonderful a job he thought you did

You're really enjoying the moment, after all, what a rare one it is! Until your assistant comes to fetch you and Paul for filming

"Oh yes, we'll be right along!"

Paul calls after your assistant and more or less shoos them away

Once you two are alone again, Paul fidgets a moment fishing around in his pockets

"Now I know you get this a lot-"

He pulls out a newspaper article and a pen, then holds them out to you

Upon closer inspection, it's the headline from when you were recognized for your first acting award

"But could I please get your autograph?"

Then he leans in and whispers, "and please don't tell the lads..."

You laugh and assure him his secret is safe as you sign your name in flowing script before handing him his prize

Paul looks like a child in a candy shop, he's so excited

You smile sweetly and begin heading towards the filming site

Before you know it Paul trots up beside you, following close

He looks from you to his newspaper clipping once and then twice before his eyes linger on you

"You know, I have a record from one of your plays back at the hotel... Could you-?"

At first you shoot him a look, but the puppy eyes he's giving you assures you he means no funny business, so you promise him ❤️

You meet Ringo backstage in between sets, right before your scene

And when I tell you the first time Ringo sees you, he immediately knows he would die for you...

!!! RINGO. IS. STAR STRUCK !!!

You're already gorgeous as is, so when his first time seeing you is all done up with your hair, outfit, and makeup for the movie he's just BLOWN AWAY

And as he should be 💅🏻

There's still a decent bit of time before he needs to take his place or anything like that, which is good bc his brain is in a whole other dimension rn

Now you're REALLY trying not to laugh

You give his hand a shake, brushing off any awkward feelings, and introduce yourself

Ringo repeats your name aloud, looking now as though he's been transported into a dream

That's your name? He loves that name! How did you know!

After a moment of awkward silence while you let him process, he thankfully seems to return to reality

"Ahem, sorry, I didn't mean to bother you"

He looks away quickly, now starting to realize he's made himself out to be quite the fool

"Well I feel rather silly, uh"

He scratches his neck and sneaks a glance up at you

Thankfully, you're very understanding! You have a lot of fans, and his behavior isn't quite unheard of in your experience

"Oh, no no! It's no trouble at all!"

You give a genuine laugh and tell him you're always glad to meet a fan

Ringo responds with a little humor to relieve any last traces of tension or awkwardness and then laughs his deep, goofy laugh

You contemplate what a strange but wonderful sound it is

And you know? wouldn't mind sticking around to hear it again...

Besides, he's clearly already very interested in you

That, and it's nice to meet a gentle soul amongst your fan base, rather then the clamoring men and women you're used to

Ringo smiles at you with pure admiration, before picking up some easy small talk with you, just as though you're anyone else

It's at that moment you officially fall for him

and max laughs at that, but then it goes kind of quiet bc like… they’re sitting on the couch in her otherwise empty apartment as they speak… and they both kind of realize at the same time that there’s no reason to not start right then, and now mike isn’t quite so sure that he actually thought this through bc wow he really didn’t consider the potential consequences of this, especially bc he’s just recently been beginning to realize that he really likes max, like maybe more than a friend, but he’s still in the denial stage but that doesn’t stop his heart from racing at the thought of touching her, kissing her…

and hes all like “so… when do you wanna… like should we now? how should we-”

Apologies for the late reply, anon, and thank you for this thought prompt. Yes, I have read up on this a bit. His name has been a point of intrigue for me too bc there are several curious allusions to its famous angelic source (whether by accident or design, idk, it’s fun either way). It is a question (”who is like God?”) not a statement, and while I personally do not subscribe to the undercover boss theory, i.e. that Michael is the show’s version of God in disguise, I think he might be shaping up to be the show’s unique approximation of Michael the Archangel.

Regarding religion, TGP doesn’t take its cues from one specific tradition, but Saint Michael’s character isn’t confined to Christian scriptural literature, either, so developing a figure like him on the show is entirely possible, imo, and in S2 our Michael does transition into roles that are traditionally associated with the Archangel who’s both referred to as the “merciful” and the “most dread of the six-winged”.

What’s also entirely possible is that Michael is simply named after TGP’s “architect” Mike Schur and there is no bigger complexity to it, but even then we’re left with a demon who is the odd one out among its kind and wears an archangel’s name. It is just too good not to overthink it, so here are my results behind the cut bc LENGTH (and GIFs):

St. Michael always appears in the context of major drama involving crisis, impending judgment, doom, and salvation. Despite being a comedy, TGP operates within the same basic framework, too, so we are on track.

The examples you mention above are the most dramatic and show-off-y in the lore. They capture one side of St. Michael: the warrior-angel, ruthless commander of the heavenly host and an agent of judgment as presented in the Book of Revelation. This is his most well-known image, the whole “soldier dude impales the big bad devil/dragon” aesthetic popularized during the Middle Ages. And sometimes he’s also depicted with the scales of judgment but it’s less common. Bottom line: he’s the one who always steps in and pushes back when the devil and/or demons try to rig the soul scale to take what isn’t theirs.

Our Michael has yet to fully reveal his overtly aggressive-combative side, but it doesn’t mean he doesn’t have it in him (after all, he used to literally turn bad people inside out - among other things - before he earned a desk job). He’s still a work in progress in an ongoing story, but we’ve already seen him get real testy with Trevor over Eleanor, dabble in post-mortem individual soul-weighing, impose “trials of judgment”, and finally conclude that the bad people he was entrusted with are not deserving of the kind of punishment they were sentenced to.

He’s willing to step in and push back when he feels demons are out of line or if the “system” itself is unfairly harsh on humans. So he may not be a stereotypical warrior but he’s already fighting for humans in his own way (which is increasingly confrontational but still relies more on brain than brawl). He may not be a commander or have an army, but he’s already shifted away from being a blind follower to making his own choices, so who knows where he will end up at the end of the story.

Now the other side of St. Michael’s dual character, the “merciful and long-suffering” side, is already evident in our Michael. The Archangel is primarily a guardian, famous for protecting and championing the human race. He is a compassionate ally, an “agent of revealed knowledge” and an intercessor. He shows concern for sinners and advocates on their behalf. He’s an “ambassador-of-sorts to the heavenly court” who’s capable of interceding with God and mitigate judgment. In III Enoch, he also laments the Lord’s unwillingness to save His people.

Yes, this is our Michael. He has a soft spot for humankind and grows unhappy with the afterlife system he functions within. First, he refuses to hand over his humans to Shawn and the other demons, then he goes to plead with Judge Gen on their behalf and for the re-tuning of the “soul weighing system” since it’s clearly badly failing those who are grey in moral character, i.e. most human beings.

In the Testament of Abraham (ToA) there’s a somewhat similar scene where St. Michael and Abraham encounter a soul whose good and bad deeds are equally balanced. Angels keep a detailed record of human activity, both good and bad, which are balanced and tested, then the result either warrants punishment or salvation. This brings the ticker tape room and the point system of TGP to mind + the central question Eleanor repeatedly voices: what about those who fall in the middle? Abraham asks St. Michael to help intercede on behalf of the “grey soul” in front of God, which the Archangel does and they are successful. Our Michael advocates his humans’ case in front of Judge Gen and she agrees to put his claims to one final test.

St. Michael is set over humankind in general but sometimes he’s closely associated with specific individuals, their life and death, acting as a personal guide and guardian, a permanent companion and protector of their souls. ToA again is a good example of this but the Virgin Mary also enjoys St. Michael’s special attention (Assumption Apocrypha). He escorts her on a tour of the underworld where he shows her how the sinful are punished, helps her intercede on their behalf, and later on he is the one who conveys her to heaven, which is also among his core duties. As a psychopomp, St. Michael facilitates the transition from this life to the next. He’s charged with the care and guidance of the dead and can also convey souls from hell.

Our Michael is the first to meet, greet, and give a tour to Eleanor & Co. after they die. Even though it’s a ruse, he still helps orient them (everything he says about the point system, the rules of the afterlife is, after all, true), and he continues to act as their afterlife guide and protector when they decide to team up and later sneak into Bad Place HQ. He’s also the one who gets them through the portal to see the Judge since he promised to take them to the Good Place and that is the only way.

As for the tour of punishment, we have the perfect TGP parallel in the Museum of Human Misery. And our Michael - despite being fond of human stuff & the gang in general - is def partial to one of them by the name of Shellstrop. Also, he is literally trying to take unfairly judged souls from hell (TBP) to heaven (TGP), which - similarly to going up against your misbehaving coworkers and your superior - is a very St. Michael-y thing to do.

St. Michael is also associated with water (rain and thunder in the Qur'an) and agriculture. In The Shepherd of Hermas, for example, he is shown caring for a garden which represents hope and redemption. Our Michael’s connection to water/rain/thunder & agriculture is not the most tangible but one can always reach a bit by noting details like

sounds of water in the waiting room of his office in the pilot when Eleanor “wakes up” there after her death + there is water everywhere in his neighborhood (fountains, lakes, rivers, sea).

he also messes with Eleanor by unleashing two storms

he does keep a wooden dragonfly figurine on his desk and dragonflies are associated with water (+ acc to folklore dragonflies weigh human souls and they were believed to be dragons once - all these connect back to St. Michael too)

also, the neighborhood Michael creates and cares for is a garden of sorts in the middle of a desert region, and the result of this experiment is what provides hope for avoiding eternal suffering.

Last but not least (my favorite tidbit), in the Ethiopian Orthodox Bible, it is mentioned that St. Michael is “skilled in song” and… well…

well here is how my past 3-5 dates w joel have gone this past week

so! ive been spending the night w him p much every other night. so our 4th date was like 8 days ago. i got there and i THOUGHT we were gonna be in his room again but we were in his room for 2 seconds then he came in like “oh btw my roommates are making us go in the living room and be social” so i was like ..................................................rip i was like here i go its time for the caleb and leeann applebees date 2.0 :/ so we went in to the living room and it was with marissa and lindsey bc his other roommate was out. so everyone was like wtf are we gonna do so after some talking joel decided we would all watch the babadook on netflix since we were talking about the meme and most of us hadnt seen it. i hate scary movies but i figured i could get through it since i had joel to hold on to and since the babadook is like a meme now. so yeah it was fine i got along ok w the roommates and the movie wasnt that scary except for one part. there was one point where i felt like i was starting to shut down a little and i was feeling bad about possibly ruining things again but i asked joel afterwards and he didnt even notice lmao so i dont think it was as bad as i thought

lindsey went to bed halfway through the movie so it was just me joel and marissa by the end. after the movie marissa went into her room and joel and i went back to his room. idk if this next part happened at this point or if it happened on our next date bc its hard for me to keep the timeline straight since it all happens so fast lol so regardless of what day it was this was the next significant thing that happened w me and joel

so i was watching him play overwatch or something and his brother called him on the phone and they had a long conversation about joels financial situation while i was just sitting there lol. so afterwards joel put his head in my lap and explained all his problems to me about how hes so stressed out with money and stuff. and like obv i felt really bad for him bc that sucks. BUT i actually kinda liked it bc i liked how vulnerable and genuine he was being! it made me feel a lot closer to him. then we watched these olds 80s (?) game shows w his head still in my lap (one of them was like some knockoff of snatch game but w regular celebrities instead of drag queens omg) and he had the FUNNIEST commentary about all the old commercials and stuff lol i havent laughed that hard in a LONG time so it was really nice
