A certain mega-narc was noticeably absent from Victoria’s big 50th birthday bash here in London. I wonder if this was a bruise to M’s ego… Any thoughts on this? She basically has paid PR friends who are d-list actresses like herself and its pretty pathetic. I bet Meghan envisioned her life being very different than the sad reality it actually is, as she’s still a massive fraud and a failure, but now on a global scale. I don’t think she will ever get to the crème de la crème of elites that she craves to be like and obsesses over. Even Misha Nonoo married better than poor old Meg. I think Harry is well and truly stuck with her because she will never find anyone as weak or as spineless or as stupid as him. He’s not wealthy enough for her lazy good for nothing ass, but beggars can’t be choosers - and she has been a desperate grifter and beggar all her life. I truly believe this toxic marriage is her ultimate karma and it couldn’t happen to a nicer person.

The Beckhams put a stop to Meghan's PR shenanigans with their family in 2021. The cracks have been there since 2018.

Sometime in late 2017/early 2018, Meghan accused Victoria of leaking about her to the tabloids. Harry called David to confront them about it and there was a row. Supposedly they patched things up and the Beckhams were invited to the wedding. (Revealed in 2022)

Harry asked David to be an ambassador for the Sydney Invictus Games and David agreed. But when the Games were actually taking place, Harry refused to meet, see, or speak to David. It pissed David off and he soured on Harry.

Meghan asked Victoria for free clothes. Victoria declined; she doesn't give freebies. (First revealed in 2019, resurfaced again in 2023.)

Fast forward to 2021 when the Beckhams' son has gotten engaged and they're planning the wedding. Meghan issued several PR stories and a blind item about how the Beckhams are scheduling their son's wedding around the Sussexes' availability.

The 2021 PR manifestation for invites to the Beckham wedding seems to have been the final straw that broke the Beckhams' back. It's pretty plausible, IMO; there haven't been any articles, stories, or blind items about the Sussexes and Beckhams hanging out. In fact, the Beckhams have been pretty solidly aligned with the Waleses since early 2022 and appear to have cut all ties with the Sussexes.

July 2022. David and William do a mental health thing together.

December 2022. David leaves the FIFA Qatar World Cup for a whirlwind trip to Boston to present at Earthshot 2022.

May 2023. David gives King Charles a jar of honey from his bees. (Becks got into beekeeping during the pandemic. It's covered in their documentary.)

July 2023. David and Victoria throw a huge party in Miami to celebrate Messi's first game with the team. All the celebs from LA attend. No Sussexes.

April 2024. Sussexes are in Miami for polo party. No Beckhams. Not even a hint or trace of PR - in the olden days, Meghan would've at least tried to manifest a lunch or cocktails.

And of course, we can't forget David queueing for 12+ hours to pay his respects to The Queen. If that's not a sign to the rest of us that he's exclusively TeamBRF, then I don't know what is.

Red Bull and its everchanging driver lineup will forever be interesting to me. The Red Bull ecosystem/family/industrial complex, whatever it is that you want to call it, is something that knows no stability whatsoever.

Very rarely is there stability in the driver lineup for both Red Bull-affiliated teams.

Recency bias may have us thinking that this revolving door of Red Bull drivers has only occurred since 2016 or 2018. Because the Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber lineup was stable, as was the Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen lineup. Not to mention that Yuki Tsunoda and Pierre Gasly were teammates for two seasons! And let's not forget the days of David Coulthard and Mark Webber.

Despite those examples of stable lineups, there is always instability occurring at one of the teams, if not both.

Looking through the years, I compiled a list of every driver who's driven for Red Bull or Toro Rosso/AlphaTauri. So, every new driver, every single race change, mid-season swap. If there was a change, then it is listed.

In bold are the drivers currently driving for either Red Bull or AlphaTauri with the most recent first GP start. Lines 28 and 30 with Kyvat and Gasly mark the period in which Toro Rosso became AlphaTauri. The duration counts how many days are between the first GP and the last GP.

Some fun facts that I learned while making this:

Christian Klien and Vitantonio Liuzzi were supposed to trade off every four races in 2005. However, after Liuzzi's four races, Klien finished off the season.

Robert Doornbos is the only Red Bull/Toro Rosso driver to not have a full time drive within the Red Bull industrial complex.

Daniil Kyvat was replaced for the second time in less than two years during his 2016-2017 run. He was replaced by Pierre Gasly for Malaysia and Japan in 2017 due to underwhelming results, then returned for the US GP when Gasly was competing in a Super Formula race. In the end, despite Toro Rosso saying that Gasly was not a permanent replacement and Kyvat was still a part of the Red Bull family, he did not finish out the season and would not return until 2019, making it his third time leaving and coming back to Toro Rosso. (And funnily enough, his 2019 return was to replace Gasly.)

Drivers who have driven for the longest in the Red Bull industrial complex:

Max Verstappen: 3170 days and counting (also has the longest run with only one team - 2757 days and counting)

Sebastian Vettel: 2520 days

Mark Webber: 2443 days

Daniel Ricciardo: 2379 days

Daniil Kyvat: 1793 days

Drivers who have driven the least total days:

Robert Doornbos: 21 days

Liam Lawson: 42 days

Nyck De Vries: 126 days

Brendon Hartley: 399 days

Alex Albon: 469 days

The table, while helpful, doesn't fully allow us to visualize just how unstable the driver lineups are. So, I made a timeline:

(please ignore that driver names aren't in the same places between pictures. the website I was using only allowed 18 events at a time, so there was some shuffling around.)

The driver changes on the top portion in each picture is Red Bull and on the bottom portion, it is Toro Rosso/AlphaTauri.

Maybe this is normal? You know, F1` is a sport that changes all the time. Every year we've had sprint races, it has been different. So, maybe driver changes so often are just the norm?

While there is no direct comparison (as is the case for almost everything in Formula 1), two other current teams on the grid had their first races in the 21st century -- Mercedes and Haas.

Mercedes might have one of the most stable driver lineups. Since 2010, they have only had five drivers. With the exception of George Russell filling in for Lewis Hamilton in 2020 for one race, all drivers raced every race they were supposed to.

Haas, similar to Mercedes, finished driver contracts and didn't make mid-season changes. The only exception was Pietro Fittipaldi completing the 2020 season after Romain Grosjean's crash.

Again, it's not a direct comparison, but there is a very visible difference.

Mercedes has had a stable lineup because they had their world champion driver and a teammate who could be there to pick up the points. Red Bull technically has the same with Max and Sergio now and did have the same with Sebastian and Mark.

But there's a key difference between the Red Bull industrial complex and teams like Mercedes and Haas. Red Bull, for as long as it has been in Formula One, has had a neverending list of drivers waiting in the wings. The Red Bull juniors are like a hydra - you cut off one head and two grow back. One Red Bull junior leaves, there's at least a handful to replace him.

Haas can't develop junior drivers and Mercedes tends to focus their attention on just one or two juniors. They don't have a list of drivers that they can pick and choose to replace a driver. They also don't have a junior team from which they can shuffle things around.

I doubt that Red Bull will ever have the same long-standing driver lineups like other teams, but I am curious to see if the reduced junior drivers will allow for some stability in AlphaTauri (or Racing Bulls I guess).

driving ten hours in one day is ideal for listening to albums and i listened to almost every joywave album on my way home from the eclipse. american indie rock band from rochester ny, i have loved them since early college. i think they were made in a lab to get to stuck in my head bc they tend toward lower register synthier tracks that deceptively amble cheerfully along and talk about dealing with fear. songs for a male protagonist to splash water on his face, look at himself in the mirror haunted by what he's seeing, linger in his children's bedroom doorways, and then drive off into the night for the finale.

i think i listened to this song for an hour on loop yesterday bc the chorus so perfectly got stuck in my brain

they have spent a lot of time figuring out how to have longevity as a band: "The record kind of attempts to figure that out but it doesn’t end in a definitive place. For me personally, it’s just to create things that matter as long as I possibly can, and to make things that are going to outlive me that people can hang onto for at least five to six years after I’m dead." they are deeply cranky about virality/content churn, especially in this interview. i appreciate this in an artist.

my best friend real-life influenced me into reading this book and i have since managed to convince four other people to read this book bc i won't shut up about it. the descriptions of the physicality of magic and how different kinds of magic and different families of spells Feel was only part of the coolest magical system ive ever read about. this is not a dark romance but it is a little brutal in a brothers grimm/this is how battles shake out sometime kind of way. i think a companion piece of media written from the Dragon's point of view would nicely parallel that post going around about how Howl's Moving Castle the movie is from Howl's point of view and Howl's Moving Castle the book is from Sophie's point of view. i would die for Agnieszka.

i don't know if i've ever read a book with seven points of view before? i think it was well handled, but it required significantly more brainpower than screaming through three of kingfisher's light fantasy/romances in two days and it threw me a little. saying this book is about debts cheapens it a little, i think. it is concerned with debts but also safety, and it is very much about cost in a very fairytale way and in the horrible everyday calculus of survival way.

Swordheart, Paladin's Hope, and Paladin's Strength by T. Kingfisher. god these go down So smooth. kingfisher has a niche and i respect that. i am reading the Saint of Steel tetralogy out of order bc even four library systems can only do so much, and i don't think you particularly need to read them in order.

i'm a bit cranky that the terfs took feminist fantasy from me, bc when the protagonist got her period in Paladin's Strength a little alarm bell went off in my head and i had to put it down and google some stuff (the answer is no btw). there is a way to write female-focused lightly historical fantasy without being terfy and kingfisher does it, but it's so rare that i was genuinely expecting some sort of. weird agenda to be at play.

these were all fun, fast reads and i don't have much else to say about them! not that they are better or worse than novik's books but they will not live in my head quite as long. there are fewer tantalizing hints about systems of magic that make me want to graph things out u kno

kanopy has Animation April as their focus this month which is how i saw The King and the Mockingbird (1980, dir. Paul Grimault) which is a longer piece adapted from something he'd been working on since the 40s.

This animated fantasy tale follows the romance between a lovely shepherdess and a handsome chimney sweep. The land's imperious king falls for the beautiful woman and tries to thwart her relationship, but a kind mockingbird assists the lovers in evading the ruler. At the king's command, the chimney sweep and his bird friend are imprisoned, and they must escape in order to rescue the young man's true love.

GOD the animation in this. there are so many references to early animation and silent film. there are so so so many gadgets and methods of conveyance in an absolutely architecturally dizzying castle. there is a ROYAL MECH that plays its own theme music. the backgrounds have a very Chuck Jones quality in that they are exactly as detailed as they need to be for the gag to work. the castle is lush and beautiful but not dizzyingly, overwhelmingly lush. there is a clear vision to every shot and a clear path your eye is meant to travel, which i appreciate very much. i think a lot of technically impressive animation (i am specifically thinking of the Nimh movies) muddies itself by trying to jam too much on the screen. just a fucking delight of a film. a delicious confection

painted a frame (it was a dead basic michaels frame i got at a yard sale and it was giving little boy's room) and framed a thing. this is a poster that came as a freebie with a 1997 album, and i actually bought this CD case without the CD inside bc i was so delighted with the poster. scuff sanded the frame with 120 grit, i went with a matte black acrylic bc i felt that disguised how the poster did not quite fit the frame a little better? and also bc it was what i had in the house.

i did not bother with a mat, i just used the lining paper with the stock photo and painted the back of that. do not do this with particularly valuable or beloved pieces. i do not think this is necessarily acid free and there is some danger that the paint may transfer to the back of the poster over time.

BRF Reading - 22nd of September 2023

Cards drawn on the 22nd of September, 2023

Question: Does Meghan have blackmail material on King Charles?

Note: The cards in this reading are all upright.

Interpretation: Yes, or at least she thinks she has blackmail material on him.

Card One: The Four of Wands

This is a card of home, family, celebrations, and weddings.

Meghan was a part of the family from her wedding in May 2018 until Megxit in January 2020. That gave her one year and nine months to collect data on members of the BRF, plus the engagement period (Nov 2017 to May 2018), another six months, plus whatever Harry has told her.

The energy of this card is strongly of weddings - weddings and celebrations. It may refer to when Meghan officially became a member of the BRF as per above, but it can also refer to something happening before her wedding or around the time of her wedding that she has information about and that she has carried with her as a type of insurance ever since. The wedding could even have been a payment for her not releasing this material.

What is feeling right energetically is that something happened around the time of her wedding that gave her blackmail material. Saying that it was connected to her wedding doesn't feel as right as saying that it was something that she found when she was snooping around as Harry's fiancée, and she immediately latched onto it as insurance and kept all the details she could find about it. The idea of using whatever it was as insurance is coming through strongly.

Card Two: The Seven of Swords

This is the thief card, and the energy of this card is of theft. Meghan crept into somewhere where she wasn't supposed to be, like Orestes on the card sneaking into the palace, and she took something that wasn't hers to take. She may have literally snuck onto an area in one of the palaces and taken something from there - something that was lying around on a table? I am seeing a table with papers on it in my mind. She could also have seen something or over heard something that was not for her ears, but she definitely came into the possession of something - some knowledge or item - that was not hers to have.

The other meanings of the Seven of Swords are lies, trickery, cunning, scheming, and so on, and that is definitely the sort of energy that applies to this situation. I think that Meghan saw something or heard something or took something, lied about having seen, heard or taken it, and then used the information to get what she wanted in the short term.

The BRF definitely know that she has this information, in whatever form. The information feels still relevant today, but less relevant than it was when she took or saw it - as if the blackmail value of whatever she took or saw is declining over time.

Card Three: The Tower

The Tower represents a sudden, shocking event that completely destroys part of all of your life, leaving you to rebuild from the rubble. This is the value of whatever it was that Meghan saw or took - or what she thought was the value of the information - something that would completely destroy the BRF if it was released to the public.

This card tells me that Meghan did blackmail the BRF with her information (the sudden, shocking event represented by the Tower). However, I'm not getting 'complete destruction' energy from this card. I'm getting that the BRF were alarmed, yes, and they wanted the information kept quiet/document(s) returned, definitely, but that if Meghan had somehow been able to publish the information it would not have been the complete disaster that she imagined. The BRF would have taken a heavy hit, but they would have recovered and survived. It was not as strong a threat as Meghan thought it was.

The other thing this action did is expose Meghan to the BRF for what she was. Some members saw through her before this, some did not believe she could be this bad, but after she was exposed as the thief and/or the first time she tried blackmail everyone knew exactly what she was and what she was capable of doing. In a way it was a Tower moment for Meghan herself, as she destroyed her standing in the BRF with this action.

Card Four: The Six of Pentacles

This is the card of charity, of giving or receiving material help. Pentacles is the suit of money and status (and other material concerns), and the energy of money is coming through strongly here.

The Six of Pentacles is a card of charity, giving and receiving it. King Charles was involved in several charities as Prince of Wales, and he has had more than one scandal concerning the money side of his charities. It is possible that whatever it was that Meghan saw/took/overheard concerned the finances of one or more charities of the Prince of Wales, and that it showed something unethical or morally wrong was going on with the monies for those charities. This is supported by the preceding two cards: The Tower as a financial card means financial loss, and the Seven of Swords as a financial card means shady business dealings (along with fraud, scams, theft, and so on).

The other energy of this card concerning money was that Meghan was paid off by Prince Charles (as he was then) for whatever information she had collected by dubious means. This is not something that I can say definitely happened, but it is coming across as a strong possibility. If that is the case, any items taken (documents etc) are back in the hands of the BRF, but Meghan still has the knowledge of what she saw/took/heard to hold over King Charles.

I'm referring to King Charles as the one who paid Meghan off and who was implicated by what she found out because that is what I asked in the question.

Card Five: The Hierophant

This is the card for institutions, and in my readings it usually represents the BRF, as it does here. It is also a card of marriage, and as such it echoes the wedding energy of the Four of Wands which started this reading.

The energy of this card is of an institution - the BRF - that has closed ranks against an outside threat. They are still around, still strong, still continuing their work. Meghan may have blackmailed them and stolen from them but she has been unable to bring them down (which is a source of continual frustration to her, just incidentally).

Coming after the Six of Pentacles, this card supports the idea that if Meghan was paid off, it was done by a member of the BRF (I am saying Charles as that is who I asked about).

As a card of marriage, the Hierophant tells me that the BRF is going to be very careful about who marries into it in the future, to try and prevent another Meghan from entering the fold. This fits with the shut off, closed ranks, drawbridge up energy I am getting from this card.

As a card of money, this card tells me that the money of the BRF is safe from any depredations by Meghan. It is a card of literally keeping your money safe. The coffers have been shut and they will not be reopening for Meghan.

Underlying Energy One: The Ten of Pentacles

Underlying Energy Three: The Ten of Wands

The Ten of Pentacles is the card of family and legacy - being able to provide for your family financially and being able to leave a legacy to your children and grandchildren. In this reading, this card speaks of the legacy of the BRF as an institution - its values, its traditions, and the meaning it holds for the British public.

The energy of the Ten of Swords is betrayal. Meghan stabbed the BRF in the back and betrayed them with her initial theft (seen/heard/documents), and then she stabbed them again when she used that information for short term gains (of course, she then continued to stab the BRF in the back with Megxit, her interviews, and her continual use of PR to both paint them as the worst people ever and to ride on the coattails of their events to keep herself in the news). However, since leaving the BRF, the energy is saying that she has not used what she stole against them. Either she is keeping it in reserve for something, or it has already come out in the media, or no one will believe her or publish whatever this knowledge is.

The Ten of Wands is a card of burden, of carrying a heavy burden that you can not put down. It is also a card of seeing your dreams turn to ash around you. This is the effect of the stolen knowledge on Meghan. Her actions during her betrayal have now become a burden to her because those actions had consequences that she did not like, and the result of those consequences is seeing her dreams of power, influence etc crumble to dust around her.

I've grouped these cards together because they are all Tens. We have three out of the four Ten cards of the tarot here. Tens are final cards, the end of things, cycles coming to a close. Having three of these as the underlying energy tells me that whatever threat Meghan's stolen knowledge was to the BRF, it is currently over. The money and status part of it is closed (Ten of Pentacles), the thoughts of others and the strategy part of it is closed (Ten of Swords), the act of betrayal is over (ditto), and any burden that this was on the BRF, especially with respect to the media, is also closed. The only avenue that is not closed is the Ten of Cups, the happy family card, using family and emotional blackmail to get her way, and I don't expect that to close as long as Meghan stays married to Harry.

Conclusion:

Meghan did have blackmail material on King Charles. Something happened around the time of her wedding or after her wedding, where she snuck into somewhere that she wasn't supposed to be and saw or heard something that she wasn't supposed to know about. It is quite likely that she stole something as well, and then lied about stealing it. Meghan thought that what she had would destroy the BRF completely, but that was not the case. It may have destroyed part of them, but the rest of the institution would rise again and continue. The information is likely to have been about Prince Charles, his charities, and money issues, and it is very likely that Prince Charles paid Meghan off to get back whatever it was that she stole. Meghan did use her information for short term gains but ended up with the BRF closing ranks against her. She may have tried to use the information to destroy the BRF through the media, but the media would not publish the information. This could be because the scandal had already broken.

The value of the information that Meghan stole has declined over time. She has failed to use it to destroy the legacy of the BRF and she has to live with the knowledge that she was not able to actualise her dreams of revenge. She was just not powerful enough. Three out of four avenues to the BRF are now closed to her - wealth and status, reputation, and a media crusade against them. The only avenue she has left to hurt them is through emotions/family, i.e. through Harry.

So, what's the real appeal in Ed/May? I see that this popular, but over all the show I see aproximately zero positive moments/development between them, including in the finale. Nothing positive, I can't think of anything that wasn't one-sided or outright negative. And I think Ed deserves faaar better than her; I don't see him just forgeting all she made and sudenly falling in love with her (fanfics where they're just dating out of nowhere specially irks me) without any explanation or development.

The appeal seems just ''pair the dumb/goofy ones'' (why not Ed/Nazz? Or Ed/Rolf? Or even Ed/Jonny?)

Honestly, I'm under the impression people only ship it as a Beta Couple for Edd/Eddy, and nothing else more. Your reasoning?

Wow I’m actually pretty glad I got this question because I’ve had a half baked post on this very subject that’s been sitting in my drafts for weeks. Now I have a reason to actually share it.

And from the jump, no I don’t ship Ed and May solely because I’m an eddeddy shipper. I actually see some interesting potential here! I also ship Ed wildly because he’s just a lover boi in my mind. Perhaps even most wildly out of the entire cast of the show: I have the receipts for dabbling in edrolf and ednazz but I can really only imagine those pairings as little flings.

So what is it about edmay that works?

Of the three Kanker sisters, May actually seems to be the only one to genuinely have a crush on her preferred Ed. It goes beyond the typical taunting and harassing her sisters subject the other Eds to. The intro to Hanky Panky Hullabaloo is a prime example of this: May makes a mushy valentine and Marie and Lee make fun of her for it. Afterwards the two talk about May behind her back: “Now we know who got mom’s genes.” “Hormones”. I think it's an interesting summary of how the sisters have differing perspectives on relationships and how they think about boys/men. While Marie and Lee are more disenchanted by romance, they see May as more naive and prone to getting emotionally attached in the same way their mom probably falls for one disappointing man after another. Anyway, the point is that I think May cares whether Ed reciprocates those feelings while Marie and Lee don’t with Eddy or Edd.

Now we have Ed’s reactions to May. In the earlier seasons, he doesn’t seem as averse to the Kanker harassment. Honestly sometimes he’s sort of enjoying it or just not bothered at all. I don’t think Ed generally would show his interests or feelings in a very typical way. Actually the most damning evidence that he might actually be attracted at all to May or just girls period are the moments where he is acting the most repulsed by them. We are talking about a 12 year old after all, probably a bit panicked by some new hormones and feelings about “icky girls”: to me, it reads as the early stages of immature boyish attraction.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t include at least one reference to the Ed-cyclopedia that is Kevin Lordi (as per usual), who got the scoop that the writers toyed with the idea of making Ed and May canon in the earlier seasons, even scraped S2 episode where they are caught kissing in the bushes being the basis for HPH (Lordi 2017, 2018).

So what is in this ship for them? I really like exploring this ship because of many of the parallels I see in their characters. I think it’s safe to say that Ed and May are respective outliers in their trios: May being the younger punching bag to her older sisters, Ed sort of being off on his own planet or plane of existence from Edd and Eddy most of the time. I could see both naturally branching out on their own while the remaining two are prone to buddying up. Other similarities, as you mention, also make them a cute pair: they are goofy, a bit ditzy, naturally kind hearted, a bit off beat, a tad (or a lot) gross. Nothing wrong with that!

Both come from pretty bleak home lives, lacking in support or parental nurturing. For this reason, you see them often compensating by being the nurturing types themselves: Ed being the protective big brother to Sarah and his two best pals, May often playing out a maternal fantasy (more than once she plays mommy and baby in the show; coddling Jimmy in BPS). Now just think of a relationship where these two get together!!! Having an outlet for compassion AND on the receiving end of it. I think they have the potential to have a very sweet relationship ripe for healing and personal growth.

I see them coming to appreciate each other with a bit of time and maturity, maybe striking up a friendship first before actually dating later in their teens or early adulthood. Oddly enough I make lots of parallels between Edd and May as well and could easily imagine some aspects of Edd and Ed’s friendship manifesting in edmay. The biggest factor being what I said about May having this maternal care-taker drive. Seeing as the Kanker sisters just about raised themselves and had to grow up really fast, you end up with a very “parentified” child. And if Edd isn’t the poster child for being a parentified kid I don’t know what… Anyway, in the same way that Edd acts as a stand-in parental figure to Ed I think May would quickly take on a similar role. I’m NOT endorsing this dynamic as 100% positive!!! I think it would be complicated! But it’s an interesting ship dynamic nonetheless and I’m trying to explore that in my aged up AU now.

Ah, yes! Come, gather by the fire, and I shall tell the tale of The Shirt. 'Tis a long tale, so, so grab a snack or a drink. Okay. Good? Then here we go.

PART ONE: A PACT IS FORGED

How it started was July 2017. I got to the venue far too early. I was the only Ghost VIP in line. There were at least twenty Iron Maiden VIPs already there. It was a good time, they were all really nice and had obviously waited for concerts before (this was my first concert outing since 2006 or so). But it was hot. It was so fucking hot, even in the shade. I was wearing a black Ghost shirt I got off Fright Rags but I wasn't going to survive four more hours of sitting outside on the pavement. My brother had just got to the line- he had been looking for a parking spot (technically this concert was his birthday gift; I bought the tickets because he loved Iron Maiden and yes because Ghost). We both agreed to go back to the hotel, grab some food, etc. I had packed another shirt, just a white shirt with a red anatomical heart diagram on it, and decided to change into it. White shirts are better for hot days, right?

Then it's a blur until I met Papa III. I was frozen at the doorway of the photo tent and he opened his arms, his chasuble glittering with intricate beadwork, and he beckoned me with gold talons "come in! Come on in!" I didn't budge. Papa brought his claws together and tilted his head a little, owlish. "I like that shirt you have there," he said. For whatever reason, that broke the ice inside me. I got a hug. I got a picture.

I barely remember the concert now. The A/C was fucked so it was hellishly hot inside. Any time I stopped recording during Maiden's set some old veteran fan would gently grab my shoulder and say "you're gonna wanna record this next bit!" :,) Rock on, old guy who was spending his retirement following Iron Maiden around.

Anyway, the show ended and my brother was trying to get a cab back (we Ubered to the venue from the hotel) and I insisted we wait by the buses. He relented, eventually. XD We waited about an hour with ten or so other Ghost fans. Billy Vanilla regaled us with tales from the road. Ben Cristo (I think that's his name), who had at that point been playing the Nameless Ghoul who played the black and white guitar (I think the fandom calls him Ifrit) came out first and signed all our stuff with the alchemical symbol for fire.

After another half hour, I saw a group on the sidewalk walking towards us. They appeared to be led by a man in a white Misfits shirt and the skinniest skinny jeans I ever saw. He looked ahead and I swear we locked eyes for an instant. I started punching my brother's arm and yelled IT'S HIM IT'S HIM IT'S PAPA PAPA IS HERE. The people went into the bus and him, Papa, Tobias, stopped to say to us all "let me put my things away, I will be back out shortly."

Tobias and Chris Catalyst (played the Nameless Ghoul with the black guitar, aka Aether, until last year) came out with Sharpies and security staff to make sure no pictures were taken. And like I said, Tobias restated how much he liked my shirt. I said, "I actually have two of these, I'll bring you my spare next time I see the band!" He looked genuinely surprised and said "really? Wow, thank you! That's very kind of you!"

PART TWO: THE YEAR OF THE CARDINAL

In May 2018 I saw Ghost again. And Evening with Ghost, it was called. I packed The Shirt and it's twin and flew to Pittsburgh to crash on @csevet 's sofa and drag em to the show. And I got to meet @jayyynine too!! Oh, and Cardinal Copia, we all got to meet him. @csevet and I got to go into the meet and greet photo tent together because we wanted a "family photo" with Copia. According to em, when Copia shook my hand, his gaze went 'face, shirt, face, shirt, face.' Ey insisted he recognised me. I left a gift bag with the security staffer. Inside was several hand-woven bags I made for all the ghouls, and The Shirt. And an SASE because I was feeling cocky, I guess.

Two weeks after the show, the SASE came back. Inside was the card I had provided, along with a Sharpie-scrawled autograph above a THANK YOU next to a little tiny smiling devil face. Literally 😈

Five months later, I got to see Ghost again, wearing The Shirt, my mom in tow. Why? Because she rocks. Anywho, we do the meet and greet. Copia shakes my mom's hand, then goes to grab mine but stops. "That's a cool shirt you have there," he says, gesturing. "You know, I happen to have one just like it." My mom says "that's because they gave you one" and Copia looks over his shoulder at her and says "Yes, I know this."

Mom says that after the pictures I was shaking and yelling "he remembered me" in a "dinosaur shriek noise." I have no memory of this. But the notion that Cardinal Copia- Tobias Forge- had one brain cell with my information stored on it? Well, I can understand why I may have squawked.

PART 3: THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY

In April of 2019 I got tickets for the October show in Hershey, Pennsylvania. I would be meeting up with @csevet again and would drive a rental across the state. No biggie! Well, slight biggie. You see, in September I had a full hysterectomy. My OBGYN and the surgeon *barely* cleared me for travel. But I bought the fucking tickets in APRIL and @csevet got the time off approved at er job so. I couldn't not go.

I had a cane. I was six weeks post op, four weeks actually up out of bed. Ghost's meet and greet crew and the staff of the venue were super accommodating, let us take an elevator to the photo area, someone brought me a folding chair for the lineup. Copia was in his red suit on this leg of the tour. There were so many people, no one had much time to chat with Copia. But I know ...I had the shirt. He took my hand and said gently, "I know we have met before..." I kissed his sideburn.

PART FOUR: PAPA EMERITUS THE FOURTH

Copia was promoted to Papa! Then the world shut down. So for years, nothin'. Then, 2022. Just after my birthday. St. Louis. Ghost.

I had to go. And of course do the meet and greet. Happy birthday to me.

I was alone for this one, for the first time. I felt less alone by talking to other fans, and helping ease the nerves of first timers. Everyone's been a newbie at some point, gatekeeping is for jerks, etc. I was wearing The Shirt and regaling those who would listen with the saga. But I was nervous. I tried to play it off. "Of course he won't remember you," I told myself. "It's been way too long."

Then I get into the tent. Due to the ongoing health concerns there were no hugs or handshakes, and the photos had you and Papa separated by a pane of plexiglass, which would be photoshopped out later. Papa had taken a step from his designated photo spot to explain these things to me, but he stopped mid-sentence, looked me up and down, and said,

"I'm getting like a deja vu here. I have a shirt just like that."

Then his eyes widened and he snapped his fingers and said,

"You gave me it! Yes! Hello, how have you been doing?"

He chatted with me like we were old friends. I told him about graduate school and my hopes for a Masters degree. He said he would love to see me with it.

And then the moment was over. I was overcome with emotions and the group of fans who had gone before me all huddled around and gently sat me down (I guess I looked like I was going to faint) and I started crying and said "after three years he still remembers me" and then "I need to call my mom."

I did also see Ghost this past September, but they weren't doing meet and greets, and as close as I was to the stage, I don't hold hope that me and The Shirt were seen.

PART FIVE: HERE'S TO THE FUTURE

I don't know what the future for Ghost will hold. But I do know that I have been squirreling away money for the next inevitable show. And The Shirt will be ready. Papa III passed it on to Papa IV. Will Papa IV pass it on to Papa V? I don't know, but I am excited to find out.

What Polyamory Does For The It Fandom VS In The St Fandom.

These are some brain worms I've had for a while and I've decided to share, regardless if it makes some people mad. Although that is truly not the intent of this post. Anyways. If you haven't been in the It fandom and only have stayed in the St fandom this post may not make sense but I do encourage you to read it.

I joined the It fandom in 2017. I'm one of those few people who were in the It fandom first before moving over to also join the St fandom in late late 2017/early 2018. I had a blog for consuming content but I didn't start making content until 2020 for the It fandom and more recently and regularly for the St fandom. Anywho what I'm trying to say is that I've seen a lot.

I loved many ships in the It fandom and one of the main ships is Poly Losers Club. This is the first fandom I've seen where a poly ship was one of the more popular ones. Even if someone didn't ship all the Losers, throuple and quatrouples (is that how you say it?) have always been popular in this fandom.

Because it is almost unanimously agreed across the fandom, that whether platonically or romantically, all the Losers love each other. Even the most die hard of reddie shippers, the fandom's most popular ship, can often agree on certain fanon headcannons, Stan and Richie practiced their first kiss on each other, Eddie's first crush was on poor oblivious Bill. And that comes back to the agreement that all the Losers love each other. Ships in this fandom have never had an issue coexisting. If someone shipped something different from someone it was always more like "oh that's not my favorite but I definitely see where you're coming from'" OR they're like "yeah no they're in love too," Hardly ever any belittling or any superiority complexes.

That's what makes being in this fandom fun and easy.

Poly Losers even often features a gay man and a women and I've read many beautiful fics where this is explained as they're more best friends than lovers but Eddie doesn't love Bev any less because she's a woman. This fandom allows Eddie and Bev to have an amazing and emotionally intimate relationship because I feel like this fandom does understand, for the most part, that platonic love is just as important as romantic love.

Now on to the St fandom. There are some poly party shippers out there but they are far and few. And there is SO MUCH shipping discourse. Yes I could talk about Mileven and Byler but come on, it goes beyond that. It's with Jany and Stancy, Ronance and Rockie. Elmax and Lumax, and Steddie and Stonathan. Just about every ship you think of there is an alternate ship that people will fight for. They will belittle you for shipping something they don't, and insist that your ship is nothing but platonic. That,,,that just doesn't happen in the It fandom. You know the joke, "All the Losers had a crush on Bill at one point," I think that in itself says a lot. Bill, the arguably least liked character, (my poor bb), has the joke that all the losers had a crush on him at one point.

I'm getting off track. Anyways I'm not saying that shipping everyone together in a poly sense would fix everything with these shipping wars but i do believe why there was never any shipping wars in the It fandom was because of Poly Losers. Also when I talk about poly in St I mean it like Poly Party and Poly teenage crew. Not together, I hate that I have to clarify that.

In the St fandom, it's just not as universally agreed that everyone loves each other, even in the basic platonic sense. All anyone seems to care about in the St fandom is romantic love. A lot of shippers want to be right, they want to prove that their ship will be cannon which just,,,sucks the fun right out fandom spaces.

Canon, fanon, why can't people just make cute fan art and talk in babbles about thoughts they have on a ship. Why do you have to be right about what's going to be the canon ship? Why do certain people feel the need to put down and even to the extent as far as bullying people who ship something different? I've never seen a fandom so focused on 'canon pairings' like the st fandom. (Side note I was never in the sherlock and supernatural fandoms, I knew to mention this)

The party, like the losers, are friends who have been through turmoil that have bound them together for a lifetime. I don't care what pairing you give me from st, whether it be a platonic or a romantic one, I will tell you that those characters deeply care for each other.

Side note: it's worth a mention that the Duffer brothers originally wanted to film the It remake and when they didn't get it, we got Stranger Things. It can be argued that the Party is based off the Losers club so you know what that means? THEY ALL LOVE EACH OTHER. Take it as platonic or romantic idc.

Again, I don't think that poly party is the answer to ending the shipping wars. I do think however that if people could remember how much the party members mean to each other, that that could make less tiring fandom spaces.

Okay I'm done. I just thought this was an interesting point on how it's been like in the It fandom vs the St fandom.

Wait I was doing tags and I forgot to mention that there are few people who ship Elumax and Stoncy, two throuples and kudos to them. They're just worth a mention, I didn't forget about ya'll

An account like Pleasing would probably have quite robust approvals for a TikTok, I'd say especially with Harry's hand, so I think that chaos was intended. Pleasing's Tik Tok has a clear soundscape that doesn't fit with. So I don't think intern, I do think HS knew and I think it was deleted because he's particular and cares about it being cohesive. Once it went viral they didn't need it the deletion adds to the mystery.

The rings he wore in the TikTok today are ones he wears quite often:

H&S are custom Gucci, he's worn them since 2019 and represent himself. An etched version is available for sale

Stevie Nicks gifted him the large pink stone ring in his first ever show at the Forum for Fine Line's launch in December 2019. He wore that in the Falling Music Video also.

The Ruby Ring is one he has had since May 2017 when his Debut Album came out, I think it is about his solo career, but it's a ruby...

The mosaic ring appeared in 2021 I don’t know the meaning but it’s so pretty! This posts thinks it could be about Robin. Alessandro has a similar ring

The pearl ring has a woman holding the pearl and also appeared in 2021. I have more detail on this here First seen at the Grammy's March 2021, Peace ring not seen much since.

He doesn't talk about them so we can only guess any meaning, also impossible to know if the first time we see a ring is when he got it, unless it changes hands like the Haylor one. The ones wonder if may be to do with Taylor are:

the Rose, he wore this 6 March 2017, just before his first solo album. He wore it all through the promo and was lost at an Ariana Grande Concert in August 2019 and he seemed worried. The reason I wonder if it could be connected to Taylor is the rose. He references roses in LOML Lyric video, she only uses roses in Lyrics, videos in connection to him and he got the rose tattoo while they dated. He wore it on the cover of Rolling Stone when he left the table when the interviewer brought her up.

Haylor Ring - it was hers, she gave it to him in 2014 when Style came out, he wore it up to 2017. It's in his last B&W Instagram in 2016 and on Carpool Karaoke in 2017.

Gucci Lion - he has at least 3 Gucci lion rings, silver with a purple stone, which is a custom combination, gold with a black stone and gold with a purple stone. He got all 3 in 2018, first seen in silver in Japan in August 2018. Taylor wore the earrings from same collection in the lAWYMMD video 10 months before he wore the ring. Gold first seen here October 2018 when a fan found it at Coachella it has an inscription of 'second time's a charm'. Ruby ring, It's also on the Rolling Stone Cover from 2017, and at the Today Show when he played Stockholm Syndrome in May 2017. IDK - it's red, he refers to her as red in his songs (e.g. grapejuice) and they started dating in the Red era and I think it's his favourite album of hers, he refers to it a bit. But this and the Rose may just be about his solo career.

Grateful Dead ring it appeared while they dated in 2014, she referenced it in Delicate.

Peace Ring appeared while they dated in 2013, the timing and that he also wore it during the Falling Music Video along with the Ruby. I have a detailed post about this ring and why it is Haylor.

OSRS Stocks: Brine Sabre

The brine sabre is a weapon in Old-school Runescape that allows you to kill a certain slayer creature without the use of its usual slayer tool - in this case, instead of using a bag of salt to kill a rockslug, you can use the brine sabre to kill rockslugs outright and save time and money. The name, description and location of this item indicates that it's been left sitting in salty water for a long time - but instead of rusting, it's been imbibed with the properties of salt, and so you can kill slugs with it.

I'm gearing up to do a brine sabre grind. It has a 1/512 chance of dropping from an enemy called a Brine Rat, which sounds like a lot until you realise that this weapon only drops from brine rats, there's only one area in the entire game world where brine rats spawn and they're definitely not the strongest mob in the game (level 70). Because of its rarity, utility and awesome look, this weapon currently sits at a value of approx. 289,000 gold pieces on the Grand Exchange.

But what's the history of this item's value throughout its lifespan? This post is all about that, at least according to oldschool.runescape.wiki.

So, the brine sabre is currently coming down from a record peak of its value. Here's the chart for the past month vs the past six months:

So you can see that the brine sabre was at its peak in early-ish September, trading at a value of 310k~. Some time in July, it took a sharp dip to a value slightly north of 170k. The market has been a bit unstable; maybe there was a rash of availability, like someone grinding for brine sabre drops and mass-selling on the GE.

What I find interesting, though, is the lifetime sales of the brine sabre.

The lowest price that the brine sabre ever traded at was 50,000 gold pieces on Wednesday, 31 January 2018.

The highest it ever traded at - leading directly in from its low point - was 700,000 gold pieces on Wednesday, 21st November 2018.

The next highest peak of value was 314k~ on Saturday 9 September 2017:

And the spike in brine sabre's value this past September is the third highest price this item has ever been at, at approx. 310k~.

So why is this the case?

You might think that the brine sabre itself changed - and you'd be right. In July of 2016, the brine sabre gained its ability to kill rockslugs without the use of an extraneous salt item:

But that was in July of 2016. The value of the item reached an all-time high in September 2017, over a year after the change occured, and the price subsequently bottomed out in early 2018. It only reached its all-time peak value of 700k~ at the end of November 2018, almost an entire year after it had cratered to a value of 50,000 gold pieces.

I don't know why any of this happened. Maybe some players grinded brine sabres to the point of deflation, causing ownership to increase so dramatically that the value of the item plummeted. But maybe after the item had lost its value and the glut of brine sabres had dwindled, other players began searching for the sabre on the GE and created new demand, causing the price to surge.

But I'm doubtful of that because the price took eleven months between January and November to go from rock-bottom to all time peak.

A factor that may have played into this is an emote clue for the master clue scroll, requiring you to go deep into the wilderness with the sabre and a bunch of other expensive gear to fight a double agent in the lava dragon pen. That's way fuckin up in the wilderness, close to the very top of it, making you extremely susceptible to pkers as well as risking a violent, dragonfire-fueled death in the search of treasure.

I don't know when the clue was added, but the master clue scroll was added to the game on the 6th of July 2016. At any point past that date, the emote clue requiring the brine sabre could have been added to the game, causing players to look for one on the Grand Exchange.

And why has it peaked again now, six years after it initially broke 300k in 2017? I have no idea, but the value seems to be dropping right now.

What gets me is that the rockslug is a very low-effort and low-value slayer monster. The average value of a rockslug drop is like 112 coins, and the rockslug itself is level 29. To get a brine sabre, you either need to shell out a six-figure sum for it on the Grand Exchange or grind a particular mob that's level 70, over twice as strong as any given rockslug.

I think it's a combination of rarity, its necessity for the master clue scroll and because it looks fucking awesome.

Kind of a magical day

4/10/2023

Kind of a magical day, a total “the mysteries plan” type day——Jury duty morphed into a possible 3 week trial experience!, Although—the chances of me being chosen are less than infinitesimal.

3 jurors told profound Criminal Justice System failure stories. Two said that they couldn’t be fair in a trial where police would be witnesses because of their past negative interactions with the police.. The 3rd, her eyes welling with tears, said “The police killed my brother and my son after a high speed chase in Oakland”.

When the judge asked if she could be fair to both sides as a trial juror, she screamed out “The system’s not working!”

I have picked many juries prior to that and had never heard such dramatic statement’s of hostility towards the police uttered by potential jurors. We potential jurors were asked to return to the jury room. We latter learned that the case settled, probably in part at least to what the 3 potential jurors had said about the police earlier.

First warm day in an ice age, really warm. After leaving jury land, I treadmilled at Valley gym for 36 minutes. On the way home, at the Palendale and Mc Henery red light, there was a homeless man and his dog. He was flying a sign (asking for help). I gave him $5 and two bottles of sparkling water. As I waited at the light, he drank in the heat. And, as he drank, I healed.

He healed me.

It was the perfect gesture “at”.” At" the callous hardness of the jury court experience.

The homeless man , a white maybe 35 year old, was blackend from sleeping out side. It’s been a brutal cold wet stretch out there—But, today it was warm and he and his dog now had water.

Re: "the mystery’s plan", above, the Inuit Indians have a saying that there are two plans every day: your plan and the mystery’s plan.

I had been a trial lawyer for about 40 years before I was called to jury duty in April of 2023. I have been in many jury trials as a criminal defense attorney during those 40 years. Because I was a criminal defense attorney, it was not likely that the District Attorney would leave me on the criminal case in which I was potential juror.

When we are picking a jury, we ask potential jurors questions to attempt to determine if they could be fair given the facts of the trial. I think that jury selection is the hardest part of trial work. It involves a lot of mind reading and guess work.

I have passed that light at Palendale and McHenery many times on my way home from Trader Joes or the gym. The homeless man and his dog were there on a little island one lane from the curb many times. If I stopped at the light by them, I’d give the homeless man money and or water. He camped in a grassy area 1/4 mile down Mcherey near rthe road. I would see him there as I drove passed at times.

He may have moved on because I haven’t seen him there for awhile

When I did a lot of work with the homeless in 2017 and 2018, I would say to myself when I handed a bag of food to a homeless person that this gesture was “At” the harshness of society that I had experienced. In other words, instead of retaliating against people who had wronged me , I passed out a bag. I had a healing encounter with the homeless person. In accepting the bag, they healed me. So, my response to hostility, which demanded a response, was a healing gesture, passing out the bags.

Part 1/2 of my Harry's break post

This is kind of relevant to my next post so just take a read through if you want. Also this is just my opinion based on what Harry's said/what we've witnessed. Please don't get your panties in a twist. I'm just trying to make a point which will become clear in a little bit - I promise.

Also my timeline might not be exact so bear with me.

Imagine yourself in Harry's shoes:

At the age of 16, when you're still young and maturing, you audition for the X-Factor and make it through. You leave your seemingly ordinary life behind and pursue singing on the reality show. Long story short, you're thrown into a band with 4 other people and your popularity sky rockets. You never go home to your ordinary life.

From the time you're 16 until you're 21, you're on the road constantly. You record an album, go on a world tour, write and record another album while you're on tour, do promo when you get off tour, and repeat the cycle 4 or 5 more times.

You're now 22 years old and you finally got out of your contract. You immediately sign to a new record label and management with your friend, Jeff, who has been whispering in your ear for at least a couple of years now. You can finally begin your solo career.

It feels good to be on your own but you're a little more nervous than you thought you'd be. You spend a lot of time writing and re-writing music (making sure it's "perfect") and decide to take on your first acting role. It's probably a lot of stress. You sit by yourself at lunch on set. You go home and write. You're multitasking two completely different, and somewhat new, things.

Your first solo album comes out in May 2017. Your first movie comes out in July 2017. You haven't had much time to breathe between promo and planning your first solo tour but you're excited. Reception has been positive.

You open your first solo tour at age 23 in September 2017 to an audience of 3,188. Things are going well. You begin to write your second album and decide you don't want to play things as safe as the first album. You start working more with a team and building your brand. Your last concert is July 14, 2018.

Now you have a little time off but you decide to fill it up. You continue writing your second album and have plans for its release. You go to Japan for a little. You induct Stevie Nicks into the RRHOF. You host the Met. You go to the Gucci Cruise fashion show. You play dodgeball on the Late Late Show. You become the face of Gucci Memoire. Your off year really isn't an off year and before you know it, you're promoting your second album.

Fine Line is a whole other ballpark than your first album. You do way more promo, your fame and success as a solo artist rises dramatically, you're planning your second world tour, you have A LOT going on...and then Covid hits and everything halts. You don't know what to do. You huddle up at home - then with friends - for a bit and start to work on your third album because you can't sit still. You film a couple music videos. And then you decide you have time to take on 2 new acting roles.

Don't Worry Darling throws you into a circus you didn't think you were signing up for. Suddenly your face is plastered everywhere and people are more interested in your sex life (again - something you've been accustomed to since you were a teenager). You're on the verge of overexposure.

You go on to win your first Grammy and open up the show. You film My Policeman. You win a Brit award. And then FINALLY you are able to go on your much anticipated tour.

You're 27 when you finally start your second tour in the USA on September 4, 2021 to an audience of 13,413. It's just the USA for right now due to Covid's rules. You really want to tour though so you decide to go for it and you'll figure out the rest as it falls into place.

You tour Fine Line in the USA until November and then you begin promo for your third album, which comes out May 2022. It's not much of a break before the next leg of your tour which starts in June 2022.

From June 2022 - July 2023 you are touring pretty much nonstop. You also win a couple more Grammys and Brit Awards (as well as others). You're incredibly successful and busy. Your longest break is a little bit over month which is nothing compared to how long you've just been traveling. But you don't mind because you love it. You said yourself performing is your favorite thing to do.

But then it ends. Your busy streak comes to a close and your tour, perhaps one of the only places where you can just let lose and enjoy yourself completely, ends. Your last concert is when you're 29 to an audience of more than 100,000 I believe. You realize you've created a family and people really do love you.

I don't know what Harry has planned next but I think it's possible he doesn't have a concrete plan like he's had before, hence his emotional exit. Because at the end of the day, after EVERYTHING has finally come to an end, he's met with silence and it's probably 10x louder than anything he's ever felt before. It's something we can't quite comprehend.

(Not an OP fan, I’m just nitpicky) As gross as their friendship is, I think the ‘Oda is why Watsuki got back into Jump SQ’ myth is very silly. The arrest was in Nov 2017 and his return was announced in April 2018 (officially returning in July), it was pretty clear it’s because Kenshin does very well in terms of sales judging by their official statement emphasising it’s because of the fans, plus it’s considered a huge classic in the same way YYH is.

Oda’s interview with him and his exhibition took place in 2021 (would’ve been 2020 if not for COVID) where all those ‘oh Kenshin influenced me so much’ messages from other mangaka were displayed.

Kenshin as a monthly series earns even more in volume sales than the new Jojo does nowadays for example too, which is very disappointing but it does sell well. Anyway, I’m not excusing anybody who may be friends with the guy but it is a common myth I see.

oda is a huge influence in jump sq. it is stupid to assume that he didn't at least express displeasure that his friend was being suspended at all. whenever possible, he has thrown his weight behind watsuki and has made it clear at the very least that he does not think watsuki did anything wrong and that he believes watsuki deserves to be able to continue to publish in jump and make money from it. that same money was used to buy astronomical quantities of csam and it'd be stupid to assume that he won't continue doing so considering he essentially got away with it with a slap on the wrist.

you're right to say that this isn't just oda, it's an industry problem. jump itself, all the other authors who welcomed watsuki back with open arms. i'm a prison abolitionist, i don't want watsuki in prison. but at the very fucking least he should not have a fucking massive platform to sell his work on and make a shitton of money and clout off of.

i don't like oda. i do not care that that interview and exhibition happened three years after watsuki was found to have so much csam at his house they thought he was a distributor. oda knows what his friend did and he chose to promote him as a person and his work, knowing where the money would go. the creator of trigun has also celebrated watsuki's return, and for that reason i also will not read trigun. fuck these guys. fuck the industry, but oda knowingly threw his personal image and weight in behind watsuki. so fuck him in particular.

LittleMissSquiggles’ Summary of Art 2023

Honestly folks, I don't got much to say about this year. This might just be my shortest art summary to date since I don't have much to comment on this year's events.

2023 was a general mix of highs and lows but overall, not a bad year. You could say that this was the year I was more work-oriented.

I focused more on work especially during the early half of this year, between January and July and therefore didn't spend much time on personal projects; specifically 3D. That being said, I did end up getting back up to my art. Since I've been more focused on 3D for the past two years, I chose this year to get back into my 2D art doing illustrative work since I missed it.

More than that, I took this year to spend some well needed time improving my drawing skills, using tools and techniques from my 3D workflow in an attempt to improve my illustrative work and needless to say, I think it worked out great, even if the end results wasn't much.

Some squiggly good accomplishments I achieved in 2023:

Started the year employed and while I had to juggle two job opportunities which had its fair share of ups and downs in more ways than one, at least it allowed me the chance to earn the funds I needed to obtain my new workstation: a Lenovo Ideacentre 5 Gaming PC.

Learned about the almighty power of networking and remote desktops thanks to my contract job which allowed to me to transform my current setup into one that fully connects and maximizes the full use of all the devises in my arsenal. Basically I figured out how to connect my previous laptop to my new PC so now I work with a setup where my laptop acts as a third monitor for my PC while I'm able to access all my files from my laptop from my PC. Ontop of that, I also learnt how to connect my PC to my Ipad Mini, not just for transferring files for art but for also using it as a proxy computer device to remote into my main PC workstation. This may not seem like a big deal to most but for someone who didn't know a thing about most of this stuff up until this year, it makes a huge difference to this squiggle meister.

Gained a new four-legged member to the squiggle meister family household. A playfully mischievous yet adorable Husky-mix pup fittingly named Alaska or the "Wee Las" as I like to call her.

Experimented a lot with my art this year and while I may not have shared all of the fruits of my labour to social media, I have been making quite a few strides. ---- I spent the last couple of years pushing my social media presence and while I have benefitted from it from time to time, I missed out on just taking some time to myself; getting back to indulging in other activities that brought me joy; particularly the ones that involve truly honing my craft.

I hope to maintain this type of vibe moving forward towards the new year.

Even if my social media activity won't be as frequent as previous years, I do hope that those who have been following and supporting me and my work over years still continue to do so, even if it's to simply just check in from time to time.

To conclude my post, as always, I'm wishing everyone all the very, very best in their respective lives and daily endevours for the upcoming new year.

Let see what we got in store for 2024! Happy New Year folks!

hi! if i’m correctly picking up what you’re putting down, maybe this post i put together recently will help a little bit!

i think the original rep masterposts may have been deleted or at least, the account that harbored them has since deactivated.

maybe check my archived blog @kaylorwelcomecenter for some posts that i collected starting from when i first got here (early 2018). maybe there are some relics in there.

you could also check out my archives maybe for a first person account of 2018 but i was definitely not a fully formed blog from the start so im not sure how helpful my old stuff would be.

i think the reason why i’ve stayed so long is just because it’s just that compelling to me and i think it’s a phenomenon worth documenting. but if you’re an impatient person im going to be honest and tell you that kaylor might not be for you 😆 i don’t think that coming out is their top priority for the time being. but this is just me speaking for myself.

Shawn and Niall's public dating history doesn't match the themes and narratives of their songwriting

Mannn… if you actually take the time to look at Shawn’s and Niall’s dating history…. Where are these passionate songs coming from if you buy into the general public narrative 😭 Shawn’s literally supposedly dated 2 people 😭

And it didn’t start until 2017 😭 which albums are typically written A YEAR AT LEAST before they are released. Shawn Mendes Self Titled was released on May 25, 2018. Illuminate was released on April 20, 2017.

And then he’s singing about hoping someone will be by his side and being with someone “who cares if they approve”…. The media and fans were wanting him and C to get together… where are these obstacles of being together 😭

Niall’s dating history is so weird, like, don’t even get me started. It’s so full of PR and short bursts of being with someone?? Women who have even issued statements and denied when asked that they were anything romantic??? Where are all of these passionate songs coming from?? Who is he showing up at their door soaking wet? Where are these obstacles??? Wedding song???

Why is he needing to tell someone there’s “no judgement” (it’s romantic with a “mate and… you know”. No, it’s not about Harry please stop?) when they’re together??? Who is he missing so much he needs a “new angel”?? This Town: Who is he saying “if the whole world was watching I’d still dance with you” about”?? Why wouldn’t anyone he’s been with be accepted???

There’s so much that begs to be said about all of this. Shawn invalidating his whole discography (saying it’s all about Camila???) in his documentary still makes me so incredibly sad. That doesn’t make any sense. It doesn’t all line up, nor do the themes match up with his life history with her. Please 😭

Make it make sense. 🤨😭 whomever made him say that had no idea what they were doing. They expected the fans to just blindly accept what came out of his mouth.

I have talked with his fans who believe that he was writing so many songs about her… and to believe it, you have to think that he’s just sitting on the sidelines for years just pining away for her while she’s with other guys??? That doesn’t even match with his songs???

I know I’m going back and forth between the two but there’s so much of Niall’s that don’t make sense either. It starts with Barbara Palvin, who was starting out her modeling career who was connected with Niall in 2013-2014. If you don’t think he stunted, then what’s this?

Amelia Lily (yup another Amelia) 2011-2012. There’s later an article about her DENYING anything went on and that she was actually dating an electrician dude.

He was connected briefly with Ellie Goulding who would greatly benefit from the clout boost in Aug-Sept 2013. Meh. Standard music industry stuff.

Melissa Whitelaw, an Australian student, Feb-June 2015 so says a DM article. There’s papwalks complete with the weird backseat photos. Her looking out the window while Niall is awkwardly trying to cope with what he’s being subjected to, see below.

And there’s Celine Helene Vandycke, yet another student. This time she’s Belgian. They show up at events with his arm around her shoulders. They’re only together about a month or two in 2016. Again, here’s the customary car backseat photo published in DM.

And then there Hailee Steinfeld, in 2017-2018. Niall never confirms it but there’s really awkward (while walking across the street?? Like??? Wtf???) kissing pics that exist. She wears his merch. She shows up to a m&g during his tour. They “breakup” then the narrative is she released a song called “Wrong Direction” but denies it’s about him. (Great PR move, Hailee.)

Then it brings us to Amelia Woolley, pandemic lockdown lady. Met in Apr 2020, UK lockdown started in Mar. Dramatic story how they met in tabloids. Niall tore her away from her electrician boyfriend. They now do papwalks and she shows up at golf and events. Everyone forgets about her.

So….. I repeat…. where’s the kind of longterm love along the ways that’s sparked their work and matches the themes of their songs??? Please let me know if you find it???

And yes I know there’s some typos, the timeline also isn’t exact. But that’s the thing about these “relationships” that are arranged. Dates are messy because no one actually knows them. 😂
