Hi love here I come with my first spontaneous idea 🩷
Reader is the Commodore's sister but sick of the ways of society. When Jack saves Elisabeth, reader is the one who persuaded James not to kill Jack and also the one he happens to threat in order to escape. She’s somehow drawn to the Captain and later gives Will the keys to the cell to set him free. Jacks thoughts circle around her, too and they reunite when she swings last minute from the Dauntless over to the Interceptor to join the pirates making way❣️

A/N: Literally fell in love with your ask oh my god, couldn't stop thinking about it before I began writing!! Thank you so much for this request! Pairings: Jack Sparrow x F!Reader, Will Turner x F!Reader (Platonic), James Norrington x F!Reader (siblings)
"Don't slouch, stand straight," Commodore Norrington hissed at you. You glared at your brother, curving your lips downward. You hated how strict and loyal he was to the British Crown and how he enforced his rules onto you, despite being his "precious baby sister."
Your brother didn't hate you, but he sure did a good job of making you hate him. He was pacing his quarters back and forth, rehearsing what he would say to Miss Elizabeth Swann upon meeting her. You rolled your eyes at the pathetic scene, realizing that if your brother were to marry Miss Swann you were next on the list for the most eligible bachelorette in Port Royal. Your body cringed at the thought and you wriggled your back to shake off the eerie feeling crawling down your spine and focused on trying to ease your brother at the moment.
"James, there is no point in stressing over something as simple as this. Tell her you are in love with-" You began but frowned when he interjected,
"Love? Don't be ridiculous!"
"So, you're not in love with her?" You inquired, raising an eyebrow.
"No, no, I very much am in love with her. But it is not proper for a man such as myself to say trivial things to the daughter of the Governor!" Your brother reasoned and you sighed in an exasperated tone, shifting your gaze out the window.
Elizabeth had stared at you with a quizzical look on her face when your brother and you had first approached her. You both shared the same expression of disdain for the situation. It was very clear to see that she was indifferent to your brother and surely was the very last man that she had any interest for. You, on the other hand, dearly loved your brother and wanted to save him from any heartache that she would cause him. You chewed your lip nervously, watching them exchange a few words of greetings before walking away. The commodore glanced over his shoulder, mouthing a few warnings to reign your behavior in for the biggest moment of his life before stalking away.
Huffing in annoyance, you picked the ends of your dress up and marched past the Governor who was just about to start a conversation with you. He awkwardly shut his mouth and watched you walk away to stand on the other corner of the pillar where your brother and Elizabeth stood. He leaned backward to get a good look at you, sending you another glare before returning his full attention to the woman in front of him with a nervous smile. You sighed, gazing out to the sea. Your brother had taken you once beyond Port Royal when you were a little girl and he swore it was something he very much regretted; all you could ever do since then was talk about sailing the seas. You desired to travel across the world, collect artifacts, and live a free life. Your brother scoffed at your desires, stating that he would rather die than see his little sister galloping around like a pirate of all creatures.
As you gazed out into the horizons with a look of yearning, you heard the loudest splash from below. Peering over the edges of the wall, you frowned at the ripples that seemed to bloom near the rocks and you instantly pulled back from your position and walked around to notice your brother screaming Elizabeth's name.
"What did you do?" You exclaimed, resting a hand on his shoulder. He pulled away from your grasp, beginning to take his coat off but you grabbed hold of him,
"The rocks, James! She's lucky that she didn't hit them on her way down! Come, we can reach her at the docks!" You urged him, yanking his arm. He seemed instilled with distraught, at a loss for words, "She must've jumped by your mere presence!"
Your brother sent you a nasty scowl and the playful smirk on your lips faded away instantaneously. You knew this was no joking matter; the poor woman could've died on her way down and she was to be betrothed to him anyway. As your brother scampered off with the rest of the guards, you found your feet rooted to the ground as you stared up at the sky. Something was amiss. The clouds darkened and circled about gravely, and the sea no longer held its silky blue blanket to comfort you. Before you could try and comprehend what must've occurred, you felt an urgent tug around your arms and you sharply turned to find yourself facing the Governor.
"Come now, my dear, you mustn't dawdle around when my daughter's life is in danger!" He exclaimed and you frowned at his words, resisting the urge to roll your eyes at him. Even if you wanted to help Elizabeth, there was surely no way you could swim into the waters with this puffy dress around you. You followed him down to the docks, pushing past the British officers to find yourself facing Elizabeth coughing up heaps of water from her lungs and then... a pirate.
With all the rifles surrounding him, you nearly thought they were aimed at your brother who stood in the way. You could only make out half his face, oblivious to the ensuing conversation that your brother was currently engaged in. You peeked around the Commodore's shoulder, carefully eyeing the strange man in your presence when his eyes flickered over to you for a sharp second before returning to your brother. Your breath hitched at the moment, taking in his disheveled and wet appearance as your brother remained as the shield between the man and you.
"He's a pirate," Your brother growled, his jaw clenching as he barked orders for his arrest. He ignored your gaping stare as he continued, "Sparrow, I assume?"
"Jack Sparrow?" You interjected, your mouth practically on the floor as you stared at him. The corner of the pirate's lips curved into a small smirk,
"It's Captain Jack Sparrow, love," He smiled with a wink. You smiled back before your brother forcefully shoved you behind him once again. He made a mental note to have a discussion with you about your behavior as soon as you returned home. He took the pirate's belongings and derided him for his lack of proper weapons, but it bothered him so deeply that you were so enchanted by the man. It irked him to think that his sister would fall foolish to a PIRATE of all people. He forcefully grabbed onto Jack's arm and began dragging him off before you cut him off,
"James! James!" You cried out, and your brother halted in his tracks and sent you a menacing scowl.
"Not another word from you, (Y/N)." He hissed, and you scoffed before pulling your skirt up ever so slightly to march up to your brother,
"This man, pirate or not, has just saved your betrothed's life! I suggest you at least show some mercy upon him!"
"One good deed is not enough to redeem a man's life of wickedness," Your brother corrected you as Jack was being handcuffed by a Redcoat.
"Though it seems enough to condemn him," Jack added, and you offered him a sympathetic look before turning to your brother with pleading eyes.
"Brother, please. I beg of you, consider an alternative for this man." You prodded him, as your eyes fell onto Elizabeth who smiled softly at your words.
"Please do so," Jack muttered, before dragging his bound hands around your neck. You gasped in response, tugging at the chains as your brother panicked.
"No one shoots!" The Commodore bellowed, holding his hands in the air, "Let go of my sister."
"Only if you return my belongings," Jack taunted with a haughty grin. He leaned closer to lowly utter into your ears, "You must be regretting your kindness, do you not?"
"I don't, but it seems that you'll regret it," You whispered, as you watched the guards hand in his belongings in a bundle. Jack nudged your back with his knee ever so lightly to grab hold of his things and you begrudgingly did so, before sharply turning around to face him.
"Now if you'll do me the pleasure... my, I don't think I know your name..." He said with a sly smirk. You frowned at him,
"It's Miss Norrington to you," You spat, placing his hat on. As you placed his sword, belt, and other personnel around him, you could feel his intense stare burning deep into you. If it was of lust or attraction, you did not know and at the moment did not necessarily care. Your mind was fixated on other things, and your brother was seething in rage as he watched Jack give him a look regarding your body against his that made him want to hurl. To think his sister was so close to a gruesome pirate! It was preposterous!
As you tied the last remaining string of his belt around him, you looked up at him with disgust. Not only was he a pirate, but this would be the talk of the town, and your brother's and your reputation would be spoiled. Your brother could easily regain his good fortune, but you were never as lucky. You hated the way the women would gossip and to think it was all spoiled over one man you decided to be too merciful with because your curiosity could not be controlled made you ready to commit arson.
"Is this how you repay me?" You hissed and the pirate smirked at your words,
"I saved your friend's life, and now you save me. Besides, you did after all wish for me to live. Now, suffer those consequences. When shall a beautiful lady such as yourself realize to never mess with a pirate?" He chuckled, before harshly turning you around with his gun aimed at your head. Your brother flinched at the sudden movement, making sure you were alright.
"Ladies and gentlemen, you will always remember this as the day you almost caught Jack Sparrow," The pirate's voice boomed from behind you and the very next second you found yourself thrust upon your brother and Elizabeth. As Jack Sparrow hurriedly began his escape, he did not fail to include a personal message from his heart, "Thank you very much, Miss Norrington. I shall not ever forget such kindness!"
And you weren't ready to forget him, either. It would be for another reason. As the night raged on with a surge of pirates infiltrating Port Royal, you felt a growing desire to do something about it. Your brother had joined the Governor for his safety and left you at home to be tended to by the maids. Upon realizing that the front door would burst open regardless of the circumstances, you quietly slipped out the window in your nightly attire and made your way to the blacksmith's quarters where you knew for a fact that your good friend Will Smith would be. Will and you had grown as siblings; he was there for you more than your brother had been. He had anticipated your arrival anyway but found himself in jeopardy when his ears gathered the news that Elizabeth Swann had been abducted by the pirates. He was pacing around when you arrived and he quickly latched onto your shoulders,
"They've taken Elizabeth! I tried my best but-" Will began but you silenced him, bringing a hand to his mouth.
"I know what you must be going through. But there is not enough time. I heard you helped imprison Jack Sparrow." You whispered and he nodded his head, eyes wide as he tried to make the best of the situation, "Come, I have the key with me, we can both interrogate him and seek his help." Your hand fell to his own and led him towards the streets.
"Wait a minute," Will stopped you, and with a glance over your shoulder you already knew what he was about to say. He was going to prevent you from going. "(Y/N), I know you've always wished to escape Port Royal, but I cannot bring harm to you once you step foot onto the waters."
"Will," You chastised him, "I am no longer a little girl. I am very capable of handling my own matters."
"You are inexperienced, that's all I can say." Will rebuked your claim and you gasped at his words, before furrowing your brows,
"So are you!"
"Ah, but I shall be bringing Sparrow with me to help find Elizabeth."
"Oh, don't be so dull! I can help Sparrow and you as well. Do not prevent me from doing so! If it is out of fear that a pirate may do something towards a woman of my status, I assure you that no such thing will occur! If he dares to even look at me, I shall see to it that his eyes are gouged out by his blade!" You reasoned and Will took a step backwards, his lips parting in shock at your words. You had the spirit of a pirate in you that was for sure, and that was exactly what he feared.
"I cannot let you join. Your brother is... already facing loss," He replied in an awkward tone, considering how much he cared about Elizabeth, "He would be devasted to find you gone as well. Just stay put for now. I'm sure there shall be something more exciting for you in Port Royal."
You muttered a few unladylike curses under your breath and reluctantly offered him the key to the jail cell, "At least tell Sparrow that I was... delighted by his presence."
Will raised a suspicious eyebrow at your remark, unsure of how to respond. He nodded his head and then left you alone, as you brought your hands over your arms as your mind wandered towards the sea once again.
To say that Jack Sparrow was surprised by Will's statement regarding you would be an understatement. He couldn't wrap his head around the fact that you so willingly offered him the key to his escape, considering how he had humiliated your brother and especially you in front of everyone at the docks earlier in the day. He chewed his lip, his eyes dilating at the thought of you. The way you stared at him in defiance, your temples rising and falling with the way you clenched your jaw. Of course, who could forget the sensation of your fingers pressed up against him as you fastened his belt? As much of the ladies' man that Jack was, there was something different about you. You weren't like Giselle or Scarlet, complaining about superficial things or just merely trying to get into his pants. He could tell there was this curious spirit fighting to break free when he first laid eyes on you. The way you cautiously peered over your brother's shoulder had made him... well, he certainly wouldn't say his heart skipped a beat. He wasn't a silly little boy. He was a man! A grown man, a pirate! CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow, mind you. And yet here he was, trying to justify to himself that what he felt for you was nothing more than just infatuation that would surely pass on.
But it didn't. It never did. While of course, his thoughts about stealing The Interceptor were his priority, he just couldn't stand still without his mind fleeting over to the very image of you, dressed in that regal bright blue gown and your hair all curled and pinned to form the most exquisite portrait of a woman he'd ever seen in his life. He smirked to himself at the thought of you, wondering what you must be doing at Port Royal at the moment. What if your brother had you married off to someone else? What if you were to live the rest of your life as a boring wife to an equally boring officer? He shook his head, wriggling himself free from those imaginative concoctions. He was a pirate, damn it. He had better things to think about than just a woman he had seen days ago.
"You've got to be kidding me," Your brother grumbled as he pushed past you. You had boarded The Interceptor with him, not because you had wanted to - even though you took every chance out on the sea with gratefulness - but because your brother was so worried about the possibility of your abduction that he wished you were beside him at all times. Including those incredibly still moments of him gazing out into the sea. To him, he seemed to have an air of control, all the world's burdens upon his shoulder. This was his duty. When you gazed out into the sea, however, it was a plethora of possibilities. The unmarked territories you could claim, the desire for you to seek out treasure from all corners. You could be free. And no one would stop you. Save your brother, but that was something he'd always do anyway. Your attention focused on The Dauntless a couple hundred meters away as you noticed flocks of the British crew on small boats were paddling towards the ship you were in. Your brother gazed through his telescope and snarled at the sight, hesitantly passing the device for you to see as well. From afar, you saw Will Turner and... Jack Sparrow? The pirate? Both of them were flapping their arms around trying to make use of the mast. You guffawed at the sight, laughing at them. You turned to face your brother who quickly reminded you with his gaze about your behavior and you swallowed the amusement away as fast as you could.
The two ships - The Dauntless and The Interceptor - were locked horns now and your brother ordered you to come with him to board The Dauntless and put an end to Sparrow's madness. You reluctantly agreed, your eyes scanning around to see any sight of the familiar pirate you had so longed to see.
"Search every cabin, every hull," Your brother barked, before turning back to you, "And you stay close to me. Do not go wandering about like a fool like you always do."
You glowered at him, electing not to anger him any further as you stood on the deck. You watched him disappear among the surge of officers onto The Dauntless. You sighed, pacing back and forth when you noticed two men swing over to The Interceptor. It was Will and Jack.
Eyes widening in surprise, you tried to call attention to the situation but your cries fell on deaf ears. You stomped your foot and watched Jack cut off the rope ties, one by one. His gaze was fixed downwards until he looked up momentarily, and there you stood. He stood there for a few more seconds, completely surprised by your presence. Deep down, as much as he hated to admit it, he feared that he would never see you again.
"What are you doing? Cut the rope!" Will cried out in confusion before he followed Jack's eyes to you. Jack looked upwards at the rope still connecting the two boats before turning back to you,
"Jump, Miss Norrington!" He instructed, and you stepped forward, holding onto a long piece of rope. Upon hearing your name, your brother rushed out of the Captain's Quarters, pushing past his men.
"(Y/N)!" He yelled, his eyes daring you to make another move. Realizing that this was the only opportunity to acquire what you had spent so long yearning for; the deep blue seas, the adventure, and the whimsical treasures, you sent him one final glance before running off the deck of The Dauntless and swinging onto The Interceptor. With the final rope now gone, and the ship sailing forward at full speed your brother looked at you as if you were dead to him.
When The Dauntless was far behind and there seemed to be no danger at the present moment, you walked towards your friend Will and the pirate beside him. Will seemed elated that you were there, and he hugged you so warmly that you nearly forgot that he was not related to you by blood. Releasing you from his arms, he sheepishly stepped aside as Jack Sparrow stepped forward.
"Miss Norrington, it is a pleasure to have you on board with us. I almost feared you might not have the guts to swing over," He teased, his hand graciously wrapping around your own as he kissed your fingers with such gentleness that it surprised you. You cracked half a smile at him, narrowing your eyes, before responding,
"You may call me (Y/N), and please, I never turn down an opportunity for adventure."

"Ok, I need your opinion", Jack held up two sweaters from their hangers, "gray or green?" You bit your bottom lip, contemplating the choices for a second. "Green. My mom's favorite color is green, she'll appreciate the gesture." Jack chuckled to himself before disappearing back into the closet. "Green it is."
You and Jack were headed to your family's house for Thanksgiving, and while he was excited to meet the people who brought the love of his life into the world, you were a nervous wreck. Your relationship with your family was complicated to say the least. You were already dressed and ready to go, had been for the last two hours from nerves, just waiting at Jack's apartment for him to get back from the studio.
Jack emerged from his closet, dressed in the green cashmere sweater you had chosen for him with a pair of jeans and matching New Balance sneakers. "Does this look alright?", he pulled at his sweater nervously. You stood, holding his hands in yours, interlacing your fingers together. "You look really good, babe." You leaned in to give him a quick peck, and when you tried to pull away, Jack pulled you tightly into his arms.
"How are you doing? We don't have to go if you don't want to. We can order some food, watch a movie, do other things", his voice trailed off suggestively. You felt your stomach flip. You loved your family more than anything, but you knew this night could go sideways, and his offer sounded very tempting. His gaze tracked your face as you avoided eye contact with him. "I'm fine, Jack. Really. Its my family. If anything you should be worried." You booped his nose with your finger, trying to deflect. "I'm serious babe, I know being with your family isn't easy."
In the very little that you had told Jack about your family, he knew that you had a difficult relationship with your parents and sister. You were the oldest, seven years older than your little sister, and it felt like you got the short end of the stick growing up. You were the child your parents learned to be a parent with, the trial and error kid, and a lot of their mistakes left you with irreparable trauma. Nothing you did was ever good enough, and your mistakes were magnified to the point where you felt like you couldn't do anything right.
You could almost forgive them for their faults, but seeing your sister get to live the life you begged for growing up, hurt more than anything. It was as if they saved all of their love and compassion for her, all of her faults were easily forgivable, her successes given the attention yours never got. They coddled her, and for better or worse, her life was proof that they could have done better, they just didn't think you were worth the effort.
Still, they were your family, the only people you had to lean on, and you weren't going to turn your back on them. The little girl in you would always need their validation and love.
"They're just hard on me because they want want the best for me. They push me because they care, Jack. I wouldn't be where I am without them." You swallowed, giving Jack a weak smile. You weren't sure if you believed your own words. It was hard to believe that the people you loved so much would say things to hurt you, but your tears night after night suggested otherwise.
"But if you wanna go, we leave immediately, okay?" You nodded, Jack pressing a kiss onto your temple.
****
"Give me the rundown again." Jack looked over at you from the driver's seat, one hand on the wheel, the other rested on your leg. You were nervously peeling at your nails, trying to take deep breaths. The closer you got your childhood home, the more anxious you felt, like your throat was closing. Jack noticed immediately, giving your thigh a couple loving squeezes to bring you back to reality. The look you gave him, tears brimming in your eyes, gave him pause.
"We're turning around." Jack mumbled out while he looked around to find a place to make a u-turn. "Jack, no, please. My parents are expecting us. Its just been a while since I've seen them, and its the first time they're meeting you, I'm just nervous." You quickly dabbed under your eyes to collect any tears. You hadn't purposely distanced yourself from your family, but lately you felt like a fantom weight was lifted off of you when you had your space.
"Baby..." Jack's words trailed off as he looked at you, his face riddled with worry, his hand cradling the back of your head. "The rundown." You picked up where he left off, smiling at him, feeling your eyes start to burn as tears threatened to fall again. You took in a shaky breath.
"You already know my parents name, David and Maria. They had their own business when I was growing up, a shipping company here in Louisville. I spent a lot of afternoons after school helping them out. Now my dad is retired and my mom works as an accountant. My sister's name is Teresa, she's a senior in high school, about to go to college at Kentucky." Jack groaned at that last sentence.
"Ugh, I don't like her already." He said in jest, referring to his loyalty to Louisville, making you chuckle. "Keep going." He rubbed your forearm affectionately, his eyes focused on the road.
"My dad is a die hard Saints fan, which I know you'll appreciate. Something that you guys can talk about." Jack nodded, taking everything in. "My mom loves old movies. She'll talk your ear off about them. My little sister is an incredibly talented singer. The voice of an angel."
Jack couldn't help but smile as he listened to you talk. Even after everything you'd been through, you had nothing but good things to say about your family. You made a conscious choice to focus on the positive, and he had no doubt you were stronger than you knew. You gave him a few more topics to have in his back pocket during dinner as you continued the drive.
****
"Welcome." Your mother greeted you at the door, her lack of enthusiasm palpable. She ignored you completely to give her attention to Jack. "Jack, welcome to our home. We're very happy to have you here. Y/N has told us almost nothing about you", she let out a humorless breath as she glanced at you, "but I'm sure we'll get acquainted during dinner." You felt a sharp pain in your side as if her dig at you had been a physical attack.
As you shed your jacket her eyes ran up and down your outfit. "Y/N, is that the best thing you could find to wear to dinner? You should see your sister's dress. We went out and picked it up last week. So cute." Jack noticed you physically shrink at her comment. "Its amazing how beautiful she can look in anything." Jack smiled at you, making you blush. He placed his hand on your lower back, drawing comforting circles with his fingers. You could see your mom's attitude shift negatively. "Where is Teresa?" You were quick to change the conversation, determined to have a good night. "She's in the dining room with your father. Dinner is almost ready."
Your mom led the two of you to the the dining room, where your dad and Teresa were placing the last dishes on the table. "Y/N!" Your little sister ran over to you, enveloping you in a big hug. "I've missed you." You mumbled in her hair, holding her tightly. "Daddy, Teresa, this is Jack." You turned to your boyfriend to introduce him to the other members of your family. "Jack, nice to meet you." Teresa quickly shook hands with him before Jack took your father's grip. "Sir."
"Lets eat. I'm sure Jack is hungry." Your mom encouraged everyone to sit down. Jack pulled your chair out for you, helping you to get settled before he took his own seat.
Everyone was quiet as they began to plate their food and eat. You caught Jack looking at you in the corner of your eye. His leg was jiggling up and down, something he did subconsciously when he was nervous. You were sure it was because he was meeting your parents for the first time, but truthfully Jack was nervous for you and how the night was going to unfold.
"So Jack, Y/N says you're in the music industry. What do you do?" Your father asked. Jack cleared his throat as he was passed a bowl of mashed potatoes. "I'm a rapper. I make rap music." He glanced at you with wide eyes, not sure what you had told them about him. "Oh, Teresa has such a wonderful voice. I always thought she should be a singer. Maybe you can give her a couple of pointers about the industry." Your mom edged Jack on, as if she was your sister's manager. "Mom. I'm sure Jack doesn't want to talk about work right now", Teresa cut in," Anyway, I'm more of a sing in the church choir kind of voice." You smiled at her, thankful for trying to turn the conversation back to you for a moment.
"Don't sell yourself so short Teresa. How did you meet Y/N, Jack? I don't know how you meet many celebrities working a dead-end office job." Your mom looked to Jack as if she had asked him the time, not insulted his girlfriend to his face. Jack's jaw flexed, and you could see the vein in his neck start to bulge. "A mutual friend, actually. One that works that same dead end job." You snapped your head toward him, pleading with your eyes for him to behave. He knew he probably wasn't going to get many opportunities to get a few jabs in before you stopped him, but it was dangling right in front of him.
"Its just a temp job anyway. I'm working to try to get back to school. Jack's actually been helping me with my applications." The spoon of stuffing hit your plate harder than you intended, making everyone jump.
The room was quiet for a minute, and you thought you were past that awkward conversation. "If you would have stayed in school a couple of years ago, you probably could have been in a much better position by now." Your dad stabbed his fork in the air, his face in a scowl. "All that money down the drain." He gritted out between clenched teeth.
You felt the lump build in your throat. You had left college a couple of years ago when you were on the verge of a mental breakdown and your grades were suffering severely. Jack knew all about your struggles, it was actually one of the things you had bonded over when you had started dating. College was never in the cards for him either, and he knew all about the pressures to succeed. He was on your side, and when you told him you wanted to go back to school, he promised to help you however he could, even offering to pay for tuition.
"Y/N tells me you're thinking about going to Kentucky, Teresa?" Jack quickly pivoted the attention away from you so you could breathe. "Yeah, I want to major in Biology. Not sure if I want to after that, but I've always loved science."
"I'm a Louisville fan, and I think I finally converted Y/N over to the Cardinals. If you give me 20 minutes, I think I could get you to switch schools." Jack and Teresa chuckled. "Y/N liking football, how did you manage to do that?", your sister asked. "Well, he had to take me to quite a few games before I was-"
"We're just so proud of Teresa and all that she's accomplished so far." Your mom cut you off mid sentence, avoiding eye contact with you. "Kentucky is such a great school."
Jack balled his fist up under the table. The way your parents treated you was so much worse than he could have imagined. He had problems with his own family, he didn't know a person who didn't, but the way they deliberately disrespected you made his skin crawl. You could feel the anger radiating off of Jack's body. It wasn't easy for him to conceal his emotions, especially rage. You grabbed his hand and gently helped him unclench his fingers.
The rest of the dinner was eerily quiet, the only sound the clink of silverware against plates. You finished your courses, opting to skip dessert, your excuse the traffic you would have to hit if you didn't leave before rush hour.
Jack helped you slip your jacket over your shoulders as the two of you got read to leave. "It was very nice to meet you, Jack." Teresa gave the two of you a hug before stepping back, clinging onto your arm. "Nice to meet you too. Don't forget, Louisville is still an option." Teresa gave him a huge grin, promising to get his contact information from you if she ever changed her mind.
"Sir, Mrs. Y/L/N. Thank you very much for dinner." Jack shook hands with your father once more. "Thank you Jack. We'd say you're welcome to come back next year, but none of Y/N's boyfriends have made it that long." You almost bowed over as you felt that stab in your stomach again. Jack could feel the heat creeping up his neck, his back tensing up.
"Its not for the reason you think." The words spilled out of Jack's mouth before he could stop them.
"I'm sorry? What do you mean?" Your mom's face contorted at Jack's words. He took a deep breath, knowing there was no going back now. You would probably hate him for it, but he couldn't stand to hear you get torn down like this.
"From the moment we've walked in the door, I haven't heard you say one nice thing about Y/N." You pulled at Jack's arm. "Jack, please, stop."
"And she is the nicest person. Incredibly kind and loving, and I always thought, man she must have the most amazing parents to have raised a daughter like her. Now I know, she's that way in spite of you." You couldn't stand to hear another word. You walked out the door, leaving Jack in the entryway. Your chest was burning with anger as you leaned against the car door.
"It was never my intention to insult you, but damn, she deserves so much better than this." Jack left the door open as he hurried after you.
"Jack!", he stopped in his tracks when Teresa called after him, turning on his heels to face her. "You're right. My sister is an amazing person. I'm sorry that you had to see that tonight. My parents- they", she stumbled over her words, "when they look at Y/N, they're reminded of all the ways they failed her, things that are too far gone now to change. Thank you for seeing her for the beautiful person that she is." She gave Jack a small hug before running back inside.

The car ride back to Jack's place was silent, the air stifling. Jack didn't want to be the first one to speak, afraid you would blow up at him, and he rightfully deserved it. He white knuckled the steering wheel, his looks split between the road and you, to gauge how upset you were. You were tightlipped, your gaze focused on the horizon, your grip on your seatbelt cutting into your skin.
Jack trailed behind you back into his apartment. You dropped your coat and took off your shoes at the door, heading directly to his bedroom. "Baby, let's talk. I'm sorry, I never should have said those things to your parents." You didn't answer him, instead laying on the bed, your back turned to him. You felt his weight dip into the mattress as he sat next to you, his hand resting on your hip. "I understand why you're mad at me. I just couldn't stand to hear them talk about you like that anymore." He held his breath waiting for his response.
The sob you let out startled him. "What did I do wrong?" You choked back tears, frantically trying to wipe your face to no avail. "Why do they hate me so much?" You couldn't stop crying out, tightening your hold on the pillow against your chest. Jack gently laid next to you, pulling the pillow out of your arms so he could pull you close to his chest.
You cried harder as he held you, an overflow of the frustration and sadness you'd been feeling in anticipation of the night, something you could no longer hold back. His shirt was soaked, but he didn't care. His only thought was being here for you right now. He waited until he thought you were done crying to speak again. "Talk to me baby", he nestled his nose in your hair.
"I just wish that they were proud of me. That something I did mattered to them as much as it does when my sister does it. Why don't they ever choose me? I feel like no one is ever on my side." Jack's heart broke as he listened to you. "I feel like nothing I ever do will be good enough to earn their love." Tears were starting to fall all over again.
"I know I'm not your parents, but its their loss. If they can't see how amazing you are, that's their fault, not yours. One day, they're gonna wish they had cherished you while you were around." Jack could feel your chest rise and fall against his body. "I love you. I choose you, every time. You matter to me more than anything else in the world."
You knew he was right, but your heart still felt broken beyond repair. There were just some things that only time could fix. Jack pulled you closer, your weight laying on top of him, his hand rubbing up and down your back. Your eyelids felt heavy as you listened to his heartbeat against your cheek as your head rested on your chest. You didn't even realize you had fallen asleep until Jack was trying to wake you up.
****
His hand was cold against your cheek as your eyes slowly fluttered open. "Are you up for a surprise?" He whispered as you started to become fully awake. He gave you a moment before grabbing your hand and walking you to the living room.
"Happy Thanksgiving!" You were startled by the cheers of people in the room, noticing that Urban, Clay and a bunch of your mutual friends were standing in the living room, yelling and clapping. You also noticed the impressive spread of KFC buckets on the coffee table. "You deserve a do-over Thanksgiving with your chosen family and a Kentucky delicacy." You chuckled as Jack pulled you in for a kiss, earning boos from the room. "Gross!", Urban yelled out. "Stop kissing, I need to eat!" Clay joined in, earning a hard slap on the arm from Jack. You giggled, hiding your face in embarrassment as you greeted your friends, overwhelmed by how quickly Jack was able to put this together.
Once everyone had their share of the food, Jack stood, clapping his hands together to get everyone's attention.
"Alright, I just want to say, thank you to everyone in this room. I learned something tonight. You can't choose your family, but you can choose who you love and who you allow to love you back. To my beautiful girlfriend, thank you for choosing me to love you. It has been the greatest honor of my life." You blew him a kiss, a smile creeping on your face.
"Thank you to everyone who helped me put this Friendsgiving together very fast. Even though the banner could use some work." Everyone's eyes moved to the makeshift white printer paper banner taped to the wall that read "Happy Thanksgiving."
"Hey! I was working with limited materials, and as I reminded you today, I am a photographer, not an artist." Urban was quick to defend himself to laughter in the room. "It's perfect, Urban." You chimed in, winking at him.
"Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Never forget how loved and cherished you are." Jack rose his glass of water, everyone following suit. "Cheers."

Hi,
Do you take requests? Ifnot, sorry to bother you.
But if you do, would you mind writing Yandere Hannibal with Will‘s sister. Will is overly protective of her, but can‘t ‚save‘ her from Hannibal
A/n I really really love this idea, thanks for the request!!
pairing; Yandere!Will Graham× sister!readerxYandere!Hannibal Lecter x reader (romantically)
Life had been particularly harsh with Will. Any little thing that could potentially bring him some sort of happiness was forcefully taken from him in some way or other. He was a grown man deprived from any type of pleasure, happiness, comfort or love.
So when it came to you, you were the beam of sunlight in the stormy mess it was his life. The only good thing about his childhood he wanted to keep, he held you close and tightly to his heart so that nothing and no one could take ever you away from him.
He had always been overprotective whether you were older or younger than him it didn't matter. He took with pride the role of your protector and carried it out with all the necessary actions (to the point of sometimes crossing boundaries). He had been through a lot and he promised to himself he would never let you go through that.
So when it came to his current life he didn't want you to be involved. He talked to you frequently on the phone, putting on a happy voice, trying to hide his exhaustion or the gore details of his job, the nightmares, the hellutinations. He had painted you a very vague picture of his life giving you however the impression your brother was finally happy.
He didn't want you to worry or be in danger. Imagine your surprise when Jack called you as a last resort informing you about your brothers latest mental breakdown
When you visited him not believing your brother could lie to you found out that not only he had started being active in the FBI, but he was living alone in the middle of nowhere with an actual pack of stray dogs and no friend let alone girlfriend in sight.
It wasn't worrying, it was disturbing.
He was isolated, in an emotionally traumatic job, on the verge of insanity rejecting any kind of help.
And then he came into the picture.
You met Dr Lecter when he came by one morning to visit your brother. Both completely unaware of each other's existence he couldn't help but fixate on you.
He studied the way you behaved with your brother, how sweet and willing you were to soak all of his pain and make it yours. You looked like a deer caught in the headlights. Your pretty face, full of panic and worry about your brother's situation. He found it adorable.
Perhaps it was the secrecy of how Will tried to hide you from him, the sweetness of a forbidden fruit or Probably it was his sick and twisted mind making some relation between you and Mischa but he found you fascinating.
He found you witty and kind, sharing your brother's sarcasm, so different from Will but still having that sense of familiarity.
Of course you were so uninterested in anything but Will, so it was obviously this would be an obstacle. But he knew your weak spot and he never was too shy to rub some salt in one's open wound if it meant he would get his way.
In every session with Will he asked questions related to you, about your bond, your childhood and with a bit of research of his own aka stalking he knew everything about you.
So when the kind, helpful, charming doctor wanted to help you with your family problems how could you say no?
Will's world shattered when he saw how slowly Hannibal started becoming part of your daily life, how he turned you away from him and into his arms. He caught you texting all the time, leaving at random times going out for a walk, coffee or any other stupid excuse you could think of.
Did you really think he was that stupid?
Having been used to your brother's very open control of your life, with his rules and overprotectiveness Hannibal subtle manipulation was a breath of fresh air. Unable to detect anything he felt to you safe and familiar and the way he got out of his way to help you and your family made it hard not to fall in love with him.
He showed you what Will had always been afraid for you to see, your brother is a crazy, mentally unstable and potentially dangerous person who could ever hurt you. But Hannibal, he could help- no he promised you he would.
He hates it however when your time spent together was interrupted with something Will related. He hated the energy, time and emotions you gave away to Will. Your affections, your time and love, it should all be his. He hadn’t shared a thing in his life and he would never share you not even with your own brother.
It wasn't long till he managed to turn you against your own brother. It wasn't hard given how he had been lying to you for the past months about his life, or how exhausting he made it for you. It was an emotionally draining situation, he knew was holding back your relationship so he had to put an end to it. He also couldn't stand the codependent relationship between you and your brother; there couldn't be anyone else in your life to trust and adore more than him.
After that there was a pull and push dynamic with both your brother and boyfriend trying to control you in their own way. Will of course unable to do anything he cooperated afraid he would lose you and all the control Will used to have over you had now Hannibal.
But it was for the best, don't worry. He knows you're a beautiful thjng ready to flourish under his care and protection so don’t be surprised if sometime Will crosses him and Hannibal suggests a mental hospital for him, that’s for your best interest too!

Rise of the Guardians/The Guardians of Childhood is low-key my Roman Empire.
Like, specifically in the movie verse, there's just... so much that was never elaborated on. It's one of the unfortunate side effects of being kid's media, things get dumbed down for no reason.
Like, Jack Frost in general as a character. He died. DIED. He DROWNED in a pond saving his sister and??? Nothing. The entire moment when he remembered became "Oh I'm the fun guy that had a family and saved my sister!" AND DIED. Very important part that is completely glossed over other than the idea of sacrifice. Like, the other guardians were "chosen," did they not die too? Did Jack lose his memories because he died, but the others were chosen while alive, chose to leave their lives and remembered?
And just, what were his early years? For a very long time, at least a decade, he probably thought he was totally invisible, that he could never have a true conversation with another person, because I doubt that he stumbled upon another spirit/legend for a while.
Like, that would have driven him INSANE. There's no way he wouldn't be super socially awkward from the isolation, much less just totally mentally well. Are spirit's brains built different? They'd have to be, but I don't think they should be able to withstand that level. Like what was the mim thinking??? Seriously just abandoned a TEENAGER he resurrected with no memory or possibility of support, that's wrong.
And on that note, let me reiterate that Jack died. In front of his little sister. Who had to go back home and tell her family what happened. Did he have a father too? More siblings? Friends and family? They had a funeral no doubt, mourned him. Because he died.
The worst part? He was right there. The whole time. Jack came back to that pond and settlement for hundreds of years, even when it became Burgress. He probably watched his funeral not knowing what was going on, saw his family mourn him without knowing it was for him. He was there when they died, not knowing who they were to him. Did he realize later on? I can only imagine the devastation.
The worst part is Manny probably had to take his memories, because Jack would have been DEPRESSED. He would've tried everything to make them believe, and they probably never would. His parents would probably never see him again, they were adults. His sister was plausible, but she's still mortal. She would have died, Jack would have seen his little sister grow old and die while he stayed eternally young. He might've not ever recovered from that, mim taking his memories distanced him from the pain for when he remembered 300 years later.
But he also could have moved on, grown and loved her descendants and honored her. The mim took that choice away, and that's pretty fucked up.
Then yeah, 300 years of pretty much no acknowledgement. Going into live blind with no guidance or memories, trying to figure yourself out but being ignored by the once who brought you here. Jack would realistically be a little nutty, because wow. It's shown the even other spirits didn't really talk to him, he made them acknowledge him by playing pranks and pissing them off till they confronted him. Maybe it's in spirit's nature to be recluses, but it's not in Jack's. He wanted attention and to be seen, but no one wanted to or could give it to him.
That's why Jamie seeing him for the first time always makes me tear up. This is the first time for HUNDREDS of years that a human has acknowledged him, not an out of touch spirit, but a regular person Jack can connect with, that chose to see him, to believe. That's beautiful, and special.
There's just so many layers to this story that we never got to see, and I'm forever sad DreamWorks abandoned the franchise.
(If anyone has any good fics that explore topics like this, especially Jack's family, please share)

Yes! I need the Hughes!sister and Nico au!!!
Like when or how did they realize they had feelings for each other?
🫶🫶🫶
so nico and blake had met before obviously, but they never really hung out because they were both super busy with their own sports. but with blake injuries, jack and nico go over to her apartment a lot to check up on her and thats where they get super close
SO! here are some things that made them realize they liked the other person:
blake:
whenever her phone rang or buzzed, her first thought always went to nico and hoping that he was the reason behind her notifs
when jack would come over to her apartment and she'd catch herself being disappointed when nico didn't come with him
nicos brown puppy dog eyes. once hes talking to her, literally sitting like a foot or two away from her, and shes just completely mesmerized. she doesn't realize he stopped talking and once she catches on shes like "did i really just sit here with my cheek resting on my palm mesmerized by this man..."
when she was scrolling through the njd merch website to buy something to wear to one of jacks upcoming games and she decides to impulsively buy nicos jersey (she doesn't admit that she's bought it tho she keeps it in her closet and periodically pulls it out to stare at)
she starts giggling and blushing whenever hes talking to her even if what he said isn't funny
when she downloads duolingo to try and learn some swiss german after one too many glasses of wine tho is when she realizes she truly has a problem and that she fr likes him
nico:
when hes cooking himself dinner at night and he immediately thinks of making enough for blake and bringing it over to her apartment. hes like "well... i know shes upset right now so..." and so he doubles whatever recipe hes making
when jack tells him that blakes starting to feel better and that nico doesnt have to come with him to her apartment anymore and nicos first thought is ... "but i want to see blake"
when theyre out one night with the rest of the team and the boys keep urging him to go talk to this girl who's staring at him but he refuses because "why would i leave blake to talk to these idiots without me"
when hes hanging out with friends and blake calls and so he's immediately excusing himself from the room so he can hear her properly
he remembers all the little things like her coffee orders, favourite songs, snacks, etc... all saved into his notes app "just in case she needs something"
when jack comes over to nicos apartment to hang out and nico distractedly asked where blake was... (gagged jack bad)
nico watching a whole season of a tv show on a plane ride just because blake mentioned that she liked it
overhearing jack asking blake when she was gonna get a bf... his heart started beating fr hoping that she had no prospects (aside from him ofc) when this happens he reevaluates and is like... "okay maybe i'm not doing all of this because i think of her as just a friend.." and then he goes down that spiral of "if its morally wrong to date my teammate / bromance twins sister"

i can co-exist with davesport but it just makes me sad bc imagine how Dee would've felt if she saw it (pre-dsaf 3),
like ur brother is kissing ur murderer and shit
BUT you dont have a say in it or any right to even speak up about it in the first place
imagine how betrayed she must've felt
- dee's scarf
Y'see, that's a really good observation there, Dee's Scarf! Actually, it's one of the reasons I enjoy davesport. I'm not crazy about it in the mushy-gushy lovey aspect, but rather in the tragedy. Of the betrayal and dissapointment you must feel in yourself knowing that you're in love with the same person who ruined your life and denied your sister one entirely.
Dee's reaction, if they ever started dating, would definitely be a negative one. she seems to have a relatively playful relationship with Dave in the flipside, but I doubt that she wouldn't at least be a little hurt. A lot hurt, probably. I mean, she saw that Dave wanted to be a good person.. at least, now he does.
But you can't really let go of a grudge against your murderer, can you. especially since Dee is shown to be an avid grudge holder.
Jack would never, ever want to hurt dee. Even the most vile, wreched, selfish Jack Kennedy is still plagued with nightmares of the time he could not save her. He tries so hard during their fight to prevent her from getting hurt. He persisted after death as Blackjack just to avenge what was taken from him. Who he could not see again.
Point is, Jack wouldn't want to outright get together with Dave, because that would hurt Dee. Even if she didn't care, the preconceived notion that she WOULD care might drive Jack away from ever confessing or trying to advance his relationship with Dave.
This is also in part to why I think Dave and Jack have such an ambiguous relationship in the series.
They constantly flirt, were implied to canonically slept in the same bed together in vegas (despite the text ALSO implying they had at least two beds), but still never say anything about it.
I feel like, even though their relationship is definitely more than just regular ol' pals, Jack would be hesitant to make it official because of the fact that he knows Dave killed Dee.

Frills and Thrills
Summary: A typical night becomes anything but typical.
Words: 1,398
Warnings: Swearing
A/N: This piece was inspired by the below behind-the-scenes photo; the cinematography of One From the Heart (thanks, Lawrence Sher!); and this very 80s song. No, I am still not looking forward to the sequel - but I will take a hot Arthur Fleck anytime. 😎 Please enjoy! Special thanks to @sweet-nothings04 for her help and support! A very tardy Christmas piece is on the way!
If you have any thoughts or questions, please comment, feel free to message me, or send me an ask. Requests for Arthur and WWH are open!
Tumblr media
"That'll be $43.67."
Arthur counted out the bills in his wallet. Before transferring his three prescriptions to Groves Pharmacy - a brisk nine-minute walk from his Burnley address - he'd called for the beige and blue tablets' prices. With his lack of Gothamcare, he'd hoped they'd be cheaper than at Helms. "Disappointed but not surprised" was that night's journal entry.
He'd try the new insomnia pills first, get a fourteen-day supply of the other two whenever he could. See if a good night's sleep in the bed he was almost used to would encourage positive thoughts, lighten black moods to grey. After all, they'd improved since Y/N. Still there, still a teeter on the edge of an abyss. But with a guide rope in the shape of a woman's hand.
Leaving $2.41 in his pocket, he surrendered exact change. Took the white paper bag with blue lettering. Offered a quiet thanks and sidestepped from the pharmacist's counter.
Y/N waited in the cosmetics section, purse on her shoulder, a passive expression on her face. He recognized the creams on the top shelf, a flicker from when he'd shopped for Penny. The silhouette logo, the black label, the rounded corners of the jar. Anti-wrinkle Oil of Olay, then, when money was too tight, the knock-off poured into her Oil of Olay jar. His subtle subterfuge had gone undetected. Wrinkles continued to form in the usual fashion. He'd continued to save a quarter and make the swap.
As Y/N picked up a pink compact, Arthur slinked behind her to speak in her ear. "You're already pretty."
Giggling, she hung the rouge in its spot between concealer and cream foundation. "You make me blush enough already. Did you get what you needed?"
A crooked half-smile. "I think so." He entwined their fingers and started towards the exit, an attempt to halt any further questions that might lead to med and money talk.
Aisle three's endcap had an Easter display, a thousand plastic wrappers crying out for attention. Jolly Jack chocolate bunnies and Cadbury mini-eggs, pastel baskets and cellophane grass. The plush baby chicks were awfully cute, perfect the kids at the children's clinic. He'd jot a reminder to come back after the holiday, grab some plastic eggs and props at half price.
"My parents used to dress us up and take us to our grandparents for a picnic and Easter egg hunt," Y/N said, crouching to browse a set of die cut decorations. "Do you want to do anything for Easter?"
In spite of his mother watching a televised mass and sharing a bag of jellybeans, the day hadn't ever been personal. The Fleck household was anathema to miracles. Even with the miracle he was currently living, he had no desire to celebrate a victory he didn't believe in. "No. Why?"
"You've got a heavy eye on the Peeps - my little sister likes to put them in cocoa. And I thought you were Catholic. Or at least raised Catholic, with all the prayer candles and icons in your apartment."
The answer came firmer than intended. "Those were Penny's."
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have assumed. You wouldn't have hung a Madonna over the bed. I bet you weren't responsible for that ugly cat candle, either."
Snorting, he rolled his eyes, recalling all he times he'd dusted his mother's knickknacks. The sculpted candles were the worst. They'd developed a weird film sticker than nicotine stains, and grime stuck in every crevice. On bad days he'd been tempted to throw them out. On good days he'd care for them, because Penny loved them so. Inklings of whimsy in a life of indifference.
The never indifferent woman at his side rose to walk with him. Grove's automatic doors opened and they spilled onto the busy sidewalk.
Two blocks up, a light sprinkling began, lent the pavement a velveteen sheen. With each step that sprinkling grew heavier. From a drizzle to a patter to an outright shower. Puddles formed beneath their feet, threatening shoe seams with leaks. Arthur crumpled his paper bag, shoved it in his tan jacket's pocket, and jerked his hood over his head.
The toe of Y/N's kitten heel skidded past a pool as she hopped to the right. "The weather report didn't mention rain!" she cried, ambles escalating to a jog.
A fierce gust sent sheets of water sideways, whipped the hem of her pleated skirt to flash her thighs. Arthur looped his arm through hers, pulled her into an alley to take refuge under the canary, corner awning of Mott's Spirits. Cigarette smoke drifted from the crowd gathered along the storefront. Her wrinkled nose kept him from lighting up himself.
She gathered the collar of her wool coat. "Well, I'd like us to do something small, if that's all right. It's been years since I've celebrated anything, really. I want to put all that behind me again, like last Christmas. Easter Parade's playing at the Majestic this week. I haven't seen it but the summary sounded like you. A song-and-dance romantic classic."
How could he argue with the sweetness of her reasoning? That he was the reason she wanted to celebrate? He gave a little nod. "I think Tuesdays are half price."
Just then, a bell rang out, crisp and clear despite the downpour. A bicycle messenger sped their way, a dozen plastic bags hanging from the ten-speed's handles. Arthur darted in front of Y/N, sought to protect her from the incoming splash. She yanked him tighter, out of the menace's path.
But it was no use. Muddled water pelted the back of his trousers, liquid ice soaked through white socks. He jolted to his tiptoes, teeth clenched against the stinging cold.
Y/N bent to survey the damage. A groan left her, which quickly became a laugh. "What an asshole," she said, then laughed all the harder. The warmth of it loosened his stance, and he found he had no choice but to join in. She settled back against the shop's window, stuck out her lower lip to blow a damp lock of hair from her forehead. The lock remained in place. "If only I'd had my umbrella."
Neon light from a Gotham Lottery sign spilled across her face. "Winners aren't born. They're made!" was the lotto's slogan, and Arthur had finally found a winning ticket. Orange accentuated the tawny flecks of her irises, rounded the curves of her cheeks. A perfect frame even an imagination as vivid as his couldn't improve.
A drop trickled down his scalp, skimmed the side of his neck, sneaked beneath his collar. He'd caught Easter Parade on television years ago. Studied Astaire's steps, how he'd slipped a diamond ring on the leading lady's finger. What would Y/N look like, Arthur wondered, in a lace bonnet, its ribbons tied under her chin? A hat he could loosen while they kissed, hold as a shield against prying eyes?
A couple of swells like them would make a beautiful pair, better than any Vanderbilt or Wayne.
When his thumb traced her jaw, her full lips parted, as if about to ask for a dance. Dark brows raised, her pupils dilated, full of unquenchable life. The affection in them, the openness. The caring curiosity and eager readiness to accept all of him made him tremble. Her love felt like rain on his skin, and for once he understood why someone might sing in it.
He leaned closer, until her breath brushed his lips. "Kiss me."
Her arms wound about him in an instant, a sudden, welcome pressure on his ribs. He cupped her face. Guiding, following, bracing. Their mouths a messy collision of desire and devotion and dreams. Her frame vibrated against his, the pulse under his fingertips beating to the rhythm of his heart.
At last, a wave of giggles broke them apart. Arthur pushed himself to stretch beyond his shy nature towards the forward, confident instinct he was learning to polish. His eyes flitted between hers, a demure smile adorning his cheeks. "I'd like to make love, if you wouldn't mind."
The blush he caused so easily crept across her face anew. "Last one home is on top," she said, and pressed the tip of her nose to his. "Give me a head start."
With that, Y/N held her purse horizontally above her head and sprinted into the deluge.

I didn't talk about this at all in my last doctor who post because there was so much else going on that I wanted to touch on, but after @mikesbasementbeets mentioned one of the closing lines of the episode in the tags, I kinda wanted to just talk about it a bit.
So, this is one of the rare episodes of dw where everyone lives at the end, including all of the victims who outright or technically died. Throughout basically the whole show, but especially the early seasons, and especially s1 with the 9th Doctor, there's an incredible emphasis on "we cannot interfere or else everything will fall apart." The episode right before these ("Father's Day") actually tackles this very idea, which I hope to explore sometime in another post. In short, the Doctor doesn't save people. Doing so often results in more harm than good (unless it wasn't meant to happen, but we don't have time to get into that here lol).
However, at the end of this episode, he does something completely different.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He says everybody lives. He sends out a mass of nanogenes, now reprogrammed, toward the gas mask soldiers surrounding the bomb site and they rewrite and "fix" their DNA, making them all normal humans again without the injuries of dead little Jamie. As I showed in the initial post, even Jamie winds up coming back to life, despite the fact that he was already dead when the nanogenes found his body and used him as a blueprint. Realistically, Jamie should still be dead because he wasn't technically "changed" by the nanogenes, simply brought back to life, which the Doctor earlier says is easy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's an extremely profound ending to a dw episode, and it's one that sticks with a lot of people.
Now bear with me because I'm sick with a cold as I write this so it might not be very coherent, but in conjunction with all of the other connections/similarities/parallels between these episodes and Stranger Things, this feels startlingly fitting for (at least part of) the conclusion to st.
Throughout all of st, we've seen time and again that knocking things down with violence doesn't really work. It's especially evident in st4 when Nancy, Steve, and Robin flambée Vecna, blast away a few chunks of flesh, and knock him out of the third story of a house. You'd think that would turn him into a pile of smoldering mulch, but it doesn't! Frankly, he gets up and walks away very quickly. We're shown and told time and again that killing outright does not work.
In these dw episodes, they could have tried killing any of the victims to keep them at bay (at one point the Doctor even pick-pockets Jack's sonic blaster so he won't use it on the victims). However, with the nanogenes present, they simply would have been "fixed" again and brought back to life. Much like Vecna, they would've just kept coming back.
And what winds up saving the day in dw? Love and understanding. When Nancy finally admits to Jamie that she's his mother, not his sister, and apologizes for everything that's happened and comes into contact with the nanogenes, it makes them fix their misunderstanding.
A lot of people talk about how Will said "we have to kill him" irt Vecna/One at the end of 4.09. However, again, we've seen that it literally does not work. And along with everything else surrounding the weirdness with identities in st, specifically with the distinctions between Henry/Edward, Vecna, and One (and Brenner) (check out the original post I linked at the top for links to other folk's posts about this), it's not far-fetched at all to assume that untangling the uncertainty left here will be what brings them closer to "saving the day," much closer than anymore fighting ever would.
We spend a lot of these dw episodes being scared of Jamie. Even Nancy is constantly visibly fearful of him and won't go near him, but in the end, she takes him into her arms despite the risk of her becoming infected. They don't brute force the nanogenes into understanding, they don't try to reprogram them, and they don't physically fight them off. They constantly run away, use words, or even sing them to sleep. There is very little violence in these dw episodes, and most of it comes from the victims themselves and is very tame.
Stranger Things, at its core, is about love, and that extends to the (supposed) villains. The way things have been presented thus far are very unreliable, but we have enough information from the show itself (aided by things like TFS and even bits of the VR game) to prove that there's something else going on, and maybe, just like with little Jamie, someone just needs a little bit of helpful truth.
As Joyce Maldonado once said, "Can love defeat fear?"

Urgh! The angst of Tyler Galpin X Sister! Reader— I LOVED IT
I'm probably going to make a few requests cuz I'm in love with your ideas(if you don't mind of course) but I will start with a not-so-random one
Could you do headcanons for Wednesday x Selective mute! Reader?
I'm making a series based on this pairing but the relationship/romance part it's not really my thing so...could you help? I mean, just ideas for them bonding and getting closer after season 1 would literally save me
It's such a pleasure to know that someone loves my works. Thanks you for the idea. I hope I managed to do it.
Wednesday x male! Reader
Tumblr media
Your life before Nevermore
Your parents were sirens and used to attend Nevermore. When they found out you are mute, their life mission became making your life as comfortable as it was possible.
They showered you with love and tenderness but your peers were pretty cruel. They called you 'fish' and taunted constantly.
You often changed schools because of your parents who tried to stand up for you by all possible ways including siren' song.
You loved reading so you are the greatest nerd in the world.
You have a great imagination. Instead of watching TV like ordinary kids, you wrote fantastic stories about your adventures and you being normal. After all humiliation you became introverted and insecure.
You liked to have a stroll when streets get empty. You had a dog Bonnie so it was like your motivation to get out of your house. She was quite playful and adored you. You found her when she was a little sick puppy. She was left to die and local kids tried to make her die sooner throwing rocks in her but you protected her, shielding her with your back.
- Get lost, freak, or you want to get a punch?
- They are the same. This trash is dirty and ugly and this one can't even say a single word.
- His brain is so small that he can't do it!
They laughed at you but it was usual for you. You stopped trying to find out why people are so tyrannic towards you because you got used to it.
Your parents saved you and praised for bravery. You had nursed Bonnie till she got better. Eventually, she became normal and looked like other dogs and still she kept to your side.
One day you were walking around the town with Bonnie and she sniffed something and started barking. These were local bullies who made your life in school miserable but you kept it to myself.
- Who is here? Oh, that's the poor boy who can't even say something.
- Jack, he isn't going to say something. Maybe, we can do it with another way.
They rushed to you, taking out a small knife from their pockets to scare Bonnie but she didn't let them approach you. She attacked one of them and he stabbed her with the knife.
Meanwhile another bully tried to beat a soul out of you. When you saw her blood, you went ballistic. Your eyes were full of anger and something clicked inside of you. The bully stopped and you pushed him. He wasn't trying to defend himself then you glared at the other and he frose. He started shaking and fell on the ground. You dashed to Bonnie. Your phone was broken so you took her in your arms. She was heavy but you didn't have other options. Your parents were shocked to see you covered in blood after a walk.
It's a pity but Bonnie lost much blood and died in your arms. You were depressed for a long time, keeping her toys and photos.
You met the bullies in the school and they pinned you by your closet:
- We don't know how you and your shitty dog escaped but now we want to continue our conversation
You felt the anger again. Because of these bastards you lost your only friend. Their looks made your blood boil. You felt the feeling again and they froze. You used the opportunity and punched them, not caring that someone can see or hear you beat them. When you saw blood, you felt excitement. You were dragged by some teachers. That's how you were expelled.
Your parents didn't scold you for this and one day enrolled you to Nevermore, thinking that you can find some friends there.
Your life in Nevermore
Gossips about you reached the school before you. Everyone talked behind your back but you didn't care. Rumours about you reduced when this strange girl appeared because her story was more interesting than yours.
One day you were paired with her. She looked intimidating but turned out to be as indifferent to everything as you. You agreed to do your project in your room because you didn't have a rommie.
You were doing your project and she saw a photo on your table by your bed.
- Dog lover?- she asked showing you some signs
You squeezed a pen in your hand and ink was all over your hand. You left her, saying that you would be soon, trying to hold tears.
She was surprised and understood that the dog on the picture isn't ordinary but she was busy with her investigation so left the topic.
After the project your ways crossed rarely. You were also busy with investigating the case. You had your suspicions about Weens, who tried to hide death of Rowan. You was the one who found Thing at the station. It told you about Wednesday investigation.
That's when you started talking with Wednesday about the case. Some students started shipping you both.
She asked out the barista from Weathervane on the day of Raven. You, Eugene and her had decided to watch after the cave, but she chose to stay.
You left with Eugene. At first everything was okay but when someone appeared and burnt the cave you tried to see who it was, but you stepped on a branch and the sound revealed you. You tried to run away but the monster appeared. You tried to hypnotize it but its claws made a deep cut on your stomach. You passed out from blood loss.
Wednesday felt guilty and tried to visit both of you every day. Your parents appeared as soon as they heard about the accident. They had an argument with Weems calling her 'heartless witch who can't cope with her only duty - keep children safe' . They wanted to take you from the school but you were in coma. Wednesday promised them to look after you and they said that after the loss of Bonnie you avoided people so they are glad you to have found friends.
You woke up shortly after Eugene. Your parents wanted to take you away from Nevermore but you knew that if you do it, you will regret it. You had seen red boots and recognised them as Thornhill's.
You wanted to tell Wednesday but she already had left. You were worried and when Thing with Enid bumped into you, your guts told you that she is in a danger. You dashed to the Crypt with them, but when Enid started her transformation you had to go there by myself
You saw Tyler who was holding Wednesday by her collar so you pushed him. He transformed into a Hyde and attacked you. You used your hypnosis and it helped till the moment you lost control over him hearing some noises. He threw you in a tree and got ready to end your life but Enid saved you.
Wednesday dragged to Nevermore, knowing what's going on there right now. You saw the castle in fire and everyone was in panic but you were ready to any danger. While Wednesday was fighting with Crackstone, you were helping others to get out and then came back to the castle. You found Thornhill, who wanted to kill Wednesday so you attacked her from behind.
When everything ended, you took a small ball from your pocket, looking at it closely. It had some marks from Bonnie's teeth. You felt the hand on your shoulder, it was Wednesday. She hugged you tightly unexpectedly and you returned it. She told you about her Nero, who had been killed by bullies, and said the words you wanted to hear the most " I'm glad to have a friend like you" she smiled "If there were more people like you in the world, the world would be a better place. Hope to see you in the next semester"
" So do I" Enid appeared out of nowhere and hugged you
That's the time to turn a page and this time it will be easier with a friend who accepts you.

You were sure that ninety-nine percent of the time, you were babysitting little Jack Hotchner while his dad was out saving lives. You had entered the single father's life when he needed your help the most. You knew Haley's sister, and she had recommended you when she couldn't watch the boy. At first, you were hesitant, seeing as though how hectic his work hours were and you were still in college. But you were well graduated by now, and more than willing to watch Jack for days, even weeks on end, and it wasn't just because of your admiration of his father.
Was the whole 'babysitter having a crush on the father' thing a bit cliche? Of course it was, and you would feel ashamed if it wasn't for the way that he looked at you when he had gotten home.
Jack was sure that this would be another December without his father, and you were determined to distract the saddened boy by showing up to the apartment with all sorts of fun arts and crafts, and tonight, you guys were going to make some ornaments. Of course you didn't give him the glass kind, but the cheap wooden ones that were shaped in either a star or a tree, there wasn't much variety, but Jack seemed hellbent on putting as much detail onto the tree that he chose as he could.
"Do you think daddy will like it?" You heard him pipe up from besides you. You were working on an ornament of your own, your fingers wet with glue as a piece of a pipe cleaner stuck to it. The tree had a poorly drawn star on the top that was then filled in with yellow glitter glue. Beads were glued in place of the bulbs, some ranging from red, blue, to purple; it was a colourful mess and you loved it so much.
"It looks great buddy!" You praised him enthusiastically. You gently wove your finger through the white string that would soon be used to hang it up on the tree. "Once it dries, you wanna put it right next to your dad's FBI ornament?" You asked with a smile. He nodded with a small pout, beginning to rub his eye in a attempt to wash away the tiredness. "Yeah." He said quietly. Your smile softened, gently setting the piece down as you gripped his tiny hand, "C'mon," You said, "Let's put you to bed."
He went down without a fight, you tucking him in as you placed a warm kiss to his forehead.
You wished that it could always be like this, you putting him to bed as you treated to you and Aaron's room, but it wasn't right, and you knew that it wasn't, but why did you want it so bad?
You began to decorate the tree that you had managed to get out from the hall closet that it was stuffed into. It wasn't anything too impressive, but it was good enough for you as you did as you promised, putting his father's FBI vest ornament near the very top. Your ears piqued when you heard the front door quietly open, shutting with faint click as you listened to Aaron kick off his shoes.
You knew the man must've been tired, and with all of the lights off, the only thing illuminating the entire apartment being the Christmas lights, you wouldn't be surprised if he just straight up passed out.
You watched as Aaron's eyes fell on to his messy dinning table, which had all sorts of fun things scattered on it. He picked of Jack's tree, examining it.
"Be careful," You called out to him softly, "It might be wet still. I hadn't put Jack down that long ago, if you want to see him. There's also dinner in the fridge, it should still be warm, but y'know, it's cold and all that." You rambled aimlessly. "Thank you." Aaron had finally said, stomping over to you.
"You didn't have to do this." Motioning to your splurging of Christmas decorations. You just shrugged, grinning at him. "It was the least I could do, Aaron. Plus, I like doing this, and it was totally worth it, because Jack had a fun time too." You could see a grin of his own tugging at the corner of his lips. "Is that so?" You nodded, "Yep. Who do you think that tree is for?"
And you could've sworn you saw his eyes light up.

Jack watched his feet swinging for a moment, too short for the tall bed.
He didn't know when he had gotten this power. Maybe he always had it.
He remembered being a baby in his mother's womb and feeling how scared and afraid to have him out there in the world like a baby, so he made himself grown.
Or maybe it was something that came from absorbing Chuck's power, though most of it was gone - Free will was finally real.
Either way, Jack just knew that one day he was in his bed, watching TV on his laptop, and then he looked down on himself and he was just a small child.
He didn't freak out.
It wasn't like he didn't want it.
So he reached for his favourite teddy - talking Marwin, a gift from Cas - and hugged him close. It was so much bigger now, he needed more than just his hand to hold it close.
"What do I do?" he tried to ask, but the bear didn't answer, so he just went back to his show.
Bluey was very cool. The music was nice, and he wanted to be like her.
He wished he had someone to giggle around and play with, like Bluey had Bingo.
Jack kept watching for another hour, and by the time Sam was back to get him for dinner, he was older again.
He didn't understand what it all meant, but he didn't want to stop.
So, since he was an actual adult, he went online and got things for himself. Colouring books, toys, squishmallows - his favourite - and lots of soft clothes that made him feel very small.
Now, Jack knew he should tell someone. He knew he probably should have told his father, most especially. But thinking of telling him made him think of the empty and how he died because he was trying to save him, and his stomach would act all weird, and he knew he would cry if he was smaller.
They didn't talk about things because Jack had fixed everything!
So why mess it up again?
So, he kept it a secret. Dean always said that usually worked. And it did.
Until it didn't.
They were out to a hunt in New Orleans, in the swamps, and Dean was excited to bring Jack along. He wanted Jack to get better at hunting, which made him excited! He craved Dean's approval and worked hard for it.
Even though Dean's motto was ‘prepare for anything’, they were not prepared for five swamp witches. Castiel was able to take some on his own, but with his limited grace, he had to team up with Dean, and Jack did the same with Sam.
He tried to stay close to him, but then he was thrown into the lake, and when he was out, the witches had his dad in a chokehold of vines.
"No!" he cried out.
"You killed my sister," she hissed cruelly. "I'll take something from you, too, now."
The vines wrapped around him, pulling him into the mud, and Jack panicked.
"No, please," he tried to beg as Sam's face became red.
She couldn't hurt him, no!
"I'll drown you until you die," she taunted Jack. "And kill your father here right in front of your eyes, and you can do nothing about it."
"No!" he shouted, feeling his eyes glowing. "You won't hurt him! I won't let anyone else die!"
A blast of light came out of him and he couldn't stop screaming, until his throat was hurting and he was sobbing, tiny feet stuck in the mud and the vines weren't holding him anymore.
"Jack?!" he heard. "Oh my God."
Sam grabbed him, lifting him, and Jack whined, crying and crying, trying to stop but he just couldn't!
His emotions were too much, everything was too much.
He barely understood what the others said as Sam wrapped something warm and soft around him and rubbed his back, walking.
The floor was so distant now, he was so tall.
"It's alright," he spoke softly. "You are alright, it's alright."
But he just fisted his shirt in his little hands.
Of course he knew he was alright! But he was scared.
She had almost killed him.
"Are you sure he isn't hurt?" Castiel asked from behind him.
"I checked," Sam's big hands rubbed his back. "But he won't calm down."
He sat in the car with him, and he could hear movement around them.
"Boy might be small, but he's got some strong lungs," Dean grunted.
They could have died!
Again!
And he couldn’t see them dying again, he couldn’t!
What if he hadn’t saved them, and then they were hurt? And maybe one of the witches was still there and maybe she would come after them, and then his family would be hurt, and…
“Alright!” Dean spoke and the car suddenly stopped. “Give him to me. You drive.”
Sam froze, holding him.
“Dean…”
"I will not be driving back to the motel covered in swamp and witch guts with a screaming kid,” he interrupted him. “Hand him to me.”
Jack cried more. Was he mad at him?
Had he done anything wrong? Why was he so loud and angry?
Sam moved and passed him on, and Jack was ready to hear him saying he was crying too much, and was disturbing them and had to shut, up, but Dean just held him close.
“Hey, Jack,” he spoke softly, rubbing his back with a hand and petting his hair with another. “It’s alright. We’re safe, everyone is safe.”
Jack squeezed his shirt in his hand, trying to breathe. But before they weren’t!
“You’re safe,” he assured him again. “We are safe. We are going to be alright.”
He could just sniff, and Dean moved him back, looking at his face, and focused his green eyes on him.
“Can you breathe with me?” he asked.
Jack tried to nod, still sobbing, and Dean opened his mouth like a fish, taking his hand and putting it on his chest and doing the same with Jack.
“We suck in,” he instructed, and breathed in, and he tried to follow him along. “Hold it.”
Dean puffed his cheeks, and he did the same,
He raised his hand, and showed him his closed fist, counting up to five with it.
“And out,” he exhaled slowly.
He nodded, doing it with him, and Dean smiled softly.
“Again, okay?” he asked.
Jack let him guide him, and finally felt himself a little bit calmer, and rested his cheek on his chest, turning to the side as Dean just continued to rub his back, now slowly.
It was only then that he saw Sam.
He was all dirty, with big red marks on his neck.
Oh no!
He whined, unable to stop himself, and Dean brushed his hair back.
“Hey,” he called softly, making him look at him. “You’re scared for Sammy, that is it? He’s okay, it was just a scare. Sammy is a big boy.”
He nodded to himself. Alright, okay.
Yes, he was alright.
Sam was super strong. Well, not as strong as Cas, but still really strong!
He almost dozed off into Dean’s chest - the car was moving so nicely, and the noise felt good. But Jack woke up when they reached the motel, and he adjusted him in his arms.
“Okay, Jack,” he squeezed him a little, opening the door of the car. “Let’s get you cleaned up, uh?”
“I do it,” Castiel spoke before Dean could step out, and he turned to see him standing outside.
He felt him stopping.
“Are you sure?” he asked. “I mean, he’s like… he is a kid, we should-”
“He is my son, Dean,” Castiel interrupted him, firmly.
Jack turned to look at him, and stretched his arms to him, and put his head on his shoulder when his father picked him up.
Cas easily graced all the mud and blood away from him, but he put some warm water to place Jack in the tub, and knelt in front of him to scrub him clean.
He just wished they had some bath toys. The water felt so boring.
"Jack?" he called softly, rubbing soap on his arms and shoulders, to clean him. "Do you know who I am?"
He looked up and smiled. Of course he knew!
"Papa!" he cooed.
Castiel relaxed, his shoulders dropping a little as he relaxed.
“Yes, sweet boy,” he scrubbed his neck. “Do you know how this happened?"
Oh.
They didn’t know that it was Jack who had done this.
They probably thought it was the witch.
The witch who had been trying to hurt his dad, and then he-
"I hurt that lady," he realised, pouting and running his hand through the water while Cas ran shampoo through his hair.
"You were protecting Sam," Cas corrected him, and covered his eyes with a clean hand as he rinsed it off.
Still, Jack continued to pout.
"I don’t like hurting people..." he confessed.
Even if it was to protect other people.
Castiel sighed and looked at him, sad.
"I know, and you shouldn’t have to," he caressed his hair. "You seem to be all clean, are you ready to come out?"
Jack nodded. He usually liked bath time at the bunker, but there were no bubbles he could make and no toys he could play with, so he just let papa lift him up and bundle him in a towel.
When they walked into their room, seeing Dean walk past them, he raised his eyes to find Sam there in front of a mirror.
"Sam,” Cas squeezed him close. “Let me heal you.”
He shook his head, looking at them.
"No, no, Cas, you’ve used up a lot of grace,” he waved a hand to him, not even looking in his direction. “It’s just the skin, don’t worry."
When he turned around, his face softened the moment Sam saw him.
"Hey buddy,” he walked to him, and tickled his belly, making him giggle. “Your dad got you all cleaned up, uh?”
“He is not a muddy boy anymore,” Castiel joked.
Sam smiled and touched his face, hand looking huge.
"Well, it looks like Jack's clothes shrunk with him, but they’re all pretty dirty,” he told his papa and then looked at him. “So your tighty whiteys will have to do, little man, and you can borrow one of Dean's shirts."
He giggled.
Tighty whiteys.
He was still laughing about it as Sam pulled a Metallica shirt over him, covering him up like a dress - though Jack didn’t quite care - and jumped at the fluffy motel carpet when his feet touched it.
So fluffy!
“Are you sure he should be barefoot on this carpet?” Castiel asked, eyes focused on it as if he could see every stain down the molecular level. “It’s so dirty.”
Jack giggled.
Molecular.
That was a funny word too.
“Well, his socks are all caked with mud,” Sam remarked. “Plus, kids build up immunity. He’ll be alright.”
Jack fell seated, and then slapped the carpet.
Fluffy fluff.
“I didn’t hear the witch say anything before she died,” he told them, sounding more serious. “Are you sure it’s a curse?
“What else could it be?” Castiel asked back, and Sam sighed.
“We shouldn’t have gone on this hunt,” he pinched the bridge of his nose. “But it’s what we do, right?”
The two exchanged looks, and his Papa tilted his head, looking sad and unsure.
“Does it always have to be?”
The question hung in the air before the bathroom door opened, and Dean looked over at them.
"Is that my shirt?" Dean suddenly looked at Jack and he smiled, pulling his legs under it.
"He needed clothes," Sam said simply, walking into the bathroom and closing the door.
He was so tall.
Dean sighed
"That was the only shirt I packed," he huffed, but he didn’t seem to care, laying on the bed shirtless.
Oh! The bed!
He stood up and tried to climb up, grabbing the mattress and jumping a little.
He was too little to climb.
“Unkie Dean!” he whined.
Dean chuckled.
“You got it, buddy,” he flipped through the channels. “I believe in you.”
Jack stopped, surprised.
He did?!
“Okie,” he grabbed the mattress, trying his hardest.
“Do you want my help?” papa offered.
He shook his head.
“No, thank you,” he swung his leg up, propping it against the mattress to help him up. “I got it.”
He was able to throw his arms over, but the quilted blanket started to make him slip down just after he grabbed it, and Jack gasped, falling on his butt on the carpet.
“Oh no, poor buddy,” Dean laughed.
He pouted, feeling his lip trembling and about to cry, but suddenly Dean’s arm swung over the side of the bed, and he didn’t seem to notice it, just watching the TV.
This was his chance!
Jack grabbed his arm and used it to climb up right, and almost missed when he helped him move up, pulling his arm back and holding his leg.
“See?” he asked. “I told you that you could do it.”
He squealed, all excited, and jumped on the bed, happy.
“Papa, I did it!”
Castiel walked to him, putting his arm out, looking a little cautious.
"I’m so proud of you, angel," he smiled.
Jack giggled, feeling a little flushed as he fell and sat on the bed.
“Yeah, you are a baby angel, uh?” Dean teased, tickling his belly.
Jack huffed. Baby? He wasn’t a baby!
“I’m not a baby!” he held up his hand. “I’m five! Not a baby!”
Dean just chuckled
“Oh yes you’re right you’re not a little baby with a cute baby face,” he suddenly scooped Jack into his arms, trapping him between his chest, squeezing and tickling him more.
He couldn’t help laughing more.
“Be careful Dean,” Sam called, and he looked over to find him across the room in his pyjamas. “We don’t know if he remembers being potty trained.”
He wanted to frown, but only managed to laugh.
Of course he remembered how to use the potty!
“Daddy!” he called, squirming away from him. “Help!”
Sam hurried over and picked him up, freeing Jack from his brother's tickling fingers.
“You’re safe,” he smiled.
Jack watched his face, finding him a little conflicted, but just cuddled up to him.
“Daddy,” he yawned.
Oh, he was sleepy.
Sam moved to his bed and gave him space to cuddle up to him.
“Don’t think too much about it, Sammy,” Dean yawned. “Tomorrow we’ll get back to the bunker and we’ll figure out what to do.”
Jack squirmed a bit but tried to keep his eyes closed.
His bigger side was worried about what he could say when they got back home. He couldn’t be a baby forever, but he didn’t want to go back to being just Jack.
He relaxed when he felt a hand on his hair, brushing it back, and a kiss on his forehead.
“Sleep well, Jack,” papa’s deep voice soothed him while daddy held him closer. “I’ll watch over you.”
Maybe he could try to stay little for just a little longer.

"I did it out of honor"
Pirates of the carribean - Request
for the lovely @umgatochamadopercyval
With i share my birthday today at the 27. december. Capicorns!
Happy birthday to you! I hope you have a nice birthday today with your loved once. Be healthy and may your wishes come true.
Enjoy the little short story with James Norrington.
Tumblr media
"Y/N!" she shouted. Your beloved sister. A graceful but strong woman and the real daughter of Gavenor Swann. Elizabeth.
You always fight since you were little. The family adopted you after you los your family. Elizabeth nearly begged her father. Now you watched her with Will and interrupted a moment of peace. A kiss between those too.
"Don't worry" a voice whispered. "I take care of you. Noone will harm you and she loves you either way." You turned around. Sparrow.
"What?"
"You fear you lost her. You don't want to be alone. Aftee you lost your home, your father."
Jack took some steps. "As long Beckett has any use for him."
"Our father lives!" you insisted.
The pirate's words echo in your head. If there were a handful of decent pirates, and if Jack is one of them, then it doesn't matter. Because aboard these pirates, you're just a prisoner and you didn't think you will see Jack Sparrow again.
-
"Darling, without me you would still be on board. I saved you. No Navy, no Will Turner, nor your sister or that bloody Norrington. So you owe me, aye?."
You look at Jack. He was right. It was he who saved her. He pushed open the door, stood over you and freed you. So you own him at least respect and gratitude. You don't admit it but he grew into your heart. He isn't that bad. A filthy pirate yes but no villian.
And yet you are now standing between the men who conquered your heart. One quickly and with ease. You have always admired the other. But James had eyes for your sister. So she was the older one and the one who represented her family. You're just adopted.
You turn to Jack. Freedom with him was exciting and enticing. He showed you more respect in some situations than a Nobelman would. you smile at him Jack leans back slightly and opens his arms. He grinned and pulled up a corner of his mouth. With him you have someone who accepts you as you are.
"A choice has been made! A choice against true love." You turn around sharply when you hear James moan. Davy grabbed him. The captain of the dutchman is happy. He was right when he said you are a monster of the sea a daughter of Calipso and don't deserve to be loved.
Tumblr media
The admiral's eyes meet yours. Full of sadness and disappointment that destroyed the rest of longing. "Let him go." you demand "I told you the loser knows the sea." With a shove, James falls over the rail. "No!" you cheer and Davy laughs. "We have to go. THIS is our chance! He won't survive!" Jack whispers, grabbing your sleeve.
You desperately try to break away from Jack's grip. "Y/N!" your name out of his mouth lets you see him. "Remember I rescued you. Remember all the nights of fun and rum. Of our connection." But then he understood and loosens his fingers from you.
Tumblr media
A second full of deep understanding before you heave yourself over the railing with quick steps and jump towards the ice-cold water. The sea embraces you like a piece of motherland that calls back a prodigal daughter.
Once the transformation is complete, you could swim faster against the current and grab James by the wrist. He has already closed his eyes when he feels your hands and the pull up. Stunned by the cold and the weight of soaked clothing, he could barely move.
"I'm so sorry. Please hold on!" you call out to him as soon as he was up. Time stopped for a moment. Stopped the sea and you float. With the last of his strength, James lifts his hand and puts it on your cheek. He looks into your [your eye colour] eyes. His blue lips form your name and a smile. At least he sees you in his last hour. Before he loses consciousness, you give him a kiss on his cold lips. Trembling with anger, you clutch his clothes even more. It must not end.
Tumblr media
Breaking waves. The constant murmur was only drowned out by the birds migrating across the blue sky.
The sun blinds you as a cough brings you back to reality.
You pull yourself up and see him. The admiral of your heart. James Norington. His actual hair already air dried. When he calmed down, your eyes meet.
His then wandered over your naked body and he realized what was happening.
Even before he asked, he took off his uniform coat and covered you with it. It was wet but served to hide you from view.
"Did I deceive you?" he begins. "Have you...are you...a mermaid?"
Silence. This silence confirms it to him. He looks at the sea and touches his forehead.
"You could have ripped me to pieces if the tales are to be believed. But you didn't." he mentions.
"James.." You lean in and adjust his head with your hand on his chin so he's looking at you. Your hand slips to his cheek.
"I don't kill anyone I have feelings for."
"Feelings?" - "Deep as the sea"
An encouraging smile from you preceded the kiss. But instead of you, James puts both hands on your cheeks and pulls your head into a kiss. In which his lips meet yours.
You kiss back passionately until you wrap your arms around his wet body and let yourself fall back onto the sand with him.
After minutes of intimacy, you now lie there, turned to each other, arm in arm. You can feel his breath through your nose on your forehead.
"I always thought you adored my sister Lizzie." you mumble
"I did it out of honor. I wasn't allowed to follow my heart either. She was a better match in the eyes of society. But when you were with her, I had to force myself not to keep my eyes on the face. Because you I wanted more" James kisses you on the forehead and you smile.
"But things have changed... Unlike her, you didn't join a pirate voluntarily."
"But me and Jack..."
"I ignore it. As much as it hurts... my love for you is stronger and I know we'll find a way."
Silently you snuggle up to his body, whose clothes are slowly drying and warming up in the sun. After all this time you could be with him. That he reciprocated your feelings made your heart leap for joy.

Have you heard Taylor Swift's You're On Your Own Kid?
The one line in the song, "As if I'd be saved by a perfect kiss" is so Jacks isn't it? The whole song is very Jacks- I can't explain it, but I get the feeling it's a sort of mixture between self-deprecation and nostalgia, that if he was the one singing it, it would be about his life, and what he's learned from it - maybe a little in the past, being miserable about his life, a slump when his One True Love straight-up exiled him from her country?
"My friends from home don't know what to say'' Castor and Lala, his once-bff and his (other, dead, he blames himself even if there was nothing he could have done) bff's sister, who didn't think he could keep the girl he loves first girl he has truly befriended in centuries, maybe millennia safe. Who believed he would hurt the first person he has opened up to about his past, maybe ever, by just being himself, unhurt, open.
This got poetic but now I am very interested in Sad Boy! Jacks...is it normal to wanna do a spontaneous song comparison so randomly.
i honestly haven't listened to taylor swift in years 😭😭😭
and the lyrics you listed honestly do fit him very well, i will listen to it later

Just like old times:
I was thinking about all of the things I imagine at like, 3am, so here it goes! It's when they're young... I saw a small scene of these characters together at some point and thought, how did they meet?
(I highly recommend listening to the said songs of Taylor Swift)
Nozel: 14
Jack: 13
Charlotte: 12 (Luck: 2)

Song: exile
I think I've seen this film before, so I'm leaving out the side door...
Charlotte woke up to the sound of a child crying. She looked around her room, dimly lit by a candle, confused. This wasn't the Roselei mannor... was it?
Oh, right..., she thought, this is Yvon, she remembered when she looked at her step-mother's sleeping form beside her.
She had been staying with Adua and her son, Luck, for a while. To be more specific, since she found out her Father had cheated, so, about three months. And over those three months, she saw Adua was not meant to be a mother.
She slowly lifted the old duvet from her small frame, and tip toed around the room to find Luck's crib. His cries ceased as his sister came into sight. Charlotte's eyes lit up and she smiled, as the little blonde boy reached his arms out for her to pick him up.
As she cradled Luck in her arms, Charlotte walked outside the room and sat him on the table while she went back to the room to get a bag, and packed some essentials: her clothes, Luck's, their coats, and Adua's blue old sleep shirt (she surely wouldn't miss it), Luck would always cling to its sleeves. She closed the door in hopes of not waking the woman up, and walked back to the living room.
She picked Luck up, and, with her bags, walked put of the house, into the night. She was headed for the closest beach.
They were on their own now.

Song: Willow
Life was a willow and it banged right to your window...
Nozel was outside the Silva Estate, deep into the forest, a normal thing to happen late at night, or early in the morning. Acier knew of his whereabouts, she would often see him walking outside the castle, or coming back mid-morning.
But she was no longer there...
So, it wasn't surprising that he ended up in the dark heart of the woods. He wasn't scared, he had his magic to protect him.
As he walked through the woods, he looked at the trees he knew so well. Dark bark, strong branches and dark leaves were dull compared to his save heaven. He made his way through the mist to a big willow tree. Its leaves were a light green, almost golden, hanging down like tears from the branches. The mist had left behind a trail of dampness and droplets on the leaves and trunk, making it easier to imagine the tree was shedding tears.
As if it understood Nozel's pain.
The silver-haired boy climbed the tree, in a route he had memorised long ago, leaning on branches and small holes to reach that one branch that accompanied him so many times in his sorrow. He finally sat down on the branch, other small ones making it easier to lean back.
He overlooked the misty forest, the moon shining dimly through the fog. He could still see the Silva Castle over a distant hill. Was the Weeping Willow that far away from home? he asked himself. He started to shake. He put his head between his hands and started to cry,
Over his mother,
over his absent father,
over his jealousy of stupid Fuegoleon and his stupid perfect family,
over how Solid hated Noelle,
over how he heard Nebra's muffled sobs at night,
over how unfair life was to his family.
Then, he heard it.
"Are you okay?"

Song: cardigan
You drew stars around my scars, but now I'm bleeding...
Jack didn't know what to feel. He was confused, scared, sad, angry.
Confused; why did they do it? scared; did they feel that way about me? sad; I thought they cared about me... angry; do they really think I would do it on purpose?
It slowly came to his senses that his home was not his home anymore. The beach side town he used to call home didn't want him anymore. All because of that small accident.
Okay, maybe it wasn't that small, but still.
As he walked beside the shore, he looked at the view. The waves were soft, and the sky was tainted peach pink, signalling the rising of the sun. He looked down to his wet feet on the sand, little droplets of blood falling onto it.
He had to get to a hospital, quickly. It was that, or loosing his eye. His strength was running out, and the gush on his face was pretty bad.
Was he really that bad?
As he was about to fall on the sand, two pairs of arms caught him, and lay him on a warm blanket placed on the grass. He could hear their voices talk, and a child cry as well. Probably scared of the deep wound.
"We need to take him to a hospital. Now." a female voice said with urgency.
"He wouldn't make it to the closest hospital. I can treat him." Said a calm, deeper voice. "Hey, this is going to hurt" Jack could faintly recognise the boy's accent as a way higher class. Royalty, maybe?
He heard the girl speak again, to calm down the baby, and then spoke to him.
"What's your name? I'm Charlotte, he's Nozel" In between the pain of the needle piercing his skin to close the wound, he managed to let out a faint whisper of his name.
The boy, who he assumed was Nozel, asked him again; "Jack what?"
He hesitated. He actually didn't know. He had been called "Ripper" all his life, so he answered carefully. "I don't know. They always called me Jack the Ripper because of my slash magic. How about you?"
"I'm Charlotte Ro- Voltia". Jack decided he would ask her about that slip later. "I'm Nozel Silva" So, he was right. A royal snob.
When Nozel was done, he and his companion asked him if he wanted to go with them.
Obviously, he said yes.

Song: happiness
There'll be happiness after me, but there was happiness because of me...
It was the magic knights exam, and a certain candidate had awoken the interest of a crowd. He was a strange mage, it was like he only wanted to fight. Most teenagers found him scary.
Now known as the Cheery Berserker, Luck Voltia had come out as a strange boy; and the eyes of three captains never left him during the exam. However, when the time came, neither of them rose their hand.
"The Black Bulls"
Charlotte looked at Yami, a tint of blush on her face, though her heart swelled with sadness.
When the exam was over, she walked out the first, followed closely behind by Nozel and Jack. The streets were empty, the wetness of the rain from a few hours ago was still on the stone floor. The streetlights were dimly lit by candles, and almost every pub was closed. She fell on the edge of the pavement, her head buried in between her hands.
Nozel and Jack came shortly after. Nozel was the first one to sit down with her, and pulled Charlotte in a deep hug. Jack had sat down as well. He muttered the words able to put a small smile on Nozel's face.
"The kid did grow up"
As they all smiled, they heard a faint voice, loud but distant.
"Captain Yami, hold on a second, please! I have to say goodbye to someone!" A boy said. The three turned around to the sound of the boy's close voice.
"Hi, Charlie"
"Hi, Luck"

At the end Donnie Darko realizes that by avoiding death at the beginning of the film, he created a separate and unstable branch of time, and in order to save Gretchen, and his mom and little sister, he has to accept his death & time travel back to that night and let himself die to correct the timeline. Is TW a separate branch caused by Dean, and Dean has to accept his death to correct it, so s1 ends with a rewind and John and Mary meeting again?
Um close but different. It's that It Was Always A Different Branch. He's not Making A New Timeline. Dean already broke the timeline before he was ever born.
Like, even Original Supernatural, in this context, means that The Timeline We Know Was Already Influenced By Dean.
This isn't a new idea. After all, we have to go back to the beginning, like Dean said. In The Beginning, the same point of buying a certain car even Chuck said was the beginning and end of it all. But it's not about the car, it's about the road it takes them on.
This resonance becomes even deeper than In The Beginning in the new framework.
Just as Jack went cosmogenic and exploded before and beyond spacetime to make it loud; just as Rowena went cosmic unbirthing hell; Cas, and heaven essentially, as will be explained to those that lost the original Occultum threads, but essentially mirror Rowena, hence Queen Bee--pop star diva alias, we all know his favorite.
It's Dean's turn as Cosmic Humanity(TM). The Deanmanity that Chuck looked at in season 11 talking, implicitly, about souls. Something greater than his pride or Ego that was there waiting to be born, that just is, like he and amara just were; that he feared as equals, like Amara, and set up systems of control and self extermination since he couldn't do it himself.
That Humanity.
That Humanity lost its face, its identity, knows who it's not, but not who it is. And at The 70s Spacetime, Humanity Itself is becoming an angry spirit and rattling time while it's stuck in its own cage. John and Mary save The Whole World. Dean Winchester.
Cas cared about the Whole World because of him. John and Mary, despite the future it gives her, choose the path they choose, together, because they ran their own race, they made their own rules, and mostly, they do okay with that.
And Humanity chooses this life, rather than to seal itself away or fade into oblivion or let Some Other Person Named Dean In Some Other World do it. This is Dean. Dean IS the One but he's also finding The One. Because this is a romance.
So it's not that we're watching an alternate reality. It's the same reality. It's always been this, because Dean Always Chose This, even if in mortal life he didn't understand why. Why Humanity chose to be born here. to NOT be the S13-14 burnt out AU they were never born in. Even if he could have lived coffeeshop What Is And Should Never Be, even if he could have been a Richester. To fight these hard fights. But it's not just about what and how they fought, who they lost or how they died.
It's about how they lived. Who they loved. What they learned, and what they chose. John, Mary, Dean, whoever. They already made their choices. Dean's just here to understand, and accept, why he made those choices, to understand Who I Am.
Would you do it over again? from different worlds. Or with all the pain. Would you do it over again, Ada? I followed my heart. I don't think that's ever a mistake. The day your dad left, neither of us stopped to say. I am never letting you walk out that door again, without telling you, that I love you. Me too. What's wrong with you? I don't--I can't--then SPEAK. I-- I--
