masterlist / ethan landry

was the sidewalk tilting? was that a giant chasm or just a slight crack in the cement? your legs felt like jell-o suddenly.

“oh- oh, okay. honey, can you- here just…” your boyfriend, ethan squatted down with his hands on his thighs and back slightly hunched. he looked over his shoulder and gave you that adorable smile. “piggyback ride for one, honey.”

feet stumble on the two steps you took, hands holding his shoulders as you regained your balance for a moment. and then you threw up on the lawn outside the party house. ethan rushed over to keep any hair away from your face and rubbed a soothing hand over your back as you heaved until nothing came up. as you stood up you wiped the back of your hand over your mouth and then pouted with droopy eyes at your boy.

“oh, honey…” ethan murmured. the hand not stopping their motions as you flung yourself into a hug.

“i’m tired.” mumbled into his neck. ethan asked you to repeat yourself so you moved your head back and said again, “i’m tired.” in a more whiny tone.

“okay, well, let me give you a piggyback ride to my dorm. just gotta stay awake for ten more minutes, can you do that?” his big hands held your cheeks to keep your head from lulling about.

you managed a weak nod then ethan returned to his previous position. your hands back to holding his shoulders and you stalled for a moment, again. “gonna throw up again?” you heard the worry in his tone. you shook your head and before ethan moved, an impulsive thought came to mind. you smacked his ass.

“y/n!” ethan screeched and you just giggled. “o- okay. i’m ready to- to head home now.” ethan watched you for a moment longer before facing forward. you jumped on his back a little shaky, but ethan’s hands caught your thighs and hitched you to a comfortable spot as your arms wrapped around his shoulders and neck.

the two of you walked in silence for a while. taking notice of everyone’s party attire or listening to the music that was booming through the walls. the whooping and hollering of drunk college students mixed with the honking of horns from passing cars. the blackmore fountain came into view.

lips started to press kisses onto the side of ethan’s profile. exaggerating mwahs, sloppy aim, ethan’s boyish giggles. your love attack continued until ethan stopped at the door to his building. two more sweet kisses to his right cheek just as he tapped your thigh, telling you to slide down.

when you rounded his back and saw his face, you had to suppress the grin from coming to. ethan’s brows moved and arched in question.

“what?” a hand came to his face, “do i have-“ fingers moved away and were stained red, from your lipstick. a drunken snort at the look of shock painting ethan’s face while you were just overjoyed.

“honey… i know this color stains.” “well, all the girls ogling at you will know that you're spoken for.”

his lips quirked and he looked at the ground before pulling open the door. “spoken for? i didn’t realize this was the eighteen hundreds.” he pushed you through the threshold and moved towards the elevator to his floor.

a sigh of relief left your lungs when ethan pushed the door to his and chad’s shared dorm room. zombie-like feet carried you towards ethan’s made bed and you flopped face-first into the covers. the feel of ethan’s fingers holding your ankle and pulling your shoes free made you sigh in contentment.

“honey,” his hands held your waist and tugged at your body, “i have those wipes you keep here. you have to take your makeup off. you always reprimand me in the mornings if i don’t tell you.”

a huff as you pushed off the bed and turned onto your back. body at a slight angle with just a leg over the edge, with your hands sitting over your stomach, “can you just do it for me? please?” lips in a pout with pleading eyes.

ethan swiped at the concealer that was creased under your eyes, “okay. i’ll be gentle.” he bent under his bed for the box of stuff he kept specifically for you.

“you always are.” a mutter as you watched his curly hair dip down. his face popped back into view, a blue pack of makeup wipes in hand. you shuffled your head around his pillow until your head was turned his way, watching his fingers pull the flap away and waiting for him to caress your face like you were fine china.

“i just… rub this over your face?” he stared at the material. “yeah, but you’ll need to be light-handed around my eyes. don’t have many of my lashes to spare.”

ethan’s upper body leaned over yours, his left hand holding a side of your face while his right moved the wipe over your skin. he watched as your layers of makeup left your face and showed your imperfect skin beneath; pores, bumps, pimples, and some annoying facial hair that needs to be dealt with on another day. but you didn’t shy away as ethan’s eyes danced over those bumps, you just gazed back with slightly hooded eyes. Blown pupils zoned in on the kiss stains that marked him as yours.

“take a picture. it’ll last longer.” pushing his curly bangs away, “too lazy to grab my phone. but i so wish i wasn’t.” at the simple comment ethan stopped his task and grabbed your phone from the charger and plopped it on your clasped hands. a quick “thank you” as you went to the camera and captured the kissed-stained face of your boyfriend who smiled easily and flashed those lovely eyes. happy with the results you let him get back to work without interruption.

after three makeup wipes to ensure your face was as clean as it could be for the night, you changed into comfy clothing. you waited in bed as you watched ethan flit around the small space, turning the light off, and climbed into bed.  

the two of you lay side by side, hands tucked under your heads that sat atop pillows. your eyes were straining to stay awake for just a bit longer, but you were pulled by the heavy hands of the sandman into lovely dreams involving ethan. your ears were able to hear the bedding crunch around you and feel the slight heat that ethan’s body gave off as he pulled you closer to his person. his hand rubbed up and down along your back and he pressed sweet kisses to your forehead.

the last kiss lasted just a bit longer. he lingered in the touch before pulling back and tucking your head to his neck. ethan whispered good night and i love you, before dreaming of you while you slept beside him.

The sound of cracking bones and fists coming into contact with skin could be heard all around you.

You looked around from the corner where you were hiding, inspecting the intruders that barged into Arlong’s park.

You recognised Nami with them, these must be the Strawhat pirates she would talk about.

The way she talked about them convinced you she was fond of them, but you didn’t know them, so you couldn’t trust them.

The two men were occupied with some of the fish men, and you still sat hidden.

You noticed one of them run away, a fish man chasing after him.

So you followed them.

“Too bad little one, just when we were starting to have some fun.” You heard the fish man say.

The strawhat pirate lifted himself up, calling after the creature.

He lifted his sling shot, releasing the band.

The tiny ball broke the glass bottle the fish man was holding, setting him on fire.

You heard him shout something, inaudible to your ears, so you moved closer.

“And, no one around to see it.”

You felt the tiniest bit of sympathy for him, before remembering he was the enemy.

“I saw it.” You revealed yourself from behind a tree, startling Usopp.

“Oh, well, did you see that?! I took down a villian!” Usopp jumped around excitedly.

“You still haven’t defeated me.”

He ceased his jumping, turning around to look at you in surprise.

“What…”

You drawed out two long, sharp swords.

“Come on then, defeat me. Then we’ll see if you crew will still believe you.”

You charged at him, swinging your weapons about as he dodged every one.

“Hey! We don’t need to fight! I’m sorry for killing your friend!” Usopp pleaded with his hands held out.

“He wasn’t my friend, merely an acquaintance.” Still calm, you swung the blade across his face, making him trip and fall to the ground.

You leaned down so you were eye to eye. “Have you given up yet?”

Usopp didn’t answer, instead he just stared at you.

The silence was intense, but he broke it when he said :

anika dragged you from your dorm to this party. you constantly tried to protest any involvement with the frat party happening on a thursday night when you had a class friday morning, a class with a test. she wouldn’t hear any of it, saying you already know the material and that you needed to take a break. shut your mind down and just have fun, drink just a little so your limbs aren’t so tense.

also she might have mentioned that chad would be there and that he’s been asking about you all day. wouldn’t leave anika alone until she promised to bring you around. and well, you might have agreed that a little study break would be nice. and anika being the fashion major she is, loves when you agree to go out so she can raid your clothes and work her magic.

you, anika, and mindy walked to the designated party house not far from campus. the three of you would switch from having discussions about the pain your professors were ringing the class through to having mindy talk about the latest horror movie she watched as she gave a quick rundown and then rated it. and just as you were three houses away…

“so my brother has the hots for you.” mindy, always with her bluntness.

a sigh knowing where this conversation is heading, “and i’ll outright say it, i like your brother.” the girls gasped. a flicker of confusion over your features, “i thought that’s what you wanted to hear.”

“well, yeah. but you said it without hesitation. so we see that this is more than simply liking, you’re infatuated.” anika’s cheeks were pushed high with her beaming smile. mindy just held a quirk to the corner of her lip, “gross as it might sound, i hope the two of you kiss. don’t get laid tonight. it’ll just ruin the romantics.”

“oh, so now i know the romantic genre is second to horror. more mindy meeks-martin lore unlocked.” joking with her as you ascended the steps and opened the front door.

the smell of weed, cigarettes, and alcohol filled your nostrils within the ten seconds you stood in the doorway. you fully regret saying yes to a party knowing these things usually just cause anxiety rather than mindless fun. but this was college, you told yourself you would try to step out of your comfort zone when presented with opportunities. anika presented the party, you stepped out of the comfort of your dorm, and now you wished to high tail it back to the small space.

“ah, ah, ah.” anika made sure to grab your forearm, already seeing the gears turning in your head. “no, you are gonna take a shot with us and then go find your boy.” tugging you along to the kitchen.

after downing a shot, well three shots, you filled a solo cup and made your rounds of the packed house trying to find the boy that calls your attention. you gave mumbled “excuse me’s” and “sorry” though no one cared as you shoved your wave into different areas. your shoulders would slump every time you didn’t find him. you told yourself if he wasn’t in the next room, you’ll look for mindy and anika then tell them you're heading home.

after more shoving, you found yourself in what appeared to be a game room or something, there was only beer pong set up with a crowd surrounding it. you journeyed closer and were able to hear the conversation over the loud music and a name catches your attention.

“chad, come on man. thought you were better than this.”

“shut up, derek. you're not doing any better.”

there were ooos that followed then they resumed their game. you leaned against a wall with your feet crossed at the ankles, not wanting to disrupt the game while it was in play. with the light dimmed you allowed yourself the pleasure of just taking in chad. the way his biceps would flex as he prepared a throw, how he did little hops on the balls of his feet from excitement or nerves. His gleaming smile showed his white teeth, or how his eyes widened and his brows rose slightly when he found you huddled away.

he clapped his partner on the back as he made his way through the crowd and came to a stop just in front of you. pushing your feet flat to the floor and standing at full height, you loosened your arms out just a bit as you shared smiles.

“i didn’t know you were coming.” he bit his lips as he tilted his head. “well, a little birdly told me you were asking for me.” trying to play coy as you took a sip of your drink. the spiked punch made you feel warm.

chad gave a deep chuckle, “anika and mindy?” a simple nod to his question. “well, i’m glad they brought you here. i actually have a favor to ask of you.”

he leaned his forearm beside your head, body moving slightly closer to yours. your eyes did a quick sweep of his body and when they landed on his face his smile grew slightly wide, probably cause he caught your wondering gaze.

“what might i get out of this favor?” voice dipping into a playful tone. watching how chad’s eyes dance across your face and made oh-so-obvious glances at your lips.

“well, first the favor is you standing by the beer pong table and being my lucky charm.” you couldn’t help the raise your brows, “lucky charm, eh? didn’t realize i was so special.”

again that charming smile caused your heart to beat a little faster. chad did a pass of the table seeing they were resetting for a new game, his eyes back to you, specifically your lips.

“and if i win… i get a kiss from my lucky charm.” his voice dropped, but he was close to your ear and you were able to hear the price he was giving.

you pretend to mull the thought over, liking the tiny hint of pleading in his eyes. “what if you lose? what do i get then?” personal space long forgotten.

“if i lose, i’ll take you on a date.” “kinda backward, isn’t it? shouldn’t you be proposing a date for winning and a kiss for losing?”

he shrugged, always suave. “either way, it’s a win-win in my books. so, my lucky charm… what do you say?”

his friends were starting to get impatient and were calling for him, or making kissing noises your way then laughing. you ignored them as the two of you got lost in each other’s eyes, fully understanding that no matter the outcome, both of you would be happy with the reward.

“okay.” you held a hand out and chad shook on it, “deals on.” with your hands still held, chad pulled the two of you to the group of rowdy boys.

“alright! me and james versus derek and paul. let’s do this!”

honestly, you got very bored of the game quickly, and who wouldn’t? boys taking turns throwing a dirty pong ball into cups of beer before chugging them clean, it’s nothing entertaining. but you wanted either of your prizes so you stayed close to chad’s side, eyes once again hungry and watchful of the way he moved. loving that he would turn to you before taking a shot and sinking it, starting to believe you actually might be his lucky charm.

last solo cup and it was chad’s turn. his friends chanted his name over and over, james gave some friendly shakes to his shoulders before stepping back. you kept a watchful eye on chad, not caring about the outcome of the game. chad’s head turned and he flashed a cocky smile, your skin felt on fire.

“ready for your prize, y/n?”

and without another word flung the ball and in a sweeping arch splashed it into the warm beer cup. chad’s side yelled in victory while the others sulked before getting more drinks.

chad held out a hand and without hesitation, you dropped yours into his and he pulled you away. he dragged you through the kitchen and out the back where not many people lounged, but didn’t stop until you were leaning against the side of the house. 

“i see you have dirty intentions, mr. meek-martin.” voice a low purr as you curled a fist into the front of his tee.

another of chad’s deep chuckles, “only with you, my lucky charm.”

his large hands held your face as he pulled you closer until your lips met. just a minute of feeling the touch of each other and mentally pumping your fist before chad started to take the lead and move his lips. it was teasingly slow and you quietly whined at the rhythm while chad just smiled into the kiss.

“needy?”

“very.”
