Tribe Called Quest booms in the background of the partial checkin desk, partial service counter. There are wood fire pizzas going through the oven and Foosball played on the floor. Nico, from Italy, is the head chef and one of the best Climbers. Not too shabby. . But the Grades are real. The walla, though small, are covered in blood, sweat and chalk. I was quiet curious about the idea of beer and pizza in a bouldering gym, but I see the older Climbers hit V5s as if it were a mid day stroll and say nothing. . The bodies look exactly the same be it ingesting a banana with peanut butter or a double pepperoni pizza with two pints of pilsner. . The people are chill. The Red Goat, born from a husband and wife team decided in their decade of experience that Climbers never leave their gyms, so why not put the pub next to their chalk bag. . It's my first visit, so I'm drinking, getting the lay of land. I watch technique and down a pint of the house ale, intrigued by the premise. I learn for senior Climbers ND ask questions. . And eat pizza. Red Goat is lovely. I can't wait to come back with my gear.
