Into the Blind free rules available now!
Tumblr media
Into the Blind is a sci-fi roleplaying game for 3-5 people, inspired by media such as The Expanse, Gravity, Arrival and Annihilation, and TTRPGs like Trophy, Mothership and Alien: The Roleplaying Game.
You are Salvager, Courier, Bodyguard, First Responder, Investigator, Debt Collector; whatever you need to be to make ends meet. You will be eaten by the machine the Company owns and operates, or you’ll die trying to escape it. You are subject to the inexorable forces of the universe. You are a mass moving through a vast field of factors and probabilities. You are a ship alone at sea, and the stories of sailors are the strangest and saddest.
You are a Freelancer. If the debt doesn't get you, the darkness will.
Tumblr media
So psyched to put this out and talk more about it in the future. The full version will be coming later, but the basic rules to the game will always be free - everything you need to create a crew of Freelancers and run a session, so grab your sci fi adventure pamphlets and get busy dying in space.
Itch is a little weird about mixing paid content and free content, but visit the itch page and scroll to the bottom, the Free Rules are under the Download Demo header:

A.N.I.M. TTRPG Book Club Showcase #2: Mothership
As some of you may know—and if you don’t, here is a post about it—A.N.I.M. runs a TTRPG book club where the whole club votes on, read, and play indie and indie-ish TTRPGs, then discuss them like a book club, with the ultimate goal of exposing people to new games and supporting smaller TTRPG developers. After each game, we do a “showcase” where quotes are compiled and posted for posterity along with a link to the game’s store page or wherever else you’re supposed to get it. Here is what the book club had to say about the second RPG to win a vote: Mothership by Tuesday Knight Games! Mothership was a game I had been looking forward to playing for a long time and I'm very glad to have gotten to play a one-shot with it. Mothership is for-sure an "OSR" game--relatively short rulebook, just enough rules and mechanics to get you by for exactly the genre it is supposed to emulate, fast and easy character creation, and a high chance for careless player-characters to die badly. If you like the Aliens franchise, you'll love Mothership.
Here is what the TTRPG Book Club generally had to say about Mothership by Tuesday Knight Games:
Tumblr media
You can pick up a copy of Mothership here.
And hey, if you're a creator who wants to get their game out there in front of people, join our book club and nominate it!
Playing Mothership here led directly to 9 sales!
If you’re an independant TTRPG developer, come hop in, you can nominate your own game, and having a creator in the discussion is always a plus! Reminder, you can join the discord server from the invite link on our website or right here.
Just a reminder also that A.N.I.M.'s own first big project, Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy is launching on Kickstarter in April 2024!
Here is a preview of the Kickstarter page!
If you would like to pick up a prerelease copy of Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy along with three adventure modules, two short stories, and a novella, head over to our Patreon page!
If you want to try it before you decide to spend any money, head to our website to download the free demo of Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy!

7. Star Spice - The Lighthouse at the Edge of the Universe
Keeper: 2035
Date: Viridian 31, year 120572
Temperature: 21℃
Weather: warm and bright
The nights are growing shorter here, and the weather is warming up, so it seemed like a good time to relax and prioritize self-care, since there are no pressing tasks to get to.
I was going to fix myself a nice dinner and finally use some of my rarest spices; unfortunately, as I reached for them on the top shelf, I accidentally knocked it over - the shelf fell on the floor, causing some of the glass containers to shatter and scatter the spices everywhere.
I decided to fix that mess immediately. Strangely enough, I felt relieved and energized at the thought of having something to do; I was really trying to enjoy the slow day, but, truth be told, I was starting to feel restless.
A few drops of the algae jelly glue, plus the old-fashioned hammer and nails were all I needed to repair the shelf.
However, as I swept the the floor and gathered the fallen spices, they started to hum loudly and move of their own accord towards the front door of the Lighthouse.
I opened the door and followed the spices until they arrived at the very edge of this rock I live on.
I watched them as they floated away into the night sky, gradually becoming indistinguishable from the trails of stardust.
I thought about the spices that got mixed together; they ranged from the incredibly rare star anise, only found on a faraway blue planet which used to be inhabited, to the uncommon rocky spores, found on any myconal meteorite.
Something in that mixture must have caused those spices to, somehow, remember at a molecular level that they are made of stars after all, and they should be out there travelling through the cosmos, rather than add flavour to my dinner.
I can't argue with that.
I have to admit I'd happily follow them in their journey across the universe; but, at least for tonight, I'm content to just stare into the depths of the night sky.

Take a trip to the Museum of Mesmeric Art!
The Museum of Mesmeric Art is a Fill-In-The-Voids dungeon for Liminal Horror by The Goblin Archives. It comes as a set of 5 novelty postcards, similar to what you'd find in a gift shop, with pieces of a map on the back of each card.
Solve the puzzle to see the map and fill in the blanks on each piece to reveal the true nature of the things you'll encounter within!

A ghostly pixel ghost, part of the art assets for FORIVA: The Angel Game whipped up by @ashweather. Is this an enemy? A friend? A clue? You'll have to back our kickstarter at the $32 tier or higher to get the adventure module "FORIVA: The Angle Game" and find out!
Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy is a neo-noir investigation-focused RPG with (as you can probably guess from the title) a supernatural twist. Eureka fills several voids we have noticed in the TTRPG space. Eureka supports investigation to a degree we haven’t seen before, ensuring that searching for clues is a granular and player-driven process, but also ensuring that the whole story doesn’t grind to a halt after one single failed investigation check.
Though most PCs will be mundane humans—or perhaps because most PCs will be mundane humans—Eureka also supports playing monstrous PCs, such as a vampire, in a way we have never seen before. This isn’t just a watered-down stat bonus, it’s like playing an almost entirely different game, with all the monster’s strengths and weaknesses to account for while solving the mystery, plus the added incentive to keep it a secret from the other PCs as well as their players.
If you like or are interested in Call of Cthulhu, Monster of the Week, Dresden Files, X-Files, Kolchak: The Night Stalker, Apocalypse Keys, or Gumshoe, you’ll probably find something in Eureka to really enjoy.
Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy is kickstarting from right now until May 10th! Back it while you still can!

If you want to try before you buy, you can download a free demo of the prerelease version from our website or our itch.io page!
If you’re interested in a more updated and improved version of Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy than the free demo you got from our website, subscribe to our Patreon where we frequently roll our new updates for the prerelease version!
You can also support us on Ko-fi, or by checking out our merchandise!
Join our TTRPG Book Club At the time of writng this, Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy is the current game being played in the book club, and anyone who wants to participate in discussion, but can’t afford to make a contribution, will be given the most updated prerelease version for free! Plus it’s just a great place to discuss and play new TTRPGs you might not be able to otherwise!
We hope to see you there, and that you will help our dreams come true and launch our careers as indie TTRPG developers with a bang by getting us to our base goal and blowing those stretch goals out of the water, and fight back against WotC's monopoly on the entire hobby. Wish us luck.

1. Proving Myself - The Lighthouse at the Edge of the Universe
Keeper: 1035
Date: 1st of Cosmovember, year 9401
Temperature: -10℃
Weather: Cold but invigorating
Observations: Meteor shower
The light kept flickering.
The most crucial, mission-critical part of the building showed signs of malfunctioning; despite my exhaustion, I couldn't delay addressing it.
I was technically prepared for this situation, yet I found myself dreading the task and second-guessing myself as I prepared to take action. I knew that before attempting anything productive, I needed to make some tea.
Simply going through the motions of filling the kettle, listening to the soothing sound of boiling water, and pouring it into my mug calmed me enough.
As expected, once I started looking for the issue, it became apparent that I had dreaded the task for no good reason. It was a simple fix, just a few fuses in need of a replacement - luckily, I kept an ample supply of spare parts on hand. Heh.
Now I'm glad I had the chance to prove myself today, or rather, prove *to* myself that I'm capable enough. I can handle this position; I earned my place here.
With a feeling of accomplishment, I sat down and marvelled at the meteor shower, cradling my second steaming cup of tea in my hands, a plaid blanket wrapped around me.
My goodness, what a breathtakingly chaotic and beautiful universe we inhabit. I'm grateful for the opportunity to experience it all.
I can only hope to bask in this bliss for all eternity.
