Greatly impairing insectophobia/entomophobia flag, for those whose fear of bugs/insects greatly interferes with and reduces their quality of life
Tumblr media
[ID: A flag with five equal horizontal stripes. In descending order, the stripes are bright green, leaf green, pond green, dark green, and brick red. End ID.]
I'm really glad it is getting colder outside because it is really difficult for me to go out during the warmer seasons.

I'm scared of most arthropods, but for some reason I'm perfectly fine with spiders.
To be fair, there aren't any deadly venomous spiders in my part of the world, the worst you'd get is a nasty swelling of the affected skin.

My Mother's Recent Reason To Call Me Evil
Um.... I kinda go on a rant like a 5 year old beneath the cut.... so.... yeah.... Also, if you do read this, I wouldn't be surprised if you get upset.... I'm kind of an asshole....
To preface this post, I have a phobia of bugs.
Insectophobia. (that might be misspelled) (idk the other word, but there's another one for it)
So, anyway, I went to see my parents again (cause I still do that for some reason)
And it's nearly summer, yeah?
It's spring now.
And junebugs are fucking everywhere.
And one got inside.
And I freaked out.
But my parents said I should deal with it to help my fear. (It just makes it worse dad, why do you always make me do this?)
And so I did.
I sprayed it with window cleaner until it couldn't fly.
It fell into the sink.
So I closed the drain and filled the sink with water.
I left it there for ten minutes, then I came back, drained the sink, grabbed the junebug through about 10 sheets of paper towels, and flushed it down the toilet. (the bug, not the paper towels.)
And guess what?
My mom fucking yelled at me.
Said I was torturing the bug.
And it's not like I was doing it intentionally!
It came into their house, therefore it came into enemy territory.
Not my problem.
One less junebug to worry about for me.
(If I could kill off all the bugs in this damn world (reprocussions be damned), but I had to make it the most painful way to do it ever, I'd do it no hesitation. I fucking hate bugs.)

So, um, somebody offloaded three Madagascar Hissing Roaches onto me and I don't know what to do with them because we're not supposed to keep pets in the dorm but now it's too late because they're cute and I'm attached?
On an unrelated note I'd like you all to meet my new roommate. Her name is Betty B. Buggs.

Ayo so I wanna talk about a game I've been playing recently! It's a lovely thing called Rain World, where you play as a cute little slug-cat hybrid thingy in the ruins of a post-apocalyptic world where virtually everything can - and most likely will - chomp you up in an instant :)
This game is genuinely so fun but at the same time it triggers my insectophobia so terribly
Some of the mostly harmless creatures, like Noodle Flies, still look like absolutely terrifying nightmare creatures and it deeply hurts me
There's an area of the game called the Shaded Citadel, which is this place in complete darkness filled with spiders and little mice that glow and it's genuinely the most stressful segment of the game so far, I cannot play it for more than like 20 minutes at a time
Does anyone have any tips for dealing with insectophobia btw? Because I can barely cope with it irl much less in video games lmao

An Insect-Based Confession
I used to torture insects when I was younger because I believed they didn't feel pain and that they deserved it because they looked creepy. Only ones I didn't touch were spiders and cockroaches because I am scared of them and also moths because I think they're neat so I decided to let moths live peacefully. I also hate ladybugs and butterflies even though most other people I know like them and think they are cute for some reason although I don't understand why. So, basically, ladybugs and butterflies were common targets of mine. I also enjoyed ruining the entrances to ant colonies in my backyard and at my neighborhood's park.
