another one of my little pedantic pet peeves is people thinking regency = historical, rather than a specific historical era, and calling literally anything regency even if it's like a solid 100 years later

#is this bc of bridgerton? #did people learn the word regency bc of bridgerton and assume it's a synonym for 'period drama' instead of the specific period its set #regency is a very specific period of time in the early 1800s. it is definitely not the movie titanic #I'M JUST VERY BOTHERED BY FACTUAL INACCURACY #and by the social etiquette that says you are Not Allowed to tell people when they have said something factually inaccurate #so you just have to sit. and vibrate. with all the Inaccuracies of the world.
