1108: Facts and observations

1108 started on the 8th of November of 2015.
Jimin uploaded a video of him and Jungkook to twitter:
On the 26th of January 2016, Jk uploaded a small snippet of a song he was covering.
•Day 100
And on the 15th of February of 2016, Jk uploaded the entire song Nothing Like Us and noted to listen to the lyrics as they were expressing what he wanted to say:
In Korean culture, parents celebrate 100 days after a child is born. This is to indicate that the child made it through the first vulnerable phase in their life. In the same manner, the 100 days are celebrated by Korean couples.
And this is what Jk had to say 100 days after the 8th of November of 2015:

On Oct. 28, 2017, Jungkook treated Jimin to a trip to Tokyo. It was because of this trip, that Jungkook released gcfTokyo on Nov. 08, 2017.

A fan used the images in the video and was able to determine the hotel and room jikook stayed at. It was room number 1108.

On the 26th of January 2018, in a Japanese fancafe, Jimin gifted Jungkook a drawing of a set of champagne glasses and a bottle. Note the details of the glasses.

On the 25th of April 2018, a day before the 900 day milestone, Jimin had a vlive where it was obvious he wasn't alone in the room. He kept looking to the side, laughing shyly and explained:

On August 3rd 2018, Jk posted a selfie while they were all filming BV3:
During BV3, jikook were able to look around the city alone, and have a boat date under the moonlight.

As you all may know 10:13 is also known as Jimin ssi, or Jimin time. It only makes sense that this day would be special to jikook too.
On the 16th of August 2018, Jimin tweeted a series of 3 tweets:
Jungkook was the only member that appeared in the photos with Jimin. It is also interesting to note the 2 butterfly temporary tattoos he had on his hand.

The next day, Jimin uploaded a tweet with the caption "Love Ya", and one of the photos was him and Jk.

On the 22nd of December 2018, when fans uploaded their selfies on fancafe, the fans let Jk know that Jimin had uploaded his own:
This prompted Jk to type "JIMINNNN" and he signed off. He later uploaded a song that he stopped at 1:18:

On Feb 22, 2022, Jk uploaded a story on insta where he is in a car, listening to So Good by Joan. The story was labeled 23:08 even though he uploaded it at 1:24 am.

On March 10, 2022, during the Permission to Dance Concert, Jimin used the 2315 numbers and stated the following:

On the 26th of October 2022, Jk uploaded a photo of himself while he was in Qatar. He uploaded the photo at 11:08 Korea time and, 5:08 Qatar time.

On the 2nd of February 2023, Jimin answered a question on weverse at exactly 23:08. The question is now deleted.

During Jungkook hosted a series of lives on White Day, 14th of March 2022. His first live was started at 8:11 pm:
During these lives, Jk changed to various outfits and had an extensive playlist. One of the songs that was included was There For You.
•Day 2855
On the 1st of September 2023, Jk hosted a short live to thank the fans for being present with him during so many birthdays. He ended his live quickly and it lasted 8:56 minutes:
My impressions
Based on Korean customs, celebrating different day milestones is typical in a Korean couple.
While some may think that jikook started dating on the 8th of November 2015, I think that's when they decided to be intimate with each other.
I feel like a jikook kiss had already happened since the last time Jimin asked Jk for a kiss publicly was in September 2015 for Jk's birthday. From there, one can only think that things proceeded quite quickly.
I think that in recent years, we have observed less mentions of 1108 because of BTS' popularity and so many fans expecting something from jikook.
It's possible that jikook has decided to not make these milestones known like they did before, but every now and then, they still reference that number. Who knows when they will do it again.
But who is counting, right?

Anon Project Round 2
Some of you may remember back in winter 2017-2018, when I did this thing to spread some love through the anon ask option we've got here on tumblr. Well, I did the same thing again, back in winter 2020-2021, though instead of just one month, I did it for two months. From the 1st of December 2020, until the 31st of January 2021.
Every day, I sent the message "Hi. I love you. 🤍" to one blog each day. I wanted them to know they're loved.
Now, I know tumblr sometimes eats asks, so maybe not everyone that I planned to give love to actually got their messages, and this roundup will therefore serve as a reminder to all of you that yes, I do love you. Even now, 2.5 years later.

Gorilla Babies Wrestle, Sister Defends Brother by SloggerVlogger
Gorilla Babies Juni and Hasani have a wrestling match, that's until Ayana comes running and defends her brother Juni, but watch closely as an adult hand appears and she gets pushed away. I think it's Kera, Hasani's Surrogate Mum. Hasani is the one that sits by the door frame.
This video was filmed in January 2021.
If you've been following the gorillas you might know that they are still in the closed Bristol Zoo. They are getting a new enclose built in 2024 and that's when they will be moved to the new Bristol Zoo just outside the city centre. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to visit another gorilla troop as I concentrated on Twycross Zoo with Gorilla Lope leaving this year.

The first Gorilla arrived at Bristol Zoo on 8th September 1930 named Alfred. The Zoo itself opened on July 11th 1836! The first gorilla birth was on March 6th 1971.
Currently, there are 8 gorillas at the Bristol Zoo.
Starting off with Jock the Silverback. He was born on May 31st 1983 at Zoo La Palmyre. He got moved to the Bristol Zoo on the 25.June 2003. His offspring are Namoki, Komale, Kukena, Afia, Ayana, Hasani and Juni.
Kera was born on August 26th 2004 at the Parc Zoológic de Barcelona. She moved to the Bristol Zoo on the 08.September.2008. Her offspring is Afia.
Afia was born by emergency cesarean section at Bristol Zoo on the 12th of February 2016 after her mother, Kera, showed symptoms of potentially life-threatening pre-eclampsia. She had to be hand-raised. Gorilla Romina took an interest in Afia when the keepers walked past her with Afia in their arms. So Afia was slowly introduced to Romina and in October started bonding with her surrogate mother. Kera did recover after being ill for a while but didn't recognize Afia as her daughter. Romina took over to raise her, but sadly they had to put her to sleep in Aug 2018 because she had an advanced large cancerous mass in her abdomen. Afia by then was part of the group and Dad Jock and the other females looked after her.
Touni was born on the 12th of December 2007 at the La Vallée des Singes and moved to the Bristol Zoo on the 28.September 2015. Her daughter is Ayana who was born on the 22nd of April 2017.
On 22 December 2020, Touni gave birth to the second baby gorilla for Bristol Zoo that year during covid lockdown and he has named a combination of his Mother’s and Father's name, Juni.
Kala was born on the 11th of December 2010 in Hannover. She's the newest member of the group as she joined on the 16.October 2018. She was pregnant in Sep 2019 but sadly lost the baby. The cause of death is unknown. On August 19th 2020 Kala gave birth to baby Hasani. Unfortunately, she couldn’t feed him properly and is being hand-raised by Bristol Zoo staff members. In May 2021 Kera showed interest in Hasani and became the new surrogate mother of the little boy.
The Bristol Zoo has closed its doors for good. As an inner-city zoo, it didn't have a place to expand. That's why they are relocating some of the animals like this gorilla family to the outside of Bristol to a place called Wildlife Place Project, now Bristol Zoo Project.
They stated that they are going to start building in 2024. So it will still be a while until they have moved.

20 - 21 June 1998 - A weekend in Salzburg - crazy pretzels and sliding down in the Berchtesgaden underground salt mine

Hi everyone
Today and tomorrow, twenty years ago, I was in Salzburg, in kangaroo-less Austria, and the Berchtesgadener Land in southeasternmost Germany. Because I would not be paid until a week or so later, I had to spend a night in a hostel and eat cheap. I found a good hostel just southeast of downtown Salzburg, called the Eduard Heinrich Haus. I reserved my room by phone, on Friday on a payphone. (Payphones in 2018 are hard to find anymore)
Originally I was not supposed to go to Salzburg the weekend of the 20th/21st June, but rather on the 19th my work colleagues were supposed to go mountain climbing (actually hiking which could as well be climbing!) south of Holzkirchen. That was postponed until the 26th because of the weather forecast for the 19th – in the mountains of Bavaria, the weather can change unexpectedly, and it is hard to find shelter, so we made the safe decision to wait until the 26th.
From Munich to Salzburg, the Schönes Wochenende ticket that cost 35 DM, was valid all weekend on the slow trains. I took the Regional Express from Munich Ostbahnhof via Rosenheim and Freilassing. The train was not air conditioned, as were many Regional Express trains at the time, so it was an annoyance to some passengers, to slide the window down when going over 50 mph, particularly between Munich Ost and Rosenheim. I think I arrived around 10:30 AM in Salzburg Hbf. As I noted from 7th June 1998, there was no longer any formal customs between Germany and Austria as a result of the Schengen Agreement, so the station customs at Salzburg Hbf I remembered in operation in June 1997, for 1998 it was completely unmanned. It was still standing in December 2001/August 2002, and I think also in August 2004 when I returned for a day visit, but sometime in 2005, it was demolished to make room for more train platforms and was complete around February 2012.
I went to the ticket hall, and then bought a day pass for the Salzburg Verkehrsbetriebe for the city and also for the zones including Lamprechtshausen and also Trimmelkam, as I was curious about riding the Lokalbahn, which is now the S-1 line. In today's money it would be EUR 13.60, now 190 Schilling if today's exchange rate of ATS 13.9 = EUR 1.00 were to be used, but it was cheaper 20 years ago. It was a good ride up to Lamprechtshausen. I bought myself a big bottle of Almdudler (it is herbal and tastes like fizzy iced tea) at the Billa grocery store, of which I posted a photo of it while waiting for a bus in Wildshut. From Lamprechtshausen I took the "shuttle line" to Bürmoos in Oberösterreich. There was not much to see or do, and I was not quite thirsty enough to drink any of the Almdudler while waiting for the train to return to Bürmoos and on to Salzburg, so somehow I walked to Wildshut. I think I took an hour to get there. It was sunny and I think about the 90s. I caught the bus that went on to Oberndorf where the S-1 would take me back to Salzburg. I was starting to get a headache so I drank some of the Almdudler but it was not much use. I went back to Hbf to fetch my clothes bag and headed for the hostel. I had to take trolley bus 51 and exit at Egger-Lienz-Straße and walk a half mile towards the Salzach bank more or less. My bed in the room was ready, and I took a nap for about two hours, and listened to the former "Blue Danube Radio" station. The station is now part of the independent channel FM4. I remember a story about the Empress Sisi mentioned on the broadcast.
I could not stay at the hostel for so long, as I did not come to Salzburg just to sleep all day. I had to go back to the Altstadt to see what was going on. As the 1998 FIFA World Cup was still in group stage, there were two matches. One was Belgium vs Mexico, and the other was Netherlands vs South Korea. I did not have any internet at the time, even a "smart phone", so back in 1998, there would be internet set up and probably 50 people or so would wait in line, waiting 15 to 20 minutes to get a turn. I think I waited a whole hour. Grumpy-Old-Man would say "That's the way it was, and we *liked* it!" Now everyone can just skip that and use their smartphone. I thought of going up to the top of the castle but I decided it was getting too late for that. I think I had a "Käsekreiner" and can of Stiegl beer for dinner, took a bus to the Parsch district, I guess for sentimental reasons, and when it was dark, I went back to the hostel. Back then I did not know that the Sacher Hotel was across the Salzach from the Altstadt, until I saw an ad sometime in July 1998. It was out of my price range at the time anyway.
Sunday morning the 21st was as sunny as Saturday. That was the day I was going to go to the Schloß Salzburg by cable car. I had breakfast at the hostel, washed up, checked out, then took bus 51 to Salzburg Hbf to leave my clothes bag. I went to the castle by cable car. At the top, there was a very good panoramic view, not just of the , but also towards Maxglan, Hallein and even a little bit of Tirol. And also the Berchtesgadener Land which I would visit later that day. After I took the cable car down, I walked around and found a pretzel seller. They had so many kinds of soft pretzels that I chose three, all of them about 10 inches wide. One with ham and cheese, one with just salt, and the other split and filled with chocolate. I took them along and then after taking the bus to Maxglan, I ate the ham and cheese pretzel, maybe one more. By that time I think I had seen enough of Salzburg. I was not much of a fan of Sound of Music so I did not go on that tour. It was time to leave Austria and then return to Germany.
I boarded, I think 1:30 PM, the train at Salzburg Hbf, for Berchtesgaden via Freilassing. It arrived in Berchtesgaden, the end of the line, at 3 PM. I thought of going to Kehlsteinhaus / Eagles Nest (would do that on 19th July 1998), but I settled on the Salzbergwerke, the salt mine. It is basically a 10 minute train ride inside the mountain, a walk through the tunnels, sliding down and also a boat ride through the salt pool. Everyone is required to wear a rented salt mine overall (somewhere I have a selfie!) and stay with the guide at all times. In comparison to the upper 80s temperatures, the inside of the mountain was about the low 50s. It is constant year round, as I would find out later, namely in February 2012 when I visited another salt mine in Bad Dürrnberg near Hallein. Coming out of the salt mine was not so fun, after it being so cool inside. Oh no it's so hot! The walk back to the rail station was not pleasant but I had a surprise going back to Munich. The train that arrived in Berchtesgaden as an Intercity train, was returning to Munich as a Regional Express, it was air conditioned and my Schönes Wochenend Ticket was also valid at no extra charge. What was the catch? It had to make its scheduled stops. But I did not mind.
I think I arrived at München Hbf about 8:30 or 9 PM, went to work the next day. The weather forecast for Friday 26 June would be mostly sunny, for my colleagues, excellent weather for mountain climbing. I will tell about that sometime next week, what that all entailed. No one got hurt (badly), everyone survived. And I even had a chance to see a pre-production BMW Z3-based E36 series coupe - probably the coolest car I saw all that year.
Well, have a nice rest of the week, everyone. There were no "foreign" journeys - in relation to Germany - expected until Friday 10th July 1998.

How long did you have to wait for your referral to go through to the GIC? I’ve been on a waiting list since 2020 and heard nothing back.
So my timeline in essence has been like. A little chaotic, I have adhd and was in a pandemic so i dont have the greatest grasp on how time passes, and obviously people not in central Scotland may experience things very differently but.
February 2018 - Self referral to Sandyford clinic in Glasgow pretty much the instant I was 18 and financially independent
2018-2020 - got thoroughly ignored by Sandyford
~April 2020 - got made redundant due to The Covid, my bosses tried to fuck me over by not paying severance but someone else at the company pointed out that meant they owed me over a grand in back holiday pay. Immediately had a lockdown breakdown and spent all of that going private, rendering myself Very Skint
July 2020 - first appointment with private clinic YourGP in Edinburgh, got my first letter of diagnosis here. Costs ~£350 per appointment iirc and you need three appointments before you can start T or anything
July - December 2020 - those happened. Two diagnostic appointments, one of which was a therapist/psych screening, and a prescription appointment during which they lost the psych letter and had to delay prescribing. Medical Competence :)
December 4th 2020 - started half dose (1 pump daily) testogel. I went for gel because it was the cheapest option (~£35/bottle plus £20 prescription fee, I'd pick up two bottles at a time so it was ~£90 every couple months) and because I could self administer it, because. It was 2020 and every nurse in the world was so fucking busy. However my plan was to switch to sustanon when I was able to access a GP more reliably
~ March 2021 - started full dose testogel (2 pumps daily). This was also roughly when Sandyford finally picked me up so I no longer had to pay my prescription fee. Legally changed my name
October 2021 - asked Sandyford to change me from testogel to sustanon, and to refer me to the Chalmers clinic in Edinburgh as I'd moved back to Edinburgh now
EVERY SINGLE WEEK between December 2021 and April 2022 - emailed Sandyford saying "Hiya! Neither myself nor my GP have yet received the prescription and referral I was due to receive last October. Can you please confirm you are sending us this information? Thank you for your help!". Got ignored every single time until ~April 12th ish when they finally called my GP
April 22nd 2022 - finally started sustanon, 1ml every 3 weeks. Was given a list of potential top surgery providers to look into
July 26th 2022 - first appointment with Chalmers. Reviewed 3 months bloods - my T levels are slightly low but it could be due to not being bang on the 3 months mark, so we're gonna wait another 3 months to see if this evens out or if I would do better on nebido. Wrote up surgery referral letter and I just need to call and confirm with my final decision on which surgery team I want
July 27th 2022 - I have been on hold for forty six minutes with increasing fits of nervous laughter at the fact the main top surgery team people in Scotland get referred to is. Man Chester.
From here - it'll probably be about 2 years till my surgery at this point given wait times

8. Oldest WIP
Chapter 11 of Island Escapade, ‘Harleys in Hawaii’
Dated December 26th, 2021. I was meant to finish that ages ago, but I wanted to edit the previous chapters to be more up to par with my current abilities. Also to have more flashbacks, darker themes, a greater risk and reward, if you will.
If we’re talking about the first chapter of an ongoing series, the first ever chapter of Island Escapade was posted on April 18th, 2018. I know, right. Goddamn.
13. Describe your writing process from idea to polished
Oh, this is a good one. I’ve always wanted to answer something like this! Let’s start with one shots.
I work off the specific pairing and synopsis of a request. If there’s a basic plot they want me to follow, I just go, how would this make sense practically?
I’ll write those events chronologically and plan as I go. I never know what happens next until I get to it. That’s mostly because dialogue and characterization can be flexible, and I won’t know how ‘right’ the plot seems until it’s on the page. It works out in the end because the story is dependent on logic just as much as it is on the characters, which come first.
An ages-old vampire, a human man and woman. That would have to take place in Romania. Why is the couple in Romania? For fun, of course. The vampire wants to break up their relationship. Why would he do that? Probably because they lived long enough to have been with the woman in a past life. How would count drac sabotage her love life? Hypnosis on her boyfriend to make him seem unfaithful.
The same goes for sequels, trilogies, and series. I’m just continuing where I left off and everything is significantly longer. Also, the characterization and plot points have bigger consequences (!)
But the longer the story, the less planning I do. I just start with a situation and let it escalate in all manners it could escalate. Say, a starting pro-boxer wants to make it big and settle somewhere with his girlfriend. She’s tied down by her family—a brother who’s fresh out of prison, a sister who’s a single mother.
The brother is prejudiced towards men. The boxer looks like an archetypal frat boy. Let it rip.
30. Favorite idea you haven’t started on yet
Say no more. A Drive (2011) crossover. Yes, it’s another Ryan Gosling movie but hear me out.
Alfred as a getaway driver and Hollywood stunt driver. Allen as another baby daddy stuck in prison. You become friends with your neighbor, Alfred, who helps you out every now and then. Once your husband gets out, he’s forced to do a robbery to repay being protected behind bars. Alfred joins in on the gig, especially when you and your son could get targeted next. Turns out the money belongs to the East Coast mob and shit goes sideways.
If we’re talking about a specific plot idea, I’ll have to say a fight to the death between Alfred and his clone. One with hard-hitting dialogue and heavy violence. If you’ve read WMMH, you’ll know what I’m getting at.

January 10th: The United Nations Meet
Post World War 2, it became known that there needed to be some kind of security to keep those atrocities from happening again. Thus, on January 10th 1946, the First General Assembly of the United Nations was held in London.
But many do not know what the structure of the United Nations is and what in total the group does. Firstly, looking at the Charter of the United Nations from June 26th 1945, the first part reads:
”We the peoples of the United Nations determined to save succeeding generations from the scourge of war, which twice in our lifetime has brought untold sorrow to mankind, and to reaffirm faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person, in the equal rights of men and women and of nations large and small, and to establish conditions under which justice and respect for the obligations arising from treaties and other sources of international law can be maintained, and to promote social progress and better standards of life in larger freedom, and for these ends to practice tolerance and live together in peace with one another as good neighbors, and to unite our strength to maintain international peace and security, and to ensure by the acceptance of principles and the institution of methods, that armed force shall not be used, save in the common interest, and to employ international machinery for the promotion of the economic and social advancement of all peoples, have resolved to combine our efforts to accomplish these aims.”
In plain language, They wanted to make sure everyone is safe, countries and their leaders are held accountable for their actions, and that information and socio-economic wealth is assured for all.
To keep things as fair as possible, there was a president of the assembly, 7 vice presidents, and then the committees. Today, with the growth from 51 Nations to 193, there are now 21 vice presidents. There are 6 committees in total, which has not changed over the years. The committees are:
First committee is in charge of disarmament and International Security
Second committee is in charge of economic and financial issues
Third committee is in charge of Social, humanitarian, and cultural issues
Fourth Committee is in charge of Special Political and Decolonization issues
Fifth Committee is in charge of Administrative and Budgetary issues
Sixth Committee is in charge of legal issues
The charter goes into depth about how disputes need to be met with intervention by the security council, how collective security will take place, and trying to keep the peace among the world. International armed forces do exist and were first used in 1948 to observe cease fires in Kashmir and Palestine.
Looking into this closer, they actually are the source of a lot of humanitarian aid, as well as the reason many things have stopped or started in the stance of making sure the world stays safe. 5 Nights at Freddy's
Five Nights at Freddy's (also shortened as Five Nights, in addition to abbreviated as FNaF) is an independent survival horror franchise produced by Scott Cawthon that first began as a video sport released on Wed; 8th of July, 2014. The business has since obtained worldwide popularity.
The particular franchise currently consists of an entire of 17 video clip games (10 major games, 3 spin-offs, and 4 kobold games), a total of 31 books (3 novel books, 12-15 anthology books, four graphic novels, your five guidebooks, 2 action books, and 2 coloring books), just as well as typically the horror attraction, Snapchat lenses, the approaching movie, and a great ongoing batch involving merchandise.

A VR game entitled 5 Nights at Freddy's VR: Help Wished became available about May 28th, 2019. The game attributes 40 mini-games based upon previous installments together with some never prior to seen content. A new Halloween themed DLC called Curse involving Dreadbear was released on October 23rd, 2019. The AR game entitled Five Nights at Freddy's AR: Special Shipping and delivery was released in November 25th, 2019. The game provides been receiving regular monthly delivery events given that launch. My Transition Story
Hi, my name is Tyler, I'm a transmute and I'd like to write about my transition story, I'll get into how and when I knew that I was who I am later on in another post. Keep smiling and follow me if you like.
It was in December of 2018 when I had gone to my family Dr and asked him on how to go about getting a Sex Change because I did not feel comfortable at all being in the body that I was born in, I knew that that was not me, before 2018, I tried to commit suicide 4 or 5 times. In 2018, my Dr sent in the referral to CAMH out in Toronto, Ontario and I started seeing my Psychologist on January 11th, 2019, her name was Dr. Leah Keeting, with the Adult Gender Identity Clinic. Leah was alone, beautiful and understanding, I felt like I had known her for awhile but, yet, I had just met the woman. I was seeing Leah for 2 years going through the psychological aspect of it all, damn that was a pain in the ass but, you have to do what needs to be done, you have to go through the steps before anything can happen. It doesn't happen over night.
In 2021, I was finally approved to go on testosterone and that was a waiting game in itself, again, a pain in the ass... royally. I was referred to my Endocrinologist, Dr. Raymond Fung out in Toronto and got on Testestorone injections on April 19th, 2021, I was nervous for the first needle, and it took awhile before any changes but, believe me, it is definitely worth the wait and seeing the changes happen as they go. I take my testosterone injections every week on a Friday, have been now for the last 2 years.
I legally applied to have my name changed in 2021 as well, which became legal on April 26th, 2021... now that, was a severe pain in the ass as well, nothing comes easy. I sent the name change application back 5 times because they kept mailing it back to me saying that I was missing some documents that needed to go with it, I was definitely missing something alright, I kept forgetting that I needed to have a Criminal Record check down and at the time, I was a licensed Security Guard with a Clean Record, I thought that the Government would've known that first hand because I had an Ontario Security License but, then I realized damn, it is a different Government because Ontario is Provincial, whereas I had to send it to the Federal Government... oops, that was my fuck up there, haha. When my name change became legal and I got my name change certificate in the mail, the very next day, I went to have all my ID switched over into my now legal name, standing in a lineup at Service Ontario was not the highlight of my day, it was when it was all said and done because now I can be the man that I'm meant to be, be my authentic self.
In July of 2021, I had applied and filled out a bunch of paperwork for top surgery that was going to be at GRS Montreal, they are the hospital that have been doing it the longest and the ones who were a hell of a lot more experienced with the Gender changes. On January 12th, 2022 I had finally had top surgery to get to, so we left on the 11Th of January to be there for my surgery in the morning. I'm not going to lie but, the day of surgery, I was scared shitless, I couldn't sit still and annoying my older brother Jayden who had been sitting behind the wheel, driving and laughing at me. My brother was laughing because he is also a transmute like I am and I reminded him of himself when he was going up for the surgery, cause he was freaking the hell out too. My surgeon was a woman and she definitely knew what she was doing, I trust the woman with my life. My surgeon was amazing, kind and beautiful on the inside and out.
When I woke up in recovery after the procedure I didn't feel any pain at all, surprisingly, I actually had to look to see if they were gone. They said that the first 24 hours I'd be feeling a shitload of pain but, I didn't feel a damn thing to be real, I had no pain but, the drain tubes were not hurting, they were just really annoying because they would pinch my skin. The drain tubes were the most irritating and annoying part of it all, they liked to bite once in awhile. A week after surgery, I was back to doing TikTok videos again, and 3 weeks after, wanted to go back to work but, wasn't allowed to lift anything over 10 pounds, and I worked at General Motors in Oshawa. My Surgeons letter stated that I couldn't go back to work for 6 weeks but, my family Dr cleared me to go back after 3 weeks, I was ready but, unfortunately, work took the Surgeons letter over my family Drs letter and still kept me off for 6 weeks, damn it, I was going insane, I hate being off work, it annoys the hell out of me. A week and a half after surgery one of my drain tubes came out on it's own, my incision was doing great and it was healing quite fast, my body was rejecting the foreign objects out of my body, which is a good thing. I healed faster than expected. Had no pain. I didn't even take my pain medication, the gave me OxyCodine and that shit, I will refuse any day of the week, I hate narcotics. Highly addictive bastards they are.
Flash forward to September 15th, 2022, I was approved for the funding through CAMH for my Hysterectomy. Friday I went to my family Dr to get a referral for Dr, Helena Frecker in Toronto as well, well didn't expect a phone call from her office the same day as the referral went in but, I got that phone call at about 3pm in the afternoon. I have my first initial appointment with her on December 22nd, 2023, so I guess, we'll see how that goes, I'm ready though, I just want this so called "lady reproductive system", something I don't need or want in my body at all. I can't wait until it is gone.

What is New York Times Co. v. U.S.?

A case of secrets, deceit, and bravery and the First Amendment. In 1967, the Secretary of Defense, Robert McNamara, had a full government study done on the actions conducted by the United States during the Vietnam War. This study was over 7,000 pages long and was labeled classified with very few copies made. This extensive study depicted incidences of government deceit and secret, morally ambiguous operations carried out under President Nixon’s administration. [2]
In 1971, a RAND Corporation employee named Daniel Ellsberg who worked on the now-called ‘Pentagon Papers’ began to slowly make copies of them. His claim was that the government should not be keeping such secrets from the American population, and that it should be exposed. With these copies in hand, he sent a few photocopies to The New York Times to be published. Almost immediately, the United States government called for a cessation of the publishing of these papers, and the New York Times reluctantly complied. However, Ellsberg was not going to let this go, and submitted some more photocopies to The Washington Post. Once again, the U.S. government ordered a cessation of the publishing, and the paper had to comply. [4]
However, it did not stop there. The Nixon administration applied for a restraining order against further publications publishing the papers, citing ‘national security’ concerns, which the Second Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed. The Times responded by making an emergency appeal to the Supreme Court, which agreed to hear the case the next day, June 26th, an unheard of decision. The Supreme Court issued its decision a few days later, marking only 15 days for the entire judicial process to take place. [4]
Essentially, the Supreme Court was dealing with deciding if the Nixon administration’s attempt to stop publication on these papers was a violation of the First Amendment. The First Amendment is as follows: [3]
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” [5]
The matter of discussion for the Supreme Court would be the section that discusses that Congress is not allowed to abridge the freedom of the press. In a 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court overruled the decision of the Second Circuit Court, saying that the United States government had failed to meet the ‘heavy burden’ on showing why the release of the Pentagon Papers was such a danger to national security. This landmark case set a massive precedent for Whistleblowers and the need for them. Though this case also set the waves in motion for the downfall of President Nixon and his status as the President of the United States. This is evident due to Nixon’s increasing paranoia that there are those who seek to remove him from power, which led to the attempted placing of recording devices in the DNC, also known as the Watergate Scandal. However, New York Times v. U.S. was an important case due to its decision that led to the expanding of protections for the press and placed more restrictions on the government that would attempt to tread upon this freedom. [1]

dream i had
I had a dream I was in an Italian restaurant in the middle of the desert and it was empty. No employees, no customers, nobody except me so I just sat down at a table bc everything else was otherwise kept very neat and taken care of.
I found some magazines on the table next to me and decided to flip through them. GQ, Vanity Fair, Vogue, Rolling Stone, Billboard (there were more, but those were some of the ones I remember). They all had Lil Peep on the covers in various outfits, makeup looks, poses, etc. Most of them were dated for 2018 through this year. I found another one that was much bigger and made of harder paper/card stock and had a blank cover, except it said "WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN..." on the front in big, bold black letters.
I decided to start flipping through that one too and the first page was a picture of Lil Peep. Someone came and sat in front of me at my table and I looked up and I don't think I have to say who it was as many times as I've mentioned him by name already.
"What're you reading?" he asked.
"A magazine." I answered.
"Can I read it with you?"
"Sure."
He sidled into the booth with me beside me and looked. The energy about him changed. We looked through the magazine together.
November 2017: Lil Peep leaves Arizona and voluntarily checks into a rehabilitation center after barely escaping a deadly overdose; his best friend and mother accompany him to offer their support.
January 2018: Lil Peep and Lil Tracy formally announce their departure from Gothboiclique, subsequently going on hiatus from both of their musical careers.
March 2018: Gothboiclique officially dissolves on account of allegations against management of forced intoxication by ex-members and their families. Lil Peep and Lil Tracy declined to comment.
August 2018: Lil Peep and Lil Tracy make a visit back to New Mexico, officially resuming their careers with a surprise concert.
September 2018: Lil Peep releases a new album, returning back to his original sound with Lil Tracy now officially his co-producer.

Me and Gus were quiet. I continued skimming through the timeline, flipping another page.

January 2020: Lil Peep was nominated for and received a Grammy, following a remaster and re-release of his Hellboy album in June of the previous year.

April 2020: Lil Peep is spotted in Las Vegas wearing a new wedding band. Marriage rumors remain unconfirmed today, as he refuses to comment. Speculation begins circulating that it was merely an "April Fools Day" prank.

I looked at him and he was laughing. Of course 4/20. We read on further.

August 2022: Lil Peep and Lil Tracy release another album together.

November 2022: Lil Peep celebrates his 26th birthday in Belgium with close friends and family. Lil Tracy is most notably in attendance.
December 2022: Lil Peep and Lil Tracy announce another year-long hiatus. Rumors begin flying that Peep has checked himself into rehab for the second time since 2017, citing his openness regarding his previous substance abuse issues. He remains semi-active on social media, which immediately squashes the rumors.

November 2023: Lil Peep and Lil Tracy burst back into the scene with a brand new album, containing 21 original tracks. Both stars cite their 5 years of sobriety as being their inspiration.

We ended up talking for a while, and both of us noticed that the other magazines were disappearing, and then the one in my hands just became blank.
He looks at me and asks if that's what his life really would have been. I just shrug and tell him that I didn't know and this was probably just a dream.
We ended up smoking a couple of cigarettes in silence together, and I watched him fade into nothing with the rest of the restaurant. Shortly before I woke up, he gave me a "goodbye" nod.
I woke up feeling very hollow and weird.

Voting Rights: Is Everyone Afforded The Same Opportunity?

In the United States according to the Constitution, the 26th amendment gives citizens of this great country the right to vote if they are 18 or older and their vote should not be denied by the United States or any state as it pertains to age [1]. This updated amendment came as a result of the Voting Rights Act of 1996 which made Congress reduce the age qualifications in all federal, state, and local elections as a means to increase young adult's participation because of the lack of individuals participating in elections [1]. Which made college students across the United States to protest for their lack of rights and not being able to vote in elections because of the age requirement being 21 [2]. So, as a means to decrease the student protests that were sometimes disruptive, Congress adopted a new legislation to the 26th amendment to lower age qualification to vote in the U.S. [2].
Voting in this country is a valuable and important tool to use because it allows you to express your right to choose who you think is the best individual, program, law, and so forth in your city, state, or government to enact the specific changes you want as it relates to politics. Voting allows us as citizens to exercise our civic duty to engage in politics and legislation that helps shape the world we live in. But that is not the case for some in the United States like those who have come into contact with the criminal justice system through incarceration, probation, or post release. 48 states have ban individuals who have felony convictions from voting in elections which accounts for approximately 4.8 million Americans during year of 2022 that represents 2% of the population eligible to vote and are now ineligible to vote because of the laws that take away certain rights afforded by the Constitution which includes the right to vote [3].
This was first seen during the Post-Reconstruction Era when different policies were made to restrict certain individuals from being able to participate in voting like minorities and lower class because of their status which made them not being able to voice themselves as it relates to politics during that era [4]. Some of the ways that those individuals were restricted from voting was through poll taxes, grandfather clauses, literacy tests, violence, and so on [4]. Voting rights in America has come a long way throughout the years, and it is still a battle that is being discussed in today’s news, especially in the state of North Carolina with the reinstatement of Voter ID laws and ending voting rights for individuals who are felons [5].
The voter ID requirement was first brought upon to the General Assembly in November 2018 to require voters who are seeking to vote in-person to present a photo identification before they are allowed to cast their ballot [5]. This proposal was filed by State House Speaker Tim Moore as a means to protect the integrity of the election process and avoid fraud that can occur if identification is not allowed [6]. Once it was approved by the voters of North Carolina, a senate bill titled 824 was enacted by the General Assembly to implement the approved proposal into law [5]. There was a veto issued, but it was overridden which caused some voters to critique the law stating it was discriminatory, the future was remained uncertain until December of 2022 when the North Carolina Supreme Court declare a ruling from three judges in Wake County Superior Court that stated the law or the case of Holmes v Moore violated the North Carolina Constitution [5]. The Court upheld the ruling, but an appeal was filed to petition the revisiting of the matter at a later date [5]. The rehearing of the case happened February 3 of 2023 which the Court allowed the petition and the Supreme Court heard it on March 15, 2023, and once the briefing and arguments were heard in reference to the decision made in 2022, the Court reverse their prior decision issued in 383 N.C. 171, 881 S.E.2d 386 by stating they heard the de novo which means “hearing the case without regards to the previous decision” and deemed it constitutional [7].
The Court also discussed and ruled on the issue of voting rights for individuals who are considered felons. In 1973, a North Carolina state law was enacted to prevent those who were serving a felony sentence from being able to register and/vote [8]. It was not until July 2022, the NC Superior Court determined the denying of felons voting rights violated the state constitution [8]. This allowed 56,000 of North Carolinians who were serving felony sentences to be eligible to vote, but then reinstated by the North Carolina Supreme Court that ruled the ending of voting rights for some individuals who are serving felony convictions [9].
From all the information I previously stated in relation to voting in the United States, it shows the uphill battle that states across this country are facing to enact changes and legislation that are in effort to support the citizens living in these states. Like the saying goes “It is going to be hard to please everyone” especially being a part of a democratic government that values everyone’s opinion on items that may be good or bad, but it is important for politicians, legislators, and other government officials to work in the best interest of the people they are representing. This means looking at all the sides of the argument or issue at hand and using critical, analytical, and reasoning to develop a thorough decision that creates more benefit than harm.
