My art summary for the year of 2023! I definitely felt my art level up this year after that March fanart. Found an ink brush to line with for that piece and it made my art look a lot cleaner and bolder so I started using it more. Admittedly, it takes a lot of creative energy for me since it's an extra step in my process but I think the end result feels worth it. 😅 Funny that it's always the personal pieces that inspire me the most to grow somehow (but not unsurprising of course.)

I think I am leaning overall happy with my progress this year. I am very pleased with my professional/commission works but I won't lie, I had a LOT going on financially where I could not step away to really draw for myself. I am glad my commission work has more appeal but it definitely came at a detriment to my personal relationship with my art. I have more commission works in my folders than I do personal pieces which is depressing to me lol but it is what it is! With that in mind, I am so extremely grateful to everyone who has been so supportive of me this year. To everyone who left nice comments and reblogged my art, enjoyed my ocs, signal boosted my commission posts especially when times were tough for me, etc. It means the world to me. And I want to thank my commissioners especially who have been absolutely wonderful people to work with. I had some amazing prompts and characters, got to expand my portfolio and offer new types of commissions (reference sheets and couple commissions!), and even had opportunities to try new things I never drew before! I even made new pals/mutuals drawing from new commissioners which brings me joy 🥰!

I hope going into 2024 I can focus a bit more inward towards my personal art. I don't have any real art goals, I think. I just want time and energy back to draw all my little ocs, all the ideas and doodles in my head that I was too exhausted to do in 2023. Touch 2022 backlogs I hoped I could get to in 2023 but couldn't in 2024. I'll still be taking on commissions throughout the year but I hope I can find some balance in my art journey in 2024. & maybe a potential art rebranding of my handle?

New Year's Kiss

This is a one shot idea I got from @krissy25. Thanks for this idea. I loved writing this. I had fun with this.

Warnings: none, just cute, fluff.

Y/N and Chris have been married almost a year. Chris has been away filming a movie, so you have been at home alone. You miss like crazy, but you understand its work, so you try to be understanding but it’s still hard for you. You are hoping he will be back by New year’s. It will be your first New Years as a married couple. It is Dec 30th, and you are lying in bed waiting for Chris to facetime you like he does every night. You look at the clock and see it is almost 11:30 pm. He has normally called by now, you’re getting a little worried. You had been reading and stop setting your book down on the table beside you. You sigh and just start to lay down when your phone rings. You pick it up and see Chris’s face. You smile.

“Hey sweetie!”

“Hey buttercup. How’s my girl?”

“I’m okay. I was starting to think I wasn’t going to hear from you tonight.”

“I know its late and I’m sorry. It has been a busy day.” He sighs a little.

“You sound tired.”

“I am.”

“At least you will be home tomorrow, and you can get some rest and we can spend new year’s together.”

Chris then gets quiet and presses his lips together.

“Chris, sweetie, what’s wrong.”

“Buttercup I’m sorry I will be able to make it by New Years.”

“What! But it’s our first New Years as a married couple!”

“I know, and I’m sorry. I am still filming and I…I can’t leave. Please forgive me and don’t be upset.”

“But what about the party and…”

“You go and have fun.”

“But I won’t have fun without you, and I won’t have anyone to kiss at midnight.” You frown and try to keep yourself from crying.

“Y/N I’m sorry. Truly. I want to be there. You know that. I love you and I would if I could. When I get home in a few days we will celebrate together, and I will make it up to you I promise.”

You continue to frown but nod at him.

“Please buttercup be strong for me and smile. I can’t stand to see you sad. I love you. I will talk to you tomorrow, alright? I will call you at midnight tomorrow or a little before. I promise!”

You nod again still not saying it.

“Buttercup please give me a smile before I leave. I want to see my girl smile.”

You sniff and force a smile at him.

He laughs. “Well, that’s not perfect but it will do. Talk to you tomorrow. Sweet dreams. I love you.”

You sniff again. “I love you too sweetie, goodnight.”

As soon as Chris hangs up your tears fall. You can’t believe you won’t see him on New Years. You and him had planned on going to Scarlett’s party and all your friends would be there but the one person you wanted to be with you wouldn’t be. You have no one to kiss at midnight. You set your phone on the charger and rolled over and laid your head on your pillow. You closed your eyes and tried to sleep.

The next day you wake up to Dodger licking your face. “Dodger!” you say pushing him away.

You look over at the clock beside your bed and see its 9:00 am.

“Well, no wonder your waking me up. Okay come on I’ll let you out and feed you.”

Just as you get up your phone goes off. You see it’s a text from Chris. You open it.

Chris-Good morning buttercup! I love you! I love you so much! You’re amazing! You’re beautiful! My love, my everything, my girl! 😘 🥰 ❤️❤️😍❤️‍🔥

You try not to cry as you see his message but he’s so sweet. You send a message back.

Y/N-Morning sweetie. I love you too. I love you so much. Your sweet! Thank you. I feel the same way about you. You mean the world to me, and I don’t know what I’d do without you. 😘🥰❤️💞

You carry your phone out in the living room. “Come on Dodger let’s go.”

Dodger follows you. You slide on the glass door and Dodger runs out. While Dodger is outside you fix yourself a cup of coffee. You had set your phone on the island, and it goes off. You walk over and look down. A text from Scarlett

Scarlette-Hey girl! Are you and Chris still coming tonight?

Y/N-Just me. Chris won’t be back 🥺

Scarlette-Oh I’m sorry to hear that. Well, I can’t wait to see you. You can get here at 5 or earlier if you want.

Y/N-Okay I will be there. Thanks girl.

You hear that your coffee is done from the Keurig and pick it up. You add some creamer then you take a sip. “Hmmm my favorite, French vanilla.”

You look over and see that Dodger is at the door. You open the sliding door and let him in. He walks in and walks over to his bowl. Seeing it’s empty he looks up at you.

“Oh, sorry bubba.”

You walk over to the pantry and grab the jinx dog food and pour some in his bowl.

“There you go boy.” You say rubbing his head.

You continue to drink your coffee and decide what you want to eat. You’re not really that hungry. You decide on a piece of toast. While you’re waiting for your toast you hear your phone. You look over.

Scott-How’s my favorite sister-in-law? ☺️

You smile. Oh Scott, Chris’s brother, he’s great. You and got close and have become best friends.

Y/N-I’m okay. Not the greatest

Scott-Oh no! What’s wrong with my bf?

Y/N-Chris told me last night he wouldn’t be here for New years🥺

Scott-Oh I’m sorry 🥺🤗You have me! I can be your date! You can even kiss me at midnight 😉 😂

Y/N- 😂 Oh Scott, your crazy! Lol Thanks for the offer, your sweet. I will definitely hang out with you but as far as kissing you, probably not.

Scott- 💔 you just broke my heart 🥺my favorite sister-in-law, bf won’t kiss me 😭

You laugh again. You know Scott is joking.

Y/N-okay fine I will kiss you on the cheek! Chris wouldn’t like if I he found out I kissed more than that 😉 ☺️

Scott-Who says he has to find out 😉😏☺️

Y/N-Scott you’re a mess! God, I love you! I will see you later. Scarlette told me I could come around 4.”

Scott-Why don’t I pick you up? You will be my date, right?

Y/N-What about Steve? Are you not going with him?

Scott-Oh no. 🥺 he had something come up and won’t there with me.

Y/N-Oh I’m sorry. Well, you can be my date since both will be partner less.

Scott-Sounds good! I will you see at 3:30 then ☺️

You spend the day curled on the couch watching your favorite Chris Movies. Then you look at the clock and see it is 2:30. You realize you need to get ready. You walk into your bedroom and get yourself ready. At 3:30 on the dot there is a knock. You walk to the door, open it and there stands Scott.

“Wow!”

“Y/N your beautiful! Chris is missing out.”

You smile. “Thanks Scott.”

“Well, you ready?”

“Yep, lets go.”

You follow Scott to his car. You arrive at Scarlette’s a few minutes later. She greets you at the door.

“Scott, Y/N come in!”

You walk in and see Downey, Hemsworth, Renner, Ruffalo, and Sebastian. Sebastian approaches you.

“Y/N, where’s Chris?”

“He couldn’t be here. He is still filming.”

Downey overhears and walks over. “You said Evans isn’t coming?”

“Nope, he’s filming.” He sees Scott standing beside you. “So, you’re cheating on his with his brother? Nice.” He smiles.

You laugh. “Of course, not. He just came with me since Chris couldn’t come and Steve is gone.”

“Surrre.” Downey jokes and smiles.

As you walk around and try to mingle with the people you have come to know through Chris, you find yourself actually having a good time. You have somewhat forgotten that Chris isn’t there. You drink a little, but not much. You have never really been a drinker and you’re always careful. You start to have fun. It isn’t until Scarlette says, “It’s almost time for the ball to drop!” that you realize Chris isn’t there and you won’t be able to kiss him. You hold back tears, and you look at the screen.

Everyone starts shouting “10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1!”

You sniff and hold back the tears closing your eyes but then all of sudden you feel arms around you and lips against yours. You open your eyes and see Chris.

“Chris!” You scream and throw your arms around him.

“Happy New Year buttercup! I love you!”

“Oh Chris! I love you too! I thought…. I thought you….”

“I made some changes, begged my manager to let me come on for a few days. I couldn’t not be with my girl on New Years! Our first New Years married.” He smiles. “Your beautiful by the way.” He then leans in a whispers in your ear “It’s a little short though. Glad I’m here to keep the guys away from you. I can’t wait to get it off of you later.”

You smile and laugh. “Oh, Chris! I love you! I love you so much!”

Chris smiles and kisses you again but this time a little more passionately. You were happy. Happy that Chris had come home, even if it was only for a few days. You were able to get your News Year Kiss, kiss the one person who meant the world to you, who had your heart.

I couldn’t get through a post about talking about creators in Danonation and/or my friends without mentioning Soph. Not only is she immensely talented, but her ability to shift between writing the sweetest moments and angst is basically unmatched. Shoutout to her for warming me up to the concept of having kids tbh bc wOW I did not see that one coming! I feel like almost everyone in my little circle has read or at least heard of Max’s Edward fic, Disarm. And I can confirm, Disarm is fantastic. But I also adore basically everything else of hers that I’ve read. Max’s interpretation of characters (specifically Eddie and Calvin) just makes my writing brain so happy. She is also incredibly funny, a massively talented artist, and a very lovely person to talk to and I couldn’t imagine this little community without her.

Anon, this question was both extremely easy and also extremely hard to answer!!!!

Each of these moments means so much to me. They define who they are to each other and furthermore, show how much they truly love one another. 🥺🥹🤧💞

But first, before I get into the moments...!!

If you're new here to my blog or to the NFL fandom in general and don't understand the term "Gronkady":

Gronkady is the ship name for Rob "Gronk" Gronkowski and Tom Brady, two people who used to play for the New England Patriots and then the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

As you will see below, their history together is legendary!!

Now, onto the moments themselves. 🤩🥳🔥💯💥

I have decided to start with number five and count backwards to my ultimate Tom and Rob moment.

I also have four other bonus moments in mind that are just as important, but simply didn't make the Top Five overall...let me know if y'all wanna find out what those are!!

So now, without further ado, here are my

Top Five Gronkady Moments!!!!

5). The first time they met!

Rob has told this story multiple times to a variety of sources over the years and he always tells it the same way:

He was in the locker room, taping up his ankle. Tom came over to him, held out his hand and said, "Hi, I'm Tom."

Instead of saying, "Yeah, I know," or worse, not saying anything at all, Rob said back, "And I'm Rob! Nice to meet you, man!"

This simple interaction between them may not seem like much, but it was the conversation that stated it all, even though at this point, they still had to formally begin building their relationship on and off the field.

4). Rob's video edit/tribute that he posted back when Tom retired for the first time!

2). BAD BOYS FOR LIFE!!

One of the things that I think about the most when it comes to iconic couples is how they all seem to have a little catch-phrase that is theirs and theirs alone.

For Tom and Rob, this catch-phrase is Bad Boys for Life.

It all started back in 2019 for the 2018 season after the Patriots won the NFC championship game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Tom posted this to his Insta page and though I didn't see it when he first posted it because I wasn't at all a fan of his, when I did finally see it, something about it changed me. Them being all showboaty but also silly *and* alone yet together like this is the stuff that fanfics get written about. 💗💓💞

And real quick, just to clarify, "alone yet together" means that they weren't around anyone else in that video but that they were still together as a couple!!

✨Anyway, now that that's cleared up welcome back to the feature presentation!!:✨

So furthermore, the chosen song and it's lyrics are super important for that moment.

Aside from the key one of "Bad Boy for Life", there's also "We ain't goin' nowhere; we can't be stopped now".

Realistically, I know that this is a reference to the entire team and how they all can't be stopped now/aren't going anywhere now that they have won everything except for the Super Bowl at that point.

However, it is worth reading into and noting that Tom and Rob are the only ones who made a video like this.

They could have chosen anyone else to do that with and yet...!!! They decided to exclusivelymake that video with each other. (((Insert the screeching cat emoji, AHHHHHHHH emoji, all the Kermit heart emojis here)))

Not only that, but it is important to me to note that Tom is the one who is holding the phone/camera and is doing the recording. He clearly *wanted* to be in that moment, making a firm memory of his time and opportunity with Rob.

Of course the editing/song part of it all came later, but I don't feel like Tom would have let his social media people choose that song if he didn't feel that it fully fit the moment. He wanted that song to be a part of their legacy just as much as he wanted the world to see them together like how they are within that video.

✨✨So now, the moment you all have been waiting for...

Here is my ULTIMATE Gronkady moment!!!✨✨

1). Absolutely everything about them together Tampa!!

As I'm sure all of you can tell based on my url alone, I LOVE the Tampa version of Tom SO MUCH.

I've said this before but I don't care; I'm sayin' it again:

Tom was very much a difference person in Tampa than what he had been in New England. His work ethic and overall beliefs/philosophies were the same, BUT he also began to show the public more of his true, easy-going personality from the moment that he arrived in Tampa. He clearly felt free to have more fun than what he ever had before and he wasn't afraid to show it.

And it's not like he didn't have lots of fun in New England because I know that he did.

But there was just something about him moving to a year-round sunshine-filled climate that set off who he had secretly been all along and who he wanted to be moving forward.

Basically, he still worked hard and had just as much fun in Tampa as what he had in New England, but Tampa offered him up a new chance to be more easy-going and super goofy at times!!

✨All of that having been said, to get back into the Gronkady of it all:✨

As we all (probably) know, Rob retired for the first time in 2019, after he and the Patriots had won the 2019 Super Bowl for the 2018 season. He left New England and went on to do retired football guy things while Tom suffered through one of the Patriots worst years ever.

Now, fast forward to March of 2020. Tom has announced that he's leaving New England and is going to, out of all of the teams within the NFL, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

A month later, in April of 2020, Rob announces that he is officially coming out of retirement to play with Tom on the Buccaneers.

Alright, and now...

This is the part of the story that everyone still isn't so sure about because both men have had conflicting takes on it.

Not conflicting bad, just conflicting in the sense that for some reason, they don't want the public to find out the behind-the-scenes details of what was really said between them.

They want to keep that part of it private/to themselves, and as much as the nosy person in me needs to know what went down for real, I also completely respect them saving a part of this story just for themselves. 🥺🥹🤧💗

All of the above having been said...!!

While the main theory about how they reunited is still up for debate, what many think to have happened is that Tom asked Rob to come back and play with him. Did they have discussions between each other about all of this beforehand? Probably. Will we, the general public, ever know for sure if this was the case? Most likely not.

At the end of the day, the bottom line is this:

Rob was fully in retirement, happy to be free of all of the responsibilities that come with being an active NFL player, when all of a sudden, his non-brother best friend and bad boy partner for life decides to leave New England and head south.

No matter how it happened or what they may or may not talked about before hand, Rob literally came. out. of. retirement (!!!!!!!!!!!) just so that he could play football with Tom again. 🥺🥹😭🤧😍🥰🧡🤍

Why else would he have done that if he wasn't at least a little bit in love with Tom?!

The game had always been very hard on Rob's body; he had so many injuries throughout the first part of his career. 😔😥

By all means, it would have made sense for him to simply stay retired while rooting Tom on from the sidelines.

But he didn't. He wanted to reunite with "the only quarterback he ever wanted to play for" in a place that was far away from New England, both geographically as well as culturally.

Them reuniting in Tampa proves how deep their bond is and how much they admire, trust and respect each other.

Additionally, aside from playing together again, they got to make some extremely cute and fun videos together!!!

This video series are a big reason that got me to see and understand Tom and Rob as more than "Tom Brady (™️)" and "Rob 'GRONK!' Gronkowski".

It is important that they agreed to make this video series in the first place and is a true testament to their commitment to have fun and be free with each other in their new home. 🥺🥹🤧💞

A baby.

A healthy baby boy. Cassandra's son.

A child, born into this desolate hellscape of a world.

It almost seemed too absurd to be real. But yet, here Raphael was, sitting awkwardly outside the medbay, waiting for his turn to meet the kid.

He's… small. Smaller than you would expect, Donnie had informed him earlier. Six pounds, eight ounces. But healthy, for a human infant. Thank God.

With a tired smirk, his brother had crossed his arms over his plastron. Especially his lungs. Sweet Galileo, that kid's got pipes.

That conversation had been hours ago. Raph had just returned to the resistance base following a supply run, and Donnie, bless his soul, had immediately come to find him to tell him the news—that the baby came early. Somewhat out of character for the reclusive softshell, but Raph couldn't blame him. They were all on edge and excited. It's not like he was complaining, either.

And now, he sat alone on an overturned crate, his hulking form slumped forward and knots twisting uncomfortably in his stomach. He curled and uncurled his massive fingers nervously—anything to distract himself.

This was silly, he knew. He had absolutely nothing to be afraid of. It was a child, for christsakes. A tiny human infant. Nowhere, not even close to the most awful thing he'd faced.

He'd stared down mutants, monsters, hell, the Kraang themselves. He'd gone toe to toe with the literal scourge of their world more times than he cared to count, and still lived to speak of it. And now here he was, actual butterflies dancing in the pit of his stomach at the prospect of meeting his closest friend's newborn son.

Stupid…

To be fair, this would be his first ever time interacting with an infant. Like, ever. Growing up in the sewers hadn't left him and his brothers with much opportunity for things like that. Then the apocalypse had come knocking on their door, and the entire world had shifted to survival mode at the drop of a hat.

So yeah. There was a first time for everything, he supposed…

Just then, the curtain covering the medbay opening was drawn back. April stepped out into the hallway, mercifully sparing him from this ridiculous spiral of doubt and anxiety.

The commander gently laid a hand on his shell. Her eyes, while half-lidded with exhaustion, shone with emotion, and her smile was soft.

"You ready, big guy?"

Raphael met her gaze and swallowed thickly before nodding once. With a grunt, he heaved himself upwards, then took a moment to steel himself.

April patted his bicep in understanding and encouragement, then flashed him one last smile before breezing past him and starting down the dim hallway in the opposite direction.

Now by himself, he took one last calming breath and gathered his courage. Ducking his head, he pushed aside the curtain and squeezed through the doorway. He blinked once, twice, and tried to let his eyes adjust.

Once his vision cleared, he saw him immediately—the child. Like a moth drawn to a flame, his gaze immediately flew to Donnie and the tiny bundle in his arms. His brother's signature gas mask was missing, replaced by a smile that was so rare to catch him with these days. His head was tilted down, and Raph's heart flipped when he heard him murmur something softly to the baby.

In the far corner of the room, Cassandra reclined in the nicest unoccupied bed, propped up by pillows. She appeared to be resting, but at Raph's approach, her eyes snapped open. After a heartbeat, though, she relaxed again and offered the huge snapper a tired smile.

Casting one last glance at Donnie, Raph shuffled forward and stood awkwardly next to Cass. Even after all these years, he never quite knew what to do—how to act—when someone he loved was laid up on a medbay cot.

After a moment, he settled on a lame, "Hey."

She snorted. "Hey, yourself."

"You good?"

"Oh yeah." She shifted herself on her pillows slightly. "Never better." Softly, she let out a breath, then closed her eyes. "Wish you'd been here, though."

Raph chuckled. If he'd had it his way, he would've stuck closer to base, but they hadn't exactly planned on needing to change diapers for another three more weeks. "Yeah, well... who would've guessed the little guy would have turned out to be as impatient as you, huh?"

"I did." A pause. "But you had to go. And you're here now. So. Stop procrastinating and get your dumbass over there and say hi, already."

She inclined her head toward Donnie and the baby, mischievousness setting her dark eyes alight. Raph huffed out a nervous laugh. By some miracle, he managed to unstick his feet from the floor and shuffle forwards.

Behind Donnie, Leo dozed in a chair against the wall, arms crossed and his chin tucked against his plastron. The slider was clearly exhausted, and Raph understood. Donnie had informed him that Leo had been up all night with Cassandra. It was just part of the job description for their resident medic—albeit a virtually unprecedented event.

When Raph was an arm's length from Donnie, the softshell briefly looked up and sent him a soft smirk before returning his attention to the infant. Timidly, he tried to peer around Donnie's arms, but found he couldn't see much around the blankets.

Donnie noticed, and rolled his eyes. Jerking his head behind him, he motioned for Raph to take a seat next to Leo, in the chair between him and the bed.

Raph complied. So as not to wake his brother or disturb Cass, he sat down as quietly as he could, but the spikes on his shell still scraped audibly against the wall.

Donnie procured a pillow and set it on Raph's lap. The snapper looked up at him, mouth open in a silent question.

"Want to try holding him?"

Oh. Duh. He nodded mutely.

Moving slowly and carefully, Donnie leaned in and gently lowered the little thing onto the pillow and into Raph's waiting hands. The babe would have practically fit into the palm of one of his scarred, calloused hands, but he instinctively cupped both around the little bundle protectively.

Tiny. Absolutely teeny. One of the smallest, wrinkliest little beings Raph had ever had the privilege to witness. Were… were all human babies this small, or just this one?

His eyes were closed, but he squirmed slightly as Raph gently brushed a thumb over his cheek. The hulking turtle gazed on in starry-eyed wonder, not able to take his eyes off the newborn. He was vaguely aware of Donnie hovering over the two of them still, keeping a close watch, but he paid him no mind.

"Hey there," he murmured, voice barely above a whisper. The baby yawned in response.

A warm, familiar, purposeful feeling bloomed in Raphael's chest. It was protectiveness, he knew that, but it was wildly different from the fearful, desperate response born in the middle of a battle, like when one of his brothers was under fire. It was more like… a promise. A commitment. A vow, made by himself and for himself, that from this moment forward, he would do anything, give anything he had, to make sure this kid made it. That he had everything he could ever need.

This boy's life was not going to be easy by any stretch of the imagination. Born amidst a war for the future of the earth, it was guaranteed. But in this moment, watching this infant sleep peacefully in his lap, he knew he would do whatever it took to make it go just a little bit better.

From beside him, Cass reached over and lightly brushed the back of her finger over the fine hair covering the baby's head, tenderly adjusted the blanket around his face.

"So?" she said softly. "What do you think?"

When Raph spoke, it was around a lump in his throat.

"... he's perfect."

For Talk Shop Tuesday - what gave you the confidence to start writing OCs, and how do you manage to mesh them so well with their respective universes?

How I got confidence to start writing them…well honestly, it’s because of Morgan’s existence and the outside encouragement I got from a friend of mine 😂:

Morgan’s not my first OC—I wrote a couple OCs for Warrior Cats back in the day; I’ve had a couple vague Ace Attorney OC concepts since 2018; and although Lucy was recently fleshed-out and made a proper OC, the Skywalker triplet idea is one I’ve been trying to make work since 2015 (the Kenobi show just finally made that click).

But Morgan is the first OC to grab me and not let me go, and there was just…so much potential there, even a year after I came up with her in 2020. So with the encouragement of a Tumblr mutual (who would eventually become an irl friend), I wrote Morgan’s intro fic! Though…even then, she wasn’t the version of her we know and love. That evolution would come with time (and she’d also gain new and wonderful relationships…hello, platonic-soulmates Barry & Morgan, besties Morgan & Iris, etc). She would also, slowly but surely, become the lens through which I engaged with the show 😂 I still write non-Morgan Flash fics, but it’s definitely infrequent because of how entwined Morgan is with my Flash viewing experience (ever since I first watched s2!)

To put it simply…I had an awesome cheerleader and a thirst to get to know Morgan more. And the same is true for Lucy, whom I’ve written! Once it finally clicked how she could fit in, it was like I kept going “okay and?” and filling in more blanks, and it just snowballed 😂 in a good way ofc, which I’m very glad for.

It definitely comes down to which OCs stay in my mind, which ones I feel I can actually write a story for. Some of my OCs probably won’t get written, simply because I’m either not super active in those fandoms or putting them to prose is more daunting. It’s a feeling I get 😂 but I definitely advise any newbie OC creators…if you’re unsure about writing a fic for any of your OCs, start small! Start with snippets, oneshots in a series, drabbles. Don’t try to force it, or you’ll kill your muse. And having cheerleaders helps—joining the OC community has been wonderful, because I’ve gotten to meet people with wonderful OCs who love mine too! It’s a win-win 💞

As for how I mesh them so well with their respective universes…aww that’s very sweet 🥰 honestly it just comes down to rewatching the source material and figuring out where to fit them in. Outlining helps…but sometimes I also just get a gut feeling.

Example: Morgan wasn’t initially going to be part of rescuing Ronnie, and her finding out after the fact would cause tension between her and Team Flash later, but…I vetoed that because a) too much tension gets to be a hindrance and b) her being there gives me a chance to show the reader her and Ronnie, rather than just telling…and set up Barry as a parallel to Ronnie in her life (showing that, rather than simply telling). It was a deviation from my outline, but it’s the feeling I got while rewatching 🤷‍♀️ and I’m glad I kept it!

The key is definitely to know the source material inside and out…and be flexible! Try different things, even if they don’t work out! Who knows, you might strike gold you never expected. And know which relationships are key. Which ones have you shown? Which ones have you shortchanged? How can you fix that (if you want to fix it)?

Of course, this advice won’t work for everyone 😂 I’m guided by characterization above all else, and not everyone’s like that. But hopefully that gives you (and anyone else reading) some insight into me as an OC creator.

Okay so I’ve had a few tiny little smosh phases over the years, my first being when I was like 8 or something and my last one was in 2020. I was never super involved in smosh, especially the fandom, I mainly watched the main channel sketches, then also TNTL when it came out as well as those Smosh Games Just Dance! specials. Of course, I came back to Smosh this year when Ianthony brought it back as I saw the announcement on either my fyp or a MoistCritikal video (don’t remember 😭) and was like omg smosh!! And decided to check out what they’ve been up to recently. Fast forward to now, and I have my first fandom account!! I’ve only had a public account for somehow LESS THAN A MONTH STILL?? But I’m super greatful to y’all and everything that’s happened so far, and I hope to only feed you guys more in 2024 🥰🥰😘😘

Hello, my dear anon! 💗 thank you so much for the sweet ask!! It really means a lot to me. 🥰

I've been okay, with some moments of greatness.

I took a break from this blog for a while, I guess because the fandom was getting me down a bit. I started hanging out on my other blog and got reeeeally into some other fandoms like Our Flag Means Death and, to a lesser degree, Loki (and also just started watching Yellowjackets S1--WOW is it intense).

Byler is still my favorite ship and I need it canonized more than anything, but it's been good to fall in love with some new characters and ships in the long, long wait until S5.

More recently, IRL, I went to an amazing multi-artist show with my friend from out of town, then continued on to a road trip with said friend to a famous national park I'd never visited.

Both of these were bucket list goals of mine, and it was really good to spend time talking to my friend, since we live far apart and if I'm being honest, I've been pretty lonely for a few years now.

Work has been getting me down for a while now also, but I've learned some good news in the past week that may lead to more money in 2024 (thanks, golden luck potato!!)!

Health issues remain mysterious and obscure, but manageable for now. I decided to postpone my last couple appointments in favor of taking the trip with my friend, namely because the doctors never have any answers for me and for once, I wanted to use the money for something fun. I don't regret it at all.

So yeah, I don't know how long I've been away, but that's been a lot of it.

I don't know if it's a fandom problem or a me problem, but after a while I tend to get burnt out on fandom wank and run away.

It happened with Byler and more recently with OFMD, whose fandom I both love and despise. Some of the takes from a certain slice of the fandom are so rancid, I wonder if they get the characters at all. Add to that a very disappointing finale and frankly bizarre interviews with the showrunner, and suddenly I needed a break from that, too.

(Tbis may be a me problem after all since I tend to run from people and friendships/relationships and ghost them, too 😬)

Speaking of which, I'm pretty bad at answering asks most of the time, but yours was so kind and lovely that I felt the need to try.

It's nice to meet you out of anon too, I'm a bit shy and not that active on tumblr except for following a few blogs here and there so I usually prefer to stay on anon, but you seem really lovely so I felt comfortable to send an ask off anon :')). Also I just noticed that you followed me which djdjdj you're one of my fave blogs on here so I did fangirl a little bit. :)). Your Ocs are so well developed omg. I adore them all. P Martens and all the golden ROs are my comfort characters, whom I won't stop gushing over. They're so well written. I have way too many Ocs to keep track of and ever since I've downloaded sims 4 it hasn't gotten any better. You had a list of IF recs a while ago but I can't find it. I've been in the biggest reading slump ever and have been looking for some new ifs to read and since u have great taste I would love to check out some or the ones your recommended. I've just been replaying golden and BDSI by the lovely Mila because idk what it is about her writing, it's just so addicting to read and reread. She has such a way with words. I honestly think she's become my favourite author at this point. 😊

Your voice is so beautiful, if you ever put your songs on Spotify or YouTube please lmk I would love to add them to my playlist. I've been listening to them on repeat. The way you craft lyrics is so genius and accompanied by your voice and the piano it's just wow! As someone who songs like a dying goat, but appreciates good music I can tell you your music is incredible! 👀
