Jughead's Diner

This is another crossover with my OC Kate and another set of characters from other fandoms but this time (as the title stated), it's Jughead who's the protagonist of this little series. Hope you enjoy!

Story:

Jughead Jones is the proud owner of Jughead's Diner in Toonami City, but he's not alone. Join him in his staff as they have wacky shenanigans at Jughead's Diner.

Cast:

Jughead Jones (Archie Comics)

Jughead is the owner of Jughead's Diner and head chef. He cooks the best burgers in Toonami City and has a characteristic wry and sarcastic sense of humor. He is considered a bit of an oddity, but prefers his nonconformism as opposed to going along with others' styles. He is best recognized by his insatiable appetite and interesting choice of headwear, especially if he a little wary of dating girls.

Kate Morgan Jones (My OC)

Jughead's American-Filipino cousin who is a detective and works part-time as asst. manager, cashier and waitress. Kate is quite tomboyish and responsible, given that she also has a short temper, Jug would often be the voice of reason for Kate and vice versa.

Lila Rossi (Miraculous Ladybug)

A part-time model for Agreste Fashions and waitress, Lila is the gossip girl at Jughead's Diner. Although people see her as being mean and selfish, she's actually nice from the inside. Despite her lying tendencies, she has an eye for detecting customer's lies and truths.

Aurora (Disney's Sleeping Beauty)

Better known as Briar Rose, Aurora is the kind of girl who would be both active and tired. She loves being a waitress but her curse of sleeping gets the better of her sometimes, all of her co. workers try to wake her up when she falls asleep.

Flash (DC)

Barry Allen is Jughead's Diner's fastest delivery guy who can be at a customer's doorstep in less than 5 minutes. He often talks really fast when talking to customers but that doesn't stop him from delivering food for the diner.

Captain Boomerang (DC/Flash)

Even though he is the Flash's enemy, George 'Digger' Harkness is in charge of suppling Barry with the deliveries, he's also in charge of the drive tru. Despite his juvenile and unhinged personality, he's the laid back fatherly figure staff of Jughead's Diner.

Beetlejuice (Beetlejuice)

Going by the nickname BJ, Beetlejuice is the lazy worker who couldn't do inventory properly. His describe as the 'unclean and irresponsible' worker but his sense of humor is both funny and dark. Whenever there is trouble for the diner, he always come up with some 'plans' to save it.

Jughead's Diner bingo card

Described here semi- woefully as "safe surrealism". Which is a shame -- an opportunity lost from the creators when they could have been writing and drawing that type of surrealism that... overthrows governments? I am sure that is what Bill Golliher and Dan Parent had in mind, but were stopped by a fretful editor.

I note two items in this page. One probably could have been kept, the other size reduction restrictions probably required a dropping.

A trademark is dumped. One joke of a flourish goes missing.

And slipped in dedications are out. These were, by the reprintings, a decades old reference to a decades old pop cultural ephemera, so maybe it is good that they spare everyone an update to a new outdated allusion.

the thing about the jarchie paradox is that archie’s Gay Feelings challenge the narrative of the all american boy and jughead IS the narrator. he can’t actively participate. narrator jughead and real human boy jughead being merged creates a persona where he’s one step removed from the reality they’re living in, having to control the narrative and live it out without REALLY living it

my biggest critique of archie fans is those who refuse to accept how wavy and unconcrete ‘canon’ is. ‘jughead cant be ace bc he’s had girlfriends’ .. jughead is an employed member of the time police who’s job is to save the universe and also a totally mediocre highschool student and a famous drummer and capable of alternate dimension travel and lives in year 3000 and is a caveman and is a toddler and is in a gang and is a zombie and is a werewolf and is the new owner of pop’s. i think we can handle him being aroace in some versions and gay in others and neither in others. i think thats ok

Jughead's Diner Ep 2: Willie's Dilemma

3rd Person's POV

It was a rainy afternoon in Toonami City, nothing much going on about, especially at Jughead's Diner. Kate, the asst. manager, was at the register when the door opens with a ring and a man walks in. He had red hair that was almost balding, a matching red beard, overalls and a tired look as he sat on a chair nearby the counter, Kate recognizes the man as Groundskeeper Willie, the janitor of Toonami Jr Elementary School.

Kate: Hey Willie, what's the matter?

Willie: (Sigh) Ya wouldn't believe me, lass, but I've got a problem.

Kate: A problem?

Willie: I'm... I'm so lonely (sobs)!

Kate: (Pats him on the back) Oh there there, Willie, I'm sure you'll find a girl one day.

Jughead comes out of the kitchen and notice the situation at hand.

Jughead: What's going on, Kate?

Kate: Willie here is lonely, I'm not sure why.

Jughead: Let me guess, girl problems?

Kate: Guess so.

Willie: (Sniff) Oh what am I going to do? Where am I going to find me a beautiful lass?

Kate: Well, did you try a dating service?

Willie: Aye but there's none.

Jughead: Blind dating?

Willie: Nay.

Kate: Tinder?

Willie: That app gave me nothing but troubles.

Jughead and Kate look at one another, knowing they have no idea how to help the poor Scotsman. Then an idea pops in Jug's mind and a sly smirk lay on his face, Kate looked at him with a confused but concerned look.

Kate: Um what's with that look?

Jughead: Weelll, I've just got an idea.~

Kate: Huh? You do? Then wha- (realized) oh no...

Jughead: Say Kate, would you go out with Willie?~

Kate: ...Eh? Ano? (What)

Jughead: I remember you and Megavolt are in an open relationship, right?~

Kate: (Facepalmed) I knew your going to say that...

Willie: (Dry his tears) You.. you would go out with me?

Kate: Well, I don't see why not.. (looks angrily at Jughead)

Jughead: (Smiles and rolls his eyes) Yeah, a reeeal good idea.~

Kate: (In her mind) (Sigh) Why am I even related to him?.. At night, Willie had asked out Kate for a romantic dinner at the diner. Kate look splendid in a little black dress that was picked by Lila.

Willie was wearing a nice dinner suit and his hair was neatly made, even though he's also wearing his favorite kilt to go along with it.

The beginning of the night was a little awkward, Willie was admiring his date while Kate was a little nervous about this whole thing, as well as keeping glances at the kitchen to see Jughead cooking, giving him death glares while he was being smug.

Willie: It's really nice of ye to go out with me, lass.

Kate: (Turns back to Willie) Huh? Oh yeah, it's no problem Willie, anything to help a fellow customer.

She smiled. Willie was enamored by her smile like the face of a fine China doll, which made him admire her more. Jughead served two hot piping plates of burgers and fries with some cool fresh lemonade, he gave a wink to Kate, knowing the plan is working, while Kate had an unamused look at her face but knows the plan is working as well. As they ate, Willie couldn't help himself that he is actually on a date with a woman before. He only values his work but he also want to value something even more: love. And that love is yet to bloom until now. When they finished, some music was playing through the speakers, Kate was blushing from it and then looks at Jughead, who was waving his phone with a grin. Kate turns her head around to see Willi, standing up and takes out his hand while showing a smile.

Willie: Mind if I have a dance lass?~

Kate knew Willie was old-fashioned and he acted like a proper gentleman so it was only fair that she accepted his hand as they danced. Willie never thought the day would come until he saw Kate, in her lovely black dress, hair tied in a bun, face painted with a natural look and little makeup. Kate thought Willie looked handsome, all dolled up and acting like a proper gentleman, she couldn't help but smile and blush a little. As the music stops, Willie holds her close by wrapping his arms around her waist while she wraps her arms around his neck.

Willie: Thank ye for the date, lassie.

Kate: It's no problem, Willie, after all, I give good service to the customer.~

Willie: (Kissed her hand) Ya sure did, lass.~

They just stared at each other for a few minutes and then kissed passionately. While kissing, Jughead took a picture of the two kissing when the couple noticed him. He smiled nervously as Kate glared at him.

Jughead: (Nervous laugh) J-Just taking a picture, cous..

Kate went into full demon mode and started chasing poor Juggie around while Willie was just watching them, mostly admiring Kate from a distance.

Prize winners

It had to have been neat. Win a recipe contest, so get drawn into the comic book, and have your recipes published at the end. I don't know if they had to drop last names as they at forty year olds not signed the release they did at ten. It figures that the boy's menu item has a gross factor, not really needing the explication. The girl's -- well, we go from having it all laid out for you at the end of the comic to -- "It's a secret".

I keep reading posts about the biblical plaques and my brain keeps trying to force it into biblical plagues. So either the writers have dyslexia or they’re referencing the Saint Jaime Luna bible.

#🤷‍♀️ at some point I will catch up #until then #riverdale #also the plagues of Riverdale go #snakes falling from the sky but they’re based on FPS incorrect knowledge of snakes #all the milkshakes turn into maple shakes; Cheryl is beside herself with glee #bags of chips from the lastest product placement and there’s like #fifty up close shots of each flavor #that have nothing to do with the plot #but is just a cash grab #bonus points if one of the parents is chewing the scenery #the last born is given a ticket to ride the f*k out of town and never come back #sweet water runs red; at first they think it’s blood but then it turns out it’s just mine run off #the real curse is everyone turning into a redhead because of it and the joke is that they’re all now related to Archie #Veronica is immune tho because she washes her hair with alpine waters #there’s a sudden coffee shortage; normally this isn’t a problem but it makes Jughead infinite time more insufferable and cranky #Tabitha unleashes him on everyone who’s left a bad Yelp review #and on the truckers who tip terribly #there’s a plague of fog in the town and only pops diner sign cuts through it #that’s solved in half a day when they realize Reggie’s just being inconsiderate with the fog machine he brought out to make the dealership #scarier for their ‘scary low prices’ sale #(Betty plots to make the dealership the next location for SKC because why not? it’s free real estate) #there’s a minor infestation of maple syrup covered aliens on the lonely highway #this is mentioned once in passing; a pair of drably suited FBI agents take up space in the diner #the red head is always rolling her eyes at her partner who seems to deliberately try to goad her #he and Jughead become quick friends and neither is seen for a week; when they come back it’s never mentioned again #there a plague of fries that fly through the town #it takes three episodes for someone to realize the typo but by then there’s a new plague of nerds playing G&G on every available surface #I’m just saying lean into RAS #damnit tumblr and your 30 tag limit
