what i gathered:

today Poi from Daemi (one of two KinnPorsche novel writers) published tweets that say she was domestically abused and cheated on by Build, and attached screenshots of their messages, which are not comprehensively translated yet

yesterday (?) Poi made hints on the things above, not stating anything clearly

yesterday Poi accused Build of stealing her ideas for his new project 4 Minutes

4 Minutes is being written by Sammon, who denied the claims, has a clean record and is objectively a much better writer than Daemi

Build broke down crying yesterday at the biblebuild event

Build made victim blaming comments about sexual assault, homophobic (?) comments online, some of those were not too long ago, a bit more than a year or so i believe edit the comments from a year ago were altered/faked

2 days ago Poi and Yok from Daemi announced that they are disbanding and leaving the publishing house

Be On Cloud projects lineup happened 5 days ago

while being allowed to be closer to KinnPorsche show production, Daemi made the cast uncomfortable, behaved inappropriately and harassed them sexually

KinnPorsche novels are somewhat glorifying sexual assault and abuse

thai industry people have been trying to bury Be On Cloud since approximately june 2022

Bible does not have any pictures with Build on his instagram at the moment (archived them?) - edit seems to be false, he archived different stuff before this even

How did you think of Rochana? She is a new favorite! What made you bring her character in?

well, among other things, i really wanted another female character to round out the cast. i mean, i really appreciate kinnporsche's "can't sexualise women if there are no women" approach to media, but. please. just a scrap. i am begging.

ah, rochana. babe. she's been in the fic since chapter one, and that's for a good reason.

chapter one's purpose is to set the stage for the state of affairs in sheets. i wasn't interested in rehashing large parts of canon, so i decided to start the fic with porsche already recruited -- which meant that chapter one had to communicate a lot of information in its relatively short 5k runtime. so basically all of the stuff that's in the chapter is there for a purpose.

for example, the scene at the start of the chapter at the club with tae is there to establish all the facts of the situation very quickly, and to give a brief window into porsche's feelings about this: porsche is kinn's fake boyfriend, actually a bodyguard, knows stuff about bodyguarding; they're all up in each other's space with palpable sexual tension and basically no respect for each other; and porsche feels incredibly isolated and objectified by what's going on.

so what purpose does chana serve? (i referred to her as rochana in the text because i was aware i already had two characters named chan and chay, and i felt this would be easier for readers to parse.)

primarily, i introduced chana because i wanted porsche to have a friend among kinn's service staff. i wanted to communicate that porsche had really good people skills and was fully capable of making nice -- to make it even more clear how uncomfortable he was in kinn's presence, that he didn't employ those skills with kinn's friends.

the other reason i introduced chana was to establish one of the core tensions of the fic: porsche and how he fits into his social class. porsche is from a working class background. kinn is a beacon of generational wealth. a lot of the issues porsche has with kinn early in the fic are to do with porsche's dislike of what he sees as the trappings of the wealthy (i.e. sick rich people bullshit). chana is there to help contextualise porsche and his perspectives against the backdrop of extreme wealth. she helps remind us that kinn's lifestyle isn't normal. she's a little beacon of porsche's socioeconomic background, hanging out in the laundry room.

and then the final two reasons are kind of boring by comparison. i wanted to have a scene where porsche was hiding somewhere listening to compound gossip about him (to help establish that he isn't kinn's usual taste -- i am very attached to the fact that kinn dated twinks and twinks exclusively until porsche came along and ruined him for all other men) and i also wanted to have a scene where it was like, "oh, but the laundry girl sees all." because. you know. between the sheets. the fic title.

but yeah. i know a lot of people don't like original characters in fic, or are very leary of them, but i don't tend to think that hard about including them. they just have to have a set purpose, and they have to have some sort of personality that makes them. you know. a person.

anyway i love chana a lot, and i'm glad people also seemed to.

Fanfic rec for @kprecfest This fic has taken mixed media to a new level. I continue to be astounded by the writer's creativity and talent and how they incorporate so many differents forms of media, be that text messages, video or articles into the story. They've composed a music piece, wrote and illustrated a children's book, created a digital magazine with animations. They've also used readers' comments and weaved them into the story, as if they were someone reading one of the articles from the fic and commenting on it. And, of course, the story itself is wonderful, full of fluff to balance out the angst and philosphical musings on art, celebrity culture, music and life. I really enjoy how the complex backstory gets slowly revealed and to see the story unfolding so organically. This fic definitely deserves some more attention and appreciation.

Kurosawa from Cherry Magic: I just....relate to him lol! I too would like someone deeply but never tell them and keep it to myself. I too would have horny thoughts about them and also want them to just live their best life full of confidence, courage and strength. Kinn Anakinn Theerapanyakul from KinnPorsche: If you have seen even 4 posts on my blog you will know i feel a lot for him....you'll never know the DEPTHS of my feelings for him coz they deepen further every day. I’m totally doing this w 5 characters as well bc I can’t ever choose (plot twist: not even 5 characters are enough, I need an alphabetised list).

Teh (ITSAY + IPYTM) // I know, not technically a BL, but he just resonated with me so much. 🥺

Ae (Love by Chance) // So actually Saint is my fave Thai actor but Ae as a character is just so amazing. He’s just so grounded and matter-of-fact about everything (until Pete leaves but we do not talk about this).

Meen (Fish upon the Sky) // Meen is naive and annoying entirely by choice and doesn’t want anyone to change him. I love that about him because I too am naive and annoying.

Pharawee (Gen Y) // Okay listen, hear me out. Technically Gen Y is, uhm, not a very good show and Pha as a whole is not a very good character. BUT THE POTENTIAL. The power this character wielded through all of season 1 without being shown on screen until the very end. And the way they could have used all of this for some seriously good storytelling if they hadn’t completely thrown him under the bus. Starhunter, you owe me a show w Big Thanakorn as the main protagonist. I’m waiting.

Toh (SCOY) // The way Toh started out thinking he could never ever measure up to Nuea and so he resorted to collecting things and photos because that’s the only way he could be somewhat close to him... yeah, the way he went about this is not okay in rl but this is a show that’s deliberately way over the top. Anyway, Toh deserves everything and the way Seng portrays him is 👌😩

That one time Starhunter not only straight up killed off my fave char, no, they had to do it in the most ridiculous way possible w him potentially dying of rejection and his parents leaving the room BEFORE he breathed his last and then not showing up for his very strange funeral in a one-person-graveyard with the most ridiculous fake gravestone ever.

But also, the way The Tuxedo is such a weirdly-paced mess. Green and Chap deserve better than this and I was so looking forward to seeing them as mains in a show together. 😔

P much everyone in Don’t Say No has impeccable taste imo but Fiat’s red suit really stood out for me. Apparently in reality it’s not exactly that shade of warm red which was somewhat disappointing.

Also, not a BL character but Mile Phakphum (and Bas Suradej, too?) is really selling those flared 70s trousers. I wasn’t ready for them to make a comeback but he singlehandedly convinced me otherwise.

Also also, for the record, I really liked Tong’s hair in Gen Y 2. Fight me!
