i would love to hear your thoughts/casting on a princess and the pauper au!! that movie was my childhood 😭

OMG YES LET'S GET IT!!!

this might get kind of long bc this can go two ways, really

so the first one i am SUPER into and that's a sakunami/shibayama switch for the prince and the pauper!! sakunami would be the prince and shibayama would be the pauper, and this would follow the part of the barbie movie where the pauper person falls for a visiting prince, who in this case would be lev. and when sakunami switches to the pauper life, he meets the one and only koganegawa kanji!! tbh this one wouldn't really do the whole "royal goes missing and you must take their place", i'd probably adjust some of the plot for it to be something else

BUT if we wanted to follow the movie EXACTLY, then i am SUPER SUPER into it being yahaba shigeru and numajiri rintarou, mostly because i think it'd be REALLY funny. so in this one numajiri would be the prince and rather than a tutor, he has kyoutani kentarou as his personal aide/guard. and when jiri goes missing, kyoutani recruits yahaba to replace him!! the only problem is that kyoutani and yahaba have such a hard time getting along LMFAO, so it's a struggle to keep up the image when they're at each other's throats so often (and then they fall in love anyways). meanwhile, jiri has been kidnapped but escapes and meets asamushi kaito and crew. i haven't quite figured out asamushi's role in all this yet, but i adore asajiri and i really wanted to include them somehow LMAO

so there you have it!! i'm very fond of both and if i were to write them i'd probably do one that's like . . . typical fantasy setting like the movie and the other a modern kind of thing, so that way they're not TOO similar LMAO. tbh you could probably do even MORE versions (semi and suga, iwa or mattsun or akaashi, so many buzzcut characters??) but i love the ones i have right now

altho. semi and suga would make an EXCELLENT duo for this . . .

After much deliberation, I have decided on the final ships for the bracket. I'm sorry to anyone whose ship didn't get in, it was really hard to decide! I considered doing a bigger bracket but for the sake of my own sanity, I'm leaving it at 32.

I did a poll on how to long to run the polls for the other and majority said a week. However, I've given it some more thought and for the first few rounds, I'm only going to run them for 1 day. Semifinals and finals will run for a week.

I'm going to repeat what I said in the intro post: Campaigning is absolutely fine and encouraged, just please be respectful and kind to each other. Cool? Cool.

🗣️ and 📄 for the wip ask game !!!! :)

🗣️: okay i shall do ANOTHER favorite wip and this time it is called "wherever you go in this world (i'll come along)". it's an iwaoi fic (title shamelessly stolen from a song in one of my fave barbie movies when i was a kid LMAO) and i originally wrote it with the intent of posting it on their 2022 birthdays (either oikawa's or iwaizumi's) but i tragically could not finish in time!! it's a goal to set for this year tho, we'll see what happens. it's about oikawa trying to make it to japan on time to visit iwaizumi on his birthday, but a bunch of mishaps happen that make it seem like the world is working against them. it's interspersed with flashbacks of iwa's previous bdays and what oikawa means to him and how they've grown throughout years, so it's very sweet and yearning and full of longing. it's pretty much my one and only iwaoi-centric piece and i hope to do them justice!!

i suppose if i started working on it again right now, i could finish on time . . . .

📄: OH MY GOD. I FEEL SO SO BAD ABOUT THIS ONE BUT. i have a kogasaku/shibalev fic titled "Shakespeare's Got Nothin' On Us!" that i uploaded ONE chapter of in 2020 and i have never touched it since. i don't even have chapter two written yet. i SHOULD finish it it's like my baby and i need to take care of it!!! oh well, maybe some day LMAO
