A heaved sigh was heard from the Sacaen princess. To think she would be wearing something so revealing, but hey it is ... not that bad. It is kind of similar in a way to what she used to wear back home. Florina and the other ladies suggested that they give the beach in Askr a chance to kick back and relax. Of course, some gentlemen were around the area, too. Lyn choose a quiet place to sit down and watch for a bit when she noticed someone walking by. "Hm? Ah, you're here, too, Zechariah?" perhaps she is too harsh on the guy for thinking he wouldn't enjoy something like this. "We should enjoy our time here before we are to march into another battlefield," pushing some of her hair behind her ear, she looked at the sea in front of them. "You're not going in?"

The majesty of the open ocean before him was quite the sight to behold upon first glance, with Zech rarely having such opportunities to see the sea firsthand, but the novelty soon fades before long leaving the swordsman feeling considerably like a "fish out of water" as he meanders about the beach. Even though he's appropriately dressed in a light-fitted, short-sleeved, blue shirt – left unbuttoned so that the scars littering his toned upper body and scattered about in numerous places along his arms were openly exposed, something that left him feeling a bit uncomfortable especially since his battle-worn body seemed to draw a few cursory stares from the other heroes – plus a pair of black trunks and open-toed sandals upon his feet, he never was a fan of the sweltering heat, so that was one point that was diminishing his experience. Meanwhile, the rest of the heroes seemed to be making the most of their time with various beach-related activities, whether that be playing little games, building things from sand, splashing about at the shore, or lounging about — all of which felt quite unsuitable for him.

What was he even doing here, he wondered? He would've been better off staying in one of the nearby shacks, taking a nap in a much cooler place or reading from a selection of tomes he'd borrowed.

Amid his aimless wandering, he ends up in a quieter portion of the beach and turns as soon as he's called to by a familiar, feminine cadence... And he promptly finds himself a bit dumbstruck at seeing Lyn dressed in her own beach attire – a rather fetching two-piece whose style was reminiscent of her usual plainclothes, accented with frills on the top and various little accessories, coupled together with a flower arrangement that kept her long, green tresses in its signature ponytail compared to the usual band she wore. She looked... Quite mesmerizing, honestly. Most of the female heroes wore such fetching swimsuits, he couldn't deny, but something about seeing Lyn in just such an outfit gave him a certain degree of pause he wasn't expecting.

Zech realizes she had asked him a question and he flinches a bit as he snaps out of his reverie, his face heating just a touch with self-conscious warmth. He turns his head away from his companion, propping one hand upon his waist and the other reaching up to scratch the back of his head – his own telltale nervous habit.

"A-Ah... No, I wasn't planning on it. I've never really been to the beach before so I don't have the first clue for what to do while I'm here..."

It almost comes across as an excuse, but it's the Light's honest truth of the matter.

"...What about you? Didn't want to get in on any of the other's games yourself?"

Quick October 2022 Refine Theory Craft!

Alright it's time again. And for spooky month, we got Lethe, Yarne, and Fallen!Tiki. I just so happen to planned ahead and made refine theory crafts for these three so read about them here.

Which leaves the monthly Grail and Seasonal refine. No 3/4 stars this month, but really, there was a drought of them back in 2019, then we got an extra one every banner after cyl 3. Stay tuned for that.

Delthea: Tatarrah's Puppet

Death: "Grants Res+3. Grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+4 during combat. After combat, if unit attacked, deals 4 damage to unit."

Glacies - Death Blow 3 - Even Atk Wave 3

OH, Death approaches. This brain washed puppet going to do everything you command, even if it kills her.

I don't think her base need to be improved, but let's do it anyway.

"Grants Res+3. Grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+5 during combat. After combat, if unit attacked, deals 5 damage to unit."

Replace 4 with 5. Cool.

Now, for the special effect, I'm thinking of using the same effect of OG!Celica and Tailtiu. Those effects are Brazen Atk/Spd and Wrath.

"At start of combat, if unit's HP ≤ 80%, grants Atk/Spd+7 during combat, and also, unit's attack triggers Special, grants Special cooldown count-1, and deals +10 damage when Special triggers."

With this and the base effect, she can get to 80% with two encounters. If that's not fast enough, add the Fury seal for one encounter. And if you don't want to get hit, obviously inherit Desperation or Vantage. From there, just keep dancing her until everyone dies or she get hit while on 1 HP. Just remember, this strategy won't work in Summoner Duels.

Lyn: Lady of the Beach

Deep-Blue Bow: Grants Spd+3. Effective against flying and armored foes. If foe's HP = 100% and unit initiates combat, grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+4 during combat.

Reposition - Sturdy Impact - Atk/Spd Link 3 - Distant Guard 3

Fun in the sun! Lyn was designed to one shot not just flying sword units, but also armored sword units. She has Sturdy impact to make safely attack foe's with guaranteed follow-ups. When she's not doing that, she's using her Repo to move allies to more offensive spots over water or forest tiles while rallying them with Atk/Spd Link. And Distant Guard is there just cuz why not.

Unfortunately, effective damage and + 4 to all stats only when the foe is full health, isn't gonna cut it, especially with base 33 Atk. Now I could lower the HP condition to 75%, add "near allies" for enemy phase, and bump up the stats. But then I thought, lets make it so the additional stats go up the more HP the foe has. Armors do have a lot of HP (unmerged armors have only 5 more average HP than all other but shhh).

"Grants Spd+3. Effective against flying and armored foes. If unit initiates combat or is within 2 tile radius of an ally, grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res = X during combat. ( X = foe's HP x 10%, + 2, Max 9)"

Math time. If the average HP of a foe is 40, then when Lyn initiates combat or allies are near by, she gets +6 to all stats. COOL! If the foe has 1 HP, she gets +2 to all stats. Okay. If the foe is between 99% or 75%, which is 39-30 HP, that's +5. That's the average amount with these new perf weapons. If the foe has 50 HP however, that's +7. And if they have 70, that's the maximum of +9. Only Arden with max merges, flowers, and the HP +5 skill. can make it that high. Other armored melee units can reach it with refined weapons or boost from Aether Raids, but it's unlikely you'll find a foe like that in arena.

But why put a Max at all? Røkkr Sieges.

Moving on, Lyn still needs a bit more fire power, and some more counters to foes.

"If unit's Spd ≥ foe's Spd, deals damage = 15% of unit's Spd, neutralizes effects that prevent unit's follow-up attacks and prevent guaranteed follow-up to foe, and also, foe uses sword, lance, axe, dragonstone, or beast damage, foe cannot counterattack."

What we have here is little bit of everything Lyn had in previous alts or needs because she's a flyer. True damage based on Spd, Null Follow-Up, and Windsweep only against melee ranged foes. If the Far-Save, Distant Counter, Omnibreaker, All Def, no Spd, foe can OHKO Lyn, they can't hit her now, not without Null C-Disrupt, and she is getting 6 to 8 true damage. For the condition, L!Lyn has the same "Out speed your opponent" to get the bonus damage and Summer!Lyn wants to follow-up naturally and she doesn't get acuess to Null Follow-Up, being a flyer. This does make Sturdy Impact practically useless on her, but there's still some bow and dagger foes that can hit you.

So, this weapon is basically Laws of Sacae II combined with Null Follow-Up, and the true damage from her Spd.

Recently I havent been able to draw anything. I got new supplies and started drawing like crazy, but then my life started getting hectic again. I'm sorry I'm so inconsistent on this account. Seems like the only thing that makes me happy is what I have a hard time finding the love and motivation to do. I'll try harder next time....thanks if you're still sticking around. I appreciate it. This is like the only place I feel I'm allowed to truly get sentimental without the attention and judgement. Its nice. Thank you tumblr.

So time to get my salt out about the AHR results!

1. Seiros- To be expected. A lot of people wanted her in the game and she’s a shiny new mythic who is kind of overrated if you ask me. The 7th slot effect is busted but Seiros is yet ANOTHER dragon with a lot of stats.....AND on top of that she’s a dragon in the worst season for dragons. I personally hope she does not win the gauntlet overall....    (ㆆ_ㆆ)

2. Duo Lyn - She’s ridiculously fun to use in AR and the reason that I’ve decided to slap a maxed out Duo’s Hinderance building on both of my Anima and Dark defenses. I want her so bad!  (┬┬﹏┬┬)

3. Legendary Dimitri - He placed higher than both Edelgards?!? Color me fucking shocked! Yay DIMA! I lowkey want him to win the entire fucking gauntlet so I can get a free merge (but he won’t because Seiros is cockblocking) I’m really torn on who to support now. I really want him to at least make it to the second round to ensure he gets on the sparkable banner because easy MERGES. ~\(≧▽≦)/~

4. Freyja - GOAT LADY! I really like Freyja’s design and I don’t have her so I wouldn’t be upset at all if she ended up on the banner at least. Sadly she’s not really a good support unit or carry unit in AR since she can’t get blessings so all she’d really do for me is give +3 attack and be on Aether pot duty  (づ￣ 3￣)づ

5. Legendary Corrin - ummmm she’s got really good fodder but I wouldn’t use her much so if she somehow wins....then free Distant Counter and Joint Drive Attack? 

6. Brave Edelgard - explain me HOW she beat Legendary Edelgard? She’s in the regular pool meaning that she can show up on 3 person skill banners with WAY better rates for sniping and will most likely get a Hero Fest rerun in Golden Week. It doesn’t make sense (っ °Д °;)っ 

7.  Duo Byleth - She’s here because booba tbh. I have her at +spd and she’s a wicked good offensive unit with windsweep. Her Duo skill is.....meh though. I’d just use her for ground orders fodder tbh.           〜(￣▽￣〜)

8. Duo Micaiah - So if you can get around the weird WEIRD pairing of her and Sothe her Duo skill is busted. Her and Lynja are the reasons why it’s like a necessity to have the Duo’s Hinderance building on defense in AR. Dominance is ridiculous. 

Honestly I’m super salty Duo Sigurd is NOWHERE to be found in the top 8. Like are we really going to deny a cav dancer just because two ladies in bathing suits were drawn with beach balls hot glued to their chests????? Anyway I hope Seiros and B!Edelgard go up against each other first. (¬‿¬)

Normal Marx listens to what Mark and Lyn says before standing up: “Please, excuse me for a moment, I need to talk with someone.” Saying this, the Prince leaves the table and his Summer version turns to Lyn: “I don’t told anything to anyone. I don’t know how she managed to discover what happened at the beach.” Few minutes after, Marx returns to the table with Felicia following him. He places on her side and turns to her: “So Felicia, can we know what happened this morning while you were working?” The maid gives a pair of nervous looks around her and on Mark as well before answering: “W-well… I… I was with Joker a-and we were cleaning some rooms. A-and… at some point I was… coming out f-from a room and I… I found in front of me… S-S-S-Sir Mark totally naked.” She makes a pause to cover her face because she’s blushing: “I… I was totally surprised a-and so…” Marx ends for her: “You frozen him?” She simply nods and Marx makes another question: “But did he tried to… touch you in some way?” She moves away her hands opening wide her eyes: “What?!? NO! Of course not! He… he doesn’t done anything. It was me the only one to act.” Marx nods: “Thank you, Felicia. You can return to your job.” The maid bows again and leaves while Marx turns with a frown to Kimono Camilla: “Camilla, JP told he wants to see you into his room right after lunch. Alone.” Camilla opens wide her eyes half-shocked: “W-why?” Marx moves to his place without moving away his gaze: “I’m sure you know the reason.” He sits down again and turns to the guests with a less grave face: “I ask you forgiveness for the behaviour of my lady sister. JP asked me to accompany you to the gardens after lunch because you need to meet someone.” He makes a little bow: “I hope everything will be settled.”

After Mark and Lyn defended themselves Marx brought Felicia up to confirm the story and she told everything that happened truthfully, which made the two breathe a sigh of relief.

“Well, at least someone here isn’t out to get us.” Mark said with a nervous chuckle.

“I still want to know how she found out about my offer to Marx.” Lyn wondered. “But honestly, one or two more weird things like this and Mark and I are leaving.”

“Hey, you seem to have a level head Marx, so I’m glad you’re leading us about.” Mark added.

(Slightly, and I haven’t seen enough of your Loki to tell yet. And I censored the words because certain people don’t like seeing them.)

Package 2: The Packaging

Two decks came today from PrinterStudio! I ordered the Sea Whispers Oracle by Lyn Thurman and the Ocean’s Voice Tarot by Sibila Delphos.

Sea Whispers Oracle

This is a 48 card deck. You can use it right out of the shrink wrap but there is a link to download a free guidebook. The cards have a title at the top, a keyword at the bottom, an image, and a border in various shades of blue that looks like ocean waves (the backs use the same pattern).

I think the images are drawn from stock photography (I didn’t look at the guidebook, just looking at the cards), There’s a variety of beach/nautical/ocean themed imagery., cards like Anchor, Beach House, Lighthouse, Coral, Shark, Driftwood, Figurehead, Poseidon, Mermaid, Sea Witch, Seal, etc. The only gripes I have with it is that the card titles are written in white in one of those cursive typefaces that are sometimes hard to read (especially since some of the cards have a white background). Protip: If you’re going to do this, add a black outline for the letters if possible, it makes the text much easier to read. My other gripe is the PrinterStudio Manufacturing Smell, but that’s not the deck creator’s fault and I can fix that with my anti-smell spice mix.

Overall, a very nice deck, has a nice clean design and a variety of imagery and keywords that (for the most part) mesh with the images.

Ocean’s Voice Tarot

This is a 90 card deck (78 tarot cards + 12 zodiac month cards) of mostly ocean-related paintings. It is borderless and the majors are not numbered. The only majors that have been changed are the Magician is the Mage and the Hanged Man is the Hanged Nymph. The suits are Cups, Wands, Spades, and Pentacles. You can buy it in English or Spanish. In the order they were printed, Justice is 8, Strength is 11.

The art is, I mean, some of these paintings are pretty famous. Botticelli’s Birth of Venus is here, I think a couple are Waterhouse’s because I recognize them from another oracle deck, there’s another Venus in the Ten of Cups that I love but can’t remember the artist. Do you like artistic nudes who are also mermaids? Great, you’ll love this deck.

Now, as a readable tarot deck, my first impressions are on the fence. I definitely see some nods to RWS tradition (the one painting of Hermes/Mercury in the Underworld seems out of place until you realize the Magician’s planet is Mercury). I really like that the Emperor is an actual figurehead. (Someone do me a favour which painting is that?) The court cards appear to have been done by the same artist (one artist did the queens, one artist did the kings, etc.) my only complaint is that the queens are a little plain compared to the drama! of the other cards. I think my major issue with the readability of this deck is that some of the paintings that were chosen are very busy, and for most of them I don’t know the context of the painting so I can’t connect the painting to the meanings that I know. However, it is a beautiful deck and I can tell it will look gorgeous in a spread. Also I appreciate swoony naked ladies.

Just a note about the English version, “Strength” is misspelled “Strenght” it doesn’t bother me because my brain automatically corrects it but I know some people are picky about that sort of thing. Also, this is just a personal gripe of mine, and it’s not so much of a gripe really, but I’ve noticed a lot of decks from non-native English speakers like to put “the” in front of most of the cards “the Death”, “the Justice” etc. It’s not a big deal and it’s one of those things that makes sense in other languages, but it looks awkward in English. In general, if you have a person (or a thing like the chariot or the tower), it uses a the (The Hierophant, The Empress, The Hermit, etc.) if it’s more of a concept or personification of an abstract concept (Strength, Justice, Temperance, Judgement) it doesn’t need an article in front of it, even though Judgement refers to The Last Judgement traditionally, a judgement is distinct from Judgement in a general sense. It’s a weird English thing and I’m sorry for bringing it up.

Other than that, very pretty deck, and the zodiac cards are a nice touch (they all have an ocean creature assigned to them).
