Rank the characters of Devil May Cry! I'm not going to give you a specific list of characters, just rank whichever characters you feel like ranking.

Dante - The OG, the exceedingly traumatized old man whom I adore. Is it a bias? Yes, but can you blame me? Also my favorite color is red so the stars aligned.

Vergil - The sopping wet cat of a man, he amuses me. And makes me cry. He has so much emotional depth because of DMC 5, so there's no way I couldn't love him. His and Dante's brotherly relationship has stabbed me so many times, but I can't not adore them.

Nero - Sweet little angry dude, I adore his horrible issues and the ways he has moved past them. He's the emotionally stable Sparda (and he isn't even emotionally stable). He's great l love him :)

Nico - I just. She's really funny guys. She makes everyone around her lose their minds, it's great.

Lady - She's a great character whom I dearly enjoy. It's great watching her deal with the stupidity of the demon bois. She also has great emotional depth, but that's most of the cast.

Patty - WOW more bias time. She's great both as a reflection of Dante's trauma AND as his daughter. There is also, more than likely, and element of how I have written her that is affecting this, but she's too good for me to care.

Trish - A good arc, a good character. The funnest part about her is thinking about how she interacts with the rest of the cast, and the ensemble.

Kyrie - Another good character, one I wish we could of see more of. Still, her sweet and caring personality shines through in the short appearances she has. Very good

None of these chara years are bad, and I adore their dynamics and individual personalities very much :)

I'm getting so sick of major female characters in historical media being incredibly feisty, outspoken and public defenders of women's rights with little to no realistic repercussions. Yes it feels like pandering, yes it's unrealistic and takes me out of the story, yes the dialogue almost always rings false - but beyond all that I think it does such a disservice to the women who lived during those periods. I'm not embarrassed of the women in history who didn't use every chance they had to Stick It To The Man. I'm not ashamed of women who were resigned to or enjoyed their lot in life. They weren't letting the side down by not having and representing modern gender ideals. It says a lot about how you view average ordinary women if the idea of one of your main characters behaving like one makes them seem lame and uninteresting to you.
