In my preparation to live a life more outdoors I have not used AC or heat in my house for the past year. It wasn’t really an experiment, but here’s what happened:

The temperature range outside for the past year (including wind chills and heat indexes) was approximately 26F during the predawn hours in winter to 110F at the height of the day in summer. The temperature in my house probably ranged from about 40F to 90F, but I had no way to actually measure this so it’s just an educated guess.

Obviously we’re skipping over spring and fall, because you don’t need climate control for those seasons anyway.

Let’s start with winter, since we’re heading that direction again. For me, the main challenge of winter is honestly braving the cold for 30 seconds when I need to put on a bra to go running. That’s really it. I usually don’t wear one to work because I’m usually wearing three layers of clothing, so I don’t need one, but if I go to the town gym I have to change (the gym does not have climate control either). I don’t really have a solution for this other than to just suck it up, or wear a bra to sleep (which I used to do all the time in high school, but I dislike it now).

In order to stay warm in the winter, I have three main methods: kotatsu, blankets, and hot shower. I’m almost always wearing 2-3 layers of clothing and fingerless gloves, which I usually sleep in too. I usually do laundry biweekly in winter, and weekly (or more) in the summer. So that’s a point for winter (also no bugs). Anyway.

Kotatsu is pretty obvious--it’s warm under there. I know my housemates have already broken their’s out for the season, but honestly I’m gonna try to not use mine this year as an added challenge, I guess? Idk, I’m also just lazy and don’t feel like getting it out. And also because...

Blankets get the job done pretty well. This apartment came with 5 million blankets. I’m currently using 3/4 of the Main Blankets on my bed, but the third one is still too hot sometimes at night. Otherwise, as long as I put my hood up I’m never cold at night or when I’m sitting in bed, which is usually what I’m doing at home.

Hot shower is the third method. I love this one because it literally gives you cold immunity for like up to an hour afterwards, especially if its Too Hot. I once got out of a Too Hot bath and ended up sitting in my underwear in my 40F room for awhile after because I was Too Hot.

The secret fourth method is exercise, which I do a lot of because it is my Lifestyle. You have to change quick though bc your sweat will get cold fast. (then I take a hot shower, and I’m basically cold immune until its time to go to bed again lol)

Summer is a lot worse in my opinion, mainly because it’s humid. It’s literally sweat central and because this is rural Japan, I can’t exercise shirtless outside. It definitely makes me want to go outside though, because sweating is much better when youre moving than when you’re just sitting somewhere.

I don’t really have multiple methods of cooling off except for cool showers (of which I took many), occasionally putting an ice pack on my torso when I felt like it, and using a fan (which is extremely necessary in order to not sweat, and also dry my body off when I come back from exercising. I will literally sweat through an entire shirt in 10 mins, the humidity is fucking insane, I have wrung 100ml of sweat from my short shorts, I have disinfected the home gym mats after using them for those aforementioned 10 mins. The chewing gum in my kitchen was ruined simply bc it was humid. I had to clean mold off the kitchen floors and tables. Just imagine constantly being soaking wet if you’re not in front of a flowing air source, that is my life. Luckily I derive a very masochistic joy from this, so it could be worse). I keep the windows open literally 24/7, and the fan runs whenever I’m in the house basically, unless it’s raining because it’s significantly cooler then. I essentially do not wear clothes in my house in the summer.

The worst and completely unanticipated consequence of this though was the appetite loss. I lost approximately 10 lbs on accident, because I wasn’t eating lunch (mainly bc I wasn’t in school and I just didn’t feel hungry). This really fucked with my health and made me much more prone to passing out, especially during exercise. I was also iron deficient, though I don’t actually know what the cause was, because I was tested for that at the beginning of June. My hair was definitely falling out though. Anyway, when fall came around, I gained it all back. It’s wild to notice how my appetite changes from season to season. Now that its getting colder again, my dinners are much bigger than they used to be.

Overall, I’m gonna keep doing this, because i’m very used to it now. I just have to make myself eat lunch when summer comes around again. Cold spaghetti never tasted so good let me tell you. Also, my electricity bill is like half of what my housemates are, so thats fun.

akdjkdjkkaj i'm not the best at explaining things but i made a tutorial on how to make the gifs after the cut :) please note that this entails basic gif-making knowledge and general understanding of photoshop and use of its tools.

if you have any other questions, please let me know!

gif #1 & 3

the first and third gifs are done using similar processes in which i mostly utilized selective color and added warped text.

first, create your gif and adjust its settings to your liking.

for me, i first sharpened the gif. then i added some adjustment layers like brightness/contrast, curves, etc (and doing my best without whitewashing the character) since the lighting of scene i used for this gif was pretty dim.

add a selective color layer

modify the selective color settings by choosing to alter the neutral colors in the drop down menu. then you can tinker around by selecting other colors to adjust or playing around with the levels of cyan, magenta, yellow, and black to make the gif more of a color that you desire.

because i wanted mine to look purple, here’s what i adjusted:

now the gif is purple! but you can see that darla also has a purple tint to her, and we want to remove that. to do so, make sure you’re still on the selective color layer and now click on the brush tool.

make sure you’re on the selective color layer mask thumbnail and your brush tool has black set as the foreground color.

with the brush tool, use it to essentially erase/paint over the areas where you want to remove the purple tint created from the selective color layer. you can also adjust brush settings; i used a softer brush to make the distinction between darla and the purple background more subtle.

and voila! part one of making a gif with a purple background is complete

now you’re going to add text. for my text, i mainly used this tutorial explained under gif #3.

so you’re going to add new text layer and type in whatever you want with your desired size and color. then, you’re going to click the “fx” icon at the bottom of the layers panel and select blending options.

like the tutorial states, set blend mode: difference, color overlay blend mode: color, and gradient overlay blend mode: multiply. i also added a drop shadow to make the text more apparent.

then i’m going to warp text by right clicking the text layer and selecting warp text or you can click the warp text icon at the top.

i chose the flag style and adjusted the bend of the text to my desire. you can also play around with horizontal/vertical distortion if you like.

finally to create the white outline of the text, right click the text layer and click duplicate layer so you have two of same text layers.

click the “fx” at the bottom again to get to blending options.

check stroke, set the size to 1px, and the color as white. turn off the other text layer effects (color overlay, gradient overlay, etc.) by unchecking them.

finally, in the layers panel, set fill to 0% and move the white text outline over your original text and you’re done!

for my third gif in this gifset, it’s basically the same steps of creating the gif > adjusting settings > selective color layer > using the brush tool erasing areas where you don’t want the color tint.

then i implemented the same text process and settings. the only difference is how i warped for the text.

for the third gif, the warped the first line of text using the shell upper setting and the second line of text with shell lower. adjust the bend to your liking. then i would edit > free transform the text layers to move them to their respective corners of the gif. the white stroke layers are done using the same process.

there you go! that’s how you make gif #1 & 3 :)

gif #2 & 5

these gifs are little trickier to make, but some of the coloring steps are pretty much done the same as for gifs #1 & 3!

first, i downloaded these templates from @thlaugraphics. i’ll demonstrate using the diagonal template. i then resized it to the desired dimensions i want for my gif. then i went to timeline > create frame animation > convert to video timeline to ensure that the gifs can move when put in the template.

next, have your two gifs prepared. make sure they are the same frame length!

then input your respective gifs to the template’s different parts where it says “torn paper pic here” or “background pic here”. the creator of the template provided this super helpful tutorial that i used! (also make sure that when the .psb file opens in another tab and you input your gif, that you continue to convert it to frame animation/video on your timeline.)

(i’m using two of the same gifs in this example bc i’m lazy lol)

now you have your two of gifs placed into the template, and it’s time for the coloring effects.

for my second gif in this gifset, i used the same process as gif #1 and #3 in which i utilized selective color.

so, add a new selective color layer. adjust the colors to your liking. as i did previously, i modified the neutral colors to it gif looks more purple.

then, like we did for gif #1 and 3, we can erase the parts of the gif that we don’t want to be covered in the purple tint. making sure you’re still on the selective color layer mask thumbnail, click on brush tool.

set the foreground color as black and then use the brush to essentially erase your desired parts of the gif, or in this case, the purple tint on darla.

and that’s how you make gif #2!

for gif #5, i used gradient layer to make the purple vignette look, which doesn’t require the selective color layer. with your original two gifs in the template, go to layer > new fill layer > gradient. click ok.

open the gradient fill window. adjust the style to radial. check the reverse box. change the gradient color to your liking (i chose purple in this case). then adjust the scale according to how much of the gradient you want to border your gif (i did around 230%).

and there you have it! that’s how you make gif #5.

gif #4

the fourth gif is pretty simple to make. first, have your gif ready and fix its adjustment layer settings to your liking. i added mainly the brightness settings for this one.

then, create a new layer and change it to “color”.

next, click the gradient tool in your tool bar. change the gradient colors to your liking at the top left. apply the gradient across and over your gif.

you can also reduce the opacity of this layer if it looks too vibrant/harsh for your taste.

finally, it’s time to add the text. add a new text layer and type whatever you’d like.

then click “fx” at the bottom of the layers panel to access blending options.

check the drop shadow option and the stroke option. set the stroke to 1px and the color to white.

finally, set the fill to 0% and that’s how you create the text!

if you want to create the check boxes like i did, click on the rounded rectangle tool in the toolbar and draw the boxes beside the text. add check marks through text layers and by typing/pasting them in as emoticons.

and you’re pretty much done!

gif #6

ok for sixth gif, the beginning steps are basically the same as gif #1 & 3′s in which i used the same adjustment settings, selective color, and masking/erasing process.

after that, click the rounded rectangle tool in your toolbar and draw a border around your gif. i set my border size to 5px in this.

next, click on that shape layer and then the “fx” at the bottom of the layers panel to access blending options.

check gradient overlay and make sure blend mode is set at “normal”.

modify the gradient colors and angle to your liking.

afterwards, add your text through new text layers and enter whatever text you want. click on the “fx” for blending options again.

check drop shadow and gradient overlay, and just like the rectangle tool, you can edit the text’s gradient colors and angle to whatever you’d like.

then, move the text to top and bottom of your rectangle borders.

finally, go back and click on the rounded rectangle layer. then at the bottom of the layers panel, click on the layer mask icon. make sure you’re now on the layer mask thumbnail!

similarly to how you would use the brush tool to erase parts of the selective color layer, do the same for this rounded rectangle layer.

use the brush tool, make sure the foreground color is set at black, and erase parts of the rounded rectangle border where the text lies.

and you’re done!!

and that’s pretty much it! i apologize if anything confuses you lmaoo

hot milk tea, thoughts and feelings

I’ve only mentioned it briefly, but I’ve said that I’ll be taking a break from my SetsuAyu series - mainly because of my uni workload though.

But for now, I have a lot of thoughts about the entire thing as a project as well as myself as an artist. So I figured that I’d write a reflection of sorts (warning: it gets kind of personal).

Can you believe it’s been 3-4 months since the series started? I can’t, and I’ve been the one drawing all of these!! If you’ve been reading my work, I’ll say it over and over but I really appreciate it!!! Like I’m dead serious!!! Completely!! Utterly!! Without a doubt!!! I love all of you!!!

When I posted that first comic, I didn’t think it’d get the positive reception that it did get. Like, I’ve been producing basically entirely Muse content for years and suddenly decided to tap into Nijigaku? You could argue that it didn’t get that much attention, but either way, the attention it did get surprised me. I was so happy that people were engaged (and it still makes me stupidly happy, like on a level where I’m almost embarrassed to admit HAHA)

Recently I’ve just uploaded the bonus for the 3rd update which wraps up that part, and it really just clicked - that I really have invested soooo much time into this series. 36 pages now! And we’re only 3/10 main updates in!! I have so much passion for this - like a fire that can’t be put out. Every single update has something that I want to communicate/show so I always feel fired up. Heck, if you’ve spoken to me during the process you’d catch me always saying “I’m excited for the next one!!!” while working on it LMAO. It’s been my longest string of non-stop work. Usually I feel burned out more quickly but I was always so excited that I couldn’t stop! You’d find that I’m usually in a state of conflict bc I alwaaaays want to talk about it but at the same time I don’t want to spoil anything. (THE NEXT UPDATE JUICY)

I think it’s a clear reminder of why I draw actually. The answer between each artist always differs, but I think it’s something important to be aware of. And well, for me? I’ve realised I’m a passion-monster. Passion keeps my blood pumping 100%. As a result... you could say I might be a more selfish kind of artist. Maybe it’s burn-out from running all those ask-blogs/RP when I was like 13-16, but I’ve realised that I’m having the most fun drawing what I genuinely love. It’s kind of why you’d rarely see me do requests and why I no longer do commissions. That isn’t to say that I hate drawing for other people. It can be fulfilling! But it’s more like - I barely have the time to draw for myself, so drawing for others is kind of a lower priority in general. It’s also why I’ve decided against studying graphic design when I graduated highschool. It’s just not happening as a career.

When I ask myself, “what kind of artist do I want to be?” I always think “Somebody who marches to her own beat and works hard to make content that she loves.” It’s also why I never delete anything - even my oldest art that makes me cringe. Because the me from 5 years ago put her love into that too. It’s really cheesy sounding but that’s how I see it LMFAO. I couldn’t do that to her. And also, just because I don’t like something anymore, it doesn’t mean that no one else does. So I’ll continue to never delete my old work. As a bonus, we get to see how far I’ve come too~.

I feel a little vulnerable admitting something like this and I’m pretty sure I’ve only told like 4 humans, but I think my #1 goal as an artist is that I want people to be able to look at my work (that I actually put my heart into) and think “this person loves this” or “this person works hard”. If you can do that, and sincerely feel the feelings I put into my comic, then I’ve already reached my goal. Can people tell how much I love these characters? The series? The concept? Can people tell how much work I’ve been putting into these updates? Can people tell when I’m having fun? It’s something I think about a lot. The idea of that people might think so makes me tear up HAHA - I get really sappy thinking about these kinds of things. And well, if people can’t tell then I’m not working hard enough!

That isn’t to say that I’m always putting my life-blood into everything I make. I’m mainly referring to the stuff where I do. I think it’s pretty clear when I’m pumping a lot of love into something. In general though, there’s always an intention for me to like communicate some idea or feeling and doing something like that requires maybe a bit of love~.

I feel like that as a character, Setsuna really resonates with me a lot. In personality? Not at all LMFAOOOO (she’s such a nice girl!!). More because of her ideals and principles. After typing like everything that I did up until this point, I bet you can guess why. I’ll keep it short and simple though, since this post is getting stupidly long.

Basically, I really resonate with her drive and passion as both an artist, and just in general actually? I’m a believer in that if you’re passionate about something, you can spread that passion. That’s the mentality I have with my art. If my love shows, then maybe other people will understand why I’ve come to love something. And maybe they’ll come to love it too. If I’m having fun, maybe they will have fun too! Very cheesy, I know, but that’s just how I roll!!!

Like rare pair? New fandom? Still applies. It might take awhile, but eventually either the people who love that thing will find me, or I’ll help people come to love something new (or at least see where it’s coming from lolol)!

And as Setsu says:

You tell ‘em girl !!! That devotion is my driving force!!

Of course I know this is idealistic, but I think that’s fine. It’s no bother to me if someone feels indifferent/ negative towards my work because that’s just natural.

I think it’s a form of communication and that’s what drives my art. I’ve been intending on writing a guide/ or talking about my art process for comics for some time now and I think that’d be the first thing I’d mention? I’m always trying to communicate some sort of feeling/tone/idea and that comes from a place of love y’know.

I feel like I’m saying “love” and “passion” a lot - you can really tell I’m vibing with Setsuna huh LMAO. There are other reasons I vibe with her too, but I won’t touch on that.

Coming back to my SetsuAyu series. You can tell why I’m so happy about it right? The story, the pairing dynamic, I feel like that people are understanding what I’m trying to communicate - that people are receiving my feelings of love for it and that makes me smile so widely. I really put a lot into it!!

This series is the first large project I’ve ever taken you see and I’m so so happy that I’ve been able to get this far! It really means a lot to me. But it wasn’t actually the first comic series I’ve tried to do. I actually had a Muse long-running comic planned years ago - a Dancing Stars on Me! AU but it never came to life. I think it was my lack of confidence that held me back. It might be weird of me to pat myself on the back, but I’m proud that I managed to get going this time!! I’ve actually written the SetsuAyu series in a way that for the first half, I could drop the series if I really wanted to at any point (each part is pretty independent, and that description I always copy-and-paste is all the explanation you really need), but now I know for sure that I don’t want to drop it! I wanna keep going!! Even if it gets tough. Although it might be a little early for me to make such bold declarations, I’m only 3/10 through LOOOL. But that’s just the way I feel right now!

I know it’s irrational and it’s something I’d rather not admit, but an anxiety that’s always looming over me is the idea that I’m not working hard enough - or that people think I’m not? Each comic update...takes like a month right? And a month is a long time. There’s this part of me that is convinced that people think I’m lazy for working so slowly. And I know it’s not true!! It doesn’t make sense for it to be!!! But like I said it’s irrational.

I’m really proud of this comic y’know. It’s a really big commitment and I’m proud of myself for being able to commit. I work full time 9-5, and I also am in my final year at university. I’m... kind of busy lol. So the huge factor in that month-long update turnaround is just that I don’t have the time to always be drawing. But I try to draw as much as I can! If you have me on discord you might notice me work on it for like 2-5 hours, almost daily before I go to bed (1am). Of course I’m not only drawing, but after I get everything plotted out sometimes that’s all I do. This comic is super time-consuming LMAO - and I try my best to work on it a little at a time.

So yeah, the entire month of comic-production is me drawing every almost every night.

Yeah it, - it’s kind of exhausting. Even though I’m itching to work on my next update, I’ve decided to take a break for uni crunch which is why I say the next one might be two months. It’s really odd though. The other night I was in bed feeling restless. It was so weird not drawing till 1am that I felt like I needed to be doing something. This comic series might have weird effects on my habits...

It makes me anxious thinking that it’d be so long till next update. But I’ll do my best to push that aside ! Hopefully I can get uni done and dusted ASAP! I want them to date dammit...

I've decided that I want to see this series through to the end. It’ll probably be May next year when that happens though LMAO! Please bear with my slow turnaround time. It’s only been 3 updates, but I can already see that I’m improving with each one. With each update I feel like I really learn from the previous and I always feel this sense of excitement with trying out new techniques and trying to create different feelings. I really want to see how the last updates will look compared to the first! Technically we’re 3/10 (10 is an epilogue), but after 6 I actually stop doing bonuses? So teeechnically I’m like 40% of the way through~.

It might be a little over-ambitious, but I kind of want to print it out and make a hard-copy when I’m done. I’m not sure about what the demand would be if I were to sell it, but I definitely want to print it for myself first and foremost (after touching up the earlier updates of course LOL). It’d be like a physical representation of my achievement. I hope I can make it there.

Anyways, I’ve rambled for far too long. I’m not sure why I suddenly felt like talking about uh, everything but yeaaaah. If you’ve read this far, kudos to you! You now have a window into my soul that I’m still not sure if I’m comfortable with revealing (but I’m comfortable enough because I’m posting this so...)!

After reading all of this, can you tell why I always get so so happy after each update? It’s the fruition of what’s usually 2-3 weeks of non-stop hard work! Seeing people connect with it always sends me to another realm of bliss and I always feel soft like putty LOL.

𝐉𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐃𝐈𝐃 𝐀 𝐁𝐀𝐃 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆 . . . but i don’t regret the thing that i did !! hello all, i’ve been keeping this under wraps for the past few days but on a whim i’ve decided to bring on my second ( and last, i promise ) muse for the ride !! with that being said, it is jada here, max’s mun, but this time i’m presenting to you the wonderful im nari !! she was my initial idea before max, but i loved her too much to get rid of her !! i’m so excited for her to be here and i really hope she’s well received as well !! i’ve been slow on his acc for the past few days, and she’s the reason why, but now that i’ve gotten my life ( mostly ) together & things are running just fine again !! anyways, her profile’s here, and below you can find some general trivia on her as well as connection ideas !! oh, and like this to plot !

𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐘 :

from damyang, south korea !! a v small agricultural town & was born into humble beginnings - a seamstress for a mom, and her dad a farmer !! so she lived on a small farm when she was younger and was raised with pigs, cows, and goats as pets !

she helped around the farm her whole time she lived home, so she has a lot of life skills t & knows all about caring for animals and tending the farm !

they weren’t well off by any means - they had a small income to spread thin between all those people - but they made it work !! she never felt truly slighted as she knew their situation, in fact in her own way, she was spoiled in the best way she could be given their predicament.

raised in a household full of boys - she’s the youngest w a family of 6 loud, rowdy boys.

so in a way she’s more of a tomboy, used to roughhousing and all her sibling’s antics !! she’s also used to doing a lot of heavy lifting around the farm so has surprising strength for her size.

on the other hand, being the youngest & only daughter has upped the girliness !! she’s used to being babied so knows all about acting cute & her mom was always using her as an experiment for all her clothes !! was raised on handmade dresses her mom made in all sorts of intricate patterns & loved it !!

has been an actress in the making for a g e s !!! it all started when she was a really young kid, her mom would let her watch the tv in the tailor shop so she’d have something to do while her mom was at work !!

so there was this drama “a rolling hills romance” ( which i TOTALLY made up lmao !! ) that she absolutely loooved !! it was about a farm romance and was one of the only ones she saw that wasn’t taking place in the city !! it just got her in love with acting in general though, she’d eventually memorize scenes from all the dramas she’d watch and recite them out of the blue !!!

eventually it got her into theatre acting, which was her favorite !! she started watching broadway shows from abroad, memorizing the songs even though she didn’t always know what they were saying. but she just loooved the whole thing, and when she was in middle school she joined her school’s theatre department !

this is where the majority of her english skills came into play - she would memorize the lyrics, and though she didn’t really know what they were saying after a while she began to understand some words !! so while her pronunciation is pretty good from mimicking actors, she lacks the vocab to really use it !!

so she’s really hesitant to speak in english, because if people hear her speak they think she’s a lot more fluent than she is & it lands her in awkward situations !! so she mainly just ... doesn’t do that lol !!

i can’t believe i forgot this when i first wrote this !! this is a very vital part of her character omg !! her first “acting debut” if you could call it that was for a chocolate commercial when she was 8 !! basically she was in this christmas commercial for peppermint chocolates that got on tv and everyone in her town went crazy !! she like goes and delivers these chocolates while singing jingle bells and it’s wholesome and cute and swet !! it wasn’t that big at all lol but for their small town it was, and to them she’s a sort of small celebrity for it !! i’m sure some people might remember the commercial but notlike .... her yk ?? because that was her first and last role for a while lol !!

anyways !! she’s always been self-conscious of her looks - she felt like she wasn’t pretty enough, and limited her confidence. so at 16 she got 2 part-time jobs to begin saving up money, and at 17 she went to seoul to get a nose job & jaw reduction surgery.

and things seemed to be great after that !! she was confident, gaining more friends, but the real excitement came when her mom read online about an audition for legacy and jokingly asked if she wanted to do it.

legacy had never even be on her radar !! she had always heard her friends talk about them for idols, but she had never thought of them as a company that accepted actresses. upon reading though, she was hooked !! she begged her parents, and they originally rejected the idea because they thought it was one of her phases. however, after much persuasion, they allowed her to attend auditions !!

she never expected to get in, she wanted to do it more as an experience than anything. but to say it was a shock was an understatement !! but she was so so incredibly happy.

had a hard time adjusting initially - she was only 17, and almost right after getting there she had to spend her birthday alone since she hadn’t made any friends yet. and although she’s naturally outgoing, it was really hard for her to be social at first because she was surrounded by so many more people than she was used to !!

for the past few years nari’s been doing general idol training, though that’s about to change !! she’s significantly improved her dance skills ( which were nearly nonexistent prior to training ) & gotten a lot better at her singing !! but her heart’s still deep into acting, and she knows that she wants to do that as well as some modeling !

she still suffers a lot with her self confidence, and there’s a lot of pressure for her to do well ! in school, because she’s the first of her family to go to university, and as a trainee, because she’s risked so much for it & doesn’t want to disappoint since her family has v high expectations for her !

𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘 :

a little lovebug !! she’s literally so loving and accepting of everyone - definitely, someone you can come to talk out any issues, she listens & provides support, free of any judgement !! also v keen on skinship i apologize in advance

she’s come out of her shell a lot since she got to seoul, but she’s still a little shy if she doesn’t know you well or is put in a situation w a lot of people !! pls be patient with her ^^

like max, she’s got a lot of energy in that little body !! but she actually has adhd so a lot of it isn’t really by choice. it frustrates her a lot because it limits her focus & has the tendency to make her restless. it was worse when she was younger, but has gotten better as she’s gotten older and she takes medicine to keep everything in check.

she’s also got v low self-confidence, she’s never been satisfied with herself and constantly wants to get better !! despite the surgeries, she’s still got a lot of insecurities both physically and not, but keeps them bottled up a lot bc she doesn’t want to burden others !! ( i want to shake her !! ) bc of that, she takes both criticism & compliments very seriously, she’ll turn all red if someone gives her the smallest compliment but will also overanalyze & judge herself if she gets critiqued.

in fact her surgery’s almost made her more self-conscious, as she now feels that all the opportunities granted to her are because of her looks post-surgery. the worst insult she could get was she’s only succeeding because of her looks, because she’s worked so hard on her skills and she wants them to be what takes her forward, not something she had to pay to get.

despite that, she’s the true definition of a happy virus !! on the outside, she’s almost always smiling, and when all the other stuff doesn’t get in the way, she is on the inside too !! always trying to look on the optimistic side & give people a fresh perspective !

on that note she’s v childish, and sometimes she has to remind herself w younger trainees coming in she’s being seen as more of an example and needs to be ~serious~!!

the duality is real !! in performances, sad / angry scenes are actually her specialty, and right after she’ll just spring up and smile like what’s up guys !!! a lil creepy when she goes from sobbing to giggling so she’s learned to transition a little better lmao !!

she always wanted to be a youtuber, but never got the chance, and by the time she joined legacy she wasn’t allowed to have an account. so now she has these little vlogs she does to send her parents ! they’re mainly of her getting ready, hanging out with friends, and practicing ( all out of training hours, ofc ) so she can often be found seemingly talking to herself, even though she’s really recording videos !!

though being an idol wasn’t her initial dream, she adores the music. her love for the kpop genre has made the last few years more bearable, and girl crush concepts are her absolute favorite !! she’s been religiously keeping up w future dreams like she’s still just a fan back at home, and you’ll catch her humming all around the company building !!

in fact, prior to joining legacy, she had a fan blog for all her faves where she would provide commentary called ri raves !! it was ... a sight !!

she’s pansexual, and leaning towards girls !! it’s something she’s really shy about sharing bc of the fear of judgment, but if she tells you know you have all her trust !!

a little spoiled tbh !! she’s got the youngest child syndrome BAD, and since she was the only girl she’s used to things being done for her !! not in the bratty way, it’s just made her a little lazy and she loooooves attention and being doted on.

don’t let her appearance fool you though !! she’s got surprising strength ... strong woman do bong soon’s not her favorite show for no reason !!! all those years of defending herself from her brothers’ teasing had to come in handy, you know ?? we’ve got a black belt in hapkido here folks !!

definition of a theatre kid, starts bursting out into songs she loves out of nowhere omg it’s embarrassing ?? also overreacts about everything omg the world is on fire according to her !! she’s gotta faint dramatically !!!

she’s got the jeolla-do dialect, and prior to working on her standard dialect it was veeery prominent ! it makes her say a lot of words differently than someone from seoul might, and after realizing she was one of the only ones with it she’s been trying to make her speech sound more like standard korean nowadays.

she’s taken up sewing from her mom, and especially loves embroidery !! so she always loves upcycling & spicing her outfits up !!

definitely has a unique fashion sense because of it - in addition to that she’s very frugal, and favors thrifted clothing !! she’s got a mix of vintage, chic, and artsy style !

a rule follower !! veeery unlike max, she tends to stick to the rules out of fear of what will happen if she doesn’t, because she has way too much on the line to quit now !

The Resslington-fic that escalated like Hell but that I actually like to come back to and re-read. Also I got a few amazing comments for this one. And I put an enormous amount of work into it, so. ya i’m proud of these 22k words of suffering.

2. Denn die Welt ist leer (und ich habe den Himmel berührt) (German fic)

Okay this isn’t much of a fanfic actually since it’s an RPF feat. Klaas & Mark Tavassol (mainly Mark because i’m a slut for him), and also very weird and. I just like how it turnt out. Also it took me like a year to write. lots of work in these 27k words. Yeah and it has a few faults but I’m proud of what I’ve done with this and where this fic went. but i’m the only one tbh lol

3. Der Soldat und der Major (German fic) [ao3] [ff.de]

another German fic, this time it’s... Woyzeck fanfic. Just because I CAN. I’m really proud of the way I was able to pull off the dialogue here. I generally like the style? It’s weird (again) but. I’m here for that.

4. “Das Lied vom Fraternisieren” from Brecht’s Mutter Courage (Mother Courage)

Unfortunately I’m not allowed to share the video (because the Brecht-heirs are fcking assholes and I hope they choke on their principles), but last year I played Yvette in “Mutter Courage und ihre Kinder” (”Mother Courage and her children”), a drunk prostitute lamenting about how her life went. She has this awful song that I managed to pull off pretty well (the composer Dessau just doesn’t care if a song is singable or not, it just has to SOUND PRETTY, thanks man). (The song is not actually awful. Not when sung properly. Oh right i did that i’m lowkey highkey proud!!!) I’ve been thinking about putting another song from our musical theatre “exam” here but. i’m actually too anxious about it lololol hmu if you wanna hear it

5. i honestly have no idea anymore, uhhh.... i’ll put my current wip “love the dead” here because i’m already a lil proud of myself for this thing... should I ever finish it, rip. so ya, no link here either. yet.

Okay I honestly thought I’d find more favourite works? Wow. Bonus points for that flashlight-scene in Kleist’s Hermannsschlacht where I played Hermann, bc I actually liked how that turned out (still a few mistakes and things I should have done differently, but at least not the whole damn performance, lol). Not putting that here though bc I’m too lazy to cut that out of the original video file :0

Alrighty!

So a few days back, I did a CAS makeover of various families in Oasis Springs, and I didn't want to repeat what I did last time. And thus, picture splicing. Through Ibis Paint. It's fine, it worked. I first did Katrina Caliente as a bit of an experiment:

With Katrina's outfits, I wasn't really sure what I was going for. I don't have much of a connection to Katrina, but I tried to use her traits as somewhat of a guide. Her partywear is a dress from Perfect Patio that I'd never used, so I figured I could use it for her, and I think she looks nice in it.

By the way, in my game I saw that MC gave Katrina a bit of a story! She went off and got married to a grand master vampire named Colby Wynn (so now she’s Katrina Wynn), but before that she had a kid with Don named Samuel. Scandalous? Maybe not. Very interesting though. Now she lives across the road from the freakin Landgraabs. She’s living the high life now.

Nina:

One thing I thought was odd about Nina is that the chick got abs, even though if you have her clean a kitchen counter she's complaining due to her lazy trait. How and when did she get these abs?

At any rate, I decided with her athletic outfit that she would be dragged to the gym by Don or Dina (bc they're athletic or whatever) but all she would do is take pictures of herself in her leggings. Maybe make fun of someone falling on their face because she's like that. I do really like how she came out, though.

MC tried to make Nina a freelancer, but I didn’t think that suited her lifestyle, so I gave her a part time job in retail, which is probably perfect for her hot-headed and lazy traits.

Dina:

I also struggled with Dina a bit, but it was mainly because of her hair. I kept it short, but that meant that there weren't really a lot of options for her. I like to think about whether you could realistically have a hairstyle with a certain hair length, and since I very recently used to have hair that length, I knew that a bunch of hairstyles would be too long for how her hair is.

It would've been fine if I wasn't such a stickler for these kinds of things.

MC didn’t do anything with her, which was fine. I’m currently trying to have her pursue and complete her mixology aspiration. Right now she just needs to get a few more promotions and she’ll be fine. Except for that ‘make three drinks during a social event’ which I’m not so keen on. I rarely throw parties in The Sims (or at all really) because they’re so stressful and I’m too occupied with too many things. It’s not optimal. But I guess I’m gonna be doing that sometime soon.

Don:

I'll admit that I do not generally like Don Lothario as a character. The fact that, in The Sims 2, he would pee in the shower and leave puddles that he would never clean up was like a personal insult. How dare he.

In The Sims 4 though, Don just comes off as a bit more... Chad? I'm not sure if that's quite right, but his og hair reminds me of when I was in 5th grade and all the boys had their hair like that and they thought they were the fucking shit. They were not.

I dressed him with the main thought of "Yeah, he would dress like that," and it was fine. I'm not 100% sure about his everyday though. I might end up changing that later, but for now I'll keep it.

Part of me wanted to give Don the athletic career, but then I remembered how I filled the house with toddlers, so someone had to be at home. I had already given Dina and Nina jobs, and I still have the ‘Don Lothario does medicine’ idea stuck in my head from the Sims 2, so I put him in the freelance programming career, because I’ve never done that before.

I really haven’t dabbled with many of the careers, if I’m being honest. It’s probably because I keep jumping from save to save, so I don’t get around to finishing things. Oh well.

After that I just had to do the Landgraabs. I didn't include Nancy's athletic wear because it was basically the same as before- it was a white tracksuit, except now it doesn't have any orange on it. It's completely white except for her shoes.

Nancy:

My thought process for dressing Nancy was really vague. I wanted to keep that bright, crisp color palette that she has, but still incorporate that “I am not fucking around here” energy that I get from her. Don’t ask about the hair though. I really don’t know what I was going with there. Sometimes I select hairs thinking ‘lol I never use these’ and then I end up having the Sim use it, and that’s what happened with Nancy. I’m not sure she really deserved it, but it’s gonna have to be fine.

I also kept out a picture of Geoffrey, but it was his sleepwear. I didn't have a problem with it, so I kept it.

Geoffrey:

As far as Geoffrey's new outfits go, I feel like I was going for a very "grandpa" look for him, and it made me think about the dynamic that Geoffrey and Nancy would have. I used to think that Nancy was this powerhouse that would stop at nothing to get what she wants, including the law, and that Geoffrey would just be quietly standing by trying to raise Malcolm to be a respectable Sim (which he is not), but from looking at other people's stories, I feel like Geoffrey would be 100% aware of Nancy's criminal aspirations, and would mostly (with his experience as a Secret Agent) make sure that anything going on in his family would be kept on the down-low.

Because he married into the Landgraab family. It's not like he held the Landgraab legacy and Nancy's ambition and drive won him over and she married into it. He knowingly married into the family, for whatever reason. Did he want the financial stability? I mean, that always helps. I still think that he would want Malcolm to be successful, earn a degree in something (knowing Malcolm it'd probably be Villainy) and raise a family of his own, but Geoffrey isn't stupid.

I imagine that he would like it if him and Nancy had a better relationship with Johnny, seeing as he's their son too, but you can't have everything.

Malcolm:

Finally, at the end of everything, we have Malcolm Landgraab. If his outfits don't scream "prep rich boy", then I did something wrong, because that was 100% what I was going for. He doesn't have enough muscle to be like a "frat boy" or something, but if you caught him in his athletic wear, you would just know that it's worth more money than you'll make in a year, and he has at least three of them that all look the same.

With his everyday, I was keeping in mind that story from Geoffrey wanting Malcolm to be successful and pursue uni. Clearly he would be in Foxbury, because to be in Britechester would be a deeper disgrace than Johnny straying from the Landgraab path. Do you really think Nancy can make another heir now? There's some pressure on Malcolm for sure.

I’m back with tiny details to help all your theories uwu, more of notes than theories

there’s are two moons: the one on the left is the colour of the sky and is fading, whereas the one on the right is tinted pink/red/purple and has a clear silhouette***

the plate of the City Jungle bus (w/their signature lion logo) has AD2540*** skip to the end to see my revelation :)

skz’s truck thing has B2Y1017 and a tiger symbol on the driver’s side door

I didn’t come up w/this but 1017 is probably a reference to October 2017, when Hellevator was posted

****if so, then the B2Y could be referencing the Greek letters here, or maybe “Back to You”? maybe that’s how they’re confirming that they’ll go back to the hell elevator or bujakyong i guess lol

connecting to smth I mentioned in my first analysis: the tiger in a Korean legend wasn’t able to persevere and become human, whereas the bear was. Maybe it’s symbolism they couldn’t go on w/o ditching the truck at the end?

RANDOM ROAD TRIP STUFF

I won’t go deep into this bc other people have better theories, but if Hyunjin was worried abt them being watched, then it makes sense that he’d try to stop Felix from making them obvious or getting hurt (which then they’d need to find someone to help him)

also Peach pointed out that the older members go to Hyunjin, and the younger ones go to Seungmin owo

when the gui percents reach 99%, they break the gate blocking their way

the city in the sky

obviously, the city in the sky is the City Jungle, and being in the sky (cloud 9-esque maybe??) keeps them away from the mostly-abandoned Yellow Wood floor

the lightning probably shows the true face of the City Jungle (go figure)

they all run away from search lights? So they were found again, but also how did they end up back here????

THEORIES: the bible, the login, and Reflection

NOTE: the only theory that’s possibly accurate is reflection lol so you can skip down

If you read my previous 2 analyses/note posts, you know I’ve been curious about reflections and Bible references. Admittedly, I don’t think the bible stuff will be as prominent (bc it’s religious), but the reflection stuff will probably be focused on.

THE BIBLE

As I said, this stuff likely isn’t accurate, but it would fit really well if they decide to go this route!! It started with the cross earrings/necklaces in previous comebacks (mainly worn by Hyunjin), the fact Hellevator is HELLevator, and when skz runs together at 3:18 (in Side Effects), they form a cross, with Hyunjin up front.

I’ve also mentioned some bible verses that I found using numbers in the mvs (note that I use the New International Version to quote anything). Most of the ones were mostly irrelevant though. Other people have brought up in another theory that “AD” on the licence plate AD2540 could reference Anno Domini which could mean this was happening in the future, but I double-checked bible verses again.

Book of Matthew, 25:40 = “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’”

This section is about the King who has separated his “sheep” (those who have done good) to the right and “goats” (those who haven’t done good) to the left. The king says the sheep have done good things for him, but the sheep say they didn’t do those things to him specifically. This verse is referencing that the king knows they have done good to another person, and therefore him.

Obviously, if this were actually what skz were going for, they probably would’ve referenced the actual verse where the king separates his sheep and goats, but regardless, it does bring up the question: where else have we seen left and right, where one is bad?

We’ve seen it a few times: the two roads taken shown side by side when they take the bus or don’t, the two moons, and possibly skz vs the City Jungle.

THE LOGIN

Hyunjin, the “error” (other people’s posts go more in depth), is a focal point in this mv. We’ve also heard about “glitches” Jisung and Felix. So who can disprove that they’re just in a computer? (Jk but listen)

The yellow gui (and other code screens in Miroh) suggest we’re monitoring them. Or maybe the gui is in Hyunjin’s brain?? But I do know the percentages mirror what skz are doing (when they break the gate at 99%) and the screen goes yellow before smth bad happens (which is usually stuff Hyunjin notices).

There also seems to be an error in the code… idk how to explain this well, but the “error” might actually be planned. (I’ll make another post to clarify.)

REFLECTION

I mentioned in my 1st post that the lineup of skz on the rooftops in Miroh and the Yellow Wood teaser were mirrored, except 2 members switched with the 2 right next to them (Jeongin/Minho switched and Jisung/Hyunjin switched—did Hyunjin become the glitch at that point?). This might be a coincidence since it isn’t exact mirroring.

Anyway, there’s definitely some reference to reflection, because of the yellow gui! It might just be a nod to smth but hm. This is where I just dump some ideas

As I said in the Bible paragraphs, there’s references to left/good and right/bad. So reflection could reference:

people you thought were good are actually bad and vice versa (reference to Hyunjin, Jisung, and Felix maybe?)

the choice that’s on the left is good and the right is bad (getting on the bus was a good choice, which technically it was bc they’re sleeping peacefully) or the other way around

The moon on the right is “bad” (discoloured), but maybe actually the better one once reflected

You can also consider our left is their right, but that’s just confusing lol

Honestly, none of these seem right, but the gui is telling someone (likely just us tho) that smth is being reflected, and maybe not in a good way, since we aren’t seeing things the right way, or we’re seeing the bad parallel.

After watching episode 10 of the reboot what's your interpretation of Shigure's character? What do you think his goals and intentions could be?

hi and thanks for the ask anon!

because of the way i am (an extreme overthinker) i’ll be unnecessarily extra with this response since i don’t know anything about your relationship with the series. i really don’t want to spoil anything in the case that you’re new to it entirely / watched the 2006 version but didn’t read the manga, but i still want to give my honest thoughts. i’ll put all things spoiler-y under a line break! i’ll also put tl;drs under each response in case my ranting is nothing like what you wanted to hear lol

so the good things is that whether someone’s fresh to the series or not, episode 10 of the reboot is definitely a plot twist even for viewers of the original furuba. i used to watch that show all the time as a kid and i remember the valentine’s day episode being something completely different–it was treated more as a side story featuring other members of the sohma family and was a way to expand more on tohru’s giving personality + throw in a lot of laughs, while in the 2019 version, it was a continuation of the ongoing plot that revealed more about kyo’s self-perception (especially in comparison to yuki), shigure’s darker motivations on integrating tohru into the sohma clan’s life, and still included some of the funny antics of the family (although much less gag-heavy than the 2006 version which was so nice).

i had actually never read the manga until right before the reboot aired since my younger self was always fine with just going off the old anime (read: i was lazy) so had a younger me seen shigure’s scene in this episode i would have genuinely been shocked because it would have been the first indication of him ever having malicious intentions whatsoever.

in the earlier episodes of the 2019 reboot it is shown that the usually fun and mischievous shigure can be serious and be the authoritative adult in the room (compared to his old anime version which was nothing but a jokester with a soft heart), but in episode 10 shigure was shown to be manipulative and cruel. the second mainly because of that scene where he prodded kyo in what could have been seen as a tough-love-trying-to-be-a-mentor-and-show-you-something-about-yourself-you-didn’t-know, but came off as a somewhat sadistic move to make kyo squirm and be uncomfortable for no reason.

shigure’s scene with hatori (LOVED THIS MOMENT) hints a bit at what his long term goal is. hatori helps the viewer get that both akito and shigure are scheming to take advantage of tohru’s relationships with the family (presumably kyo and yuki specifically since she’s closest to both of them and kyo was referenced a few seconds earlier by shigure in this same scene). shigure fills in more gaps by referencing something that happened when he, hatori, and aya (*SPOILER IF YOU’RE NEW* aka ayame who was revealed in the og anime) were all younger.

we the audience can tell by the wistful nature of shigure’s monologue (which i absolutely adored and made multiple posts out aha) that something about that vision stirred up feelings of affection inside him–feelings that his older self realized were a form of love. this love turned into an obsession (lol), and shigure seems dead set on satisfying this addictive yearning by obtaining said love.

the scene with akito at the end, and shigure’s internal thoughts that followed indicate that this eternal love lies with akito. going solely off the earlier dialogue, one might assume that either he’s going to do everything in his power to physically have akito in his grasp (aka have them be in his possession so he never has to fear anyone taking them away from him), or he will try to manipulate akito into reciprocating his feelings–or maybe even both!

tl;dr (spoiler-free) shigure, based off some mysterious premonition he had when he was younger, is utterly obsessed with the sohma clan head and will do everything he can to make them “his” (perhaps not exactly monopolizing them but definitely at least having akito acknowledge and return his feelings). he’s observed how tohru’s good nature has been affecting the two young sohmas under his roof and plans to use their relationship to his advantage in the politics of this mysterious af family, hopefully outwitting the family head as well. hatori is not a fan of this plan at all and shigure agrees that it’s terrible but he’s like well “i’m a trash person anyways!” so he doesn’t mind. the only indication that he does feel like his plans are morally wrong are when tohru offers him chocolate as well and he realizes that her charitable nature is endless and that she truly is just a good kid.

*** i have no idea of whether or not you’ll be able to read under the fold anon so i’ll put the end of this (v long) answer here: hope you got something out of my interpretation and enjoy the rest of furuba! always feel free to reach out about whatever ***

so for whatever reason, be it a warped personality or pure infatuation, young shigure actually responded positively to the dream he and the other sohmas had when they became tied to akito through their zodiac spirits’ default loyalty. he actually aims to preserve that feeling of absolute belonging with akito, claiming them as his most beloved.

i found this tragically beautiful tbh bc shigure was the sole sohma to transform something that caused the rest of the family pain into something that brought him fulfillment. loving something is a very powerful thing and he made it so that he would always be by akito’s side in terms of his loyalties. (which is incredibly kind considering her own tragic circumstances–she has done terrible things but was raised under abuse herself and was isolated from the rest of reality.) i found it sad because he was in unrequited love for years but was stubborn to his ultimate end goal resulting in a back-and-forth relationship of manipulation/ monopolization/sex revenge with akito when someone else would have just given up on the possibility of the relationship working out. i almost used the term “sane person” but while shigure may have an insidious nature, his love for akito isn’t insane, yes it’s toxic but he actually did fall in love with her, it wasn’t unfound and coming from nowhere.

he’s seen how tohru has managed to get kyo and yuki to look at the bigger picture in terms of their relationships with people in general as well as how they see themselves as pets of the sohma name. he himself enjoys her balm-like effect on people (being part of a hellish household probably makes a sweet girl who does everything to care for others whether that be through chores, food, or cheering up seem like an absolute saint), but he–and akito–know that having a card around to mess with the workings of the sohma clan is all too important to have. especially since shigure’s main intent is to overthrow everything the family is about, not to be a part of the “good morals brigade”, but to get a hold of the person he wants to have so dearly.

he knows that akito is aware of his attraction, that doesn’t mean she understands the sincere love behind it. she sees it as an effect of their zodiac relationship/part of her delusion that the sohmas are all pawns to fend off her loneliness and prove she hasn’t been abandoned. if akito weren’t the emperor and was just akito the person, then shigure might have a chance of slipping in and making his dream a reality.

tl;dr (based on spoilers) shigure has had a bad case of puppy love for years and wants to milk tohru’s budding relationship with the sohmas to help his plans of destroying what the family is all about (blood feuds and lots and lots of drama), perhaps even ending the curse (i say perhaps bc i can’t think off the top of my head whether or not in the manga shigure did try to plan to break the curse on the whole family–i’m leaning no but my head is fuzzy on this rn). all this so that he can not only hold akito in his arms, but her love in his hands, so she’s truly “his” to have.

What inspired you to try/create that muse/s: well , if you’ve been with me long enough then you know that tooru started out as an AU ! o.ikawa t.ooru, where instead of attending s.eijou , he went to s.hiratorizawa ! to be honest , i kind of just wanted to try my hand at writing that kind of thing ? it was the very first time i had made a tumblr rp blog , so i had no idea that people rp different verses of the same character on one blog !! i originally rp’d on deviantart , and it was very commonplace to have different blogs for different verses ... i had over 70 rp blogs on there and most of them were literally the same 2 characters but in different AUs LMAO ... so imagine my surprise when i saw people rp’ing different AUs on one blog ... RP’ing multiple muses on one blog ... !! but i kinda just stayed with my iteration instead of playing canon ! kawa anyway , since i didn’t really see the point in starting over . as tooru developed more , though , i began to use him as a venting tool because this was a part of my life where i was really depressed . but as time grew on and i eventually made him into an OC , he became a much happier character . he really is my best friend ; he’s been there for me through it all , and even though he’s just fictional , i really owe him a lot for helping me out during rough times .

What is inspiration for that muse/s: well , currently , a lot of things ... lots of music , japanese culture + religion , and also my own experiences . in general , i have a p.interest board for him , so ... maybe you could say i draw inspiration from that , too ! i also rly enjoy the band MILI . their songs really fit tooru , like ‘ bathtub mermaid ’ . i’ve also been listening to hello , again and am planning on drawing something based on it for him ( + the song’s prequel , “ goodbye ” ) . i mainly tend to daydream while listening to songs , so ... yeah . as for characters who serve as inspiration for tooru ... well , i think that’s an artist meme , so i might just fill it in in lieu of answering this properly lol ... but two i can think of off the top of my head are leon from f.ire e.mblem e.choes and n.eferpitou from h.xh !

Thread/AU that made you really happy: B.NHA AU ... !! i’m hyperfixating sm on that one ... idk , a lot of planning and plotting goes into it , esp since a lot of my mutuals are in the fandom . in particular , i love love love the story i’ve created with @noquirk . i literally cannot envision a more perfect plot for tooru in this verse . heck , it’s literally my main go - to timeline when i draw / write for it . tooru is , quite literally , not very much in this AU without deck .

Something really special on your wishlist: sh ... more ships ... ships to draw and animate and make animatics to ... also i need to get my butt into gear and finish my JRPG AU group lol .

Something you are looking for in short future for your muse: blease tooru help me get thru the school year ... also i have some animatics in the back burner so i’m looking forward to getting those done !

Share something related to your muse!: his canon story , in parallel motion , deals with existentialism and alternate universes . ultimately , it’s a story that serves as a physical manifestation of my own struggle with depression , and while it’s sombre in tone , i want it to tell whoever’s reading it , “ you matter . ” it’s why tooru is placed into so many marginalized groups ; he’s fat and trans and biracial and bi and suffers from bpd + depression + anxiety but he’s a good person through it all ... his story is tragic because he’s not allowed to exist and will be forgotten when he dies , but his existence impacts so many other characters’ lives ... it’s a butterfly effect kind of thing . because you exist , you’ve made so many peoples’ lives better . and i understand it’s rough and i understand depression + sucky real life aspects try to convince you otherwise , but just ... think about it . there’s an alternate universe where , because you don’t exist , something huge was probably impacted . and even on a smaller , more intimate scale --- if you hadn’t existed in another life , then one of your friends might not be here . they might not be as happy as they are now , because you make them happy . life can be awful . but it’s wonderful and beautiful , too . that’s what i want tooru to be to others . someone to look up to and relate to , and someone who tells you , “ it’s okay ! ”

What do you think about character’s design/how do you came up with this: he’s ... kinda generic LOL mainly cause he’s based off of o.ikawa looks - wise due to his origin ... but part of his looks also derivate from an old ask blog muse i had :

i just really like that bangs - over - one - eye hairstyle ngl ... also i have no idea how / when his hair became maroon - brown since o.ikawa’s hair is chestnut brown , but ... yeah . also have no idea when he gained red eyes HDKJSFS,,,, i find fangs appealing on a character though , so that’s why he has fangs and does the :3c ... honestly i think i kinda just slapped together what i like in a design and put it on him , so even though he may look like an NPC ( lol ) , he’s still appealing in my eyes .

Orange bc my dad is extra and went overboard when decorating one day

It’s okay to be selfish since at the end of the day the only person you’re stuck with is yourself.

15. Who’s your bias and why?

Assuming this means my ultimate bias, I’m gonna say Kim Namjoon because I see a lot of myself in him. (This is going to be long. Feel free to skip lol) He is someone who was expected to graduate at the top of his class and go into some boring office job and make as much money as he could but he said no. He refused to let himself be swallowed by the oppressive, demanding society where everyone is expected to be lawyers or doctors that South Korea developed. He recognized the faults of the system and fought against it through music. Yeah, he was aggressive and a bit cringey at first but that just makes him seem all the more real to me. I was the same way: trying to prove myself and be accepted. But he pushed through it and grew up. He matured and realized that that’s not who he is or who he wants to be. He’s an amazing leader and an amazing rapper and musician. He constantly out does himself and leaves me in awe each and every time he does something. Joon is also the guy who is expected to act one way but turns around and does the complete opposite while still being true to himself. Many people expect him to be all badass and tough when in reality he’s the type to scrunch up his nose and scream when something cute is happening. This man literally has his room filled with Ryan plushies and merch. He wears matching Ryan pajamas and yelled out of happiness when he was given a Ryan cake. He’s expected to not be affected by cliché scenes in dramas but screams and kicks his feet when he sees Jimin acting like a fuckboy with an older woman in an acting scene. Joon is the guy that everyone laughs at (lovingly of course) instead of laughing with him and he accepts it, letting everyone have their fun. Namjoon isn’t confident but he’s working on it. He’s trying to love himself and is constantly giving ARMY and Bangtan everything he has. Kim Namjoon is truly the biggest inspiration to me and if I knew him in real life, there’s no doubt that I’d actually be in love with him to the point where it’d pain me.

16. Are you the kind of friend you would want to have? If so, why?

I mean kinda? I’m a great listener and would love to play therapist if you ever need it but I’m also someone who likes to shut herself out from the world days at a time.

17. When you’re in a bad mood, do you prefer being alone or being with friends?

I’m never angry but I get sad a lot which is where I’d prefer being alone even if I know I’m only going to get myself sadder.

18. If you could start over, what would do differently?

I would try to not care so much. In my younger days, I would worry about everything and anything. That developed me into the person I am today: someone I’m not very proud of.
