i think i started shipping them like welllll after their fight, but honestly i cant remember what got me to ?? there were a couple rlly good fics i read for them, so that might've done it :))

but idk, i just rlly love their dynamic !! even outside of shipping, i feel like they would have an interesting friendship, because they're both stark personalities, but i think they could find some common ground even in those differences (and i think gray would definitely mellow wolf out a bit lol)

also if they’ve ever said what they read? think I read that Jack says he likes to read (sports books maybe?) in his spare time and one in of Ellen’s interviews she talks about reading (to them?) and somewhere else about how she was super involved in their academics

luke's intended major was also sports management. he was taking a business management class and fumbled his part on a group project when he signed with the devils. he took a greek sports history class and talked about how he doesn't love school but he likes history here (worth listening to imo) and he also enjoyed history of college athletics. luke actually took an online college class before officially starting at umich

"I'm taking an online chemistry class to get it off my plate. I wake-up and do two hours of that and then I go and work out with [trainer] Brian Gallivan and then I skate and then just chill by the pool and hang out. It's been nice."

jack likes reading sports books as said here, specifically Eleven Rings: The Soul of Success and Three-Ring Circus: Kobe, Shaq, Phil, and the Crazy Years of the Lakers Dynasty. The Mamba Mentality: How I Play was on his reading list in high school. he also talks about books here

Craig: The other thing that (Williams) said was reading. He said you’re asking for book recs. We’re looking for book recs. We’re big readers. Jack: Yeah, you guys got any? I dunno. (I’m tired of) everything on my phone, social media, things like that — and I never went to college, so you gotta get smarter somehow. Craig: Are you a fiction guy? Are you a self-improvement guy? What do you find yourself gravitating towards? Jack: I read a lot of sports books. “Eleven Rings,” by Phil Jackson. Also, “Greenlights” by Matthew McConaughey. So for me, you do things that you enjoy or you- you teach them things that you feel like you can teach them, Right. So it's kind of a slight on me that I wasn't more worldly and wanting to take them to museums. Or maybe like I felt like I had do those things because like, ‘Oh my God, what am I teaching them?’ But you tend to do the things that you - you're trying to find activities. Jimmy was off coaching a lot, I had three young boys that were really close in age. So what do I know? What can I do to pass time and keep them active? It was kicking a soccer ball. It was throwing a ball, it was doing rollerblading, it was passing the puck, it was taking them skating. So for me, those were mommy and me activities, right? And then every once in a while I'd be like, you know, I'd be like, ‘uh, we got to do Kumon, we gotta do like - we gotta read.’ You know, academics was really important to me because I felt like I was so driven the other way that like, I didn’t want to miss out on the other. So for us, it was never this grandiose plan, and I'm sure you guys were the same way. It was more like, ‘be the best at whatever it is you're doing, work your hardest at whatever it is you're doing.’ Working the hardest didn't mean scoring the most goals. It was playing the right way, whatever it is, being a great teammate and working really, really hard and we always felt like the other would come.

other potentially interesting notes, jack was an honor roll student in 8th grade, and quinn agreed he was the best at school when they were younger, so it's funny he's the one who didn't end up going to college. ellen's brother is actually the president of denison university and they have some pretty academic cousins also.

lmaooo. one of the things scrolling through your blog has taught me is that i definitely need to start listening to other girl k pop groups besides blackpink and itzy. any recs?

I would be more than happy to provide you with some recommendations! I'm going to recommend some of my favorite groups, and then I'll add some personalized recommendations since you listen to Blackpink and Itzy! 😀

I don't think I could recommend Dreamcatcher enough to anyone, but I'm usually pretty cautious in doing so. I'll be frank - if you're not a fan of rock music, you probably won't vibe with their title tracks and that's completely okay! I was raised on 80s rock so believe me when I say that I couldn't get enough of Dreamcatcher when I first got into them. I'd recommend listening to Fly High, Scream, or BEcause first - these title tracks are more non-stan friendly, meaning that they appeal to a larger audience than people who love and adore Dreamcatcher's music already.

Purple Kiss is an interesting case, at least to me. Although they only have four title tracks, it's pretty easy to see they have a certain duality to them. There's a more sensual and mysterious side of them that is explored through tracks like Ponzona and Memem, and then we have the side which can be best described as Monster High meets K-pop. That side includes tracks like Zombie and Nerdy, which are both of the ones that I would recommend to you!

PIXY is a lore-based group that surrounds the story of six fairies, who are represented by the members. I'll be honest- I'm not super familiar with the lore, but I do know that it has something to do with the fairies getting a pair of wings for a witch so they can have wings themselves. Their newest comeback may seem like a total 180 from their original concept, but there are definitely references to the lore that even I, someone who is not that into the lore, ended up getting. All of their title tracks - Wings, Let Me Know, Addicted, and Villain - are easy listens, which makes it easy to get into the group.

Aespa is a group that you've already probably heard a lot about, so I'll keep this section short. When I first listened to the group, I was a part of a select group that was like, "I did not know hyperpop was a thing, but man, do I really like it!" Girls and Black Mamba are my favorite tracks, plus the whole Savage mini album is worth a listen because of how good it is.

3ye is a group that I'd recommend to anyone who likes Blackpink. There's only three members in the group, so it's easy to get into the group. Their main concept is girl crush, although a lot of their fans refer to it as "woman crush" due to how strong their concept is. Stalker and Yessir are my favorite title tracks by far, and I'd give them a listen if you like girl crush songs!

Weki Meki are known for their teen crush concept, just like Itzy! Crush and Cool are two of their songs that are as teen crush as it gets, but songs like Picky Picky, Oopsy, and Dazzle Dazzle help push the borders of what teen crush truly is.

AESPA's themes is all about power and confidence. AESPA's aesthetic has always been supernatural or at least unique and eccentric. ARMAGEDDON is not a different breed, but the debut studio album expresses this theme and aesthetic like a whole new game, might as well be better.

AESPA's is not the least unknown in the k pop industry. they made hits like BLACK MAMBA, SAVAGE, and most notably DRAMA which reached international recognition. they even have a song for the soundtrack a film about TETRIS, even it is a hit. the concept around AESPA is about the virtual world. their group's name, AESPA, combines the english initials for "avatar" and "experience" with the english word "aspect", meaning "two sides", to symbolize the idea of "meeting another self and experiencing the new world".

we can split the already 30 minutes-short album ARMAGEDDON into two halves. the first half of the album are tracks are electro dance pop songs, ending at LICORICE. its cool and very danceable. this production style has always been a part of aespa's discography, and the track really boldens that, even more creatively. from BAHAMA so forth we get a calmer and fun tune. i like AESPA's songs that focus more on vocals, it shows a lot of talent in them. the girl quartet can really express beautiful ballad melodies just like in MELODY, the last track of the album. this makes the album experience wide in genre. yet this idea is still not really reasonable to be necessary. i believe there is another approach which can make the album better.

overall, ARMAGEDDON feels like a completed and well polished album but it still has taste of dullness in it with room to improve. yet it is still a very matured and great start to this up and coming group.

underrated gem(s): LICORICE, BAHAMA - song of the summer fr, MELODY - the key change may make people feel overwhelmed but im fine bc they ate the whole ballad performance UP.

tracks that i rec listening: SUPERNOVA, ARMAGEDDON, SET THE TONE, LIVE MY LIFE.

worst track: PROLOGUE - this is such a basic song man.

overall score 7/10 - this is all opinion so pls no hate
