The Colonists, aka “OMFG my head is exploding”, The Boardgame. It says on the tin that it’s epic, and they really aren’t kidding. I played this earlier in the year at KublaCon - just the 1 era basic game - and thought it was intriguing, but I wasn’t ready to shell out for it, so I’ve been keeping my eyes open for a used copy and finally snagged one. It’s a very traditional Lookout game of producing and converting commodities in a value pyramid, but the board layout adds a crazy level of complexity once you play a couple eras. There is just so much going on here. It theoretically supports 4 players but I think you’d be nuts to play it with more than 2. I’m enjoying enjoying exploring and struggling with the game’s complexity, but I don’t know how much it will have to recommend it long term (or even medium term). #bgg #boardgamegeek #boardgames #lookoutspiele #mayfairgames
