Something that's really irritating me about the Off-White doll is that when you look at the concept art, she has 0 monster features aside from her green skin. Her monster type was such an after thought, and that's why its so poorly reflected in her design. Like she's supposed to be a fish (I think) where are her scales? Where are her fins? For such an expensive doll, I expected more than just a reused face mold, and a very easily recognizable one at that.

Her concept art really looks like a pale Casta Fierce. And honestly, I would probably like her more if that was the direction they took. Instead of being completely new, lazily designed characters, they could have done something like "Casta Fierce modelling for Off-Fright" or something, and added a witchy twist to the actual Off-White look. I mean, it would still be grossly overpriced, but I guarantee she'd sell better, especially considering Casta only ever got one doll. And it would've been SO PERFECT for an October Friday the 13th release.

Some scrapped G1 concepts from Garrett Sander's panel at Powercon2023!

Apparently for the Fright-Mares 6 inch doll line they were considering toying with the idea of bug monsters but it was ultimately scrapped.

The line up with Deuce, Draculaura, and Frankie looks like additions to Home Ick that didn't make it into the line.

Casta Fierce and Catty Noir are pictured here as concepts for the Fierce Rockers dolls but Casta was cut from the line. Apparently Catty and Casta were originally going to be a duo going by Shattered Spells!

Deuce with a snakehawk that looks like his first original concept art one.

And I'm not sure what Frankie this is by the lockers but I think she is from the scrapped casketball game sports line up.

The downside of the way that old posts still circulate on tumblr is that you'll draw a concept for a character before the characters official design comes out except then your old concept is still getting notes and you just have to hope that people realise it's from before the official design came out and that you aren't trying to redesign it because you actually really like it

i'm so freaking sad that i stopped liking dolls before ever after high came out because i know i would've loved them at the time. like there's no way in hell i ever could've convinced by parents to get me monster high dolls back then, (my mom still doesn't like that i collect them now that i have my own money,) but i feel like i could've persuaded them into maybe getting apple or darling for me.
