I am neither good, nor bad, neither angel nor devil, I am a man, I am a Vampire ~ Michael Romkey
vampires are the most famous of monsters, you see them everywhere with their shining fangs, red eyes, and they are meant to be the most beautiful of creatures. they are essentially the children of night, predators that draw you in like sirens from the ocean. So beware..vampires may be everywhere
i hope u like it <3

My goals lately:
Finish reading “Frankenstein” by Mary Shelley.
Finish reading “I, Vampire” by Michael Romkey.
Finish going through “On Writing Horror”.
Read “The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein” by Kiersten White.
Go through “On Writing Romance”.
Read “The Vampire Papers” by Michael Romkey.
Read “Dracula” by Bram Stoker (at some point).
Read “The Vampire Princess” by Michael Romkey.
Read “The Vampire Virus” by Michael Romkey.
Read “The Stand” by Stephen King.
Read “The Watchers” by Dean Koontz.
Read “Salem’s Lot” by Stephen King.
Read “Vampire Hunter” by Michael Romkey.
Read “The London Vampire Panic” by Michael Romkey.
Attempt reading through the rest of the recommended reading list in “On Writing Horror”.
Read “Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” by Robert Louis Stevenson.
And eventually get through 10 or so books I got for Christmas last year (which includes “Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter” and “The Last American Vampire”). Maybe find a book on writing fantasy. And while doing all of this reading, working on writing too. And there’s several books I want to try getting to help with writing.
I didn’t think I was busy until I realized all this reading I plan on doing XD
Trying to get through Romkey’s series first because my library only has 1 copy of each of his books it looks like and I think all of them are in the main library’s storage in the basement. So before they get rid of them...
And I have fantasy titles written down that I want to look into, and I want to read the Game of Thrones books.
And I’m actually getting curious about “It”, which is shocking (note: I HATE CLOWNS).
The urge to dive into horror in general (rather than sticking with vampires) didn’t hit until this year. All because I wanted to write a dark fantasy with vampires and zombies.

#NRBChallenge Day 4- Yadda, Yadda, Yadda The Vampire princess by Michael Romkey is a book I have read but don't remember. Which is interesting, because according to Goodreads, I loved it. Gave it 5 stars. Huh. #bookstagram #books

Reading this description of a lady (who I know to be a vampire, thanks to context clues and also vague memories from the first time I read this book), ALL I can think of is "Denn die Todten reiten schnell." I love it when there's evidence that the author of a vampire novel has actually read Dracula.
Interestingly, this book is told solely through journal entries. A nod to the original's epistolary structure, perhaps?

So we're just name-dropping all of the famous vampire novelists I see.

The fictional academic credited with this section is being mean to our good friend Bram though.

I mean, sure Nice is quite a ways from La Barre, but this was written in 1989 so maybe that detail hadn't been revealed yet (I am too lazy to check). And sure, he COULD have just picked a French name at random and just so happened to land on the same one as Gene Roddenberry.
But again, this was written in 1989, so I am choosing to believe that he went "Hey, there's a French character in that new Star Trek show I watched back in the States; I'll use his name."
