knowing how to crochet, knit and sew is so important to me. You can give me a piece of string and some string and I will be entertained and i can make a WHOLE THING
like that's amazing, and I'm amazed that I can do it.
i also started doing micro crochet, i use a 0.5mm needle and cotton yarn not much larger than sewing thread and frankly it is the most impressive shit i can do.

My first two attempts at microcrochet. I'm using two strands of embroidery floss and a 1.65mm hook for the grant squares. The pumpkin was 4 stands.
I tried working in the round first and absolutely could not make my fingers understand the tension I needed to make a nice fabric. So instead I freehanded the pumpkin by doing about 12 short rows of BLO sc and then joining the last row to the first row to make a cylinder. Then I cinched in the top and bottom to make a sphere and slapped another tube on top for the stem.
The granny square went much better and I'm going to make a few of them, and then make a regular sized pig in a (micro) granny square blanket christmas ornament for the family tree.
