This is a tweet said by a ‘radical feminist’ known on radtwt and this is exactly why I only follow Black, Asian, Indigenous and Roma feminists now. White radfems will excuse their racism under the guise of feminism yet when it comes to actually being feminist and helping Roma women? They’re silent. I can’t believe someone would say this and not think to themselves ‘this is even more reason why I must ally with Roma women against oppressive aspects of their culture’ but instead she goes full nazi and later on says how Roma are ‘forever condemned to be lower caste’ and lives a ‘cringe’ existence without ever thinking about the racism they experience that makes their existence so ‘lower caste’ and ‘cringe’. I’m sorry to bring this to you, I know it could be triggering, but you are the most active Roma radfem I follow right now (the few I follow on twitter have been on hiatus or either suspended :/) and I needed to get this off my chest. I’ve been so annoyed at radfem spaces lately because of bs like this, where white radfems will go on about how they can’t be oppressive because they’re women and all women are oppressed only to turn around and be oppressive racist assholes.

Tbh I have seen this sentiment echoed in many radfem spaces, not just on Twitter. A few months ago I received an ask that said "why should I care about Romani women when their culture is so sexist in the first place". A woman commented on one of my posts about racialized misogyny against Romnia with "stop playing the victim, if people don't like you it's because your culture sucks". (I'm paraphrasing because I'm too lazy to find those posts rn)

I totally understand why you'd only follow radfems of colour, I think I follow only a few white radfems as well. White feminists always try and undermine their white privilege because they think being a woman means they can't be oppressors. It's a very one dimensional way to understand how oppression works. I could go on and on about this but I think you summed it up pretty well. They're not only ignoring their race and class privilege, they are also being actively bigoted against woc.

I have heard that misandristlana was Afghan (but living in the UK), I can't find a proof for it because she has been suspended though. In any case it's a huge no hope for women moment but I am really not surprised by this, non-Romani women typically never show support to Romani women so I stopped expecting anything from them. We can only count on ourselves to liberate ourselves. That's why I prioritize fellow Romani women before other women

I've read the most eye opening texts from radblr radfems but then again anyone can come on here and say pretty much anything. doesn't help that they'll be excluded from most groups on here because of the trans issue so that's what they come here for. There have been a couple of blogs that became radblr popular in a month because and only because of their gender posts

Can't tell which particular issue you're referring you, but yeah. I wish some of these women should just call themselves gc because they do not have a feminist bone in their body. Imagine having same lifestyle as a conservative woman while claiming to want to uplift women. A lot of them just come here to validate them when they finally meet their nigels after a lot of yes all men facade. it's funny. And when you criticize them they bring up blackpillers to invalidate other peoples critiques. The amount of micro aggressions and racism is crazy too. People on twt (before i was banned from there) made it seem like this place is full of principled and more left leaning women. Kind of the opposite. You might say these are only a few people but unfortunately they're the loudest or have the biggest platform. Imagine being introduced to radical feminism online as a young girl and it's a bunch of hyper feminine, male partnered edgy women with superiority/hero complex and "man hater" aesthetic. Sounds like a joke.

Why is it so acceptable to be racist to Roma? Even some of the most progressive white people I’ve met (not the Twitter account being called out) proudly say racist things about Roma.

Yeah, I've seen that tweet and heard of that misandristlana user... she is popular on radtwt and, if I recall, British. Her account was recently suspended, apparently. It's very disheartening because my of the reactions were in support of her, tweets saying "she is right though" or implying it's libfem behaviour to call her out. Unfortunately I am not at all surprised by this because, as you said, the mere idea of not being racist toward Roma is completely unfathomable to Europeans. White Europeans are ready to accept Black people having *some* civil rights, Arab people having *some* rights, Asian people having *some* rights, but the minute you say that Roma should have rights too they lose their minds. Their idea of antiracism doesn't extend to Roma and whenever I hear Europeans talk about "Romani antiracism" they always treat it as a joke or they get upset because a movement like that would really show that "the woke movement has gone too far". Once a Romani boy from my country called out anti-Roma racism on Twitter and some guys replied with "fuck even the Gypsies are woke now". They always react like that.

It's even more annoying when it comes from people of colour. I thought misandristlana was white at first too but I have since heard that she is actually Afghan. I don't know if she ever claimed to be antiracist or anything. Once again I am not even that surprised that a woman of colour would be racist against Roma because many Europeans of colour are racist against Roma. In my country there is absolutely no Romani rights movement. The antiracist movement is a coalition of different groups of people of colour (black, mena, asian) working together but those groups never work with Roma and never even talk about Roma. That may be an urban legend so don't quote me on this but a Romani woman once told me Roma were even excluded from some antiracist groups. Myself and another Romani feminist I know have also felt uneasy in feminist antiracist groups. Not that we are uncomfortable per se, it is just that everyone (including ourselves) feel like we don't belong in the global antiracist movement because antiracist activists never thought about discussing Romani issues, working with Roma, and sometimes they even perpetuate anti-Roma racism too.

It's because no one cares about discussing anti-Roma racism because everyone thinks we deserve it. When you ever speak out against anti-Roma racism people treat you like a joke. In fact people love joking about the racism we experience, because they don't take it seriously. You can see that everyday on the internet whenever a Romani person talks about racism and the Americans jump in the replies to say "lol europeans are so hitler lmaooo". Roma aren't laughing though
