Have you seen the latest MHA S7 OP ? The visual are so pretty, bkg has such a soft look! These days hori is drawing Katsuki with such smiling expressions so i wonder if bkg is going to have a change in personality like not being angry 24/7 etc what do you think ? His relation with izuku is definitely going to change but will deku accept this new soft side of kacchan?
Listen, my friend, and hear the gospel: Katsuki has always been soft.
Katsuki is known for bolstering his tough guy, shit-talking side, yes, absolutely. But his tough side and his soft side do not contradict each other, they complement each other. He is not suddenly not the guy who explosively roars or tells people off just because he's more comfortable showing himself to be thoughtful, reliable, considerate, compassionate, loyal, and selfless. He is still ferocious, ambitious, self-confident, and smug--a sore winner if there ever was one.
Hell, you see this on clear display in his fight against AFO. He's mocking that guy. Just utterly shitting on him. And it's fantastic.
Katsuki hasn't been "angry 24/7" since before Deku vs. Kacchan 2. I could quibble about how we're reading his character even earlier, but this point inarguably marks a change for him. We're now on chapter 421; the series is not over, but just those 301 chapters since DvK2 represent over 70% of its length. Even cutting the 40some chapters he was down for the count still allots us at least 60% of the story featuring some softer, more introspective, less combative flavor of Kacchan than what we began with.
I'm not trying to criticize you, anon -- but I do want to point these things out, because I think people underestimate and misread this kid sometimes. Don't buy into his bluster wholesale!
We're seeing Katsuki at his most comfortable, right now. We're seeing his truest self. He is allowing people to see the softness he has always had inside him, and I love it.
But Katsuki has always been and will always be feisty, snarky, and a little contrarian. He's always gonna roast the people he cares about for being thick-headed or careless or making his life hard. And then he's gonna be there for them anyway, which is what he's done for Izuku all this time.
As for how Izuku is gonna receive him, I have no doubt whatsoever that Izuku will beam at him with joy, satisfaction, and the occasional awe. He has accepted Katsuki as he is ever since DvK2, happy to be by his side to watch him better himself and then chase after him. They have been getting more and more comfortable with each other, working together, planning together, talking casually together.
I don't think their relationship is going to change much, other than the ways they are going to let each other in more. And gosh, what a joy that would be to see, huh?
It's all gravy from here on out, man.
Also the opening fucking rocked, and I absolutely yelled when I saw explody boy doing his fourth-wall-breaking gentle gaze at the camera. Izuku is very lucky to be the one those eyes land on more often than not, and he's superfan enough to be grateful even if he's not particularly self-aware!!!

"What the HELL are you wearing?"

A continuation of this (hope OP doesn't mind, but it fit so nicely!)
“What the hell are you wearing?” Steve—shit, Eddie should probably find out his last name if he’s going to be following this guy back to Paris…and also asking him back to his hotel room after the show—calls as they enter the charming little chateau he’s staying at. Seriously. It looks like something out of a fairy tale—ivy covered walls, a beautiful garden full of flowers and vegetables, a snowy white cat perched on the fence. If you looked up the phrase ‘charming little chateau’ in the dictionary, there would probably be a picture of this place right next to it.
Eddie peeks around Steve’s shoulder (it’s only polite to wait to be invited inside, it has nothing to do with him wanting a longer look at that enticing ass in those jeans) and for a moment, his heart sinks. There’s a woman around their own age standing in the—charming—living room, bathed in sunlight from the wide picture windows. There’s nothing particularly offensive about her outfit…except for the neon purple beret perched on her head. She’s got a huge canvas set up on an easel in front of her, the floor covered by drop cloths and paints, brushes, and other tools covering every flat surface. She’s pretty, in an off-beat kind of way—not as classically attractive as Steve, to Eddie’s eyes, but pretty all the same, and Eddie can sense the easy familiarity between the two as Steve drops his bag of purchases by the door and saunters into the living room. He plucks the beret off the woman’s head, examining it with a look of disgust and dodging nimbly when the woman reaches to snatch it back.
Shit. Shit, shit, shit, has he misread this whole situation? Or, Christ, is he about to be invited to a threesome or something? He doesn’t think he’s been misinterpreting the looks Steve keeps casting at him, but he does not feel like awkwardly turning down some hot young couple trying to be adventurous…particularly as he’s kind of depending on them to get him back to Paris in time for the show.
Then he takes a closer look at the woman.
“Holy shit, you’re Robin Buckley!” he exclaims, drawing her eyes to him. They immediately go as wide as his feel.
“Holy shit, you’re Eddie Munson!” she gasps.
Well. At least he knows Steve didn’t bring him back here with the intention of having a threesome.
Steve freezes, glancing between them with a—still unfairly attractive—frown. “You two…know each other?” he asks slowly.
“I mean…not personally?” Eddie says. “Just—oh my God, I love your art! My best friend is obsessed with you!” he can’t help gushing. Robin Buckley is a darling of the international art scene—her portraits and paintings in demand in galleries all over the world. Eddie would kill to have some of her art on one of their album covers.
Chrissy is going to die of jealousy when she hears about this. She’s been nursing the worst crush on Robin Buckley for going on two years now. Ever since she saw the woman speak at a charity gala dedicated to raising money for art scholarships for LGBT+ youth.
“My art! Dude! I love your stuff. Holy fuck, the Touchstone album was on blast 24/7 while I was painting my last triptych!”
Steve has moved further into the living room and is examining Buckley’s canvas with interest. At Robin’s words, he looks back at Eddie, arching an eyebrow. “You’re a—singer?” he asks, obviously guessing. Eddie ducks his head down, biting his lip a little.
“Something like that,” he says modestly. Buckley cackles.
“Oh my God! Dingus! How do you go out for booze and come back with the freakin’ lead singer and guitarist of Corroded Coffin? What is your life?” She points a paintbrush covered in yellow paint at him, causing him to dance backwards with a laugh that is fucking musical to Eddie’s ears.
“I don’t know who that is! No offense,” he tosses over his shoulder at Eddie, “he was trying to ask that clerk in the cheese shop for help finding the train station.”
Buckley nods sagely. “In English?” she asks Eddie.
Eddie nods sheepishly. “Didn’t go so well. Thank God Stevie here was in line behind me.” He notices Steve’s cheeks go a little pink at the pet name, and can’t help but smile. He hopes he gets to see how far down that blush goes tonight.
Buckley hums, her eyes flicking between him and Steve before they go a little sly. “Stevie,” she says, sidling a little closer to her friend. She glances at Eddie again. “Voulez-vous coucher avec lui?” she asks with a smirk.
And look. Eddie doesn’t speak French. Gareth made him memorize how to ask where the bathroom is, order a beer, and tell someone to fuck off (just for funsies) and he has a handful of other helpful phrases written down phonetically in his lyric notebook. However, Chrissy blasts Lady Marmalade every time it comes on the radio and he knows damn well what Buckley just asked Steve.
Steve shoots him a sly little side-glance, looking him up and down in a way that has heat blooming in Eddie’s gut. “Oui,” he says, tossing Eddie a little wink. Eddie kind of wants to fist pump.
Buckley laughs again, sounding delighted. “Oh my God, I can’t wait to tell Dustin about this. He’s going to die!”
Steve shakes his head. “Rob, I swear to God, if you tell Dustin about this, you can walk back to London next week.”
“Pfft, like I can’t buy my own plane tickets. Worth it!” she singsongs before whirling back to Eddie. “I am so delighted to meet you, Eddie Munson…would you like to join us for lunch, or do we need to get you back to Paris, like, ASAP?”
He glances at the—very charming—clock sitting on the mantle behind Buckley’s easel. He’s not due at soundcheck for another few hours and Steve said the city was only about an hour and a half train ride. Besides. Chrissy has been so good to him over the years—she truly is his best friend as well as their manager. He owes it to her to put in a good word with the woman she’s been pining over, doesn’t he?
“I could eat,” he says. “Gotta keep my energy up for tonight,” he says, making direct eye contact with Steve as he says it. That delightful flush sweeps over Steve's cheekbones again.
Seriously. Wandering around the French countryside. Best. Decision. Ever.

Heartybul
Riddle: Shaymin
Shaymin is a hedgehog and since Riddle is the grass gym leader in my au it just worked the best. Imagine it's flower is a rose though. (He probably wouldn't use it for the gym that's too op)
Ace: Scorbunny
I needed a lil rascal for Ace and Scorbunny gives such Ace vibes.
Deuce: Buneary
After the bunny event (can't remember the name of it for the life of me) I had to give him a bunny pokemon. I also wanted it to be a duo with Ace's ace. (tehehe ace and ace) For all you Adeuce-ers I have a drawing vision I'll create one day.
Cater: Ditto
Identity issues. I picture Ditto approaching Cater as Cater and he assumed it was a clone for the longest time. Ofc until he tried making it disappear and it didn't work.
Trey: Chansey
He's like the big brother of the group so I thought Chansey was perfect.
Savanaclaw
I didn't wanna just base them off of their species since I was going to give them Pokemon Beastman types instead. (For example Leona is a Pyroar Beastman)
Leona: Lucario
I wanted a fighting type since he's the fighting gym leader. So when I was playing Legends Arceus and stumbled upon an alpha Lucario I knew it had to be. (Dunno how much it fits tho tbh)
Ruggie: Timburr
I needed a lil rascal for him. Someone who could snag something and run off. Also preferably a fighting type. Timburr fits the profile.
Jack: Lycanroc
He turns into a wolf...this one had to be a wolf. I wanted one that didn't give intimidating vibes and Lycanroc was my best bet. I feel like it's a very loyal pokemon and from what I know Jack is decently loyal. (I'm sorry I don't know much about Jackypoo)
Octavinelle
Azul: Grapploct
I know I said I didn't wanna go species based, but tbh it was either this or Vaporeon and I feel like I could find more similarities with these two. It's pre-evolution is a small little guy who works it's way up to it's strong version, similar to Azul working hard to become the successful man- teen he is today.

Jade: Lapras
I needed something to pair with Floyd and just going for the eels felt too easy. Lapras has this elegance that Jade has so I thought it'd work
Floyd: Gyrados
(did I spell that wrong?) He totally caught a Magikarp when he was younger because he thought it looked funny then kept it. Look at it now!!
Scarabia

I wanted an angry looking pokemon to contradict his friendly optimistic-ness. + elephant. He rides an elephant in Chapter/Book 4.

Almost went with PorygonZ but he likes kitties and as the electric type gym leader I had to go with Luxray. Lions are cats!!

Come on... Do I have to explain? Oh wait non-pokemon fans might be reading this, yes I do. Rotom can travel between devices and sometimes even the players Pokedex. (Encyclopedia of Pokemon) (Sun/Moon for example)

Malleus: Meowstick♂️
Everyone keeps giving him a super op team full of legend/psuedo-legendary dragon types but instead I made him part Dialga (basically the god of time) so I could excuse it.
I can't see him getting many pokemon, most escaping their balls and leaving Mal down. But this Meowstick lives in his castle. He wanted to befriend it but it was really stubborn. Eventually they became comrades tho!!
Silver: Swablu
He needs an Altaria. It's a cloud bird (technically dragon but shhhh)‼️‼️Swablu doesn't evolve until level 50 though and he's still young so he needs to wait.
Sebek: Pom-Pom Oricorio
I LOVE HIS DYNAMIC WITH ORICORIO!! I picked it because it was an electric cheerleader and he's always idolizing Mal but there's lore origins
Sebek found Oricorio when he was younger and out playing with Silver. It was injured and about to faint (Pokemon's equivalent to dying) Silver insisted on rushing it home and having Lilia help save it. Sebek carried it all the way there and it grew attached to him.
I can see Baul having issues with him having a non-evolving Pokemon but give it time, it'll prove it can be strong
Lilia: Sneasler
Come on...Look at them.
Sneasler is a Hisui exclusive actually, and Hisui is Sinnoh in the 1700s-ish. It also looks like it could be a soldier, look at it. Amazing. Perfect. I love Sneasler.
Extra: (You'll have to look these up yourself)
Crowley: Haunchcrow, it's in the name, it's a crow.
Crewel: Furfrou, dog you get to stylize, perfect fit
Vargas: Machamp (please say I didn't mix it up, the fully evolved one) Human like muscle pokemon absolutely perfect.
Trein: Lucius, Lucius is a pokemon in my au. shush it's just a rare species
Sam: Dusknoir, skull ghost type. Perfect for Sammypoo.
So that concludes all their aces. Funsies!! I'm back in my Pokemon hyperfix so I'm brainrotting. This was one of many...
I have everything planned out but the lore doc only contains up to Scarabia's arc rn. (But still ask about anything I literally have most of it planned)
The Pokemon au focuses on Yuu, who gets sent to the TWST region (shush ik not creative) by Arceus (Pokemon God). Professor Crowley finds poor Yuu and offers to help them home, if they complete the Pokedex. (I had to type that out 4 times I kept accidentally deleting it)

I love your art OP<3 Could you explain your art of qbad? I see you draw him as a demon, but I've also seen him as a shorter demon and even a human or a mix. I would love to hear your reasoning!

So in my HCs, Bad is a Wither Demon! They are more or less my fancy vision of a Wither Skeleton, obv his design has come VERY far and you wouldn't know that if I didnt mention it probbaly LOL
Wither Demons cannot typically shapeshift, or have other forms but Bad can because he learned magic and uses it frequently! So his "true" form is his big 9'6 one, but the one he uses most often is his shorter demon form to help blend in, be less scary, and for practicality and fitting in smaller spaces.
This is about the size comparison?? kinda?? bad is wearing platforms in the first render though LOL
There arent many demons who live in the overworld, so he's self concious about his size and certain features like his mouth and tail/feet/wings
In his smaller form, his wings are way too small to carry him, or even glide so theyre essentially useless besides a little more dexterity I guess?? He can easily maintain his smaller form constantly, as long as he takes an hour or two in his regular form every once in a while (I have an idea that during purgatory he would abuse this and be forced into his regular form mwhaha)
ANYWAYS, his smaller form is actually one he designed himself, so most people who meet him don't know what kind of critter he is but just go w it lol
For his "human" form, that's a little different! Bad is NOT a human in my hc, that's his human disguise! It's similar to his smaller demon form, but is a LOT more tricky because of it being a whole anatomy change in a lot more ways (like going from cold to warm blooded, how he breathes, the amount of joints in his legs, the obv loss of his wings and tail, ect) and is actually one he did not design himself. He uses a spell that is veryyy very hard to keep up for longer than a few hours, and cannot decide how he looks :o but after using the spell for years he is able to maintain the form for days on end (with breaks ofc)
When he switches forms. it's like a strange magic cloud sometimes but can also be quick and subtle like a chameleon changing colors
VERYYYY old art on the second pic, but I've had this idea for years :DD he's always been a creature guy in my eyes

Soooo…. I have been inspired and I drew a thing! As you guys know, I love Barnaby and I’ve been obsessed with him for a while and even made a ask blog where you can ask him questions and I’d draw a picture, responding to the question as Barnaby! So, I was reading facts about him the other day and it said….
I was wondering how or what Barnaby does to handle these types of situations where people want to die of old age, since he doesn’t have any time related powers. That’s when I realized: Barnaby needs a little assistant to help him murder his party guests!
So, I’d like to introduce you all to my first BBU OC, Bartholomew the bat!
(Psssst! If you turn him upside down and look at his face, ignore the ears, you’ll see a little Easter egg in the outline of the head! Could that be the outline of Barnaby’s head?!)
I would’ve liked to choose a time related name for him, but Bartholomew was his WIP name and…. I think his name fits him quite well!
Now, Bartho here has Time magic. I had to come up with all of this from scratch, since the game isn’t out yet and no time related characters have been revealed, but basically, Bartho can manipulate time on himself and on others. He can make himself and others look and feel any age he wants, using his magic, he has technically found a way to make himself immortal by rewinding time on himself, as a result, he has lived countless lives, so his backstory can be anything you want! If you can think it, he’s probably lived it!
(This makes him kinda OP, i know, but I honestly can’t think of any drawbacks to this power, so if you have a suggestion, feel free to leave a comment!)
When Bartho went to go join Barnaby’s party, Bartho surprised Barnaby by saying that he wanted all the deaths that Barnaby could possibly think of. Barnaby questioned it of course, but when Bartho explained what he could do, I’d like to imagine that Barnaby probably had a heart attack out of joy! XD
Compared to Barnaby, Bartho is extremely tiny! About the size of a mouse! Barnaby can definitely eat him, if he wanted to!
I’d like to think that he is a clockmaker who loves clocks and watches and loves to fix them!
One of my favorite ideas I’ve come up for Bartho is that when he sleeps, he sways from side to side like a pendulum on a clock!

These were Bartho’s concepts, and they’re not pretty. I was going to post these the other day, but after looking at them some more, I decided that I wasn’t happy with either of them, and needed to go back to the drawing board and make something that I’m actually happy with! And yes, Bartho did have a tail at one point, but I quickly scrapped that idea, created a inspirational board on Pinterest, and tried to get inspired. The things that inspired Bartho’s design is Steampunk, clocks, other bat OCs, actual bats, furries, Halloween, autumn, and Of course, Barnaby!
I would have loved to have this somewhere on Bartho’s ghost design, but alas, I wanted it to be as easy to draw as Barnaby is, adding this would complicate things a lot. So I opted for a finished hourglass, signaling that his time alive is finished and that he has no need to keep track of time anymore. Because he can’t keep track of time in his ghost form, Bartho prefers to stay alive, but isn’t afraid of death, since he can just rewind time on himself. (Yay!!! My version of time magic is broken and OP! LOL!)

Amazing background art by the incredibly talented @cutekoala1001. I commissioned her to draw The Salty Simiano, which is the restaurant from my Sing fanfic. I could not be happier with how it turned out!!! The colors, the lighting, the decorations, the angles, the way she fit so many features into one shot, just...all-around mind-blowing 🤯
As you all know by now, I am kind of obsessed with the anthro primate characters from the Sing movies. For my Sing universe I made up a Latin American-style cantina that welcomes all animals obviously but panders to primates; it is known as a monkey hangout in Red Shore City. It also features sugar skull-type art, except the skulls are of anthro animals 😂 In the picture, the larger skulls on the wall, window and floor are chimpanzee skulls. In the bar area, the two skulls behind the chairs are a deer and a crocodile, and the one by the menu is a dog. The one in the corner by the enclosed seating area is a koala. The area on the floor covered by the skull is a dance floor.
What I love about this piece is that, like all good art, it tells so many stories. I didn’t really flesh the restaurant out very much in my fic, and seeing it here really helps inspire me to create ideas for it:
• That little enclosed seating area by the tree is very cozy, so I can see it being a popular romantic place for couples. But it’s also large enough to seat more than two, so I can also see it as a meeting place for friends.
• The restaurant has live music from time to time. Most of the bands are local Latino musicians, but since this is Red Shore City, you can also find visiting musician stars performing here from time to time.
• The band plays in front of the Salty Simiano logo. This allows for many photo ops, especially with the dance floor nearby.
• If the band knows that there is a romantic couple sitting somewhere, they will walk over to the couple and serenade them. They will also play music loudly in front of shy-looking patrons seated at the tables, insisting that they go out and dance.
• There’s one band that’s really sassy and heckles the crowd all night, in Spanish and English. The singer will butt into a dance and “steal” the guy’s partner from him and tell the girl that she could do better in terms of mates. He says this into his microphone so that everyone can hear him.
• The art in the restaurant is featured in numerous cultural publications in Red Shore City (magazines, etc.). The restaurant has also published a pamphlet that explains the history and meaning of the sugar skulls. Art students also come here for studies.
• The tree was already on the land before the building was constructed, and the tree was special to the restaurant owners (being monkeys). They didn’t want to cut the tree down, so they just constructed the building around the tree and made a skylight so that natural light could filter into the room. As the tree gets bigger, they will remove the tiles that surround it. They hired a professional landscaper to prune the tree in such a way that it will eventually grow through the roof, and they will renovate the building to accommodate the tree. I know this would never happen irl, but I’m kind of a hippy and would love to see this.

Okay, I've been binge watching the Stop!!Hibari-kun anime and I've got some thoughts I need to let out.
Firstly, watching the anime makes me appreciate the Manga a hundred times more. Sure, the Manga had its problems, mostly the racism and the casual homophobia jokes and transphobia, but you could save stuff from it, like that even though there were homophobic jokes there was a gay woman who wasn't mocked because of her attraction to Hibari, or that despite the transphobia Hibari was never outright shown as being wrong by being herself.
Now, the anime does a lot of things I dislike. Firstly they make Kosaku's reactions be way more negative than in the Manga. While yes, he reacts negatively he is also seen blushing a lot when Hibari flirts with him. I may need to read the Manga for fourth time, but I also don't remember Kosaku constantly mentioning Hibari is a "guy" everytime she did anything.
There is a lot much more racism in the anime. There were problems with this in the Manga but it just feels way more present in the anime.
This one doesn't bother me too much, but I'm pretty sure the chapters do not align with the Manga, but again, this doesn't bother me.
I also noticed way more incest jokes, I don't care about them. Also the Seiji chapter where he falls in love with one of Hibari's bullies when she's 15 and Seiji is around 25/30 is very questionable. Again, this is a work of fiction so while I was like "why isn't this seen wrong?" I wasn't really uncomfortable. I do gotta say that in the Manga when the Japanese mob grown manchild son asked for Hibari's hand in marriage, it was inmediatly said he was 28 and Hibari was super taken aback. This doesn't happen in the anime, his age is NEVER mentioned. I can't quite remember, but I am sure Hibari also doesn't go on a date with him.
Oof, but here we go with the thing that has bothered me the most. The REALLY bad erasure of Jun's story. They absolutely took away her lesbianism, making it seem as if she was only interested in Hibari because of her volleyball abilities. They also totally changed the episode and made Jun be deeply ashamed of her family, that while in the Manga she was a bit embarassed it wasn't a main focus. In the Anime it was, even making her leave the volleyball club, which is crazy to me. Oh, and I'm NOT forgetting that they made Hibari enjoy getting gropped in the bus, when in the Manga she was clearly just disgusted by it.
I haven't finished it yet, may edit this post with more complains. Positive things? I'm sure Seiji and Sabu didn't have names in the Manga, so now they have identities. They try and give them more backstory, even adding an eye scar to Sabu, which was appreciated. Hibari's voice is absolutely the cutest. I liked the wrestling episode. Oh, the episode with Hibari's mother and her father was a delight, she didn't express this much emotion in the Manga, so actually seeing how she feels was great, and her end interaction with her father was adorable.
Can't remember anything more rn. As a side note, I've developed a little crush on Sabu and I'm gonna draw him. Hope you enjoyed my rambling!

Remembered the Honda thing. In the Anime he almost reaches his 1000 girls flirted with, but with one it is half a girl. In the Manga this was because he looked at a 5 year old by accident and she fell in love, while in the anime they made it so he flirted with a new half. For those who don't know, new half is an old Japanese term for transgender people, mostly trans women who were post op. In the subtitles this is translated as crossdresser, which I don't like. This isn't the first time this term is mentioned, in the spartan son episode, he calls Hibari a new half, which Kosaku tells him to not do. In another chapter there is a trans woman, and she refers to herself as New half, which again is incorrectly translated to crossdresser for some reason.
Even then there was some sort of minimal knowledge of trans people, not only with this, but in the Manga the addition of Genkijirou being a canonical trans man in hormones. Eguchi was aware and while his first idea was to make Hibari a feminine man, it obviously end up with her being a trans woman.

reasons to watch jujutsu kaisen
I made a poll asking if u guys have seen and are into jjk and a lot of y’all have not seen it at all so I’m making a list of reasons why it’s worth watching 🫡
-it has an amazing cast of characters! I think it’s one of the few shows I’ve watched besides arcane where I’ve genuinely felt like every main and supporting character has their own unique personality and motivations, and many of them are imperfect with flaws that directly influence the plot, so much so that I cld probably make a separate post on this
-the female characters specifically! jjk does this rlly shocking thing where it… considers women as people?? that are just as capable of having complex characterizations with strengths and weaknesses and motivations as male characters are??? and they’re not just onscreen for their bodies to be sexualized???? it’s quite refreshing and honestly a little shocking to see, especially in anime and especially in a shounen, and while Gege is not perfect at writing women it is still very nice to see that he actually cares. And it avoids the pitfall of “super op woman who has no weaknesses and never bleeds” bc pretty much everyone in this show bleeds and all the mains are op, not just the female characters. Plus the women who are fighters are drawn with actual muscles
-well thought out lore and world building that is almost as interesting as the characters themselves
-pretty much forces you to think deeply about the nature of the human condition
-certain supporting characters have a tragic past that is explored in a prequel arc and also is directly related to the present day plot
-features one of my all time favorite anime protagonists, and in my opinion one of the best shounen protagonists out there. n you can’t help but love him <3
-genuinely mind blowing animation, mappa animators seriously outdid themselves. the fight scenes will have you wondering if said animators have seen their families at all in the last 5 years, and 90% of all jjk shots look like they cld be on an HD poster
-several subtextually queer characters, whether intended or not (tho it seems very intentional to me)
-fascinating character dynamics that are both already well done and have lots of potential to build on
-intros and outros good enough to watch every time. I almost never skipped them when I was binging
-the men. if you are someone who is attracted to men then you will very much enjoy how they’re drawn, and if you’re not attracted to men you can still appreciate how the animators draw them the way women in anime are normally treated. it’s hilarious
-the fanfic for this anime that i have found so far is so good, and there are plenty of longfics to keep you entertained
and lastly, I cannot ethically make this post without a warning at the end: jjk is tragic. it is a tragedy. the author does not believe in the concept of plot armor. season 1 is manageable and not that bad, but I recommend preemptively assembling fix it fics before starting season 2 once you know you’re faves. :D

(also you can like things and criticize them/acknowledge their flaws.) ANYWAYS, ANYWAYS, I'M RAMBLING, but yeah, it's good eating, and i highly suggest you get into the actual series if you liked the live action because the series itself is more in depth. I think the fandom is generally not as big in rarepairs but I ended up shipping Joey with Nathan even after TIOL, I honestly believed they could have a good chemistry together. Either as a fluffy ship for joey to have a good pull on him from acting impulsively (since nathan is confirmed good) or as a legit evil business partners thing. The way Nathan was characterized in TIOL gives the impression he didn't know everything about joey but still was somehow very fond of him.

Golly gosh hang on OP I just need a minute to contemplate the idea of Joey x Nathan as a rarepair. LIKE… a majority of people I know in fandom agree that they had SOMETHING going on, so it feels like it shouldn’t be one, aND YET… I HAVE NEVER SEEN CONTENT FOR IT….. apparently i need to draw Nathan smooching Joey to fill this void……
Anyway, I DEFINITELY AGREE that the idea that Nathan had Feelings for Joey is really not hard to make a case for. You just point to that one TIOL footnote where Joey is like “Nathan likes creative people, he secretly wishes he were like us” and Nathan’s like “no I don’t, I just Like Joey So Much that I enjoy his creativity, isn’t it just like him to miss the compliment” and then congratulations you’ve made an utterly convincing case even BEFORE you get to the part where Nathan suddenly starts up an entire animation studio to keep his old friend’s dream alive, or that Nathan was someone who was close enough to Joey to “get the call” upon Joey’s death, or any number of examples of Nathan’s tremendously fond teasing in the other footnotes of TIOL. The little teasey note when Joey says "I always make fun of you!" and describes Nathan's face as "looks annoyed but isn't really" and Nate's like "yeah that's accurate". Nathan’s love for Joey is blatant and obvious, enough so that I was quietly shipping them even when I was part of the chunk of fandom that expected Nathan to be sinister; it’s just up to interpretation whether it was romantic, and whether it was requited.
Admittedly I do chafe a bit at the binary morality of “confirmed good” – most of what we can surmise from BatDR is that Nathan was Genuine. He genuinely worked hard, he genuinely loved his son, and he genuinely believed in Joey. He’s also, like, a mega rich guy who is obliviously putting a lot of that money to work in covering up his famous friend’s abuse and exploitation and Actual Murder of employees, so. No matter how well-intentioned he might be, if you're as rich and famous as Nathan Arch you don't get to just Not Realise Employees Can Be Exploited without being a little bit complicit for not looking harder. I don’t think it has to be an either/or of Good vs Evil – Nathan just strikes me as a well-intentioned and genuine guy who also has some serious blindspots, who maybe would just keep making excuses for his good friend as he learned more and more of the truth. And its INTERESTING when you consider him re-publishing TIOL in hopes of showing what he believed Joey was really like -- the charming man he liked so much. How did Nathan read TIOL and come to that conclusion? Joey's insecurity bleeds off every page, and Nathan admits in the footnotes that Joey makes things up, doesn't like to be corrected, might be lying in some of his stories, and has a habit of talking his way into what he wants even when he shouldn't. Either Nathan was SO smitten that he was completely blind to Joey's.... joeyness, or these were qualities that endeared Joey to him. He liked Joey being a bit of a scamp!
I’ve said before that my most deeply held unprovable BatDR headcanon is that Nathan was having an affair with Joey, and Wilson found out about it but Tessa never did, but I think that’s mostly fun for the characterisation it gives Wilson. When it comes to Nathan and Joey themselves, I absolutely headcanon Nathan’s affection as romantic, but I think I was more intrigued by their relationship back when it seemed like Nathan was going to be sinister! Like, if Nathan really had screwed Joey over in order to gain control of the Ink Machine like in some of those early theories, it would be delightful if all his footnotes were actually still true. If it's not just a performative “OH YES MY POOR DEAR DEAD FRIEND JOEY cool grab his stuff” motivation, but that the fondness is real, it just didn’t stop him – "you understand, old friend, business is business!" Obviously the story didn't turn out that way, but I think the possibility really grabbed me, haha.
It is kinda funny, though, that the way Nathan’s characterisation has turned out, you wonder what made Joey interested in him. Was it just the positive attention? Was it just his money? Nathan seems like such an easy mark (see: his reaction to the Lottie letters), and Joey isn’t very complimentary to him in TIOL, but he’s also reasonably fond, and brings Nathan up a few times as someone he counted on for advice that he actually took. Joey felt Nathan didn’t really understand him, but he seemed to value his friendship. This largely guileless, earnest guy who’s characterised as hard working……… who else do we know….. who might fit that description…………………… Joey Drew Stop Getting Involved With Married Men Challenge,

Leigh plays Tellius prt 10
It's time to lay siege on Daein Keep!
Also, I love how quickly these racist Daein men change their tune as soon as they have a dragon on their side. Keep in mind, they believe the entire reason they went to war with Crimea was to apply sanctions for the Crimean nobility creating an alliance with a "sub-human" nation. But it's okay as long as the laguz is on their side, right? I love how this game isn't afraid to show just how hypocritical people can be.
Ena was super brave for this, imo. She couldn't be certain that they wouldn't all turn on her the second they realized that she was a laguz. I really love her character.
Damn, I always forget how OP Mist is once you give her a sonic sword. It's too bad there aren't swords that do magic damage in RD, or else Mist would have swept the floor with everyone.
It was here that I had my first perfect level-up! Oscar, my man, you never disappoint. He continues to be at or above average for all of his stats, except for strength. Gosh, I love this guy. I mean, I'd love him no matter what, but the fact that he's succeeding so hard is a wonderful bonus.
I kind of hate the implication that Tauroneo assumes that Mist cannot learn or pass down Gawain's style of swordsmanship. Not only is it sexist, Mist can use a sword!
But whatever. I have Tauroneo now I guess.
In any case, this map was smooth sailing. I swiped all the treasures, and wiped out all of the enemies without issue.
I did intend to draw out the Ena fight to get as much exp as possible, but Ike decided to Aether her TWICE in the first round. So that was a touch disappointing.
Here we go with Ashnard's core philosophy again. I do kind of find it ironic that, according to how the game works, Ashnard is 100% accurate. If I want to win the game, I need to get my characters exp, which comes from fighting enemies. And if I leave a unit on the bench too many times, they will fall behind, because the enemies we face get a little stronger on every map.
That being said, I still want an essay on Ashnard's world philosophy, how it relates to certain philosophies in our world, and the way the story handles it.
I love how absolutely petrified (heh) Petrine is in this scene. In every scene before this one, Petrine is a villain with the utmost confidence in herself. But in this scene, Petrine is so intimidated by Ashnard that she can barely speak. It's interesting to see a different side of her.
Yes, Ashnard is irredeemably evil. I do appreciate his sass, though. This line always gets a hearty chuckle from me.
Zelgius!!! Honestly, I could barely take this scene seriously, because I kept remembering the ongoing bit in Jello's PoR stream where Ike has a huge crush on Zelgius. For all Tellius fans, this is a must-watch.
Titania continues to be tired of Soren being a sourpuss all the time. I love Soren with all my heart, but I do imagine his constant cynicism can get annoying, especially in such a tense atmosphere.
That being said, Soren is right as usual. Really, Soren's main role in this game is to speak the truth that no one else wants to hear. And luckily, Ike actually appreciates Soren for it.
Like, sure, a lot of what Soren says is harsh, sometimes even cruel. But it all comes from a place of him wanting to protect others.
Aaaand, that's the siege on Daein Keep!
Next time, I get to play some tetris with some knights and finally, finally, FINALLY recruit Ranulf.

Autumn anime 2023 is so STACKED, it's illigal!
Aside from the obviously amazing continuing shows, there's TOO MANY great new ones.
Based on first episodes, here's my top ranking (may be subject to change cuz Apothecary Diaries isn't out yet. And excluding SpyxFamily, dr. Stone and Tokyo Revengers which are all *chef's kiss*)
1. Kamonohashi Ron: Deranged Detective
you had me at Detective. and then you had me at Deranged.
Also, I'm a big fan of Amano Akira's other works, Reborn and eldLIVE (Psycho-Pass not so much, but she only did the character art)
Depressed adult who is too curious for his own good, what's not to love?
2. Undead Unluck
I saw the manga before and had been really anticipating the anime. They're such a fun duo and their personalities and abilities compliment one another really well. looks like there'll be a lot of cool unusual superpowers.
Reminds me a lot of Blood Lad, just hoping this anime won't end with virtually nothing solved T~T;
3. Kingdom of Ruin
Bit on the over the top side with the amount of tragedy, but the worldbuilding seems very interesting. I'm a slut for witch hunting too. May end up severely traumatized if I continue, but we'll see how it goes.
4. My New Boss Is Goofy
My soul is healed, my crops are growing. Grown men doing stilly stuff is comfort food for the eyes. Looks a bit yaoi baiting, but can't complain if it's cute.
Reminds me of Cool Douji Danshi.
5. Migi & Dali
I don't even know what's going on at this point, it's so surreal.
Elder couple wants to adopt one child and genius twins thought 'we can work with that'.
The silly love children of Johan Liebert and Sakamoto desu ga. (same author as Sakamoto too. it sure shows.)
6. Crash course on Naughtiness
Last season, I was confronted with the pet-peeve of feeble waifu syndrome (I finished My Happy Marriage, but I'm sorry, I could not stand that girl...)
And this season around, I realized the formula that breaks the curse of feeble waifus: a batshit crazy counterpart. This man is just bullying her with kindness. plus points for another excelent job done by Sugita Tomokazu.
7. Frieren
As a big fan of DnD, I can't say no to such a DnD-based series.
Plus the pressure of having to live such a long live as elves do is very interesting.
It's a bit slow to my liking, but the characters are amusing and layered.
8. Yuzuki family's 4 sons
a young man who has to take care of his 3 little brothers after his parents died, give me some napkins Q-Q
not a single person looks or acts their age (the youngest has better vocabulary than I do;;) but it's all fun and sweet and trying to find your way in an unusual family-hirarchy
9. I'm in love with the villainess
My eyes hurt from looking at this. But the over the top artstyle works quite well with how silly the story is.
I too would like to say 'step on me, mommy' to my favorite villain.
Just hope it won't become repetitive in its jokes.
10. Tearmoon Empire
Wow, will you look at that. Another reincarnated villainess.
Luckily, this one has no memories of living in a different world or something. Just her future self's diary.
Enjoying the concept where she's not suddenly a saintly good girl for a change.
11. Oujo to Banken
This dude is on THIN fucking ice.
I commonly enjoy age gaps very much. but in no way what so ever, would I support a relationship between a teenager and the 10 year older guy who basically raised her. Him being her parent figure is where I draw the line.
That said, I'm eating up the amount of over-protectiveness and yakuza-logics. It has the amount of spice I had hoped to find in Yakuza's Guide to Babysitting that wasn't there.
12. Ragna Crimson
I'm sorry. just...... you can't make me believe that the ditsy loli-girl is the best dragon killer in the world. stop.
The maincharacter is quite interesting, though. I like how it's like... his actual own power that he has for his OP special snowflake thing.

Any fun facts about him?
oh my gosh YES okay so clementine (maybe new name pending at some point since i stole his name ope) is a cowboy in the badlands around medora, his whole cowboy experience is based on what i have learned by growing up in north dakota and what it was like to live here in the plains and the badlands way back when. honestly a great deal of people here still live this way, and there's a lot of readily available historical knowledge here about it especially if you visit medora and learn about theodore roosevelt and all!! but clementine precedes teddy quite a bit, he's a cowboy in the late 1700s-ish i think?, cause at some point through some twist of fate he meets hickory ( @linafication's counterpart to this guy!) who is a PIRATE (SO COOL) and they're in butch4butch t4t dyke love forever and ever. but pirates and (american-area) cowboys don't quite neatly line up in history, so we have to do some time finagling.
anyways clementine himself!! he is something of a nomad - he goes to lots of the same towns, but he never sticks around for very long. almost his whole life since he was old enough to be alone, he's been alone. and he doesn't have any relations, only the people who have considered him honorary family across his life, especially the people who raised him. and if you asked him he would say he likes it that way! he's alone but not lonely, he would probably say. he has a horse (when people are kind enough to loan him one) and a guitar (when he can hang onto it). he's got a little money and his handkerchief and his nice gloves and a gun and a big big heart and it doesn't MATTER if nobody's ever wanted to come along with him and it doesn't BOTHER him if he hasn't ever had anyone to call his own and he doesn't MIND that he doesn't have anywhere to go at the end of the day. totally not. it's perfectly fine. he doesn't feel one way or the other about it. he doesn't even barely notice it.
and that's sort of his whole deal pre-hickory; sig and i haven't talked a lot about how they meet or sort of what happens with them, but they exist! and their story exists!
fun facts about clementine include: he does play guitar but he doesn't own one (anymore. he lost it. it's somewhere. all the hills look the same. he swears he'll turn a corner and find it one day, and that's why he can't even consider getting a new one. cause it's out there!! he just doesn't know where.) i'm interested in making him one of the three affiliated tribes (MHA) of the area but i haven't spent enough time brainstorming about him and researching to say much more about that; he was originally ojibwe cause i wanted him to be native and i'm ojibwe so it felt safe to keep him close to what i know, but unless he came from a long long ways away (which is possible!) it wouldn't make a lot of sense for him to be ojibwe. so i'm working on that! another fun fact is he operates in a grey space between outlaw and normal guy, in some places he has done his fair share of crimes, and in other places he's a well loved unsuspicious fellow! but those places have to be pretty far away from eachother cause information spreads. he does lots and lots of odd jobs for people, and his most lucrative side business is running letters between towns as a tiny mail system of just one guy. he has a remarkable sense of direction. he draws landscapes when he has the means. he's very afraid of heights. he loves dogs but politely turns down every offer for him to have one of his own when someone's dog has had puppies, cause he thinks he can't take good care of it. he wants to see the ocean (and he will i assume! with hickory!) and he's a horrible swimmer. his favorite color is red. he gets flirted with by men and women and only by accident ever flirts back. and lastly but possibly the most important fun fact, i love him very much

hello-hello, I have come to shamelessly speak of my favourite modded follower... disclaimer for potentially bad taste 😅
I'm not sure why but I have quite a liking for followers built off of the vanilla system (i.e. no custom voice, complex ai and so on). maybe it's because I can flesh them out further the way I wish, similar to actual vanilla npc's. doubly-so since the majority of them don't have much of a backstory in their nexus pages...
anyway, about the specific guy I'm obsessed with... his name is Talerion, and he is a Thalmor. but wait! before you judge me, he is quite interesting! to my knowledge he's the only vanilla-style modded follower who uses the Altmer voice (so pretty...), with follower functionality thanks to RDO. also, he has a rather unconventional fighting style for an Altmer, forgoing magic in favour of dual wielding daggers (daedric ones, to boot! personally I tweak it so it's something less OP)
I am positively obsessed with him and he is practically my oc at this point with all of the backstory/lore I have made up for him. he will a quite important character in my planned fanfic, as an ally (and maybe more) of one of the main characters. also, I've drawn him quite a bit (examples here and here) and plan to make a replacer that makes his in-game look closer to how I draw him. (I probably cannot post it publicly tho bc of permission issues, mod author has not been active in a long time)
100% understand if he ain't your cup of tea but I consider him my-not-mine specialest little guy <3
Oh cool! I had heard of him, but I didn't realize he used a vanilla voice. I love your art! his ears poking out his hood 😭
I love when you can build on characters like that though, making your own stories about your special little guys is a cornerstone of the Elder Scrolls!!
