Israeli air strike in Gaza kills prominent scientist Sufyan Tayeh, Palestinian ministry says

Dec 2 An Israeli air strike targeting the neighborhood of Al-Faluja, 30 km (18 miles) northeast of Gaza City, has killed prominent Palestinian scientist Sufyan Tayeh and his family, the Palestinian Higher Education ministry announced on Saturday. Tayeh, who was president of the Islamic University of Gaza, was a leading researcher in physics and applied mathematics.

In 2005, he was arrested by Israeli occupation forces at the Rafah border crossing while he was heading to Egypt to complete the procedures for submitting his PhD dissertation at Ain Shams University. Over the period from 2008 to 2011, he assumed the position of Head of Physics Department at the Islamic University and he was appointed President of the University in August 2023.

Academic activity One of Dr. Tayeh’s research works was a proposal for scientific research in the field of optical sensors submitted to the University of Montreal, Canada. With the participation of Professor Ahmed Hamdan, Dr. Tayeh presented a research study entitled “Sensitivity enhancement in optical waveguide sensors”. The research paper aimed to explore multi-layer waveguide structures (more than 3 layers) for the purpose of optical biosensing, and to study the effect of anisotropic materials on the sensitivity of plate waveguide structures, in addition to studying more photonic crystals (two- and three-layer) with different compositions as well as the number of biosensing various layers.

Awards and honors Dr. Tayeh was winner of the Palestine Islamic Bank Award for Scientific Research for years 2019 and 2020. In March 2023, he was appointed holder of the UNESCO Chair for Physical, Astrophysical and Space Sciences in Palestine. He was recipient of the Abdul Hameed Shoman Award for Young Arab Scientists; and the winner of the Islamic University Award for Scientific Research for the year 2021. He was also ranked among the top 2% of researchers around the world in 2021. source

More than 1300 scientists from 40 countries, including physicists, mathematicians, biologists, chemists, medical doctors, engineers, and social scientists, working in academia and in industry, are compelled by the events in Gaza to call for an immediate permanent ceasefire and take a stand against war and the destructive use of science in an “International Convention Against War and Destructive Use of Science: Scientists Against Israeli Apartheid and Genocide in Gaza” on 9th December 2023. Prof. Richard A Falk, Emeritus Professor of International Law at Princeton University and Former UN Special Rapporteur for Palestine, was the keynote speaker in the Convention. He spoke ‘On the situation in Gaza.’ The Convention was moderated by Dr. Manabendra Nath Bera, a quantum information scientist from India. Dr. Flavio del Santo, a scientist from Switzerland, Dr. Niatalya Dinat, a medical doctor from South Africa, Prof. Josh Dubnau, from Sony Brook University, USA, and Prof. Assaf Kfoury, Boston University, USA, discussed possible amendments proposed by participants on the draft of the Declaration by the scientists. In the end, the amended Declaration was adopted after voting, with an absolute majority (97%).

The adopted Declaration embodies scientists’ protest against the destructive use and militarisation of science, Israeli occupation, apartheid, and genocide in Gaza, and call for an academic and scientific boycott and to stand by the Palestinian professors, scientists, researchers, scholars, and students.

And you can already tell I don’t these characters and I’m going to have trigger warnings and if the creator aren’t comfortable with these headcanons, I can and will delete this post.

Lucien Rebois:

He lives with his Mom, Melanie Rebois since his dad left them when he was 3

He had Great Dane dog name Sapphire based on the color of her eyes but died because of bone cancer and felt like he needed to keep things close so he won’t lose them

Lucien was on the soccer team when he was little and loved the sport ever since.

Lucien fall in love Marc just because of his looks alone and doesn’t really know him as much he claims to know (just the based level)

Lucien really cares about his reputation and wanted to be perceived as perfect as possible and already thought he was. So he tries to fix Marc’s ‘flaws’ to him as much as possible.

The collar that he gave to Marc was his sapphire’s collar before he recolored it and put emerald jewels on it.

Lucien is very controlling to the point where he treats certain people as dogs.

Lucien is surprisingly good at making Arts and Crafts.

Lucien’s necklace was from his grandmother.

Emani Pulateur (My least favorite out of the two):

Emani lives with his mom Evelyn Pulater and his sister Brooke Pulater.

His parents are divorced (because they both agree they don’t work as a married couple but they are on good terms) and his dad lives in North America.

His sister, Brooke ( probably near the age that Jalil and Nora are) is very kind, a bit competitive and a perfectionist. She worries for his brother’s mental health and wants him to get better but kinda knows that he is a bit too far gone at this.

He looks up to his cousin , Vincent aza (yes that dude), from a very young age and wanted to be just like him and he thinks he didn’t do anything wrong and only wanted to be close to his passion and joy (Jagged Stone) just like he does.

He was in a photography club before getting kicked out because they said it was ‘inappropriate’ (his words not mine) to take pictures of Nathaniel without him knowing.

Emani has internalized homophobia so he tries to make nath as feminine as possible so he feels and perceives as normal to people and himself.

Emani was always into making dolls and now he based all his dolls on nath and even sleeps with one.

Emani has dimples that are from his mom’s genetics.

Emani’s has his old dollhouse that is ridiculously fancy and he likes it to be his dream house for him and Nath.

Emani is a really good actor and if someone doesn’t know him, he can gaslight them for his own personal gain.

Emani is really good at chess.

Brooke is aware of her brother stalking nath but doesn’t know what to do or to talk to with.

Or someone from the Batman universe? Lila is the girl that insults David in the original (probs Nath in this scenario) that Elle/Marinette defends Chloe is Brooke Wyndham Kim is the pool boy, Max is his boyfriend (Not sure who would be Chutney-- any suggestions would be appreciated) Obviously the story is going to be a little different-- Mari isn't blonde so the name is a little iffy, but the point is generally the same A bit of Adrien salt of course-- Reason Mari goes is bc Adrien has manipulated her into feeling that nobody else would love her, so she goes to Gotham University to follow him and prove that she's worth something They got together in lycee, stayed together during University in Paris, near beginning of their senior year she thought Adrien would propose but he broke up with her before saying he was heading to Gotham to study law (bc it was the one business-like thing his father approved of that he would actually enjoy) Mari is distraught, decides to take the LSAT and get into Gotham University's law program with Adrien and ditch her fashion studies degree (I mean, she'll finish it, but that's irrelevant to the law thing) Main story basically the same Few differences: -Mari is not ridiculed for being fashion forward and wearing pink and being stereotypically 'blonde', but people do insult her for being French and not perfect at English and for coming off as a 'french floozy' or something even though she isn't -Damian just finished his law studies, so he's about two or three years older than Mari (just like Emmett is to Elle) -Mari doesn't bring a pet with her like Elle does with Bruiser -Kagami is a bit quicker to come around than Vivian was, and stayed a little longer to watch when Bob Roth was harassing Marinette in the office (bc she does her research) Probs will add more to this later!

I take a break from the office today and went to doctor for some meds also watch the last episode of 13 Reasons Why season 4. I'm not the big fan for the last 3 seasons since Hannah died, I hate season 2 Hannah - Zach relationship feel strange to me, but I keep watching this show anyway to see Miles Heizer and Alisha Boe.

Jessica is my favorite character, I like to see her character development since season 1 until she stand up for herself after being raped, became student president and make a feminist club.

Favorite part of this season :

Alex - Charlie Relationship! the way Charlie trying to calm Alex when he had panic attack, how Charlie ask Alex to go to prom with him, the moment they win as King and King of Prom,

the brave moment of Alex confess to Winston! finally Winston get what his ego want but don't know what to do after that cause he love Alex, I feel scared when Zach confess to Winston but in the end I love to see his confuse reaction trough the fact. The graduation is my favorite moment too also Clay's speech for graduation (beside Jess speech that F patriarchy...)

About Clay.. Clay was quiet trigerring in this season as someone who had a mental health problem you may get the trigger watching Clay in this season giving you anxiety and things especially when Clay went lost control and scream.

Justin's death surpised me I didn't expect that even Justin lifestyle before he went to Jensen's family is possibly infect him to HIV. This moment make me sad until Justin last moment with Jess and Clay. I almost cry when Clay read Justin essay for college that Clay is giving him positive influence in life.

Beside awful stories of the last 3 seasons of this series the character development in every character is still great, Jess, Tyler, Clay, and others. In the end they bury Hannah's tape that start it all.

I will probably miss them.

Это было неизбежно. Я поправилась на постоянных завтраках в постель. Это прекрасные чувства, необходимые и опыт отношений о которых я мечтала. И вот я их имею. Сейчас я не об этом хочу сказать, а про пищу.

Мы все привыкли считать, что есть более калорийная еда и менее, полезная и вредная. Нужно разъяснить кое-что. Вы заметили что есть, например, два человека одинаковой комплекции, но один ест все подряд, а второй держишься на салатах? Почему так не страведливо?! Я тоже поправилась хоть и ела фрукты-овощи. Дело не в том, что именно ты ешь, а в том, что ты ЕШЬ.

Люди переходят на здоровое питание, веганство и прочее не потому что хотят похудеть, а потому что еда влияет на наши тонкие тела и свежие фрукты имеют более тонкую энергию. Вообще тело очищается от лишних жиров и шлаков, поэтому начинает лучше работать и быстрее переваривать и выводить пищу. А когда вы годами закупоривали свои клетки, кровь консервантами, то очередная порция еды не выводится, а становится в очередь и таким образом вы поправляетесь. Организм просто не успевает так много утилизировать! Мы становимся ленивыми и сонными и от этого ещё больше заплываем жиром. Поэтому что бы добиться эффекта есть и не становиться жирной, нужно помочь своему телу сейчас и дать себе месяц-три (в зависимости от веса) на жесткую диету, а лучше голодание на воде. Терпеть и ещё раз терпеть! Это не легко, но потом можно иногда есть вредное и наш уже очищенный организм это не будет откладывать никуда. Понимаете?

Нужно понимать зачем вы это делаете. Вообще восприятие мира должно измениться. Пиша это не только удовольствие для нас, но и влияние на психо-эмоциональное состояние. Вы просто осознано не захотите есть всякую дрянь если разберётесь что к чему.

Дайте себе время обнулиться. Вкусовые рецепторы успокоятся и не нужно будет в погоней за сладостью мчаться за тортом, а яблоко станет наиприятнейшей сладостью🍎🍏🍎 Ваш нормальные все уже приобретёт меньшие цифры. Но не нужно сжсебя принуждать, нужно начинать разумно и готовить своё тело и ум к желаемым изменениям.
