my russian neighbours are BLASTING z-music throughout the whole neighbourhood (yes, the one song from a few months ago that had literal 1939 nazi symbolism in the music video)

there's a retirement home right next to us where people with dementia live, you just don't do that type of shit if you have an ounce of respect for the people around you

Tomorrow I think I’ll unleash a small snippet of the guilty pleasure that is my AU of Starline having actually had friends (and maybe something more) once.

#never realized how fast I moved on #I went from being super sick and once I got better I just erased the past #everything that happened then was something cringe my middle school self did #MIDDLE SCHOOL #I WAS A CHILD #no child should ever be so sad they want to kill themself #I guess I’ve never given it thought #never mourned or reflected what I lost and what happened to me #I guess it’s just easier to completely separate that part of me than remember it #because it’s painful and hard to remember #I wasn’t a good person then I was in a lot of pain and I was so young #no one wants to think about that #but now I have such a huge disconnect between that time of my life and who I am now #I’ve completely made that part of my life a separate entity #and it’s literally been this past month or two that’s i realized this #I’ve spent the past three-ish years just making fun of myself at that time period because it’s easier than thinking about that part of #my life #it’s a chapter I don’t want in my story but keeping it out leaves this awkward blank space #I’ve never been good at receiving apologies or praised for doing something hard #and looking back and admitting that I was so sick so young and was able to get over it is something that’s fucking amazing and fucking #horrifying and I’m allowed to feel those things without pushing it away and making a joke about it #this is so random I meant for this to be a lol relatable post #delete later #rae’s rambles

#also bc this is my blog and I never tag shit so this isn’t breaching containment lmao #I really like Wilbur’s vocals but sometimes he strains particularly hard and it makes me cringe #like it’s a great tone and there’s singers who do it and are very healthy but every once in a while he’ll sing a high note #or hold out a note and it’s like. oh no. that’s not an artistic choice #I will say I normally have one or two songs that I just skip in albums and eps #(staring directly at the fall. I like the concept but spoken word never meshes well w/ me)#(sections of it like in call me what you like are rly fun but it’s not my cup of tea when it’s the whole piece)#but this one I feel like they’re all gonna be added to my regular listening #and that’s like super rare. even though I think the only other time this happened for a non-musical album was also Lovejoy lmao #are you alright? does not miss once in its life

is geoff johns run on the Teen Titans considered good by people?

#i read the first thirty issues and genuinely thought it was bad and cringe and that the man has never spoken to a teenager in his life #other than maybe having like a kid egg his car or something #because to me it feels like he writes all teenagers with the same strokes off: life is depressing being a teen sucks nothing good happens #which... like i guess would be fine if he did that for like 1 character but he did it with characters that weren't like that?#and made it so the titans barely felt like a family... the younger titans felt like kids forced to be at a summer camp who lowkey hated #each other and resented being there in the first place #like they kinda grew out of that but like. idk they just felt estranged from one another and always felt to me in the issues i read #that they 1) didn't respect what being a titan meant 2) were happy to throw stones at old 'crazy' titans 3) were miserable ppl with drama #that i couldn't get invested in because it was so stupid #like we have: tim 'you don't know how hard it is to lie to your dad' drake #cassie 'i'm here to be the female representative of my generation and it shows' sandsmark #bart 'i read a lot of books and it got rid of my entire personality and fundamentally changed my characterization for the worse' allen #and conner 'whines about kansas and thinks outcomes are determined by your genetics' kent #like sorry i was messed up when i was a teen but like... i would have never sympathized or seen myself in these kids...

Do you have any unpopular opinions about TIG or any of his characters, no matter how small or random? I personally hate his character from that Avalanche movie, I think he’s annoying 😬 but he always gives a good performance and I love his other characters. Any for you?

(Un)popular opinion is how I hated how TIG in interviews (especially early ones) always had to clarify how his role as Terry Silver was 'ridiculous', 'over the top', in 'need of revision' and whatnot, and I always felt irked and saddened because I didn't like how there was this expectation for him to overcriticize and bash the character he pretty much created out of scratch because that was the commonly accepted opinion. I have no memory of anyone else going through that? Did Chozen's actor go through that? Did anyone else? When you think about it, they're all pretty ''ridiculous'' then too. Like, just let the man say You know what, Terry Silver is actually pretty neat and very complex actually if one bothers looking and he always was, prior to Cobra Kai and certainly before, thank you very much. Luckily, newer interviews finally let him acknowledge that.
