What’s your OTP for your Muse?: Lucigo and Nileslow are life, man.

What are you willing to RP when it comes to shipping?: Pretty much anything?  Angst, fluff, wild adventures, first meetings, insane AUs...  I really love RPing shipping in general.

How large does the age gap have to be to make it uncomfortable?: Due to a mixture of my native culture, my Ace Attorney OTPs, and my own parents, I actually don’t mind age gaps that much.  I’d say I get uncomfortable if there’s an 18-year gap?  If one is born while the other is an adult, basically.

Are you selective when shipping?:  Kinda.  Not really.  I mean, ships just... come to me.  And that happens often.  So I don’t know where I stand on selectivity.  I do believe we’ve got to at least like each other, if not be friends, to ship our muses.

How far do steamy moments have to go before they’re considered NSFW?: Ooooh a toughie.  Honestly imo you can go the entire way without being NSFW if you’re vague enough.  I usually stop after... like... the makeout stage?  Does that make sense?

Who are other Muses you ship your Muse with?: @papilioreginae, @sakuradreamerz, @kleptomxnia (who is sadly no longer active), uhhh I can’t remember anyone else I’m sorry ;w;

Does one have to ask to ship with you?: Usually.  Unless it obviously clicks, I’d like to be notified if you’re going for a romantic relationship.

How often do you like to ship?: I am a literal shipping machine, dude.

What is your favorite ship in your current fandom?: Current fandom as in the one I roleplay in?  Which is Fire Emblem?  Hmm... that’s really tough.  Can I give my top five in no particular order?  Ryoumarx, Ricken/Maribelle, Azurrin, Leonoka, and Marth/Tiki.

Finally, how does one ship with you?: You just gotta ask me (but i’ll probably ask you first because my mind is always shipping things) and then i’ll freak out for a few minutes because holy crud someone wants to ship with me.  someone thinks i’m worth it.  my goodness.

first of all lemme just say, my phone also keeps autocorrecting laslow to kaslow, and i dont know why. what is a kaslow

that being said,

i think niles only starts talking to laslow because he’s not getting anywhere interrogating odin, and as much as he agrees with leo sending odin away on dangerous missions, it means he’s just stewing with his questions for months at a time. he wants to know where theyre from, damn it! selena is obviously too hostile and too smart, but laslow seems stupid enough, and also desperate enough to be easily flustered.

however, obviously, this backfires, because laslow isnt giving him answers at all and is instead giving niles so much kindness he can’t help but fall in love. because laslow is smarter than he seems, and he can see a sad person from a mile away, and he’s got this big-brother-intuition of having to take care of people. niles obviously needs it, and the feelings turn very genuine very soon.

i think the both of them have issues with trusting others and accepting help. as such, they have to kind of... trick the other into it? like, laslow pretending he’s the lonely one and seeking closeness when he notices niles is getting too caught up in his darkest thoughts. niles teasing his way into making laslow tell him what’s really wrong.

their trauma is quite similar, i think, having grown up with no one to properly take care of them for a long time and experiencing loss and brutality at an early age. the specifics, though, make the difference: for niles, it was other people, namely those with power over him, who caused the trauma, while for laslow it was a dragon who may as well have been just a force of nature. niles couldn’t rely on anybody, while laslow had to trust in his group and become very close with them. niles’ shrewdness and experience might help laslow, who’s very sensitive and helpless in many aspects of life, while i think laslow’s genuine love for other people can help niles be less hopeless.

in a birthright ending, laslow stays in nohr for niles, who stays in nohr for leo. it’s miserable for a long time, and they fight a lot, because they’re both not doing well - laslow is grieving lord xander, but can’t really talk to niles about it, as xander and niles never liked each other; niles is stressed and worried because of leo, but laslow doesn’t quite have the capacity to worry about him, too. i think this is the route where they’re least likely to grow old together.

as for birthright and revelations, i really like to imagine niles getting to come to ylisse with laslow and meeting his family and also, well, finally getting all these answers. ylisse would treat niles well, i think.
